Have you brought batteries for your torch? Good. Elden Ring Nightreign's Deep of the Night update's primed to arrive in the wee hours of tomorrow, September 11th, and there's a pretty hefty balancing patch to dissect before it arrives.

I've cracked the notes open already and I'll be honest, I'm a bit surprised. Well, maybe concerned is the best way to put it. You see, the word increased is used an awful lot in relation to stuff you can do hurt an enemy. That seems fishy. Just what have you got planned to make lives miserable again once Deep of the Night drops at 2:30AM BST, FromSoft?

I regularly go against my best consumer instincts and check out the yearly iterations of sports games. It's not something I'd likely be doing without some Steam press account magic letting me dodge the yearly cash sacrifice for a game that usually shares a huge chunk of DNA with its direct predecessor; a sense of deja vu is inevitable, unless you've been sensible enough to either let a few years pass or wait until you've spotted a new feature that piques your interest.

With NBA 2K26, there was one such addition in my mind. As someone who's been keen to see 2K's ball-to-basket series get rid of the invisible wall it'd put up between its simulations of men's and women's basketball for a good few years, the first-time addition of WNBA players to one of the marquee male-dominted modes caught my attention. Granted, it was MyTeam, the depressing pit in which you fork over either real money or fake money - acquired across hours of grinding - to buy trading cards that may or may not be dished out via something resembling a slot machine.

Do you not know gun fu? Briefly and baldly, it's the cinematic practice of making a gunfight look like something out of a martial arts film, with participants using firearms in ways that are borderline unbelievable - punting themselves backward along the floor with the recoil from two pistols, like Chow Yun Fat in The Killer, or slide-walking down a bannister while firing, like Chow Yun Fat in Hardboiled.

Two days before launch, Borderlands 4 has its PC system requirements. They're generally on the higher side without teetering over into full-on tech demo lunacy – the RTX 2070 is a minimum-spec graphics card, for instance – though anyone with a smaller SSD will need to make room for the looty FPS sequel's bumper-size 100GB storage requirement.

Microsoft have announced plans to roll out a policy which will mandate that staff return to working from the office at least three days per week, with a first phase of it set to come into force as of February 2026.

In a memo about the move shared by The Verge, Microsoft executive vice president and chief people officer Amy Coleman asserted that it's "not about reducing headcount". The mandate comes just a couple of months after the company's mass layoffs which saw about 9,000 employees let go and several games cancelled. The bloodletting hasn't stopped since that point either, with The Seattle Times reporting this week that Microsoft have laid off a further 42 employees, bringing the total to 15,000 since May.

In my experience, there are two kinds of tank in Battlefield games. There are the ones driven by other people, which are cut from solid granite yet move like ballet dancers. And then there are the ones driven by me, which are made out of candy floss and handle like shopping trolleys. Possibly, this reflects some kind of underlying "skill issue", but come now, that's speculative reporting that flies in the face of logic. Clearly it's a balancing issue. Here's Battlefield 6 lead producer David Sirland with a little more, based on learnings during the new shooter's multiplayer beta.

FFXIV Players Get FFXI Basic Service Fee Echoes of Vana'diel Discount

Square Enix announced a promotion tied to its Final Fantasy MMORPG entries, which gives FFXIV players a chance to pay less for the monthly Basic Service Fee to play FFXI with Echoes of Vana'diel Discount. This applies to people who do and don't already own copies of the older of the two games. The offer is live now, but only runs until September 25, 2025.

To take part in the FFXI Echoes of Vana'diel Discount event that reduces the price of the Basic Service Fee for the game, a FFXIV must be currently subscribed to that game and active. If someone just got the newer of the two games and is on a free subscription, they need to have a paid FFXIV one waiting in the wings. Someone with an inactive account needs to resubscribe. Also, if a FFXIV player doesn't have a FFXI service account, they will need to buy a copy of that game to take part.

If someone does meet the requirements, a FFXIV player can get 30 days of the FFXI Basic Service Fee for $5.95 instead of $11.95. This means that their total cost for what is essentially a one month period could be as low as $6.95. This is because Square Enix also charges FFXI players $1 per character for month. Since this promotion lasts two weeks, it means the Basic Service Fee you pay could end up covering and not expire until October 31, 2025.

This is running alongside another FFXI promotion. A Discount Campaign for the game and its Seekers of Adoulin expansion is live until September 25, 2025. FFXI Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition is temporarily $9.99 now. The expansion alone is $4.99. Also, World Transfer Service is $9 at the moment, which is half-off the normal price.

Final Fantasy XI is available for the PC, and the Echoes of Vana'diel Discount is live for FFXIV players heading to FFXI until September 25, 2025. FFXIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Mobile Suit Gundam Hatsune Miku Color Capsule Action Gashapon figures

Bandai has revealed new Gundam - Hatsune Miku crossover merchandise that will be part of its Gashapon line. The Mobile Suit Gundam Capsule Action ~Hatsune Miku Color Ver.~ collection will be available via Gashapon vending machines and standalone box purchases in September 2025.

