PCGamesN Thursday, March 6, 2025 11:21 AM ![]() The long-awaited roguelike, deckbuilder, and card-based strategy game The Bazaar is finally available to play for free via its first-ever open beta. However, long-time fans of the could-be Teamfight Tactics and Slay The Spire rival have criticized its new in-game purchases and monetization methods, as they seemingly contradict descriptions of The Bazaar previously published by developer Tempo and its CEO and founder Andrey 'Reynad' Yanyuk. Replying to these criticisms, Yanyuk says that the in-game purchases do not create a pay-to-win dynamic, that some player feedback is "dramatized fearmongering," and that the response to The Bazaar's new monetization and patch is "a great exercise in showing why we [Tempo] should communicate less." PCGamesN Thursday, March 6, 2025 9:55 AM ![]() What is the best graphics card? Looking out for a new gaming GPU can mean wading through a swamp of often baffling sets of numbers in specs lists, as well as weighing up the pros and cons of the different feature sets from Nvidia, AMD, and Intel. That's where we're ready to help you out, as we're not only genuine PC hardware enthusiasts who know our stream processors from our stream decks, but we're also gamers. Your choice of GPU will have a bigger impact on your gaming experience than any other PC component and by a long, long way. Yes, it's always worth making sure you have the best gaming CPU in your system, as well as the best gaming RAM you can afford, but it's the mighty graphics card that really commands the power in your gaming rig, so you need to make sure you nail this choice. Your GPU is the primary driving force behind the frame rate in your games, and it also determines the resolution and graphics settings you'll be able to use, including ray tracing, and some GPUs are much better at handling these settings than others. There are also features that are exclusive to Nvidia GeForce and AMD Radeon GPUs, such as Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR, which also need to be considered. We've tested all the graphics cards listed in this guide in a number of different games ourselves, so we can say authoritatively which GPU you should buy for your needs, and why. The situation has quickly changed with the release of Nvidia's new RTX 5000 GPUs in January 2025 as well, with the new RTX 5090 now the undisputed king of the graphics card world, if you can afford (or find) it, and the new RTX 5080 offering decent 4K gaming performance for a much cheaper price, thanks to is support for DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Gen.. The new AMD RDNA 4 GPU lineup is also now out in the wild, with the fantastic new Radeon RX 9070 XT bringing support for AMD FSR 4, which finally brings hardware AI to the company's upscaling tech, and looks great. The Radeon RX 9070 is out now as well, with both new AMD GPUs taking aim at the RTX 5070 for mid-range supremacy. We're also expecting new budget GPUs, such as the RTX 5060 and Radeon RX 9060, to appear in the next few weeks as well. In the meantime, these graphics cards are your best options to buy for gaming right now, with prices starting at just $249.99 for a great 1080p card, and going all the way up to the mammoth Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 if you want to play games at 4K with all the eye candy enabled. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, March 6, 2025 10:58 AM ![]() Back in October 2023, former Bullfrog chappie and Fable developer Dene Carter sidled up out of nowhere and released Moonring, a terrific open world RPG in the Ultima tradition of top-down, tile-based bump-attacking. It had crisp neon sprites floating on seas of arcade cabinet black, an enticing mythology, elusive magic systems, procedural dungeons and dialogue based on remembering or deducing keywords. All this for free - statistically my second favourite price tag after the developer actually paying me to play the game. Which does not happen as often as you might think, you tinfoil hat-wearing scalliwags. Now, Moonring has some DLC. It's called Moonring DLX and consists of the Egg, a 100 floor megadungeon "with the vague promise of a silly boss and a prize". Yes, the dungeon looks like an egg. Unlike Moonring and like most eggs encountered in daily life, the Egg costs money - $4.99, €4.99 or £4.29. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, March 6, 2025 8:38 AM ![]() Monster Hunter Wilds is the fastest-selling game in Capcom's history. It continues to lord over the Steam charts, with peaks that might cause Counter-Strike 2 to glance momentarily down from its Olympus of user-created hats, and while people are still booting the dung out of the PC version's performance, verdicts upon the beast-punching as a whole are glowing. To suggest that now is the time to go back to formula is probably pure contrarianism, but Wilds makes my brain itch. Building on (and hopefully not just recapping) Brendy's excellently ambivalent Monster Hunter Wilds review, I think the series is balancing on the edges of contradictions that extend throughout its design, from the combat through the user interface to the world and narrative themes. I think it's been doing that for years, in fact, but Wilds, for me, is where Monster Hunter's confusion about itself has come to a head. |

