Trails Beyond the Horizon Demos Debut

NIS America shared two demos for The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon that allow us to sample different parts of the experience based on which platform we plan to play the JRPG. The Story Demo is out on the Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, and PC now. If you have a PS4 or PS5, you can also get a separate Battle Demo. There's a trailer looking at both trials as well.

The nature of each demo means the experience will be different in each. The Story Demo available on all platforms is the primary experience. That lets you go through the prologue for Trails Beyond the Horizon, and the save files you make during that demo can be carried over to the full version of the JRPG. (You will need to get the Switch and Switch 2 day-one patch for that to work, however.) That allows you to see why Ashen Chevalier Rean Schwarzer, Father Kevin Graham, and Van Arkride are working together with Marduk. The PS4 and PS5 Battle Demo is a sample of the Grim Garten dungeon experience with three preset parties featuring all three leads.

NIS America and Falcom also shared a trailer highlighting what we can expect. It begins with a look at the Story Demo. At the 40 second mark, the focus shifts to the Battle Demo to highlight how the dungeons work.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJUXbKNOhCY

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, and PC on January 15, 2026, and the demos are available on storefronts now.

fantasy life i dlc

Level-5 shared a second trailer and updated release window for "The Sinister Broker Bazario's Schemes," which will be the first major DLC released for Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time. The update will come out around December 25, 2025 (Christmas), and it will be for free for anyone who owns a copy of the game.

The trailer is almost three minutes long. It provides more information on how the DLC will work in Fantasy Life i, as well as the plot behind it. You're transported to Snoozaland, with your character reverted to Level 1. The game will play like a combination of an open world and roguelike, so you'll have to collect new weapons and stuff from treasure chests around the island. Beating Snoozaland will let you take back fancy items for free to the main game. Each new attempt to beat Snoozaland will be different, adding replay value.

You can watch the second trailer here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zUiaq36_xk

The end of the trailer teases yet another piece of DLC. You'll be able to fight against the powerful Primordial Dragon. More information about this will come out later.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is a sequel to Fantasy Life, and it came out in May 2025. It's a role-playing life simulation game, and players have to switch between fourteen different jobs to complete tasks.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is available on the Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. You can read our review of it here.

Zenless Zone Zero Coca Cola FamilyMart Event Announced merchandise

HoYoVerse announced a special Zenless Zone Zero crossover event with Coca Cola and FamilyMart for Japan on social media, which will likely involve new merchandise tied to certain characters. It will be fully detailed on January 16, 2026. However, we don't know the exact dates the collaboration will appear in the country just yet.

There are two teaser images accompanying the Coca Cola FamilyMart promotion with Zenless Zone Zero, and both highlight the same two characters in two different styles. It appears the Victoria Housekeeping faction will be the focus. Both Ellen Joe and Von Lycaon appear to be the featured Agents. Each one is wearing a more casual (for them) outfit than their usual uniforms from the agency. No Coca Cola imagery appears on either one of them. However, each one seems to hold sunglasses in the art.

Here's the official teaser image for the crossover event:

This isn't the only time HoYoVerse teamed up with FamilyMart for an event tied to the game. Another one appeared in December 2024. That involved the Hollow Special Operations Section 6 faction. The featured Agents for the event were Asaba Harumasa, Hoshimi Miyabi, Soukaku, and Tsukishiro Yanagi. That involved Zenless Zone Zero merchandise like folders and acrylic standees.

Zenless Zone Zero is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices, and a Coca Cola and FamilyMart collaboration involving the series will show up in Japan in 2026.

SH Figuarts One Piece Luffy Uniform Wears LA Lakers Uniform

Bandai Namco and Shueisha announced that the next new One Piece SH Figuarts figure will feature Monkey D Luffy in the LA Lakers uniform. It will be on display at Jump Festa 2026 in Japan between December 20-21, 2025. There will also be Luffy's figures based on the One Piece x NBA collaboration that involve 10 total teams. There are no release windows for any of the merchandise yet, but we know the Luffy's will appear in 2026. We should see all of them on the Amazon Tamashii Nations and Premium Bandai storefronts.

This comes after the February 2025 One Piece Night. Monkey D Luffy is wearing the same LA Lakers uniform he did during the imagery released for that game against the Clippers for this SH Figuarts figure. The first two photos show two face plates, with one involving a closed mouth smile and the other one where we can see all of his teeth. He comes with a basketball accessory that he can hold. His hat also is present, but it's on a string around his neck and not on his head.

