PCGamesN Tuesday, August 26, 2025 4:45 PM No team has a legacy in League of Legends esports quite like T1. The South Korean juggernaut, spearheaded by the greatest to ever do it, Lee 'Faker' Sang-hyeok, secured a fifth World Championship title last year, and as is tradition, the triumphant players will be able to pick a character to be included in a commemorative skin line. After a pretty unprecedented wait, the reveal of T1's LoL Worlds 2024 skins has finally arrived, almost ten months on from the team actually lifting the trophy. With a black, red, and silver colorway spanning champions such as Varus and Vi, and some references to moments from the tournament, for many that wait will be well worth it. PCGamesN Tuesday, August 26, 2025 2:28 PM Call of Duty's relentless stream of eccentric and bizarre cosmetics have been receiving increased levels of heat in recent months, only exacerbated by the recent success of Battlefield 6's beta and promises from EA of a more grounded, realistic FPS experience. While there are no doubt people that enjoy zany crossover operators and ridiculous weapon variants, there's a general sense that things have gone too far. It seems the message is finally getting through, as Activision has today acknowledged the criticism that COD is losing its identity, and is promising a more "authentic" experience for Black Ops 7. To ensure that, it's also ditching its cosmetic carry-forward initiative that would've otherwise seen your skin collection from Black Ops 6 brought into BO7. Sorry, Butt-Head enjoyers. PCGamesN Tuesday, August 26, 2025 1:03 PM Every time so much as a light mist rolls in, the familiar quip is made: "it's like Silent Hill out here." The legendary horror franchise is wholly embedded into our cerebrum in some capacity, whether we've played it a dozen times, or only experienced its dreary atmosphere through osmosis. It's had its incredible highs; The Silent Hill 2 remake recently reminded us just how good it can be. It's also had its fair share of lows, including one movie I'd rather forget about, and more recently the so-so The Short Message and widely mocked Ascension. Speaking to Lauren at Gamescom, series producer Motoi Okamoto and game director Al-Yang acknowledge the recent critical bumpiness, but retain confidence that upcomer Silent Hill f will more than meet the bar set by Bloober Team. They do, in a way, but that's not why this game caught my attention. It was coincidental. Pretty cool, but coincidental nonetheless. I wanted to talk about Synchronizers: Undead Marines because of its unique take on StarCraft-esque strategy, how it turns RTS tropes on their heads to create what the devs call a "reverse tower defense" game. Crunchyroll announced that, ahead of Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc, it will offer The Compilation: Part 1 and Part 2. These are based on the original 12-episode anime series already on the streaming service. Both will appear in September 2025, though exact dates weren't set yet.
We already know how these compilation films will split things up, in case people watched certain persons of the original series or only want a refresher for a specific part. Chainsaw Man - The Compilation: Part 1 is the movie that will kick off with episode 1 and show how Denji became Chainsaw Man with Pochita's heart. So we'll see him meet Makima, be recruited to Public Safety Devil Extermination Special Division 4, and start working with Aki and Power. It goes up through the Eternity Devil encounter. Part 2 picks up in the midst of that mission, while also covering Gun Devil and Samurai Sword encounters.
While much of this will involve things we already saw from Mappa in the series, there will be new elements to these movies. Some of the early manga volumes' "Chainsaw Days" will be incorporated into it.
Chainsaw Man - The Compilation: Part 1 and 2 will condense the original anime series down to two movies and show up on Crunchyroll in regions outside Asia in September 2025. Season one is already on the service. The Reze Arc film will debut in Japan on September 19, 2025, and it will appear in US theaters in English on October 29, 2025.

Prime 1 Studio started taking pre-orders for its Persona 5 figure of Arsene, Joker's Persona, but we won't see it for quite a while. The earliest shipping expectation worldwide is December 2026. However, it might not appear until March 2027. It will be 212,190円/$1,299.
The Arsene figure is 1/4th scale and stands at over three feet tall (96cm). It is a static one with translucent blue parts to highlight various features. The stand also includes blue coils of energy that help support its wings. There is an LED effect, which will allow the face of Joker's Persona to glow. As this is a Bonus Version of the figure, it will also come with a Phantom Thieves "Take Your Heart" sign.

