PCGamesN Monday, June 12, 2023 12:44 PM The new Hell Let Loose trailer, which outlines the upcoming Devotion to Duty update for the WW2 FPS game, is described as "embarrassing," "scary," and "sad," owing to complaints regarding voice acting and a number of apparent glitches. Devotion to Duty brings a smaller 25v25 game mode to the war shooter, based on the battle of Brécourt Manor, as made famous by HBO's Band of Brothers. It arrives after Hell Let Loose creator Black Matter handed full-time development to Team17 and its partner studio Cover 6, and is scheduled to arrive on July 8. It seems like a cruel joke for the roguelike game to add cheat codes this late in development, but here we are. One of the later patches gave would-be vampire hunters a chance to enter some codes for powerful abilities. You can click on the Yellow Sign entry seven times to unlock this secret menu, but it will disappear not long afterward. To permanently unlock the Vampire Survivors cheats, you need to find the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, which you can obtain by slaying the Bone Orb in the Bone Zone. Once you pick this up, a new secrets menu will appear on the main menu in the roguelike game. Not only can you enter cheats here, but you can also see the conditions for unlocking the hidden Vampire Survivors unlockable characters. PCGamesN Monday, June 12, 2023 12:41 PM What is the Starfield frame rate? You may have heard that on Xbox consoles, the frame rate for this vast space game will be locked to 30fps. While this fact won't bother most people, you might be concerned if you own a high-end computer with a high refresh rate display. If an option on PC that gives you a higher, consistent fps exists, it's only understandable that you'd wish to know in advance. As the Starfield release date is still a few months away, you could try to solve any potential issues by upgrading your PC. PCGamesN Monday, June 12, 2023 12:06 PM What are all the Vampire Survivors weapon evolution combinations? The roguelite indie game is still going strong with new updates, as players discover the sheer joy of walking around a forest or library, slaying an ever-growing encroaching horde of monsters that just want to be very close to you. It's a relatively simple yet viral indie game. It's also one of the best PC games of the past year. However, mastering it and unlocking Vampire Survivors characters can get tricky if you don't spec into the correct build. To evolve a Vampire Survivors weapon, you must first level it up to its maximum level and collect its linked item before killing an elite monster and opening the chest. Unfortunately, you only have a few slots for weapons and items, so you must choose carefully. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, June 12, 2023 2:24 PM I may not have seen Avatar or its sequel, but I like to think that means I'm numb to any preconceptions or bias. I am a man who understands only that there are lanky Smurfs who live in a world you'd get if you mashed Halo and Viva Piñata together. So, having seen roughly 30 minutes of Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora, I can give you the unfettered lowdown of a person who's analysed it with a cold, hard stare. In brief, the game looks rather lovely! If… too lovely. I worry there's a big catch somewhere and I can't put my finger on it. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, June 12, 2023 2:15 PM After its big reveal at Summer Game Fest on Thursday, the internet has not taken kindly to Ubisoft's new Prince Of Persia game. There have been reports that The Lost Crown's gameplay reveal trailer (which currently sits across five separate YouTube channels) is continuing to rack up significantly higher dislikes than likes since it got announced, and many seem to have taken issue with the trailer's accompanying rap song and that it doesn't look like a "true" Prince Of Persia game, whatever the heck that means. It's disappointing to see a game instantly dismissed like this, not least because, as someone who's actually been to Ubisoft Montpellier to play the damn thing, this is arguably the most exciting Prince Of Persia game in years - and certainly more interesting than the troubled Sands Of Time Remake. |

Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, June 12, 2023 10:00 AM Sometimes all you need from a video game is a bit of bloodshed with your pals. And sometimes, all you need from a sequel is the first one, but a bit bigger and bit better. Having spent a few hours with third-person co-op shooter Remnant 2, I reckon it's shaping up to be exactly those two things. It remains unconcerned with telling groundbreaking stories or delivering breathtaking cinema in its fights - it doesn't care. From what I've played, it's more about being the looter shooter for those who care about fine-tuning the consistency of the numbers they're able to extract from their foes. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, June 12, 2023 9:38 AM Let me tell you, being at an Xbox Games Showcase in-person is quite the experience. I'd got my pass, got seated in the theatre and finally had a chance to take in my surroundings. There were lots of folks, obviously, either excitedly chatting or awkwardly swivelling their legs to let people pass. Many wore Xbox jerseys. One man had an Xbox logo shaved into his head. A photographer asked our section to smile, so I managed the pained grin of a British person who encounters a stranger on a walk, the bunching of my cheeks pulling my lips into a curl. Meanwhile, those dressed in their Microsoft jerseys crossed their forearms and hollered. The countdown flashed up on screen and the crowd started chanting, "five, four, three!", and for a second it felt like I was the only one who hadn't supped from a bowl of green liquid or beat my chest to the rhythm of "Play it day one on Xbox Game Pass". The crowd was on another plane of existence and, for brief moments, I was there with them. At other times I felt the physical fatigue of the trailer train more acutely than ever. |

Upcoming slice-of-life RPG Nivalis presents a cosy fantasy: you can stroll through rainy neon streets, do a spot of interior design, chat with your lovers, rivals, business partners and friends. As the soothing and only slightly creepy ASMR-style narrator in the new story trailer reveals, you can also take boat trips while praying you don't cross paths with the murderous android serial killer on the loose.

Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, June 12, 2023 9:00 AM Ahead of the launch of its Steam Next Fest demo next week, I've been playing a substantial early build of Mimimi Games' latest stealth strategy game, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. After delighting us with Edo-period Japan in Shadow Tactics: Blades Of The Shogun and the rootin' tootin' tales of the Wild West in Desperados 3, Mimimi have taken a firm step outside their comfort zone with the high seas island-hopping of Shadow Gambit, offering up an altogether different approach to their tried and tested stealth antics. As you might have guessed from the name, its eponymous crew aren't bound by the laws of reality in this latest tactical outing, and their extensive suite of magic abilities really open up the playing field for some creative takedowns. But the canvas on which you're painting these elaborate murders has morphed since the days of Desperados 3, with its handful of islands now offering multiple points of entry, a myriad of different missions and objectives and - for the first time ever - repeat visits to the same locations. It's quite the sea change from Mimimi's previous work, but rest assured: the crown jewels of the Mimimi stealth strategy experience certainly haven't been lost to Davey Jones' locker in the process. If nothing else, this is the most fun I've had with a Mimimi game, period - and I cannot wait to dive back in properly when it launches on August 17th. |

Siliconera Monday, June 12, 2023 3:30 PM To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Black Jack, Tezuka Productions will use ChatGPT-4 to create a new chapter. It will appear in Weekly Shonen Champion in Fall 2023. It will be a "collaborative effort" between humans and AI. [Thanks, Famitsu and Manga Mogura RE!] This is not the first time that AI has been used for Osamu Tezuka's work. In 2020, Tezuka Productions penned a "new Osamu Tezuka manga," Paidon, using AI that learned from Tezuka's works. The way it worked was that the AI program came up with the plot and character designs, and then humans drew the illustrations. This method will be how Tezuka Productions will write the new Black Jack chapter. According to an interview between Famitsu and Tezuka Productions, Makoto Tezuka (partial owner of Tezuka Productions and son of Osamu Tezuka) said the AI program was still new with manga in 2020. Since AI technology has advanced so much in three years, Tezuka says it can now handle the more arduous task of creating a new Black Jack chapter. The difficulty comes from the sheer number of genres and chapters that Black Jack encompasses. But he believes that a new Black Jack chapter is what "a post-COVID world wants the most." Black Jack came out in the 1970s, focusing on the titular Black Jack. He is a very kind doctor who works for free. It was an episodic series with recurring characters but no particular plot. It spawned several adaptations, such as a live-action series and anime series, over the years. The new AI Black Jack chapter will appear in Weekly Shonen Champion in Fall 2023. In other AI news in Japan, the Agency of Cultural Affairs ruled that AI art would be subject to copyright infringement laws due to how the learning process might use copyrighted works. Siliconera Monday, June 12, 2023 3:00 PM There aren't many games like Katamari Damacy. Keita Takahashi's fever dream series about rolling up everything on Earth was a breakout hit for Namco on the PS2, with its quirky premise and bold art style. The first game got a remaster