PCGamesN Wednesday, March 16, 2022 3:53 PM Baldur's Gate 3 is in its final year of development, and developer Larian Studios continues to add content and squash bugs as the sprawling Dungeons & Dragons RPG game wends its way toward its full launch. Today, a new hotfix has arrived that addresses a rather critical glitch: in short, it stops everyone in the Druid Grove from hating you if you've visited a certain area in the game. During Act One of Baldur's Gate 3, you can accept a quest called Find the Missing Shipment, which unlocks the Zhentarim Hideout if you complete it. There's plenty to do there, such as trade with the merchant Brem, but some players found that there was a hidden cost to visiting: anyone who had been to the Zhentarim Hideout was marked as a criminal or trespasser by the residents of the Druid Grove. "We've put in a polite word with the druids, or at least talked with the animals in our local petting zoo, and they should be a little more understanding now," Larian says in the latest round of patch notes. PCGamesN Wednesday, March 16, 2022 2:39 PM I did not know that I wanted a wrestling RPG in Earthbound's visual style until I saw the press release for WrestleQuest today. Officially announced during today's ID@Xbox Showcase, WrestleQuest is a retro-style RPG where you try to make it to the top of the wrestling world, meeting a host of actual wrestling legends like Randy Savage and Andre the Giant as you go. This is a turn-based RPG that "mixes real-time action with tactical choices", according to a press release. Screenshots show wrestling matches where you have to control the hype of the crowd, as well as a karma system tracking whether you're a heel or a face. A number of real wrestlers will make licensed appearances in WrestleQuest, including 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, Booker T, Andre the Giant, Jake 'the Snake' Roberts, Diamond Dallas Page, Jeff Jarrett, and "many more". Developer Mega Cat Studios is primarily known for creating original, modern games on platforms like the NES and Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, so they certainly know how to make use of those retro game vibes. |
PCGamesN Wednesday, March 16, 2022 1:37 PM Microsoft fans rejoice! You can now install Windows 10 on the newly released Steam Deck. Yet, you might want to think twice before making the switch, as using the operating system in place of SteamOS could lead to a drop in performance when playing some Steam games. According to tests by LinusTechTips, games like Hitman 3 take a big hit when running on a Steam Deck equipped with Windows, with frame rates dropping from 34fps on SteamOS to just 19. Doom Eternal's Deck performance also leaves much to be desired, as it seemingly runs at an average of 45fps, rather than 60fps. Surprisingly, Elden Ring isn't a complete disaster, as there's only a difference of 7fps compared to Linux. Gaming performance aside, Windows 10 optimisation on Steam Deck is questionable, as basic UI elements like the brightness slider and battery status are currently janky. The handheld gaming PC also seems to struggle with the operating system's sleep mode, as LinusTechTips says the device either "takes forever or never wakes up." PCGamesN Wednesday, March 16, 2022 1:27 PM There's a new video out for one of the most anticipated upcoming PC games around, and it seems to include a short snippet of Starfield gameplay. The footage seems in-game and shows the new Starfield companion character Vasco the robot. Starfield has the potential to be one of the best space games on PC, but all we've really seen of the game is a short teaser trailer from back in June 2021. In that trailer, one notable character was a chunky bipedal robot walking outside the ship. This is Vasco, who also appeared in a brief bit of animation at the end of 2021. In the latest episode of Bethesda's Into the Starfield series, the team talks a bit about the open-world game they're creating and how it will draw in the player. "It's a level of immersion that we really focus on," lead artist Istvan Pely says, "you're not just playing a game but you're living in this world, in this universe." PCGamesN Wednesday, March 16, 2022 1:38 PM We've already had an experimental snapshot for Minecraft's next major update, but now the regular 1.19 snapshot series has arrived with snapshot 22w11a. That means that the Minecraft devs at Mojang are now fully focused on building the Wild update, and you can expect weekly beta versions of Minecraft: Java Edition where you can play with those new features early. The new snapshot will let you play with the Deep Dark biome, frogs and tadpoles, mangroves, mud blocks, and the Sculk systems. You'll also be able to check out 3D directional audio in the sound settings, an option which "is best experienced with headphones". The Deep Dark and Sculk were already implemented in the experimental 1.19 snapshot in February, but frogs and mangroves are getting their time to shine now. Frogs can "jump", "swim", "walk on land", "croak", and "eat small magma cubes, causing a froglight block to drop". You know, just normal frog stuff. You can check out the full patch notes over on the official site. RELATED LINKS: Minecraft console commands, Minecraft skins, Minecraft mods |
