Only in death does duty end. Such is the code of the sturdy, honor-bound Space Marine, devoted to protecting the Empire at all costs. One of the greatest Warhammer 40k games of recent years, if you've already bested all of Space Marine 2's toughest challenges, a giant update, on its way at the end of June, will test your resolve to its limit. Siege is a completely new, three-player PvE mode that pits you against endless waves of Tyranids and Heretics. You can't survive forever - but you can go down fighting, and take hundreds, or maybe thousands, of them with you.

I have a love-hate relationship with life games. I've put countless hours into Dreamlight Valley, tried Coral Island, and am loving the new Doloc Town. Like many others, I played plenty of The Sims in my youth and became obsessed with Animal Crossing: New Horizons during the pandemic. Though I adore the relaxing nature of the simulation genre, each demands so much time that it's hard to get into new releases. One that might be worth trying out, though, is the upcoming Starsand Island, which combines the best elements of them all. After a few hours with an early build, I think this cute life sim has what it takes to be the next big hit.

Warhammer 40k: Boltgun is the perfect example of a modern boomer shooter. It looks and sounds exactly how you remember the FPS games of the '90s, but it plays entirely differently. Everything is as smooth as butter, and there's a fluidity to the gorey action that makes Boltgun a total joy to get your hands on. Now, as a part of the Warhammer Skulls showcase, we've got huge news. Not only are we getting Warhammer 40k: Boltgun 2 next year, but a free-to-play spinoff is also available right now.

It's been a full year since Kasedo's first ever trailer for Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus 2. Bathed in the perfect amount of eerie, neon green, the XCOM-like classic is back, this time centered around longtime big bad, the Necrons. Allowing players to experience both sides of the story, you'll be able to play as the skeletal Xenos and the titular Adeptus Mechanicus, an unsettling machine race dedicated to the Omnissiah. But, as the latest gameplay trailer reveals, during the course of our journey we'll run into both some familiar faces and a Warhammer 40k faction that has never appeared in a videogame before. That's right, the Leagues of Votann are joining the fray, and I quiz product manager Tony Cross about how it happened.

As someone that's relatively new to the franchise, Owlcat Games' Rogue Trader is perhaps my favorite Warhammer 40k game. While the chaotic gore of Space Marine 2 certainly has its charm, and the strategic action of Dawn of War will never not be iconic, as a big Baldur's Gate 3 fan and turn-based enthusiast, Rogue Trader was simply perfect for me. Hot off the heels of its last game, however, Owlcat has revealed Warhammer 40k: Dark Heresy, a party-based CRPG that feels like it borrows a lot from Larian's epic and the developer's previous fantasy adventure, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. While the details are relatively thin right now, I'm beyond excited.

An endless battle encompassing hundreds of thousands of soldiers. Dozens of factions, all outfitted with their own weaponry, armor, and physical abilities. Warhammer 40k is built for the RTS genre - it's where the Space Marines and Chaos feel most at home. Almost 20 years on, Dawn of War remains one of the best-loved games in the entire 40k canon. Developed by Relic, the studio behind Company of Heroes and the gorgeous anniversary edition of Age of Empires 4, it's like a bulky, grimy reimagining of Command and Conquer, combining classic real-time mechanics with the defining Warhammer art style. And now, it's coming back. A new Dawn of War remaster is officially in the works.

Logitech just revealed the G522 Lightspeed, a new wireless gaming headset that comes with great audio drivers, a super clear microphone, and, most importantly, a lightweight build for comfort during long gaming sessions. I've been using the G522 as my daily headset for two weeks now, and I'm surprised at just how quickly it's become my preferred headset for gaming, music, and work.

Logitech is no stranger when it comes to releasing some of the best gaming headsets, but we typically expect the company's top-end headsets to be released as part of the G Pro or Astro lines. With the G522, a headset with broad appeal, it's harder to make a splash and stand out when so many brands are fighting for your attention. I'll publish a full review of the headset soon, but so far it's looking like a decent headset for a number of reasons.

What are the best horror games? Scary games tend to turn traditional action concepts on their heads, forcing you to run and hide from your enemies. They leave you feeling vulnerable rather than empowered, and more than most, they are the gaming experiences that haunt you long after you play.

So while we have included a few obvious picks, like Outlast and Amnesia, zombie games and shooters, you can also expect to find games that use different tactics to raise your heartbeat and get your palms sweating. Whether that's a dread-inducing atmosphere and careful pacing or unpredictable multiplayer game antics, this list of the best PC games in the horror genre are sure to get your heart racing.

I look at the response to Oblivion Remastered, and it seems fair to argue that there is still plenty of goodwill towards Bethesda. Yes, the wait for The Elder Scrolls 6 has been going on for years. Yes, Starfield fell short of players' collective expectations. But Bethesda is still the studio that made Fallout 3, Skyrim, and Morrowind. And its reputation, even if it is a little dented, remains largely solid. Oblivion Remastered helped Bethesda earn back some admiration. So, perhaps the new Starfield update can help restore the credibility of its most divisive game. Alongside a number of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, there's a new Starfield DLC. But although it's endorsed by Bethesda, it's actually created by the team behind some of Fallout 4's most beloved mods.

