Spider-Man: Miles Morales Will Be The Only Way to Get Spider-Man Remastered
Earlier this week it was learned that Spider-Man Remastered for the PlayStation 5 will not allow save transfers from the PlayStation 4 version of the game. The enhanced version of the game was announced alongside the most recent showing of Spider-Man: Miles Morales last week during the latest PlayStation 5 showcase. Now the situation is getting a little more hairy as apparently the remaster will not be available separately for purchase unless you get the Ultimate Edition of Miles Morales for PS5.
It was also confirmed last week that Miles Morales along with a few other first-party titles will be releasing cross-gen on PlayStation 4 even after Sony saying that that would not be the case. For those who do get the PlayStation 4 version of Miles Morales, there will be a free PS5 upgrade and those who want to purchase the remaster will be able to do so, but it cannot be purchased separately.
Here is the full statement from Sony via Kotaku:
Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered is an enhanced version of Marvel's Spider-Man, and is included as part of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition for the PlayStation 5. In addition, players who purchase Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PlayStation 4 can upgrade at no additional cost to the PS5 version of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and can take advantage of a paid-upgrade to download Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered.
There are no plans currently to offer Marvel's-Spider-Man: Remastered as a standalone. Players with a copy of Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4 can purchase Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition to experience Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered on PS5. Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4 also will be backwards compatible on PS5.
Their statement is pretty straightforward and clear except for those who are physical PS4 owners of Miles Morales. What system will be in place for those who upgrade, but didn't buy digitally? How will PlayStation know that they are eligible for the PS5 upgrade? Hopefully, Sony clears that up before the game's launch on November 12. At the very least, the PS4 version will be available to play via backward compatibility on PS5.
Miles Morales will be a launch title with the PlayStation 5, but it will be out on PlayStation 4 the same day. You can pre-order both the PS5 and PS4 version over on Amazon.

Kingdom Hearts Sea Salt Trio Plushies Now Up for Pre-Order
For my fellow Kingdom Hearts fans out there, Square Enix has just put up pre-orders for the next wave of official Kingdom Hearts plushies, and this time it spotlights the sea salt trio. Right now on the Square Enix store you can pre-order your very own plushes of Roxas, Axel, and Xion (who?). Each one is cute and adorable resembling a similar design of the Sora and Kairi plushes that went up for sale earlier this year.
Square has been killing it with merch for the franchise recently as there are both Donald and Goofy plushies releasing at the end of the year as well, but that's not all. Alongside the Sea Salt Trio are plushies for Chip & Dale in their Gummi Ship engineering gear. The two chipmunks are paired together for $59.99, but right now it is on a discount for $53.99.
For those looking to snag the Sea Salt Trio unfortunately they do not come in a bundle, but all of them are available for pre-order separately currently at a discount for $39.59. Both the trio along with Chip & Dale will be releasing in February next year, but now is the perfect time to pre-order with that 10% discount and you will not get charged until they are prepared to be shipped giving you plenty of time to save up the money for them. To see everything that Square has to offer with Kingdom Hearts merchandise you can check out their store.
Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory is the next entry in the series and we're less than two months away. Be sure to check back in with more coverage on the game as well as our review before the game launches on November 13 for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. You can pre-order the game for PlayStation and Switch on Amazon.

