Today sees the release of Éalú, a point-and-click puzzler about a wooden mouse exploring a maze. It's a lovely-looking thing - a "true stop-motion game", as the Steam page puts it, with every frame of animation based on photography of physical props and sets. After watching the trailer, it's no huge surprise to learn that designer, animator and writer Ivan Fisher-Owen has a wider background in puppet-making and gadgetry. He and his partner Dr Emma Fisher-Owen run Beyond the Bark, an inclusive theatrical fabrication company based in Limerick, Ireland ("éalú" is an Irish word for "escape").

Backstage know-how aside, Éalú draws upon Ivan Fisher-Owen's misgivings about the brain-souring effects of being terminally online, with some interesting metaphors for everyday hellsite routines I will try my best not to baldly unpack. I listed Éalú in this week's Maw round-up, and Fisher-Owen got in touch with me afterward to share code and chat briefly about the project's guiding anxieties.

Customisable player houses are finally set to arrive in World of Warcraft via early access this December, though that early access will be limited to folks who've pre-purchased the MMO's upcoming Midnight expansion. There can never not be a bit of a catch with moving into new digs it seems, even if you're a virtual orc.

The forthcoming addition of home ownership to WOW was first announced by Blizzard all the way back in November last year at a Warcraft 30th anniversary direct, with the studio finally acting on player cries to inject their adventures with a bit more rearranging of clutter around a place in which you sleep. Let us be paralysed by the mundane terror of picking the right interior decor, they screamed. K, said Blizzard.

I have been sort of enjoying former Dragon Age executive producer Mark Darrah's reinvention as a Youtuber who trades insider BioWare anecdotes for merch. He's got an actual T-shirt line, including a T-shirt for babies upon which Mark threatens to "pump NFTs" unless you buy his gear. Respectable Crazy Uncle energy. Maybe don't invite him to your kid's baptism. But maybe do watch his new video about what might happen to EA's many development studios in the wake of the company's $55 billion acquisition by Donald Trump's son-in-law, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and the gilded suits of Silver Lake.

The tl;dr/tl;dw is that Darrah thinks EA's various sport game teams, like Madden and EA Sports FC, are probably fine under the new privately-owned EA. Those games bring home a lot of bacon, after all, and EA's new dads in Riyadh are keen on sports in general. He's less confident about the studios clustered under EA Entertainment, and especially those such as Darrah's old joint BioWare who might have more pronounced cultural objections to the new ownership, based on the kinds of stories they tell.

Fresh off of releasing the massive mod's first DLC earlier this week, the team behind Fallout: London have confirmed that they've still got no plans to port it to the next-gen update version of Fallout 4. There is, however, one factor that could lead them to reconsider doing so.

Since Team FOLON's take on a post-apocalytic English capital released last summer, playing it has required downgrading your copy of Fallout 4 to an older iteration released prior to April 2024's next-genning of Bethesda's RPG. With the next-gen update arriving out of the blue just ahead of Fallout: London's planned initial release, the modders opted to put it out on this older version for stability reasons, following a delay that allowed them to explore their options.

gnosia keychains

From the fourth week of October 2025, keychains based on the characters from the upcoming Gnosia anime will appear in Gashapon machines around Japan. It'll cost 300 JPY ($2.05) per attempt, and there are eight possible variations to collect.

The eight Gnosia characters you can get rubber keychains of via the Gashapon machines are:

  • Gina
  • Raqio
  • Setsu
  • Shigemichi
  • SQ
  • Stella
  • Yuri
  • Yuriko

There are still a few characters missing, such as Kukrushka and Remnan. It's likely that they will appear in a second round of rubber keychains later on.

Gnosia is a visual novel social deduction RPG that originally came out in 2019 for the PlayStation Vita. It later came out on more modern consoles like the Windows PC and the PS5. The anime adaptation by Domerica will come out later this month. Yuri is the main character of the anime, but in the game, you play as a customizable self-insert character whose avatar never appears on screen.

Plot-wise, Gnosia is similar to existing social deduction games like Mafia or Werewolf. Gnosia are monsters that can erase someone every night. While Gnosia remain, the spaceship can't land and let anyone off. So during the day, characters discuss who the Gnosia are and vote them out. During the night, the Gnosia choose who they want to kill. The catch of Gnosia is that the story also involves a time loop trapping Yuri and Setsu (along with everyone else) on the ship. Not only do they need to survive the Gnosia attacks, but they also need to figure out a way out of the time loop.

Gnosia is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC. The Gnosia anime will start airing in October 2025.

Lucrea figure of Hatsune Miku themed after 00 Gundam

Megahouse has published details for the release of the 00 Gundam-themed Hatsune Miku Lucrea figure. The company will release the figure in late September 2026 at 27,500 yen (~$186.85). [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]

This figure will generally feature Hatsune Miku in her regular attire, but the set will also include multiple elements from Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Miku will exclusively wear hair accessories inspired by the GN-0000 00 Gundam's Twin GN Drives. She will also sit on four televisions showing the emblems of Celestial Being and the world's three major factions: The Union, the Advanced European Union, and the Human Reform League. The figure's base will feature flowers as a reference to the show's ending credits.

The figure will be available not only on Premium Bandai but also on Volks, Yellow Submarine, and AmiAmi. The latter will particularly support worldwide shipping via its English website.

More sample images showing the figure from various angles are available right below:

This release will follow an earlier figure in the same crossover line, where Hatsune Miku wears an attire inspired by the Wing Gundam Zero from Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz. Megahouse will first release the latter in June 2026.

The Lucrea figure of Hatsune Miku themed after Mobile Suit Gundam 00 will be available in late September 2026. The pre-order window will open on October 3, 2025, at 1 PM JST (12 AM ET).