Detail is also provided about the overall CPU and GPU specs, as well as specific examples of options that fit those requirements. With so much additional content, it's incredible that Behaviour Interactive is able to come up with new perks and powers for the latest DBD killers and survivors. My favorite battle royale ever made was Sharkmob's Bloodhunt. Reimagining the Vampire: The Masquerade universe in a new, unique way, its rain-soaked Prague and slick cosmetics meant it shot straight to the top of my 'favorite PC games' list, only to be killed off a couple of years later. I know how it feels to watch one of my favorite titles bite the dust, ruined by cheaters and bad actors, so I can empathize with the dedicated Super People players who were there when it breathed its last back in 2023. Ahead of my trip to 11 Bit Studios HQ in Warsaw, I did not expect to fall in love with its upcoming slate of games quite so quickly. While acutely aware of its hard-hitting works like Frostpunk, This War of Mine, and The Invinicible, I had little to no experience with its tried and tested formula of engaging gameplay loops interspersed with dark and desperate thematic hooks. The Alters has convinced me to pay the Polish developer-publisher much more mind.

The in-house efforts of 11 Bit Studios have produced a gorgeous and immediately engaging interstellar exploration game that's as much a management sim as a narrative space opera. May 22, 2025: We added CEO Strauss Zelnick's latest comments about the GTA 6 release date delay.

When is GTA 6 coming out? Given how many years it takes to create open worlds of the same caliber as GTA 5, it's no surprise that Rockstar Games has already spent years developing GTA 6. Rockstar prefers to keep its secrets close to its chest until close to the end of development, but Take-Two has now confirmed when exactly we can expect it to arrive.

The Grand Theft Auto 6 release date has certainly been a long time coming. Early gameplay leaks of GTA 6 surfaced online last year, along with lines of source code and development footage for the open-world game. Each army in Warhammer 40,000 has its own codex containing rules, lore, and nice pictures, and The Leagues Of Votann's - the game's contemporary space dwarves - was out of date before a single model was available to buy. Advance copies went out, people noticed that the rules were horribly broken, more people noticed that the rules were actually massively, horribly, absurdly broken, and the company issued an apology, pulling out their cutesy 'James Workshop' moniker in an attempt to aw shucks the fact they'd just sold everyone some very expensive hardback kindling. They later issued some rules errata, and they're supposedly in a more sensible spot now, even if doing anything interesting with them visually is confined, as per, to Necromunda.

If I had to bet money on it, I'd guess they won't be nearly as broken in Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 when they appear as potential allies or foes for both the Ad-mech and Necron playable factions. That's because difficulty balance was one of the major problems holding the original Mechanicus back from strategy greatness (the game was later patched), so I imagine it being at the forefront of Bulwark Studio's mind this time. Decide for yourself by observing the trailer below. How many busted tokens do these dwarves have in their beards?

A new video from Youtuber Destin Legarie includes a number of allegations about Destiny 2 and Marathon developers Bungie from anonymous former employees. Amongst other things, we hear that Bungie staff once proposed a Destiny subscription model, but were "vehemently shut down" by leaders. There are also lots of claims about toxic, unaccountable management, and some throwaway insights about how the company's culture has changed in the course of being acquired by Sony.

I can't be the only person here who's ever had a fistfight with their washing-up. I have this big metal spatula that has a malicious habit of bouncing out of the drying rack. Again and again, it sneaks under my elbow to spring and sproing over the lino, gathering as much stray onion peel as it can on the way to the door. The fourth time this happened I bent it in two. Then I thought my sieve was giving me stinkeye, so I threw it down and stamped on it, gangland-style. Look, it was kind of a bad day. But one thing I will swear to you, probably-concerned reader: I would never behave this way towards my leftovers.

Stellar Blade NIKKE DLC Trailer Shows Costumes and Gameplay doro dorothy

Shift Up showed exactly how some of the Stellar Blade Goddess of Victory: NIKKE costumes and the minigame based on the mobile game will look in a trailer for the crossover DLC. This also featured a peek at the Scarlet boss fight as well. There's also a Doro Dorothy cameo at the very end.

This video began with a look at the Stellar Blade minigame gameplay, as that involves shooting down foes in the same way someone would when playing NIKKE. As it starts, Shift Up quickly cycles through a few of the character costumes for Eve in the add-on. First, she's dressed as Rapi. Then, she looks like Modernia. A quick peek at Anis' attire comes after. Her Alice outfit appeared after that. She's briefly dressed like Dorothy after that, before returning to her normal appearance.

From there, we see the cover-based shooting familiar from NIKKE. What honestly look like Rapture robots, in addition to Stellar Blade foes, descend on her location. We hide behind cover and emerge to shoot at them, and the UI suggests the Burst system from NIKKE may be present.

