Microsoft is one of the first major tech comapnies to respond to calls to re-examine its stance on right to repair, and has pledged to re-think it's stance on the subject and make changes to its policies by the end of next year.
Per Grist and the shareholder advocacy group As You Sow, Microsoft is willing to address the concerns of the right to repiar movement, and has agreed to hire an independent consultant to look into the benefits of giving consumers more tools and rights when it comes to repairing their own tech.
Traditionally, access to parts and repair documentation has been made intentionally tricky for consumers as companies like Apple, Microsoft and Samsung prefer to coax consumers into using expensive repair partners or buying new products outright to replace faulty goods.
Rockstar has finally announced Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition, a game collecting GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas, released in one collection. But the official details from Rockstar about the title remain a little thin. Luckily, the worst kept gaming secret of 2021 continues to spill more of its details even after its official announcement.
First up, we've got an inclination as to what the collection's price may end up being. Retailer Base.com opened pre-orders for The Definitive Edition collection last week, with a premium price tag listed at $70 / £70 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S (thanks, Resetera).
Right now, these are just reports – the listings could have been published as placeholders, or similar – but we won't be surprised if this ends up being the actual final price for the collection. After all, back in March 2021, Take-Two once again clarified its stance on raising game prices and reckoned that we, as consumers, are ready for $70 games.

An employee from Virtuos, the studio rumoured to be remaking Metal Gear Solid 3, has confirmed that the developer is working on an unannounced AAA action-adventure game remake.
After announcing N64 Games were coming to Switch Online, Nintendo of Europe confirmed that the European Switch owners can play those games at 60Hz, easing some fan worries.

Grotto is a unique narrative adventure game launching this month that drops you in the mystical role of a tribal Soothsayer, a fancy term for a fortune teller. Your primitive tribe is in trouble, so the superstitious clan turns to you for guidance. Be careful what you tell them, though; your fortunes have a significant impact on their lives, for better or worse.
Divining the fates of the beast-like villagers includes drawing constellations, reading bones, predicting the future, and even contacting the afterlife. While you possess some degree of supernatural ability, it's up to you to interpret the meanings of otherworldly phenomena and communicate them to the tribe. Your followers, who you'll get to know better through numerous visits, take everything you say as gospel, and your fortunes influence their actions, which can be to their benefit or lead them to disaster and even death. Think hard about what you want a star pattern to mean; you wouldn't want to inadvertently lead someone you like astray, would you? With a striking blend of colorful 2D and 3D art, Grotto looks as unique as its premise. Check out the original announcement trailer below.
Grotto comes from the aptly named Brainwash Gang and launches on October 20 on PC with a Steam demo available now. The game is also coming to PlayStation/Xbox consoles and Switch early next year.
Every now and then, a game comes along that feels completely unique. Now, we know what you're thinking: you've seen the same thing said about countless titles over the years — what makes this one so different? We get it; more often than not, when a game is described as 'unique', you can probably identify at least a few well-worn tropes, and the same can be said with Disco Elysium: The Final Cut. This is a game that certainly features familiar individual mechanics, but when taken as a whole, there's really nothing else like it in gaming right now.
Disco Elysium has been around for a while on other platforms and chances are by now if you've seen any gameplay or commentary around the game, then you already know whether or not it's going to be up your alley (which would also save us the unenviable job of actually explaining what the heck it's all about). This release on Switch carries the subtitle 'The Final Cut', delivering what appears to be the definitive version of the game; but we'll get into what's been added a bit later.
We didn't get to see the figures in the flesh during the show, but pre-orders for both have now started to appear online. Over on Amazon Japan (which ships to most places worldwide), the pair are available as standalone figures or as part of a double pack.
"If anybody gives you s*** for it, we'll take responsibility".
There was a time when Travis Touchdown was considered a good shout for a spot on the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster, and while he technically did make his way into the game as a Mii Fighter costume, the real collab actually ended up appearing in No More Heroes 3.
As those who have played the game already will know, No More Heroes 3 features a number of special matches which change up the game's usual formula, often taking on characteristics of other game genres or specific well-known titles. In danger of spoiling the game for anyone who hasn't finished it yet (head back to safety now if you'd like), the final boss battle is very reminiscent of Super Smash Bros., and it turns out that Nintendo was completely on board.
When we started development on Disciples: Liberation, we knew one of the biggest hurdles we'd face would be bringing a genre not that widely available on consoles to an entirely new audience of players.
