PCGamesN Monday, June 16, 2025 11:35 AM If you're looking for the best Valorant settings to help you dominate the server and start popping off for multi-kills with your favorite agent, we have you covered. As a competitive shooter, Valorant doesn't place a huge emphasis on graphical fidelity, but gives you enough options to make the game's vibrant color palette really pop. However, there's more nuance to finding the best Valorant settings than simply whacking the game's various graphics options as low as possible and calling it a day, even if the Valorant system requirements are low. In fact, doing just that may inhibit your ability to read the game's environments thanks to murky textures and distractingly blurred edges, even if you have the best graphics card. With that in mind, we've put together the best Valorant settings that prioritize frames per second without sacrificing the look of the game's visuals too much. AMD FSR, Nvidia DLSS, and Intel XeSS are all absent from the options menu, but Nvidia Reflex is available and can lower your system latency if you're running a Nvidia GeForce GTX 900 series graphics card or newer. PCGamesN Monday, June 16, 2025 11:31 AM What's the first thing you think of when you think of Runescape? For me, it's crafting. One of the core pillars of the long-running MMORPG's gameplay, its easy to while away the hours blowing glass in Entrana, or putting hammer to anvil to create various different armor sets and weaponry. Until now, however, players could only raise their crafting skills to level 99 which, while an intimidating number for newer players, is nothing if you've been playing since launch. But, with the newest update, aptly entitled 110 Crafting, you can finally raise your level to 110, and try out a brand new skilling style. PCGamesN Monday, June 16, 2025 11:00 AM It feels like, of all the roles in League of Legends, ADC is the most variable. Sometimes you're absolutely unstoppable, critting all over the place and one-shotting squishies, while simultaneously shredding armor. Then, the next game over, you're getting obliterated by assassins and coming up against brick wall-like tanks. Modern ADCs have sought to change up the role, with the likes of Smolder focusing on abilities and scaling, while monsters like Aphelios require more brain power than I can muster. New champion Yunara is throwing all of those distractions to the wind, focusing entirely on autoattacking, critting, perfect spacing, and taking names. PCGamesN Monday, June 16, 2025 10:44 AM One of the greatest games I ever played was a mod. It was called Elements of Style, and while it used Max Payne 2 as a base, it introduced new gun effects, let you do cartwheels and backflips, and even had its own soundtrack, essentially turning Remedy's shooter into a considerably more violent version of The Matrix. I still play Brutal Doom. Deus Ex is better with GMDX. If we're getting nostalgic, Counter-Strike started as a mod for Half-Life - and oh, do I long for the days of Zombie Panic and The Hidden. Essentially, mods and PC gaming are synonymous; without one, there is no other. The Razer Blackwidow V4 75% remains on our best gaming keyboard list thanks to its brilliant performance, easy key-switch design, and sound dampening. The only sore point for us was the keyboard's original price, particularly because you were almost encouraged to swap out the switches for some of your own, and the keyboard's customizability was such a highlight. End Of Abyss, you see, takes place in an underground plate-metal labyrinth where every corner is a huddle of waiting shadows, every doorway a mystery, and every ventilation fan a web of fungal grot. HoYoVerse shared some of the 3.4 Honkai: Star Rail updates we'll see ahead of the update, noting a story dialogue skip option will appear and that Enhanced Mode versions of Blade, Jingliu, Kafka, and Silver Wolf will be enabled. More details about it will come up in the 3.4 Special Program at 4:30am PT/7:30am ET/1:30pm CET on June 20, 2025, which will also cover Phainon and the Fate/stay Night crossover.
In the case of the story skip option in Honkai: Star Rail, it will involve dialogue skipping and summaries about what would have been said. These two features work together to more quickly go over the campaign missions. Dialogue Skip will break things into paragraphs. Then, after that, a Story Summary will show the main characters who appeared and a brief paragraph explaining what happened. In 3.6, Story Recap will appear and let people see cutscenes from past Trailblaze Mission, Trailblaze Continuance, and Companion Mission quests.
HoYoVerse shared two images teasing the button in a story segment that can be pressed to skip and showing what a Story Summary looks like.