Here are the first two photos of that figure.

As for the One Piece x NBA Luffy's figures, those are each about eight inches tall (21.5cm). These are more stylized figures inspired by the series' logo. Luffy is standing with his hands on his hips, head down, and hat hanging over his face. His facial features are obscured. The teams confirmed for that are the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, LA Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, New York Knicks, and Oklahoma City Thunder. Two other teams are teased in the image, but their identities are obscured at the moment.

Here's the official teaser for those figures.

The One Piece SH Figuarts Monkey D Luffy LA Lakers uniform figure and Luffy's NBA ones are in development. The original anime is on Crunchyroll and Netflix. Viz Media handles the manga in English. The live-action adaptation is on Netflix.

Bleach Characters Head to Fortnite

Shueisha, Pierrot, and Epic announced that Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War characters will show up in Fortnite. The crossover starts on December 20, 2025. While we'll learn more about that when it appears and see the Dual Zangetsu in-game on December 23, 2025, there is a teaser trailer confirming everyone who will be playable as part of the event. It also confirms there will be a car based on Ichigo's appearance.

Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryu Ishida, and Orihime Inoue all appeared in the trailer for the Fortnite crossover event. Since this is based on the latest Thousand-Year Blood War arc of the anime, everyone does look older. However, Orihime is wearing her Karakura High School uniform, and folks like Ichigo and Rukia are wearing their standard Soul Reaper attire. By including these characters in the update, it means four of the five main cast from the outset of the adventure are present. The only missing person is Yasutora "Chad" Sado.

Here's the official teaser trailer. For each character, there is footage from the anime shown first before the in-game Fortnite model, so we can see how they compare.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2H2KBxYRn4

A lot of anime crossovers appear in Fortnite. Two of the recent ones in 2025 include Kaiju No 8 and One Punch Man.

Fortnite is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, and mobile devices, and Bleach characters will come to the game on December 20, 2025. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity Final Season will air in 2026the original anime and past cours are streaming on on Disney+ and Hulu now. Viz Media handles the manga outside of Japan.

2.5 Zenless Zone Zero Update Release Date Falls at End of 2025

We'll get one last Zenless Zone Zero update before 2025 ends, as the release date for patch 2.5 is December 30, 2025. It also turns out every player will get a free copy of the new Agent Zhao and 1,000 Polychromes as part of this final version of the year. Also, in addition to Ye Shunguang making her debut as a playable character, she'll get a Touch of Dawnlight costume.

The Signal Search banners for Zenless Zone Zero will work a bit differently for this update. The ones starting when the update begins each feature the S-Rank new agents Ye Shunguang and Zhao. Those will be available for the whole of 2.5. The second is an Exclusive Rescreening banner. That begins on January 21, 2026, then runs to the end of the banner. Its three characters are Alice, Astra Yao, and Soldier 0 - Anby. The first 10-pull on it is 20% off, and the first of the three S-rank characters you get will be your "rank up" one.

Here's the full "To Be Fuel for the Night" trailer for the Zenless Zone Zero patch that highlights what we can expect after the release of 2.5. It begins by teasing the new campaign mission with Ye Shunguang and Zhao. Then, we actually see Zhao in battle. That's followed by footage of Shunguang fighting. At the 2:30 mark, we see teasers for banners, events, and additional elements for the update.

Here's the full special program for the update, which goes over all the additions in more detail:

Winterfest promo image in Fortnite

Fortnite Chapter Seven Season 1 has heated up with plenty of free gifts for players to obtain from the Winterfest event, and you can find Shiny Llamas to unlock the new Starbite Slasher pickaxe for free.

To do so, you'll have to find a certain number of these Shiny Llamas over the next couple of weeks. Since this specific item is completely random, it can be slightly tricky to find it. However, this guide will make your job easier by listing all possible sources from which you can find the Shiny Llamas.

How to find Shiny Llamas in Fortnite in Chapter 7 Season 1

You can find Shiny Llamas across different game modes. You can get them in the Battle Royale mode (both Zero Build and traditional works). You can also find them across other official modes, including OG, Reload, and Blitz.

There are multiple instances when you can find a Shiny Llama.

  • Eliminating enemies can drop these Llamas.
  • You can find them from various Supply Drops and treasure chests.
  • Taking down bosses in Chapter Seven, Season One can also get you Shiny Llamas occasionally.