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Trailer Highlights Gameplay

Nintendo's latest Pokemon Legends: Z-A feels designed to help people understand all of the different kinds of gameplay elements in the newest entry and tease the Switch 2 updates. This means seeing major characters who we'll build bonds with and enemies we'll fight. At the end, it also offers a reminder that there are Switch and Switch 2 versions and a $9.99 upgrade pack available to access the Switch 2 improved FPS, resolution, and performance later.

The video starts by showing Lumiose City as a whole, highlighting that it is designed to be a place for humans and Pokemon to live together in harmony. This means that Wild Zones are in the city to mimic different types of biomes. However, things aren't as peaceful as expected. There are rogue Mega Evolved characters roaming around, and part of our mission involves finding out why as part of Team MZ and with the aid of hotel owner AZ. Along the way, we can also battle and capture Wild Zone Pokemon for fun and compete against other trainers, as well fight online in Link Battles.

As for seeing the difference between the two versions, that comes up at about the 5:45 mark of this new trailer. That focuses specifically on the Switch 2 release of the JRPG. It shows how performance differs.

Here's the full Pokemon Legends: Z-A trailer looking at Switch and Switch 2 gameplay.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL4jOPorLQM

As a reminder, there will be paid DLC for the game. Nintendo already confirmed Mega Dimensions for it.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A will come to the Switch and Switch 2 on October 16, 2-25.

Review: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Is an Essential JRPG

We've seen so many remakes in the last 10 years that fatigue definitely settled in. Especially since, in many cases, these mark returns of games that are still relatively easily to access on current platforms are are recent enough that it isn't necessary. The JRPG The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky first showed up in 2004 on PCs as a sprite-based game, only making a worldwide debut for the first time via its PSP port in 2011. With all of the ensuing rereleases on platforms like the PS3 and Vita, it only showed up again everywhere in 2014 on PCs. Simply put, 2025 ended up being the perfect time for a revival via Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, a remake that is so robust, well-executed, and heartfelt that it should be used as an example to other developers when it comes to determining if, when, and what should be done when renewing a game

When Estelle was 11, her renowned Bracer (mercenary) father came home with a young, mysterious boy the same age named Joshua. Why? How? He happened upon him on a mission. Now that both of them are grown, they're about to become Junior Bracers and follow in his footsteps. However, not long after graduating the exam and being welcomed into the organization and work toward a promotion by taking on missions and visiting guilds around the country, they get involved in assignments that hint at a greater mystery and an opportunity to help stop political upheaval.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhYGLR2WdSI

It's honestly the start of an incredible story, and one filled with lots of characters growing as individuals and showcasing their fantastic personalities. There's a perfect balance of genres here! Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter isn't just a coming of age story for Estelle and Joshua, a "friendship is magic" adventure as they join up with allies, or an overly heavy drama where political intrigue and subterfuge constantly bombards you with surprises and thrills. As for the localization, it feels more subdued in a good and realistic way. There is still a ton of personality infused in it and Estelle's attitude comes through. I would say the original English adaptation from XSEED sometimes felt punched up in a way to allow for more exaggerated comedic moments. Here, things still are compelling, captivating, poignant, and of course funny, but without relying on extremes. The Japanese voice acting is fantastic and there are some really great English performances here from folks like Johnny Yong Bosch (Joshua), Michelle Ruff (Schera), and Matthew Mercer (Olivier). The localization also features these fantastic notes in the in-game Bracer Notebook with descriptions and commentary in Estelle's voice, adding extra personality and fun to a feature that many might ignore.

Falcom also maintained the same ambiance and tone of the original Trails in the Sky with the 1st Chapter remake, and I'm so glad about that. What I always loved about this installment is how much sense it made in terms of pacing. At the outset, Estelle and Joshua are complete newcomers. Yes, they've been training for years and live with a renowned hero and famous Bracer. But so much about this is about their own development. Falcom took the time to establish not only both of them, but characters like Olivier and Kloe here. That remains unchanged. I guess this first installment in this trilogy almost reminded me of the Studio Ghibli approach to storytelling, which is that the creators aren't afraid of there sometimes being a slower moment in the name of showing who people are as characters or offering a little extra development for characters and their world. That's maintained here without feeling like the storytelling suffers. Are there some side quests that do feel a little rudimentary and like they aren't starting to build up relationships we'll also see reflected in the sequel? Of course. It's a reality in any JRPG like Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. But the ones that do appear don't detract from the experience.

But what really makes this Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter remake special is how Falcom handled the artistic direction and gameplay design depicted throughout the JRPG. It feels both entirely new and fresh while still in some ways identical and paying tribute to the original game. It is immediately, at a glance, a gorgeous game. I played the Switch 2 version, and it seemed to be hitting 60fps without too much of an issue. Loading times were minimal and only took a few seconds in most situations. I did notice performance seemed a bit better when docked, but it runs well in handheld mode.

As for the combat system, I adore the approach. The original Trails in the Sky relied upon a strategic type of turn-based, JRPG system not unlike other entries in this series, but Falcom offers both active and turn-based options in 1st Chapter. When in the field, it is possible to attack and swap characters and use different types of assaults to take down enemies with Quick Battles. However, it's also possible to use these initial hits to gain the initiative in turn-based fights called Command Battles. When shifting to that, you actually arrange positioning of characters on the field, determine AOE effects of possible Orbal Arts and Crafts skills. Both of these are satisfying in different ways, and I loved the opportunity to quickly shift from one to the other in encounters. The Command Battles feel especially well-suited for major fights against bosses. But when I'm just exploring an area, I loved using the Quick Battle option to swiftly smack down so I could keep looking for items or points of interest.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3gEriNRSFQ

The Tactical Orbments system also ensures the Command Battle system feels meaningful even when there's the Quick Battle option. We can create Quartz with collected Sepith to offer stat boosts and increase the range of Orbal Arts we can perform in a fight. While there are some limitations for character builds due to the nature of their Orbments and what can be placed in certain slots, it allows for some diversity and personalization that allows you to ensure each person could be useful even if you think you'd normally never work with someone like that. Also, due to the general pacing when it comes to Main and Sub Quests, it doesn't feel like it takes too long to unlock slots and create new Quartz so we can further diversify.