After going over updates for about two and a half hours, the team announced it would end support for The First Descendant and shared a very brief timeline for the PS4 and Xbox One versions. It noted the first announcement came up today. The official notice will come on March 20, 2025, and that will offer more details about it winding down. Things will officially close on June 19, 2025, which comes alongside an update for all platforms.
In the explanation, Nexon's staff suggested this closure was something "expected." It suggested "big changes" were needed to revitalize and get the title to "step up its game," and abandoning that version ended up being part of it. The showcase members referred to the number of people playing on those two platforms as "a handful."
In addition, future plans for all platforms leading up to the shutdown came up. Here's the schedule for things we can expect:
Here's the full showcase. There is an English translator present for all announcements.
The First Descendant is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, though the PS4 and Xbox One version support will end after June 19, 2025.

Hidden Variable Games, developer behind Skullgirls 2nd Encore and Skullgirls Mobile, announced it will end development and updates for both games and the webtoon. It cited a dispute with Autumn Games, a publisher that worked on the series since its debut in 2012. It did not explain what led to litigation, but did note this ongoing issue started on January 21, 2025 and affects the games and Webtoon.
The first Skullgirls developer was Reverge Labs. However, layoffs meant that Lab Zero Games was formed in 2012 was to continue work on it. When that happened, we also learned Autumn owns the IP for the series. After issues with Mike Zaimont in 2020, that studio fell apart. Hidden Variable, which consisted of team members from the previous two developers, continued on to work on Skullgirls 2nd Encore and Skullgirls Mobile until this end due to the lawsuit.
In recent years, we'd seen a number of major updates on the Skullgirls series. This led to additional characters, who previously ended up abandoned due to crowdfunding endeavor votes and other development issues, showing up in the game. For example, Brain Drain and Minette finally showed up in Skullgirls Mobile. We also saw the main game get Umbrella, Black Dahlia, and Marie DLC.
Autumn Games has yet to issue a statement on the situation and future of the series. The Webtoon page still features a message that reads, "Skullgirls will return."
Skullgirls 2nd Encore is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, Vita, and PC, and you can find Skullgirls Mobile on Android and Apple iOS devices.

Good Smile Company has opened global pre-orders for its upcoming Nendoroid featuring Tir McDohl, the protagonist of the first Suikoden entry. After first teasing the project in August 2024, the company primed it for pre-orders on the same day Konami released the Suikoden I & II HD Remaster compilation game worldwide. People can place orders for the chibi figure on the company's Japanese international and North America-exclusive web stores at ¥6,800 / $54.99.
This Nendoroid will depict the son of Theo McDohl, whose first name is inputtable by the player, but he has also been known by the canonical name Tir McDohl. The set will come with a staff as the protagonist's weapon and three choices of facial expression parts. The expressions available will be mostly serious, with closed and open mouth variants, and the third one will show Tir smiling.
Good Smile Company will also offer a bonus round base with the logo for the remaster of Suikoden I: The Gate Rune War for orders made on its own web stores. The same Nendoroid is also alternatively available to order on other websites like AmiAmi, but those sites do not offer the aforementioned exclusive part.
Here are the sample images for the Suikoden I character Nendoroid:

Kotobukiya has formally opened pre-orders for its upcoming figure of Gallica from Metaphor: ReFantazio. It will release the figure in Japan in October 2025 with a price tag of 16,500 yen.
The non-scale 22.6 cm (~8.9 inches) tall figure has had a long road in development ever since Kotobukiya first announced the plan in June 2024. The company gradually published updates about the figure's development, which included an unpainted prototype showcase in September 2024. In a more recent update in early 2025, Kotobukiya showed that the Gallica figure prototype had been fully painted, which meant it would soon reveal the figure's release window and open the pre-orders.
Kotobukiya has also revealed an exclusive bonus part for orders made on its Kotobukiya Online Shop, which can only ship the figure domestically in Japan. This part will let the owner replace Gallica's face with another facial expression that shows her smiling with closed happy eyes.
![]()
The figure is also available on Atlus D Shop, which offers a different exclusive bonus in the form of a B2-sized hanging tapestry poster. However, neither Kotobukiya nor Atlus supports international shipping outside of Japan. People who reside outside the country can place their orders on HobbyLink Japan, which can ship the figure worldwide at $120.29, although it does not seem to have any exclusive bonuses.
Kotobukiya's Metaphor: ReFantazio figure of Gallica will be available in October 2025.

Apex-Toys' Genshin Impact Yae Miko - Astute Amusement figure will also be available worldwide outside China. Tokyo Figure has opened pre-orders for the figure in Japan with a price tag of 25,080 yen. The Japanese web store can also ship the figure internationally via the WorldShopping widget, which converts the price to around $167.35.
This figure set will have a scale of 1/7 and an overall height of around 28 cm (~11 inches), which is measured from the bottom base. The figure will depict Yae Miko in the default Miko's Instruction outfit with her Wish illustration pose. In the original game, the Wish banner featuring Yae Miko appeared for the first time in February 2022.
Here are some of the sample images for the figure:

Every order of the figure will come with an Omamori charm themed after the Grand Narukami Shrine. The first-batch releases will further include an exclusive 5.1 cm (2 inches) long PVC figure of Yae Miko in her Divina Vulpes vixen form.
![]()
![]()
Tokyo Figure notes that a customer can only order up to three copies of the same figure. In addition, it will first import the figures from China, so there may be some scratches or chipped edges during the shipping process. The Japanese web store thus discourages people who want to have their figures and packages in guaranteed pristine conditions from making orders.
The Genshin Impact Yae Miko - Astute Amusement figure by Apex-Toys will be available in Japan in May 2026. Tokyo Figure will close the pre-order window for the figure on April 30, 2025.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with an otome game that doesn't prioritize romance, so long as it also offers enough "justification" for the eventual ending with love interests at the end. However, a consequence of trying to do too much in these sorts of games can mean that… doesn't exactly happen. A title like Bustafellows proves you can have it all! Unfortunately, while Despera Drops is quite interesting, Aksys' new Switch otome game isn't exactly romantic.
Mika is a college student studying abroad in Italy. She seems normal, but has an unusual gift. If she touches someone with her bare hands, she can see what is in their hearts. That means she can catch a glimpse of past memories or current intent. She's always kept her hands covered as a result, something her deceased mother warned her about before she died. However, she did accidentally touch one man at a cemetery once while in Italy, and that's led to a whole mess of trouble.
![]()
![]()
This man claims to have missing memories, and he finds a way to meet Mika again in a restaurant in the hopes she'll tell him why he keeps feeling like he's missing someone and compelled to visit a certain graveyard. Before she can respond, he's murdered before her eyes. Mika's framed for the murder, handcuffed to six criminals, and they're all slapped onto a police transport. After an explosion results in them getting lose, we find that they're also somehow all tied together and perhaps some of the few in the world aware of a shadowy group known as C.R.O.W.N. with inexplicable power and influence. Naturally, this also means Mika is a target and dropped into her own potential harem of new love interests.
Most of the time, Despera Drops is your typical otome visual novel. You read through the adventures of Mika and the rest of the criminals as they try and stay one step ahead of the clandestine organization C.R.O.W.N. as that group does dastardly deeds and attempts to ruin your lives. It works fine, though there might be an occasional minor spelling error when you go through. (I expect those will be fixed in a patch soon, but for example I noticed a "gentelman" instead of a "gentleman.") However, every once in a while there will be a "timed" segment. When this comes up, Mika will look at her phone to see different surveillance cameras, and you have to issue the right directions at the exact time to carry out plans. It never felt too harrowing, but it did suit the atmosphere.
![]()
![]()
I'm also a fan of the art direction in Despera Drops, as this otome game doesn't feature the sort of style like we typically see from companies like Idea Factory and Otomate. Red Entertainment and D3 Publisher brought in Yusuke Kozaki, who designed the characters for Fire Emblem Awakening, to design the cast here and work on the CGs. I mean, I adored that game and it's my favorite Fire Emblem, so I was incredibly psyched about the choice. But it does actually fit well within the story and for each of the characters, and I appreciated that. I do wish there were a few more CGs in general, so I could appreciate it more.
Editor's Note: There will be a Despera Drops spoiler in the next paragraph regarding criticisms surrounding two of the romance options in the otome game.
![]()
![]()
The one thing I'm not a fan of is how two of the love interests are handled in Despera Drops. In the case of one, instead of actually having a friendship route or one in which our heroine gets to enter a same-sex relationship, it turns out to be one of those situations where the love interest was a man all along. It completely ruined that route for me. I sort of suspected that would happen, but also loved her personality and dynamic with Mika. On the other hand, we have 38-year-old-grown-man Gib speedrunning a relationship with a young woman who looks like she just turned 21. I understand that age-gap relationships can work, but after experiencing the route there wasn't enough there to make me believe it. So I honestly felt incredibly put off by it, even though he doesn't come across as overtly creepy until I saw how that route ended.
Though to be fair, what happens in Gib's route is honestly not uncommon for any of the love interests in Despera Drops due to this being an otome game that doesn't always prioritize romance. It's more about the cat-and-mouse games and search for the truth behind the cover-ups, dealing with C.R.O.W.N., and insight into every romance option's criminal background. Because that's the main focus, I felt like each route could or should have been an additional hour or two long to provide a better sense of pacing and actual examples of the heroine and love interact falling for each other. In some cases, like Hamiel, I could see it. But so many others are far too rushed or like they are thrown together at the end because they have to be.
I love the idea behind what's going on in Despera Drops, and the push for answers and vindication meant I really loved seeing explanations in this otome game. Unfortunately, I feel that "thriller" part and some great character designs are the only focus. It doesn't do a good job of balancing that with the romantic elements you'd expect from the genre. Add in two routes I felt weren't handled well and, while I do recommend parts of it, I don't feel it's a perfect crime.
Despera Drops is available for the Nintendo Switch worldwide.

Naughty Dog studio head Neil Druckmann has mentioned not to bet on The Last of Us Part 3 happening during an interview published on Variety Wednesday. He said "this could be it" for the series as of this point.
This might be the end of The Last of Us
As The Last of Us Season 2 on HBO is upon us next month, Druckmann sat down with Variety to speak on the franchise. The prospect of a third game came about during the interview. Druckmann said, "I guess the only thing I would say is don't bet on there being more of 'Last of Us.' This could be it."
![]()
It sounds like Druckmann already had an answer to this question in the back of his mind as he was expecting it, according to the article. Despite a potential fan outcry, Naughty Dog is currently working on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a new sci-fi RPG, which has the main character Jordan stranded on a mysterious planet called Sempiria.
Naughty Dog has a record of leaving its past franchises behind to work on the next new thing. Both Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter haven't been revisited by Naughty Dog since the PS1 and PS2 days. The last Uncharted game was 2017's The Lost Legacy, which featured Chloe and Nadine as the protagonists.
The Last of Us was going to have a multiplayer-only project, which sounded ambitious. However, it was canceled in December 2023. "To release and support The Last of Us Online we'd have to put all our studio resources behind supporting post-launch content for years to come, severely impacting development on future single-player games," said Naughty Dog in an official statement.
It would be strange to not have The Last of Us Part 3
However, it would be odd to never have another The Last of Us game release. It was reported by Game Developer that the series has sold over 37 million copies worldwide, as of December 2022. That number has likely climbed to greater heights since that official data was released.
Both entries have also received remastered PS5 versions that received critical acclaim. The PS5 version of The Last of Us Part 1 has a 91 Metacritic score. Hopefully, The Last of Us Part 3 is reconsidered after Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet releases.