Additionally, you can only gain Shiny Llamas when you play in a squad. Solos, Duos, and Trios won't count. You can either matchmake with your buddies or fill in with random players. Interestingly, you'll enjoy shared progression for the event.

Starbite Slasher pickaxe quest in Fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

In simple words, all Shiny Llamas found by your squad will count for quest progression. This will make things slightly easier if you're looking to unlock the Starbite Slasher Pickaxe.

How to get the Starbite Slasher in Fortnite

The key to obtaining the Starbite Slasher is locked with Shiny Llamas. You'll have to find 400 Shiny Llamas to add the Starbite Slasher pickaxe to your in-game inventory. As mentioned above, you don't have to collect all 400 Llamas manually. The number of statues picked up by your squad will also be considered in the total tally.

Black Ops 7 key art work

Double XP weekends in Call of Duty are considered holidays for some gamers, and honestly, I get it.

The XP grind to unlock weapons, hit Master Prestige, and secure special camos and attachments is best done when the XP rate is higher. In Black Ops 7, there are a ton of things to unlock along the way to Max Prestige, and double XP weekends are perfect for that since you don't need to use any of your XP tokens.

Double XP events happen every few weeks in CoD, and BO7 is the same. It's important to know when these weekends are coming up so you can schedule time with friends to party up and pile up XP in any of the game's multiple modes.

Here's when to clock out early or schedule an off day so you can get in that double XP time in CoD.

When is the next double XP weekend in BO7?

BO7 Endgame Avalon
Image via Activision

The next double XP event in BO7 is now live and coincides with the free week of BO7. This round of 2XP went live on Dec. 19 and will last until Dec. 22, ending in the days before the Christmas holiday.

Fastest way to level up in Black Ops 7

A character fighting zombies in Black Ops 7 Zombies
Image via Activision

The cool thing about BO7 is that, no matter what mode you're playing, you're earning XP towards your levels, Prestige, weapon XP, and eventually even battle pass XP. You can play multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame mode, or even the co-op campaign to earn XP as you level up.

In the end, this means that you can use a double XP token and rack up the points in whatever mode you prefer, but there are definitely faster ways to get XP. Zombies mode Survival maps are great for XP since you can use an item like the Rampage Inducer to spawn more enemies, and the maps are small so you can kite Zombies and blow them up to keep the points flowing.

Another great method is on the Avalon map in the Endgame mode. In the Tier 3 difficulty region north of the Resorts POI, a ton of Fear enemies (zombie-like mobs) will spawn in constantly. You can stay in this area and farm the kills for XP each match, but be careful since you will lose your Combat Rating if you die.

Keep in mind that tokens don't stack during double XP weekends, so save them up for when double XP is not active in-game. But if you're waiting for a double XP event to grind the game, here's what we know about when these events are scheduled to take place.

Black Ops 7 double XP schedule

Date Description
Nov. 21 to 24 Double XP, double weapon XP, double GobbleGum
Nov. 26 to Dec. 1 Double XP, double weapon XP
Dec. 11 to 15 Double XP, double weapon XP, double GobbleGum
Dec. 19 to 22 Double XP

This article will be updated with new double XP info when it's available.

Resident Evil Requiem zombie lady

We're a bit over two months away from Resident Evil Requiem, and fans of the survival horror franchise are already spinning their wheels on theories of what to expect thanks to last week's reveal trailer.

The newest look at RE9 that unveiled grizzled series veteran Leon S. Kennedy as the game's second playable character also had some big secrets within, or so some gamers are convinced. The new theory making the rounds online is that a returning villain was teased in plain sight.

Resident Evil Requiem Leon looking at computer screen
Image via Capcom

At one point in the trailer (as seen in the image above), Leon can be seen looking at images on a computer screen that show some sort of virus or affliction that appears to be rotting people's skin or turning it black. The same condition can be seen in some images creeping up the side of Leon's neck, so he may not be doing so well in his 50s when the game takes place.

Also seen on the screen, however, is the lower half of somebody's face. And that somebody is—brace yourselves—none other than big bad Albert Wesker. Or, that's what people are thinking, anyway. The former S.T.A.R.S. captain and Umbrella agent has not been seen in the canon since the events of Resident Evil 5.

