PCGamesN Thursday, August 21, 2025 12:56 PM If I haven't already made it clear, I loved the Battlefield 6 beta. It had its issues, sure, but I haven't felt this good about a new shooter in years. Much of the frustration I've seen from players online concerns itself with meagre map sizes and rapid time-to-kill. I would posit these issues often come down to the inconvenient truth that people are playing Battlefield 6 like Call of Duty, but I'm not going to deny there's some truth in these statements. Having had time to rifle through the troves of feedback from the series' biggest beta ever, the Battlefield team has announced massive changes to everything from weapon feel to movement. If they land, then expect BF6 to get a whole lot better. MORE FROM PCGAMESN: Battlefield 6 preview, Battlefield 6 release date, Best Battlefield 6 weapons |

PCGamesN Thursday, August 21, 2025 12:38 PM What is it with Warhammer games and adding more campaigns? Earlier this week, Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 4 announced that, firstly, it exists and, secondly, that it has no fewer than four interwoven campaigns. Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus 2 revealed it was adding a second campaign for the sequel at Gamescom last year, but we're only just finding out how interesting that will be. In the eternal battle between the humans who want to be robots and the robots who want to be humans, two perspectives promises twice as many opportunities for turn-based evolution. PCGamesN Thursday, August 21, 2025 12:44 PM "The most important thing is the campaign," says Jan Theysen, creative director at Dawn of War 4 developer King Art. He's paraphrasing the feedback that countless players left the developer during the development of its last RTS game, Iron Harvest. The quote also captures the spirit of online discussions surrounding the future of Dawn of War, which have sprung up practically every year since the ill-fated third entry played fast and loose with the genre. Players want a good campaign. They want to continue the story of the Blood Ravens. But I don't think anyone expected four campaigns, even in their dizziest daydreams. PCGamesN Thursday, August 21, 2025 12:05 PM What are the best Minecraft shaders? With shaders, you can instantly level up the look of your Minecraft world - even without an RTX graphics card. But with so many downloadable mods for the sandbox game, if you're unsure, let's start with what Minecraft shaders are. One of the best PC games of all time and the ongoing king of sandbox games, Minecraft has incredible replayability, keeping fans and newbies coming to the game time after time. While the vanilla game still gets regular updates, Minecraft mods, texture packs, resource packs, and shaders can completely reinvent the game, affecting its overall look. For example, mods can completely alter gameplay, and Minecraft texture packs and resource packs change the appearance of existing blocks and add new blocks, respectively. Meanwhile, shader packs give you the same game with fancier graphics and effects. Perhaps the most underrated long-runner is ZeniMax Online Studios' Elder Scrolls Online, which, unbeknownst to many, recently entered its second decade of life. PCGamesN Thursday, August 21, 2025 10:30 AM Benchmark results from a device called Valve Fremont have just appeared online, suggesting that a new Steam OS game console is in the works. This isn't the first time we've heard about the Fremont Valve (Gordon Fremont?) console project, but it's the first time we've seen a record of the hardware that could be in the machine, and the custom AMD chip in this leak is significantly more powerful than the one in the Steam Deck. Valve first attempted to produce its own Steam machines around a decade ago, but with limited game support, they failed to take off. However, now that Valve has nailed game support and a smooth OS with the Steam Deck, which still tops our best handheld buying guide, it looks as though the firm has looked at making a more powerful device that could plug into your TV. PCGamesN Thursday, August 21, 2025 9:51 AM Merry ol' England is teeming with culture. Yes, a worrying chunk of it may have been nicked from lands further afield, but the country responsible for The Beatles, Shakespeare, and putting a pie between two slices of bread and calling it a sandwich is surely capable of standing on its own two feet. From London's mixed architecture to the towering highrises of Manchester, the country's largest cities are veritable metropolises where you'll undoubtedly get stung for the price of beer. Then there's Birmingham. Despite being the UK's second-largest city, Birmingham is broadly considered the nation's ugly duckling. When Ocean Drive Studio announced God Save Birmingham, the jokes wrote themselves. 'A zombie game? In Birmingham? Just try walking down the high street' - lots of chortling and belly rumbling ensued. Bandai Namco continues to support the 2018 game Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker with new DLC, and the 45th add-on will bring Kakuzu to the game. He'll arrive quite soon, as the Akatsuki member's release date is August 22, 2025. He's also considered part of the seventh anniversary of the ongoing multiplayer game. The video also confirmed the 46th piece of DLC in this Naruto game will be Momoshiki Otsutsuki.
A first trailer looking at Kakuzu appeared alongside his reveal as Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker DLC. It highlighted gameplay, showing attacks like Earth Grudge: Stitch, Fire Style-Wind Style: Rare Folly, and Secret Technique Earth Grudge: Final Shot. That also confirmed the add-on comes with an Earth Grudge Costume Set, Kakuzu's Headgear, and a Kakuzu's Monstrous Arms weapon.
The video closed out by showing some of the other additions in this patch. While the Kakuzu DLC is arguably the biggest Naruto to Boruto: Shinobo Striker news, there are some other big seventh anniversary announcements. The 2.65 patch notes brought up a number of them. The Battle Road will offer a new reason to play. Whenever you take part in matches and exercises, you'll get points. Collect enough, and you go up tiers. This, in turn, means more scrolls and titles. However, the bulk of the changes involved rebalancing.
Here's the full trailer for the 2.65 updates. The Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker Momoshiki Otsutsuki teaser comes at the very end.
One of the last add-ons to appear ended up being Sasuke Uchiha (Young Ver. Final Battle). That free DLC debuted in February 2025.
Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker is available on the PS4, Xbox One and PC, and the Kakuzu DLC arrives on August 22, 2025.