As part of Might & Mastery in Pokémon GO, the three Legendary Birds are headlining tier 5 raids in the mobile game. These three from the original 150 are tough to beat and highly sought after, especially the fire bird Moltres.
Like the phoenix to which it bears a close resemblance, Moltres can feel almost invincible if you've not set up the right team of Pokémon to take it on. Here's everything you need to know about Moltres and how to take it down in Pokémon GO.
Moltres type and weaknesses in Pokémon GO
![]()
As a dual Fire- and Flying-type, Moltres is strong against a long list of Pokémon types, but it is weak to Electric (as a Flying-type), Water (as a Fire-type), and Rock (dual weakness). As such, your best bet here is to stock up on strong Rock-type Pokémon, who can do 256% damage against a Moltres.
Failing that, you can take along some Electric- or Water-type Pokémon who, while not quite as effective, still perform well and output 160% damage.
If you want to make a dent in Moltres' CP, you'll need to avoid taking Pokémon of the following types:
Best counters for Moltres in Pokémon GO
![]()
If you're headed into a tier 5 raid against Moltres, there are many excellent choices to include in your team. If you have any, it's always worth taking a Shadow Pokémon instead of a non-Shadow version due to their 20% increased attack stats. However, you also need to account for their 20% decreased defense.
Here are the top 30 Pokémon to consider before taking on the Moltres challenge, along with the best moves to arm them with:

Things are getting heated in Solo Leveling Season 2-Arise from the Shadow-, and fans who are keeping up with the series know why. But before the big match-up officially begins, the series drops a new trailer further hyping up the upcoming raid.
The trailer shows bits and pieces of what's coming next, including bouts between Korean and Japanese S-Rank Hunters. It also gives us a sneak peek at what the joint force will be facing. Certainly, the huge critters are nightmare fuel.
The fourth Jeju Island raid
The upcoming Jeju Island Raid isn't the first to be conducted. This Japanese-Korean attack is actually the fourth one, showing just how formidable the monsters occupying the island are.
Solo Leveling has also been dropping gruesome scenes about the ants throughout the first and second seasons. It showed how these monsters managed to evolve by consuming their way up the food chain. Having consumed hunters, they grew to the point S-Rank Hunters needed to be deployed.
Both Japan and Korea will be sending their mightiest warriors. Japan pledges 10 S-Ranks, while Korea also enlists most of its roster. Interestingly, Sung Jinwoo isn't part of the team — not yet, at least.

About Solo Leveling Season 2
Much like the 12-episode first season, Solo Leveling Season 2 is being produced by A-1 Pictures, with Shunsuke Nakashige reprising his role as the series' director. The season began airing in January this year, and nine episodes are currently out. It's listed to have 13 episodes in total, so the last four episodes are likely to be dedicated to the fourth Jeju Island raid.
If you aren't up to speed with the anime yet, you can stream both seasons on Crunchyroll or Netflix. However, availability varies depending on region.

