Kotaku Friday, September 27, 2024 4:45 PM We are but mere days away from October, and that's when the video game industry is going to start dropping some big games. Metaphor: ReFantazio, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 are just a few of the big releases coming out next month. Luckily, things are a little… |
PCGamesN Friday, September 27, 2024 11:00 PM As a new Warframe player, Koumei and the Five Fates is the update I've been waiting for. Overhauling some of the more frustrating parts of the onboarding experience, while simultaneously adding a swathe of new Japanese-inspired content, it's exactly what I needed ahead of the highly anticipated Warframe 1999. From new frame Koumei to the Caliban rework, there's a lot to unpack. MORE FROM PCGAMESN: Warframe on Steam Deck, Warframe builds, Warframe codes |
PCGamesN Friday, September 27, 2024 11:00 PM Things in Warframe are about to get wild. The upcoming questline 1999 is set to bring players back in time to a simpler, better era. If you're nostalgic for the '90s, love grungy aesthetics, or just want to spend time riding around on a frankly too-cool Atomicycle, then Warframe 1999 is going to be the chapter you've been looking for. You won't have to wait too much longer either, as for the first time Digital Extremes is letting players get a teaser of the action before it officially releases. PCGamesN Friday, September 27, 2024 6:38 PM Even if a game is very nasty indeed, it's nice to see it do well. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a grim title filled with absolutely excruciating murders, and it just launched a new mode, at least for players who have bought the game's content pass. Even though it has a limited release right now it's done wonders for the game's Steam player numbers, with them more than doubling. PCGamesN Friday, September 27, 2024 4:58 PM When Elden Ring and Dark Souls creator FromSoftware launched the latest instalment in its long-running Armored Core mech combat series, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, it seemed to ignite a renewed interest in robot battling among general videogame players. That can only have been a good thing for Square Enix, a company that's been remaking its classic mech series Front Mission through new versions of the first two games in the series and, as we've seen today, is preparing to put out its third entry under the title Front Mission 3: Remake. PCGamesN Friday, September 27, 2024 4:56 PM One of the best things about the Elder Scrolls Online, especially for fans of the series like me, is getting to see the wider continent of Tamriel from a different perspective. There are areas that haven't been in the series before, at least not since Arena, and plenty of others we've seen more recently but are updated, changed, and shown in a new light. The West Weald is one, previously seen in Oblivion, and now explorable in the latest expansion for the MMO, Gold Road. If you've been waiting to give it a try, now might be your chance as it's on sale for the first time since launch. The official Ace Attorney X (formerly known as Twitter) account warns fans to temper their expectations ahead of the September 29, 2024 Ace Attorney video. Capcom does not plan to announce any new games (or products) for the series on that date.
On September 26, 2024, the Ace Attorney X account posted that it would showcase a "special Ace Attorney series introduction video for fans and newcomers alike to enjoy." The video would premiere on YouTube on September 29, 2024 (BST). That would be 11:00 PM PST of September 28, 2024, or 2:00 AM EST of September 29, 2024.
Though the Tweet mentioned that this would be an introduction video, likely giving a summary of the games and characters, many interpreted this Tweet to be a teaser of new content to come. Some are guessing that it's a new anime adaptation featuring Apollo. Others have guessed that it is a seventh mainline game.
In response to that, Capcom reminds fans that it has no plans to introduce a new product. However, the Tweet did specifically put the word "new" in quotations. This leaves the possibility that an old product may see light again. Of course, as the account suggests, the best thing to do is to simply wait for Capcom's video on the series.
The latest Ace Attorney game is Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, which is available on the PS4, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, Xbox One, and mobile devices. It was originally on the Nintendo DS.

Tamashii Nations has unveiled the Metal Build Zeta Gundam figure from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. The figure will cost 44,000 JPY, which would convert to around $308.45.
Pre-orders will open up from October 1, 2024. Then, it'll appear in stores from April 2025. Morifumi Naka, who has worked as an animator and animation director for multiple Mobile Suit Gundam series (including Zeta, Zeta: A New Translation, and ZZ), was one of the designers for this particular figure. The Metal Build Zeta Gundam figure is also capable of transforming into its Wave Rider mode, adding a new way to display it.
Meta Build models use a metal frame and usually incorporate a lot of details. However, customers should keep in mind that it's closer to a figure than a plastic model. You won't be able to build it like a normal Gunpla, so if that's something you're looking for, then you might want to consider using this money for an actual Gunpla.
The Zeta Gundam is not only the titular mobile suit of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, but it's also the signature machine for protagonist Kamille Bidan. In the lore, Zeta was a technological marvel since it was the first mobile suit capable of transformation. As it's been around since Zeta, you can expect that there have been multiple pieces of merchandise featuring it. The very first Gunpla for it came out in 1985, when the anime was airing on TVs.
The Metal Build Zeta Gundam figure from Tamashii Nations will be open for pre-order from October 1, 2024.