Nintendo UK has announced that the European versions of Nintendo 64 games for Nintendo Switch Online members will all run at 60Hz and not 50Hz as previously feared. The Nintendo 64 games coming to the paid service will all be based on the superior NTSC versions and not PAL. The company also said that some […]

Netflix's Squid Game has taken the world by storm, and now it's taking over Grand Theft Auto V role-playing servers. GTA fans are recreating the show's grim children's games across the streets of Los Santos. Winners get big cash prizes while the losers get sued into oblivion by Take-Two. Just kidding, that's a joke. …
A tall stone tower. A bale of hay below. The screech of an eagle. If you've been conditioned by years of playing Ubisoft games, seeing all of these at once means one thing: jump.
An hour or so into my time with a preview build of Forza Horizon 5, I found myself kangaroo-hopping through cactus-dotted hills in a yellow Ford Bronco. I wasn't heading to a race or a PR stunt location. I had no particular goal in mind. It was just me, the lush desert, a burly SUV, and a chill song on the in-game…
Genshin Impact's 2.2 update is set to release this week, but Mihoyo is already teasing what's happening beyond that, the cheeky wee scamps. The developer has taken to Twitter to share some character information on two characters, one who you'll find familiar and another you won't have seen before - not in any official capacity, anyway.
First up, we have Arataki Itto, who is the boss of the Arataki gang, if the name wasn't a wee bit of a tease. Most of the information given fleshes out his character rather than providing any practical details - he's "an intrepid man with Oni blood running through his veins" who is "fast as the wind and mighty as thunder". From his image, though, we can see that he's a claymore user and wields the Geo element.
We've also got some more information about wee Gorou. The general of the Watatsumi Army is also a Geo user and can be seen wielding a bow in the picture posted to Twitter (below). As for your character teaser, he's "born with a beast-like fighting intuition and tenacious will" and can "find a way to victory even in the most critical moments".
HP is notorious for accidentally announcing gaming PC components through product listings, with notable examples including mention of an Nvidia RTX 3080 Super GPU. Now, thanks to yet another collection of PC specs, it looks like AMD's Zen 4 wave of CPUs could be with us soon, and might feature in one of HP's all-in-one desktop PCs.
Spotted by Momomo_US, the HP spec sheet suggests the company's upcoming AIO build will feature a Ryzen 7000 series CPU as an option. Naturally, this could mean that HP knows something about AMD's next-generation processor plans. Still, it's admittedly hard to tell whether the processor's inclusion is legit or if it's been accidentally listed instead of the upcoming Zen 3 refresh.
Of course, while HP has potentially let team red's CPU cat out of the bag, it hasn't exactly revealed a release date. At the moment, the listing states that the PC is coming soon, meaning there's no solid launch date for the AIO. That said, the specs also include Intel's Alder Lake i7, which suggests the machine could release alongside team blue's next flagship later this year.
Space simulation game Space Crew is a tongue-in-cheek Star Trek-style romp that mixes elements of FTL and other roguelites in a fun and friendly manner. In our review, we lamented the lack of management elements and meaningful choices, but we appreciated it for what it was.
So did plenty of others, it seems, as today publisher Curve Digital has announced that Space Crew: Legendary Edition will be dropping towards the end of the month. The new edition introduces a host of new content such as a new campaign, a new mechanic in the form of away missions, and even new 'legendary' crew members.
The campaign will see you take on a droid army led by a rogue group of androids, while the new crew members will feature superior stats and abilities compared to the regular crew. Finally, the new away missions can feature a range of challenges, from exploration and puzzles, to good old-fashioned gunfights. This expansion is not only the largest content drop for Space Crew to date, it's 100% free for existing owners of the base game.
We've collated a list of all the guns we've seen in Far Cry 6 so far. Our Far Cry 6 preview revealed that the next game in the shooter series leans into RPG elements. There isn't a skill tree or character perks, instead the game opts for weapon and armour customisation.
The gear on offer provides character stat buffs and abilities, such as armour that boosts stamina, gloves that negate fire, or shoes that automatically gather crafting materials you drive over. You can also carry up to four weapons, and you don't need to invest points into unlocking additional slots - so there's no tough decisions to make; no need to ditch your favourite gun early in the game.
That doesn't mean you won't be rotating weapons out, though, as you unlock better guns as you progress. Weapons correlate to your guerrilla rank; any loot you find corresponds to your current level, so while you start out with WWII SMGs and rifles, you'll eventually end up with modern weapons and state-of-the-art hardware.
Want to know how to mine amethysts and make a spyglass in Minecraft? The brand new Minecraft 1.17 update is here, and it brings with it brand new Minecraft mobs and blocks. While not everything has made it into the update, one of the more elaborate blocks that did was amethyst - another precious gemstone similar to diamonds and emeralds. You can make all sorts of items from amethysts, but the hard part here is finding an amethyst geode in the first place.
These are spherical structures found either underground (at level 70 or lower), or under the sea in the main overworld. You can tell when you've found one when you see smooth basalt. After chipping through the first layer with a pickaxe, you'll find calcite. This is the only place where you can find Minecraft calcite, though it's only really used for decoration.
