PCGamesN Thursday, May 26, 2022 2:11 PM The Diablo Immortal release time is just about upon us. The action RPG game was initially planned as a mobile-only entry in the venerable Diablo series, but Blizzard announced in April that a PC open beta was coming, too - and that it would launch alongside the mobile version. Now that the Diablo Immortal release date is nigh, Blizzard has announced the global launch times as well. Due to the way mobile games are published and made available on various platforms' marketplaces, some users may see the app show up early, starting on the morning of June 1. Most will see it arrive at some point on June 2, although for certain time zones in Asia and Australia, that'll translate to June 3. You can preload Diablo Immortal now, however. On PC, you'll find it in the Battle.net app. You'll probably see a splash screen pop up when you launch the app that takes you directly to the Diablo Immortal page, but if that doesn't happen for some reason, select the 'Games' tab, then find the Diablo Immortal tile, and click the install button. |
PCGamesN Thursday, May 26, 2022 12:52 PM What are the best Minecraft servers? Servers make the world go round. Or, at least, the worlds of Minecraft. It is no secret that the PC community boasts the most ambitious players in the world, and there is no better evidence of this in action than our best Minecraft server list. The architectural artist's paradise, Minecraft has been a great creative outlet for players who can build to their heart's content, all without knowing a single line of code. Their works and ideas are immortalised in the best Minecraft servers. Every server is its own self-contained multiplayer world, with its own rules, gameplay style, and communities. We've had a hunt around to find the very best, featuring anything from breathtaking constructions and vistas to worlds with whole new rules and game modes. One thing to keep in mind is that different servers can sometimes use older versions of Minecraft. Plenty of servers have updated to the current 1.18 patch, but many other popular servers are sticking to older versions of the game for now. Make sure you check each server before jumping in to ensure you know what to expect. With that out of the way, come check out these excellent Minecraft servers. PCGamesN Thursday, May 26, 2022 12:37 PM What are the best Minecraft mods? It's a question that's been asked for generations – ever since a young Plato attempted to tweak his game at the knee of Socrates. Or something. As new Minecraft mods have been steadily flowing out since the game's first public release almost a decade ago, there's a whole heap to choose from. Minecraft is a blocky phenomenon. It's the only game that allows you to construct a castle the height of Jack's famous beanstalk and fall through an increasingly challenging abyss for an eternity - but it could do with some of the best Minecraft mods to improve things. From interface changes to tools to aid your hours of exploration, you have the option to make Mojang's classic even better on PC. The following list compiles some of the best Minecraft mods out there right now. All are divided into sections, depending on what you want to do with the game – from simple changes to deep, intricate Minecraft mods you can get lost in for months. PCGamesN Thursday, May 26, 2022 12:28 PM The Minecraft 1.19 release date is, theoretically, on the horizon. The next big update has a chunk of exciting things to look forward to, including the likes of frogs, the new allay mob, and the fearsome Minecraft Warden. Each of these brings something a little bit different to the game, but in the case of the Warden, at least, it seems Mojang really wants it to terrorize us. If you don't believe us, just check out the latest notes for Minecraft 1.19 pre-release 3, which almost immediately followed pre-release 2, presumably because of the Warden's demands. While the bulk of the notes here are about bug fixes, there are a couple of key Warden changes that are worth talking about. The first of these is that if the Warden gets stuck in a liquid, it will now angrily despawn instead of digging. We're not sure how one angrily despawns, but we're excited to see it. The other big change, and this is the one that specifically came in for version three of the pre-release, is that "Wardens' sonic boom attack now bypasses the damage reduction by armour enchantments such as Protection." This makes the Warden a little more intense, because it shows that Mojang means for this enemy to be avoided, not cheesed. RELATED LINKS: Minecraft console commands, Minecraft skins, Minecraft mods |

Thankfully, some of the fastest PCIe 4.0 storage can be had for its lowest ever price right now on Amazon. UK bargain hunters have plenty to celebrate too, with the NVMe solid state drive down to just £77.99 (-40%) from its regular £129.99 asking price. PCGamesN Thursday, May 26, 2022 11:00 AM It's Thursday once again, which means it's time for a new free PC game at the Epic Games Store. Epic is currently running its Epic Mega Sale, and it's pulling out some of the big guns to celebrate. Starting today, BioShock: The Collection is free to keep, and it includes every BioShock game and DLC made to date. To get specific, BioShock: The Collection includes BioShock Remastered, BioShock 2 Remastered, and BioShock Infinite: The Complete Edition. That version of Infinite includes the main game, the add-on packs Clash in the Clouds and Burial at Sea, Episodes 1 and 2, plus the Industrial Revolution rewards pack, the BioShock Infinite Upgrade Pack, Columbia's Finest pack, Comstock's China Broom Shotgun, and Comstock's Bird's Eye Sniper Rifle. In other words, it's the full kit, updated for more modern PCs. Each BioShock game was important in its own way, and they've all prompted interesting discussions about how games handle narrative and player agency. At their core, they're dazzling-looking FPS games that take you through wildly imaginative worlds - all while you guzzle questionable concoctions and listen to the ravings of unhinged plutocrats. |