But most important is the way in which Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter builds things up, and how this JRPG remake feels like the cohesive first part of an expertly told two-part story. I love the Cold Steel games. Truly. But it's a little exhausting when some The Legend of Heroes entries end up being three or four game epics. The first two parts of this trilogy completely tell a fantastic story that pulls everything together perfectly, with the third acting as a supplement. This version still feels like it's doing a fantastic job of establishing a region, a world, and characters who we later know from games like Cold Steel and Daybreak.

I love Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, feel like it is one of the best Falcom JRPGs, and am certain it will be counted among the most ambitious remakes ever made. The combat systems are excellent. The recreation of the world is fantastic. The script and new localization is great. The story is an absolutely fantastic one filled with incredible moments and well-rounded characters who truly develop as individuals as time goes on. It is a wonderful story and perfect starting point for The Legend of heroes

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is available on the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and PC.

BO7 Zombies gameplay

For the first time ever, Zombies mode is playable in a Call of Duty beta.

The Black Ops 7 beta, running from Oct. 2 to 8, will have a taste of the Zombies Survival mode on a map called Vandorn Farm. This is unprecedented in the franchise, allowing Zombies players a chance to see what the mode will be like when the new game launches on Nov. 14.

But there's a catch. Zombies mode won't be available for the full length of the test. If you're looking for the Zombies mode in the BO7 beta, here's what you need to know.

Black Ops 7 beta Zombies release date

Zombies mode, including the Survival map Farm, will arrive in the BO7 beta on Oct. 3. The first day of the early access beta is for multiplayer only, but Zombies will launch on the second day of the beta, which is a Friday, meaning it will be a weekend full of slaying the undead.

Below you can see a countdown to when the Zombies mode should be available in the BO7 beta, at around 12pm CT on Oct. 3:

[hurrytimer id="1125210"]

To get early access for the BO7 beta, you either need a code via Twitch drops or to pre-order the game on your selected platform. Otherwise, the beta will become open to all players starting on Sunday, Oct. 5.

Since this is a beta, there will only be a small selection of what the full game offers. The first round-based map, Ashes of the Damned, will be available on launch day along with a full suite of weapons, perks, GobbleGums, and a whole lot more.

A large version of the Pikachu ex card from the Deluxe Pack ex booster set is visible

It's hard to believe, but we're coming around to a whole year of the mobile title Pokémon TCG Pocket, and to mark this milestone, the developers unleashed a brand new set called the Deluxe Pack ex.

Changing up the formula, every booster pack contains four cards instead of the usual five, but guarantees at least one card of the ex rarity or above. Then, there are also foil versions of existing cards, a smattering of new rare cards, and a new immersive.

In total, this set contains 379 cards. This is enormous, and compounded by the fact that this set is time-gated, only available until October 30th, 2025. It makes it really tough on collectors, and fans have rightly been voicing their concerns about completing this set and the themed missions before the end of the month. So, we're going over the odds of the cards in the Deluxe Pack ex set.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Deluxe Pack ex pack odds

Regular Pack Odds (99.950% of packs)

1st Card

  • 1 Diamond (Common) - 100%

2nd Card

  • 2 Diamond (Uncommon) - 82.270%
  • 1 Diamond (Common) - 17.730%

3rd Card

  • 3 Diamond (Rare) - 40.659%
  • 1 Diamond (Common) - 23.021%
  • 2 Diamond (Uncommon) - 17.985%
  • 1 Star (Illustration Rare) - 12.858%
  • 2 Star (Special Art) - 2.500%
  • 3 Star (Immersive Rare) - 1.111%
  • 2 Shiny (Double Shiny Rare) - 1.667%
  • Crown (Crown Rare) - 0.198%

4th Card

  • 4 Diamond (Double Rare) - 100%

Rare Pack Odds - (0.050% of packs)

Rates for all four cards

  • Crown (Crown Rare) - 3.846%
  • 2 Shiny (Double Shiny Rare) - 7.692%

  • 1 Star (Illustration Rare) - 23.076%
  • 2 Star (Special Art) - 61.538%

How many packs does it take to complete the Deluxe pack ex?

https://www.reddit.com/r/PTCGP/comments/1nu6ksj/collecting_every_card_in_the_deluxe_pack_ex/

This lengthy Reddit post by user Dastenis goes over how many cards there are in the set, the number of packs free-to-play players get a month, and the number of hourglasses they can earn in a month, and how this all comes together.

F2P players get two packs every day, and four hourglasses for completing daily tasks. As it takes 12 hourglasses to open a booster pack, this means an additional booster pack every three days. With 379 cards in the set, assuming you never pulled any duplicate cards, it would take 95 packs to complete the set.

Now, with only 30 days to open the Deluxe Pack ex set, the move to four cards in a pack instead of five, and with a maximum of 70 free packs within the timeframe, it's impossible to complete this set in time without spending money. If players opened 70 packs in the month and never pulled a single duplicate, they'd own 280 cards of the 379-card set.

https://twitter.com/PokemonTCGP/status/1973539413813535027

Finally, Pokémon TCG Pocket also clarified that while many of the cards in this set are visually identical to previous cards, they do not go towards the completion of previous sets, instead counting as a separate card in the newer set. So, fans hoping that completing this massive new set would also retroactively help previous sets are sadly mistaken.

On the left, Monke standing in front of an inactive Greed Shrine. On the right, an active Greed Shrine.