BTS To Debut 'Dynamite' Music Video in Fortnite
It's been long since Fortnite has evolved past being just the world's biggest battle royale. Following the introduction of Party Royale, the game's non-battle royale mode that served as a place for players to gather and witness global events, like Travis Scott and Steve Aoki concerts. At one point, Epic even held a screening of three of Christopher Nolan's biggest movies in the game.
Now, the biggest game in the world will be a stage for one of the biggest musical groups in the world: BTS. The award-winning K-Pop group is set to debut the music video (or MV) for their latest single, 'Dynamite.'
As part of the event, two new emotes, choreographed by BTS, will be added to the game. Following the event, players will also be able to play a special game mode in Fortnite Creative that will recreate elements of the music video as an interactive experience, complete with mini-games and various objectives related to the music video for players to complete.
This announcement comes in the midst of Epic Games' very public feud with Apple. While the legal battle between the two rages on, Epic Games has largely maintained a business as usual in the game after their '198Fortnite. Most recently, the game featured a season based largely around Marvel Comics characters and storylines. Fortnite is even beginning to crossover into other games, most recently with a slate of skins inspired by the game's iconic Battle Bus appearing in Rocket League.
The 'Dynamite' music video is set to debut in Party Royale this Friday, September 25 at 8 PM Eastern Time, but for people who won't be able to make it to the first performance, Epic plans to host the event again. The second showing of the music video will take place the next day, Saturday, September 26 at 8 AM Eastern Time.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent Celebrates Tenth Birthday With Open Source Release
Amnesia: The Dark Descent released a decade ago. While Frictional Games is hard at work with their follow-up, they still wanted to celebrate their baby hitting double digits. And so, the team has provided the community with a major update for both The Dark Descent and A Machine for Pigs. As of today, both games are going open source, meaning modders can now get in there and create some truly game-changing content.
With The Dark Descent celebrating 10 years and Amnesia: Rebirth being less than I month from release, we want to announce:
Amnesia: TDD and AMFP are going Open Source!
More info here:https://t.co/bkCupZVkDT
— frictionalgames (@frictionalgames) September 23, 2020
Making the first two Amnesia games open source is a massive get for the community. The Dark Descent already has an absolute truckload of mods for you to pick and choose from. However, with it now being open source, it would be surprising if that scene didn't explode in the coming months. Especially since we're about to get a true sequel to the first game with Amnesia: Rebirth.
Outside of maybe the first few weeks of TDD's release, there might not be a more exciting time to be an Amnesia fan. Rebirth is Frictional's first developed game since Soma and is a true sequel to the first game. A Machine for Pigs was developed by The Chinese Room and was only an indirect sequel. Finally, we're about to see what the horror masters can do with nearly ten years under their belts.
And if the modding scene blows up like I expect it to, there's going to be almost too much Amnesia content out soon. If you like survival horror, this is great news.
Amnesia: Rebirth launches on PC and PS4 on October 20. While you wait, feel free to start making your very own Amnesia: The Dark Descent mods. It's in open source as of today.

Baldur's Gate 3 Early Access Release Has Been Delayed by a Week
If you were looking forward to diving into Baldur's Gate 3 the moment that the game became available via early access, well, it turns out you'll have to wait just a little bit longer.
Originally slated to drop on September 30, Larian Studios announced today that Baldur's Gate 3 won't be arriving now until October 6. The reason for the delay is because Larian wants to eliminate as many crashes and bugs before releasing in this early access form. While the studio still expects there to be issues once the game is live in early access, there are still "some stability issues" that the developer says it's working on rectifying.
The full statement from Larian can be found here:
We have bad news, and good news. But first, the bad news! We're delaying to October 6, by a week. We'll be back later today with the romance & companionship update to pick you all up again. pic.twitter.com/j2NOEk4jAi
— Baldur's Late (@larianstudios) September 23, 2020
To make up for the somewhat disappointing news, Larian will be sharing more information on BG3 later today. News on the game's romance and companionship options are said to be divulged later as a way to "pick you all up again." Considering how many people love romancing characters in these type of games, this is some new info that I assume those who are looking forward to Baldur's Gate 3 will appreciate.
Baldur's Gate 3 will release on Stadia, Steam, and GOG when it drops in early access at the beginning of next month. And if you think that the game is going to get delayed again, Larian is doubling down on this new launch date.