As cool as it would be, I'm not sold on it. The last time we saw Wesker, he was mutated by the Uroboros virus and fighting Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar in a volcano. The duo even shot two rockets at him to seal the deal to try and drive home the point that he was dead dead.

Gamers have been theorizing since 2009 that Wesker somehow survived the events of RE5, but I've never bought into that. They blasted him with RPGs and lava. How could he survive it? Of course, it's Resident Evil, so weirder things have happened, but I'm not buying the idea.

If it truly is Wesker in the picture on the computer screen, then maybe Leon is just looking up some research on his own affliction. That doesn't mean Wesker has somehow returned (like Emperor Palpatine, oh god), but I wouldn't count out his inclusion or relevance to RE9, even if he has no real connection to Leon at all (he was tied directly to Chris, Jill Valentine, and other S.T.A.R.S. members, so if one of them shows up, then maybe I'll change my tune).

Then again, if this truly is the "requiem" for the Umbrella era of the series before Resident Evil moves on to something new, then having Wesker as a plot point would make sense. He's responsible for a lot of what Umbrella did and was capable of from the beginning, and is arguably the most overarching main villain of the franchise.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVZVo2J53TM&pp=ygUQcmU1IHdlc2tlciBkZWF0aA%3D%3D

To add further fuel to the rumor, the trailer also includes a shot of what looks like some sort of sarcophagus or coffin with the Umbrella logo emblazoned on. Is Wesker in there, waiting to rise like Dracula?

We'll see when Requiem drops on Feb. 27, 2026, but for now, I'm keeping my Albert expectations tempered.

The post Some Resident Evil fans are convinced this deader-than-dead villain is somehow coming back in Requiem, but I'm not sold appeared first on Destructoid.

Advanced Electrical Components overlaid over a map of the Dam Battlegrounds in ARC Raiders.

Progression is everything in ARC Raiders, but it's definitely not easy.

A lot of items in the game can be difficult to obtain, with often several steps and prerequisites needed before you can craft them yourself (and even then, at a high resource cost). One such vital item is the Advanced Electrical Components, which can thankfully be obtained in various ways.

Here's everything you need to know.

How to obtain Advanced Electrical Components in ARC Raiders

Map pins placed on several locations on Dam Battlegrounds in ARC Raiders.
I've encountered Advanced Electrical Components and related loot in these zones. Screenshot and remix by Destructoid

Advanced Electrical Components are a crucial item in ARC Raiders, necessary for crafting various other items and tools, including Raider Hatch Keys, which are arguably one of the most valuable pieces of loot in the entire game.

They can be obtained through recycling (by dismantling certain items), looting (found in the world), crafting (made in the Refiner 2 workstation), and dropped from The Queen, one of the most powerful ARCs.

By themselves, Advanced Electrical Components are found in Electrical loot zones, and I've had a tremendous amount of luck finding them in the Power Generation Complex at Dam Battlegrounds. It's one of the most-trafficked zones, and one many people spawn near, so exercise caution when approaching.

On the other hand, a lot of items can be dismantled into Advanced Electrical Components. These include:

  • Rocketeer Drivers
  • Combat Mk. 3
  • Tactical Mk .3
  • Power Rods
  • Telemetry Transceivers
  • Frequency Modulation Box
  • Photoelectric Cloaks
  • Spectrometers

Of course, each of these items is valuable in its own right, so exercise care when choosing which ones you want to dismantle. My advice to you would be to get Refiner 2 running and then simply to craft Advanced Electrical Components, thus removing the need to dismantle items that could prove more useful elsewhere.

Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla

Thanks to a listing on the Writers' Guild of America website, it's all but confirmed that the big bad of Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, the fifth film in Legendary's Monsterverse, is going to be SpaceGodzilla, who made his silver screen debut in 1994's Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla.

I'm only one of countless Godzilla fans who've been crystal-balling SpaceGodzilla's return since Supernova's first teaser dropped back in May, and to celebrate the prophecy's fulfillment, I've been revisiting the Godzilla game that introduced me to the King of the Monsters' cosmic shadow: Godzilla: Save the Earth.

Godzilla: Save the Earth is a must-play multiplayer brawler for Toho fans

Wallpaper from Godzilla: Save the Earth, featuring Godzilla, Mothra, Jet Jaguar Mecha King Ghidorah, and SpaceGodzilla
Image via Pipeworks Software

Released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox back in 2004, Godzilla: Save the Earth is a follow-up to 2002's Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee. Developed by Pipeworks Software, both games are multiplayer fighting games that let you pit Godzilla and his menagerie of friends and foes against each other in city-leveling clashes.