PCGamesN Thursday, May 26, 2022 10:59 AM There's now an Oculus Quest 2 mod that arms your device with prescription lenses, something that could make all the difference while using Meta's best VR headset. By using DIY lens adaptors, players can now delve into VR games without having to compromise sight or comfort, and you can even 3D print them at home. Created by Tanvach, the Oculus Quest 2 lens adapters are also compatible with the original Quest and Rift S headsets (via Hackaday) While you're going to need to order specific round lenses to fit into the 3D printed part, Tanvach includes instructions on how to order. Once you've got the right prescription parts to hand, all you need to do is print the parts. If you rock a pair of spectacles, you'll know how awkward using wearable technology can be. Slowly, but surely, the industry is starting to accommodate enthusiasts with something already occupying their face, as there's even an Acer laptop with a 3D screen that doesn't require additional goggles. PCGamesN Thursday, May 26, 2022 12:03 PM Every Elden Ring player can probably name their favourite encounters in FromSoftware's hugely successful RPG game, but now director Hidetaka Miyazaki has weighed in on his favourite Elden Ring bosses. Speaking in an interview with Xbox Wire Japan, Miyazaki names Starscourge Radahn as his favourite boss in the open-world game, saying that he both likes him as a standalone character and enjoys the setting of the Radahn Festival. 'It's literally a festive time,' says Miyazaki (via translation by GamesRadar+). Miyazaki recalls that when he first brought up the idea of the festival, which features a number of Elden Ring NPCs gathering at Redmane Castle to square off in battle against the dramatic demigod and his scrawny steed, 'no one on the team took it seriously.' He names his runner-up boss fights as Godrick the Grafted and Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy. Elsewhere in the interview, Miyazaki speaks to some of his other influences, naming The Elder Scrolls series, The Witcher 3, and Breath of the Wild as some of his most notable open-world inspirations. He also responds to a comment from Xbox Wire Japan asking if there is a way to avoid looking at Elden Ring's nightmarish 'spider hand' enemy, saying that it's one of his favourite designs. He asks simply, 'Isn't it possible to overcome it by looking at it steadily and defeating it?' RELATED LINKS: The best Elden Ring builds, Elden Ring bosses, The best Elden Ring classes |

PCGamesN Thursday, May 26, 2022 9:57 AM HDPLEX has unveiled the world's smallest ATX PSU, and it could help modders transform retro consoles into mini gaming PCs. The 200W power supply features a passive cooling system that eliminates the need for fans, with the whole package measuring just slightly larger than a cell phone. Over on the HDPLEX site, the company showcases the world's smallest ATX PSU, demonstrating its remarkable size and specs. Negating the need for fans plays a role in reducing the power supply's footprint, something that's attributed to the use of gallium nitrate technology. By using GaN cooling and an aluminium alloy body, the gaming PC part is able to keep temperatures low without the use of fans, ultimately allowing it to shrink its dimensions. If the dinky ATX PSU's 200W isn't enough, HDPLEX says you can sync two units together to achieve double wattage. Naturally, this trades away its world's smallest status, but it's still an extremely low profile solution that beats traditional mini ATX options in terms of power and size. PCGamesN Thursday, May 26, 2022 9:20 AM You don't need a space age gaming PC to meet the Hardspace: Shipbreaker system requirements, as the specs required to start your salvaging career at Lynx Corp are relatively modest. That said, anyone looking to run the game at a higher frame rate than 60fps should equip their system with one of the best graphics cards. The Hardspace: Shipbreaker system requirements are particularly forgiving when it comes to storage, requiring an extremely modest 4GB of space from the best SSD for gaming. The same can somewhat be said in terms of gaming RAM too, with developer Blackbird Interactive suggesting you'll need 8GB at minimum, but recommending 16GB. Using an Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 or AMD Radeon R9 380, you can expect to run Hardspace: Shipbreaker at 30fps. Meanwhile, those with GPUs that are at least as powerful as a GTX 980 Ti or RX Vega 56 should be able to boost fps to 60 frames per second. However, it's unclear what settings you'll need to achieve this level of performance. RELATED LINKS: Best SSD for gaming, How to build a gaming PC, Best gaming CPU |
