AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT sales 10x higher than any other Radeon launches, says CEO

In unsurprising news, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT launch has apparently been a huge success so far for the chipmaker. An interview with AMD's CEO provided some additional insight into the launch of this new gaming GPU, with the RX 9070 XT described as a "fantastic success" that led to ten times more first-week sales compared to last-gen AMD Radeon GPU launches.

AMD has done extremely well to position the RX 9070 XT as the go-to choice for most gamers, which is why it's now the top recommendation for the average gamer in our best graphics card guide. It balances performance and price well, at least at the MSRP, while providing Nvidia with serious competition in the mid-tier gaming market for the first time in years.

     HP

It looks like the handheld gaming PC market could see even more competition, and it's all down to the success of the Steam Deck. HP is reportedly interested in creating a gaming handheld, but only if it can use SteamOS to do so, with a HP executive claiming that they "struggle" with the Windows alternative on these small-screen gaming devices.

A HP handheld would compete with the best handheld gaming PCs out there, including the Steam Deck, while using the same Linux operating system as Valve's handheld. Valve has only recently opened up SteamOS to third-party manufacturers, with Lenovo Legion Go S pre-orders making that handheld the first third-party SteamOS handheld to be ready for sale, but with others expected to follow.

LoL tier list patch 25.S1.6 - best League of Legends champions

What are the best League of Legends champions right now? Metas change, the LoL tier list will fluctuate, and it could be that your favorite champion might not be in a great place right now. While you can win games and climb the ranked ladder with nearly anyone in the lower ranks, the changes that come via champion and item balancing can tip the scales enough that some picks are almost mandatory, regardless of which rank you play.

We've studied the latest patch notes and found the best champions in League of Legends right now. These picks will give you the best chance to climb the solo queue ranks in the free PC game, whether it's due to a buff, a kit adjustment, or an item change. If you want to play something other than what's on this list, keep these champions in mind for your ban, as they all have the potential to go on and dominate Summoner's Rift.

Counter-Strike 2 players targeted by new scam that imitates Steam

A new phishing scam attempts to steal Steam login details and is specifically targeted at Counter-Strike 2 players. The BitB (browser-in-the-browser) attack presents users with a pop up promising free CS2 cases, seemingly with the endorsement of prominent Counter-Strike 2 team Natus Vincere (best known as Navi). The contents of the cases are revealed to the user, who is told that, in order to claim them, they must input their Steam details. Cyber security firm Silent Push, which discovered, investigated, and has now shared a report on the scam, says that these login details may then be sold on auction websites where buyers can bid on Steam accounts.

Take a step back and forget for a second it's not an RTS, and Mechabellum looks like classic Command and Conquer, reimagined with giant, missile-and-laser-equipped robots. Hundreds of units. Grit & Valor – 1949 is the tale of an alternate timeline in which the Nazis got hold of mechs and promptly overran the British Isles. As Nic semi-alluded last year, you could summarise the game itself as the product of a timeline in which the people behind Wolfenstein: The New Order decided to make Into the Breach instead. Except that it isn't quite as deviously made, based on the demo, and it isn't turn-based. Ah, I do kind of wish it was turn-based.

I was, like so many of my 1990s-born peers, a huge Sims girlie. I spent hundreds of hours as a teen and young adult making people I knew, characters from shows I was obsessing over, or original characters I wanted to experiment with, and diligently following their life paths and ambitions. I played it as a traditional life sim and I also got into all the weird, scrappy lore. I played with all the cheats and glitches and I, of course, put my sims in the pool and took the ladder out so that they were forced to drown.

Try as I might, I could not capture any of these feelings in InZOI, Krafton's early access life simulator that I would not typically immediately compare to another game if it did not beg for it by lifting every part of its design from the 25-year-old series that defined the genre. At first, navigating my shiny, photorealistic, model-perfect Zoi's around the shiny, photorealistic, model-perfect world, I feared that I am simply thirty years old and that the whimsy in my heart has withered with time. But in the end, I must insist that it's not me who is wrong. InZOI simply has awful vibes.