in the form of Katamari Damacy Reroll back in 2018, and now it's time for We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie to join it. We Love Katamari originally released back in 2005, expanding on the original Katmari Damacy. If you're unaware of the concept behind the series, you play as The Prince of All Cosmos as he pushes a giant ball called a Katamari around. By rolling over items in the environment, they become part of the Katamari's mass, allowing it to roll up even larger items. In the first game, The Prince had to roll Katamaris so his father, The King of All Cosmos, could replace the stars that he mistakenly destroyed in a drunken rampage. In We Love Katamari, the people of Earth were so enamored with the concept of Katamari Damacy that now they're calling on The King to fulfill their Katamari-related requests. It's utterly strange in every way, but that's the charm of We Love Katamari. It's a bright, colorful world of joy and silliness that must be rolled into gigantic balls to meet the whims of your fans. Rolling up a gingerbread house for fans with a sweet tooth. Rolling a sumo wrestler over food items to bulk him up to defeat an opponent. Using a Katamari to make friends (by rolling them up). It's all here, up to and including rolling up a Katamari big enough to capture the sun just because a dog asked you to. [caption id="attachment_967139" align="alignnone" width="1200"] Screenshot by Siliconera[/caption] We Love Katamari Reroll is a straight remaster of the original, for the most part. The gameplay is still the same as it always was, and nothing has changed about level layouts or challenges. Most of the more noticeable changes are in the Select Plaza, an area where fans gather and call out requests. The Prince can wander this area and talk to fans to start their levels. The area also features special locations for saving, options, viewing your item collection and viewing cutscenes. It's a charming feature that could have easily been a basic menu. However, it could sometimes be slow and cumbersome, and the remaster has rectified this in several ways. For a start, The Prince now moves faster, meaning that his dash is extra speedy too. There's a pause menu where you can easily access things like options instantly. There's also a separate menu listing all the fan requests in case you can't remember where a specific person is. These new features speed up navigation significantly and feel like they should have always been there. Oh, and you can now make The Prince skip merrily through the Plaza. It's useless but, more importantly, very cute. [caption id="attachment_967140" align="alignnone" width="1200"] Screenshot by Siliconera[/caption] The rest of We Love Katamari is, happily, still just as enjoyable as it was on the PS2. The gameplay is simple, controlled almost entirely by the two analog sticks in a quirky tank control setup. It can be a little clunky at times, but this feels deliberate. The Katamari is a wonky, slippery ball covered in assorted household items (and pets), so it's not supposed to handle that well! However, the simple control scheme makes it easy to pick up and contributes to its general addictiveness. With very few controls to worry about, you can focus on the task at hand, which is weirdly relaxing at times. There's something extremely satisfying about seeing your colossal orb grow bigger or hearing a chorus of pick-up noises as you run over a cluster of items. The simple joy of the gameplay is enhanced by the presentation. The game has a stylised cartoony visual style that allows the game to go to some goofy places. Every level is full of little silly events, such as a race where F1 cars are going up against people on horseback, or a group of fish watching TV underwater. It's a game that revels in its own weirdness. The silliness extends to the writing, which mostly features a self-absorbed King accepting any request that comes with a mild compliment and forgetting that he even sent you to roll a Katamari in the first place. Despite this, he still feels the need to mercilessly roast every Katamari you present to him. I'm doing my best, okay! [caption id="attachment_967141" align="alignnone" width="1200"] Screenshot by Siliconera[/caption] The presentation has only been marginally enhanced by the remaster. The visual style is already striking enough to work as is, but there is a nice HD sheen and a faster framerate now, which is nice. Loading times are also improved, although this does effectively kill off the Easter eggs that showed up in the loading screens, which is a shame. A more significant improvement is a quality-of-life change to gameplay. In levels where you have a specific objective – light a bonfire, defeat a sumo, etc. – there is now a handy compass that directs you to that goal in the final minute of your time. We Love Katamari is chaotic so it's easy to lose your sense of direction, especially since you rolled up most of the significant landmarks. So this new compass is a really nice addition