PCGamesN Thursday, May 26, 2022 9:09 AM OEMs are reportedly selling Nvidia laptop GPUs as desktop mining cards, and it's helping crypto miners dodge Lite Hash Rate restrictions. While the best gaming laptops featuring RTX 3060 and RTX 3070 chips haven't been hit as hard as their fully-fledged gaming PC counterparts, the commercial practice could contribute to ongoing shortages. Highlighted by Videocardz, I_Leak_VN shares evidence of repurposed Nvidia laptop GPUs as mining cards on Twitter. The leaker shows photos of what appears to be a desktop 'RTX 3070M' card, accompanied by specs on Taobao that confirm laptop chip suspicions. While the parts are being marketed toward mining, they don't feature specific OEM markings, but I_Leak_VN suspects small Chinese manufacturers like Huananzhi may be behind the products. This isn't the first time we've heard of GPUs being transformed into cryptocurrency components, as there's rumoured to be a mining rig that uses recycled PS5 chips. Of course, digital currency enthusiasts don't really have to get creative with alternatives, as there are ways to bypass hash rate limiters on desktop cards. PCGamesN Thursday, May 26, 2022 9:24 AM What is the GTA podium car this week? GTA Online vehicles are expensive things, so we're happy to take a spin on the Diamond Casino's Lucky Wheel to get a discount. Winning isn't guaranteed, sure, but it isn't out of the question either. Look, we don't have a problem - leave it alone. Finding out what the GTA Online podium car is simple enough - it's winning it that's the challenge. You can spin the Diamond Casino's Lucky Wheel once a day, and each Podium Car refreshes after seven days on a Thursday. Basically, you have seven shots to get the vehicle of that given week. If you own a Penthouse, you can spin it for free, but if you don't it's $500 a spin. Don't fret if you don't win, as you can try for something else. You have a one in 20 chance of getting the podium vehicle, a car discount, or a mystery prize. There's a four in 20 chance of getting clothes, chips, and cash. Finally, there's a five in 20 chance of getting RP. On that note, here's everything you need to know about this week's GTA podium car. RELATED LINKS: GTA 5 mods, GTA 6, Buy GTA V |
PCGamesN Thursday, May 26, 2022 12:32 PM Searching for the best Elden Ring builds? The first 20 levels shape your entire Elden Ring class, so it's important to select your stats carefully. While it may be tempting to place some stat points into faith as an Astrologer, you're probably better off committing to the full sorcery build in order to maximise your damage in the late game. But what are the best Elden Ring builds? Well some loadouts - such as the Hoarfrost Stomp build - aren't as powerful as they used to be, but new ones are rising to take their place, such as Swarm of Flies. If you've found that your build has been nerfed, never fear - grab a certain Elden Ring Great Rune and you'll be able to unlock character respec, and you can simple create a new one! Elden Ring's deep character customisation options make this one special RPG game, but if you're looking to destroy your enemies with ease you need to create a powerful Tarnished. Here's what you need to create the best Elden Ring builds, including where to allocate your stat points and which items you need to find. PCGamesN Thursday, May 26, 2022 10:16 AM Minecraft enchantments can be crafted using an enchanting table and are how you create magic armour, weapons, and tools in Minecraft. There is a significant gamble associated with enchantments in Minecraft, as there's no way of knowing what the enchanting table will spit out when you're done. You could end up wasting a perfectly good diamond sword, or you could imbue it with the Fire Aspect enchantment so that it also deals burn damage with each strike. As you can probably tell, Minecraft enchantments are very powerful, and you'll want to rack up as many as possible to stand the best chance of surviving in this cruel, blocky world. To offset their extraordinary power, getting to the stage where you can build and use a Minecraft enchanting is no mean feat, and there are a lot of steps involved in creating a weapon with a decent enchantment. Join us as we break down the basics on building a Minecraft enchanting table, using enchantments, and offering some additional tips on this advanced crafting mechanic. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, May 26, 2022 12:00 PM Gather round the fire, rogue likers and roguelike likers. In a moment of high folly, perhaps hubris, Unexplored 2 has arrived to these lands to preach the benefits of novelty and moreish dungeon delving. This is a chonker of a roguelike RPG, in which long-held assumptions about how the genre ought to be designed are thrown away, while others are strictly obeyed. The designers of this colourful 'splorer have rubbed their chins and decided to see what our beloved randomly generated death tales would look like without two sacred cows: money and meters. Folks, it looks kinda good. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, May 26, 2022 11:56 AM A digital artist has created a stylish mockup of a roguelike (maybe even a Roguelike) which looks like printed screenshots in a magazine. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, May 26, 2022 11:06 AM Players of hit vamp 'em up V Rising have taken to the game's Discord server to request an anti-phobia mode to make some of its creatures easier on the eyes. It seems the offending boss in this particular instance is Ungora the Spider Queen, a high-level giant arachnid (the worst kind) who's set up a fetching gothic domicile in the Cursed Forest's Spider Cave. According to the mission summary for Ungola: "No living creature save for her children has ever entered and lived to tell the tale." That's enough to put anyone off. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, May 26, 2022 11:05 AM This week on the Electronic Wireless Show PC gaming podcast we're talking about the best our favourite noble failures, like the time I tried to make feta and red onion breakfast muffins. Ne'er touch the muffin pan since. No, of course it's our favourite video games that made big swings but didn't quite hit, a Nate Crowley-backed themed - and he kicks us off with a bid discussion about the infamous Jurassic Park tie-in game Trespasser. Try spelling "jurassic" properly first time; I've never been able too. Diversions this week are discussing classic UK subterranean tourist attractions Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge, and how Matthew's life could have been different if only he'd been Wookey Hole's witch mascot. Nate has bought a model kit for one of those massive excavation machines, which he says is "about as big as an Alsatian" and "basically a bin-bag full of girders". So he is turning it into an Orc sewage treatment plant. Standard week to be honest. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, May 26, 2022 10:00 AM It's tempting to make a bunch of jokes about Two Point Campus in the vein of, "A nudist knight and a wizard studying the dark arts? Sounds like my freshman year!" and then chortle at the open mic night audience. It's also tempting to say something like, "You know Two Point Hospital? It's like that, but at a university," but that would also be the lazy way out. In reality, the weirdest person I knew at uni only wore a top hat and an opera cape to campus once as a joke (and now has a proper job), and Two Point Campus is actually a way more complex and weird management sim than Two Point Studios' previous - and indeed, ongoing - hospital effort. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, May 26, 2022 9:00 AM When I saw the new Scream film earlier this year, the audience was a mix of zoomers sitting at the back giggling at how rubbish it was, and people my age and older fighting the urge to go, "No, see, it's actually really cool and good how they say what the plot is and then that actually is the plot!" There were just too many layers to peel off the metafictional onion for a generation who didn't love the original Scream from 1996. Heck, Scream 5 even opens with a joke about how kids today only like 'prestige' horror like The Babadook. I'm convinced that there's a middle ground, where you can have a slasher horror that loves the tropes and knows how to work them, but still feels smart and fresh in 2022. And, preferably, stars pro-wrestler and part-time actor David Arquette. This week I played some of The Quarry. |

Siliconera Thursday, May 26, 2022 3:00 PM People will have a second chance to get Nendoroids of the Konosuba characters. Good Smile Company announced it will once again offer the Aqua, Darkness, Kazuma, Megumin, and Yunyun figures. In the case of Kazuma and Yunyun, this is the first time they've returned since their 2018 debuts. Meanwhile, this is the fourth time Aqua will be rereleased. Most of them are ¥5,900/$53.99. However, Megumin is slightly more expensive at ¥6,100/$55.99. As one might expect, each of these Konosuba Nendoroids come with the same items they did the first time around. Each one has three face plates. Everyone has their signature weapon. In the case of Megumin, you also get some magic effect parts and an eyepatch. Aqua, Darkness, and Megumin come with special bases as a Good Smile Company store pre-order bonus. Kazuma's pre-order bonus is a folded jersey he can carry. Yunyun's is a pair of bunny ears. Here are some photos of the figures, including a few official ones of them with other Nendoroids in the cast. This comes about a year after the debut of some accessories for these figures. Back in September 2021, Good Smile Company added the Konosuba characters Aqua, Darkness, and Megumin to the Swacchao Nendoroid line. This meant people could get sitting versions of the cast members compatible with their past Nendoroid releases. Siliconera Thursday, May 26, 2022 12:10 PM The most recent Hatsune Miku: Project Diva console game is now available on PCs. People can find Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega Mix+ on Steam. It is $39.39 for the game. That's the same price as the Switch release. The price is a pun, as her name could be seen as Mi (3) ku (9). There is also a $59.99 VIP bundle. This is one of the larger Hatsune Miku games. The base game comes with 170 tracks. It also lets people choose if they want the Vocaloids to go with the Mega Mix original style or look like they do in Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone. While there are modules to change characters' looks, another feature involves designing your own t-shirts for Vocaloids to wear. You can learn more in Siliconera's feature on this version of the game.