The Other 3.3 Honkai: Star Rail Character Is Cipher

HoYoVerse announced Cipher, who previously was known as Cifera, will be the second new Honkai: Star Rail character to debut in 3.3. She'll also be a five-star unit, which means we'll have two new focus heroines to pull for in the two upcoming phases.

The announcement included hints as to what we can expect from her. The icons at the bottom of the image confirmed she'll deal Quantum damage when she attacks. It also noted she'll be on the Nihility path. That means she'll be the type of character who inflicts debuffs or potentially damage over time effects.

HoYoVerse seems to be designing the Chrysos Heirs in Honkai: Star Rail as alternate universe versions of the 13 Flame Chasers in Honkai Impact 3rd, and the character Cifera, aka Cipher, is no exception. It seems as though she's supposed to be based on Pardofelis. Some of the clues are the cat-based accents, as the other character also has feline features. Pardofelis can be encountered in that game running the Elysian Realm shop, and she's a treasure hunter. Cipher describers herself as a "master thief." Finally, the two feature a similar brown and gold color scheme.

This means that two five-star characters are confirmed for the 3.3 update. The other is Hyacinthia, who also goes by Hyacine. Before that, we'll see Anaxa (Anaxagoras) and Castorice in 3.2.

Honkai: Star Rail is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and Cipher, who is also known as Cifera, will debut in the 3.3 update. The 3.2 showcase will appear on March 28, 2025.

The First Berserker: Kazan Review

Given the smashing success of Neople's Dungeon Fighter Online since it first launched almost 20 years ago, it's remarkable that it has only seen a handful of spin-offs released. With how appealing the characters and world are, the brand feels ripe for exploration. A few years ago, DNF Duel showed that the setting worked like a charm in a fighting game. Now The First Berserker: Khazan aims to replicate those results in the Soulslike action-RPG genre. It's a big swing for Neople, and if the quality of this game is any indicator, I think it's going to pay off handsomely.

The First Berserker: Khazan explores the dark origins of its titular character, who is a major antagonist in Dungeon Fighter Online. Set 800 years before the events of the original game, the story chronicles the adventures of Khazan after being betrayed by the Pelos Emperor. Imprisoned, tortured, and enroute to his ultimate place of exile, Khazan's fate takes yet another turn when an avalanche wipes out the caravan transporting him. He should be dead, but he wakes up with both his body and strength restored. The catch? There's a little extra voice in his head, and it's somewhat eager for blood.

The First Berserker: Khazan Cutscene
Screenshot by Siliconera

Khazan tries to fight this influence at first, but ultimately he and the Blade Phantom that has possessed him forge an uneasy alliance. Mutual goals, and all that. Those who have played Dungeon Fighter Online will more or less know how this is all going to end. If you're new to the series, prepare for a relatively standard tale of blood-soaked revenge. The plot is just engaging enough to keep you moving forward, but not much more than that. Khazan's not exactly rolling with the most complex of motivations, and the writing doesn't do much to elevate this basic plot. It feels like a missed opportunity, but Dungeon Fighter Online fans at the very least should find enough narrative meat here to chew on.

The First Berserker is, as mentioned before, a Soulslike action-RPG. It takes a lot of its cues from games like Sekiro and Nioh in particular. The game is broken up into discrete stages, each one fairly large in size and generally quite linear. There are a few side paths here and there that you can and should investigate for additional rewards, but you'll rarely struggle to figure out where you should go next. Compared to many other games in the genre, the level designs aren't terribly inspired. There are a couple of levels that try to do something interesting, but the whole enterprise is hobbled to an extent by Khazan's inability to jump. He's more the type to fall with style.