Rumor: Metal Gear Solid is Getting a Full-On Remake for PS5
The Metal Gear Solid news mill has been working overtime, meaning it was inevitable that we start hearing some rumors as well, although this one was pretty unexpected. The original Metal Gear Solid, the one that features Solid Snake creeping across Shadow Moses Island, is reportedly being remade completely and will be console-exclusive to the PS5 when it launches.
The rumored return to Shadow Moses originated from a video by YouTuber RedGamingTech. In this video, the YouTuber reiterates other rumors we've heard recently – namely that Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 will be returning to PC at some point. However, the real surprise comes when he says that he "knew about Metal Gear Solid" and that the game would be coming to both the PS5 and PC. RedGamingTech says that this information was verified by two other sources, who confirmed that this remake of Metal Gear Solid at least exists.
RedGamingTech also claims that Metal Gear re-releases won't stop at the series' first two entries. Apparently, new versions of Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4 are being worked on, although they won't be remastered in the same way Metal Gear Solid 1 supposedly is. Instead, they'll receive the same treatment as Metal Gear Solid 2, something more akin to an HD remake. It's also not clear whether these remastered titles will be exclusive to PS5 or if they'll jump to PC and the Xbox Series X as well.
The past few days mark the first time we've heard any Metal Gear Solid news since the release of Metal Gear Survive, Konami's first failed foray into the series post-Kojima. While everything regarding the possibility of Metal Gear Solid remakes and remasters needs to be taken with a grain of salt, it's equally important to keep in mind that Kojima will likely not be involved in these games whatsoever should they be confirmed by Konami.

No Man's Sky Origins Launch Trailer Revealed, Available Now
No Man's Sky Origins is yet another big update for the original game that adds millions of new planets to the existing solar systems in the game along with tons of new features.
Despite launching their brand new game this year, Hello Games will still be committed to supporting No Man's Sky for a long time. Today, the developers shared the launch trailer for No Man's Sky Origins, the latest update that brings millions of new planets, some rare star systems, a refreshed user-interface, a new alien race, and much more.
According to the patch notes, the new planets will host gorgeous landscape and never-before-seen environments, which makes it much worthier to explore them one after another and enjoy your inter-galaxy tour. As you step into the new planets, you will face an all-new category of critters in the game called Fauna. These moderately big species are able to fly over the planets as well as moving slowly on the surface.
No Man's Sky Origins hosts a bunch of new historical stories, a revamped photo mode with new filters, more varied colors in the world-building, swamps and marshes on some planets, much varied clouds and weather system, new lighting conditions, volcanos, fire storms, gravitational anomalies, tornados, monster-size inects, sandworms, exploration guides, improved creature behaviours, meteors, new items, anomalous buildings, infestations, and some other gameplay and quality enhancements.
Since No Man's Sky's launch back in 2016, the game has been receiving continuous content support from the developers for free across all platforms. Last year, Hello Games launched No Man's Sky Beyond as a ground-breaking update for the game, delivering a lot of brand new features to the game and tackling dozens of annoying issues.
No Man's Sky Origins is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The game is available for free for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

Maneater Gives a Reason to Get Back in the Water With Free Next-Gen Upgrade
Developer Tripwire Interactive birthed a new genre, the "shark-pg," when they released Maneater into the wild earlier this year. Despite being met with some mixed reviews, it was a huge part of the gaming conversation when it launched back in May. Now, Maneater is getting a next-gen update for when the new consoles launch in November.
The shark-based role-playing game will be available day one for both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S in both digital and physical editions. The announcement Tweet from the official Maneater Twitter account makes it clear that the next-gen update will be free for all "current-gen owners."
We're incredibly pleased to announce that Maneater will swim onto next-gen systems at launch! Fully evolved for the new hardware with a free upgrade for all current-gen owners!
— Maneater (@maneatergame) September 23, 2020
Unfortunately for PC gamers, Tripwire clarifies on Twitter that while there will be a next-gen update for the PC, it won't be coming until early 2021. They also briefly explain how the update will work for current physical copyholders by saying that all you have to do is "pop it in your PS5 and download the new PS5 version for free!"
Maneater was a notoriously buggy game when it launched, with players citing save file corruption, frequent crashes, and problems with unlocking achievements and trophies. Hopefully by the time it's updated for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, it will be performing at the next-gen level as promised.
According to the announcement, Maneater's next-gen update will include 4K graphics, 60FPS performance, ray tracing, DualSense controller support for the PS5 version, "and more."
This news may be coming as more developers announce next-gen ports and updates for their games, but only time will tell.