After that we see some familiar faces. Volt the dog shows up and interacts with Eve. We then get a better look at her in the different NIKKE costumes in Stellar Blade. Eve meets Scarlet after that, and that leads into a peek at the boss fight between the two characters. Things close out with Eve encountering Doro Dorothy at about the 1:27 point.

Here's the full trailer:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90g5l0jyqr0&ab_channel=SHIFTUP%E2%99%A1OfficialChannel

Stellar Blade is available for the PS5 and comes to the PC via Steam on June 11, 2025, and the Goddess of Victory: NIKKE DLC debuts the same day and is a part of the complete edition of the game. NIKKE is available on PCs and mobile devices now.

One Punch Man tankobon manga volume 33 - Web manga has a hiatus delay until July 2025

People who have been following the One Punch Man manga have to wait until July 2025 to see a new chapter, as it goes on a hiatus. Yusuke Murata, one of the mangaka artists behind the title, announced that the next One Punch Man update on the Tonari no Young Jump website is delayed until July 17, 2025, due to several unspecified circumstances.

This was not the first time One Punch Man had a hiatus, though. In March 2024, ONE and Yusuke Murata announced a long-term hiatus as they wanted to rework the manga from Chapter 240. The reworked chapters finally appeared starting from January 23, 2025.

The One Punch Man manga has been available to read for free in Japanese on Tonari no Young Jump. Prior to this hiatus announcement, ONE and Yusuke Murata regularly published new chapters on a biweekly basis. The latest chapter to date, Chapter 248, appeared on May 8, 2025.

Yusuke Murata's new announcement tweet in Japanese is also available to view right below:

https://twitter.com/NEBU_KURO/status/1925160384300003439

One Punch Man is also available in the tankobon (standalone book) format. The latest Japanese volume available as of May 2025 is Volume 33—covering Chapters 168-171—which Shueisha published on April 4, 2025. VIZ has also been gradually providing official English releases of the manga, with the English Volume 31 slated for release on July 15, 2025.

The next chapter in the One Punch Man manga, Chapter 249, will be available in Japanese on Tonari no Young Jump on Thursday, July 17, 2025. The anime adaptation of the title will have its third season launch in October 2025 to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the first season.

Cotton Candy Cinnamoroll, Cupcake Kuromi, Chocolate Chip Pochacco, and Donut Pompompurin plush join Build-a-Bear Sanrio stuffed animals.

Build-a-Bear announced a new series of Sanrio plush, with stuffed animals of Cotton Candy Cinnamoroll, Cupcake Kuromi, Chocolate Chip Pochacco, and Donut Pompompurin with "sweets" themes based on desserts now available. As a note, one of them is an online-exclusive. You can only get the dressed and undressed versions of Pompompurin through the website. The other three are in-stores and online.

Each of these Sanrio characters features a somewhat standard look for the plush, but there are different accents to each stuffed animal's fur to make it resemble a candy or pastry in some way. Pochacco is mainly white, as usual, but his ears are sepia toned with dark brown spots instead of plain black. Kuromi is far more pastel than usual, with sprinkles on her cap. Cinnamoroll has a pale pastel pattern all over, instead of being white. Like Pochacco, Pompompurin looks similar to his usual appearance, but his ears have sprinkles and his hat is pink with white icing and sprinkles on top.

Here are the official pages and prices for each of these new plush. The undressed, standard stuffed animals with no accessories are all $38 each, but the dressed versions' gift set prices vary slightly. In the case of Cinnamoroll, it's slightly more expensive due to also including a wristie plush for the character to hold.

  • Chocolate Chip Pochacco - $38
  • Chocolate Chip Pochacco - $51.50
  • Cotton Candy Cinnamoroll - $38
  • Cotton Candy Cinnamoroll Gift Set - $58
  • Cupcake Kuromi - $38
  • Cupcake Kuromi - $51.50
  • Donut Pompompurin -  $38
  • Donut Pompompurin Gift Set - $51.50

This is how all of the Sanrio Build-a-Bear sweets line of Cotton Candy Cinnamoroll, Cupcake Kuromi, Chocolate Chip Pochacco, and Donut Pompompurin plush look, with photos of the standard and gift set versions of the stuffed animals all available:

It isn't uncommon for Build-a-Bear to release collections with different variants of these mascots. It happened for Valentine's Day 2025, and Kuromi was part of that line too. There was also a Christmas collection in 2024 that also included both Cinnamoroll and Kuromi.

Cotton Candy Cinnamoroll, Cupcake Kuromi, Chocolate Chip Pochacco, and Donut Pompompurin plush are all available via Build-a-Bear, with all of the Sanrio stuffed animals except for Pompompurin being available both in-stores and online.

Kotoka Torahime Is the Next Nijisanji English Vtuber Graduation

Another Vtuber is leaving Anycolor, as Kotoka Torahime announced she will leave Nijisanji English with a graduation announcement on May 22, 2025. Her final day will be May 28, 2025. Unlike other recent graduate Ike Eveland, she will hold a final stream at 4am PT/7am ET/8pm JST on May 28, 2025. This comes three days after she revealed a new outfit.