Godzilla: Save The Earth's bread-and-butter combat probably won't endear experienced fighting game veterans, but it absolutely delivers the "giant monster energy" kaiju fans crave. There's weight behind every hit here, and heavier blows almost always send your opponent flying across the arena. Said arenas are full of destructible assets that collapse with a satisfying crunch. If you love giant monster movies, you'll love Save the Earth, but you'll love it even more if you're a die-hard Toho nerd.

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee featured a respectable set of eleven playable monsters (twelve in the American Xbox version), but Save the Earth trumps it with a magnificent eighteen-monster roster. Said roster features some surprisingly deep cuts from Toho lore, including Baragon, Jet Jaguar, and a certain extraterrestrial doppelgänger.

Godzilla Save the Earth introduced me and many other Godzilla fans to SpaceGodzilla

Screenshot by u/GhettoPanda78 on Reddit

In his debut film, SpaceGodzilla established himself as one of the most diabolical members of Godzilla's rogues' gallery. Driven by homicidal hatred for the original Godzilla, SpaceGodzilla's life goals are simple: destroy his genetic double and reduce Earth to a crystal-skewed wasteland.

I've been a fan ever since I saw Mystery Science Theater 3000 rip on Godzilla vs. Megalon on TV as a kid, and I gobbled up every bit of obscure lore I could glean off forums and DVD special features. However, I'd never heard of SpaceGodzilla until I played Godzilla: Save the Earth, so when I played through the game's story mode on hard and found myself face-to-face with the crystalline foe on the final stage, my brain somersaulted.

As Godzilla: Save the Earth's resident super-boss, SpaceGodzilla has a wicked move set. His special moves, from psycho-electric shocks to telekinetic grapples, feel alien in the truest sense of the word. They gobble up SpaceGodzilla's energy reserves, but his ability to summon crystals that speed up his recovery time balances out the frustration. When the kit clicks, playing SpaceGodzilla makes you feel like an unstoppable force, bathing in the eldritch glow of your crystals while you toss your foes around like rag-dolls.

My friends and I sunk plenty of hours into Godzilla: Save the Earth growing up, and thanks to it, SpaceGodzilla has become one of my favorite Toho creations. We're well over a year out from Godzilla x Kong: Supernova's current release date, but if the movie delivers as well's the previous films did, seeing SpaceGodzilla duke it out with the titular monarchs will erase the ravages of time and bring me and other Godzilla fans back to the lost glory days of giant monster couch co-op.

Ghost in summoning circle in phasmophobia

Phasmophobia has all kinds of unique ghost types you can identify, and over the years, this list of ghosts has grown a few times. On Dec. 12, 2025, the Obambo joined the roster, making it one of the later game additions and thus a tougher one to identify.

Since this ghost wasn't around from the start like most others, there's a good chance you might need some help learning how to distinguish it from the rest. Luckily, this ghost has plenty of unique features you can watch out for. Here's how to identify an Obambo in Phasmophobia.

Obambo evidence in Phasmophobia

Ultraviolet footprints in phasmophobia
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Obambo has three official pieces of evidence you need to watch out for, which are Ghost Writing, Ultraviolet, and the DOTS Projector. No other ghost has these three types of evidence, so anytime you catch them all, you know for sure you're dealing with an Obambo. Here's how to capture all three.

Evidence How to get
Ghost Writing Place a Ghost Writing Book down in the ghost room. If the ghost writes anything in the book, you can mark down Ghost Writing as evidence. In lower-level difficulties, you can definitely rule out this evidence if the ghost throws the book. In higher-level difficulties, you cannot rule it out, as it might be hiding this piece of evidence, and thus can still throw the book, even if it does technically have writing as evidence.
Ultraviolet Use an Ultraviolet light to look for marks around the map, especially in or around the ghost room. You're looking for fingerprints, handprints, and footprints. The best way to check for this evidence is to place Salt around the host room and wait for the ghost to step in it. When they do, they'll leave behind Ultraviolet footprints if this is one of their evidence types. If you're on a higher difficulty level, the ghost may hide this evidence.
DOTS Projector Place a DOTS Projector down in the ghost room and witness the ghost manifest in DOTS form in it. The DOTS form is essentially a ghostly silhouette that moves through the DOTS. You can also place a Video Camera down pointing at it to watch for DOTS from the safety of the truck.

