PCGamesN Wednesday, June 12, 2024 12:32 PM Nvidia has famously been skyrocketing in value recently, off the back of its specialist AI chips being snapped up in the tens of thousands with huge profit margins. That appears to have struck a nerve - or at least been noticed - with Nvidia's main chip manufacturing partner, TSMC, hinting that it could increase its GPU production prices for Nvidia, so it can reap a little more of what Nvidia is sowing. How this might affect future pricing of the best graphics cards is hard to say, as the implication here is that TSMC would be charging more for higher-profit items, rather than just charging more across the board. However, it does give us a little cause for concern, as if TSMC does raise its prices to produce gaming GPUs, we would reasonably expect Nvidia to pass on the price hike to consumers. A one-day screening of One Piece on Ice will be held in theaters nationwide in Japan on July 9, 2024. This event will include a live stage greeting from the cast, featuring Masama Uno as Monkey D. Luffy, Marin Honda as Vivi, Takahito Mura as Crocodile, and Rika Hongo as Mr. 2 Bon Clay, and the stage greeting will be broadcast live to participating theaters.
The screening is designed to celebrate the return of One Piece on Ice- Episode of Alabaster, which originally appeared in 2023. This show could be compared to the Disney on Ice ones held in North America, as it combines events from the One Piece anime and manga with figure skating. Various skaters perform tricks as characters set to the anime's dialogue, enhanced by projection mapping and light effects.
The event will take place at Marunouchi Piccadilly in Tokyo, with tickets priced at 5,500 yen (approximately $50 USD). Pre-order tickets are available from June 13-18, 2024, with general sales starting on June 22, 2024. Live viewing tickets for theaters nationwide will be priced at 4,500 yen (approximately $41 USD), with pre-orders open from June 13-23, 2024 and general sales from July 4-8, 2024. There is no word yet if the performance could also be broadcast outside of Japan.
The One Piece manga is available outside Japan via Viz Media, while Crunchyroll and Netflix feature the anime. The live action series is on Netflix.

MegaHouse announced the Variable Action Heroes figure of Shanks from One Piece will return, with the latest iteration of the anime character now wearing an actual cloth cloak. Stores like AmiAmi and Big Bad Toy Store are already taking pre-orders for the 10,450円 (~$67) item ahead of its October 2024 debut.
This version of Shanks is inspired by his Four Emperors appearance in One Piece. He has a cloth cape this time around. His sword is also available, either for him to wield or holster in his scabbard. He comes with three face plates, with two notable ones showing him laughing or looking determined. He also comes with different hand parts for various poses.
Here's a better look at how the figure will appear once he's released:
The original Shanks One Piece Variable Action Heroes figure debuted back in 2017. When it launched, it cost 8,800円 (~$56.35). However, it didn't feature some of the same features as this new version. For example, that release had a plastic cape, rather than a cloth one.
The Version 1.5 Variable Action Heroes Shanks figure will launch in Japan in October 2024. The One Piece anime is on Crunchyroll, the live-action show is on Netflix, and Viz Media handles the manga.

Monster Hunter World catapulted the Monster Hunter series to international acclaim. Yes, the game had a solid following in Japan since its inception, and even dedicated pockets of fans appeared internationally. But World is what truly captivated a massive audience. With Monster Hunter Wilds following that success, it seems like everyone who enjoyed Capcom's latest forays into the series could end up impressed with the next installment. I had the opportunity to check out a presentation for Monster Hunter Wilds at Summer Game Fest. Wilds looks to be something that so greatly improves upon the foundations set by one of Capcom's best-selling titles that it feels like this entry will be another massive success for the developer.
What I have to say will more than likely echo already positive sentiment about the direction that Monster Hunter Wilds appears to be heading. The game is gorgeous, and the improvements to the foundations laid by Monster Hunter World and Rise are impressive. The lack of loading screens, the sheer verticality of the map, and the way the world feels alive due to the use of endemic life and persistent storms looks like it could be incredible. But this is Capcom expanding upon what the series has done in the past, because Monster Hunter has always managed to make its locales and worlds feel very much alive.
Monster Hunter Wilds just continues to iterate on that in the tried and true way of if something isn't broken, it doesn't need fixing. Instead, Capcom is just adding a few more bells and whistles to an already successful formula. Players can summon a mount similar to how they can in Monster Hunter Rise, except now there is an "auto-run" feature where your new feathered friend will automatically follow pyrefiles to your objective or the monster you are trailing as you sharpen your weapon or chow down on grilled meat to restore your stamina. Your Palico also talks now for some reason, and I'm not entirely sure if I like that decision. (I'll miss the meowing, truth be told.)
Players can also set up camp at various spots around the map to quickly change weapons and armor. However, these spots can be destroyed by monsters, which I feel is a nice touch. Speaking of weapons, players can now equip two at a time, with the presentation I saw showcasing the Greatsword and Longsword. Both weapons looked devastating, and while I've hung up my Greatsword, the mobility and option to block attacks from monsters with that massive blade made it look extremely appealing.
But I still couldn't get over how gorgeous the game looked or how alive it felt during the footage presented. I personally have an issue with these games feeling lonely, like I'm just wandering around looking for something without anything to signal true reactiveness in the world I'm trudging through. Monster Hunter World was decent enough in that with monsters roaming in and out of regions, and Rise had the same. But Wilds takes this a step further with the aforementioned endemic life changing and even migrating under various weather conditions. During the presentation, we saw the small toad-bird hybrid creatures nesting in a tree, their young croaking for insects. We saw the environment change during a "phase of abundance," with more greenery sprouting up on one section of the map, and changing again when that phase ended.
It feels like there is a lot to discover in Wilds, outside of the obvious improvements. There are new monsters, reactive weather conditions, monsters lurking behind every corner or slithering beneath the sands. And even if the monster designs shown thus far aren't to my liking, I cannot wait to play this next installment in the Monster Hunter series.
Monster Hunter Wilds is currently in development for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC and is set to release simultaneously worldwide in 2025. Capcom confirmed crossplay at Summer Game Fest 2024.

