I think the first Dark Souls game quite literally saved me. It's a bit surprising that more studios haven't picked up where Spore left off in the many years between now and its 2008 launch. While games like Bugsnax and No Man's Sky offer up similarly bizarre casts of creatures to meet and simulation games like Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey have portrayed the evolution of a species, it isn't until now that we've seen such a direct attempt at a successor as the new indie project Strange Seed. Fortunately, anyone eager to see how the game is shaping up can give it a spin right now thanks to the launch of a demo on Steam.

The Acer Predator X45 is a huge 45-inch OLED display that, for several reasons, is essentially a bit of a poor fit for a normal desktop gaming PC setup. However, if you're after a single, large, wraparound screen for a racing or flight sim rig, it's an ideal choice. Its 240Hz refresh rate, ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio, and dazzling image quality make for a lot of fun in plenty of other scenarios too.

The beauty of cards is that they can be anything. You can slap together a working game with them in a couple of minutes. Take 12 blanks, doodle some faces and landscapes, and lo, you have a procedural narrative generator. Make some duplicates, invent a few rules and lo, you have systems.

Conversely, the great drawback of cards - especially in those roguelite deckbuilders people have been churning out since Slay The Spire - is that everything can be reduced to them. For example: last night, I played a round of Fungi with my partner, Fungi being a charming tabletop foraging sim in which you gather scrumptious chantarelles and boletus from the forest floor. This morning I resumed playing Breachway, out now in early access, in which you guide a starship through a series of wartorn solar systems, with battles unfolding as a turn-based exchange of cards corresponding to ship components.

As befits the "very normal gardening game" that puzzly mystery box Grunn winkingly bills itself as, the first tool I obtained was a pair of shears. The second tool I obtained was a trumpet. It doesn't really work like a trumpet, and it does things no regular trumpet could or should do. I got a trowel next. Here's the thing about the trowel: it's a pretty good trowel. Nothing fancy. But recently, I keep digging up… objects. Objects most peculiar. I've got the weekend to sort this garden, and a cosy little shed to sleep in, so I really should just get on with it. Again, though, I must reiterate: I keep digging up… objects.

I go to clean some rubbish from the bathroom. I interact with the mirror and the game says: "You do not see anything in the mirror". I take a note that says: I do not see anything in the mirror. I check the game again and no, I still do not see anything in the mirror. Sure it's fine. Just a shit mirror, probably. They should get it replaced. What good is a mirror you can't see anything in?

8 My Time at Evershine Characters Detailed love interests romance options

Pathea Games took to social media to begin revealing some of the profiles for My Time at Evershine characters. So far, only eight of the cast members came up. The developer also noted on the official Kickstarter page that all of them are eligible to potentially become our partners in the game. However, only one bachelor and one bachelorette from this group of My Time at Evershine potential love interests will be able to be voted in by Kickstarter backers as romance options.

How it works is people who crowdfund the game can vote for additional characters who will be romance options in My Time at Evershine, with one of the additional six bachelors and one of the extra six bachelorettes picked as love interests. This will be done via a survey after the Kickstarter ends. The possible bachelorettes are Barika, Garnet, Hua, Ines, Luca, and Madeline. The Bachelors' profiles are all in the latest reveals from Pathea, and they are Atticus, Kang, Rudy, Shin, Stev, and Waylen.

Here is the full gallery of My Time at Evershine profiles for potential voting options so far.

As for the confirmed love interests for My Time at Evershine, the bachelors and bachelorettes who are known romance options are Avery, Freya, Panah, Ragnar, Tia, and Victor.

The My Time at Evershine Kickstarter already ended up being a success. Within one day of it being live, Pathea raised over $1 million. 11 stretch goals were met at that time. As of September 27, 2024, it passed $1.2 million. This means the A Visitor from the Past stretch goal, which brings back the My Time at Sandrock builder and Logan, will appear in-game.

My Time at Evershine is in development for the PS5, "future Nintendo platforms" Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Kickstarter campaign will end on October 24, 2024.

Stellar Blade Update Involves Summer Event, Favorite Equipment

Shift Up announced a new Stellar Blade update, with the latest patch adding Summer Event options, the ability to favorite some of EVE's equipment and outfits, and other quality of life adjustments. Some visual adjustments appeared in this update too, with the developer citing more attention to characters' physics.