The lineup will consist of four units. The RX-78-2 Gundam and the Char Custom MS-06S Zaku II will both appear with Miku's color scheme. The other two will feature the same units but with single-colored clear parts.

The company will release the items first via Gashapon machines in the third week of September 2025. A single random pull from the machine will cost ¥1,500 (~$10.15). However, the same items will also be available via standalone purchases in the fourth week of September 2025, although they will cost more at ¥1,650 (~$11.15) apiece. The package boxes indicate that Bandai will sell them not only in Japan but also in other countries and territories like Hong Kong, Thailand, and the US.

These would not be the only Gashapon-related Miku-Gundam merchandise to come stateside. In July 2025, Bandai brought rubber mascot keychains featuring Hatsune Miku with crossover outfits themed after numerous Gundams to North America.

The Mobile Suit Gundam Capsule Action ~Hatsune Miku Color Ver.~ kits will be available in the latter half of September 2025.

Yes, Mega Malamar Is Real and in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

The first week of September 2025, Nintendo teased a potential Mega Malamar reveal for Pokemon Legends: Z-A. It also meant merchandise appearing in Japan and such. Now, it's confirmed the "Malamar.mp4" teaser was hinting at the reveal of the character's Mega Evolution. That also means a website update sharing additional details.

The new trailer going over Mega Malamar in Pokemon Legends: Z-A is a more traditional one that involves gameplay footage. We see a trainer running with Malamar. Then, they encounter an opposing trainer. The creature then Mega Evolves to defeat and take on its opponents, using its psychic abilities to influence them somehow. In-game, it remains a Dark and Psychic dual type. The website also said that it uses hypnosis even more effectively and considers everyone its "pawns."

This is that new trailer:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D636YT7TbFg

Here is a full gallery of all the new Mega Malamar images highlighting the Pokemon Legends: Z-A character.

This Mega Evolution joins three other new ones. Those are Mega Dragonite, Mega Victreebel, and Mega Hawlucha. So far Malamar is the second to get this kind of teaser campaign. Victreebel's involved a "found footage" sort of situation.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A will come to the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on October 16, 2025.

Nintendo Holding Direct This Week Ahead of TGS 2025

Nintendo announced it will hold a first-party Direct ahead of the 2025 Tokyo Game Show, with the stream going over Switch and Switch 2 games on September 12, 2025. It will start at 6am PT/9am ET/3pm CET. It will be streamed on the Nintendo Today app, Twitch, and YouTube. We still don't know about the actual Nintendo TGS 2025 booth plans, however.

This stream running ahead of TGS 2025 is going to be a longer Nintendo Direct than usual, which could suggest we'll see more Switch and Switch 2 games. Typically, these run for between 20-40 minutes. This one will last for 60 minutes.

We've seen a handful of presentations lately, with two showcases happening in the last 90 days. At the end of July 2025, there was a Partner Showcase. That involved third-party games. At the beginning of August, there was the Indie World Showcase. Both of those were shorter than this and covered games for both consoles. A release date for Kirby Air Riders also came up in the dedicated Direct last month.

The next Nintendo Direct will be held at 6am PT/9am ET/3pm CET on September 12, 2025, and TGS 2025 will run between September 25-28, 2025.

Review: Pastel Parade Wants to Be a Cutesy Rhythm Heaven

Nintendo's Rhythm Heaven series involves a collection of masterpiece games that perfectly blend Tsunku compositions with tons of memorable minigames that typically only require a single button to play. Pastel Parade Project is very obviously trying to mimic that with its short adventure Pastel Parade, which involves a handful of stages with a few colorful minigames that involve minimal inputs in time with brief tracks. The problem is that the game is so uneven and limited that even if you're looking for absolutely anything to fill the space between now and Rhythm Heaven Groove in 2026, you'll be disappointed.

Rather than acting like Rhythm Heaven games and offering a list of minigames to go through, Pastel Parade plops its handful of stages into a loosely told adventure about a high school band. Nagisa is reading a book about a local mystery when a new exchange student named Amane interrupts her. Amane convinces her to go to a cafe with her, which leads to her meeting classmates named Kohaku and Morn when subbing in for volleyball practice. The quartet soon decides to form a band, and that leads to them eventually traveling to different places and exploring various mysteries.

It makes very little sense. But since the goal is to find an excuse to go to a handful of different maps to play through a few types of stages, I get it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brf2gn55shU

The issue with Pastel Parade is while the art direction, design, and sometimes even controls can feel like a Rhythm Heaven game, the actual execution just does not hold up for some of these minigames. Given how many of them repeat throughout the handful of worlds and the fact it will probably only take someone under two hours to beat it the first time, maybe less, it makes those failings stand out. When it keeps it extremely simple, it is at its best, but even then timing issues can muck things up.