On social media, Tekken 8 Producer Katsuhiro Harada discussed people's crossover character suggestions and, during so, brought up the Tekken 7 DLC fighter Geese Howard from The King of Fighters. He went over how Geese wasn't the only option considered, as well as noted the reaction from people when he was announced.
First, Harada discussed The King of Fighters Tekken 7 crossover character and potential for future ones when responding to someone who suggested Iori Yagami for Tekken 8. He noted that Yagami was also a possible choice. However, he picked Geese to go up against Heihachi Mishima.
Harada followed that up with a response to someone discussing Virtua Fighter's Jacky Bryant joining Tekken 8. He said if there was a new installment, that would be a character he'd consider. However, in the comment to that he noted how some people had no idea who Geese was when he ended up being added to Tekken 7.
All of these responses came up when Harada shared some informal Twitter polls gauging interest in Tekken characters. The first mentioned Anna, Eliza, Katarina, and Julia/Michelle, with the Julia/Michelle option winning. The second included Josie, Kazumi, Kunimitsu, and Lucky Chloe, with Lucky Chloe winning that vote.
Tekken 8 is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and Lidia is the next DLC character. Tekken 7 is on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Bandai Namco not only announced a new Elden Ring sales milestone, but it also revealed a new trailer to help people catch up with the game ahead of Shadow of the Erdtree. As of June 2024, 25 million people worldwide bought the game.
First, here's the Elden Ring sales milestone announcement. As a reminder, the last update came in February 2023. At that point, the game was at 20 million copies sold. So it took about a year and four months to sell an additional 5 million.
Next, here's the new Elden Ring "The Journey so Far" trailer. It acts as a reminder of what to expect from this FromSoftware Soulslike and goes over the backstory for the main adventure.
While this Elden Ring trailer is more focused on things we'd seen leading up to the add-on, there was another one that pertained to new content recently as well. The story trailer for the expansion appeared at the end of May 2024. It suggested what new tidbits of lore we'll encounter.
Ahead of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, we've also seen a number of other related items. For example, an Erdtree's Favor necklace is on the way. Yen Press also released the third volume of the comedic manga series based on the game. However, one item won't be available before or just after launch. Bandai Namco noted there's an issue with the Shadow of the Erdtreeart book, so that will ship later.
Elden Ring is on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Windows PC, and the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC debuts on June 21, 2024.

Ahead of the 2.3 Honkai: Star Rail update, a new Keeping Up with Star Rail gameplay video focused on highlighting all of the moves Firefly can use in battle. This time, Owlbert and Welt explained everything we can expect from the new five-star Fire Destruction unit.
Editor's Note: There will be spoilers for the 2.0 Penacony Honkai: Star Rail storyline and Firefly in the Keeping Up with Star Rail gameplay video and article before.
As confirmed by the events in Penacony and the latest story trailer, Firefly is actually the Stellaron Hunter SAM. SAM is a suit she wears when in combat. This transformation is shown in-game. When walking around areas, people will see Firefly. In-battle, she'll fight inside the SAM suit.
The video begins by showing the Skill Order: Aerial Bombardment. Firefly sacrifices health to increase energy, advance her next action, and deal damage to one enemy. So she gets a buff and attacks. Her Chrysalid Pyronexus Talent makes her take less damage when her HP is lower, can cause regeneration, and removes debuffs when health is restored. The Ultimate Fyrefly Type-IV: Complete Combustion sends her into Complete Combustion mode. This lets her attack again and enhances her attack and skill. Her basic attack deals more damage and heals her. The Enhanced Skill applies Fire weakness to all enemies, restores her health, while dealing Fire damage to one enemy and those adjacent to it.
Here's the full gameplay video showing Firefly and SAM in Honkai: Star Rail.
Firefly's signature Light Cone was also revealed. It is called Metamorphosis, and any Destruction character can use it. In addition to increasing the Break Effect of its wearer by 60%, it also causes a Routed debuff to be applied to attacked enemies to increase the amount of break damage they take and decrease their speed. It is only available in limited-time banners.
Honkai: Star Rail is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and Firefly (and SAM) will be playable in the 2.3 update on June 19, 2024.