The Summer Event at the Stellar Blade Great Desert Oasisarrived in the game via a July 2024 patch. This added a new activity and outfits. While the season is over, there is an option that allows you to turn the event on or off if you missed it. You can also hear the song "Don't Forget Me" from it at your Camp.

As for the quality of life adjustments, many are about making it easier to prepare EVE or go places. For example, you can favorite EVE outfits and equipment after the Stellar Blade update. You need to go into the menu to do so. It is also easier to keep track of places to go. The map lets you place pins. Two additions involve the in-game store. You'll be warned when you're about to spend a lot of money, for one. Another lets you reload ammo with an Ammo Package.

Here's a transcript of the official Stellar Blade update announcement on social media, which included the rudimentary patch notes. It also included a brief video clip showing how EVE's physics for her body and movements changed before and after this latest update. Shift Up's developer account also shared that same video.

New update details!

  • You can still enjoy the "Summer Event" at the Oasis by turning on/off the summer event content toggle.
  • The summer event BGM (Don't Forget Me) is now available at the camp.
  • You can mark pins on the map by pressing □ button on the map.
  • You can use favorites feature on EVE's equipment.
  • New item "Ammo Package" is now available for purchase, which allows you to stock up on all ammunitions to max at once.
  • Purchase confirmation pop-up will be shown when spending over 15,000 golds to prevent any unintentional spend.
  • Visual improvements of conflicts between EVE's body.
  • Various other bug fixes.

There are other Stellar Blade related updates on the way. In addition to the much-promised photo mode, we'll see a NieR Automata collaboration in the game. You can stream the soundtrack now too. In addition, Astro Bot will eventually get a free update that includes an EVE bot to rescue.

Stellar Blade is out now for PS5, and the free update with Summer Event, quality of life, and physics changes is available as of September 27, 2024.

Bounty Rush is a free-to-play game that features 4v4 multiplayer battles with characters from Eiichiro Oda's One Piece franchise. Bandai Namco originally revealed the title for Android and iOS mobile devices in 2017. It first launched the game in March 2018, but took it down for a major overhaul before re-releasing it in January 2019.

The new PC version of One Piece: Bounty Rush lets people use a gamepad or keyboard and mouse to play the game. Those who have played the game on a mobile device can also bring their save data to PC via the Multi-Login feature. The PC version supports almost all battle types with cross-platform multiplayer at launch. However, the Championship mode is still only available on the mobile version. While the League Battle is also available on PC, Bandai Namco has yet to make it cross-play compatible.

The PC version is compatible with Windows 10 or 11 with DirectX 11 and a CPU of at least AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or Intel Core i5-2300. The game can run with a minimum RAM of 4GB and a Radeon HD 7770 or Nvidia GeForce GTX460 as GPU. However, Bandai Namco recommends a RAM of 8GB and a Radeon R9 270, GeForce GTX 660 Ti, or Intel Arc A310 graphics card to ensure a smooth frame rate of 60 fps.

sayuri died

On September 27, 2024, the X (formerly known as Twitter) account for singer-songwriter Sayuri announced that she died at the age of 28 years old. Her husband Amaarashi made several posts on his account in regards to her passing as well.

The official statement on Sayuri's account, which Amaarashi wrote, revealed that she'd passed away on September 20, 2024. It did not state what the cause of death was. However, Amaarashi mentioned chronic illness in his eulogy to her. Her funeral was a private one and the announcement thanks her fans for all of their support. The announcement asks those in the media to refrain from interview requests, as it is a time of deep grief for her family and friends. On his personal Twitter account, Amaarashi also gave his final farewell to Sayuri, saying that he was happy he was her husband and thanking her for choosing him.

Sayuri made her major debut in 2015 when she released "Mikazuki," which appeared as the ending theme for Rampo Kitan: Game of Laplace. She also sang songs for Erased, Scum's Wish, Fate/Extra Last Encore, Golden Kamuy, and Lycoris Recoil. In July 2024, she'd announced that she would go on hiatus due to functional dysphonia making it difficult to sing. Not only does functional dysphonia cause scratchiness in the throat, but it also affects the voice, making it sound strained or soft.