An official graduation timeline appeared on the Nijisanji English social media account. Kotoka debuted with the company on December 10, 2022. Her last day is May 28, 2025, making this a three year run for the performer. Following her final stream on May 28, 2025, her social media and YouTube will remain as-is. After she graduates, her X account will be made private. All streams will be removed, and only full song covers like the one she did for "Show" back in September 2023, will remain on the account. You can also send fan mail until June 28, 2025.

Here's that full announcement:

Kotoka hasn't shared any schedule just yet for her last week. We only know about the graduation stream on May 28, 2025. However, she did release a social media message that mentioned creating some "more memories." Here's a screenshot, since the account will eventually be made private.

We've witnessed the graduation of multiple members of this performer's generation prior to her decision. XSOLIEL also consisted of Doppio Dropscythe, Hex Haywire, Meloco Kyoran, Ver Vermillion, and Zaion LanZa. Zaion ended up being terminated by Anycolor shortly after the group's debut, and Hex graduated in August 2024. She's also one of many recent graduations. Fulgur Ovid and Ike Eveland left the English branch in the last few weeks.

The Kotoka Torahime Nijisanji English Vtuber graduation is set for 4am PT/7am ET/8pm JST on May 28, 2025.

Preview: Reka Already Feels Like an Immersive Witch Game

I don't know who I am. I don't know what happened to my family. I'm alone, on a road to a small town, and while nobody cares enough to offer me food or a place to stay, they show enough concern to warn me away from the witch living in the woods. Yet the moment they do, I know that is exactly where I am meant to be. This is Emberstorm Entertainment's Reka, a game about training under a witch, decorating a chicken-legged, moving house, and using my herbal and potentially magical skills to improve my life throughout this simulation.

I take my time on my journey to the witch's house. She's not going anywhere. I'm not running away. But I do want to know what is around us, and what I can expect. I help a merchant with a fae entity of sorts trapped in a lantern repair a wagon. I find a baby goat before it falls to it's death in a well. People in this dwindling village spread many rumors about the woman I'll soon meet. She's a demonic presence. She's an eccentric old lady. She once had a companion, but who knows where they went. She eats children. She's an affront to The High Lord.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FY2gsgGRKAQ&ab_channel=emberstormentertainment

Everyone has an opinion and, after hearing a sufficient amount, I know enough to suss out her exact location and use my compass to head to my new home. All this serves as a means of showing how much worldbuilding can be done in such a short amount of time. You need to try and connect to learn more. Only by hearing rumors can you get on the right path. But by taking that time, you also learn what their lives are like. What the village is like. What they need. How you can help to gain useful or decorative rewards.

Upon first meeting Baba Jaga, she seems... ordinary. A plain, elderly woman. Someone a bit gruff. She's been waiting for me, just as I have for her, and she tasks me with gathering mushrooms and honey for our meal, then raspberries to barter with some Lutki in the woods who stole her talisman. Said charm will be mine if I retrieve it, allowing me immediate access to teleport back to her home at a whim. "So she is magic," I think as I head out for more practical gathering. Her crows follow and surround me. Whether they are there to report my deeds back to her or protect me, I can't tell. Mushrooms, honey, and raspberries are easy enough to spot. So are the mischievous woodland creatures that look like hopping wooden logs with faces. They're eager to trade me niceties like apples for my berries and give a gift if freed from errant logs, though I did need to chase down the thief who stole from my new master.

I feel like that's what I appreciate most about Reka, even in these early days. There's a strong sense of magical realism. Yes, there really are beings like the Lutki and Leshy in the woods. Some remedies for people around you are as simple as putting in some effort to harvest, gather, or prepare food. However, there's real magic here too. The fast traveling is a prime example, as is the chicken-footed, moving home itself. After a death in the family in the village, the home really does need to be cleansed, but that involves placing black salt instead of weaving some spell. But it's amazing how often practicality and common sense wins. For example, when getting permission from Leshy for a trial that allows a larger home, none of the tasks involve magic or crafting. They involve actions that make the forest and its inhabitants happier.

I also appreciate how this carries over to added content as well. For example, in May 2025 a Roots and Remedies update launched for Reka. This brings farming to the game. However, I feel like that garden is multifaceted. It looks nice, besides my quaint cottage. It adds something new to my routine. But it also enhances this witch game by making elixirs possible. Yes, we could poison people before, but now there are more opportunities, and it seems like a means of using both practical tonics to assist people and more magical potions such as one that lets us understand animals.

Reka feels full of potential and like a witch game that explores how "magic" could be an actual spell or a more practical solution someone didn't consider. Even though the 1.0 release isn't set to arrive until later in 2025, it feels like there's so much to enjoy already. I love diving into the world created here and taking in the ambiance.

Reka is in early access on PC via Steam

Ultron holding out his hand with an army behind him in marvel rivals

Prepare to assimilate. The rogue AI known as Ultron is primed to join the Marvel Rivals roster next week, and he's tougher than ever.