The Greed Shrines in Megabonk give you 25 gold and permanently increase the run's difficulty by five percent. While this may seem like a massive downside at first, since it's natural to think you want your runs to be easy to win, you have to increase your runs' difficulty if you want victory.

The difficulty boost from Greed Shrines means more enemies show up on the screen, all with higher health, speed and strength. Since more difficulty means more enemies to kill, and because killing mobs is the best way to get Gold and XP, this added challenge implies there's more XP and Gold available than usual in the form of monsters. Since one thing leads to another, the more difficulty you gain, the faster you can level up and the stronger you can get—if you don't die in the process.

It's not a coincidence that the description of the Cursed Tome, which increases Difficulty like Greed Shrines, reads "Only gamers pick this one." You need to be good at the game, know your builds, and plan what you'll do to take advantage of higher difficulties.

Monke next to an active Greed Shrine in the Forest.
An active Greed Shrine will stay active for the rest of the run. Screenshot by Destructoid

Best way to use Greed Shrines in Megabonk

Use Greed Shrines when you feel the game is too easy. If you're defeating enemies quickly and don't see enough of them popping up, look for the light red spots on the mini-map. This is a Greed Shrine location. Approach the skull mounted on a stake, activate it, and look for other of these shrines if the game still feels too easy.

On Tier 1 runs, this method of difficulty scaling should be good enough. If you want to win in Tiers 2 or 3, you will need to activate Greed Shrines aggressively to reach high levels quickly so you can take down the Stages 2 and 3 bosses.

Don't activate Greed Shrines too early into a run, especially with characters who have slow starts like Sir Chadwell. Grab some Weapons and Tomes first and work on increasing difficulty later, or the run will become too hard for you to handle. If you overdo and have too many active Greed Shrines at once, you can't reduce difficulty later, so it's better to restart your run and take it easier next time.

If you're using Sir Chadwell, you'll likely avoid Greed Shrines in the early game because his passive ability increases difficulty by one percent with each level he gains. Unless you want an extreme challenge, you can avoid these shrines if you're using Sir Chadwell.

Monke cage on the left, Monke in the character selection screen on the right.

The Golden Key is an item that spawns on the ground, at random, in any of the Forest stages in Megabonk. It only shows up if you haven't unlocked the character Monke, since the key is part of what you need to free it and make it playable.

This article is not about the item name Key that you get from chests. That item gives you a 10 percent chance to open future Chests for free, and it has nothing to do with unlocking Monke.

To find the Golden Key in the Forest to release the Monke, walk around the map, covering as much ground as possible, while paying attention to items on the floor. The key can show up anywhere, anytime, on any of the Forest stages, and there's a chance it won't appear at all. Unfortunately, the Golden Key has no mini-map icon. If you can't find it, start a new run.

Fox attacking near the Monke cage in Megabonk
The Monke cage to use the Golden Key on. Screenshot by Destructoid.

Once you see the Golden Key, approach it and interact with it to pick it up. Walking over it like you do with Powerups will not work. Then, look for a cage on the map and interact with it, and you will free Monke and gain the ability to purchase him with Silver in the Unlock screen after you complete your run. The cage will always spawn, as long as you haven't unlocked Monke yet.

I understand you're probably excited to test some of the best Monke builds in Megabonk and want to speed things up. But since there's no way to manipulate the Golden Key spawn or increase the odds of seeing it, the best method to get it is to naturally play the Forest map as you focus on other quests and progress through other unlocks. In my playthrough, I saw the Golden Key once in around five attempts.

You will eventually run into the Golden Key, and when you do, ignore everything else you were doing and rush to a cage to free Monke. If you feel comfortable playing in Forest tier 2, it's a good idea to do it to look for the Golden Key because this item also spawns on Stage 2, so you have higher chances of finding it on the same run.

A character surrounded by skeletons in Megabonk.

Megabonk has many challenging quests, but upgrading the Cursed Tome to level 20 in under 10 minutes is perhaps the hardest.

The quest rewards you with the Corrupted Sword, a formidable weapon. For starters, raising any tome to level 20 itself is a difficult task. To do so under 10 minutes is even harder, but it can be done by following the correct steps.

How to unlock the Corrupted Sword in Megabonk (Cursed Tome level 20 in 10 minutes)

There are specific prerequisites that you'll have to follow.

  • Unlock the Toggler from the shop. We will have to be extremely specific with the weapons and tomes.
  • I completed this on the Forest map at tier 1. However, you can use the Desert map instead (as some in the community have done). But the quest is definitely doable in the Forest.
  • We will be using the Turbo Challenge. This challenge reduces the cost of chests by 96%, but scales up enemy difficulty by 5x.
  • If you have unlocked extra weapon and tome slots, we will not be using them. We will use only two weapons and two quests for this quest.

Megachad in Megabonk
Screenshot by Destructoid

Let's now look at the actual build. According to some players, Tony McZoom is a good character. However, I completed this quest with Megachad. We will go with the following weapons and tomes for this quest.

  • Aura and Aegis. Aura is Megachad's primary, making it easier to level up (thanks to its passive).
  • XP and Cursed Tome.

This is why having the Toggler is essential, so you don't have any other weapon/tomes. We begin with our run, and our first focus is getting the Cursed Tome. The earlier we get it, the better it is. The priority is to get as many Cursed Tome and Aura upgrades as possible. XP tome should be upgraded only when you're not getting an upgrade for Aura and the Cursed Tome.

While Megachad is great for AFK playstyle, you'll want to move as much as possible. There are two major reasons. You'll want to pick up every XP shard on the map. You'll also want to target as many Shrines as possible. The best shrine buff will be XP for this quest, but be on the lookout for damage, movement, speed, and luck (not a popular choice, but I believe it makes a difference).

Here's a short rundown of what you have to do.