For example, the fishing, fizzy water spraying, and submarine pedaling are all generally solid. This is because each one features clear visuals that work alongside the audio cute patterns for their games, while typically avoiding the trap of involving so many inputs that the background song becomes indiscernible due to sound effects from prompts. There can be a call and return type of pattern or following the leader situations along the lines of Rhythm Heaven games staples like Double Date, Flipper-Flop, or Monkey Watch. Of course, the Pastel Parade minigames aren't as memorable and don't sound as good as any of those examples. But the spirit seems similar, which helps.

But then there are Pastel Parade stages where the input timings are so awkward, imprecise, convoluted, or even frantically paced that it all falls apart. While the volleyball one is good when it first appears, the return of it means inputs come so fast that you can't even hear the music properly for audio triggers. There is one involving playing hopscotch in the rain that is okay for the hopping parts, but falls apart when you need to hold the umbrella to keep a car from spraying water from a puddle on you. The actual band segment is the worst offender. It involves playing certain guitar riffs at a certain pace when various visual cues appear. The tutorial involves going through the multi-input "sun" rift, the multi-input "moon" one, the multi-input bridge, and then a fourth that can appear between the sun and moon segments. But when the song begins, the transition between periods moves so quickly that hearing the actual background track becomes impossible.

Another point is it would help if the actual original songs in Pastel Parade were really good, catchy, and memorable, but they aren't compared to tracks in Rhythm Heaven games. The music fades into the background, due to it being often overshadowed. Which is a shame! Sometimes it can sound cute and pleasant, and it definitely is designed to fit the identity. I just can't honestly remember any of them, meanwhile Rhythm Heaven Fever's Tambourine and Air Rally live rent-free in my head to this day.

Pastel Parade is such a hit-and-miss game. It's clear Pastel Parade Project wanted to make a game along the lines of Rhythm Heaven and the aesthetics are there, but there are so many moments and minigames that prove it just doesn't get some of the biggest takeaways. The repetition, execution of some challenges, and way the actual music doesn't seem to matter means that, while it looks cute, it never compares to Nintendo's series.

Hornet jumping over platforms in Hollow Knight Silksong

Getting the Craw Summons item in Hollow Knight Silksong is difficult, but finding it can be gratifying.

Like every other item inside the game, you'll have to complete specific tasks. Unfortunately, the Craw Summons spawns randomly, so the exact unlock condition will vary. Some with 100-percent completion haven't reportedly received the item, while others have been much luckier.

This guide will give you a proper idea of what to do, including steps, if you're among the unlucky.

How to obtain the Craw Summons in Hollow Knight Silksong?

To obtain the Craw Summons, you'll have to focus on the following journal entries related to Craw enemies.

  • Craw
  • Tallcraw
  • Squatcraw
  • Craw Juror

The last one is the hardest of the lot, as you'll need access to Act 3. To do so, you'll have to unlock the secret act in the first place. Not only does it take time, but you'll have to clear plenty of hard enemies along the way, including Grand Mother Silk.

Once done, rest at the bench in Bellhart. The Craw Summons item should spawn automatically after you rest there. If it doesn't, go to another area and quit the game. Once you reload, you'll spawn at the Bellhart bench and get the item. This is precisely what I did to obtain the item.

Some players reported they didn't need to complete Craw Juror and obtained the Craw Summons item by clearing the first three journal entries. This is also highly possible since the third act is supposed to be a secret portion of the game.

If you're lucky (unlike me), you should get the item by resting at the bench in Bellhart after clearing the first three entries. If not, complete all the steps I mentioned in the same way, and you should get the Craw Summons without problem.

How to use the Cray Summons in Hollow Knight Silksong?

Once you have received the item, go to the Greymoor biome.

  • Keep going right till you reach Craw Lake.
  • There will be a room for you to enter. Enter, and you'll find a door to the right side, at the bottom.
  • This is where you'll use the Craw Summons to unlock a new passage, where a new secret boss awaits.

The item's use is straightforward, but the bigger question is how long it might take you to obtain it.

Sabrina Carpenter riding a zipline in fortnite

Many weekly quests you'll come across in Fortnite will task you with finding and interacting with specific items around the island. One of the trickier versions of these missions asks you to use an Ascender and a Zipline in the same match.

All quests that ask you to complete a task within one round are fairly tough, as you only have a limited time to meet the requirements to get it done. If you're struggling to get this one done, here's how to use an Ascender and a Zipline in the same match in Fortnite.

Use an Ascender and a Zipline in the same match in Fortnite

Sabrina carpenter using an ascender in fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

To complete the use an Ascender and a Zipline in the same match, you must use both items within the same round. The vast majority of quests can be completed across as many matches as you like, but this one doesn't keep your progress when the round is over, so you need to find and use both before it ends.

Where to find an Ascender in Fortnite

Ascenders can be found on the side of most tall buildings around the island, but I've generally had the best luck finding them around OXR locations. Here are some of the best locations to visit for Ascenders.

  • Around the mountain at Shogun's Solitude.
  • In a basement under one of the buildings at Supernova Academy, close to where you can find and chat with the Hope and Jones NPCs.
  • All around the main building at OXR HQ.
  • Around the Canyon Crossing POI.
  • OXR Outposts around the island.
  • By the dam at Foxy Floodgate.
  • Underneath Shining Span.
  • Near the entrance to First Order Base.

