PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 12:45 PM A group of Raven Software employees are walking out to protest Activision Blizzard's reported decision to lay off a dozen quality assurance staffers, which most notably work on Call of Duty: Warzone. As shared to Twitter by Axios' Stephen Totilo, the group released a statement calling for the 12 game testers to be offered full-time jobs alongside the rest of the Raven QA team. "These individuals were let go in 'good standing', meaning they had not underperformed or committed any fireable offence," the statement reads. "The majority of those who were not let go on December 3 are still unsure about the status of their employment. These personnel cuts come after five weeks of overtime, and before an anticipated end of year crunch. The QA team, which at this point in time mainly works on Call of Duty: Warzone, so far has been reduced by just over 30%." The statement goes on to say that the team was told "multiple times" by leadership that positive departmental changes were coming, which was also the reason no one on the team received standard promotions or raises that allegedly should have been in place by March 2021. |
PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 12:01 PM December 6, 2021 Registration for the launch version of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is open. After one last delay, the Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker release date finally lands this week - though if you've been looking forward to the game, there's a decent chance you've already been playing in early access. If this is your first go on a new FFXIV expansion launch, you might not have known that you need another registration code to keep playing after the official launch. Even if you're already playing Endwalker in early access, you'll need to input that additional registration code on the Mog Station to keep playing. Early access codes will cease granting access to the game on December 10 at 11:59pm PST (December 11 at 2:59am EST) for North American servers, or December 10 at 11:59pm GMT for European servers, as the devs explain. You can input your registration code on the Mog Station as of today. You should receive the code via whichever retailer you purchased Endwalker from. On Steam, you'll find the code in the 'CD key' section of the game properties menu. If you purchased Endwalker through the Square Enix store, you should find your code on the order status page. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 11:09 AM Let's talk about Cities: Skylines DLC. Skylines is a Paradox game to the core, and a really decent city-building game to boot. The vanilla package alone is perfectly playable, but most of the creative freedom and meaningful options are locked behind expansions; if you want to place bus lines, build a university, or construct a single park with a few trees, the vanilla title is perfectly capable. But if you want to design your own Central Park, or build a full transport hub complete with taxis, metros, trains, and even blimps and cable cars, you will need to fork out money. As the full package can easily surpass a hundred pounds outside Steam sales, the inevitable question of "which expansion should I get?" raises its ugly head. With a varying degree of quality and the inherent personal interest in each separate package, it can be hard to identify which expansions to spend your hard-earned money on. That's where we come in. We looked at every single DLC out there, so you wouldn't have to. We've started this guide just covering the major expansions that add new mechanics. There are a lot more DLCs that are essentially just cosmetics. RELATED LINKS: Cities: Skylines mods, Cities: Skylines system Requirements |
PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 11:43 AM Looking for interesting CK3 starting characters? This medieval grand strategy game landed to near-universal acclaim from critics – just check out our Crusader Kings 3 review. With a 91 on Metacritic and 'Very Positive' reviews on Steam, there are probably more than a few newcomers to the series scrambling with the question: Where in the world should I begin? Many will mean this literally because, as most new players have probably realised, Crusader Kings III sets itself apart from nearly all others in the strategy genre by allowing you – with only a few exceptions – to play any ruler on the map, from hardscrabble tribal chiefs to illustrious feudal emperors. That freedom can be liberating, but also paralysing. With an entire world of rulers to choose from, who is worth choosing? While the game helpfully offers some interesting characters to select from, they tend to focus on a few key areas in Western Europe. To help, we've highlighted some of the more interesting characters to play from both the 867 AD and 1066 AD CK3 start points, each with their own particular challenges and goals. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 11:20 AM Want to know how to slide in Fortnite? Fortnite Chapter 3's brand new island is filled with hilly areas, the perfect place to introduce a sliding mechanic. While it may be the season for sledding down winter slopes, you don't need to be in a snowy environment to utilise this mechanic. Performing a slide is as simple as crouching at the right time - it's worth learning how to slide early on as it's likely going to be a staple of the Fortnite meta. Sliding down a steep hill allows you to move much faster than if you were running, making it easy to avoid enemy fire and outrun the storm circle. It's possible to slide on a level platform, though you won't travel very far as you need an angled surface to utilise this mechanic effectively. Sliding is joined by the web-shooters from Spider-Man which allows you to swing around the environment, though this isn't available to use until next week. There are challenges tied to sliding, so it's important to get to grips with this new mechanic early on. Here's everything you need to know about sliding in Fortnite. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 10:44 AM With over seven thousand EU4 mods - the top one hundred of which having anywhere between 10K – 300K subscribers - trying to tweak your game can seem like an intimidating experience. Thankfully, it's hard to go wrong with the quality of the modding community for Europa Universalis IV. They've somehow managed to make an already replayable game even more replayable, if you can imagine that. So instead of gawking at the sheer quantity and quality of mods, let's look at how easy it is to enhance the vanilla game across a range of categories to get any megalomaniac started on a fuller EU4 experience. In days gone by you'd have had to grab mods directly from the Paradox forums and get into the weeds of placing files here and there. Thankfully for EU4 getting mods has become as easy as shopping on Amazon Prime thanks to the Steam Workshop integration. You might find some mods still host themselves separately but all of the popular ones at least will automatically be downloaded onto the launcher once you subscribe. Let's take a look. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 10:47 AM Wondering what the Fortnite crown does? The Fortnite victory crown arrived as part of Fortnite Chapter 3, alongside a wealth of other changes - including a completely overhauled Fortnite map. The whole island has been flipped around, so there are plenty of new locations to explore - and to help you get around, you can now slide in Fortnite, which is the perfect way to get away from enemies quickly. If sliding isn't stylish enough for you, Spider-Man's web-shooters are also coming to Fortnite, which will enable you to swing between buildings. Spidey fans can unlock his skin via the Season 1 Fortnite battle pass, and more Spider-Man skins will be available in the item shop later in the season. If you've noticed players running around the island with a fetching golden llama crown, you may be wondering how they obtained such illustrious headgear, what benefits it gives the bearer, and - most importantly - how to get your hands on a Fortnite crown for yourself. Here's what the Fortnite crown does, and how to get a Fortnite victory crown. RELATED LINKS: Fortnite V-Bucks, Fortnite Skins, Fortnite Creative Codes |
PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 10:26 AM We're not sure if it was planned or an accident, but details for the next Age of Empires IV patch have dropped ahead of a planned deployment sometime this week. Notes for patch 9369 first appeared last Friday before being taken down and then re-uploaded again as a "preview". It would be easy to speculate about what happened, but the fact of the matter is they're here and we can see what new changes are coming. This next update is smaller than the RTS game's recently released Winter update, focusing on some high-profile fixes that haven't been addressed yet. Most notably, the Springald unit has been changed quite significantly. Community members have already noted that the Springald appears to be especially effective, which has clearly filtered through to the developers as the unit is being re-focused as an 'anti-siege engine' unit. The revision makes Springalds more expensive, slows them down, and reduces their movement. In return, they get increased damage against siege units specifically. The rest of the changes largely focus on cleaning up exploits, like deleted buildings returning too many resources and Chinese trader interactions with neutral and allied markets. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 9:56 AM Want to know how to destroy the signal jammers in a single match in Fortnite? A new chapter has begun with the earth-shattering revelation that the leader of the Foundation is Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, and that the plan to defeat the Cube Queen was to flip the island over. As such, the first season of Chapter 3 has an entirely different map, a sliding technique to help you move quickly, and new guns. We now have daily, season, and milestone quests you can complete throughout the season. After you finish the season quest to discover the Fortnite device, you get three additional season quests to land at specific points on the map. One of them asks you to land at The Launchpad and destroy three signal jammers in a single match. Finding the jammers is fairly easy, as there are five scattered around the island. However, it may take a couple of tries to complete this challenge if you're eliminated first. To help you get lots of XP to spend on Fortnite skins, we will show you where The Launchpad is and where to find the three signal jammers you need to destroy. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 9:56 AM Want to know where to discover the device in Fortnite? After much speculation, Fortnite Chapter 3 has begun, and the map has now flipped over. The season comes with a new map, lots of weapons, and even a mechanic that allows you to slide in Fortnite. As if sliding down hills wasn't thrilling enough, you'll soon be able to swing across the map with the Spider-Man mythic item. Punchcard quests no longer exist and challenges are split into daily, season, and milestone quests. The first of the season quests asks you to discover a device, this signals the start of a line of story challenges and nets you a large amount of XP to unlock new Fortnite skins. We will show you where you need to go to discover the device in Fortnite, what it looks like, and which quests unlock after you find it. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 9:30 AM Are you looking for Spider-Man in Fortnite? The legendary wall-crawler has finally made his battle royale game debut in Fortnite Chapter 3. If you purchase the new battle pass, you can unlock the original Spider-Man Fortnite skin to dominate the battlefield in style. The web-slinging fun doesn't stop there, as Spider-Man's web-shooters are going to be made available for all players to use throughout the season. The latest chapter of Fortnite flips the Chapter 2 island upside down, introducing a massive undiscovered world to explore. Punchcard quests are out this season, instead the devs have decided to opt for weekly quests this time around. There's also the new victory crown mechanic which rewards skilled players for wearing the coveted crown with bonus experience points. Reaching the end of the new battle pass is no easy task, luckily we're here to help. Read our guide on how to discover the device to earn lots of experience and unlock another batch of challenges. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 8:13 AM In a bid to improve graphics card availability in the wake of the ongoing chip shortage and unprecedented levels of demand, Nvidia is set to launch a new variant of its RTX 2060 GPU tomorrow, armed with 12GB of VRAM. However, the company has had a sudden charge of heart regarding the release of a Founders Edition of the card, and has unexpectedly cancelled it. Nvidia previously listed the "RTX 2060 Founders Edition (12GB)" on the official product page, but has since removed all mention of the reference design card. Team green also confirms with TechPowerUp that it no longer has plans to release one. While most people opt to buy custom designs from board partners, Founders Edition cards are often one of the cheapest ways for people to get their hands on the best graphics cards from Nvidia - at least at MSRP. This cancellation means that anyone who wants to slot the new RTX 2060 12GB card into their gaming PC will unfortunately have to spend some extra cash. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 9:11 AM While we've had Halo Infinite's multiplayer to keep us busy for close to one month, it will soon be time to play the campaign. While we know that the Halo Infinite release date is December 8, some of those who have taken the day off will likely wonder what the Halo Infinite campaign unlock time is. Thankfully, 343 Industries has provided the answer. Halo Infinite's campaign releases on December 8 at 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm GMT. The developer has confirmed the release times on Twitter with a graphic that spells out when the FPS game will unlock in various time zones, which you can find below. If you check out Halo Infinite's Steam page, you can find a countdown timer there, too. While you still have a couple of days to wait, the Halo Infinite campaign reviews have started coming in, and it's all looking quite rosy so far. Some outlets have given it a perfect score, whereas others have given out the equivalent of an eight-out-of-ten score. Us? We landed on an eight ourselves, with Elliot Gardener calling it "a return to form for one of gaming's greatest heroes" in his Halo Infinite review. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 7:43 AM Want to know how long Halo Infinite is? 343 Industries has made some big changes to the single-player campaign in this FPS game. Unlike the linear, mission-based campaigns in previous Halo games, Halo Infinite features an open world, RPG mechanics, and a grappleshot to traverse the environment. After the negative reaction to the campaign demo in July 2020, Halo Infinite was delayed until 2021 to give the game some much needed polish. This is also the reason Halo Infinite's campaign doesn't feature co-op at launch, another first for the series. The devs have confirmed that they plan on launching the co-op campaign during Season 2 - this means players may have to wait until May 2022 to fight against the Banished with their friends. It's not all bad news though, as Halo Infinite's free-to-play multiplayer mode was released ahead of time as an open beta, to celebrate the series' 20th anniversary. This is the biggest shake up to the Halo formula in some time, but does the Halo Infinite campaign length suffer as a result? Here's how long it takes to get through Halo Infinite. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 6:48 AM So, you want to know about the Stellaris Alien Box? This is a reference to the Orbital Speed Demon anomaly event chain. It typically appears in asteroids, and once completed it can add a permanent free trait to the main species of your empire. There are five possible stages of the event, some of which offer branching possibilities like opening the box straight away, or studying it first, or even selling it and ending the chain early. If you keep it, you're granted a special project to open it, which then presents you with another choice involving several options. Depending on which option you pick, your main species will receive a new trait. This event has changed since its original incarnation, where the box would either upgrade a negative trait to a positive trait, or give you the 'best' version of an existing positive trait. This was changed as part of the 2.2 update to the current version. A look at the event chain as it appears in-game is available on the official Paradox Wiki, but we've outlined a summary of each stage for you. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 10:24 AM If you haven't already made the switch from your battered old folding seat to a fully-featured gaming chair, now is the time to do your back a favour and take the leap. But with a wide range of gaming chairs from renowned companies like Razer, Secretlab, and Vertagear, where should you start? When you think of a gaming chair, you probably picture a racing-style bucket seat. This is all because DXRacer, a well-known American company in the gaming chair space, began the trend in 2006 when automobile sales took a nosedive and it made up for a loss of earnings by repurposing sports car seats into office chairs. Popularity then grew as they became a staple in the setups of streamers and esports players, and it's not hard to see why, with great back support, comfort, and extensive adjustability. Bucket seats aren't the only style of gaming chair you can choose from nowadays, though, and with more people working and playing games from home right now, long periods at the best gaming desk make back health more important than ever. Plus, let's not forget, they just look cool too, and with crazy designs like Noblechairs' Elder Scrolls-themed gaming chair, the possibilities are endless. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 6:35 AM Genshin Impact is getting a new doodah that lets you capture animals and release them inside your plot of land, which exists inside a teapot, in case you forgot. To earn the Omni-Ubiquity Net, though, you're going to have to help a detective agency complete its investigation on, well, disappearing animals. Genshin Impact's Bantan Sango Case Files: The Warrior Dog event tasks you with helping the Bantan Sango Detective Agency save wee critters by travelling to specific points of interest throughout Teyvat and completing stealth or combat challenges. Your usual rewards of primogems and mora are on up for grabs, though if you complete everything the event has to offer, you'll unlock a quest that yields the Omni-Ubiquity Net. The 'hiding spot' points of interest involve slipping past canine bunshins by avoiding their field of view. You could engage them in combat, though Mihoyo says it "may not be the wisest option" as they're pretty capable fighters - they're also dogs, you animal, so leave them be. The peppy puppers can be stunned by the event-exclusive Ubiquity Net, distracted by fireworks, and temporarily blinded by fog - so you can sneak past them in numerous ways. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 6:39 AM Following the launch of Intel's Alder Lake processors at the beginning of last month, hardware enthusiasts and leakers alike are already clawing for news about the company's Raptor Lake chips, which are due to arrive in 2022. Now, leaker Komachi_Ensaka has discovered what looks like an early benchmark of a Raptor Lake CPU, giving us an idea of what the upcoming processors are capable of. The unknown Intel processor briefly appeared on the BAPCo (Business Applications Performance Corporation) Crossmark benchmark database, boasting specs of 24 cores and 32 threads, identifying it as part of team blue's new heterogeneous CPU design. While the entry was quickly pulled after being shared, Tom's Hardware immortalised the benchmark results with a screenshot. Unfortunately, when compared against the Core i9-12900K and AMD Ryzen 9 5950X in comparable setups, this Raptor Lake chip falls short in every category. It must be stressed, though, that this is likely an early engineering sample, so there are likely plenty of adjustments on the way to improve the microarchitecture's performance across all applications. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 6:23 AM The Halo Infinite release date is just around the corner, with its campaign portion dropping on December 8 (the multiplayer chunk is already live), and now we've got a great idea of exactly what's headed players' way. The FPS game's campaign reviews are pouring in, giving us an idea of whether 343 Industries' latest will be worth your hard-earned pennies - and it seems the answer so far is a pretty resounding 'yes'. The game is currently sat at a healthy 86 on aggregate site Opencritic and 82 for PC (87 for Xbox Series X) on Metacritic. Reviews across the board put the new PC game at the higher end of the scale, with some perfect scores in the mix, as you can see in the roundup below - though it's worth noting a couple of sites place it a little closer to the eight-out-of-ten mark. One such example is this orange site right here's own Halo Infinite review. Elliot Gardner gives the game a hearty eight-out-of-ten, concluding that it's a "phenomenal single-player experience that competes with the best this iconic series has to offer". On the multiplayer front, the view is that the mode "needs a fair few structural tweaks, but still ultimately sparks joy". PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 6:06 AM So, you want to read up on the latest Victoria 3 dev diary? Paradox's newest grand strategy game doesn't have a release date at the moment, and probably won't for a while. In the meantime, we get treated to a weekly drop of new information as the development team reveals its intent for various aspects of the strategy game. Initially the Victoria 3 team started looking at few foundational subjects, such the overall vision, pops, and goods, before switching to themed series of diaries that covered individual aspects of broader topics. Diaries 18 to 21 looked at international relations, for example, where-as 6 through 8 looked at internal politics. It's worth bearing in mind that the topics talked about are still a work in progress, and so things are likely to change between the time the diary goes live and final release. Topics are likely to be revisited as well to explore things in great depth, or to highlight any such changes that have been brought in since the subject was originally brought up. Basically, don't take these diaries as gospel truth, although unless stated otherwise the underlying intent behind features and mechanics is likely going to stay the same. Also, all screenshots will be a work in progress, so please stop commenting on how off the numbers look. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 7:50 AM The second new job in the FFXIV Endwalker expansion is the Reaper class. This sinister, scythe wielding character can summon a demon avatar from the Void to aid in battle and arrived alongside the FFXIV Sage job. As well as these two jobs, Endwalker added a bunch of new features to the game including raids, gear, systems, and new dungeons - as well as a male Viera as a new playable race, and a new tribe called Loporrits. There's also new areas to explore, a lunar landscape, Mare Lamentorum, and a new training ground for the Warriors of Light called Labyrinthos. If you're keen to know more about the Reaper, though, expect a job that's a lot darker than the Sage class and unlike current FFXIV classes. The recent FFXIV Fan Fest gave us a first look at the Reaper in action, as well as a Letter from the Producer that detailed job changes - so let's take a look at their abilities, what the Reaper can do with the avatar, and how to get the most out of this new class. PCGamesN Monday, December 6, 2021 9:49 AM Want to find out more about the Final Fantasy 14 Sage job? The FFXIV Endwalker expansion is here, adding new dungeons, raids, gear, and systems. Alongside the many new features, we've also got a new playable class - the Sage job. First introduced in Final Fantasy III and seen again in Final Fantasy Tactics, players have been long anticipating the arrival of the Sage class. The Sage job in FFXIV is a vastly different take on the job we've seen in previous games; instead of using powerful white and black magic or inflicting status hindering attacks, the Sage is a barrier healer, similar to the Scholar. This is the fourth healer to be added to Final Fantasy 14, to sit alongside the White Mage, Scholar, and Astrologian. It's one of two new jobs to be released with the Endwalker expansion, alongside the newly announced Reaper class. So, let's take a look at what we currently know about the Sage, the prerequisites to unlock the class, and how the Sage performs in combat. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, December 6, 2021 12:30 PM If I had to describe Mechajammer in a word, that word would be "brown". A second would be the sounds Joe Pesci makes in Home Alone. When the first few dilemmas you face in an RPG aren't ethical or character ones, but about whether it would be more tedious to continue with this character or to play through the introduction again, you know there's a problem. By my third restart I'd abandoned all interest in playing any character I wanted, and started trying to estimate whatever would get this over with sooner. Mechajammer is a disaster. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, December 6, 2021 11:00 AM The original Elex was divisive, to say the least. It was a game in which I was perpetually lonely and confused and being battered to death by carcinogenic poultry, but it must have been a profitable enough venture on its own terms to warrant a follow-up. That follow-up is Elex II, which is still several months away from release right now, but one I've been playing an early preview build of recently, showing off the first chapter of the game. I was talking to Graham (RPS in peace) about this and he said: "Eventually one of these RPG sci-fi fantasy things will get close enough to being a BioWare game that it makes loads of money." This being the games equivalent of monkeys and typewriters. But although I agreed with Graham at the time, I think comparing it to BioWare might be mistaking the particular appeal of Elex II. It would be too simple to say that I "enjoyed" the hours I have spent with it so far. I didn't not enjoy it. I mostly came away respecting it for how little it respected me. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, December 6, 2021 8:00 AM It's tough to keep the lid on the sixth RPS Advent Calendar door. There's almost too much banter, too many highjinks, too much quipping. It's enough to give you quiplash, I tells ya. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, December 6, 2021 7:59 AM Epic Games ended Chapter 2 of Fortnite over the weekend with a live in-game event which a live in-game event which involved a hole in reality, a UFO invasion, a sexy babe, and a new character played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The game's island flipped over too, revealing a whole new map for players to explore in Chapter 3 Season 1. And I find myself being lured in by two new features I usually adore in games: sliding on your knees while shooting, and swinging around like Spider-Man. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, December 6, 2021 7:35 AM Since 2018, Dragon Age fans have celebrated an unofficial Dragon Age Day on December 4th, highlighting all sorts of community work and events. This year, BioWare got involved too, releasing new short stories and hosting charity streams. They also took the opportunity to remind fans that Dragon Age 4 is still on the way, confirming that it'll be singleplayer. Don't get your hopes up for Game Awards news though, because it sounds like we won't hear any more about it until 2022. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, December 6, 2021 6:18 AM The breakout novelty simulator this year for me is Powerwash Simulator, a game about methodically moving your mouse over the surface of objects to blast away grime and rust with a murderously strong stream of water. It's not a chaotic system like Viscera Cleanup Detail, it's just a game where you slowly make something dirty all sparkling clean. Very chill. Now you can unwind with your pals and clean cars, toilets, fairground rides, and the rest together, thanks to the online co-op added in a recent update. |