At gamescom 2025, Activision Blizzard and Atlus announced a Persona 5 crossover for Overwatch 2, which seems like it will involve character skins from the series. It came up at the end of the Season 18 teaser trailer. Only the last few seconds highlighted it with a character dressed as Joker.
Here's the full announcement trailer. It almost looks like it could be Cassidy dressed as Joker, just with his hat off. However, the person's identity is uncertain for now.
The video also went over some additional updates to the game. The Stadium will feature Payload Road as a mode, and Quick Play will make it easier to get into matches with its faster features. We'll get a Draft Mode before matches to help with selecting characters. Wuyang will debut as a Support Hero in this next patch too.
Here's the dedicated Wuyang trailer that also appeared today.
This Persona 5 event marks the second video game crossover in Overwatch 2 in the last few months. Back in May 2025, Activision Blizzard and Capcom confirmed Street Fighterskins and cosmetics would come to the game. That involved a number of major characters like Chun-Li, Cammy, Ryu, Guile, Juri, and Zangief. Though, given how many Gundam games there are, the Gundam Wingcrossover in April 2025 could also count in a way.
Overwatch 2 is available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Persona 5 crossoverevent starts on , 2025. Persona 5 is on the PS3 and PS4, and Persona 5 Royal is on the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Finally, during a special announcement trailer at gamescom 2025, Team Cherry revealed a release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong. The Hornet-focused adventure will release on September 4, 2025.
Originally, Hollow Knight: Silksong began its life as planned DLC for the original game. However, its scope grew. Since then, we've seen hints of it at events and teases of images. However, there's been no solid signs of a release until 2025. During Opening Night Live on August 19, 2025, Geoff Keighley did bring it up and showed a brief gameplay snippet, but that was it.
You can see the full YouTube video here. The trailer establishes that Hornet is heading upward to the peak of the kingdom." It also noted there are 200 kinds of enemies.
We've seen so many hints that a release date for the game was upon us. SteamDB showed changes made to the product page on Valve's storefront. The ACMI Game Worlds museum announced it would be playable there at an exhibit starting on September 18, 2025. We learned it would be playable at Gamescom between August 20-24, 2025. The Nendoroids of the Knight and Hornet are coming back, though those two figures won't be back again until 2026.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC, and the release date is September 4, 2025.

Ahead of gamescom 2025, the official Pokemon social media account teased a reveal for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and it turned out to be a "found footage" trailer for Mega Victreebel. This is yet another completely new Mega Evolved character debuting in this entry. The nature of the video means we don't really get to see attacks, but we do get a very good look at its appearance.
In this Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Victreebel trailer, we see "The Case of the Sweet Scent Incident" involves found footage from a website. After getting permission, a pair enter an abandoned building. Almost immediately, they start to see odd purple liquid on the ground and smelling the "sweet scent." We see the young woman explore, while our perspective offers a first-person look through the eyes of the cameraman.
As they get into a main hallway of the building, they start to see Pokeon lurking about. Espurr, Spinarak, and Noibat show up all at once, one after the other. The two escape upstairs, and they smell the scent even more. It's then that they see someone else is up there, and Mega Victreebel appears.
Here's the full trailer. Fortunately, there's a relatively peaceful resolution.
Mega Dragonite is one of the other new evolutions showing up in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A will come to the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on October 16, 2025.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky ended up being a formative game for the series, and both characters and plot points still influence these titles decades after its release. But due to elements such as its age and availability, not everyone got to experience that. Nihon Falcom rectifies that in 2025 with the Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter remake and, from what I've seen of the prologue demo on PC, it seems very true to form.
As this Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter prologue demo is a slice of the game starting from the beginning, complete with a save file that can carry over, we're getting to hop right in with it. Things begin with a young Estelle at home, waiting for her Bracer father Cassius Bright to return. He does, but with a "gift." It's a beaten down young boy named Joshua. After establishing the three are now a family, things fast forward to Estelle and Joshua taking the exams to become Bracers themselves. They aren't quite seniors yet, but it's the first step toward doing the same kind of important issue-resolving work Cassius performs.
Of course, those of us familiar with the game and series know it's the start of both Estelle and Joshua becoming quite involved in the events of their community and country. But since this prologue demo is a brief taste of the Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, we won't get into that yet.
Now, we already had some idea that Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter would be faithful to the source material when Gungho and Falcom released the opening trailer that showed Estelle and Joshua meeting for the first time in the remake. The atmosphere and dynamic seemed identical, and the script seemed quite close to the original! One of the first things that struck me is how on-point this prologue demo's retelling of events seem. Every major moment is captured. The script is quite similar. From what I saw so far, the story beats and interactions appear incredibly accurate and true to what I previously experienced.
I also really appreciate the combat system. Things start with a more active series of attacks, before moving into the comforting familiarity of turn-based battles we are familiar with from past entries. It's easy to line up attacks and take advantage of AOE. Things move swiftly. It feels very user-friendly in this initial sample, and it is so simple to jump into it. Everything seems like it builds on some of the more recent The Legend of Heroes systems. I do think I'll be able to better gauge how I feel about it, especially the combination of systems, once I'm further in and not relying on early stables like Estelle and Joshua. However, it feels encouraging at the outset.

![]()
I will say, however, that this Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter prologue demo does feel a little clunky on my Lenovo Legion Go handheld gaming PC. In some cutscenes, characters seemed to move a bit slowly or awkwardly. The dash works fine, but the double speed option felt awry to me when I tried it. There were times when it didn't feel as responsive as I expected. Admittedly, this could be something that may come down to settings applied. I'm not concerned, but it does make me wondering what the performance will feel like on a Switch.
Playing through The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter prologue demo left me hopeful about the remake. It feels like Falcom did its best to maintain everything important about the original game, from things like the story and relationship dynamics to more important elements like combat. Did it feel a little iffy sometimes on my handheld gaming PC? Yes. But I'm optimistic about how this JRPG will be when it comes out next month.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will come to the Switch, PS5, and PC on September 19, 2025, and a demo is available now.