Where to find a Zipline in Fortnite

Ziplines can commonly be found bridging gaps between locations around the island. There are many spots you can visit to find them, but some of the best ones to check are:

  • On the roofs around Canyon Crossing.
  • OXR Outposts across the map.
  • Near the edge of Shogun's Solitude.
  • Around OXR HQ.

Sabrina carpenter looking at OXR base tower in fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

I got both parts of this task done swiftly by tackling it at an OXR Outpost located up north, slightly west of Supernova Academy, east of Resistance Base, and north of The Hive. Most outposts should work well for this task, as they all generally have at least one tower that has an Ascender going up to it and a Zipline or two connecting the roofs around the area. OXR HQ is also a great spot to visit for this mission, as this base has plenty of Ascenders and Ziplines for you to use, too.

There's plenty more to get done around the island after finishing this quest. Next, you might work on tackling all Megazord community questsgaining shields using Slurp Geysers, exploring all Hammerhead Choppa locations, and calling in Precision Air Strikes.

Holding precision air strike in fortnite

Weekly missions are some of the most important quests to tackle in Fortnite, as they award lots of XP for fairly minimal effort. It's sometimes a bit tricky to figure out what needs to be done, though, as is the case with the call in Precision Air Strikes task.

You're not given much guidance for this one, so it might seem daunting to work through. Luckily, it's fairly easy to get done once you know what's being asked of you, so here's how to call in Precision Air Strikes in Fortnite Chapter Six, season four.

Call in Precision Air Strikes in Fortnite

A massive explosion raining down from the sky in Fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

To complete the call in Precision Air Strikes weekly quest, you need to fire a total of two Precision Air Strikes. Each Air Strike you get only has one charge, and vanishes from your inventory as soon as you use it, so you'll need to find a minimum of two Precision Air Strikes to get this quest done.

With a Precision Air Strike in your inventory, all you need to do is aim at your desired target location and consume the single charge this tool has to check off one piece of this quest. As soon as you do it a second time, this quest will be complete.

The first thing you need to do to get this mission done is find a Precision Air Strike, which is the trickiest part of this quest. It's one of the toughest assets to find, so it'll likely take you a few rounds to get it done. There are a couple of ways to acquire this item, but it's still quite difficult to obtain.

How to get Precision Air Strike in Fortnite

There are two different ways to get a Precision Air Strike, but both of them require you to first increase your OXR Rank. Start by focusing on this mission since you can only get it once you have a higher rank, generally Rank A. Once you reach this level, you can acquire a Precision Air Strike by:

  • Opening OXR Bunkers. Any bunker you venture into may have one in a case inside. It's not guaranteed, but it does seem to be fairly common in these special treasure troves.
  • Opening OXR Drop Pods. You won't find a Precision Air Strike in lower-level pods, but once you reach A Rank and above, all pods have a chance of dropping this item. You can technically open A Rank or higher pods being delivered to other players, too, even if you're not at the specified rank yet, so keep an eye out for them while you travel around.

Screenshot by Destructoid

Although both methods grant you a shot at finding the Precision Air Strike, I've had the best luck getting it from OXR Bunkers. They take a bit more work to unlock than simply opening OXR Drop Pods, but the loot is way better, making the extra effort worth it.

A close up reveals Mega Malamar's face

The Pokémon Company has finally revealed Mega Malamar for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, after a week-long marketing campaign that featured several videos of adoring Malamar fans. However, upon further inspection, it became clear that the videos held an unsettling truth: almost all of the Malamar fans seemed to be under some sort of hypnosis.

Well, now we know the truth, and yes, it was Malamar alongside a misguided trainer slowly mesmerising the denizens of Lumiose City. In a neat reveal trailer that continues the in-game lore, Pokémon showcased the events of the last week through a different lens, revealing Mega Malamar's role in the many different videos.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXMgbJfVSDw

This latest video fully showcases Mega Malamar, now sporting a slender design that both slims and elongates the creature. Meanwhile, it appears to be using its tentacles to cover its head, giving it a resemblance to a large brain.

Finally, the video shows Mega Malamar using its final two tentacles and glowing lights to slowly hypnotise the viewer. It's an interesting reveal that plays well with the established knowledge of the creature, and fans have been more than happy to play along with the Malamar-obsessed joke.

In the comments below the video, fans have noted the new design is "giving Megamind and I absolutely love it," alongside another comment, saying "My friend Mega Malamar looks fantastic! I can't believe I used to be a Teddiursa fan before! Now all I can think of is Mega Malamar!"

There are just a few short weeks left until Pokémon Legends Z-A releases on October 17th, and we fully expect a few more Mega Evolution reveals in the interim. But for the moment, this week of creepy videos and the eventual reveal feels perfectly at home as we creep towards spooky season.