PC Invasion - FeedDDD Monday, December 6, 2021 12:30 PM Forza Horizon 5 features a variety of in-universe radio stations that play a collection of real-world licensed tracks, ranging from pop, to drum & bass, to rock and more. It's a healthy tracklist that features artist both well known and otherwise, but after putting in a few dozen hours or so, you're bound to grow bored of the same old selection. Luckily, Forza Horizon 5 lets you add your own music to the game. Compatibility with Microsoft's somewhat defunct Groove Music service has been long dead after its inclusion in Forza Horizon 3. But, there are still some surprisingly simple ways that you can put your music into Forza Horizon 5. Keep in mind that whenever you want to play your own music, be sure to activate "Streamer Mode" in the game's settings. This disables most of the music that you'd usually hear when driving and during the loading screens. To access it, go to the Settings menu, then Audio, then scroll down to the very bottom.... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Monday, December 6, 2021 11:45 AM Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 1 has finally arrived. The launch of Fortnite's new chapter has seen the introduction of a sliding mechanic, a new map, weapons and items, and much more. Also, Epic Games has added a brand new mythic weapon into the battle royale that you will not want to miss out on. Here's how to get The Foundation's MK-Seven Assault Rifle mythic weapon in Fortnite — by defeating a boss. The boss you need to take on is located at the Sanctuary point of interest which is on the east side of the map. Here, you will find The Foundation boss roaming around the area. Upon approaching him, he will not be hostile, so you will have plenty of time to gather enough weapons and ammunition needed to defeat him. You will need plenty of loot as The Foundation boss has a lot of shields and health to break down. Apart from fighting back with his weapon, the boss will also chuck a boulder at you. So you better be quick on your feet. How powerful is The Foun... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Monday, December 6, 2021 11:31 AM Codemasters' GRID series has long held the pole position in the world of "simcade" racing for a lot of gamers out there. Whilst the last entry, GRID (2019), put a few speed bumps in the series momentum, it looks like the missteps taken have only added fuel to Codemasters chambers. The upcoming GRID Legends seeks to reel the series back in and once again provide the quality, high-octane racing gameplay that fans have come to know and love. From the handful hours I've spent with a special preview edition of GRID Legends, the only term that kept running through my mind was: "Cannonball!" Track time attack GRID Legends features racing discipline galore with a variety of vehicles both fictional and licensed that provide varying degrees of speed, handling and racing action. From drifting-tuned sports cars, to suspension-endowed racing trucks, GRID Legends looks to feature something for just about everyone. Its signature look and feel return, with... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Monday, December 6, 2021 10:30 AM Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 1 is here and the island has quite literally been flipped upside down. The new chapter has introduced a range of fresh content, including new points of interest, weapons, mechanics, and much more. Previously, sliding in Fortnite was leaked, leaving players wondering how it would work in the game. Now, you can try it out for yourself, as the game now allows you to slip and slide around the island. You can use the mechanic to move around much quicker. Also, you are able to shoot your weapon and build while you are in the sliding animation. Moreover, if you get knocked by an enemy, you can now crawl to safety much faster. At the same time, you can drop guns and materials to help your team mates while you are down, and you can pick items up in this state, too. The next chapter sees the rollout of new items including, a tent which has multiple uses. Once you throw it down, you can rest inside it as a way of healing up. In addition, you can store up to th... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Monday, December 6, 2021 10:09 AM The second dungeon you'll encounter as you stroll through Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker isn't quite as nasty as the first, but nonetheless, here's our Tower of Babil guide. In terms of trash mobs there's nothing too much to write home about here. If you want to do gargantuan pulls, then the only room you need to be careful of is the last one. There are a whole lot of mobs that hit hard, plus some environmental AoEs. As ever, while I'm not going to spoil any "story" in here, I will be naming all bosses and showing screenshots. So if you're not this far in the game yet, beware: spoilers await. Barnabas Attacks: Ground and Pound — Barnabas faces a party member and charges up a line AoE. Don't stand in the direction he's facing. Dynamic Scrapline — Barnabas charges up a circle AoE around himself, with a polarity charge. Note the polarity charge you have in comparison to his: equal polarities push each other away, while opposites attr... |