Mana Books will release an official Genshin Impact cookbook from October 3, 2024. In total, there are over 60 different recipes for people of all skill levels to try out. [Thanks, Genshin Goods!]
In total, the official Genshin Impact cookbook will cost 29.90 euros, which is approximately $33.40. As mentioned earlier, there are over 60 different recipes and they range from full meals to desserts to drinks. This book is a collaboration between Mana Books, HoYoVerse, and Gastronogeek (Thibaud Villanova). Genshin Impact is not the first IP that Thibaud has written up recipe books for. In the past, he also released cookbooks containing recipes that draw inspiration from anime, Disney, Assassin's Creed, and more. Paul Pairet and Mory Sacko, both Michelin-star chefs, wrote the foreword.
Some of the recipes that Mana Books shared are Invigorating Pizza, Rockin' Riffin' Chicken!, and pancakes. We can see at the side of the page that the recipe includes an in-game picture and description of the dish, along with the character's portrait (if it's a signature dish or can be turned into a signature dish). The caveat is that the entire recipe book is in French, but automatic translation apps like Google Lens should be able to help you if you're not sure of a word.
Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. The latest patch, 5.1, will come out on October 9, 2024.

Pokemon Unite will end service in Belgium and the Netherlands in 2025, according to a new message from Timi Studio and The Pokemon Company. From October 31, 2024, players from those two regions will no longer be able to purchase in-game items like Aeos Gems.
The final day of Pokemon Unite for those in Belgium and the Netherlands will be November 30, 2025. You will not be able to download it on mobile devices or Nintendo Switch either. The website did not say why those two countries specifically will not have Pokemon Unite anymore when the game is still available in other European nations. However, comments on Reddit speculate that it's due to the strict anti-gambling laws in both Belgium and the Netherlands.
Pokemon Unite is a free-to-play multiplayer battle arena game from TiMi Studio Group and The Pokemon Company. It originally came out in 2021, first on the Switch and then on mobile devices. There are over 60 different playable Pokemon in the game as of the time of writing, including species like Darkrai and Magikarp. As there is some level of strategy to the game, it can act as a learning tool and not just entertainment. Back in 2021, an online game college at Aeon Fantasy used Pokemon Unite to teach skills like communication, teamwork, and even English.
Pokemon Unite is readily available on mobile devices and the Nintendo Switch. Those in Belgium and the Netherlands will have until October 31, 2024 to make in-game purchases before Pokemon Unite ends service on November 30, 2025.

Bandai has announced a new Gundam TCG Project. More information on it will come out on October 3, 2024, with a reveal set to happen during the Bandai Card Games Next Plan Presentation.
There is a trailer for the Gundam TCG Project, which you can view here. It's under a minute long.
Unfortunately, the teaser doesn't provide any details. It shows the logo of the project, as well as various cards with the logo on their back floating through space.
Some of the people in the comments express surprise that Bandai will be releasing a physical TCG for the Gundam series. Others comment on past games, such as War and Super Robot Wars V Crusade, with Crusade in particular garnering a lot of nostalgia and positive attention. War debuted in Japan in 1999, and an English version came out in early 2005. Though the English version was discontinued after only three sets, the Japanese version was discontinued after 45.
Gundam War is now out of print. But it was based on the original anime series (so Universal Century) before expanding to include Turn A, Wing, Seed, 00, G, and such. Considering the popularity of series set in timelines other than Universal Century, we can expect to see the same thing with this new Gundam TCG project as well.
More information on the new Gundam TCG will come out on October 3, 2024.

Sega announced the company will be holding a career event on October 18 and 19, 2024 and it's hiring for the Sonic series. Though the promotional art for the event features Sonic X Shadow Generations, it's highly unlikely that anyone it hires from this will be working on that, since the game comes out on October 25, 2024.
The event will be online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, and it's aimed at game designers and programmers. If you want to participate, you'll need to apply from here. You'll be earning between 4 to 13 million JPY per year, and Sega is looking for both contract and full-time employees. As for the requirements, there are only three: you need to love the Sonic series, you need to have passion for making games, and you need to want to work on games that'll reach a global market.
The schedule of the online meeting is on the website as well. There will be 45 minutes of explanation about what Sega is as a company and what the position entails. Then, there will be 10 minutes for questions. Finally, there will be some casual interviews for 30 minutes. If you want to participate in the casual interview, then you'll need to submit documents. Depending on how many people want to have the interview right then and there, it may boil down to a lottery system for time reasons.
Sonic X Shadow Generations will come out on October 25, 2024 for the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