A red image shows the words Nintendo Direct alongside the date 12/09/2025. There is a render of Mario in the bottom-right corner.

Nintendo has confirmed, via the Nintendo Today app, that it will broadcast a Nintendo Direct on September 12, 2025. It is expected to reveal news on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games, all set for release over the next few months.

Currently, there are no details available on the length of the broadcast or its particular focus, but the date actually lines up neatly with one significant anniversary: the leading man, Mario himself.

September 13th, 1985, marks the release of the original Mario Bros. title in Japan, and as such has been celebrated as the mustachioed plumber's birthday ever since. Notably, this year will be Mario's 40th anniversary, and Nintendo is rarely one to shy away from big celebrations for the plumber.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_UcjEq2Dgk

For Mario's 35th anniversary in 2020, Nintendo not only held a special Mario Direct but also released Super Mario 3D All-Stars, a compilation featuring several Mario games. It's certainly possible that a new compilation (perhaps of 2D platformers from the DS entries and above), or even a new 3D Mario, could be revealed. One very likely reveal is a trailer for the upcoming sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie from Illumination.

This is the first time that Nintendo has revealed something as big as a new Nintendo Direct on its smartphone app. Usually, these announcements are posted simultaneously everywhere, but Nintendo has been focusing on revealing new details and announcements daily on the app in recent months, potentially signaling a move away from social media as the team looks to grow its own platform, keeping everything in-house.

Elsewhere, there are several upcoming Switch 2 titles like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment that do not have set dates. These games will likely get official release dates, alongside some surprise game announcements.

Sabrina Carpenter swining a glowing purple hammer by a swarmer nest in fortnite

There are bugs just about everywhere you venture around the island in Fortnite. To help stop the invasion, you need to tackle important missions, such as destroying Swarmer Nests to thin out the swarm.

You might not be familiar with what Swarmer Nests are, making this key story quest a bit tricky to get done. It's an essential one to tackle if you want to progress through the main storyline, so here's how to destroy Swarmer Nests to thin out the swarm in Fortnite.

What are Swarmer Nests in Fortnite?

sabrina carpenter shooting a nest in fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

Swamer Nests are primarily tall, grey nests covered in glowing, purple oozing spots in Fortnite. They're sometimes a bit flatter, though, and look like small rocks sitting on the ground. Regardless of what shape they take, they're always easy to distinguish if you focus on searching for the glowing purple spots. Swamer Nests consistently spawn smaller, hostile bug enemies for you to defeat until you destroy them.

Where to find Swarmer Nests in Fortnite

You may find Swarmer Nests around any bug-infested location around the island, but they're most common at the three main bug POIs, where you can slay the Queen, which are The Hive, Ranger's Ruin, and Demon's Domain. If you don't want to venture to these popular spots, search for smaller Landmark spots that have bugs wandering around instead.

Destroy Swarmer Nests to thin out the swarm in Fortnite

To complete the destroy Swarmer Nests to thin out the swarm mission for the Egg-cellent Observations story quest series, you need to break three Swarmer Nests. This is the first task you must tackle in this series, so getting it done quickly is crucial for progression.

Swarmer Nests can be broken using just about any method you like. Swing at one with your Pickaxe, shoot at them with any type of gun, or call in a Precision Air Strike to cause some truly devastating damage. It doesn't matter how you break them, only that you do, so choose your preferred method of destruction and get going.

With this mission out of the way, you can move on to tackling other tricky feats around the island. Next, you might work on all Megazord community quests, gaining shields using Slurp Geysers, opening an OXR Bunker, or venturing to all Hammerhead Choppa locations.

Sabrina Carpenter shooting a bug in Fortnite

Tackling story quests is essential if you want to keep up with what's going on around the island in Fortnite. Some of the most important missions you need to complete are the Egg-cellent Observations story quests.

Most story quest series come with a few tricky missions that challenge you to tackle feats you likely haven't done before. This is one of them, so if you're struggling to get it done, here's how to complete all part two Egg-cellent Observations story quests in Fortnite.

All Egg-cellent Observations quests in Fortnite

Screenshot by Destructoid

There are six quests you need to get done for the Egg-cellent Observations story quest series. All of the missions you need to tackle to fully finish part two are as follows.

  • Destroy Swarmer Nests to thin out the swarm.
  • Break open Hive Stashes to find traces of the swarm energy signature.
  • Tune sensors near The Hive to find demonic energy sources.
  • Collect Tainted Eggs at The Hive.
  • Bring the Tainted Eggs to Hope.
  • Defeat a Bug Queen to confirm Hope's theory.

Destroy Swarmer Nests to thin out the swarm in Fortnite

Your first mission is to destroy three Swarmer Nests to help thin out the swarm. Swarmer Nests are commonly found around all bug-infested zones, including POIs like The Hive and Ranger's Ruin.

These nests are large grey obstructions covered in oozing purple glowing spots, making them fairly easy to locate from afar. Fire at them using any weapon you like until you break them. Repeat this process on two other Swarmer Nests to finish this task.