The First Berserker: Khazan Battle
Screenshot by Siliconera

Visually and thematically, the stages run the gamut. The First Berserker is aiming for a darker mood and that certainly shows in the environments. It gets more eye-catching as it goes, but considering how much the source material pops with color it's a little disappointing how bland so many of this game's locations are. It's a curious choice when lined up with the cel-shaded art style the game is using. By contrast, the characters and monsters look really good. Granted, it has the advantage of being able to lean a little on 20 years of built-up lore, but the transition to this new style has been handled well. The bosses in particular have a ton of personality in their animation routines and behaviors.

While the story is a little undercooked and the level designs fail to stand out, The First Berserker gets high marks in most other categories. Khazan will ultimately have access to three different weapon types. He starts with a dual-wielded sword and axe set that serves as a nicely balanced choice. With decent speed and good damage, it's easy to see why the game leads with this option. Before long, you'll also have access to a massive two-handed sword and a spear. Each weapon type results in a very different gameplay feel from the next, so you'll want to experiment and see which is best for you.

The First Berserker: Khazan - Greatsword

You can customize these weapon styles further, with each of them having their own rather extensive skill tree to unlock as you please. Happily, The First Berserker allows you to respec at your leisure. Throw your points around and really see what the game has to offer. It's probably best to settle on a weapon early on, though. Removing and reallocating all of those points only gets to be more of a pain as you pile them up. Beyond each of the individual weapon skill trees, there's also a shared one to spend points on. The game gets the most out of those three weapon types, to be sure.

There is also have armor to consider. You'll find various pieces scattered about, and enemies will sometimes drop them too. Eventually you'll stumble across recipes and a means of crafting, expanding your options even more. These crafting recipes are one of the main reasons to embark on the game's side missions, which send you back to previous stages to battle new enemy arrangements and have a rematch with upgraded versions of the bosses. If there's anywhere in this relatively lengthy game where I started to feel the fatigue set in, it was in these side missions. Still, you'll want to keep your gear as spiffy as possible. The First Berserker can be pretty tough, like most games of this sort.

The First Berserker: Khazan - Moonlight Combat
Screenshot by Siliconera

The meat of the game is the combat, and The First Berserker has some seriously satisfying action. Stamina is perhaps the most important aspect here. Compared to many of its peers, this game forces you to ration your stamina much more carefully. No matter how you level up or upgrade your equipment, you're going to find yourself brushing up against the limits of Khazan's stamina until you get the hang of things. Attacking, dodging, and blocking will all use up a good chunk of your meter. Carefully-timed blocks result in a Brink Guard, which uses up a lot less stamina. This is a very important aspect to master. You can also Brink Dodge, which temporarily improves your dodge attacks. Some enemy attacks can't be safely guarded, so it's vital to know when to dodge.

Somewhat ironically given the title of the game, The First Berserker is more of a defensive game when it comes to battles. The best way to deal damage to enemies is via Brutal Attacks, which are special moves you can pull off when the enemy's stamina or fortitude is exhausted. Not only does this hurt the enemy, it also restores Khazan's stamina. Brink Guards are one of the more reliable means of reducing enemy stamina, but you have a number of other ways to get those meters down. You can also use well-timed counterattacks to refill Khazan's stamina gauge and deal serious damage. You can probably figure out the dance card from here. If your stamina runs out before your foe's stamina, you're going to be in trouble.

The First Berserker: Khazan - Upgrades
Screenshot by Siliconera

This lends a serious weight to the combat, since any waste of stamina can spell your doom if you're up against any real threat. Less critical but also of concern is your spirit, which fuels your coolest moves. You can replenish it by attacking, which means you can't play completely defensively. It's important to get licks in wherever possible to keep your spirit up and deal bits of damage. You've got a lot of things pulling on your stamina, and it's up to you to balance it all. The boss battles are a tough test and until you learn to match The First Berserker's pace you are going to have a rough time.