After going through this layer, you'll find amethyst blocks and crystals. You'll only be able to mine amethyst blocks, buds, clusters, and crystals with pickaxes. Amethyst blocks can only be mined with pickaxes made from iron or harder materials. You can also combine four amethyst shards together to recreate an amethyst block.
Cloud Imperium Games held CitizenCon this weekend, an annual digital event to celebrate all things Star Citizen. Unfortunately, despite being in development for almost 10 years, they still didn't have any news on a release date. They also didn't have a shred of info to share on their singleplayer spin-off, Squadron 42. So, what did the devs show? Well, some pretty new clouds.
As PC Gaming Weekspot viewers will no doubt already know, the time has come to bid farewell to RPS vid bud Colm Ahern. He leaves us this week for pastures new, leaving behind the world of video games journalism for a new and exciting role at a video games publisher. He will be greatly missed, so come and say goodbye to him below.
Where are the best places to farm rawhide in New World? It's no secret that New World involves a lot of crafting. There are dozens of crafting resources available, but rawhide is one of the biggies thanks to its importance in leatherwork and armor crafting. Rawhide isn't an overly rare material, but since you're very likely to need a lot of it, we've put together some tips on how to farm it as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Windows 11 has been out for little under a week, which has proven more than enough time enough time for the bugs to crawl out. Memory leaks, laggy window animations and, most egregiously, major performance issues on AMD Ryzen CPUs have all been reported. All in all, a rather disappointing start, especially given this was pitched as Microsoft most gaming-friendly OS yet.
Next time you go to replay Deus Ex (which will be within one week, now that I have put the idea in your head), perhaps you'll want to try it with a twist. A brand new mod named The Lay D Denton Project turns JC Denton from a stoic fella into a stoic lady, complete with full voice acting and a script tweaked to fit. Meet the female JC in the trailer below.
Call of Duty: Warzone Season Six is here and it has introduced a range of new content such as new weapons, a battle pass, and more. As Halloween approaches, it is expected that there will be some spooky cosmetics on their way. Last year, skins such as Leatherface and Jigsaw were added to the in-game store as part of The Haunting. Since then, more crossovers have taken place with Rambo, McClane, and Judge Dredd. Recently, it was confirmed that Scream will be one of the skins coming to celebrate Halloween this year. However, it appears that hackers have already managed to get their hands on the Scream skin in Warzone. This is not the first time hackers have been able to use unreleased cosmetics. While fans were waiting for Zombies camos to be released into the battle royale, hackers found a way to use them before everyone else. Although hacking is an ongoing issue, getting early access to cosmetics such as the Scream skin is less frustrating than the likes of silent aim and wall hacks...
The Fall Steam Next Fest has come and gone. I honestly nearly missed it, had it not been for our editor-in-chief pointing out. Upon discovering the treasure trove of demos, I scrambled to download over a dozen of them and spent the course of two days sampling each one. Much like my experience with this year's summertime Next Fest, I'm walking away from this one with a rotund wishlist and childlike eagerness to see more demos crop up, because the selection here was nothing short of ace. I tried out nine great racing game demos in this Fall lineup from the Steam Next Fest. While I can't say there's one that massively stands out, this selection covers a variety of sub-genres, meaning that there's something coming for basically every kind of racing fan. If sims are more your speed, we also have a list for that. Classic Sport Driving – Retro race day Classic Sport Driving immediately grabbed my attention due to its strong resemblance to Horizon Cha...

Elyon surprised everyone last month when it diverted from its September launch to an October 20th launch, with a change-up for its business model and a planned headstart, buyable with preorder packages. Now it's changing some of its plans again, though not by choice. Kakao and Krafton say that the headstart and launch are "still […]
MMO players have been a been preoccupied with the launch of New World over the last two weeks to pay Diablo II Resurrected too much notice, but it launched not even a week before New World, and it's had significant problems of its own. Readers will recall that Blizzard's remaster of the old classic rolled […]
The digital CitizenCon event has, for all intents and purposes, come and gone, lining up a series of seven different video panels that were full of plenty of reveals, details, plans, and future features for Star Citizen. What I'm here to do with this edition of Stick and Rudder is to try to break them […]
Disco Elysium - The Final Cut is one of those games which only comes along every now and then. It's a true piece of art, with fantastic writing, brilliant voice acting and highly unusual and unique gameplay elements. There is a lot of game to be had here in terms of pathways and ways of playing through it all, but it certainly deserves the multiple playthroughs it allows.
If you are looking for a laptop to play genshin impact, then I suggest you go for these laptops, they're kinda best to play Genshin Impact without any lags.
