Call of Duty: Vanguard Promotional Image and Special Editions Leaked

Following the launch of Season 5 for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, various users have discovered images for Call of Duty: Vanguard within the update files. As revealed on Reddit, these confirm the World War 2 setting that's been rumored for months now. Along with this, images for three editions – Standard, Ultimate and a Cross-Gen Bundle – have been discovered.

An open beta will also take place with Ultimate Edition owners receiving early access (though this is likely for everyone who pre-orders). Skins for three Operators along with the Frontline Weapons Pack and a Night Raid Mastercraft are also confirmed. Images showcasing all of this are being pulled in response to copyright claims so check them out now while you have the chance.

This year's Call of Duty is slated to release in Q4 2021 and will be a cross-gen release with Sledgehammer Games leading development. This means it will be coming to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. A reveal is rumored to be coming sometime this month so stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Marvel's Avengers Introduces New Faction, The Klaue Company

While Marvel's Avengers may not have been the hit that Square Enix and Marvel had hoped it'd be, it seems they are still determined to do what they can to continue building on, at least for the near future. This is evident by the War for Wakanda expansion that is planned to hit later this month. Along with it, we'll also be getting something people have been hoping for for a good while with a brand new enemy faction.

Via the official Twitter and blog, it was revealed that a new group of enemies will arise that our heroes will face off with: the Klaue Company. This faction is a mercenary group led by Ulysses Klaue and will consist of a brand new set of enemies and bosses with highlights given to the Bruiser, an axe-wielder who can overcharge his attacks, and the Strategist, who uses the new Sonic element to buff his allies. There is way more promised, and it seems that none of them will be robots (maybe). You can read more details at the link below.

Marvel's Avengers is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC and Stadia. War for Wakanda will launch on all those platforms on August 17th.

Loop Hero Comes To Nintendo Switch This Holiday Season

Earlier this year saw the release of Loop Hero. The indie title from small developer Four Quarters and publisher Devolver Digital was a unique take on the 'idler' game. The game did very well for itself, considering its humble beginnings, and has only been on PC since its initial launch. Later this year, that will change.

As announced in the most recent Indie World mini-Direct from Nintendo, Loop Hero will be coming to the Switch. There isn't much in the video announcement, which you can see below. So whether or not the game will have any additional content isn't clear, but presumably it will at least have all the updates the current PC version has. If you're unfamiliar with the game, it follows an unnamed hero as they awaken in a world that has been largely destroyed with no memories of the past outside that the damage was caused by a being known as The Lich. You move around on a set path and set down cards that transform the area around you until you eventually face the boss of the area, while encountering various characters and creatures as you unravel the mystery of your new world.

Loop Hero is available now on PC and will release on the Nintendo Switch this holiday season. There is no word on other platforms as of now.

Eastward Releases on September 16th for PC and Switch

Announced way back in 2018, Pixpil's gorgeous pixel-art adventure Eastward is finally releasing on September 16th. It will be available for Nintendo Switch and on PC via Steam, Humble Store and GOG. A new trailer has also been released, teasing the mysterious futuristic world and its many wonders. Check it out below.

Don't let its charming aesthetic fool you – Eastward is set in a world where civilization has collapsed due to a toxic "presence" that destroys everything. The survivors now live in underground villages, forming new societies in the process. As a miner named John, you come across a strange girl named Sam who's lost her memory and possesses unique powers.

Eventually the duo will embark on a big adventure, using the railway to travel cross-country, interacting with different characters and even taking on various foes. Switching between John and Sam allows for solving different puzzles and locating hidden paths. For more extensive gameplay of Eastward, head here.

Metal Slug Tactics Coming to Switch, Releases in 2022

Metal Slug Tactics, a tactical RPG take on the beloved shoot 'em up series, arrives in 2022. Along with PC via Steam, it will also release for the Nintendo Switch. Dotemu and Leikir Studio also showcased some new gameplay, which sees the game's Sync mechanic along with a fight against the Aeshi Nero boss.