As part of the ongoing Marvel Rivals story, the evil Ultron has stolen Cerebro and evolved into the mega X-Tron as part of the game. According to NetEase, Ultron introduces "an all-new shooting experience" as a Strategist who can provide "consistent healing" to his team.

https://twitter.com/MarvelRivals/status/1925567331092058353

Oh, and he can fly, too. Yeah, this robot guy is looking like a good bit of fun, especially on a new map called Arakko, Krakoa's sister island that has been transformed by Ultron into an ugly, mechanical world.

In an new Dev Vision update highlighting Ultron, NetEase has announced a slew of new updates coming to Marvel Rivals in the new update next week, including an emoji system, hero proficiency avatars on the hero select wheel, and other minor quality of life updates. But there's some big stuff, too.

Season 2.5 will bring about a big balancing pass, tweaking several "overbearing" heroes to shake up the meta that settled in for "exhausting" matches in season two. NetEase says it will be nerfing Groot, Emma Frost, and Captain America, while buffing Magneto and Doctor Strange for Vanguards. For Duelists, Iron Fist, Human Torch, and Psylocke will get nerfs while Punisher, Squirrel Girl, and Storm will get buffed. Luna Snow will get rebalanced to nerf her Ultimate but make her more viable elsewhere, and Jeff is getting a "partial adjustment," too.

Marvel Rivals will also be updating team-ups yet again, adding six new abilities while removing four, as the meta continues to evolve, including nerfs for powerful team-ups like Hulk and Namor. One of the new team-up abilities, Jeffnado, combines the Land Shark with Storm to create a shark tornado for some hilarity.

A new limited-time mode, Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol, will kick off on June 6 and introduce unique hero builds and traits in what looks like quite a departure from the base Marvel Rivals experience, on top of the normal fare you'd expect from an update like this.

And in case you needed a refresher, here's what Ultron's abilities look like, according to leaks:

Ability Description Button input
Encephalo-Ray Unleash a burning energy beam. LMB
Imperative: Firewall Summon drones to grant bonus health to allies within range, centered on himself and the ally marked by Imperative: Patch. RMB
Imperative: Patch Command a giant drone to follow an ally, constantly healing allies in its radius, with additional healing for the designated ally. E
Dynamic Flight Fly quickly in the direction of movement and then enter a free-flight mode. Shift
Rage of Ultron
(Ultimate)
Summon Ultron Drones to fire Encephalo-Rays, damaging enemies or healing allies. Q
Algorithm Correction
(Passive)
Hold space to fall slowly. Space

We'll know more ahead of the midseason update in Marvel Rivals next week, which is looking to be a sizable update to the existing experience when it drops on May 30.

Sabrina Carpenter standing with a Mandalorian for story quests in Fortnite

There are several Mandalorians wandering around the island in Fortnite's Star Wars season. All of them have a series of story quests for you to complete to earn their trust and plenty of XP along the way.

Like all story quests featured in this season, unlocking and working through these ones can be a bit tricky. Here's how to complete the Mandalorian's story quests in Fortnite.

All Mandalorian story quests in Fortnite Star Wars Galactic Battle

There are three main tasks you need to complete throughout the Mandalorian story quests in Fortnite:

  • Meet a Mandalorian to start the New Associate quest
  • Scout marked outposts for intel
  • Bring the intel to a Mandalorian

Meet Mandalorian to start New Associate quest in Fortnite

The first step is to unlock the Mandalorian's story quests by finding one of them around the island to chat with. There are four Mandalorian NPCs you can meet up with, and all of them offer the exact same quest series, so you can choose whichever one you like.

All Mandalorian locations you can visit to start this quest are as follows.

  • A Scout Mandalorian can be found northeast of Canyon Crossing near the lake.
  • A Medic Mandalorian can be found west of Outlaw Oasis, by a small shack near the very edge of the island.
  • A Heavy Mandalorian can be found near the very eastern end of the island, on a cliff overlooking the water south of the First Order Base.
  • A Supply Mandalorian can be found near the northeast end of Magic Mosses, standing near a cliff by the river.

Scout marked outposts for intel in Fortnite

Once you talk to one of the four Mandalorians and get their story quests started, they task you with scouting marked outposts around the island. You need to find and visit three of these locations to recover three pieces of intel for this task.

At all of the locations you can visit, the intel appears on a datapad you need to interact with. If you've already completed Leia Organa's story quests, you know exactly what to look for since the datapads in this quest look the same as the one you found during her quests.

All marked outpost locations in Fortnite

There are five marked outpost locations you can visit to finish the Mandalorian's story quests. You only need to visit three of these spots, but you can choose any three you like. Here are all five options.

  • The first piece of intel is at a marked outpost slightly northwest of Outlaw Oasis.
  • The second and third pieces of intel are at a marked outpost north of Canyon Crossing.
  • The fourth and fifth pieces of intel are at a marked outpost west of Masked Meadows.