PCGamesN Wednesday, March 16, 2022 12:26 PM FFXIV's villains have been a pretty diverse group, but as a decade of storytelling concluded in Endwalker, the stakes reached reality-cracking heights. The devs behind the MMORPG have already hinted that there's going to be a gentle story reset post-Endwalker, but in a new interview, director and producer Naoki Yoshida confirms that we shouldn't expect to immediately go back to fighting bigger and badder gods. In a Famitsu interview, Yoshida mentions that previous Final Fantasy games have had players going against personifications of the Void itself. However, as Gematsu translates, Yoshida "doesn't think continuously inflating the scale of the story and making stronger bosses is a good idea". As detailed in live letter 69, FFXIV's next patch is called Newfound Adventure, hinting that we'll be returning to the more traditional adventurer role that player characters began with in A Realm Reborn. Writer Natsuko Ishikawa says that the devs aren't entirely done with the Endwalker plot, however, and a "smaller-scale," "complementary" story will explore some of the expansion's events in further detail. PCGamesN Wednesday, March 16, 2022 12:14 PM The best graphics cards are still monstrously expensive, but hopeful whispers indicate that Nvidia plans to lower the price at which it sells its GPUs to board partners. According to Wccftech, the move will see chip prices slashed by up to 12%, which could ultimately make the green team's current range of components more affordable for consumers. If you're unfamiliar with the ins and out of GPU pricing and manufacturing, it may be unclear as to how exactly Nvidia's plans will affect your wallet. Simply put, the 8-12% savings made by board partners like Asus and EVGA should hopefully trickle down to retailers and SIs (system integrators.) Meaning picking up a graphics card on its own or as part of a prebuilt gaming PC should come with a decidedly less offensive price tag. There's already evidence to suggest AMD Radeon and Nvidia GeForce GPUs are finally getting cheaper, but these changes to manufacturing costs could help the market to return to the way it used to be. Yet, it's worth keeping in mind that plummeting prices won't necessarily alleviate immediate graphics card availability, as crypto mining and component shortages are still very much at play. PCGamesN Wednesday, March 16, 2022 12:11 PM Now that the quantum uncertainty field surrounding the Dwarf Fortress Steam release date has collapsed a bit, we know that we're actually getting closer to having our hands on the new graphics-enhanced version of the cult hit management game. When Dwarf Fortress does arrive on Steam, you'll be able to pick colours for the furniture your dwarfs create, allowing you to coordinate your banquet halls and bedrooms. Creator Tarn Adams says several Dwarf Fortress community members had worked on different colours for wood about five years ago, and that now that the game won't be displayed entirely in ASCII text anymore, we'll be able to see all those different materials and colours represented visually. As you can see in the image above, stone and wooden doorways and hatches, as well as beds and coffins, can all be coloured in various hues, which depend on the material used to make them. Adams says you'll be able to specify the material you want when you're building or placing furniture in order to colour-coordinate the space you're decorating. Lovely! |