Type Choices
Weapons Aura
Aegis
Tomes Cursed
XP

When it comes to items, they will be random. With Turbo enabled, you'll be opening plenty of chests. Here are some items that will be immensely helpful with the build mentioned above.

  • Sucky Magnet: Pulls in XP around you, and helps you to level up.
  • Shattered Knowledge: As you'll aim to get as many XP shards as possible, enabling them to damage is useful.
  • Turbo Socks: Megachad is slightly slow for my liking, and this item makes him more mobile.
  • Beefy Ring: Adds an extra pool of HP (so you die less), and raises your damage along the way.
  • Time Bracelet: Provides +8% XP gain, which fits the theme.

To wrap up, concentrate on farming as much as possible. If you find the enemies are at a distance, walk towards them, because the onus is on you to kill them quickly. This will help you level up faster. Your top priority will always be upgrading the Cursed Tome, followed by improving Aura. This should put you in a great spot when raising the Cursed Tome to level 20 before 10 minutes.

If you don't have a quest, you can opt for the best builds in the current Megabonk meta to defeat the enemies and unlock higher tiers.

Standing with cogsworth in front of green walls blocking vanellope's house in disney dreamlight valley

Cogsworth has arrived in the village, and he's got plenty of ideas for fixing it up in Disney Dreamlight Valley. To help him with this process, you must work through the Running Like Clockwork quest.

This is the first mission Cogsworth offers you, so it's a crucial one to get done if you want to build your friendship with him. If you're struggling to progress, here's a complete quest walkthrough for the Running Like Clockwork quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to complete Running Like Clockwork in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Talking to vanellope and cogsworth in ddv
Screenshot by Destructoid

To finish the Running Like Clockwork quest, you need to help Cogsworth try out some ideas for improving the valley and help fix him up when he runs into a strange issue. There are lots of smaller steps along the way, so here's a full breakdown of everything you need to get done.

Craft the Harmonious Screen

Cogsworth's first mission is to have you craft some Harmonious Screens that can be used to hide Vanellope's house, which he thinks is hideous. He's saying what we're all thinking, here, and I'm totally on board with this idea. To hide the house, you need to craft six Harmonious Screens, which can be done using 25 Hardwood and 10 Passion Lily.

Once you've got the screens made, place all six of them close to Vanellope's house, wherever you have it set up in the valley. Mine is tucked away in a corner of the Frosted Heights biome, so that's where I placed them. Talk to Cogsworth once you're done, then listen as Vanellope joins in.

For some reason, she's not happy with the remodeling, so take all the walls you placed down, then talk to Vanellope. Once you're done chatting with her, meet up with Cogsworth to discuss what to do next.

Talk to Moana

Cogsworth thinks the beach is unsafe and needs a lifeguard, so it's up to you to find one. Moana is a master of the sea, so track her down around your valley to see if she's up for the job.

Search Dazzle Beach's sand and water to find Broken Pieces of a Tropical Lifeguard Chair

Screenshot by Destructoid

Moana needs a Tropical Lifeguard Chair to efficiently guard the beach, so scour the entire Dazzle Beach biome to find six pieces of her old chair from when she used to be a lifeguard. The pieces in the sand look like small stacks of brown wooden planks you can dig up with your Royal Shovel, while the ones you can find in the ocean appear in sparkling golden bubble spots that can be fished out of using your Royal Fishing Rod.

The sparkles on the ripple spots seem to be a bit buggy, though, as they appeared and vanished frequently, so fish out of all gold spots to ensure you don't miss the pieces. I had four pieces to dig up and two to fish out of the water, but it might be different for you. The spawn locations of these items are random for all players, too, so you just have to carefully search the full biome until you find what you're seeking.

Craft Tropical Lifeguard Chair

Once you have all six pieces, head to any crafting station around the valley and switch over to the Furniture tab. Select the Tropical Lifeguard Chair to craft this item. Place it somewhere in the Dazzle Beach biome once you've crafted it, then talk to Moana to see what she thinks.

Chat with Cogsworth after you're done with Moana, then track down Stitch around your valley to figure out what he did to Cogsworth. He bumped into Cogsworth pretty hard, and now his gears are loose all around the valley.

Catch Cogworth's Gears

Chasing after cogsworth gear in ddv
Screenshot by Destructoid

Find three of Cogsworth's Gears, which are flying around the valley. There is one to be found in three different biomes:

  • Forest of Valor
  • Plaza
  • Dazzle Beach

In each area, you're looking for a small, sparkling, golden set of gears zipping around the biome. Cogsworth's Gears are very fast, so you'll likely need to eat some food so you can glide and chase after it. You can't really catch up to them with regular running.

Once you have all three gears, meet up with Cogsworth to return them. Finish talking to him to conclude the Running Like Clockwork quest. There's still plenty to get done around the valley after this mission, like tackling Lumiere's At Your Service quest or learning how to change the Dream Castle skin.

roblox bloodlines trello and wiki links

Bloodlines is a Naruto-inspired Action RPG experience and like with any Roblox RPG a Trello or a Wiki go a long way to help with starting out and progression. Luckily, this game has both and I'll guide you through them all. Here are the links for the Bloodlines Trello, Wiki and Discord.

Bloodlines Trello, Wiki and Discord Guide

bloodlines trello and wiki guide

Here are all the community information links you need to start your Bloodlines journey as well as progress and grind:

The Bloodlines Wiki and the Trellos are full of useful information to start your progression. That said note that the Trellos are from the playtest era so they may be outdated. They have info on:

  • Basic mechanics
  • All Bloodlines
  • All Clan progression
  • All Skill Trees
  • All Modes
  • All Traits
  • All Weapons
  • All Items & Artifacts

I would also highly recommend that you check out the Discord. One pro tip is to go into the General channel and look under pins where you can find a playlist of useful guides. Note that these might be outdated slightly but they can give you a base knowledge of progression.