Bring the intel to a Mandalorian in Fortnite

Once you've recovered all three pieces of intel from marked outpost locations, head to any of the four Mandalorians around the island. Chat with them to share what you've learned and officially complete the Mandalorian's story quests.

There are plenty of other quests you can work on next if you're looking to earn more XP. You might want to travel distance using the jetpack, finish Jar Jar Binks' story quests, use a telephone booth to don a disguise, and complete Han Solo's story quests.

A Build an Island player is holding a potion and standing next to the merchant

Getting Gold in Roblox Build an Island is probably the most inconsistent thing in the game. With so many methods to make Gold, you're likely wondering which one you should focus on. Well, that's why we made this guide. We're going to tell you the ultimate, almost broken, way to make so much Gold, you likely won't know what to do with it. Spoiler, it's not Bees. Enjoy our Build an Island Gold Farming Guide.

Best Gold Farming Method in Roblox Build an Island

The best way to make money is through gardening. That's the secret. The sooner you start this, the better. As soon as you start the game, use all the money you have to save up for crops, plant them, and keep doing this until you run out of planting spots. That's all there is to it. Oh, and NEVER miss an opportunity to buy rare seeds, like the Magic Durian Seeds.

A Build an Island player is selling strawberries to a merchant

You want to focus on crops that you can harvest multiple times, not just once. For example, Corn gives you only one harvest, so it's not very valuable. But a single Tomato seed will continue to give you harvests for all eternity.

How to get started with gardening in Roblox Build an Island

When you first start playing Build an Island, you'll have no Gold. Here are a few ways to get some so you can get started with gardening:

  • Collect gold resources (golden trees, golden rocks, golden bamboo, etc.)
  • Start keeping Bees
  • Use Coal to collect Gold from Mines

None of these methods is great at money making, but they should give you just enough so you can get started on your garden. From then on, it's just a matter of growing your garden.

How to make even more even more Money in Roblox Build an Island

Screenshot by Destructoid

The only real issue with the gardening method is waiting for the crops to grow. Fortunately, you can speed this up. There are two main methods, and both are pretty easy.

  • Use Growth Potions - You can buy them or even make them yourself (You need 100 Bamboo Planks and 9 Tomatoes). These double the speed at which your crops grow.
  • Upgrade your Crop Growth - This gets more expensive the more you upgrade, but the results are very noticeable

With these two methods, you'll make even more money in Build an Island. The only problem will be figuring out what to spend it on.

That's all there is to it. Have fun making money in Roblox Build an Island. If you're in the mood for a different type of game, check out Roblox Dig It.

There's another way to obtain these life tools, and you can spend your Dosh to get them from the General Goods store. However, you shouldn't do that, since starting a life is required to use the tools. In simpler words, you can't use an axe if you haven't started the Woodcutter life. Additionally, you won't have to pay any Dosh for these tools if you're just starting a new life.

On one hand, you learn to know how to use them, and you also get the tools for free on the other. It's a win-win situation, and you can always upgrade these items with the help of required recipes and resources.

We are finally getting our first themed expansion packs since the launch of Celestial Guardians, with Ultra Beasts diving into Pokémon TCG Pocket at the end of May.

It's only a single pack this time and not split, so trying to find every Pokémon should be easier than the major expansions, where you get split packs. As mentioned, this set is heavily focused on Ultra Beasts as well, with a bunch of new Pokémon that could potentially add some much-needed flair to the meta game.

Complete Pokémon TCG Pocket Extradimensional Crisis (A3a) card list

https://twitter.com/PokemonTCGP/status/1925538789855809923

Extradimensional Crisis is the first expansion booster to the third major expansion and continues to add new Alolan Pokémon to the mix. Being a smaller set, trainers shouldn't find it difficult to collect most of the basic cards on offer pretty quickly and hopefully find what they were looking for.

The set adds the Ultra Beast card-type into the mobile game for the first time, which'll likely mean a bunch of trainer cards that'll support these cards and lead to Ultra Beast-themed decks either for fun or competitive play. Buzzwole ex is one of the cards many trainers have their eyes on, but there are more to come.

There are only a handful of cards that have been shown off so far, but we plan to update this list with the full set on May 29 when the set launches. So be sure to come back to see the full list and what you can grab around that time.

Card Number Card Name Rarity

This article will be updated on May 29 with the full card list information, so stay tuned!

Key art of a stylized battle where the player character attacks a monster.

It's been a full month now since Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 graced the gaming world to massive fanfare and calls for it to (deservedly) win game of the year, but after all this time and chances to play multiple playthroughs, how have you been finding it so far?

A quick heads up before we dive into this. I'm not going to discuss any spoilers to the story, but be warned, some folks might talk about spoilers in the comments below, so be wary when reading what others have to think and say!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWGIakhqr5g&ab_channel=IGN

For me, the gameplay and parry system are solid, and it really scratches that RPG itch I've been having for games for years now. And the story and visuals are top notch, you can really tell the team went into this wanting to create a labor of love. It's also the first game in a while where I have genuinely laughed with some of the dialogue choices. (Looking at you, Monoco. There will be a lot of fighting, after all. So count me in then.)