Obambo behavior, patterns, and clues in Phasmophobia

Obambo page in phasmohpboia
Screenshot by Destructoid

In addition to official evidence, all ghosts have their own unique behaviors, patterns, and other such clues you can watch out for. Here's everything we know about the Obambo so far, which will be updated as we continue to encounter this ghost.

  • The Obambo has two different states, alternating between them frequently during investigations. Depending on the Obambo's mood, their behavior looks very different.

    • While the Obambo is feeling aggressive, they're much quicker to start hunting.
    • When the Obambo is feeling calm, they're much slower, easier to track, and less likely to hunt.

  • The Obambo's sanity hunt threshold when calm is 10 percent.
  • The Obambo's sanity hunt threshold when aggressive is 65 percent, making it a potential early hunt ghost that can come after you a lot sooner than most others.
  • The duration of the hunt is 20 percent shorter when triggered in the aggressive state.
  • The Obambo is very fickle, frequently switching up, and oftentimes defensive.
  • This ghost always starts off in a calm state.
  • After entering the map, the Obambo switches to an aggressive state one minute after an exit door has been opened for the first time.
  • The Obambo then switches between states every two minutes.
  • This ghost can switch between states during a hunt.
  • The Obambo moves faster when aggressive and slower when calm.
  • Because it alternates between two vastly different states, it can be easy to mistake the Obambo for another ghost type. You might mistake it for The Twins due to its dual nature, a Demon based on its overly aggressive form, or a Shade because of its calm, relaxed state. Careful investigation is crucial for getting this one right. The Obambo is very noticeably different from all of these ghosts, making it easy to distinguish once you know what to look for. You can also use official evidence to confirm.

If the Obambo doesn't seem like a fit for the ghost you're hunting, check to see if it might be the Dayan or Gallu next. And while you're working to see if an Obambo might be haunting the map you're on, you also might want to tackle some key tasks like capturing unique evidence, unlocking hidden achievements, and completing Farmhouse Fieldwork.

Supreme Experiment screenshot

As 2025 winds down and we look towards the future of gaming, a newly announced FPS caught my attention in a big way after its reveal earlier this week.

It's called Supreme Experiment, and it has some pretty familiar tropes. Humanity escaped Earth, evil robots took over, et cetera. But the trailer and screenshots shown thus far really have me itching to find out and see more, because I think it looks like something quite different than the way this sort of game has been presented before.

Supreme Experiment bird-like robot creature
Image via Argunov games

"It has been a century since humanity retreated into the Spire Cities—towers stretching eight kilometers into the sky, high above the toxic clouds," the description reads. "Down on the surface, fleets of intelligent machines were left to maintain the world and supply the towers with everything we needed. Since then, everything ran on its own. No one remembers how it works anymore. The city above the clouds is the only world we know."

Sounds lovely! A city in the sky? What could go wrong? Man, I love BioShock Infinite. AI and robots evolving to the point of destruction? It's been done before, and it's been done recently (hello, ARC Raiders and Horizon Zero Dawn, etc.), and as you may expect, things do not go according to plan in this world, and it all starts to get quite weird down on Earth. But after a closer look, the feel and vibe present me with something that perks me up.

"But one day, the flow of resources simply... stopped," it continues. "The machines fell silent. No signal. No explanation. Hunger and cold are creeping up the towers. Someone has to go down there and find out what happened. No one alive has ever done it before. You are the volunteer. But the world waiting below is not what we imagined. Not even close."

That world below is where I'm drawn, because the art style of what has become of the robots is very unique and unsettling. As it shows in the reveal trailer and some of the images released thus far, the robots have taken on the form of living things like animals and, more disturbingly, humans.

The trailer is atmospheric and unnerving. If the gameplay can match it, then this game may be something to keep an eye on. On Steam, the game is tagged as an "Immersive Sim" FPS, Action-Adventure, and Atmospheric. And yeah, I can see that.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1aP1DwF4uc

It's tough to get too excited about Supreme Experiment without seeing any gameplay at all just yet, but man, I'm really loving the look of it thus far. It's currently got no release window scheduled, so for now, let's all keep an eye on this one as we head into 2026 and beyond, because I think it's got the makings of something special.