Genshin Impact KFC Animation Stars Young Colonel Sanders

In Japan, a KFC Genshin Impact event is about to start, and HoYoVerse and the restaurant released a new anime style ad starring young Colonel Sanders and featuring a song from FLOW. It's designed to build up hype ahead of the promotion's start on October 2, 2024.

The video is set in what appears to be a futuristic and realistic world, rather than Teyvat. However, as the young version of Colonel Sanders prepares for the day, we see Genshin Impact merchandise and elements. So his phone has a background from the game and Paimon (in KFC apron) charm on it. He puts on a track that looks like the game, we see Klee's Dodoco toy, and the Natlan Lil' Buddy is there. After he dresses and makes his way to work, we see him use a glider and the Sumeru parkour methods to get around the city. When he finally reaches the restaurant, there's a Paimon decoration out front and the front sign says "KFC Genshin."

Here's the full Genshin Impact anime ad released for the upcoming promotion.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-wPaOddxRM&ab_channel=%E3%82%B1%E3%83%B3%E3%82%BF%E3%83%83%E3%82%AD%E3%83%BC%E3%83%95%E3%83%A9%E3%82%A4%E3%83%89%E3%83%81%E3%82%AD%E3%83%B3%E5%85%AC%E5%BC%8FYouTube%E3%83%81%E3%83%A3%E3%83%B3%E3%83%8D%E3%83%AB

The website for this event is live. This time around, the focus characters are Lyney and Lynette in themed costumes. People can get a glider skin and recipes to use in-game.

This isn't the first Genshin Impact KFC event. A prior one appeared in 2021. That featured Diluc and Noelle as featured characters. People were able to get a glider skin and recipes from it too. Those eventually appeared worldwide as well, though we didn't need to go to the fast food place for them when that happened.

Another tie-in happened in the US in September 2024 too. McDonald's featured a special glider skin and recipe items to collect. Beidou and Kazuha were the featured characters when that happened.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. The Xbox Series X version arrives on November 20, 2024. The Japanese KFC event begins on October 2, 2024.

Interview: Discussing Fairy Tail 2 Game Development, Characters, and DLC

Later this year, we'll get to explore alongside the Fairy Tale characters to go through the end of the anime and manga's story a new game called, appropriately enough Fairy Tail 2. To help prepared for what's to come in the sequel to the original title, Siliconera spoke with Producer Hiroshi Kataoka about the game. While we still need to wait to learn more about Fairy Tail 2 DLC, the initial insights help us get a better idea of what to expect come December 2024.

Jenni Lada: When did development on Fairy Tail 2 begin, and did was decision to develop it influenced by the anime production decision of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest?

Hiroshi Kataoka: We received many requests for a sequel along with feedback on the first game, and thanks to all the players it continued to sell well over a long period of time, so we consulted with Kodansha (the IP holder) about making a game about the final chapter of the main series, which we were not able to depict in the previous title. It turns out that the anime adaptation of the 100 Years Quest, which is the sequel to the original work, was being planned including when it would air, so we decided to bring this game to the fans when interest in the IP is rekindled and at everyone is excited for it.

Which Fairy Tail arcs are represented in and most influential for Fairy Tail 2?

Kataoka: This title focuses on the final Alvarez Empire arc, and the story has been adjusted for a video game adaptation. In order to make the Alvarez Empire arc work as a game, we

determined that it would be "Fairy Tail vs. the Alvarez Empire" and aimed to make the combat team battles as much as possible, so we have adjusted the original series' story under the supervision of the series' creator [Hiro] Mashima-sensei in order to make it work.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3heQ9u42UY

What kind of input did Hiro Mashima have on the game and Fairy Tail 2 character designs?

Kataoka: Primarily if things were a fit for the Fairy Tail world, and his thoughts on ways to further please the fans. That means that he checks everything from the design of the characters and the adjustment of the story to make it work as a game, to the original story added just for this title and each game element and various resources including game text. All of these aspects have been supervised by Mashima-sensei.

Which pieces of fan feedback from the original Fairy Tail game affected the sequel?