Are you ready for some more Black Ops? Call of Duty sure hopes you are, because Black Ops 7 is launching in a short while, and a beta test is coming up first.
As usual, pre-ordering the game will give you some early access to the beta. But if you don't mind waiting a few days, you can pick it up when the open beta arrives that same week if you're looking to give BO7 a try without putting down any money just yet.
Let's look at all the essential details about the BO7 beta from Activision.

The Call of Duty Black Ops 7 beta has two important dates to remember. The open beta kicks off officially on Oct. 5 on all available platforms. However, an early access period begins on Oct. 2. In short, those with early access will be able to hop in 72 hours early.
We will have to wait for Activision and their plans regarding the official starting times. The following countdown is based on when new seasons typically begin in Call of Duty titles, which will help you get a fair idea about when the open beta for Black Ops 7 could begin.
Once again, the timings aren't from an official source and speculation for now. Once we get confirmation about the exact launch timings, we will update them on our countdown to help you stay on track.
How to play the BO7 beta

The BO7 beta is available to all players on Oct. 5, but you can play as early as Oct. 2 if you pre-order the game.
The dates have been confirmed by Activision, so you can call in sick now if you want to play as soon as possible. If you decide to pre-order any of the available bundles of Black Ops 7, you're guaranteed early access to the open beta. Additionally, you'll also be entitled to the following benefits:
What's included in the BO7 beta?
Full details about what's to come in the BO7 beta will likely come on Sept. 30 at Call of Duty NEXT, a live streamed presentation about what's to come in CoD. Recent CoD beta tests have included a small sampling of multiplayer maps and weapons, along with special unlocks that carry into the full game.
More details about BO7, its beta, multiplayer, Zombies, and even BO7's integration into Warzone will be announced at CoD Next, which is just a few days before the early access beta begins.

After a long, long time of waiting, Hollow Knight: Silksong finally has a release date. Its developers were fairly silent during development and took their sweet time, not because of any particular issue or controversy, but because making the game was just too damn fun.
Speaking to Bloomberg, Hollow Knight creators Ari Gibson and William Pellen said the game is "a vehicle for [their] creativity," and that no particular issue or controversy caused its long development cycle. "We were having fun... It's nice to make fun things," Gibson told Bloomberg. Though it saw vast silent periods where the developers didn't reveal any new details about it, Silksong "was never stuck" and kept on progressing without any issues behind the scenes.
![]()
The devs knew from very early on, following the success of the first Hollow Knight game, that it'd be a giant title, with a deep quest system, multiple locations, and numerous characters. However, the development process could have ended up never-ending, given how the developers approached making the game. With everything happening so fast and ideas becoming content basically overnight, Team Cherry easily lost itself in the chaos of fun.
"It's for the sake of just completing the game that we're stopping. We could have kept going," Pellen explained.
Gibson even said he had to stop drawing at some point because every sketch and idea of his ended up in the game. He eventually realized that, if he didn't stop sketching, the game'd "take 15 years to finish."
But, thankfully, Team Cherry came around and recognized everything that should (and should not) make the cut, finally bringing the seven-year production heaven to an end.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming out on Sept. 4, eight years after the first game captivated millions with its metroidvania Soulslike concept, beautiful art style, unique characters, and flashy combat.

The ambience of the new Mega Victreebel trailer is amazing. A dark mansion at night, inhabited by creepy Pokémon scaring people who dare to venture into it. It's a shame Pokémon Legends: Z-A won't have that same vibe, but it's never too late to make a new game with that, right, Nintendo?
A horror game is what Pokémon needs as a franchise. It's been a long time coming, and you Pokémon fans out there know that. The game and anime have always been kid-friendly, which is shown even in this Legends: Z-A Mega Victreebel trailer where, in the end, there's nothing dark or haunting about the Pokémon, just a trainer's Victreebel that Mega-Evolved and got a bit too excited with it, but quickly dismisses any perception of bad will by smiling in the very end of the trailer.
Take the exact mansion from this trailer, expand it, and make it explorable in first person. Fill it with ghosts, some jumpscares, and gameplay like Pokémon Snap where your focus is to try to capture pictures of ghost-type Pokémon. But it can't stop there.
This Pokémon horror game should avoid being silly and instead focus on pure horror, even if it has no blood or graphic violence. It would be boring if a Chandelure jumped on you to end a run, and the game just said, "A Chandelure scared you away!"
One of Chandelure's Pokédex entries says, "It absorbs a spirit, which it then burns." I want Chandelure to take my character's soul if it gets too close. I want my character to have the chills because a Gengar is absorbing their body heat. I want them to hallucinate to Mismagius' incantations. There are so many visual and sound effects you can add to a game to induce horror based only on creepy Pokédex descriptions that leaving it all unexplored in the video games for 30 years feels like a waste.
I want quests where you go into the forest to try to give a Phantump a gift from the family of the kid whose soul is possessing them. Maybe you could protect a child from their stalking, cursed doll that became a Banette. The more you dive into how Ghost Pokémon are described in the games, the more you realize there is already lore and content for a great horror game.
It's easy to dismiss the idea of a mature Pokémon horror game. The Pokémon Company is known for making games, shows, and toys as accessible to all ages as possible, and a horror game would be a big shift from that logic.
The Pokémon manga, however, had serious and even violent tones a few times. A Charmeleon slices Arbok in half in Chapter 14 of Volume 1; Unova gym leaders were tied to crucifixes in the 60th chapter of the Black & White arc; Zinnia is stabbed by Rayquaza in the 20th chapter of the Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arc. Ghost Pokémon taking the player's soul doesn't look too bad.
I doubt this Pokémon horror game wish will ever come true. Considering I also want a Pokémon MMO, I think I should have fewer expectations so that I don't have my dreams crushed by The Pokémon Company.