Capcom announced "The Melodic Monarch," the Monster Hunter Wilds Fender guitar crossover Event Quest is now live in-game. It is available until September 23, 2025. If you hunt a Rathalos, you get a gesture that also references that monster.
While you will need to basically get through Monster Hunter Wilds, so you can reach HR 16 and unlock Wounded Hollow, it isn't too demanding unlocking "The Melodic Monarch." It also isn't terribly difficult, as it is only a five-star difficulty Event Quest. Your goal is to fight one Rathalos and defeat it. After winning, you get the Fender guitar gesture for your Hunter to use. It's specifically referred to as the Monster Hunter Rathalos Telecaster. You can only get that gesture once, though you can replay the Event Quest after defeating it.
We know another crossover headed to Monster Hunter Wilds in the future too. Final Fantasy XIVwill come to the game in September 2025. Then in October 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds will head to Square Enix's MMORPG. That event will involve crossover monsters and characters, such as a Chocobo replacing the Seikret.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and "The Melodic Monarch" Fender guitar gesture Event Quest will run until September 23, 2025.

Two more indie games ended up delayed as a result of Hollow Knight: Silksong, as Devolver Digital pushed back Baby Steps and Sunny Side Up rescheduled Little Witch in the Woods. The Baby Steps PS5 and PC release date is now September 23, 2025, rather than September 8, 2025. Meanwhile, Little Witch in the Woods will leave PC early access on September 15, 2025, rather than 1.0 showing up on September 4, 2025. September 4, 2025 is the debut date for the Team Cherry title.
In the case of Baby Steps, there's a trailer pointing out how Hollow Knight: Silksong got in the way of protagonist Nate as he went on a walk into his future and resulted in the game delay. We literally see Hornet in the world and the character walking on her Stinger weapon. He falls, and the game is then delayed as a result.
With Sunny Side Up, the team shared an image and announcement on Steam. It noted that after learning about its game sharing its 1.0 launch date with Hollow Knight: Silksong, it decided to delay so as to not disappoint everyone due to being overlooked. It specifically noted, "Silksong is a game we look up to with awe as developers, and eagerly anticipate as players. Given its immense influence, we fear that launching Little Witch in the Woods on the same day would not only dishearten our dedicated team, but also disappoint our devoted audience.
Here's the list of other games that are now delayed and launching later in September 2025, or even later than that, due to the surprise Hollow Knight: Silksong release date. Many of the developers explained it was due to not wanting to compete in the indie space with it.
Aeterna Lucis is also delayed from September 2025 to 2026, but Hollow Knight: Silksong is only part of the reason that title ended up delayed.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC, and the release date is September 4, 2025.

A new Call of Duty game is on the horizon yet again, and it's another direct sequel to the previous title.
Black Ops 7 will launch on Nov. 14, 2025, and Black Ops 6 players are eager to know what kind of content will be moving to the new game as party of the Carry Forward system that Call of Duty has been using of late.
Here's everything there is to know about BO7 Carry Forward.
Black Ops 7 Carry Forward
![]()
What is Carry Forward in BO7?
Traditionally, CoD games have all been independent from each other. But in recent years, the Carry Forward program allowed certain content to transfer between titles, such as Modern Warfare II operators and unlocks being playable in Modern Warfare III in 2022 and 2023, respectively. They have also been usable in Warzone, as well.
Black Ops 6 to Black Ops 7 will have a similar Carry Forward program, but with some specific restrictions.
What BO6 content transfers to BO7?
![]()
The only content that will transfer to BO7 from BO6 via Carry Forward is Double XP tokens and GobbleGums. The rest of the content from BO6 will stay available in BO6 and Warzone, but not be available in BO7.
This means that any operators, operator skins, or weapons bought or unlocked in BO6 will not transfer to BO7. Activision said that this is because BO7 "needs to feel authentic to Call of Duty and its setting" in a community announcement on Aug. 26, 2025.
"We know there's been a lot of conversation recently about the identity of Call of Duty," Activision said. "Some of you have said we've drifted from what made Call of Duty unique in the first place: immersive, intense, visceral and in many ways grounded. That feedback hits home, and we take it seriously. We hear you."
This means collab skins like Beavis & Butthead, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Squid Game will remain in BO6 and Warzone but not be available in BO7.