Kataoka: We were fortunate to receive a lot of feedback and comments. After the release of the previous title, we received many requests for a sequel along with feedback on the game. Many were happy with having a game adaptation and they enjoyed the game, but they also wanted to see the final chapter adapted into a game, in particular having more focus on the characters, so we referenced these as we made this game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wZWRDlkZho

How do you address character growth and development from the first game in FAIRY TAIL 2? Will we see all skills returning?

Kataoka: Skills have been reorganized to match the real-time and action elements and while some are returning, there are some brand new skills. Also, in battles, the central Fairy Rank system is designed to strengthen you as you attack, so it matches how battles develop and progress in the Fairy Tail series. When fans play this, they will see a very good representation of something unique to the Fairy Tail IP.

What does the roster of playable characters look like for Fairy Tail 2? We've already seen Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Ezra, and Wendy, for example. Will every character from the first Fairy Tail game return?

Kataoka: Right now, all I can say is that we'd like everyone to wait for upcoming news on which characters will be on the roster. But we have assembled it with "Fairy Tail vs. the Alvarez

Empire" as its base.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuaH90ELV8w

Additional characters like Levy and Lyon were included as DLC for the first Fairy Tail. Will they be included in the Fairy Tail 2 base game or would people like them be relegated to add-ons again?

Kataoka: Similarly, any information on DLC will be announced at a later date.

The original Fairy Tail game had cosmetic, character, and dungeon DLC. How well did those perform, in terms of sales? Which ones were most popular?

Kataoka: I will refrain answering the specific details of the popularity of the DLC, but fortunately each of the DLC released for the previous game has been well received.

Will we see a similar DLC approach in Fairy Tail 2 as in the original game?

Kataoka: To start, we have announced the details of our Digital Deluxe edition, and the content is a step above the previous game! You will not only find outfit collaborations with other Gust titles, but some additional items like Crystals and Lacrima Fragment, not to mention an alternative costume set. Also, those who buy the physical version of the game will be able to purchase the Digital Deluxe content as an upgrade pack.

As for DLC, we are considering various content that will make the game even more enjoyable, so please look forward to future updates.

The original Fairy Tail game appeared on the PS4, Switch, and PC. Have you considered bringing it to the PS5 as well?

Kataoka: At this point we do not have plans for that.

The Fairy Tail 2  release date is December 11, 2024 for the PC version on Steam, with the PS4 and Switch versions arriving on December 13, 2024.

Here Are the 5.1 Genshin Impact Special Program Primogem Codes

Each Genshin Impact Special Program includes Primogem codes, and HoYoVerse just shared the 5.1 ones. As is common and happened with the 5.0 ones, there are three codes to redeem. You have until the end of the day on September 27, 2024, or they run out, to get up to 300 Primogems and other items.

Here are the Genshin Impact Primogem codes for Special Program 5.1

The offer this time around is identical to past giveaways. You get up to 300 Primogems, depending on if you redeem each code. Each code also comes with another item you can spend on characters and equipment. So you earn 5 Hero's Wits, 10 Mystic Enhancement Ores, and 50,000 Mora as well.

Here are the September 27, 2024 Genshin Impact Primogem codes for 5.0:

  • KALF66CLGXKM: 100 Primogems, 5 Hero's Wits
  • PT5WP6D5GXJ9: 100 Primogems, 50,000 Mora
  • XSME6NV4GX2Z: 100 Primogems, 10 Mystic Enhancement Ores

Once claimed, the items show up as letters in your in-game inbox to claim.

The official site is how you enter and redeem all three codes if you play Genshin Impact on a PC. However, those on a console or mobile device need to take a different option. Go to the Account option in Settings while in-game. Enter them one by one there. If you aren't on PC and linked your account, you can use the site too.

As a reminder, this isn't the only way to add Primogem currency to your account for free at the moment. HoYoVerse announced a fourth anniversary login event. Starting on September 28, 2024, you can show up every day to claim Primogems and other items. That rollout runs until October 1, 2024, and you have until October 8, 2024 to call dibs on everything.

Genshin Impact is available on the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 5.1 update release date is October 9, 2024. The 5.1 Special Program Genshin Impact Primogem codes can be used until either they run out or the end of the day on September 27, 2024.