We need to talk about Mega Victreebel, Pokémon fans.
The latest Mega Evolution revealed for the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A is for the Gen 1 grass/poison plant that evolves from Bellsprout and Weepinbell, and apparently its final form is one that is blatantly "sussy" as the kids like to say.
![]()
Victreebel has always been a bit odd-looking, to be honest. It's an upside down bell-shaped plant with leaves and vines, and creepy eyes that are placed under its gaping mouth. But this Mega Evolution really ups the weirdness in a number of ways.
First, I mean, look at the sheer size of that bulbous sac. It's gargantuan, and it's also crucial in its design and function. In the game, the sac that it sits and bounces on is filled with venom, and Mega Victreebel is able to secrete the venom out of its mouth, draining the sac of all of its inner juices.
Secondly, what's with the vines wrapped around its neck? Or its head? Does it use its own vines to drain the sac of its venom like squeezing the last bit of toothpaste out of the tube? The implications of this thing's design really make you scratch your head.
And of course, the title of a video on the Pokémon YouTube channel showcasing the new evolution states that "Mega Victreebell Raises a Stink!" So it's a stinky sac, too. Got it. Thanks, I was leaning that way, but now we know for sure.
Why is the head so small, and why is the sac so big? Why is it so damn bouncy?! People thought that Mega Dragonite's design was odd, but this one definitely has to take the prize for "WTF" when it comes to newer Pokémon designs.
I genuinely don't understand what The Pokémon Company was going for here. Unless, of course, they were trying to make a Pokémon that looks like genitalia, because then they were spot on, 10 out of 10, no notes necessary.
Okay, maybe I'm being a bit childish. But seriously. Look at that thing. What the hell?

Star Path event tasks are often disguised as tricky clues you have to solve to figure out what needs to be done in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Quests like the one that asks you to dig up a root vegetable with many eyes can make finishing this event tough.
There are lots of unique vegetables growing around the valley, and even more of them if you have additional DLC packs like A Rift in Time and The Storybook Vale installed. Only one specific item works for this task, so here's what the root vegetable with many eyes is in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Table of contents
A root vegetable with many eyes in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
The root vegetable with many eyes is the Potato in Disney Dreamlight Valley. This clue references the many small sprouts that grow out of Potatoes that can be used to grow more of them.
These sprouts are commonly referred to as eyes, and Potatoes are a root vegetable that grows in the ground. With these two pieces of information combined, you have the full scope of why they're the right item for this task.
How to dig up a root vegetable with many eyes in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To complete the dig up a root vegetable with many eyes task for the Retro Roadtrip Star Path, you need to harvest a total of 15 Potatoes. This isn't a massive amount, but you do still need to do a decent amount of planting, watering, and harvesting to get it done.
Potato Seeds can be purchased from Goofy's Stall in the Forgotten Lands biome for 55 Star Coins. If you have A Rift in Time, you can also find them at his stall in the Wild Tangle biome for the same price. Each seed you plant only grows one Potato, so you will likely need 50 Potato Seeds to get this task done. Your character may sometimes get a few golden crops that grant additional ones, but it's completely random and luck-based, so it's best to just plant 15 seeds to be safe.
Potatoes take about 35 minutes to grow in most biomes. They grow a bit faster in the Forgotten Lands and Wild Tangle regions, but only by a few minutes. You need to water Potato plants three times throughout the growing process before they can be harvested.
![]()
All plants stop growing while waiting to be watered, so keep a close watch on your Potato plants to ensure you give them water as swiftly as possible. If you don't, the growing process will take longer than expected.
Be sure to bring along a villager who specializes in the gardening role when tackling this task. Having a friend at your side means you'll find additional Potatoes while harvesting. The extra ones they find won't count for the Star Path task, but it's still worth having a friend by your side to stock up on this essential ingredient for cooking or to sell for Star Coins.
Finishing this task gets you 20 Tokens to spend in the Retro Roadtrip Star Path event. It's a pretty decent prize for the fairly minimal effort you have to put into this task. If you still need more Tokens to claim the reward you're after, though, consider practicing mine-fulness, tackling week one routine duties, and digging for pottery material.

Sadness sends you on quite a few tricky missions throughout her friendship quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but one of the toughest ones you'll face asks you to find Wall-E's pillow and Goofy's pillow. This happens during her Fortress of Saditude quest.
You've made her a pretty epic pillow fort already, but there's still a bit more you need to get down to truly make it perfect, including finding some extra pillows to make it even bigger. Two of the pillows you need to get are decently tricky to recover, so here's how to collect Wall-E's pillow and Goofy's pillow in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Table of contents
How to get Wall-E's pillow and Goofy's pillow in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
You can find Wall-E's pillow and Goofy's pillow out in the valley during The Fortress of Saditude quest. Both items are found and different spots, and have a unique process for obtaining them.
How to get Wall-E's pillow in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Wall-E's pillow is the easier of the two to find since it's sitting in a cube near the front right corner of Wall-E's house. His home can be placed anywhere in the main valley, one of the DLC worlds, or on a Floating Island, so where you need to go for this quest varies depending on where you have him set up.
Equip your Royal Pickaxe and swing at the cube once to start breaking the cube, then hit it a second time to fully free the book. Pick it up off the ground so you can move on to the next step.
Where to find Goofy's pillow in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
Goofy's pillow can be found in the water around the Dazzle Beach biome. Goofy lost it somewhere in the water, so you need to equip your Royal Fishing Rod and fish around this area to find it.
Fish Goofy's pillow out of the water in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Goofy's pillow can only be fished out of a gold ripple spot at Dazzle Beach. This fishing spot wasn't there right away for me, and I also had a really tough time getting a gold bubble spot to spawn at all, no matter how much I tried.
What worked for me was fishing all of the other colored ripple spots that appeared around this biome. Eventually, as I was fishing out of a blue bubble spot, a gold one appeared to my right, just a few feet away from where I was standing. Fishing out of this one finally got me Goofy's pillow.
If you're having trouble finding a gold spot, too, fish out of all the bubble spots that appear around this area until you eventually get a gold one to appear. It might take a while, but one will eventually surface.
![]()
There's plenty more to get done around the valley after completing this mission. Next, you might try completing the Dream a Little Dream quest, placing stalls in DLC worlds, finishing all Retro Roadtrip Star Path duties, and tackling the Get Nostalgic! duty.