Obviously, not every aspect of the game has been received well, whether it's features regarding travel and the map, or players losing track of what they did and where they need to go after going so far. Some criticism of the game might be rightfully heard, but not everyone might feel the same way about the game and its greatness—and shortcomings.

But enough about my waffling, what do you think of the game so far? Is there anything you like about the game and gameplay? Did the story surprise you? Are there some improvements you'd like to see made? Overall, share anything and everything in the comments below for us to take a gander!

Yooka-Replaylee

UK-based studio Playtonic, known for the Yooka-Laylee series, is the latest studio to see layoffs in the industry following mass social media posts from now former employees.

Some of those who have lost their jobs have been shared on LinkedIn by a Playtonic employee, listing multiple people from various parts of the company, including production, art, VFX, and junior positions. More layoffs might be revealed over time, but it stresses the turbulent times in our industry currently, with job losses sadly becoming the norm across big and indie studios alike.

Playtonic Games was originally founded in 2014 by previous Rare devs who created Yooka-Laylee as a spiritual successor to the Banjo-Kazooie series. Since then, the studio has mainly gone into publishing under Playtonic Friends and has been looking to release a remake of their first game, called Yooka-Replayee, sometime in 2025.

Playtonic Friends has also published lots of charming games these past years, including Lil Gator Game, and was lining up a release for Castle Pixel's Cattle Country sometime this year. It is unclear how these layoffs will affect Playtonic both in making games and publishing, at this time, or if there are more to come.

It's a pretty dire time for the industry as a whole, with Playtonic Games one in a line of studios announcing layoffs, game cancellations, and more dire news. More recently, EA also announced a large layoff round that affected 'hundreds' of employees and saw multiple game cancellations, including a rumored Titanfall project.

Microsoft also recently reportedly announced a layoff of three percent of its workforce, representing its biggest round of cuts since 2023. Though it's unclear if this layoff will affect its gaming division or other parts of the company as a whole.

It's a pretty dire time, Destructoid. Motivation and willpower are at an all-time low across the industry, and no one appears to be safe. But let's try to keep some positivity and support each other as best we can—it's the least we can do.

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond Switch 2 edition

The Nintendo Today app has been giving Nintendo fans daily news and looks at stuff surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 for weeks now, but it's a recent posting regarding mouse sensitivity that is the most classic Nintendo thing we have seen in a while.

For those who haven't been keeping up with news, the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons can be used as a mouse if you tilt them onto their side, giving you a wealth of options to play games like Metroid Prime 4 with a mouse-like cursor for aiming instead of using the joysticks for those who want to play that way.

I was actually able to try the game at a recent Nintendo Switch 2 event, and during my playtime, I felt that the sensitivity for the mouse wasn't great and felt stiff, so I was excited to hear about this news this morning. Until I saw what the mouse sensitivity looked like.

https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/1ks03r1/nintendo_today_shows_off_the_ability_to_change/

Instead of a slider like most mouse sensitivity options, Nintendo has done a classic Nintendo and given you not one, not two, but THREE glorious options when it comes to mouse sensitivity, letting you set it to low, medium, or high—whatever that means. As one Nintendo fan put it on Reddit, "Giving three options instead of a slider is just classic Nintendo."

Obviously, a lot of Nintendo fans have been having fun trolling the screenshot, calling the current options "liberating" as well as some humorously declaring that more sensitivity options will "only be available for Nintendo Switch Online users," the latter of which really made me laugh.

You can also turn off mouse controls entirely, which is a nice touch, which is perfect if, for some reason, you like playing your games tilting the Joy-Con horizontally and were worried doing so would turn on the mouse controls in the palm of your hand.

We'll have to wait and see what the main differences are, though, between these mouse sensitivity options when the Nintendo Switch launches on June 5. And if Nintendo will offer further options down the line for players to fine-tune their experience to one that suits them.

Kubfu can finally evolve into Urshifu in Pokémon Go, but trainers will find they have two distinct evolutions to pick from. Deciding which you want to choose is vital, as both have their own strengths and weaknesses.

These differences offer unique bonuses depending on your play style, with both forms of Urshifu having their own benefits depending on what you are after. To me, though, there's a clear winner when it comes to choosing which Urshifu to get, or you can always get both if you bought the special ticket at the start of the season that gave you two Kubfu.

Is it better to evolve Kubfu into Single Strike Style or Rapid Strike Style in Pokémon Go?

https://twitter.com/PokemonGoApp/status/1919482355032449118

In the core games, Single Strike Style Urshifu feels far superior Pokémon to Rapid Strike Style, and we have to agree that it's probably the same in the mobile game. Both Urshifus have similar stats in the mobile game, but in terms of preference, the Fighting and Dark-type feels like the better call to the Water Fighting typing—but it's really down to personal preference.

All Single Strike Style Urshifu stats in Pokémon Go

Single Strike Style Urshifu is a Fighting and Dark-type Pokémon and shares a bit more similarity with its counterpart.