As for the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega Mix+ VIP bundle on Steam, it basically includes all DLC for the game. People get an Extra Song Pack with 72 more songs. It also immediately unlocks all items, so people can customize characters as they'd like. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega Mix first appeared on the Nintendo Switch in 2020. It is a tenth anniversary project with both new and old songs. Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega Mix+ is available on PCs via Steam. Siliconera Thursday, May 26, 2022 12:00 PM Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega Mix+ is here! The franchise's debut on PC, the shadowdropped Mega Mix+ iterates on the series' more recent entries. Interested? We've spent some time with it and can tell you what you need to know. What's Project Diva Mega Mix?If you're a PC-only player, you may need a quick primer on Project Diva as a whole! And we're happy to help. Starring Hatsune Miku and her Vocaloid pals, Diva is about hitting D-pad directions and face buttons at precise times. Rather than sticking to a line, the prompts can show up all over the place, and when the symbols line up, hit the button. This all shows up over cool and fun music videos, which you're too distracted to watch while you're playing. Originally released on the Nintendo Switch, Mega Mix bundled a heck of a lot of songs from the franchise's arcade releases into one package. Like PlayStation 4 release Future Tone before it, this approach goes for quantity of content over a console-like structure. There's no narrative! Instead, the focus is on options. Costumes! Button prompts and sounds! Whatever can keep you going through the 170-plus included songs. (A DLC pack adds another 72.) What's different in this new Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega Mix+ PC version?Well… it's on PC? That may sound like a cop-out, but it's important in a number of ways. First: content-wise, it's very similar to the Switch release. If you've played and enjoyed that one, there's not a heck of a lot here for you; it's really trying to reach a new audience with the same game. A few little extras here and there might be of interest to super-fans, like being able to play songs in both Mega Mix and Future Tone visual modes. The poppy Mega Mix look was designed to look nice with the lower visual fidelity of the Switch, while Future Tone uses more realistic lighting. Still, being on PC has consequences! You can use all sorts of controllers and play at higher resolutions, given patience for a bit of configuration that comes with most PC titles. Our first play using a DualShock 4 loaded up an incorrect button layout and didn't default to PlayStation icons, so that was a fun few minutes! And lag will vary, depending on your setup. (It's probably why we've loved this series most on the handheld Vita and Switch, since that's not an issue.) We'd definitely recommend using some sort of controller, despite the game's theoretical keyboard support. After all, Project Diva is designed specifically with four buttons in a diamond shape for each hand! It can be sort of clunky to play any other way, even if it's doable. This freedom also comes with benefits. We're for sure going to see expert play on some truly weird control setups. The modding community will likely jump at the opportunity to mess with an entry in the series for the first time. New costumes and songs? They might have something to say about that. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega Mix+ is available now on PC via Steam. The original Mega Mix can be found on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Mixi has announced that the collaboration event will run from May 27 to June 2, 2022. Players of the mobile game will be able to recruit the Forger family to their unit collection. A limited gacha pool will appear for the duration of the event. It will give a chance for players to obtain Loid, Yor, and Anya Forger as party members. Players can also enhance the characters using specific materials, which will not only boost their stats but also give them new visuals. The Monster Strike crossover event will also add Good Job stamps featuring more Spy x Family characters other than Loid, Yor, and Anya. [gallery ids="928194,928196,928198,928195,928197,928199" link="file"] Monster Strike is a mobile game where players collect and enhance monsters and characters to place them in battles. Siliconera Thursday, May 26, 2022 11:01 AM The Capcom Fighting Collection is exactly what it implies. Several classic Capcom arcade titles are bundled together. While notable titles like Street Fighter II and entries in the Darkstalkers series are available, you also have more niche games like Red Earth appearing. However, after some hands-on time with a PC preview build, it seems another part of what may make this bundle worthwhile outside of its roster of fighting games is what is available via its extra features. Perhaps one of the most significant of these features in the Capcom Fighting Collection is the Museum, a digital archive that not only features concept art, but also scans of Japan-exclusive pamphlets and other promotional materials. Some of these galleries in this build were quite extensive. A handful of these collections including upwards of 50 pieces of artwork. In some cases, there are even short animations that go over the conceptualization of certain moves and clean scans of game manuals. From a preservation standpoint, these could end up proving to be really