PCGamesN Wednesday, March 16, 2022 11:15 AM Could an Elden Ring anime be on the way? In a press release that also revealed that the RPG game had sold over 12 million copies worldwide, publisher Bandai Namco says that it's taking the franchise and "expanding beyond the realm of games" - which may mean Elden Ring novels, comics, anime, or possibly even live-action tie-ins. Elden Ring isn't just one of the best open-world games on PC, it's also now confirmed to be a highly successful one. In its first three weeks, it's sold over 12 million copies worldwide, and in Europe, nearly half of its sales came from the PC version. Bandai Namco's English press release calls this "a fantastic start for the new franchise", suggesting that the publisher is already planning on expanding the series. The Japanese press release - which is also available in English - specifically notes that fans can "look forward to more of Elden Ring as an IP (characters and other intellectual property) in hopes of expanding beyond the realm of games". PCGamesN Wednesday, March 16, 2022 9:59 AM It appears that Intel Core i9-12900KS CPUs are already making their way into the hands of a select few lucky customers, despite there still being no official release date or price for the soon-to-be flagship chip. According to VideoCardz, a customer by the name of 'DAGINATSUKO' was able to snag themselves Intel's prospective best gaming CPU by placing an order with a US retailer before the outlet was able to pull the listing from their website. They apparently were asking around $790 USD for the processor, which makes it $200 more expensive than the Core i9-12900K. However, it's currently unclear whether this is indicative of the actual MSRP for the Core i9-12900KS. Unfortunately, we still don't yet know how much the increased max turbo frequency of 5.5GHz found on the Intel Core i9-12900KS's performance-cores and higher power draw will affect gaming performance. We shouldn't have to wait much longer for benchmarks to emerge, however, whether they come from Intel directly or from a lucky third-party that already has the processor. PCGamesN Wednesday, March 16, 2022 1:44 PM Publisher Bandai Namco reports today that Elden Ring sales worldwide have surpassed over 12 million copies sold, across all platforms. As PCGamesN reported yesterday, a significant proportion of these sales come from the PC version - at least in Europe, where the PC release outsold the PS4 and PS5 versions combined. Just last week it was confirmed that Elden Ring had the second-biggest launch in the last 12 months, just after Call of Duty: Vanguard - which had 25 days of sales in its release month, as opposed to Elden Ring's three. It's the biggest launch for a new IP since The Division in 2016. In a press release (and a thank-you tweet) Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware reveal that Elden Ring has sold over 12 million copies worldwide, across all platforms - including digital sales. "It's astonishing to see just how many people have been playing Elden Ring," says director Hidetaka Miyazaki in the release. "I'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks on behalf of the entire development team." RELATED LINKS: Best Elden Ring settings, Elden Ring bosses guide, The best Elden Ring classes |
PCGamesN Wednesday, March 16, 2022 12:04 PM Getting your hands on some Core Keeper tin ore is likely the first real obstacle you'll face as you start upgrading your equipment in this adventure game. While the copper gear you find early on works well for the first slew of battles and adventures, it's not good enough to help you beat down some of the horrors that await in the dark depths. So, grabbing tin ore is going to be one of the first things you'll want to do once you've got a basic base set up. The only trouble is, Core Keeper isn't exactly forthcoming with information on, well, anything. Core Keeper is so early in development that it doesn't have a tutorial yet. Instead, you're provided with a cutscene that says you're in trouble. Lucky for you, we know all there is to know about Core Keeper tin ore, and we're always happy to help by sharing our wealth of knowledge with you. Here's what you need to know about finding tin ore in Core Keeper, why you need it, and what it can be used for. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Wednesday, March 16, 2022 1:30 PM In a move befitting a game about immortal beings who live out countless repeating lives on artificial islands powered by human sacrifice, Paradise Killer is getting a re-release. Sort of. It's coming to next-gen consoles today, with all platforms (including PC) getting some extra bits added for free that weren't in the original 2020 release. Not bad for a game that Kaizen Game Works creative director Oli Clarke Smith thought would only really sell to "a niche of freaks". If you're not one of those freaks, I'd heartily recommend becoming one. Playing Paradise Killer is like going to a seaside cosplay party where police procedurals play on loop and cocktails are snorted in a dehydrated powder form. It is a meticulously authored murder mystery with a cast of freaks. When I sat down to talk to both