PCGamesN Sunday, February 13, 2022 11:50 AM The long rumoured and desperately hoped for GoldenEye 007 remaster could be here as soon as the "next couple of weeks", according to a new report. The re-release of one of the best FPSs ever made should be coming to PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch at least - but will it be as soon as this month? It's been rumoured for a long time - or mostly, just really wished for - that Rare's N64 classic James Bond FPS GoldenEye 007 would finally get a multiplatform remaster and re-release. A year ago there was a leak of an entire prototype build for a GoldenEye remake that seemingly got cancelled, but just last month the game suddenly got an Achievements list - strongly suggesting a re-release was imminent. Now, according to games journalist Jeff Grubb on the latest GrubbSnax podcast - and apparently verified by a source of VGC - the GoldenEye 007 remaster is "probably still coming pretty soon", maybe even as soon as the "next couple of weeks". PCGamesN Sunday, February 13, 2022 10:41 AM Developer Krafton is still hard at work creating new PUBG Battlegrounds content, especially now that the battle royale has gone free-to-play at last, and now it's also trying to create "virtual humans" - animated NPCs who are "barely distinguishable" from real human actors, using artificial intelligence and the Unreal engine. Krafton has announced that it is working on building the technology to create CGI actors that are as close as possible to real people, which it dubs "virtual humans". The developer states that these CGI actors will be "able to convey deeply-expressive and nuanced emotions" with the aim of using "hyper-realism technology to create a digital character barely distinguishable from the real world". This technology would be used for "a variety of projects", which includes PUBG Battlegrounds and presumably will also involve Krafton's other titles, including the upcoming horror game The Callisto Protocol. The developer specifically notes that it is looking to create "game characters, esports, and virtual influencers/entertainers", and is even aiming for players to be able to directly speak with these NPCs in the future. PCGamesN Sunday, February 13, 2022 8:03 AM It's been three years since the release of The Division 2 and Ubisoft still hasn't revealed any The Division Heartland gameplay details, or anything much on the announced spin-off at all, really. Instead, a new leak has offered potential info on the game's modes - which make Heartland sound like a Tom Clancy version of Escape From Tarkov. In May last year, Ubisoft revealed that a new Division spin-off called Heartland was in production, a free-to-play multiplayer title by Red Storm that's currently down for a release later this year - however, the publisher still hasn't released any further info on what The Division Heartland will actually be like. Now, a new report by Xfire's Tom Henderson has seemingly shed some light on the shooter. According to Henderson's sources, who have apparently QA'd the game, Heartland will have at least two major game modes - PvPvE mode "Storm" and the PvE-based "Excursion". "Storm" is Heartland's main mode, and it sounds like it will play similar to survival experiences like Escape From Tarkov. |
PCGamesN Sunday, February 13, 2022 6:37 AM As the latest online MMO from Amazon after New World, Lost Ark was always going to be popular, especially as it's free-to-play. However, in just two days, the Lost Ark Steam player count has shot up to the point that it is now the second-highest in Steam's history - beating even Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2. Lost Ark was already enormously popular before it officially released, so much so that Amazon and developer Smilegate RPG had to add a lot more servers to let people play. However, Lost Ark's proper launch day as a free-to-play game was Friday, February 11 - and saw the MMO's concurrent player count peak become both the fifth game to break a million and also the fifth-highest player count ever. A day later and that player count peak has shot up even further to a new record, making Lost Ark not only the most popular game on Steam right now - but also the game with the second-highest concurrent player count peak in Steam's history. And it's only Lost Ark's second day. RELATED LINKS: Best MMOS and MMORPGs on PC, Upcoming PC games, Best fantasy games on PC |

Siliconera Sunday, February 13, 2022 9:00 AM Capcom will add new Silkbind attacks with the upcoming release of the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak expansion. While details are scarce, it's likely we'll get to learn more about the new actions and how to unlock them in the coming months. The Wirebug mechanic and Silkbind attacks were introduced in Monster Hunter Rise. Using the titular Wirebug, hunters can jump across maps, climb walls, and fight monsters with increased mobility. Silkbind attacks, on the other hand, are weapon-specific attacks that can do anything from negate damage to launching hunters into the air. Silkbind attacks also have the added benefit of getting monsters closer to a mountable state. There are three Silkbind attacks for all 14 weapon types, totaling 42 unique moves. Some of the moves are only available after players have unlocked them via quests. It's not the first time that Capcom has added entirely new mechanics with an expansion, either. In the Monster Hunter World Iceborne expansion, the company also introduced the Clutch Claw. Similar to the Wirebug, the Clutch Claw allowed hunters to grapple onto monsters and deal damage while riding them. Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak and the new Silkbind attacks will arrive sometime in Summer 2022. Monster Hunter Rise is immediately available to play on Nintendo Switch and PC. Siliconera Sunday, February 13, 2022 8:00 AM There is yet another Fate/Grand Order Valentine's Day chocolate recipe for those who are hoping to make a treat for themselves or their significant other. This time, the recipe will help you to create the Blessings of the Nile from Nitocris. You can also learn how to make the two Medjeds to look over the pyramids. [Thanks, Dengeki!] The recipe for the Fate/Grand Order Blessings of the Nile chocolates is fairly simple. To make the chocolate pyramids, you simply need to melt chocolate into molds. As for the Medjed chocolates, they are made with cream, peppermint, and black tea. After you freeze them, you remove them from the pans and attach the faces with chocolate. You can view the recipe here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTlWK7_tOMI This is a collaboration between Fate/Grand Order and recipe-sharing website Cookpad, with a total of five recipes. Aside from the Nitocris chocolates, there are also recipes for the sweet gifts from Astolfo, Okita J Souji, Arthur Pendragon, and Mash Kyrielight. Cookpad encourages those who make these recipes to share them on social media. Currently, both the English and the Japanese servers of Fate/Grand Order are running Valentine's Day events. During the event, you can obtain special currency in order to receive or gift chocolates to your Servants. Each Servant has a unique voiced event as they gift you the Valentine's Day Craft Essence. Unfortunately, the Craft Essence does not have any practical use outside of Valentine's Day event bonuses. Fate/Grand Order is readily available worldwide on mobile devices. The Fate/Grand Order chocolate recipes only appeared every day between February 7-11, 2022. The post Fate/Grand Order Nitocris Chocolate Recipe Includes Medjed appeared first on Siliconera. |