Hollow Knight Silksong is real, and we finally have confirmation about the upcoming title's release date. After years of asking when we will get the sequel, it's coming sooner than you may expect.
Team Cherry's sequel to the first Hollow Knight game will drop in early September. The date has been confirmed by the latest trailer showcased on YouTube. Let's quickly look at when we can start the new adventure.
Table of contents
Hollow Knight Silksong release countdown
Hollow Knight Silksong is coming to PC and consoles on Sept. 4. In simple words, we have exact couple of weeks left (at the time of writing) for the sequel to go live. The game will be available on current and old-gen consoles of both Xbox and PlayStation, along with ports for both versions of the Nintendo Switch, and PC.
As of writing, there doesn't appear to be an exact release time. However, the countdown below is based on the launch schedule that Team Cherry followed for the first game.
We will check the official PlayStation, Steam, and Xbox stores to stay updated with the confirmed launch timings. Although possible, I don't believe Team Cherry will go with regional launches. Last time around, the first game was originally released on PC in 2017, followed by console ports in 2018. This time, both PC and console launches will be held simultaneously.
Hollow Knight Silksong features
Silksong will be the direct sequel to the first game, and the trailer on Aug. 21 showcased what to expect. While the core gameplay remains the same, we found plenty of new enemies you'll have to take down on your journey.
You step into the shoes of Horney and explore an ancient kingdom of insects haunted by silk and song. Solve mysteries and destroy your enemies to reach the kingdom's peak. Once we have more information on the storefronts, we will update them in our guide.

Sadness and Joy's friendship quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley focus on figuring out the mysteries behind a peculiar plush bear, all the while helping your villagers feel happy. The Big Worry is all about taking everyone's concerns and burying them deep underground and seeing what happens.
Table of contents
Starting the Big Worry quest
Completing the Big Worry quest requires finishing Joy's level seven quest, Imagination Land, and reaching level seven with Sadness. You also need to have The Beast and Elsa unlocked as permanent villagers, alongside opening Frosted Heights. Once you meet these prerequisites, you'll be ready to start the mission.
Invite some villagers to Sadness's talking session
During the introduction of Sadness's Big Worry quest, you'll learn that she has never hosted a party before. She decides to invite some villagers to a get-together in hopes of having them relieve some stress by talking to one another. You'll need to invite the following characters:
Depending on the time of day, you may need to wait for certain characters to wake up if they're asleep. Otherwise, they'll all agree to join the party without any concerns.
Make Margherita pizza and Gooseberry boba tea
Once you tell the five about the talking session, return to Sadness to get your next task. This portion is split up into two parts—food and decorations. Starting with the food, you'll need to make Margherita pizzas and Gooseberry boba tea. Here are the recipes for both:
You'll need four of each ingredient, so prepare ahead of time to avoid making multiple trips to Chez Remy or your favorite stove.
![]()
These dishes are relatively easy to make if you're familiar with the recipes already. Wheat is available from Peaceful Meadow's Goofy stall, while cheese and milk are purchasable from Chez Remy. You can buy tomatoes and sugar cane from Dazzle Beach, while gooseberries require venturing into the Forgotten Lands and foraging. Lastly, you can get spices in any biome.
Gather materials for Sadness's talking sessions
Once you make both dishes, you'll immediately get your next task of collecting items for the talking session's decorations. Here's a list of everything you need:
By now, you'll already have the boba tea and Margherita pizza, so you won't need to worry about them unless you accidentally sell or eat them. Alongside the regular softwood requirement, you'll also need an additional 12 and eight fiber for the tissue boxes, both of which are early-game resources.
![]()
The tricky part is obtaining fabric and Black Passion Lilies. You'll either need to buy the fabric from Kristoff's stall or farm 60 cotton for them, which you can find in the Sunlit Plateau. Black Passion Lilies spawn exclusively in Frosted Heights, but you can also check up on The Beast's flower stall and try to get lucky with its randomized drops.
Grow the Big Worry
After collecting the decoration materials and food for the talking session, return to Sadness to start the event. Everyone will express their worries and concerns, leading to a strange blue orb developing. You decide to call it the "Big Worry" and come up with the idea of growing it to see what happens. Once you grab it, dig a hole anywhere in your village before planting the orb.
![]()
If you use a Miracle Growth Elixir on your watering can before watering the orb, you'll receive its drop immediately. Otherwise, you'll need to wait five minutes for it to grow. Whether you wait around or leave and return later is entirely up to you. Regardless of your choice, you'll find some plush bear buttons once it's done growing.
Water the sad rain clouds
Our last objective of the Big Worry quest, after a brief conversation with Sadness about the plush bear buttons, is to find more rain clouds and clear them away with water. They spawn in the following biomes:
They're identical to the clouds you experienced during the Storm's A-Brewin'! quest. I mostly found them in the forest and around Peaceful Meadow, with a few extras scattered around the other three biomes. Finding all 12 clouds and talking to Sadness will automatically conclude the mission and ready you for Joy's final quest.

When it comes to the best units in Fish Tower Defense there are four roles to consider. Some units are for cash farm like the Lucky Fish, some for AOE, some for single target boss-killer damage and some are summoners. There's also a fifth loose category which are the best starters and I'll comment on these units below in the stat section. I'm going to show you the best ones across all categories in this Fish Tower Defense tier list and guide.
Table of contents
Fish Tower Defense Unit Tier List
![]()
This Fish Tower Defense tier lists focuses on both great DPS, summon tanking, and starter potential. While the Lucky Fish is usually the best starter to quickly farm some coins, there are also other great ones. For Atlantis, the Atlantis Strider does really well and for the early-to-mid game the Trishark and Humpback Whale are pretty good. Note that some of the Meta DPS units in S and A are pay-to-win so if you don't want to spend Robux I provided great free alternatives. Now let's analyze all attack types, stats and abilities for all units below.

While Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 are set to release a month apart from each other, that's not stopping the internet from going full-bore on the debate for which is better.
In the days since BO7's full reveal at Gamescom, it feels like all of the talk online has been about how everyone seems to prefer BF6. BF6's open beta was received very well by most players, leading to a whopping 2.7 million wishlists on Steam—and growing.
![]()
BO7, meanwhile, is a direct sequel to Black Ops 6, a game that launched just last year. And according to internet comments on just about every platform there is, it just does not compare to the excitement that gamers are feeling for BF6.
The BO7 gameplay reveal trailer from Gamescom has a comment section littered with negativity, and players instead lauding BF6. One comment in fact, has more likes than the video itself. "This actually made be pre-order Battlefield 6," said YouTube user southpaw3020, racking up over 105,000 likes, compared to the video's 42,000 despite over 28 million views.
And this is on top of a number of community polls, like one run by ModernWarzone (a predominant Call of Duty account by reputation) where 72 percent of those who voted picked BF6 over BO7. But as they say, the real votes will come with wallets.
So, yeah. Right now, when it comes to holding a finger on the pulse of FPS gamers, BF6 is winning the FPS war. But will that matter? Will BF6 prevent enough gamers from buying BO7? I don't know. CoD is the closest thing to "bulletproof" when it comes to games considering it's a yearly release that sells millions of copies no matter what.
I'm sure there will be some players who are swayed to BF6 over BO7, but I know for a fact that there are some who simply prefer CoD's gameplay style over BF6's. I know this because I am one of them. I played the beta and enjoyed it, but I know from past experiences that BF6 is not a game I will stick with over time.
I doubt I'll play BO7 too much either (outside of work obligations). But I know that, at least for the campaign, Zombies, and nostalgia-laden multiplayer, there's more value for myself personally than with BF6.
I also think this sentiment may change when the BO7 beta comes out in October, because players haven't had a chance to try out both games yet. Maybe this will make BF6 take an even bigger lead, or maybe more will enjoy BO7 once they've tried it. Time will tell.
So now, I must poll you, dear readers. Which FPS will you be picking up in the fall of 2025? Let us know in the comments and poll below.

The Case for Sweet Scent Incident trailer promised Pokémon Legends Z-A players a mystery surrounding a strange smell, but few could have predicted the outcome.
As it turned out in the trailer, the source of the smell was a Pokémon we all know and love since the Gen-1 days, but like Pokémon Legends Z-A, there's something new. In fact, this is the first time that Mega Victreebel has been confirmed to be a part of the upcoming title, which certainly has added another reason for my excitement.
Mega Victreebel wasn't on my Pokémon Legends Z-A bingo card
Pokémon Legends Z-A is shaping up to be a Pokémon game unlike any other. From the core battle system to a battle royale mode, things will differ from what we have seen over the last few years. We're even getting a passive poisoning system (I am still divided on whether it will be cool).
A new Mega is something I expected. A Mega Victreebel, however, left me surprised. We also got a confirmed glimpse of how the Pokémon will look in the game. It's fair to say that The Pokémon Company has taken a rather innovative approach with the reveal.
Instead of a typical trailer, we saw the unravelling of a mystery, with two young sleuths trying to figure out more about the smell. This leads them to a dilapidated building where the duo gets scared of their lives (the main culprit being Spinarak) before coming face-to-face against Mega Victreebel.
Fortunately, it wasn't a wild Pokémon; its trainer had lost control of it in its Mega form. As it appeared in the following newspaper, the trainer apologized for the commotion and promised to train in the open next time.
Visually, the Mega version retains the colour palette of Victreebel, but is significantly larger in size. The sweet scent comes from its Acid, which is the main context of the mystery.
Expect to find Mega Victreebel and many more Pokémon on your journey in Pokémon Legends Z-A when the game releases worldwide on Oct. 16.