The release of EA FC 26 is still a few weeks away, but the first set of player rating leaks has started to pop up on social media.
With the end of the closed beta, EA Sports is expected to start revealing official player and club stats. However, a few leaks seem to be doing that job for now. While I am highly skeptical about how "authentic" these ratings are, I won't rule them out either.
Having played the beta and watched others play, some of the leaked ratings are different. While they can always be personal predictions, you should take the rumors with a grain of salt (until EA Sports officially reveals the numbers for this year).
All EA FC 26 player ratings leaks
Last year, the leaks for EA FC 25 player ratings began right after the closed beta had ended. The trend appears to be the same, but the leaks are almost exclusive to the Premier League (either for current players or for names who have left in the ongoing summer transfer window).
It will be interesting to find out more about the ratings and how the player numbers look in the lead-up to the launch. We also have new Icons and Heroes appearing in this year's games, including debutants like Toni Kroos, Andres Iniesta, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and more.
Once again, these numbers and overall ratings will remain speculation and rumor until we get confirmation from the developers. However, leaks are always fun and give us, at the very least, a glimpse of just how our favorite teams are shaping up in the new title.

I was just an innocent child when my dad got me a bunch of PlayStation 1 games that included Pokémon. While I could've guessed it was a bootleg game as soon as I saw it, I knew back in the early 2000s there were Pokémon games for home consoles, despite having only played portable titles like Pokémon Red and Crystal. Maybe it was a real game like Pokémon Stadium? But it wasn't.
I remember that the PS1 disc stayed in my console just long enough to leave an eternal mark in my memory, that of a trash whack-a-mole Pokémon game so cursed its developers should be in jail not for copyright infringement, but for creative crime. I played it for such a short time that until today, over 20 years later, I was sure it was just a fever dream and that I had never played this monstrosity. Until I finally found Pokémon Crazy Hit 2.
The game's video footage is exactly as I recall when I played it: no music, no catching or combat, and no fun. Pokémon pop out of holes in the ground just like in Whack-a-Mole, and you have to throw your Pokéball and hit them on the head to score points and move on to the next stage. And this simple mechanic reveals all the layers of chaos and absurdity that only a bootleg game can have.
All Pokémon are terribly drawn. The Pikachu that pops up on the title screen has a belly only a 70-year-old man with a 12-pack-a-day habit for 50 years could match. Eevee's eyes clearly show it had too much Red Bull. And if you think Mega Dragonite sucks, oh boy... Wait until you see its faceless version in Crazy Hit.
The bizarre non-Pokémon in the loading and continue screens are something else. One looks like Pikachu wearing a motorcycle helmet, a variant worth of Pokémon GO; but the stick man from the continue screen, broken in half and with a sad cloud face, is just a random abomination.
The developers didn't even try to make the whack-a-mole gameplay more convincing or in line with the original Pokémon. There is no capture animation when the Pokéball hits a Pokémon, and these poor creatures just make a sad face when hit, then retreat to their holes. Maybe all these Pokémon are already owned by other trainers, and that's why you can't catch them? We'll never know.
The worst part is that the game is unforgiving, according to the BootlegGames Wiki. The difficulty is so high that beating the first stage should be impossible with a DualShock, which is probably one of the many reasons I dropped the game as a kid. I didn't have the peripheral that was supposed to come with it, so I never had a chance to see the later stages. The creator of the only video I found on Pokémon Crazy Hit 2 didn't have much luck either.
Imagine how many copyright infringement lawsuits Nintendo would send these devs today. Nintendo has already proven that no creator is too small to get served, with some of their lawsuits including fan creators of Mario games and of over 500 other small games.
All in all, this bootleg Pokémon game makes Palword and TemTem look like completely original ideas. The funniest part is that Crazy Hit 2 implies Crazy Hit 1 exists, and I don't plan to ever play it.

Caliban Prime has finally arrived in Warframe, and fans of the Sentient Sovereign have even more to celebrate after his first Deluxe skin and a minor rework.
As usual, Caliban Prime comes with a shiny new look, boasting slightly improved stats and more polarities compared to his default version. The summoner works as a potentially great controller and support, boosting allies' shields and with a great area-of-effect armor strip and debuffs—and that's without touching on the potential for Helminth abilities.
Here are all Caliban Prime Relics and our favorite locations to get them in Warframe.