For now, let's just hope the concept of this game remains as art and doesn't translate too heavily into what we have going on in our real world today.

A matriarch in ARC Raiders.

The Locked Gate event has returned to ARC Raiders as part of the Cold Snap update, and you can get some fantastic rewards by gaining access to the secret room.

To gain access, you'll have to find four Security Code keys that are spread all over the Blue Gate map. Finding the keys will be your main task since the rest of the steps are pretty straightforward. If you're confused about how to find them, this guide will make your life easier.

How to find all Locked Gate Security Codes in ARC Raiders

There are four Locked Gate Security Codes to find. The four keys, along with the Locked Gate room, are all situated in the Blue Gate map. You can find the Security Code keys in any order of your liking. You don't need to find them all on the same raid, either, given that you manage to return with them (or place them in a Safe Pocket).

Locked Gate security code keys location
Screenshot and remix by Destructoid

The screenshot above has the locations of all four Security Code keys.

  • The Ancient Fort location has a lot of containers, and the code key will be in any one of them.
  • Raider's Refuge is an easier area to search as the containers are fewer in number.
  • The same also applies to Reinforced Reception.
  • Pilgrim's Peak has plenty of searchable containers.

While the Security Code keys are all available in containers, finding them will be dependent on your luck. What you'll want to do is to patiently go through every container that you can find at the locations. If you're lucky, you could find the key from the very first container. If you go through all the containers, it's impossible to miss the Security Code keys.

Once you have all four, head to the Checkpoint POI, and you'll come across a room requiring all four keys. Enter them to unlock the room and loot everything that you can find inside. We have a detailed guide on how to open the room and what to expect. As always, be careful of other players who might try to ambush and steal your loot.

Standing by cooking station disney dreamlight valley

Wishblossom Ranch has all kinds of unique ingredients you can find, which means there are also plenty of special recipes to cook in Disney Dreamlight Valley. One of the many dishes you might want to cook up while exploring the ranch is Button Stew.

It's always tough to figure out the right ingredients for a new recipe, as there are so many unique ingredients to choose from and no way to know the right ones until you simply try to cook. If cooking this dish has you stumped, here's how to make Button Stew in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Button Stew recipe in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Button stew marked in disney dreamlight valley
Screenshot by Destructoid

The recipe for Button Stew is one Button Mushroom and one Carrot. When this recipe was first released, it was bugged and couldn't be cooked, so there's a good chance you may have tried the right recipe, but it didn't work as expected.

All Wishblossom Ranch recipes involving Button Mushrooms were bugged when Wishblossom Ranch first released, so even if you had the right ingredients, the dish you got from cooking with them wouldn't be what you wanted. Luckily, this bug was fixed in The Winter Ball update when Cinderella arrived in the valley on Dec. 10, which means you can now toss a Button Mushroom and a Carrot into a cooking pot as intended.

Button Stew is a highly beloved dish among horses, especially Khan, whom you unlock during the Crystal Caverns: Glamour Gulch quest. It's tough to build your bond with him without it, as you likely won't be able to give him all three of his favorite daily items, so it's a meal you'll likely want to cook regularly.

Button Mushrooms are the main ingredient in this dish, and they can be found growing all around the wild in Glamour Gulch. This includes the Runway River, Paisley Park, Modish Marsh, and Haute Plateau areas.

This item appears as a small, circular, bright yellow clump of mushrooms. The tops are dotted with plus signs of different colors, including purple, blue, red, and more. They stand out quite well against the dark red and black color palette in Glamour Gulch, making them easy to find once you know where to look.

As you hunt around for this item, be sure to check inside all caves in Glamour Gulch. There are quite a few, and I've found many Button Mushrooms hidden away in them, so it's always worth checking to ensure you don't miss any.

Carrots are a crop you must purchase, plant, water, grow, and harvest yourself. You can buy seeds from Goofy's Stall in the Peaceful Meadow biome. They cost 10 Star Coins to buy, and roughly 15 minutes to grow. The growth time is cut down slightly to about 13 minutes if you plant them in the Peaceful Meadow region, since this is their native area.

If you're looking for another dish horses enjoy, you might try cooking Beet Sugar Sculpture. And once you're done cooking, there's plenty more to tackle around Wishblossom Ranch, like feeding Sweet Bees, getting Old Braided Ropecompleting The Skunk Rebellion, and acquiring all horse mount customization options.