Once you figure out how it all works, this isn't too difficult by the admittedly high standards of the genre. The bosses are naturally the most challenging parts of the game, with plenty of attacks and phases to deal with. Since Brink Guards are so essential, you have to spend some time to get to know all of the different attack patterns for each of them. If you learn when to guard, dodge, and counter, that's most of the war won. Simple enough, right? You have a lot of options at any given point based on how you've built your character, but the heart of it comes down to those principles.

The First Berserker: Khazan - Cuddly Bear and Friend
Screenshot by Siliconera

Some builds for Khazan are admittedly smoother to work with than others, and there are definitely some that can effectively cheese the game. I think there's a lot of variety to play around with in this game, and plenty of solid ways to develop your character. The different types of enemies and big boss battles give you lots of opportunities to test those set-ups, so there's that box checked. I had a lot of fun trying out different sets of skills with each weapon type, especially in those boss rematches. I eventually settled into a spear build that served me well through the rest of the game, but it wasn't an easy choice.

The First Berserker: Khazan doesn't get it all right, but the core combat and character building are a blast. For a first effort in a very competitive genre, Neople has done a fantastic job with this game. It pulls elements from the best of the Soulslike genre while mixing in just enough of its own spices to stand out. There are clear areas to improve on if the publisher chooses to follow this up, as a better story and more engaging level designs would help round things out. A true berserker only cares about the fight though, and that's one place where Khazan cleans up.

The First Berserker: Khazan will be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam on March 27, 2025.

Skateboard in Schedule 1

Covering the entire town in Schedule 1 can be a tiring process at first, but finding a skateboard is going to make your life easier.

Thankfully, purchasing your first piece of vehicle (of kind) isn't difficult at all. However, the game doesn't do a good job at explaining how it works, and what's the best way to put it to use. This guide will first explain the process of obtaining your skateboard and then using it properly to traverse the nooks and corners of the town.

How to get a skateboard in Schedule 1

Skateboard is one of the earliest tools to get in Schedule 1, and you can purchase it from the Shred Shack shop. The Shred Shack is located almost opposite the Hardware shop, so it's hard to miss. You also get a payphone and an ATM at the location, which are always helpful.

Skateboard shop in Schedule 1
Screenshot by Destructoid

Interact with the shopkeeper, and you'll be able to pick the skateboard you want. Go with the entry-level wooden one, as it's cheap and gets the job done. The speed isn't great, but it's better than sprinting all over the town. Make sure to have spare space on your inventory before choosing to purchase the skateboard. If done correctly, it will show up on the hot bar.

How to use a skateboard in Schedule 1

Press the corresponding button to select the skateboard from your hot bar. Press the left mouse button for a couple of seconds till your character starts moving on the board, and you can then drive around the town. To get a speed boost, try to run while clicking the left mouse button or activate the board right before a downward slope.

You can also press the space bar to jump over smaller hurdles like pavements, but the skateboard is best used on the road. It can make your daily travel quicker and save you time to earn more money to enhance your empire.

Drugs in Schedule 1

Money is your key to success in Schedule 1, and you'll always want to have more pieces of the green paper to develop your drug empire.

There are plenty of ways to make money in the game, but some methods are more efficient than the rest. Earning cash when you're just getting started is more difficult as the options are limited. This guide will help you make cash easily, and the scope improves as you unlock more updates.

Best ways to make money in Schedule 1

Being a sandbox experience, Schedule 1 lets you earn money as you want. These are some of the best ways to earn more cash.

  • Sell drugs, but always counter: Once you have put a product up for sale, you'll notice offers coming to your phone. Always make sure to put out a counteroffer before agreeing to a trade. That way, you get to earn more cash from every sold product, and the extra money adds up significantly as you unlock the really pricey options later in the game.
  • Pick one customer at a time: It might make sense to have multiple customers ready for your product, but there's a bonus waiting for you with quick deliveries. Having one customer to serve will help you to reach them in a shorter time and get the available bonus.