Clarke Smith and technical director Phil Crabtree about Paradise Killer's new update, it turns out that niche has already become quite large. Even Crabtree's dad has played Paradise Killer, though Crabtree isn't sure he really understood it. Crabtree also tells us he sometimes get messages from friends saying someone they know just played Paradise Killer and was talking about it. "It just seems so weird that that there is this audience there that we never expected, and it doesn't seem that far away," he says. "Like, it's not this mystery group of people, there always seems to be some connection that's quite close to you." |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Wednesday, March 16, 2022 1:00 PM Clink your wine glass. Tunic is not so much a love letter to Zelda as it is a wedding speech. Many games pay their respects to the blonde lawn mower and his absentee princess, but few have such fondness and understanding of the exact feelings those adventures conjure up, the precise sensation of exploring, the nook-scavenging, and the meticulous internal mapping that happens when you play Zelda's brand of wundergame. Tunic might have sacrificed some of its own identity in hitting every Ocarina note so perfectly, but when the result is such a capable homage it's hard to complain. |

Siliconera Wednesday, March 16, 2022 2:00 PM When the Lost Judgment The Kaito Files DLC arrives, people will have a new protagonist to use. That means he won't fight exactly like Takayuki Yagami does. Rather, Masaharu Kaito uses the Bruiser and Tank Styles. To help people get a better idea of how he'll work in-game, there are two new trailers showing off his attacks. First, here's Kaito's Bruiser Style. This is the fast-paced option. It's about quickly attacking and reacting. All of his energy is concentrated in his fists. However, he can grab and kick people when needed. The segment shows how this works against single opponents and groups. The next Lost Judgment The Kaito Files DLC video focuses on the Tank Style. As the name suggests, this is a more formidable approach to a fight. The video shows off a number of grabs. There are also some reactionary moves to opponent's assaults. It shows him using environmental objects, like a scooter, to attack opponents too. Lost Judgment is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, and The Kaito Files DLC will arrive on March 28, 2022. You can get it alone or as part of a $34.99 season pass that includes other DLC. The post Lost Judgment The Kaito Files DLC Styles Showcased appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Wednesday, March 16, 2022 1:30 PM Now that Triangle Strategy is out, there's a new video celebrating some of its characters. Nintendo shared a time lapse segment featuring Designer Naoki "Ikusy" Ikushima drawing Serenoa Wolffort and Frederica Aesfrost. They're the two leads in the game, and the clip shows them standing against a painted background. Here's the full video showing the picture coming together.
Ikushima's work may look familiar. In addition to designing Triangle Strategy characters, the artist worked on a number of other Square Enix games. Among them are character designs for Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default II. As a reminder, Triangle Strategy is Square Enix's latest tactical RPG. It begins with a war. Aesfrost makes a move to take over Glenbrook, leaving Serenoa and his allies to stand against them. Throughout the campaign, players will try to convince their allies to commit to certain actions while also winning battles against foes. Triangle Strategy is available for the Nintendo Switch. When he gets there, he finds she's also summoned Gato to participate. He's in it for information on his father. The backstory also revealed that B. Which means that when they do, cosmetic items will be back if you catch them. Here's how the FFXIV crossover event works in FFXI. You first have to talk to a Moogle so you can start to catch the spriggans. They're in Port Bastok at K-7, Southern San d'Oria at G-9, and Windurst Waters at F-9. Then, you need to go to the other Moogles in North Gustaberg at L-8, West Ronfaure at I-6, and West Sarutabaruta at J-8. Once you've done that, you can fight and catch the Vana'dielian wildlands' invaders. When you fight spriggans, you get chartreuse, mauve, and vermillion stone shards. These can be used in a lottery to get cosmetic items. Each stone has different odds at getting the best prizes. If you get the booby prize or third prize, that also increases your odds of getting better prizes. Here are all the items people can get in the lottery for their shards.