Also, the Discord is the best place to track updates and announcements about the game. Buffs, nerfs, reworks and all sorts of changes are archived under the Update Log channel. You can also use the chatting channels to ask about the best options for Clans and any specific questions you may have. The game has been out in playtest for a few years so there are a lot of experienced tester players that can help you.

That's it for my Bloodlines Trello, Wiki and Discord guide. In the meantime, check out our Bloodlines codes for potential free rewards.

A monkey with shades sitting in Megabonk.

Proc Chance, or simply Proc, in Megabonk, is a confusing stat, to say the least. While the game doesn't explain how it works, you must master the concept to make good builds.

Proc in Megabonk refers to any kind of effect that is triggered when you hit an enemy. These effects are always elemental and depend heavily on your build. This guide will explain what Proc Chance means and which items are well-suited to trigger them.

What is Proc Chance in Megabonk

Proc Chance determines the odds of triggering a Proc from your build. Proc Chance is always measured in percentage, and varies from one item to the next. Moldy Cheese is one of the most commonly used items in different Megabonk builds.

If you're using Moldy Cheese, it has a 40% chance to inflict poison. This 40% is effectively the Proc Chance associated with the item. Every hit will have a 40% chance to inflict poison on the enemy.

You have multiple items with proc chances, and they can overlap. However, the chance of two items never adding up will be high, and they will stay separate. You can trigger both (or multiple ones) together, or fail to activate only one (or neither).

If you have multiple items with a Proc Chance, aim to get the Overpowered Lamp. You'll then have a chance to trigger every proc multiple times.

Items in Megabonk
Screenshot by Destructoid

Best Proc items to use in Megabonk

There are plenty of valuable items in Megabonk that have a Proc Chance.

  • Moldy Cheese: 40% chance to inflict poison with every hit.
  • Lightning Orb: 25% chance to generate lightning and stun.
  • Spicy Meatball: 25% chance to explode and cause AoE damage.
  • Dragonfire: 15% chance to create fire and apply burn.
  • Overpowered Lamp: One additional chance to roll for procs.

Unsurprisingly, items with Proc Chance often dominate the best builds in Megabonk. While an element of RNG is associated with how they work, their in-game effects are powerful in the current meta.

Promo image for KPDH in Fortnite

Fortnite's Kpop Demon Hunters update introduces three new NPCs in the form of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, and you can recruit them to fight by your side.

Season 4 already had plenty of NPCs spread around the map. We now enjoy three new choices while trying to beat everyone on the island. Like all other NPCs, you can recruit the trio, but separately. Let's learn more about how to get the Kpop icons as your allies on the field.

Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 4 Kpop Demon Hunters NPC locations

All three of them are located towards the south-west part of the map. Rumi can be found at the Shogun's Solitude region, while Mira and Zoey are in the Outlaw Oasis region.

NPC Speciality Location
Rumi Damage Rumi is located at the marked location on Shogun's Solitude. You'll find a flag location at that spot. Look for a hilltop to its west, and you'll find Rumi walking over there.
Zoey Scout Go to the marked location on Oasis Outlaw, and Mira can be found sitting by the pool.
Mira Medic Zoey is located at the same location as Mira, but on the other side of the pool.

All three will cost you 600 Gold each to recruit.

How to recruit Rumi, Mira, and Zoey in Fortnite

Once you reach the correct locations, go and speak with the NPC. The option to hire them will be on the left side of the cartwheel. You can hire them based on their respective specialities. However, a new K-pop Demon Hunters questline is currently live in Fortnite.

One of the many quests on it requires you to hire all three NPCs, but across separate matches. You'll be rewarded with 10,000 XP for your efforts. It will take some time because you'll require at least three matchers to unlock the seasonal XP.

Standing in Tiana's Palace kitchen with Lumiere and Tiana in disney dreamlight valley

Lumiere has arrived in the valley as an official villager, so it's time to start building your friendship with him in Disney Dreamlight Valley. He's feeling a bit lost and unsure of what to do, so it's up to you to help him in the At Your Service quest.

Since Lumiere is used to having work to do, he's having trouble adjusting to all his new free time. He needs help figuring out what to do, which is where you come in. Here's a complete quest walkthrough for At Your Service in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to complete At Your Service in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Talking to remy and tiana in disney dreamlight valley

To complete the At Your Service quest, you need to help Lumiere feel more at home in the valley by helping him tackle some cooking work with Remy and Tiana. He feels most at home when he's got work to do, so your goal is to help him get involved with his new neighbors. Here's a full breakdown of all key steps in this quest.

Talk to Remy with Lumiere

To kick off this quest, head to Remy's restaurant, Chez Remy, and start a chat with him. Remy is excited to have some help around the kitchen and immediately sends you and Lumiere off on your first quest.

Find items for Lumiere in the Beauty and the Beast Realm

Remy wants some authentic, fresh ingredients, so head back to the Beauty and the Beast Realm with Lumiere to embark on a scavenger hunt for them.

  • French Bread in the backroom –  One French Bread can be found sitting in a crate in the secret passageway between the library and the Beast's bedroom. This is the same room where you previously found some of the Charcuterie Board ingredients during the A Guide to Better Castle-Keeping quest.
  • French Spices in the garden – There are three French Spices hidden around the maze in the garden. Walk through the entire maze carefully, checking all corners, to ensure you pick up each one.
  • French Recipe Book in the library – There are three French Recipe Books to be found in the library. One is on the ground right by the entrance to the secret passageway, one is on the ground in the corner on the left side of the fireplace, and one is on the ground near the main entrance to the library, close to the globe you placed during the Belle, Book, and Candle quest.

Once you have all of the required ingredients, head back to Chez Remy to have a chat with Remy. Things didn't go as planned, and Remy isn't sure if Lumiere is a good fit for his establishment, but luckily, Tiana thinks he would be great for her restaurant.