Is there ever a bad time to start another killing game? If the popularity of Danganronpa and Squid Game have proven anything, it is that we cannot get enough of watching dangerous games where lives are on the line. Now, rather than wait for a new visual novel or find a new show, indie creators Double Summon Games is planning to bring the killing game to the tabletop so you can mastermind your own.
Despair Dilemma: A Death Game Mastermind TTRPG is the latest upcoming project from Double Summon Games. Taking inspiration from Danganronpa, Squid Game, and Zero Escape, the game is designed to facilitate the creation of your very own killing game. The game achieves its goal of letting you and your friends puppeteer a playful little murder party by being a part-collaborative storytelling game and part-player-versus-player improv murder mystery. You'll create a large cast of characters, build the rooms your characters will travel between, select which nefarious elements of the plot to portray, and trade off the role of Narrator–or steal it from another player. All the while trying to stop the killing and save everyone, unless you're the person who needs to keep killing. The game already has a demo version available for free, in anticipation of the crowdfunding campaign in mid-March.
![]()
Despair Dilemma is the big follow-up to Double Summon's previous, popular crowdfunded game, Perfect Draw!. Perfect Draw! is a Powered by the Apocalypse game that pushed the system to its limits. Inspired by card game anime like Yu-Gi-Oh! and Duel Masters, Perfect Draw! is a carefully crafted game that allows you and your friends to invent whole new card games and mechanics for that card game while actively dueling one another. The game is also notable for the kinds of support it received from Double Summon alongside its release. This included an expansion book and a custom tool for designing cards for your deck. Despair Dilemma has already shown signs of getting similar support, as the demo page includes a link for an official Tabletop Simulator workshop mod for playing the demo online.
Despair Dilemma: A Death Game Mastermind TTRPG is going to be crowdfunding on Backerkit. The crowdfunding campaign launches on March 13th.

Dystopian fiction is as much a staple of gaming as it is in movies. From Deus Ex to Papers, Please to Fallout, we love exploring the crumbling remnants of a crooked society with lashings of 1984. But did you know there was almost a game based directly on Orwell's classic novel?
As noted by PC Gamer, a demo of a long-since cancelled project has emerged. Some footage shows gameplay from Big Brother (by studio MediaX), an adventure game that would have seen you take on the surveillance state as Eric Blair (George Orwell's real name), all set to the backdrop of 1984.
It began development in 1996, with it being shown off at E3 way back in 1998. It was intended as a kind of sequel to the book, and had apparently been endorsed by Orwell's estate. However, for one reason or another, it was canned at the end of the last millennium. We'll never know how it would have turned out, but at least we get to experience a little piece of PC gaming history.
War is peace
As you can see, Big Brother is, very unsurprisingly, a very 90s-looking game. While you can see some connection to George Orwell's world, such as the Party slogans and references to the Ministry of Peace, it's not easy to see the link between the game and the iconic dystopian novel.
It was shaping up to be a first-person adventure title, with puzzles a-plenty. Its 3DFX visuals and colored lighting (something which contemporaries like Quake 2 and Unreal were keen to show off back in the day) certainly dates it. Sadly, the developer eventually shut down in 2005, but you can play a demo of the game by downloading it from Internet Archive.
If you do want to know what it'd be like to play a modern version of 1984, the report from PC Gamer kindly points us to one you can wishlist on Steam. This game is being developed by a studio called Inner Party (of course), and appears to be continuing what Big Brother never got round to completing. This one will have you play as protagonist Winston Smith, and has narrative design from the people who worked on Subnautica, Talos Principle, and FTL. Based on that alone, it sounds pretty good, comrades.