Activision announced today that operators, operator skins, and weapons from BO6 will not be part of the "Carry Forward" program into Black Ops 7 because the new game "needs to feel authentic to Call of Duty and its setting."
![]()
"We know there's been a lot of conversation recently about the identity of Call of Duty," Activision said today. "Some of you have said we've drifted from what made Call of Duty unique in the first place: immersive, intense, visceral and in many ways grounded. That feedback hits home, and we take it seriously. We hear you."
Does this mean BO7 won't have its own silly skins? Possibly, but it appears that something has changed at Activision over the past few months to make them think twice about its collaborations over the last few years, that has included everything from cartoon characters to Nicki Minaj.
"In Black Ops 7, bundles and items will be crafted to fit the Black Ops identity," BO7 maker Treyarch said in a new community update. "We hear the feedback. We need to deliver a better balance toward the immersive, core Call of Duty experience. A ton of feedback has already gone into Black Ops 7, and in the coming weeks you'll hear much more directly from Treyarch."
As for Warzone, the BO6 content is there to stay. But this news about BO7 should sate a growing number of the community that has become testy with the direction of CoD in the past few games. Thus far, the reaction to the news has been generally quite positive on social media.
One can only wonder if potential competition from Battlefield 6, along with potentially lower-than-expected pre-order sales, could have had an effect on this announcement today. Regardless, we'll know more about BO7 soon with a Zombies update in September and then Call of Duty Next taking place on Sept. 30.

Season 3 Act 1 is live in League of Legends, introducing a new battle pass for all to grind.
While the battle pass retains much of its original structure, Riot Games has introduced a few key changes. The total unlock levels are fewer than we had in the past, but there are a few repeatable objectives. These objectives will allow you to farm for extra rewards if you complete the pass before the season expires.
Complete list of League of Legends Season 3 Act 1 battle pass rewards
The new seasonal battle pass is highlighted by the Arcana Lulu and Arcana Jhin skins you get after hitting the required milestones. However, you can get plenty of resources that will be highly valuable when playing the game.
Once you're done with the first 48 levels of rewards, you can then get more rewards from the repeatable missions to activate the following milestones.

League of Legends Patch 25.17 officially marks the start of Season 3, and there's plenty for the community to explore.
Season 3's greatest highlight is Xin Zhao, along with a fresh battle pass with plenty of rewards. There are plenty of buffs and nerfs, along with the return of the regular Summoner's Rift map. With new builds for your favorite characters and plenty to master, let's look at all the key changes.

Complete League of Legends 25.17 Patch notes
The new patch officially commences Season 3, and the Act 1 battle pass lets you grind for plenty of valuable rewards. There are 48 levels of rewards to unlock, but you can get more items by completing Repeating Missions once you're done with the main path. While the pass will allow you to get plenty of resources, this major patch has more key changes.
Season 3 Ranked
The patch officially starts Season 3 Ranked, available on Aug. 27 (server reset time). While ranked LP progression will be retained, you'll have to grind through the new Victorious Mission to get fresh skin.
Xin Zhao
Xin Zhao has a new model, fresh animations, ability icons, and more. In short, he has been given a new coat of paint while the abilities and role remain the same. However, once the update is live, his Commando and Imperial skins will cost more RP.

You'll also get to enjoy an updated lore as you go through his development through the different seasons. The events of the third season, just like those of its two predecessors, are all directly connected to the developments of Arcane (for those who enjoyed the Netflix series).
Doom Bots and Trials of Doom
The new patch also marks the return of the Doom Bots mode with certain changes. This PvE gamemode will allow you to take on Veigar and his army. Survive the bots for 15 minutes, and then take on Veigar while protecting your nexus.
While the core gameplay remains the same, there are new bots, curses, and a difficulty level. This version of Domm Bots will also have something called Trials of Doom. Here, you'll get to enjoy specific challenges required to defeat Veigar. You'll find different challenges based on the first three patches before they are all reactivated.
The first trial is Veigar's Evil, where all the boots receive Veigar's passive: Phenomenal Evil. The enemies will gain Adaptive Force whenever they hit you with a spell, and Veigar's spells will remain active for the entire time. In short, prepare your dodging spells if you and your allies want to survive the 15 minutes.
League of Legends Patch 25.17 improvements
Riot continues to make new improvements to the gameplay for the community to enjoy, and here are some major ones in the latest patch.
Plenty of updates are being made to the champions in the latest patch, and we will update them soon in this guide.