Break open Hive Stashes to find traces of the swarm energy signature in Fortnite

Next, you need to find and break open five Hive Stashes to find traces of the swarm energy signature. Hive Stashes are the large, orange, glowing loot sacks you can find around bug-infested zones.

Venture to any area that has bugs patrolling around, like The Hive, Ranger's Ruin, and Demon's Domain. Once you're at any of these spots, look for a bright orange glow to find the stashes you're seeking. Fire at one until it explodes, then repeat this process four more times.

Tune sensors near The Hive to find demonic energy sources in Fortnite

Your next mission is to head to The Hive to tune sensors to find demonic energy sources. The Hive is a main POI that can be found near the northwest end of the island. Once you're at this location, you need to tune three sensors, all of which are marked with a white diamond icon, to progress.

Collect Tainted Eggs at The Hive in Fortnite

Next, you need to collect two Tainted Eggs from around The Hive. You're already in the right area, so just look for the white diamond icons again to find and pick up these items.

Bring the Tainted Eggs to Hope in Fortnite

For your next task, you need to bring the Tainted Eggs to Hope. She's one of the many NPCs you can find hanging out around the island, and she sticks to one particular area, making her fairly easy to locate. You can find Hope in the basement at Supernova Academy.

Defeat a Bug Queen to confirm Hope's theory in Fortnite

The final step in this quest series is to take down a Bug Queen. To slay the Queen, start by heading to The Hive, Ranger's Ruin, or Demon's Domain, since she only pops up around these three key POIs. Once you're at any of these spots, work on eliminating bugs, nests, and stashes to deplete the health bar for the area.

Shooting at Queen bug in fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

After the first health bar has been drained, a second one will appear, telling you to "Slay the Queen!" Fire at her with everything you've got, and keep attacking her until you manage to drain her entire health bar. Once you do, you'll officially be done with the Egg-cellent Observations story quest series.

A yellow and black power ranger running together in fortnite

The Power Rangers work together as a team to help save the world, and you now need their assistance to help put a stop to the chaos plaguing the island in Fortnite. To rally these powerful allies to your cause, you need to complete all Megazord community quests.

Assembling a team isn't easy, so to get the Power Rangers on your side, you have to put in quite a bit of effort around the island. There are some tricky tasks you need to get done, so if you're stumped, here's how to complete all Megazord community quests in Fortnite.

All Megazord community quests in Fortnite

A massive explosion raining down from the sky in Fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

There are five quests you need to complete to help the community reach the goal in the special Megazord task series. All of these tasks are unique and focused on summoning Power Rangers to the island. The missions you need to get done are as follows.

  • Hit players or bugs with Precision Air Strike to help summon Blue Ranger.
  • Restore health or gain shields to help summon Yellow Ranger.
  • Collect Boons to help summon Black Ranger.
  • Damage opponents while in a Hammerhead Choppa to help summon Pink Ranger.
  • Eliminate Queens to help summon Red Ranger.

Hit players or bugs with Precision Air Strike to help summon Blue Ranger in Fortnite

Your first quest is to hit players or bugs with Precision Air Strike to help summon Blue Ranger. The first step is to find a Precision Air Strike you can use by looting around the island. You won't find this item while looting normal chests, and instead will need to head into an OXR Bunker or increase your OXR Rank to open some OXR Drop Pods.

The Precision Air Strike tool only has one charge, so make sure you line up your shot carefully before you take it. I recommend finding an area that has lots of bugs running around, like The Hive, and using it there since you can eliminate either players or bugs to progress this quest. It's generally easier to find a big group of bugs than it is players, but choose whichever target works best for you.

Restore health or gain shields to help summon Yellow Ranger in Fortnite

Next, you need to restore health or gain shields to help summon Yellow Ranger. Drink shield potions and use medical items like Med-Mist to increase your health and shields for this quest. You'll work on this one naturally while playing through regular matches, so it's best to focus elsewhere.

Collect Boons to help summon Black Ranger in Fortnite

Another mission you need to tackle for this series asks you to collect Boons to help summon Black Ranger. There are many different Boons you can collect, and plenty of ways to earn them, including:

Damage opponents while in a Hammerhead Choppa to help summon Pink Ranger in Fortnite

Poison Ivy standing on a Hammerhead Choppa in Fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

Your next quest is to damage opponents while in a Hammerhead Choppa to help summon Pink Ranger. First, you need to find this vehicle, so head to one of the Hammerhead Choppa locations to get started.

Once you're on this ship, look for enemies around the island. Since this quest specified opponents rather than just players, you can fight bugs, players, or any other hostile foes you come across to contribute progress in this mission. Switch to one of the passenger seats in the ship and fire away with your weapon of choice to deal damage against all opponents you come across.

Eliminate Queens to help summon Red Ranger in Fortnite

The final mission you need to work on for this quest series asks you to eliminate Queens to help summon Red Ranger. Start by venturing to The Hive, Ranger's Ruin, or Demon's Domain, since you can only slay the Queen when you're at one of these three locations.