In the meantime, there are other new activities available in FFXI. The March 2022 update is live. The Treant Ambuscade fight is now available. Final Fantasy XI is available on PCs. At about the 1:43 mark, the Digimon Survive trailer briefly looks at some gameplay clips. There's a visual novel segment, one in which someone explores a site by using a phone, a glimpse at the world map on the phone, and a brief in-battle scene. Meanwhile, we still don't know exactly when Digimon Survive will appear. The game's been delayed multiple times over the years. At Digimon Con 2022, Producer Kazumasa Habu talked about the darker and more mature overtones in the game. However, he also noted that they weren't ready to set a release date yet. Digimon Survive will come to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2022. The post New Digimon Survive Trailer Focuses on Characters appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Wednesday, March 16, 2022 11:30 AM In Genshin Impact, miHoYo tends to bring back old activities. Typically, this happens at least six months after their debut, if not a year later. Now the Hyakunin Ikki Genshin Impact event is poised to return on March 18, 2022. This is a battling event in which you take teams of characters and swap between them as you face enemies. The Hyakunin Ikki event first appeared in Genshin Impact back in September 2021. The March 2022 revival should feel similar. How it worked in the past is that people would make teams of two characters. (People are supplied, but you can use your own.) You'd then need to fight enemies, swapping off, to earn high scores. You also equip Special Arts to buff your parties. Depending on your scores, you will earn Primogems, Mora, Mystic Enhancement Ores, Talent Level-Up Materials, and Weapon Ascension Materials. This isn't the only major Genshin Impact event happening on March 18, 2022. MiHoYo announced the 2.6 event stream will be held that day. It will go over the next update. That will bring the Chasm to Liyue and add Ayaka's brother Ayato as a playable character. Genshin Impact is available on the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. It will also eventually come to the Nintendo Switch. The Genshin Impact Hyakunin Ikki event will return March 18-28, 2022. Siliconera Wednesday, March 16, 2022 11:00 AM A new game mixing 19th-century samurai cinema with an undead apocalypse is coming soon. Ed-0: Zombie Uprising is slated for a debut on PC via Steam Early Access on April 4, 2022. It is a new action game developed by Lancarse and published by D3Publisher. Ed-0: Zombie Uprising was first spotted via trademark filings in February. People speculated it was a spin-off of D3Publisher's Earth Defense Force series. As it turns out, the title is a play on words for "Edo," the former name of Tokyo. Rather than Earth Defense Force, it appears that Ed-0 bears a closer kinship to D3 Publisher's Oneechanbara series. Ed-0 is set during the 19th century. An undead outbreak overwhelmed the Japanese capital. Three warriors - the Samurai Mumyo, the Sumo Wrestler Raiden, and the Ninja Matoka - are all that are left of the once-thriving metropolis. The trio must survive the myriad dangers of a zombie-choked nation and obtain power and glory in the ruins. Each character will have a unique playstyle and abilities that make the experience distinct depending on who players choose. The Early Access phase for Ed-0: Zombie Uprising is planned to last for at least six months, with room for longer based on feedback and development milestones. Two of the three characters will be playable at the start. The third will be made available later in the Early Access period. The game is planned to have at least 10 hours of content available from the outset, with main quests, sub quests, and bosses implemented. More than 100 items and skills will also be playable, though subject to tuning as the testing goes on. Ed-0 is also a roguelike, so each run of the game is procedurally generated and promises a high level of replayability. Check out the Early Access trailer for Ed-0: Zombie Uprising at this link. Ed-0: Zombie Uprising enters Early Access on PC on April 4, 2022. A full release date was not specified, but the Early Access period is expected to last at least 6 months. Siliconera Wednesday, March 16, 2022 10:30 AM Bandai Namco published a diagnostic quiz on the Gundam Game 35th Anniversary website. The page contains six questions with multiple answers to determine the results. It will then recommend a Gundam game from various genres, ranging from action to strategy. Here are our translations of the Japanese Gundam game quiz page:
After answering the above questions, the quiz page will recommend a Gundam game available on currently active platforms. It also includes upcoming titles among the possible results, such as SD Gundam Battle Alliance and Gundam Evolution. Bandai Namco will release the action RPG SD Gundam Battle Alliance and the free-to-play first-person shooter Gundam Evolution for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2022. SD Gundam Battle Alliance will also appear on Nintendo Switch. The post Gundam Game Quiz Will Recommend a Suitable Title appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Wednesday, March 16, 2022 10:01 AM When it comes to strategy games, Nintendo Switch owners are pretty lucky. We have entries in the Fire Emblem and Valkyria Chronicles series here, as well as Advance Wars on the way and Square Enix SRPGs like Triangle Strategy and the upcoming The DioField Chronicle. But when it comes to Fire Emblem, not all of them are traditional. We have the actual port of the very first game in English, yes. That's great. But Fire Emblem: Three Houses and the Fire Emblem Warriors games are very different. Which is what makes an upcoming indie port so appreciated. Dark Deity brings with it more classic Fire Emblem elements. There are many ways in which Dark Deity evokes the Fire Emblem spirit while remaining its own, unique entity. The first is its presentation. This is a strategy game that relies on its sprites and grids. When you head into a map, everyone is on their own square, with the traditional sort of appearance you'd expect from such a game. Some maps can involve gimmicks like being adjacent to certain people or objects for special interactions or being on top of portals for movement. But you have the classic look and movement scheme that calls to mind 3DS, DS, GBA, and SNES installments. Dark Deity is also a game in which the distinct classes really feel as though they matter. In this way, it can feel more like the Fire Emblem entries we played between the NES and GBA eras. Characters' skills stick with them and define them. So while you can shift around when you promote them at levels 10 and 30, it isn't as though you can cobble together an army of Galeforce users who will wipe out most of the opposing forces during a single turn. People sit comfortably in their niches. You need to work with that. This can mean Dark Deity demands the same sort of smart decisions as early Fire Emblem entries too. Yes, there is an "easy" difficulty level called Mortal. It makes enemies less intimidating and bolsters your own forces. But knowing you must work with the characters and classes you get, while also potentially dealing with stronger than usual enemies and fewer rewards on the Deity difficulty could prove intimidating. I'd almost even say the Grave Wounds system, which appears in place of permadeath and randomly cuts into one ally stats by 10% each time they fall in a fight, could end up being more harrowing than dying. Because at least if someone is gone, you know you can focus on other units. An impaired unit could gradually become worse and worse if you aren't cautious. I also appreciate that Dark Deity includes a feature that folks online cobbled together unofficially for Fire Emblem games. Some people in the community made it possible to, say, randomize what people are capable of or when you'll get them. Think of it as a way to up the challenge or add replay value. When you begin a Dark Deity run, you have that option. You can change aptitudes, randomize enemy classes, items, and weapons, and alter the recruitment order for party members. You can also modify stat increases, the amount of gold you'll earn, and experience earned. It's exhilarating. It takes every possible player into account. The downside is, there is some awkwardness with the Switch version of Dark Deity. In some cases, it involves the input choices. For example, when advancing after a battle or choosing a promotion, you're pressing the minus symbol to accept, rather than A. Which can take getting used to, since A is used to confirm otherwise in the game. You'll also spend some time staring at loading screens. Which can feel like a bit much, given this is a 2D, sprite-based game. Still, Switch owners who take a chance on Dark Deity get a new Fire Emblem-like that respects the "old" ways. It may offer modern conveniences, like dispensing with weapon durability or seals to promote. However, at its heart it respects the traditional approach in terms of art and gameplay. It's another great option for people who like to think critically and are searching for a challenge. Dark Deity will come to the Nintendo Switch on March 17, 2022. It is also available on PCs. Siliconera Wednesday, March 16, 2022 9:00 AM Capcom has put up a new collection of apparel based on its company logo and game titles on Amazon. The lineup features T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies from the Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, and Mega Man franchises. The company has listed the items on both the Japanese Amazon.co.jp and English Amazon.com websites. The titles embedded in the Capcom game apparel will differ based on the store region. The English store will have Resident Evil and Mega Man-branded apparel. Those brands will instead change to Biohazard and Rockman in the Japanese store. When viewed in the U.S., the full catalogue of English Capcom apparel is available to purchase from Amazon. However, Amazon may not ship the items to some countries and regions outside the U.S. As of this writing, the only items available for purchase on Amazon.com from Southeast Asia appear to be related to Monster Hunter Rise. The Palico sweatshirt is available at $43, the Palico pullover hoodie at $47, and the Kamura Village long-sleeved T-shirt at $30.50. The shirts are available in different colors and sizes. Capcom will release the Sunbreak expansion to Monster Hunter Rise for Nintendo Switch