Characters like Marco, Fio, Tarma and Eri are also showcased along with the SVX-15D Slugnoid mech. Though strategy is key, Metal Slug Tactics also offers some roguelike elements (with new sections of a stage literally dropping in, complete with enemies). Players can accumulate experience from battles and acquire stronger weapons and perks to gain an edge.

Along with simultaneously attacking targets with the Sync mechanic, there's also the Adrenaline bar which can unleash super attacks. With a strong amount of replay value, procedurally generated missions and tough challenges, Metal Slug Tactics looks like it will be a great addition to the Switch's library. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

Tetris Effect: Connected is Coming to Nintendo Switch on October 8

Tetris Effect first launched for the PS4 back in 2018, putting a compelling new spin on a beloved and timeless classic, and was instantly met with widespread praise. Last year, it launched for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One as well, adding more bells and whistles to the experience, including a co-op multiplayer mode. Soon, it's going to open the doors for more players to join in on the fun.

During Nintendo's recent Indie World showcase, it was announced that Tetris Effect: Connected will be releasing for the Nintendo Switch at long last, with its release date confirmed to be October 8. Honestly, it's a bit surprising that it's taken this long for a game such as this one to come to Nintendo's hybrid (as the saying goes, it's perfect for the Switch)- but hey, better late than never, right?

Tetris Effect: Connected is currently available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, and PC. You can read our review of the game through here.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Details Are Coming "Soon"

It's surprising how little we've heard about Pokemon Legends: Arceus since its announcement earlier this year. The Pokemon Company announced the open world RPG as the next big evolution of the series, promising an adventure cut from a very different cloth from what series fans would expect, but since then, the only time it's been spoken about in an official capacity when its release date was announced. And with that release date not terribly far away, fans are beginning to wonder when exactly we'll hear more about the game.

Thankfully, it doesn't seem like it will be too long. Speaking in a recent interview with GamesBeat, JC Smith – who's the senior director of consumer marketing at The Pokémon Company International – said that the company has "a robust rollout" planned as far as updates on Pokemon Legends are concerned, and while they don't have anything to share just yet, there will be more details on the game coming "soon."

"That one, we have a robust rollout, but not a lot that I can share at this time," Smith said. "But the team has a lot of great things to share, and you'll be hearing from us soon."

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is due out for the Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022. A couple of months before that, on November 19, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will launch as well. We'll probably be hearing more about that in the near future as well.

Life is Strange: Remastered Collection Delayed to Early 2022

Deck Nine Games has announced that Life is Strange: Remastered Collection, which features remasters of Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm, has been delayed. Instead of September, it will now be releasing in early 2022. Life is Strange: True Colors is still on track for its release on September 10th while its Wavelengths DLC arrives on September 30th.

As for the reason behind the delay, the developer cited the current pandemic. It wants to "alleviate any additional pressure" on the team by providing more time between the release of Life is Strange: True Colors and the Remastered Collection. More details will be revealed in the coming months but a first look trailer will premiere tomorrow for Wavelengths in the meantime.

Life is Strange: Remastered Collection is in development for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC, Google Stadia and Nintendo Switch. Along with the first two games in the series, which sport improved visuals, it also adds improvements to the gameplay and puzzles. Bonus content like the Farewell episode and Chloe's outfits are also included.

Axiom Verge 2 is Out Today for Switch, PS4, and PC

When Axiom Verge 2 creator Thomas Happ promised that the sequel would be out "before you know it," he wasn't kidding. In the recent Indie World Showcase, it was announced that the Metroidvania-esque title would be out later today for the Nintendo Switch, PC (via Epic Games Store) and PS4.

Described as a sequel and prequel to the original, Axiom Verge 2 offers the same side-scrolling action platforming and exploration. However, it adds lots of new mechanics into the mix, especially when it comes to the breach map. This is an alternate dimension that can be switched to and has its own unique enemies, abilities and aesthetic while being intimately connected to the original dimension.

This is on top of new abilities and upgrade, new boss fights and tons of different secrets to discover. A release date hasn't yet been confirmed for the PS5 version (though Happ previously stated it would launch on the same day) so stay tuned for any details and updates in the coming days.