At any of these spots, start taking down bugs and pods around the area to decrease the "Neutralize the threat!" health bar that appears. Once it's fully drained, it'll be replaced with one that says "Slay the Queen!" so you can fight her. Eliminate Queens regularly to contribute progress to this quest.

Complete community quests to form Megazord in Fortnite

To finish the complete community quests to form Megazord mission, the entire Fortnite community needs to work on summoning the Power Rangers by completing the previously mentioned tasks. This isn't a task you can get done on your own, so you have to wait for all players to work on this quest together. It'll likely take some time, perhaps a week or so, before the requirements are met to form Megazord.

The Architect in Hollow Knight Silksong

Hollow Knight Silksong has some brutal enemies to combat, and the Sawtooth Circlet will allow you to deal damage from a distance.

When it comes to tackling enemies, you'll be mostly relying on your skills and your Needle. Upgrading your Needle makes combatting the more challenging enemies easier, but you can use other options like the Sawtooth Circlet to unlock new ways to do damage.

Let's learn more about how it works and explore how to obtain it.

How does the Sawtooth Circlet work in Hollow Knight Silksong?

The Sawtooth Circlet is more of a weapon than a standard item. Here's the official in-game description of the item.

Flexible belt of serrated metal teeth, able to affixed to the hem of a cloak. Flaring the cloak will spin the blades, damaging surrounding enemies.

While the in-game description can be confusing, the Sawtooth Circlet lets you run blades that rush towards the enemies with your cloak. These blades, sharp in nature, will do damage when they rotate and strike the monsters. While they don't travel long distances, the blades prevent an onrushing enemy from closing in and landing blows.

The Sawtooth Circlet fits into your Blue tool slot, so keep that in mind. Let's find out how to acquire it.

How to get Sawtooth Circlet in Hollow Knight Silksong?

You'll need to unlock and reach the Underworks section of the map to obtain this tool. There are a couple of Benches in this area. You'll need to get the one in the region's northeast section. No worries; I have marked the location on the map. Go slightly right from the Bench, and you'll meet The Architect.

The Architect is a mysterious entity who crafts several items for you to use. The Sawtooth Circlet is also available on the list, and you can purchase it by paying 230 Rosaries and one unit of Craftmetal. After adding it to the inventory, the only remaining task is to equip it in the Blue Slot.

2xko roster

The Closed Beta for 2XKO is now available in multiple regions across the globe, and you can make it more interesting by joining the official Discord and following the Wiki.

While the former acts as the main community for the game, the latter will help you learn and master the basic and advanced mechanics. The Wiki has plenty of information based on the earlier alpha tests, most of which have been updated for the Closed Beta.

Let's learn more about them and why you shouldn't miss out.

How to join the official 2XKO Discord server?

Joining the official Discord is easy and free. On PC, you can either use your browser or the dedicated app. I will advise setting up the app first if you're on a phone. You'll have to log in to your account before clicking here. This is the invite to the official server.

Official 2XKO Discord
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once you join the server, you must go through a few essential steps. This will allow you to browse all the official server channels. For starters, there's a dedicated channel if you're yet to get a Closed Beta code. You can rely on someone generous on the internet to invite you to play the game.

There are also dedicated channels to find someone to play with, which is extremely useful given the 2v2 format of the fights. You can also find voice channels to communicate with your teammates. Finally, you can use the general channel for some simple chit-chat with the community. This is the best place to be if you want to become part of the 2XKO community and get better at the game.

How to use the official 2XKO Wiki?

Unlike Discord, you can't type or communicate on Wiki. It's a repository for everything related to the game. You can view the Wiki and all the relevant articles by clicking here.

On the left, you'll find dedicated navigation tools to help you find exactly what you want. There's detailed information about all the champions, including the fresh inclusion of Blitzcrank. You'll also find more details on the basic and advanced concepts of the game, like Fuse, Stages, and more. The Wiki is a must-use in my experience if you want to learn and improve at 2XKO.

One Piece Mythical like any Roblox RPG needs a database so that you can have constant access to all the features in the game which you can grind and explore. Especially for a One Piece Roblox game where there are tons of islands to discover for bosses, powers and weapons. Luckily, here are the One Piece Mythical Trello, Wiki and Discord just for that purpose.

Here's every community database link to access all the info you need for progressing in One Piece Mythical:

I recommend checking out the Wiki and Trello if you want a guide on everything there is in the game. With them both combined you'll have an extensive overview of beginner progression and mid-to-late game features like Fruit and Weapon info. They have info on:

  • Mechanic info on stats, affinities, the haki system and more
  • Devil Fruits and moves
  • Weapons and moves
  • NPCs and locations
  • Enemies and bosses
  • We also cooked up a OPM map with the help of the Discord Community

Speaking of Discord, it's a massive source of info too. Aside from the pinned messages from the Questions channel, you also have access to meta info. This includes stuff like upcoming updates, events, announcements, buffs and nerfs, etc. It helps to keep track of these things with Roblox RPG games since things change a lot.