You read that headline properly. Silksong, the massively hyped MetroidVania and follow-up to Hollow Knight is not only coming out really soon, but it's got an official release date.
Team Cherry made the announcement today during a new video posted during Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, much to the surprise and delight of countless gamers the world over who have been looking forward to the game since its initial announcement over six years ago. It's officially releasing on Sept. 4, which is just two weeks from today.
![]()
Silksong follows Hornet, the former princess of Hallownest. In this game, the playable heroine has been kidnapped and then must take on a pilgrimage to ascend to the peak of the Kingdom of Pharloom, which is described as being "haunted by silk and song," hence the title.
This has been a unique build-up of hype for Silksong, which originally was conceived as a DLC for Hollow Knight, which came out way back in 2014. Hornet's adventures have been awaited ever since, especially when Team Cherry revealed that it would be a standalone game in 2019.
But for the most part, Silksong has been missing in action from industry showings for some time, leaving players to believe it was never going to come out. And so the memes of "where's Silksong" during every single gaming showcase ever since had begun.
Well, Silksong is finally and officially almost here now, so pull out those credit cards and download it ASAP. This is what you've been waiting for. I don't know if I'll be hopping in myself, as I have the original game in my backlog for several years already now, but I do hope everyone else has fun.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Joy thinks she's finally found a way to uncover the last pieces of the mysterious bear plush, but she needs your help to find them in Disney Dreamlight Valley. To help her out, you need to navigate through the Dream a Little Dream quest.
In this mission, you have to stage yet another Dream Production, but this one is a bit different since it unfolds in the valley rather than the Inside Out Realm. There's a lot to get done, so here's a complete walkthrough for the Dream a Little Dream quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Table of contents
How to complete Dream a Little Dream in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
To complete Dream a Little Dream quest, you need to fully stage and produce a new Dream Production in the valley. There are many smaller components to this mission, like gathering materials, crafting items, setting up, and running the show, so here's a full walkthrough of how to get it all done.
Return to the Inside Out Realm
To start this process, you need to venture back into the Inside Out Realm. You can access this area through the door on the right side of the very top floor of the Dream Castle or teleport there instantly using the map.
Find the materials for the Dream Production
Before you can start a new Dream Production, you must find the right materials to make the show a success. This means you need to search around the Realm to find a selection of required items, including:
![]()
Bring the Dream Documentation to Belle
Once you have all the required items gathered, exit the Inside Out Realm and track down Belle around the valley. Chat with her to pass over the Dream Documentation, then meet up with Joy to discuss your progress.
Craft the Camera Lens Filter
Joy wants the show to look extra special, so your next mission is to craft a Camera Lens Filter. Head to any crafting station around the valley and switch over to the Functional Items page to craft this item using:
Go to the secret chamber in the Frosted Heights
![]()
You have all of the gear you need, so it's now time to set the stage at Joy's chosen location, which is the secret chamber in the Frosted Heights. It's likely been a while since you ventured here, so if you forgot where it was, head to the northeast end of the biome to find a glowing blue door in the wall slightly right of the river.
Place the filming equipment in the secret chamber
Once you're inside the secret cave, your next task is to place down all of the filming equipment you grabbed from the Inside Out Realm earlier. Approach the four sparkling spots on the ground and transfer the required item at each one. With everything now ready to go, chat with Joy about what comes next, place the Camera Lens Filter you made on the camera facing the stage, and have a chat with Sadness.
Talk to the Forgotten
You decide your counterpart, the Forgotten, should be the star of the show, so you now need to ask them if they're willing to do so. Find the Forgotten around the valley and have a chat with them to see if they're up for it. They agree to help out, so head back to the secret chamber to get the show started. Talk to the Forgotten once you're inside.
Craft three new Light Bulbs
![]()
The stage lights broke, so you need to make three new Light Bulbs so the show can go on. Head over to the crafting station near the wall by the entrance, then switch over to the Functional Items page to start making them using six Glass. Give the Light Bulbs to Joy once you're done making them.
Find the right mood for the start of the scene
This special show requires specific lighting, so your next goal is to find the right mood for the start of the scene by changing the lighting. Walk over to the buttons near the right side of the stage and interact with the yellow one on the left side to try a joyful mood.
Find the right mood for the middle of the scene
After watching the introduction to the show, you need to find the right mood for the middle of the scene by altering the lighting again. Press the blue button right in the middle to create a sad mood, then press the red button and the yellow button once to get rid of the other colors.
Find the right mood for the end of the scene
![]()
The show's almost over, so it's time to close it out by finding the right mood for the end of the scene by switching up the lighting one last one. This time, you need to create an angry purple mood, which can be done by toggling the red button once to mix it in with the blue lighting you previously added.
Watch the rest of the show, then grab the Yellow Plush Yarn that drops on the ground. Talk to Joy one last time to officially complete the Dream a Little Dream quest and get one step closer to solving the bear mystery. With this quest done, you can now get to work on other tricky tasks like completing all Retro Roadtrip Star Path duties, tackling the Get Nostalgic! duty, and placing stalls in DLC worlds.

Disney Dreamlight Valley has plenty of secret, tricky duties for you to tackle. For these types of missions, you often only have the name to go off, as is the case with the Get Nostalgic! task.
Since your only clue doesn't provide any solid insight, it can be quite tough to figure out what needs to be done for this quest. It's an essential one to get done if you're interested in unlocking an exclusive prize, so here's how to complete Get Nostalgic! in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Table of contents
Get Nostalgic! duty in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
To complete the Get Nostalgic! duty, you need to find all pieces of the Nostalgia memory. This can be accomplished by finding Riley's Phone around the valley. There are 10 pieces of the memory, so you need to find at least 10 of Riley's Phones.
Depending on how lucky or unlucky you are, though, you might need to find even more, as not all instances of this item are guaranteed to grant a piece of the memory. Some of them might drop some Star Coins instead.
This task is part of the Memory Mania event. The 2025 installment isn't scheduled to start until Sept. 3, but it's currently a bit glitched, as many of the items you can collect in it are already appearing in the valley for some players. If you spot the required items, you can get this task done now, but if not, you may have to wait for it to begin.
So far, I've only managed to find two of Riley's Phones, and more haven't appeared. We'll update this guide once the official event is live, too, as all players will have access to the required items then, and we'll know exactly how many can appear, how long they take to respawn, and other such important details.
Where to find Riley's Phone in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
Riley's Phone spawns randomly anywhere on the ground in the Plaza biome. It's a very small green item marked by some golden sparkles. It's one of the tougher items to find across all events, as it's incredibly small and flat, making it easy to miss even when you're fairly close to it.
Get Nostalgic! reward in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Completing the Get Nostalgic! duty unlocks the special Nostalgia Capybara. This Companion is based on the Nostalgia character from Inside Out 2. All of the Companions featured in this event are from the same film, so there are plenty of other critters to unlock next after this one.
![]()
If you're not sure what to do after completing this duty, there are plenty of tasks worth working on around the valley. Next, you might try completing all Retro Roadtrip Star Path duties, placing stalls in DLC worlds, and finishing the Capture the Sun quest.