Abilities Stats
Pokémon Type Fighting and Dark-type
Base Stamina Rate 225
Base Attack Rate 254
Base Defense Rate 177

These are all the moves Single Strike Style Urshifu can use in Pokémon Go.

All Fast Attacks All Charged Attacks Max Moves
Counter Brick Break Max Knuckle
Rock Smash Close Combat Max Darkness
Sucker Punch Dynamic Punch
Payback

All Rapid Strike Style Urshifu stats in Pokémon Go

Single Strike Style Urshifu is a Fighting and Dark-type Pokémon and shares a bit more similarity with its counterpart.

Abilities Stats
Pokémon Type Fighting and Water-type
Base Stamina Rate 225
Base Attack Rate 254
Base Defense Rate 177

These are all the moves Rapid Strike Style Urshifu can use in Pokémon Go.

All Fast Attacks All Charged Attacks Max Moves
Counter Brick Break Max Knuckle
Rock Smash Close Combat Max Geyser
Waterfall Dynamic Punch
Aqua Jet

How to evolve Kubfu into Urshifu?

To evolve Kubfu into Urshifu, you must have Kubfu as your Buddy Pokémon and then proceed to do the following.

  • To get Single Strike Urshifu, you need to defeat 30 Dark-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles while Kubfu is your Buddy Pokémon
  • To get Rapid Strike Urshifu, you need to defeat 30 Water-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles while Kubfu is your Buddy Pokémon

You also need to use 200 Kubfu Candy to evolve after reaching these milestones, so you'll be playing for a long while until you finally are able to get either one of them.

Mario Kart on the Switch 2

Some very focused Nintendo fans have been combing through a lot of details about Switch 2 ahead of its release on June 5, with a few of them noticing an interesting nugget of information regarding the built-in GameChat feature that allows you to talk with friends on the system using the Switch 2 camera.

In the terms and conditions, Nintendo fans found that, in addition to needing an internet connection and a paid Nintendo Switch online membership to use GameChat, you'll also need to use your mobile phone number to register on GameChat to access the service.

Children must also get approval from parents or guardians via the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app to use GameChat, but that shouldn't be all that surprising.

https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch2/comments/1ksax7i/gamechat_requires_a_phone_number_linked_to_your/#lightbox

This makes a lot of sense to me and the vast majority of people reading about it today. While it can feel like a headache, it's there to offer some form of protection when using a camera with potential strangers, even though you need to be Nintendo Switch friends to use the camera with one another—not that it'll stop YouTube click farmers from complaining about this and every other feature in some fashion.

It's also fairly typical for social media companies where it might be possible for kids to communicate with one another to input a phone number as an extra layer of protection. Not saying GameChat is a new wave of social media, but these protections have to exist for a reason. Even if children need to get approval through a Parental Controls app, these extra layers of protection are there to stop the worst situations from happening, especially for a company like Nintendo, which has a family-friendly image to keep.

The potential for GameChat to be misused is there, so I'm all for putting as many limitations as possible to prevent the worst from unfolding. But what do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

A Build an Island player is keeping bees

Build an Island is such a relaxing Roblox game about gathering resources and expanding your piece of paradise. However, one thing that always stops our progress slightly is the Gold. When we don't have Gold suddenly, everything stops until we make some. That's where Bees come in. With the help of busy Bees we can have a steady supply of Honeycombs, which sell for a pretty penny. To help you get started with beekeeping, here's How to get Bess in Build an Island.

Where to get Bees in Build an Island

Before you can start beekeeping in Build an Island, you need a place for the bees. Fortunately, the plot is right next to the Sawmill and the Workers hut (the place where you hire Lumberjacks and Miners). You'll know you built the right plot if you get three small pedestals in front of a flower patch.

Approach one of the three pedestals and build a Beehive. You need 30 Planks for one, which you can make at the Sawmill. After this, you'll have a nice place to host your bees. The only problem is: getting the actual Bees.

Build an Island: How to get Bees

You can buy Bees at the merchant, but, they aren't always available. In our experience every third or fourth refresh is when the Merchant will have only one bee available for sale for 120 Gold. Fortunately, you'll have plenty to do in the meantime, so just keep an eye on the top of the screen so you don't miss the message when the Merchant stock refreshes. Also, don't forget to use the Merchant Icon (on the right side of the screen) to instantly teleport to him.

Once you have your Bee, bring it to the Beehive and put it in. Now it's only a matter of waiting.

That's the best part: you don't really have to do anything, just let your Bees do the work. Each Beehive can host five bees, and they collectively work on making a single Honeycomb. This means that it's actually more profitable to have 2 bees working in two different beehives than to put 2 bees in just one.

To collect a Honeycomb, go to the back of the Beehive and collect it. Each Honeycomb sells for 40 Gold, and this will only increase in frequency the more bees you add to the Beehives.

That's all there is to it. Have fun keeping bees in Build an Island. If you need a similar game, check out Roblox Dig It.