The Shadow+ evolution is a really interesting endgame upgrade option you can use in EA FC 25 Ultimate Team to improve one of your lower-rated items.
The evolution, available for free, allows you to improve your chosen card to an overall rating of 98. Your selected card will also gain stat upgrades, boosts, and roles/playstyles. With so many great options to pick from, it can be tough to pinpoint a single card.

I really want to play Persona 5 Royal (P5R) because everyone says it's a masterpiece. The game is famous for blending turn-based combat with a life simulation side to create a comprehensive experience and connection with the game's characters.
The only 100-hour-long detail keeping me from buying the game is its story, since I'm not used to playing linear games with a campaign longer than 30 hours. That's why I need your help, Destructoid. How am I supposed to play such a long game?
I have the time to put in a few hours of gaming every day. I have over 1,000 hours in Slay the Spire, which proves that I had the time to finish 10 campaigns of P5R. I'm not resisting playing Persona because I could, instead, finish at least five other games in that same amount of time.
The narrative nature of P5R makes me believe I can't drop it for months and return with no issues, like I occasionally do with Slay the Spire and Overwatch. Hell, I have no idea where I am in Hollow Knight as I return to it after 20 hours of gameplay, preparing for Silksong. Imagine how much worse it would be if I dropped P5R after 50 hours. And that's not even mentioning that P5R has good and bad endings, which also means I could play it for 100 hours and not get what are considered the best final scenes.
I still can't help but imagine how it feels to finish such a long game, which is why I insist on trying P5R, even though I'm worried I'll take a break and never be able to return. I've even considered keeping a journal of my gameplay.
And so I turn to you, Destructoid. If you've finished Persona 5 Royal or another super-long game as an adult, how did you do it, and what tricks did you use to keep track of the story? If you didn't finish it, I'd love to learn more about why you failed so I don't make the same mistakes.

Hey there, gamer. Grab a seat and listen. Do you remember the "BarbenHeimer" craze?
That fateful day in July of 2023 when movie screens everywhere were graced with Barbie and Oppenheimer at the same time? It was a fun time to be a movie fan. Well, I think that gaming has its own version today, and it may be even more impactful. Gamers, I give you, GearsDivers.

I decree that today, Aug. 26, 2025, should officially mark the end of the console fanboy wars. Gears of War: Reloaded, the remaster of the original Xbox franchise-starter has made its way to PS5 today. Likewise, Helldivers II, the PlayStation-published co-op shooter, is now available on Xbox. What a time to be alive!
Put down your weapons, fanboys. The fight is over. Multiplatform gaming is the future, and GearsDivers Day should be the final nail in that coffin. Stop your platform supremacy. Play what you want, where you want, when you want, and with who you want, thanks to crossplay.
Someone needs to tell the gamers in the replies to PlayStation's post about Gears today that the war is over. Store away your Retro Lancer, and retire your Warbond. It's time to play these very different but also similar third-person shooters about fighting alien/bug things on platforms that you used to never be able to.
Gears of War on PlayStation is especially wild, to me. I remember getting an Xbox 360 way back in the day to play games like Gears of War, Halo 3, and Left 4 Dead. Platform exclusivity used to create a reason to own different consoles, but it also bred a lot of unnecessary negativity when it came to the competition.
Microsoft and Sony both seem to be waving their white flags. This doesn't mean every single exclusive will end up on either platform, but at the same time, Halo on PS5 seems like a very real possibility. I doubt we'll see Astro Bot or The Last of Us on Xbox any time soon, but at this point, it feels like anything is possible. And that's pretty awesome.

Console gamers, it's time to say goodbye to your tribalism and instead enjoy the games with everybody, regardless of what you own. And if you still feel the need to exude negativity, there's always voice chat for that. Celebrate GearsDivers Day your way.
Everyone knows that PC is the best platform, anyway.