Sadness is officially a valley villager, but her arrival has been accompanied by some mysterious rain clouds plaguing the region in Disney Dreamlight Valley. She thinks it's all her fault, and it's up to you to get rid of them by tackling the Storm's A-Brewin'! quest.
There's much more to the rain clouds appearing than Sadness thinks, so you must work through solving a mystery in this mission. It can be quite tricky to get done, so here's a complete walkthrough for the Storm's A-Brewin'! quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Table of contents
How to complete Storm's A-Brewin'! in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
To complete the Storm's A-Brewin'! quest, you need to figure out what's actually causing the rain clouds and get rid of them. There are many steps to tackle throughout this process, so here's a full breakdown of everything you need to get done.
Take a picture of one of the indoor rain clouds
First, you need to learn more about the situation by taking a picture of one of the indoor rain clouds. You can find them inside Scrooge McDuck's shop, Chez Remy, and the Dream Castle, so pick any of these spots to snap your photo. Next, track down Joy to see if she has any ideas how to deal with this situation if it is being caused by Sadness.
Collect some blue Flowers for Sadness
To try and cheer Sadness up, you decide to find 10 blue Flowers to give her. For this quest, you can gather fresh flowers from around the village or use ones you have tucked away in storage. All blue Flowers that count for this task are as follows.
Craft some items to help the villagers open up to you
![]()
Since the clouds don't go away, you realize Sadness might not be the cause of them, and that other villagers around the valley might be sad too. To test your theory, you and Sadness devise a plan to check in on other characters, but before you can do so, you need to make some items to help the villagers open up to you. There are two items you must craft to progress, which are:
Chat with Sadness once you have these items made and equip the Crying Eye Glasses so you can prepare for what's next. It's now time to check in on some villagers around the valley.
Take care of the indoor rain clouds in Chez Remy
Head to Remy's restaurant Chez Remy wherever you have it placed in the valley. Once you're inside, find Remy and chat with him to see how he's doing. Help him work through his feelings, and the rain clouds at this location will vanish, confirming that Sadness is not the one causing them.
![]()
Take care of the indoor rain clouds in Scrooge McDuck's Store
Next up, head to Scrooge McDuck's shop. Find its owner and have a chat with him just like you did for Remy. Talking him through his feelings gets rid of the rain clouds here, too, so you're making great progress in helping the valley now.
Take care of the indoor rain clouds in the Dream Castle
There's one more villager to help, and that's Mickey Mouse, who can be found inside the Dream Castle. Have a chat with him at this location to get rid of the clouds inside the castle. After this, have a chat with Sadness, who is still worried about more rain clouds appearing around the village.
Find a rain cloud in the Valley and take a picture of it
The rain clouds aren't gone yet, so your next task is to find one of the remaining ones and take a picture of it. There are four rain clouds hidden around your valley, all of which can only spawn in the Plaza and Peaceful Meadow biomes. Scour these two areas until you find them.
The locations of these rain clouds look different for all players since their spawn locations are random. I found two near the ramp leading down to the Glade of Trust from the Peaceful Meadow biome and snapped a photo with them to progress.
![]()
Chat with Sadness after finding the clouds to decide how to deal with them. She thinks overwhelming them with even more Sadness might work, and gives you a useful upgrade for your watering can. Apply Sadness's Tears from your inventory to upgrade your Watering Can.
Water the sad clouds with your Watering Can
Track down the four rain clouds around the Plaza and Peaceful Meadow biomes to water them using your freshly upgraded Watering Can. Watering the last one causes another piece of the mysterious Plush Bear to appear, so you're one step closer to unraveling the mystery present throughout the missions Joy and Sadness give you. For now, though, chat with Sadness one last time to officially finish the Storm's A-Brewin'! quest.

Now that Joy is an official villager in Disney Dreamlight Valley, she's looking for ways to inspire happiness around the valley. One of her key tasks is to start up a game for you and some villagers to play in the Capture the Sun quest.
You've never played Capture the Sun before, so navigating through this quest can be a bit tricky. It's an essential one to get done if you're trying to build your friendship with Joy, though, so here's a complete walkthrough for the Capture the Sun quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Table of contents
How to complete Capture the Sun in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
To complete the Capture the Sun quest, you need to find a spot to set up, rally some villagers who are willing to play, craft the required resources, and play the game. There's a lot to this one, so here's a full breakdown of all the key steps you need to tackle.
Find the best spot for a game of Capture the Sun
First, you need to scour around the vast valley to find some potential spots to set up. There are three locations you must check out, including:
At all of these locations, make sure you're quite close to the correct area when taking the pictures. It took me quite a few tries to get them to count, and each one only worked when I was super close to the specified region.
![]()
After snapping a picture at all three locations, find Joy to discuss which one you like best. Regardless of which one you recommend, Joy decided the Dream Castle works best for this project and sends you on your way to complete another essential step next.
Recruit players for the game of Capture the Sun
You need some characters willing to play to make a game of Capture the Sun happen, so your next task is to find and chat with four villagers. The characters you need to interact with are:
After convincing all four villagers to participate, return to Joy to share your progress. After chatting with her, you'll also get your next goal so you can get one step closer to playing the game.
Craft Flag Poles
Next up, you need to make five Flag Poles that can be used for the game of Capture the Sun. Head to any crafting station around your valley and switch over to the Functional Items tab to get to work making these items. Crafting the Flag Poles requires:
![]()
Once you have the Flag Poles made, find Joy again to pass them over. It's finally time for the game to begin, so head back inside Dream Castle to get things started. Just before it begins, you need to snap a picture with all the participants, so equip your Phone to do so. Chat with Joy right after to finally start the game.
Grab three Floating Suns and bring them to your own Flag Pole
The Capture the Sun game is officially on, and to win it, you need to grab three Floating Suns from around Dream Castle and bring them back to your Flag Pole. The suns are flying around all the levels and can be caught by running after them and interacting as soon as you're close to one.
Your Flag Pole is the one right in the middle on the bottom level. To make catching the suns easier, it's best to consume some food so you can fly or glide around much faster. Once you have three suns and place them at your Flag Pole, chat with Joy about how the game went.
![]()
You won, so Joy grants you a special prize. Unfortunately, the item she gives you isn't what she intended, and is a strange Plush Bear head. Chat with her about this odd reward, and she'll say she has no idea how this happened.
This is part of a larger mystery that spans across her quests and Sadness's quests, so you have to keep progressing to learn more. Work through all the quests Joy and Sadness give you to figure out where this bear came from. For now, though, the Capture the Sun quest is complete. Be sure to visit your mailbox sometime after finishing it to claim your real prize, which is a small Floating Sun decoration.