Schedule 1 seed purchase menu
Screenshot by Destructoid

  • Level up: The reason is quite simple - level up, and you unlock more products to sell. You'll no longer have to limit yourself to the lowly Kush that sells for low amounts. If you're not leveling up, you won't get access to an advanced set of seeds that are crucial for making stuff like Meth.
  • Cheats: Well, you can play the game your way, and if it involves using a glitch to get infinite money, who am I to judge? Check out this guide to find out more about having an unlimited amount of money to kickstart your drug kingpin dreams.

Well, that's pretty much all you can do in order to get a healthy amount of money in Schedule 1. Few mods allow you to use console commands and cheat your way to get unlimited cash. However, these mods only work with the demo version (as of writing), so there's no magical way of becoming rich in a short time.

A river in Minecraft

Minecraft players have finally received a detailed view of the Vibrant Visuals update, which will be making its way to the Bedrock edition.

The feature was the focus of the latest Minecraft Live update that took place earlier on March 22. Vibrant Visuals was one of the three major talking points from the Live event, and it's the sole one that focuses on the graphical side of things. While the community (myself included) is eager to try out the enhanced graphics, we will have to be patient for at least the next few weeks.

Can you try out Vibrant Visuals in Minecraft?

While the eagerness of the community is completely understandable, there's no possible way to turn on Vibrant Visuals. The enhanced graphics will be part of a future update, according to Mojang, so players will have to hold tight.

Till the update officially goes live in the latter months, there's no other way to try it out. For now, you'll have to stick with the old-looking gameplay aspect (yes, we are all bored of it). Do note that the Vibrant Visuals update is also planned to be released on the Java version of the game after it's available on the Bedrock Edition.

A forest in Minecraft
Image via Mojang

When will Vibrant Visuals become available in Minecraft?

Mojang hasn't handed us an exact date. Vibrant Visuals was showcased with contents of the second major update planned for 2025. It's not part of Spring to Life content, which is a major reason why you can't enjoy the enhanced graphics right now in the game.

I am expecting it to be released around June/July. It will be the peak of summer and a nice time for Mojang to drop the next major update, with Vibrant Visuals being a core part of it. I am expecting to get more information closer to the release date for the feature, which will have greater details about the update.

Schedule 1 image of plants

Schedule 1 is taking the Steam store for a storm with an incredible number of concurrent players, and it has raised the question about whether the drug simulator will make its way over to consoles.

As of writing, the game is out on early access for PC, where players can test out a free sample of the game before deciding to purchase a full version. Unfortunately, the game is currently exclusive to the PC platform, and console users have no possible way of enjoying it on either their Xbox or PlayStation.

Why is Schedule 1 not on Xbox or PS5?

While the developer hasn't given a full explanation behind the reason, it largely has to do with the nature of the game. Schedule 1 is currently available on early access, and it should take around 2 years for the developers to finish the project.

Drugs in Schedule 1
Screenshot by TVGS

Typically, early access titles are only available on PC, and this applies to AAA titles with bigger budgets. Successful games like Baldur's Gate 3 only came to consoles after their full launch, and the release dates were slightly behind that of PC.

It has become a norm in the gaming industry that a lot of titles are released late on consoles after they finish early access on PC. Unless Schedule 1 is ready for full launch, it's availability on consoles is unlikely.

Will Schedule 1 release on consoles?

This is a tough question to answer, as there hasn't been any public declaration by the developers. Even if there are plans for a console release in the future, it's not going to happen anytime soon, at least. If you only play games on your consoles, it's best to wait for at least the next few months.

Thankfully, the system requirements for Schedule 1 are quite low, and it can easily run on most PCs. If you're desperate to create your drug empire, a good job will be to purchase your copy on Steam and play on the PC. Despite being in early access, there's plenty of content already available in Schedule 1, with more planned for release as part of monthly updates.