that reduces some of the frustration. [caption id="attachment_967143" align="alignnone" width="1200"] Screenshot by Siliconera[/caption] Where the remaster is a bit of a letdown is in the new content. In the main game, you can unlock a series of cutscenes about The King's childhood. In the Royal Reverie portion of this remaster, you can play as The King in these flashback moments. At least, in theory you can. In practice, these new levels are simply remixed versions of existing levels. What's worse is that the new objectives never feel as inventive as the main levels. If I'm honest, they have the feeling of user generated content, as if there's some "Make Your Own Katamari Level" mode I'm unaware of. They're not bad levels, but certainly don't have the polish of anything cooked up by the main team. For something that Bandai Namco felt important enough to put in the title of the game, this portion feels phoned in. This does not dampen the overall experience though. We Love Katamari is one of the most inventive and charming games ever made. It took the already great concept of Katamari Damacy and expanded on it to become the best game in the series. And despite being 18 years old, it holds up incredibly well, and can now be finally enjoyed by a new generation. Everyone who needs some joy in their life is required to play We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie. It may be the bare minimum for a remaster, but it's hard to deny how much we still love Katamari. We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie is available now for the PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Siliconera Monday, June 12, 2023 2:40 PM Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora finally got a release date during the Ubisoft Forward 2023 conference. Following its delay in 2022, the first-person adventure spin-off will launch on December 7, 2023. Major gameplay details about the Massive Entertainment title were also revealed in a lengthy trailer that showcased the game's characters and world. The release date trailer specifically previewed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora's massive open-world map, which has multiple biomes to explore and tribes to obtain quests from. Ubisoft also gave us a first look at the game's combat, which will allow players to choose between human and Na'vi-style weapons and powers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=difL_diHo2o
The first-person adventure game is a spin-off of the popular 2009 film Avatar directed by James Cameron. In the game you will play as a Na'vi protagonist who has been abducted by humans as a child. The story campaign will center around re-discovering Pandora as an adult and having your character connect with their lost heritage. Ubisoft is offering up DLC for those who pre-order Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora before its Winter release. The bonus content includes the Child of Two Worlds Pack, which features a cosmetic set for your character, as well as a rare weapon skin. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is releasing on the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X on December 7, 2023. Siliconera Monday, June 12, 2023 2:30 PM Soulcalibur V will be delisted, Bandai Namco announced. The game will no longer be available through digital storefronts for either the PS3 or Xbox 360 as of June 19, 2023. This will also include all associated DLC. Here's Bandai Namco's official announcement. While Soulcalibur V is being delisted, it's likely that the game and all the DLC will remain available to download for those of us who have already purchased it. This means that anyone wishing to own it should buy it between now and June 19, 2023. Players who own the disc-based physical version will also continue to be able to play the game as usual. However, online play is likely be shut down. The Global Colosseum mode had previously been closed prior to the release of Soulcalibur VI, although other modes had remained available until now. Soulcalibur V released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2012. While it had remained active since its release, its delisting now is likely due to its age and it only being available on older systems. Soulcalibur VI was released in 2018 and has since passed 2 million sales. It will remain available. Soulcalibur V is currently available for the PS3 and Xbox 360 but will be delisted on June 19, 2023. Soulcalibur VI is available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Siliconera Monday, June 12, 2023 2:16 PM At Ubisoft Forward 2023, the company revealed a Jet Set Radio Roller Champions event. On June 27, 2023, familiar characters and places inspired by the series will appear. The announcement didn't explain how different elements will be earned. After showing both skating and using some familiar moves, the location was highlighted. When the event begins, people can head to Tokyo-to Skatepark in Roller Champions. Siliconera Monday, June 12, 2023 2:00 PM A manga serialization for Master Detective Archives: Rain Code will start from June 30, 2023. That is the same date as the game's release. It will appear in Weekly CoroCoro Comics, with Pageratta as the illustrator. It's unclear if the serialization will cover events from the entire game. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!] Pageratta is an artist who previously worked on series like 8LDK: Shisha no Ou and My Little Sister Split Apart. They also upload art onto Pixiv. It seems like Pageratta is only in charge of the illustrations. As mentioned earlier, it's unclear at this point how far into the game the manga will cover. If Master Detective Archives: Rain Code is similar to the Danganronpa series, then there might be some twists in the story that might spoil the experience of the game. Master Detective Archives: Rain Code is an upcoming adventure video game by Too Kyo Games and Spike Chunsoft featuring the main creative team behind the Danganronpa series. It focuses on amnesiac trainee detective Yuma, who is being haunted by a spirit named Shinigami. He is part of the World Detective Organization, and Master Detectives who are part of the agency can use special powers like clairvoyance to solve crimes. Master Detective Archives: Rain Code will come out on June 30, 2023 for the Nintendo Switch. The manga for Rain Code will also start serialization on that date in Weekly CoroCoro Comics. Siliconera Monday, June 12, 2023 1:30 PM A new Genshin Impact event called Feast of the Departed Warriors is about to begin. On June 14, 2023, it will launch in-game. To help us prepare, HoYoVerse shared details about participation requirements. It also showed the six different kinds of rewards we can get for taking part. First, to take part you need to have hit Adventure Rank 30 in Genshin Impact. You also need to have finished all three acts of the Mondstadt Prologue Archon Quests. As long as you passed "Song of the Dragon and Freedom," you'll be fine. As for the Genshin Impact Feast of the Departed Warriors event itself, it is a series of battle Domain challenges. You'll choose how difficult it is and attempt to earn certain tiers of points to earn rewards. There will apparently be four different stages to go through. However, based on HoYoVerse's description, it seems only one will be available on June 14, 2023. Additional ones will appear on June 16, 2023, June 18, 2023, and June 20, 2023. The rewards include some typical items. You'll get Primogems and Mora for taking part. Mystic Enhancement Ores and Hero's Wit books will appear too. The Guide to Freedom icon showed up on the official site, indicating that Character Talent Material can be earned too. The Artifact Enhancement Material Sanctifying Unction will be one kind of thing you can get too. Genshin Impact is available on the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the Feast of the Departed Warriors event runs June 14-26, 2023. One of the last major events was Duel: The Summoner's Summit. Siliconera Monday, June 12, 2023 10:30 AM In an interview with Famitsu, the development team behind Persona 3 Reload confirmed that the remake will focus on the base version of the game title. This means that there will be no content like the feMC from Persona 3 Portable, and we won't see The Answer from FES in the Reload remake. However, there will be some elements of FES in the main story. [Thanks, Famitsu!] The main focus of the remake is to let players experience Persona 3 with Persona 5-like graphics and gameplay. So there are very few changes to the story or the characterization. However, there will be new side stories focusing on the SEES members. These will be separate from Social Links and will focus more on what certain characters were doing in scenes where you couldn't see them. Ryouta Niizuma, who is the producer for the game, made it clear that the Persona 3 Reload will not be a remake of FES or Portable. Here is a translation of what he said in the interview:
FES added new Personas, dorm videos, walks with Koromaru, a new Chidori event, and the Aeon Arcana Social Link. That's Aigis's Social Link. We will have to wait for more information from Atlus to see what FES content will be retained in Reload. Persona 3 Reload will come out on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC in early 2024. Other platforms haven't been confirmed yet. The post Persona 3 Reload Won't Have The Answer or FeMC, Has Some FES Content appeared first on Siliconera. |

PC Invasion - FeedDDD Monday, June 12, 2023 3:56 PM The Druid class in Diablo 4 has a high degree of customization, in terms of the builds you can create. Whether you're making a build around storms or beasts, there's so much room to work within this class. But no matter the build you make, you may not be strong enough to take on the minions on Lilth. This is where Aspects come into play, they make the build better by enhancing certain traits. Aspects can be found by either doing dungeons or by extracting them from Legendary weapons.
