New retro and sci-fi city-building games have just hit Steam Early Access

Two new indie city-building games have just hit Steam Early Access, which look like they'll have big appeal for those who like a retro or sci-fi flavour to their, well, city building. One is Silicon City - a throwback city builder with a '90s-style vibe, and the other is Sphere - Flying Cities, which has you establish and protect a society housed in a bubble in space.

Both city builders have just come to Valve's platform in Early Access this week, each with a discount of 15% off their regular price. Silicon City is a "tribute to the good ol' city builders from the '90s", indie developer Polycorne explains, which draws on classic features and mechanics you might remember from days of city building past, like a "grid-based playground with procedural development" and various construction types (residential, public service, shop, and office buildings, plus parks and other culture spaces).

You'll also have to manage your city's traffic and the evolution of its citizens - or "silizens", as they're called in the game. You play as mayor and you start from scratch with empty land, so you'll need to build it up, make sure everything's hooked up with electricity, entertainment, and work, while keeping it all financially healthy - and making sure you're popular enough to be re-elected when the time comes.

Destiny 2's Vex Mythoclast is getting nerfed

Bungie is taking a tuning pass at Destiny 2's Vex Mythoclast Exotic weapon, so you'd better enjoy it while it's strong. Bungie senior community manager dmg04 has taken to Twitter to tell fans that the team knows the gun is feeling a tad "hot" right now.

"Team is looking at toning down [Mythoclast] in the December patch," he says. "Goal isn't to nerf into the ground, but some tuning is felt to be in order. Once we have more info, we'll let y'all know."

The Vex Mythoclast is among many weapons that have made the jump to Destiny 2 from the original game. Much like before, you only have a chance at obtaining this one if you complete the Vault of Glass raid, and even then, it's not guaranteed. The Exotic weapon is technically a fusion rifle, but it fires like an auto rifle, giving it a unique feel. Funnily enough, it was also a tad hot when it came to Destiny 1, and Bungie swiftly nerfed it then, too.

The best way to play Crysis on PC: a hands-on with the remastered trilogy

Today's release of the Crysis Remastered Trilogy, which includes newly revamped versions of Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 alongside last year's Crysis Remastered, begs an age-old question that has become a deep-rooted part of PC gaming culture since the days of the 2007 original: but can it run Crysis? After spending some time with the remasters, we have thoughts and answers.

Before we discuss the Crysis Remastered Trilogy, it's worth reflecting on why the Crysis series still means so much to so many, almost 14 years after the first game's release. When it first debuted, Crysis pushed real-time visual fidelity to new heights and offered a level of interactivity that wasn't commonplace in FPS games at the time, nor since. Understandably, this came at a massive cost to performance. Even now, the game provides a sizable challenge to today's best graphics cards and best gaming CPUs, struggling to maintain a consistent 60fps at 4K max settings.

It remains a graphical and technological marvel with few games since leaving such a defining mark on PC gaming, which left its sequels - and currently leaves these remasters - with some understandably large nanosuit-styled shoes to fill.

League of Legends patch 11.21 notes – Dragonmancer skins, Syndra VFX update, /All Chat disabled

The nights grow darker and the air chillier as we make our way towards the end of League of Legends' 2021 patch schedule. League of Legends patch 11.20 has sailed onto the MOBA game's live battlegrounds and its follow-up has now hit the PBE for its fortnight of testing. So, let's see what's in store for League of Legends patch 11.21, shall we?

If you've been keeping a close eye on League's Twitter channels, you've probably had an early peek at the batch of new skins headed its way with 11.21. This patch is all about the Dragonmancer alternate universe, with new styles for Kai'Sa, Karma, Thresh, Volibear, and Yasuo on the way. The latter two are particularly special, with Volibear getting a Prestige Edition, while Yasuo's two skins are legendary variants, bringing new voiceovers, as well as new animations, VFX, SFX, and more. You can check all of these out in the New Champion Skins section below.

Elsewhere, we've got a VFX update coming up for The Dark Sovereign, Syndra with 11.21. "Similar to the previous VFX updates we've made in the past (Ziggs, Zilean, Malzahar, etc), we're working on updates to the visual effects (VFX) of champions whose spell effects are in need of some love," senior visual effects artist Riot Sirhaian explains. "Our aim is to get their VFXs to current League standards and improve gameplay clarity. This time, it's Syndra's turn, for 11.21's PBE patch!"

Genshin Impact Electro Traveler build, abilities, and how to unlock

The Genshin Impact Traveler - Aether or Lumine - is able to switch between Anemo and Geo talents and constellations at will, by interacting with a Statue of the Seven in Mondstadt or Liyue, respectively. When they resonate with one of these statues, their element becomes aligned with the element of the statue's corresponding region.

The Genshin Impact 2.0 update transported us across the sea to Inazuma, a new region inspired by Japan. Inazuma means lightning in Japanese, so it comes as no surprise that the nation worships Baal, the Electro Archon - and that the Statues of the Seven in Inazuma can imbue the Traveler with Electro powers.

The Electro Traveler's skills are a worthy addition to any team - they're particularly helpful for boosting energy regeneration, as their elemental skill generates Abundance Amulets that provide elemental energy and recharge. This means they are able to provide great support to characters like Eula. The Electro Traveler is also able to provide valuable damage as a sub DPS, depending on the build you go for. Here's how to unlock the Electro Traveler, and how to put together the best Electro Traveler build.

Exactly one month after launch, Deathloop received its "first major game update" last night. Along with (hopefully?) fixing lingering issues with stuttering framerates, it has added DLSS support to give Nvidia folks a big FPS boost, fixed some crashes and other bugs, including a nasty one where a bad menu option would reset Colt's progress, and generally improved things. And this is the point where I think I'll finally play the game.