You can also ask more specific questions than just looking at the Wiki or Trello. The community is highly active and very helpful. That's it for my One Piece Mythical Trello, Wiki and Discord guide. Stay tuned for more Roblox guides.

one piece mythical map guide and rayleigh locations

The One Piece Mythical map has over a dozen islands to grind through and explore. Like in any Roblox RPG a map goes a long way and I made one with the help of the Discord community so that you can have an overview of all locations for leveling and bosses. I'll also go through the Rayleigh Haki locations. Here's my One Piece Mythical map and location guide.

One Piece Mythical Map and Locations Guide

This One Piece Mythical map outlines all the important islands that you'll visit as you grind through the game. Note that it's based on the Alpha version of the game so keep in mind that locations may change in the future full release. Your spawn will be just below the Cave and Fountain island where you'll start leveling. Fun fact, you'll need 1,252,500 EXP to max out each stat.

Also, note that the locations of Rayleigh are also important for learning Haki and I'll cover them below. He'll give you a hint each time but I'll just point you to his locations on the map. Check Rayleigh's locations below for more details.

One Piece Mythical Rayleigh will appear around the various islands on the map every 50 minutes to teach you Haki via the Meditate emote which you have to use. He'll give you hints on where to find him which I'll list down below with his exact locations. Using the command !rayleigh in chat gives you a hint as to where he is. He stays in that location for 10 minutes before leaving. Check out the image above for Rayleigh locations on the map. Here are all of his hints with points on where to find him:

  • "You hear an echo" - Rayleigh will be at the back of the island in the snow cavern on Small Snow. It's the island with the Sniper Shop.
  • "You feel shade" - Rayleigh will be at the top of the spiral mountain on the island with the thick trees.
  • "You seek enlightenment" - Rayleigh is at the top of the dead tree on rocky mountain island.
  • "You feel cold" - Rayleigh will be in a crevice surrounded by trees at the larger snow island.
  • "You feel hidden" - Rayleigh will be behind the hidden wall in the secret cave on Gunner/Krizma Island. Just go straight from the entrance and you'll go through a wall.
  • "You feel evil" - Rayleigh will be in the back of the purple island in a hidden cave full of bushes.

Observation Haki Note: The Haki power will be in your Talents > Special menu. You must at least level 1000 to learn it.

That's it for this One Piece Mythical map guide and Rayleigh locations. Check out more of our Roblox guides for more One Piece Mythical content.

2xko roster

Before beginning this tier list, I really wanted to specify that it's more based on early observations and early data and will need to be heavily updated over time, so I wouldn't take what I am talking about here at face value and instead use it to start a discussion. Because let's be honest, making a tier list 24 hours after release based on a closed beta isn't going to be 100 percent accurate.

It's more about starting discussions, pooling data, and establishing a baseline to work from as the game receives more support over time. So, again, don't use this as a definitive list, as it will require significant changes over the first month alone.

Either way, let's dive into a 2XKO tier list, ranking the fighters individually, as well as discussing some of their best pairings in our official best-to-worst ranking.

For now, I don't plan to go into greater detail regarding the above picks and intend to update this article periodically, especially during the Closed Beta, as tournaments are played and new technologies are discovered. I wanted at least to provide a list of champions in some order, though, as well as some duo partner suggestions if you are looking to test these characters for yourself.

So for now, let me know in the comments where you have ranked each champion and why, as well as any duos you think I should test out when updating the list in the future!

mario baseball key art

Nintendo has announced a new partnership with the Seattle Mariners, which will see the two teams host a special Super Mario Day this Sunday during the Mariners' game against the Los Angeles Angels. If fans are lucky, they may even snag some exclusive merchandise.

The news was shared with us by Nintendo PR, teasing an exclusive custom Super Mario x Mariners Cap that will only be available for the first 15,000 fans to enter the venue. The image of the cap, featuring Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriquez, was also shared to Destructoid to tease what fans can expect to grab on the day.

It honestly came out of nowhere and is one of many things happening on Sunday at 1:10 pm local time. In addition to the hat, a charity auction will also be held in support of the Mariners Care Foundation. Other events will be available on the day, but for the hardcore Nintendo collector, it's hard not to be excited about the cap; it's also not the first time that Nintendo has struck partnerships with sports teams, let alone the Mariners.

Back in March, Nintendo of America announced it was expanding upon its already long-standing relationship with the club, becoming the team's first-ever official jersey sleeve partner. The Mariners feature the Nintendo racetrack logo on their home jerseys and a Nintendo Switch 2 logo on their away jerseys.

Nintendo has also sponsored other teams in the past, such as Italy's soccer club Fiorentina, with the Nintendo logo proudly emblazoned on the front of their kit. But enough about that. If you find yourself at the Seattle Mariners game this weekend and are able to snag a hat, please show it off to us in the comments. I'm curious how it looks myself.

And if you don't manage to get one, hopefully you can find a reseller at an affordable price that'll let you add something unique to your Nintendo collection.