Xbox Series S Paper Edition Review — Cutting Edge Next-Gen Performance
The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are finally here…sort of. Earlier this week, pre-orders opened for Xbox's next-generation consoles that will emphasize ray-tracing, speed, and performance, allowing games such as The Medium to make use of the hardware in "new ways." The UK sold out of pre-orders rapidly, and then the US pre-orders went live; websites were breaking, and eager consumers were frantically hitting refresh. Well, in the midst of all that, I was busy reviewing the Xbox Series S.
Of course, I wasn't reviewing the console as you know it: that doesn't even come out until November 10. Instead, I was reviewing the papercraft version that was released by Xbox last week. And boy, do I have thoughts.
The Xbox Series S Paper Edition comes in two versions: you have either the 1:1 scale version or the 1:3 scale version. Going by the diagrams on the 1:1 version, that's supposed to be significantly bigger than the 1:3 scale version; but honestly, when I printed both versions out they remained the same size pretty much. I'm putting this down to a printing issue though, even though the A4 diagrams seem to fit the page perfectly.
The console comes on one single A4 page with the required tools you need to do the job printed in the empty space. Each panel of the console is clearly decorated as to where you're supposed to cut it out and stick those teraflaps down. In saying that, there are 7 teraflaps present on both the Series S console and the bigger Series X.
Cutting the console out with scissors was an easy task in itself, although, given the small size of the console model, it can be a bit fiddly when it comes to larger, bulky scissors. Then there came the process of folding each teraflap and panel. The instructions suggest you crease the edge, but my first attempt wound up with messy edges, so really I'd suggest lightly scoring the edges you need to fold with a knife or the tip of your scissors. It's also worth having something to act as a ruler.
I'll be honest, I was incredibly unprepared for this. My scissors were huge; I was using a kitchen knife for scoring the lines and using a coaster as a ruler. And to make matters worse, I don't have a single bit of glue in the house: no Pritt-Stick, no PVA, not even superglue. In a bid to avoid going out unnecessarily to the shop for this elusive sticky substance, I found I had nature's glue: honey. That's right, I lightly slathered some local honey from a 227g jar using the tip of a spoon handle to act as my stick.
Now, this was actually somewhat genius, because I realized that in trying to hold the panels together when it came to cleaning my fingertips…I could just simply lick the honey off of them. And with that, the panels were stuck down, and I lightly placed a coaster on top of the console panels for roughly 1 minute on each side to ensure the bits stuck together.
The Xbox Series S Paper Edition was complete: it looked tiny, uniform, and just like the real thing if I was a giant. The console itself features the large grill on the front of the console, and on the side is the Xbox logo and the USB input. Both the top of the console and the bottom has vents, and the back has all the inputs you'd expect to see on the actual console itself. That includes the input for the power, an expansion card slot, HDMI, USB-C ports, and an ethernet port.
Obviously, it's great; I now have a tiny Xbox Series S to marvel at while I wait for the console to arrive on November 10. But in admiring it, I noticed I need to bin it soon because of the honey. That can't be good to leave on there for a long period of time, can it? Not only that, but I found that in looking at it, I was wanting more and more to turn it on and load up a game, which isn't possible at all because, well, it's paper.
I had considered taking the PDF, throwing it into Photoshop and enlarging each panel to its own A4 page, and then just sticking the panels on my Xbox One, but I realized that would take a lot of measurements and fiddling around. It certainly is a good little papercraft console that does what you expect, but it's no replacement for the actual console which we'll be able to check out when it launches later this year. And it's the constant reminder that knocks this down for me.
I wanted to review the Xbox Series X Paper Edition as well, but I felt like the all-black design wouldn't sit well with my printer ink. But all in all, the Xbox Series S Paper Edition is certainly fun to construct, given you have the right tools at hand. There are also multiple uses for it, like a money bank I guess, or storing your mints inside of it, or maybe even your Nintendo Switch game cartridges? It's certainly worth downloading and giving it a try if you're looking for something to do if you're bored, or if we're yeeted into a second lockdown.