Clean up Chez Remy

Before Lumiere can get started over at Tiana's Palace, you need to clean up the mess he made at Chez Remy. This task requires you to remove six broken dishes around the restaurant. This can be done by approaching all of the debris on the ground and selecting the "Remove" button once you're close enough for it to pop up.

Once you're done, head over to Tiana's Palace, wherever you have it placed in your village. Walk over to the kitchen and talk to Lumiere to see how things are going. Tiana and Lumiere have some plans for a big event, and need your help to get it all set up.

Craft the Romantic Arch

Start by heading to any crafting station you have placed around the valley to make the Romantic Arch. You can find this item in the Furniture category, and crafting it requires:

  • Three Purple Hydrangea
  • 25 Softwood
  • Six Green Rising Penstemon
  • 40 Stone

Cook some French Desserts for Tiana

Next, you need to cook up some French Desserts for Tiana. There are three unique dishes you need to make, including:

  • Crepe

    • Wheat
    • Egg
    • Milk
    • Vanilla

  • Pastry Cream and Fruits

    • Any Fruit
    • Any Fruit
    • Any Fruit
    • Milk
    • Sugarcane

  • Soufflé

    • Cheese
    • Egg
    • Milk
    • Butter

Once you have all of the recipes made, head back over to Tiana's Palace. Place the Romantic Arch you made outside by it, then head inside to see how progress for the event is going. Unfortunately, things aren't going great, and the restaurant is a total mess.

Clean up Tiana's Palace

To progress, you need to help clean up Tiana's Palace. The mess here is a lot worse than the one you previously fixed over at Chez Remy, so get ready to do lots of cleaning. To finish this step, you must:

  • Remove the broken dishes – Clear away six broken dishes on the ground around the restaurant. This can be done the same way you tackled this task over at Chez Remy, which is simply to approach each mess and select the "Remove" button when it appears.
  • Pick up any floating cutlery – Pick up three floating cutlery items around the establishment. These items stay still and hover slightly off the ground, making them fairly easy to spot.
  • Catch all the flying items – There are three floating items flying around the restaurant. Chase them down and grab them once you're close enough to do so.

After cleaning up, talk to Lumiere and Tiana about the situation. Once you're done chatting with them, the At Your Service quest will officially be complete. Next, you might want to learn how to change the Dream Castle skin.

Tony McZoom in Megabonk

The Microwave is one of the most helpful tools in Megabonk, and spending money on it can help you survive the more formidable enemies.

Every map has a Microwave situated somewhere, and this location is random. The game doesn't exactly help with the location, and this guide will remove your confusion if you cannot find the Microwave. We will then go through how to use the tool properly.

Microwave location in Megabonk

Microwaves can typically be located at any one of the three following spots:

  • Near the place where you spawn on the map
  • The boss portal
  • Random location

Usually, a random location on the map appears to be the likeliest case on most occasions. So, how do we find the Microwave? Look out for the green icons on the map. Typically, the green icons mark the location of different Shrines and challenge areas on the map. The Microwave is also marked with the same icon.

If you're lucky, you can find the Microwave quite easily. If not, the only option is to manually scout every spot on the map to come across the Microwave.

How to use Microwave in Megabonk

Microwaves allow you to multiply an item of your choosing. In exchange, it will consume any other item from your collection. Microwaves have three different rarities, which you can recognise from their color. White Microwaves can only duplicate common-tier items, while Purple and Yellow-colored ones can duplicate higher-tier items.

Each Microwave can be used three times, and it will then explode. It costs money (aka Gold) to use the Microwave, and the amount goes up for higher-tier Microwaves. Then again, you can duplicate higher-tier items with them. However, the odds of higher-tier Microwaves appear relatively low, and I haven't found them too often on my runs.

When using the Microwave, you'll want to duplicate items considered meta and rank high on our tier list.

A character surrounded by skeletons in Megabonk.

The Vampire Survivors and Risk of Rain hybrid Megabonk has a ton of characters and items you can use and find to survive the never-ending onslaught. But much like those two games, things have a tendency to get OP really fast.

Coming by most super-powerful items in the game is quite easy, much easier than in, say, Risk of Rain 2, where RNG can really break a run before it's even started. In Megabonk, on the other hand, I've crafted five quick and easy-to-get builds that should get you through most of the game, if it doesn't crash from all the effects covering your entire screen.

The best Megabonk builds

SWORD (Sir Oofie)

This is by far the simplest of all the builds on this list, but is nevertheless powerful enough to clear any given zone under the right circumstances. Keep in mind, things will depend a bit on RNG, but attaining these items should secure your run's prospects super early.

Type Best Choices Good Choices
Weapons Sword (primary)
Aegis
Chunkers
Aura
Aegis
Lightning Staff
Bone
Tomes Size
Quantity
Agility
Attack Speed
Projectile Speed
XP
Luck
Items Demonic Soul
Power Gloves
Mirror
Beefy Ring
Gym Sauce
Clover

This build, as the name implies, heavily relies on your Sword, which is why we've chosen Sir Oofie for it. He starts with the Sword and can start leveling it immediately. Focus on gaining more and more projectiles for the sword (and the other weapons), while increasing the knockback, size, and damage it does. After several upgrades, you should have so many sword swipes covering such a large area that standing and doing nothing will become a viable strategy.

If you wish to achieve the latter as fast as possible, try to find the Idle Juice, which can double your damage so long as you're standing still. Shield Tome can also come in handy instead of Quantity or Size Tomes (or alongside them, if you have extra Tome space), enabling you to just stand and watch everything around you die. Even if they do get close, they'll be reflected by Aegis, Chunkers, and Mirror, making you nigh-immortal.