We're all probably getting a bit tired of hearing it, but it's worth repeating: GTA 6 will, undoubtedly, be the biggest release in recent gaming history. Rockstar is going to be sparing no expense to deliver one of the most hyped installments in its lucrative franchise.
Naturally, the studio is going to want to recoup all that money poured into the project, and it's possible the game will set you back a handsome sum. As noted by several sources (such as VGC), GTA 6 could cost as much as $100 to purchase upon release. This is according to Wedbush Securities, a financial services company based in LA.
In a research note distributed this week, Michael Pachter, managing director of equity research for the company, says the firm believes "the company has plans to sell the game at a previously unheard of price point."
It could be more!
The note from Pachter goes on to say Rockstar could incentivize players to pay that much for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto title by "rewarding them with a large amount of in-game currency to be spent in GTA Online." Whether this would be for the standard game or a special edition remains to be seen at this stage, but it could set a precedent for other huge publishers to do something similar going forward.
Of course, this is only speculation, but there's no doubt that some of you reading will not be too shocked if Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive do slap a $100 price tag on GTA 6. They know people will pay it, whether incentivized to do so or not.
Gaming is already pretty expensive these days, with many triple-AAA releases selling for $70 a pop as standard. With Grand Theft Auto being one of the most profitable franchises in the industry, the price being in triple figures might not even be that much of a surprise; it could well be expected. But again, at the time of writing, nothing's been confirmed about how much it will cost.

The first batch of ratings for MLB The Show 25 is now available to the public, as the top 5 athletes from every franchise have been revealed.
After a season of exciting baseball last year, the upcoming months promise us a lot of action. While things heat up on the field, gamers will be vying for the bragging rights on their consoles. Let's look at this year's top 20 athletes and their numbers in MLB The Show 25.
20 highest ratings in MLB The Show 25
Before deep-diving into the numbers, let's look at who has made it to the list of top 20 this year.
*Honorary mention: Corey Seager (Rangers) - 92
The race to the top has been a three-faced battle involving New York heavily. Both the Yankees and Mets have a representative each, with power hitters Aaron Jude and Juan Soto having overall ratings of 99. Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani, who has been a cover athlete on one previous occasion, is the third name on the top.

The rest of the names on the list are pretty predictable as far as the numbers are concerned. The numbers drop off slightly after the top 3, as Marte, Trout, and Witt Jr. trio are all rated at 96. It's safe to assume that all 20 names on this list will be amazing athletes to enjoy in MLB The Show 25.
The ratings mentioned here will be part of the offline mode, as Diamond Dynasty will follow a different system altogether. The overall ratings in Diamond Dynasty will be lower, and the curve will increase gradually over the entire year. Plenty of offline modes will also be available if you want to enjoy the athletes in their prime.

This card might get a lot of hate from the community, but here's why you should not sleep over it. Being an 88-rated item, it can already be included in ongoing evolutions. The Pace (95), and he also has Rapid+. Power Shot+ might not be that powerful in the current meta, but it can still be an effective weapon up your sleeve.
Once you evolve him and improve his Dribbling (88) and Shooting (88), he can become a threat in front of the goal. If you don't want to bear so many headaches, you can complete the Kolo Muani Fantasy FC SBC.