and PC on June 30, 2022. Last week, the company also revealed Exoprimal, a 5v5 multiplayer shooting game featuring dinosaurs that will appear on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2023. PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 16, 2022 3:00 PM Tunic, the unbelievably cute-looking game starring a little fox in a, well, tunic, is available today. But, in a rare surprise, Tunic is also on PC Game Pass today as a day one launch game. It's moments like this that help ease the pain of once again living through daylight savings time. The news dropped earlier today during the latest ID@Xbox showcase. We got a new trailer, as well as the announcement of its launch and Game Pass release. It's playable at this very moment, so if you're a subscriber looking for a colorful and challenging Zelda-like for PC, then wait no more. I should emphasize the "challenging" part. While I haven't had the pleasure of trying Tunic yet (I'm still slugging my way through the giants' area in Elden Ring), our sister-site Destructoid has already dropped its glowing review. Zoey Handley writes that the game draws some inspiration from Dark Souls, such as its tough combat and its world "largely d... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 16, 2022 2:30 PM Just two weeks after launch, Elden Ring has reached a colossal 12 million units sold worldwide. According to a press release from publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer FromSoftware, 1 million units were sold in Japan. The open-world action/RPG hybrid launched on February 25. It has been consistently among the best-selling games on Steam, as well as Xbox and PlayStation platforms. The impressive sales figure encompasses all platforms, as well as both physical and digital versions of the game. To put this number into perspective, Dark Souls 3 reached 10 million units sold four years after its initial release date. From the official press release, Game Director Hidetaka Miyazaki said: "It's astonishing to see just how many people have been playing Elden Ring. I'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks on behalf of the entire development team." The president and CEO of Bandai Namco, Yasuo Miyakawa, was also pleased. PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 16, 2022 2:00 PM We've been waiting for Intel to release its Arc Alchemist graphics card lineup for some time now. After reports suggested that we could see these cards sometime in spring, we now have confirmation on that. Intel has launched a page on its website that teases an event for March 30 where we'll see the laptop variant of one of the GPUs. Alongside the announcement, a short description says "see Intel Arc graphics take center stage and get a first look at our new discrete graphics for laptops." Of course, there's a fairly big 'desktop GPU' shaped elephant in the room here as well. There's still no exact date for when we can expect Intel's Arc desktop graphics cards. We do have a broad window though since Intel previously mentioned that these cards will release sometime in Q2 2022. So we may get an announcement sometime in April, May, or June. Intel is committed to shipping at least four million units by the end of the year, so if all ... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 16, 2022 1:45 PM Developer Supermassive Games filed a trademark for a game called The Quarry late last month. Details beyond that were sparse, and it was unclear how long we'd have to wait to find out more. Thanks to a countdown posted on 2K's website, we now know that an official reveal for The Quarry is less than 24 hours away. The reveal will take place on Thursday, March 17 at 12 p.m. ET. The Quarry is confirmed to be a horror game published by 2K Games. While an exact release date has not been announced, we do know that it will launch sometime this Summer. Supermassive Games posted an accompanying teaser trailer on its official Twitter account. This trailer provides some insight into the theme and tone of The Quarry, as well as some dialogue. There's nothing too substantial in it, but you can expect the good stuff to follow shortly in tomorrow's reveal. There's good reason to be excited ahead of the reveal of The Quarry. PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 16, 2022 1:00 PM Since the launch of Halo Infinite, fans haven't seen much in terms of new content. With Season 2 arriving in May, there is still a long way to go until they get a fresh experience. And when 343 Industries announced co-op would not launch with the beginning of Season 2, some players were understandably disappointed. There may be light at the end of the tunnel for fans who are hungry for new content, though. According to a new leak, there could be plans for Halo 5's Warzone mode to be introduced into Halo Infinite. Similar to Big Team Battle, Warzone was a 12v12 mode with various objectives for players to complete. According to a leaked image from HaloHubGG on Twitter, Halo Infinite players could be in for a hit of nostalgia, but with a twist. As you can see, the leaked image is of an unreleased settings page. The mode suggests players may be able to respawn in drop pods and use individual life pools. With that being said, the part of the leak that has caught the attention... |