impressive and incredible additions. Especially when gallery features for specific games can sometimes tend to be sparse. That said, in this build certain titles were definitely lacking in that department. But based on this version, consumers may be pleasantly surprised to see just how dense the galleries for Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors and Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness are. Naturally, there is also an option to playback music from the games here. The game also allows for players to pick which version of the game they would like to play, if the option is available. This feels significant for fighting game enthusiasts. However, there were generally only two options between each game in this PC build. There would be a Japanese and US version available to toggle between. Additionally, each version is given an accompanying code for players to completely understand what iteration they're playing. Capcom has also outlined certain changes that will be appearing in the collection to fix known bugs or issues. For example, for the Hyper Street Fighter II - Anniversary Edition - bundled in with the collection, changes have been made to Blanka and Guile. However, not every game had changes in the build of Capcom Fighting Collection I played. Titles like Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo virtually remained the same as their original releases. Another change is the final game will also feature rollback netcode. However, I was not able to test this, so milage may vary depending on where a player is located. The artwork in the games also, potentially to the surprise of no one, remains fantastic. The animations were snappy in this PC build. Character designs and animations are distinct, and while not overly detailed at times, still bleed with an incredible amount of personality. When all is said and done, the Capcom Fighting Collection seems like it will keep these classic titles alive. Especially through features like its Museum, which allow for access to pieces of hard to obtain concept art and promotional materials. Capcom Fighting Collection will release for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on June 24, 2022. Siliconera Thursday, May 26, 2022 8:30 AM The official Final Fantasy VII Remake account continues its campaign of releasing concept art pieces and insights into the game's development. The latest drop in the feed of FFVII Remake concept art is a series of location shots depicting the Sector 5 Slums. As with previous FFVII Remake concept art drops, the images were shared via Twitter.
[gallery ids="928169,928168,928167,928166" link="file"] The images show off a number of location concepts for the Sector 5 slums, which is also Aerith's hometown in Midgar. According to the details in the post, the team noted that the original game included points of interest like houses made from industrial-size pipes and earthen tunnels. They considered expanding on that concept for the FFVII Remake take on the Sector 5 slums by making entire buildings and residential complexes out of piled-up industrial refuse. Indeed, in Final Fantasy VII Remake, many buildings in the expanded vision of the Sector 5 slums are connected or assembled from large numbers of metal piping. The team also noted that while they weren't implemented in-game, the concepts for the Sector 5 Slums in FFVII Remake included various tricks such as "dummy doors" and even a house for the character Mireille. For further comparison, check out a video below from Youtuber Final FantTV, which uses the PC edition of FFVII Remake to explore the Sector 5 church, Aerith's house, and other scenes from the original with a mod that replicates the PS1 version's static camera. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoPcSBjb90c Final Fantasy VII Remake is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. However, it'll be missing one of the modes that made the studios' recent games stand out. The online multiplayer mode won't make the release date for The Quarry and will instead be delayed until July 8. The announcement came via Twitter earlier today. In a message, Supermassive wrote that it "made the difficult decision to delay the online multiplayer mode" of The Quarry. During the three-week time, the developer will work on it to "deliver the best possible experience." The Quarry will still launch with local co-op and movie mode for its campaign, but those hoping to survive with a buddy online are out of luck for a short time. PC Invasion - FeedDDD Thursday, May 26, 2022 12:04 PM Vocaloids are animated or illustrated characters who sing using a voicebank. They effectively work by having a singer record their vocals, and then artists use those recordings to create music. It's a unique idea that started out in Japan, gaining traction rapidly over the last 15 years or so. The most popular Vocaloid of all is Hatsune Miku. She's so popular that she even has a series of rhythm games named after her. And now that series makes its debut on PC with Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix+. Wow, that is a mouthful. There has only ever been one Hatsune Miku game on PC, and it wasn't one of the mainline rhythm games. Instead, we got Hatsune Miku VR, a virtual reality game that some felt was more of a tech demo than a major release. Given the wait for a mainline game, there's pressure on Project DIVA Mega Mix+ to deliver. A rhythm game is only ever as good as its song list. There are over 170 different Vocaloid tracks in Mega Mix+, making this one... |