By now, you're aware of the fact that Capcom shipped Monster Hunter Wilds on PC in a frankly unacceptable state, but also that the game is running not one but two different DRMs at the same time. This, of course, leads to stuttering, but that can be fixed fast.
Sadly, not by Capcom as they are too busy pretending Monster Hunter Wilds is in a good state on PC. Instead, the job of fixing Monster Hunter Wilds has once again fallen upon the modding community. The silver lining in this whole situation is that we've got the popular modder Praydog on our side, and their RE Framework mod is essentially a must-have. I've been using it from the get-go because it fixes Wilds' shoddy handling of arbitrary aspect ratios and resolutions (gray bars begone), but installing it now also fixes the incessant stuttering caused by Capcom's own bespoke anti-tamper technology.
RE Framework mod from Praydog is a must-have for Monster Hunter Wilds
I'm usually one to advise against modding new games that are getting a deluge of post-launch updates, and one could definitely argue that the majority of Monster Hunter Wilds' mods are entirely optional in the grand scheme of things. Yet, RE Framework is an already well established utility that has proven its mettle in virtually every modern Capcom release. Nowhere is it quite as handy as it is in Wilds, however, where it now delivers a frankly massive improvement to the frame-time graph while playing.
That's because Praydog's RE Framework reels in Capcom's second anti-tamper "solution" to a sensible level. Why Capcom felt the need to shove a bonus DRM on top of widely reviled Denuvo, I've got no clue, but it's definitely one of the choices of all time.
Not that Capcom's about to learn any applicable lessons here. This very same problem was present in the launch-day build of Resident Evil Village, too, with an excessive number of tamper trigger check-ups pummeling the game into the dirt. The cracked version of the game did not have this problem, as awful as that might be, but RE Framework did clear up the problem for those of us who did buy Village on day one, too. Silver lining and all that.
In 2025, the importance of PC as a prime gaming platform has been driven home virtually across the board. Heck, even PlayStation games are now releasing on PC, even if it is with a few years' worth of delay. For Capcom to be this unwilling to get the hint is truly mindblowing, and I can't help but wonder what the company's higher-ups might think about the true reasons for its Mixed reviews on Steam.
It's good news, I suppose, that modders such as Praydog are here to fix multi-million dollar products for us regular users to enjoy. The flip side of this particular equation is that the company responsible for it just doesn't care to do so. In fact, it's going to go out of its way to actively ruin the paying customers' experience just to deal with all those pesky pirates.

A new game mode for Marvel Rivals, namely "Clone Rumble," that was originally leaked has now been confirmed by NetEase Games. Soon, every single member of the team will be able to choose the same hero.
The devs have showered us with new Marvel Rivals content ever since it launched in December 2024. Season 1 started in January 2025, and now, we have confirmed news of a brand-new game mode to make the lobbies more chaotic and fun.
Leaker RivalsLeaks initially revealed this upcoming mode, and now we have a launch date: Friday, March 7, 2025. At the time of writing, there's no news on when the event will end. Once NetEase Games reveals the end date, we will update this article accordingly.
In Clone Rumble, all players have to choose the same hero. Yeah, choosing six Iron Men, Winter Soldiers, or even six Invisible Women in a single game sounds exciting, doesn't it? There are endless possibilities to experiment with.
So, how will Clone Rumble work in Marvel Rivals?
In Clone Rumble, each team will have to vote on one hero. Once the two heroes are chosen, each player can choose from the two and finally hop into the match.
That's not all. Clone Rumble will also give you a chance to get a free reward. To get that, all you will need to do is complete Galacta's Cosmic Adventure track, which resembles a board game.
So, it seems there is a lot of fun on the way in Marvel Rivals, but you better get practicing with heroes you are not too familiar with. You could be playing them very soon!

Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe's award-winning Frieren: Beyond Journey's End manga inspired one of the best anime series of recent years. A second season was swiftly announced, but we'll have to wait until January 2026 to see how Frieren's journey continues.
The first season ran for 28 episodes between September 2023 and March 2024, gaining plenty of admirers during its broadcast. While we have a 10-month gap between now and the season 2 premiere, a new teaser visual arrived along with the news to help us relax a little.

For those who haven't watched, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is a very RPG-fan-friendly series that elegantly depicts life after the grand adventure ends and captures the feeling of a character who outlives everyone around her. Frieren is an elven mage who was a former member of the celebrated party that took down the Demon King and restored peace to the land. Flash forward 50 years and not much has changed for Frieren, but some of those companions have since passed and a new journey begins to unfold.
Yamada and Abe's manga has been serialized in the pages of Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine since April 2020. 2021 saw it win the 14th Manga Taisho award, as well as the 25th annual Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize's award for new creators. Other accolades followed, and the anime adaptation made quite a few year-end lists, including our own!
January 2026 may seem like a far-flung date at this point, but the wait should be worth it. Anime studio MADHOUSE, director Keiichiro Sato (BOCCHI THE ROCK!) and series composition writer Tomohiro Suzuki (One-Punch Man) conjured some magic the first time around. Let 'em cook and we'll see Frieren again on the other side of the calendar.
