Stunning turn-based strategy game feels like the return of FF Tactics

Everyone has a favorite Final Fantasy game, but some of the most vociferous defenders of their chosen champion are the Final Fantasy Tactics fans. And with good reason; theirs is certainly one of the finest in the long-running RPG series, yet its isometric pixel art approach meant it was overlooked by many at the time in favor of the bolder FF7. Now, one of the best strategy games has a spiritual successor in Sword of Convallaria, a stunning new Steam game that's set to launch this summer.

Final Fantasy and classic sci-fi meets in new RPG with free Steam demo

A kind of story which seems to have disappeared from movie theaters in recent years is kids getting whisked up into space to have wild adventures. Flight of the Navigator, The Last Starfighter, even Star Wars to an extent follows this kind of trope and these days they just don't happen as much. Thankfully Beyond Galaxyland is here to fix that, paying homage to these classic sci-fi stories with lashings of adventure RPG goodness on top.

star rail divergent universe

HoYoVerse has given more information on Divergent Universe, which will be a new kind of Simulated Universe-like endgame content in Honkai: Star Rail. In order to access it, you'll need to clear Simulated Universe: World 3 first.

This will be a permanent game mode after Version 2.3. Prizes will include the usual, such as Stellar Jades, Tracks of Destiny, and Self-Modeling Resin. You'll also be able to get tickets to use in the Herta Store. Divergent Universe will play like ordinary Simulated Universe. However, aside from the usual challenge mode, there will be new, limited-time modes that'll refresh every week.

Divergent Universe will also feature two new mechanics: Equations and Weighted Curios. Equations are upgraded Blessings, but you have to meet the requirements before they can activate. Weighted Curios are rarer than normal Curios but they have more potent effects. Collecting these can allow you to get rewards. Unlike in the normal Simulated Universe, you'll be able to switch your characters and party on the fly. This, along with buffs from the Arithmetic Mapping System, can allow you to bring in characters even if they're not ready yet for the difficulty level.

Finally, you'll be able to encounter Ruan Mei's Creations and use them to reset your Blessings. You can also save your completion file for each run and load them up in Boss Challenges. You'll also be able to bring in support characters, which was something you couldn't do before in Simulated Universe. Boss Challenges are good for players who just want to farm for Planar Ornaments.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Divergent Universe will appear in Honkai: Star Rail in Version 2.3, which will go live on June 19, 2024.

lollipop chainsaw repop

As promised earlier in June 2024, the first trailer for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is out, revealing that the game's release date falls on September 25, 2024. The trailer is almost two and a half minutes long.

You can watch the trailer for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iacKQtesXlQ

There will be two different modes. The Original Mode uses the effects from the original game. Meanwhile, RePOP mode has less violence and pop-art damage effects. The trailer uses RePOP mode, so you can see what it looks like in action. It starts out with footage that looks like a stereotypical zombie horror before revealing Juliet in her cheerleader outfit and holding her chainsaw. It shows some of the combos she can pull off in battle before shifting the spotlight to the other characters who appear in the story.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is a remaster of the original game, which came out in 2012. Suda51 and James Gunn did not return to work on it. Though it was originally supposed to be a remake, Dragami Games pivoted it to a remaster after fans requested it. The story follows Juliet Starling, who is a cheerleader and zombie hunter. After zombies attack her school and her boyfriend dies protecting her, she revives him and turns him into a head that she wears around her belt. She then goes on to kill all of the zombies in the school and take down the culprits behind the outbreak.

The Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP release date is now September 25, 2024 for the PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam.

anycolor nijisanji en

In a follow-up Q&A with Anycolor after its financial report, Tazumi received a question wondering what he and the company plans on doing to help Nijisanji EN recover. Tazumi notes that most of the plans for the company's growth in the coming quarter are centered on Nijisanji JP.

An investor asked when Tazumi expected sales for Nijisanji EN to bottom out, as its sales have been decreasing for a while now. Tazumi explained that a lot of the content Anycolor has planned for the future are for Nijisanji JP. He did not include any data in regards for Nijisanji EN's growth in the report or announced plans.

However, that doesn't mean Nijisanji EN will be left to flounder. Tazumi stated that there will be a lot of content for VTuber fans to see. There will be new 3D outfits, as well as tournaments on a regular basis. He believes that continuously providing interesting content is the set way to cement the fans' trust in the company. This statement lines up with Tazumi's previous comments about how he plans on improving Nijisanji EN's reputation and treatment.

This reply comes after the initial financial report, in which numbers for Nijisanji EN this year were down compared to last year. Though the report did not mention any particular reasons as to why, Nijisanji EN suffered in terms of popularity as a result of multiple incidents culminating in Selen Tatsuki's termination from the company.

You can read the entire Q&A here.

nahobino figure shin megami tensei v

A Formism figure of the Nahobino from Shin Megami Tensei V is available on the Square Enix store. You'll be able to remove the sword in the right hand if you wish.

The North American store also has the Nahobino figure for pre-order. It costs $54.99 and will come out some time in January 2025. On the Japan Square Enix store, it costs 6050 JPY and will come out a bit earlier. You'll be able to get it from November 11, 2024.

The Formism Shin Megami Tensei V Nahobino figure stands at around 7.48 inches tall. As mentioned earlier, you can remove the sword, which will let you pose the figure in many more ways. There is a metallic paint over the figure, which gives it a glow when you put it under light.

In Shin Megami Tensei V, the Nahobino is the main protagonist of the store. He's an ordinary high school student in Tokyo who awakens to the power of the Nahobino after he finds himself in Da'at. Like most other protagonists from the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series, the Nahobino is a silent protagonist whose choices and thoughts can be determined by the player.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance will come out on June 14, 2024 for the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. You can read our review of it here.

Genshin Impact Cloud Version Open Beta Begins, Costs Money to Play

HoYoVerse announced that the Genshin Impact Cloud version open beta is now open in the US and Canada. However, while it is free to download on a PC, iOS device, or Android device, someone will need to pay real money to keep playing.

The idea behind this version of Genshin Impact is that you can play on any PC or mobile device without any additional downloads. Progress is carried over, once you log into it. However, in order to keep playing, you need to either purchase a 30-day Cloud Pass to have unlimited access or Cloud Coins to play for certain amounts of minutes.

A free trial is in effect for the Genshin Impact Cloud version. However, it is limited. When you log in for the first time, the five-hour (300 minute) free trial is automatically credited to your account. You can also get 15 free minutes every day that you log in. However, the total amount of free time you can get is 600 minutes. After you hit that limit, you must always pay for access.

If someone buys a Cloud Pass for Genshin Impact, it costs $19.99, while Cloud Coins are available in various bundles. The smallest Cloud Coin bundle gives you 1,800 for $1.99. The game costs 10 Cloud Coins per minute to play. So that bundle gives you three hours worth of game time. The largest bundle is 14,000 Cloud Coins for $14.99, which is just over 23 hours worth of time.

Genshin Impact is available on the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. The Cloud version is in its beta phase in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and the United States.