Bullet Hell (CL4NK)

CL4NK starts with a Revolver, so he's the perfect choice for this build. Image via vedinad

This build prioritizes projectile quantity and bounces, with a single shot cleaving through several enemies with ease. It does require a lot of damage, meaning you'll have to pursue charge-up shrines and pray you get damage boosts. Even if you don't get too many damage upgrades, the sheer number of bullets will make quick work of most enemy groups, but you could face trouble against single targets like bosses.

Type Best Choices Good Choices
Weapons Revolver (primary)
Bone
Bananarang
Bow
Aura
Lightning Staff
Tomes Quantity
Projectile Speed
Damage
Size
XP
Luck
Items Battery
Gym Sauce
Demonic Soul
beer
Backpack
Tactical Glasses
Boss Buster

With this build, the majority of the screen will be covered in projectiles of all kinds, turning your game into pure chaos. Most enemies should die instantly, and with so many projectiles running around, piercing and bouncing and hitting multiple enemies at once, you should have very few opponents walking toward you at any given time.

The items I've recommended all increase your damage, which should be a number one priority aside from attack speed and projectile count, as it'll help you with boss fights where single enemies can have millions of HP. Crit chance and critical damage increases also help a ton, so you should pay attention to grabbing those if possible.

One Lucky Fox (Fox)

Various items in Megabonk.
The outcome of this build is unpredictable. Screenshot by Destructoid

This build is highly unconventional, as it relies on the innate ability of Fox. He gains Luck with each level, which can be further increased via passive upgrades. This build, therefore, is based on Luck and only on Luck, and can be significantly altered with RNG.

Type Best Choices Good Choices
Weapons Fire Staff (primary)
Lightning Staff
Aura
Frostwalker
Bone
Chunkers
Bananarang
Tomes Projectile Speed
Quantity
Luck
Size
Damage
XP
Cooldown
Items Giant Fork
Overpowered Lamp
Clover
Bing Bonk
Gym Saunce
Forbidden Juice

The items you will need are the Clover and Luck Tome. The latter can be a bit harder to come by, as it's based on... luck and drop rates. Anyhow, prioritize leveling up as much as possible at first, only boosting Fox's starting weapon and maybe adding the Lightning Staff as well. Those two should serve you well, while I do recommend getting Crit Chance if you happen to see it.

Once you've leveled up a lot, you can start visiting Shrines and Vendors, which the increased Luck stat will substantially improve. Every chest should have a hugely improved chance to drop something super powerful. Giant Fork is one example, giving Critical Strikes a chance to Critically Strike and become Megacrits (good if you went down that route). Overpowered Lamp is another, making on-hit effects proc twice. Big Bonk gives a chance for a x20 multiplier on attacks, and so on.

While these items can drop on their own, Fox has the greatest odds of getting them in the game, gaining Luck passively as well as through charge-up Shrines and items. With these rare items, you'll have literally no way of losing, especially if you get multiple and have a lot of attack speed and projectiles to roll them constantly.

Ultimate AFK bonking (Megachad/Sir Oofie)

Megachad's abilities and stats in Megabonk.

The essence of any good roguelite is getting so OP and strong that you don't have to do anything and still win. While some builds above will help you achieve that, we can make it even more busted, to the point of allowing you to clear the AFK Challenge in the game.

Type Best Choices Good Choices
Weapons Sword (primary)/Aura (primary)
Aegis
Bone
Lightning Staff
Axe
Tomes Size
Quantity
Agility
Attack Speed
Cooldown
Projectile Speed
Items Gym Sauce
Campfire
Idle Juice
Demonic Soul
Power Gloves
Thunder Mitts
Beer

With these four weapons, buffed by a Quantity Tome, you'll have so many projectiles around you it's not even funny. Nothing will be able to even come close to you, let alone do damage, and you should be able to wreck just about any enemy in no time. The second Tome (or third, if you've got space) will buff your size further, making the projectiles cover an incredible area, further keeping enemies away. Battery can substitute the Cooldown Tome, but only go for it if nothing else dropped.

Alternatively, you can opt for the Damage Tome to ensure enemies die quickly enough, though the sheer number of projectiles will make short work of most.

On the other hand, items like Idle Juice are tailor-made for an AFK run and, combined with Demonic Soul, can amplify your damage by 200 percent total, which is a stacking bonus only growing in power as your weapons are leveled up.

Can't touch this (Calcium)

Calcium in Megabonk.
Calcium is the right... skelly for the job. Screenshot by Destructoid

But how about a build that's so fast it makes you functionally invulnerable? And what's more, how about a character whose damage output scales with speed? Yeah, this build is an amazing one, and I can't think of anything more fun or easier than it.

Type Best Choices Good Choices
Weapons Bone
Bananarang
Flamewalker
Frostwalkjer
Lightning Staff
Fire staff
Revolver
Tomes Size
Quantity
Agility
Projectile Speed
XP
Luck
Items Coward's Cloak
Turbo Socks
Phantom Shroud
Slippery Ring
Turbo Skates
Forbidden Juice

Calcium is a speed demon in Megabonk, with his passive ability literally called Speed Demon. It grants him bonus movement speed so long as he doesn't take damage, and if he does, it's reduced by half. Additionally, the passive scales Calcium's damage with movement speed, meaning the faster you go, the stronger you get. This is why you'd want all the movement speed buffs possible, no matter what they are, as well as tons of evasion, given that taking damage slows you down significantly.

Bone and Bananarang will ensure you dish out tons of damage, but be mindful of their projectile speeds. If you have two Tome slots, I suggest taking Quantity alongside Agility, but if you can fit three in, I advise taking the Projectile Speed Tome as well.

At any rate, this build will make you zoom across the stage like there's no tomorrow, dishing out some incredible damage along the way. Buffing your jumps with items can also be beneficial but deadly, given that your speed will cause some pretty unbelievable acrobatics.