As for the Honkai: Star Rail Blade, Jingliu, Kafka, and Silver Wolf character enhancements, HoYoVerse will share the enhanced mode options for each one. People who own those units will then be able to choose which version they actually use in-game. This affects their movesets, traces, and Eidolons. Only Silver Wolf's changes were mentioned in the announcement, however. Her Skill will make the first character in your lineup, which say could be your DPS, be the one whose weakness is implanted with Allow Changes. Her User Banned Ultimate would deal damage and lower the defense of every enemy, rather than just one.
Honkai: Star Rail is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 3.4 Special Program will air at 4:30am PT/7:30am ET/1:30pm CET on June 20, 2025.

Cygames announced on social media that it intends to issue updates and add events, characters, and quality of life features at a faster pace to the English, global version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby to get it up to par with the Japanese release. Some elements that will be available right away are crossplay, a Jukebox, and landscape mode races, and Guided Career will appear sometime after.
Some of these elements are self-explanatory. Crossplay means you can use your account in the PC or mobile version of the game at launch. The Jukebox is a music player feature. Once selected, you can hear all of the horse girls' songs outside of special situations. While originally the perspective for races featured a portrait mode look, at launch we can see it in landscape on both PCs and mobile devices.
As for Guided Career, that's a way to play the Career mode that makes it a bit faster, as it essentially enables an auto-play feature that handles training for you. Normally, how it works is we would choose one of the scenarios and a character. We then would need to go through this training storyline and manage the characters to ensure they complete it successfully. Once one finishes, you can use them in other modes. This feature debuted after the fourth anniversary in the Japanese version in early 2025.
Finally, the schedule will be accelerated. All banners for Umamusume: Pretty Derby characters and events will come up at a faster pace, but each one will last as long as it normally would. This will happen until it catches up with the Japanese release.
We'll learn more about Umamusume: Pretty Derby and the English version at Anime Expo 2025. Cygames will have a booth at the July 3-6, 2025 event. It will also offer a showing of the movie Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Beginning of a New Era there. We also already know that every new player gets 30 Goddess Statues, 45 Alarm Clocks, 45 Toughness 30s, 3,750 Carats, 50,000 Support Points, and 100,000 Monies.
In the meantime, a number of new trailers appeared for characters. First, here's Symboli Rudolf.
Rice Shower ended up being featured after that.
She was followed by Haru Urara.
After that, we got to meet Air Groove.
Winning Ticket's trailer showed up a few days ago.
Finally, we got to see Oguri Cap ahead of the weekend.
The Umamusume: Pretty Derby English release date is June 26, 2025, and we'll be able to preregister for the global version of the game on the PC via Steam and Android and iOS mobile devices on April 28, 2025. It is already available in Asia. The new Umamusume: Cinderella Gray anime is on Amazon, and other anime adaptations are on Crunchyroll.

Jankara has launched a new collaboration campaign featuring Capcom's Street Fighter 6. The Japanese karaoke outlet chain opens karaoke rooms temporarily themed after the game while offering character stickers with specific meal purchases.
The special rooms feature Street Fighter 6 posters and stickers plastered all over the walls. The tables also feature stage art from the fighting game. Each person who has used the rooms can also receive a card sleeve modeled after the Buckler's Boot Camp Training Course ID Card from the actual game. These rooms are exclusively available in the chain's 13 outlets: six in Osaka, two in Kyoto, and one each in Sapporo, Nagoya, Kobe, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka.
In addition, Jankara is offering random stickers featuring ten Street Fighter 6 characters singing. The illustrations are drawn by Kangyaku. The same artist also drew the You've Got This, Juri! manga series and prior Street Fighter crossover products, such as the Clear Men shampoo bottles.
These stickers are available by purchasing one of the following five meals priced at 1,300 yen (~$9): Deep-fried meat udon, Tartare yangnyeom chicken don, Margherita pizza, Juicy chicken karaage, and Sweet potato churros. Jankara will make these stickers obtainable in more outlets besides the above 13.

A Nintendo Direct will appear this week, but this June 2025 showcase will only focus on the upcoming Switch 2 game Donkey Kong Bananza. It will air at 6am PT/9am ET/3pm CET on June 18, 2025. This is the upcoming platformer and adventure that sends Donkey Kong into environments where some areas are able to be completely destroyed.
Since this Nintendo Direct only focuses on Donkey Kong Bananza, it will be relatively short. It lasts 15 minutes. The entirety will focus on gameplay, characters, and its story as Donkey Kong faces VoidCo and its employees. We might also learn more about Odd Rock, his sidekick with special abilities in this entry.
Here's the placeholder for the showcase:
The last single-game presentation focused on Mario Kart World. That focused on gameplay as well for 15 minutes.
As with some of the other recent Switch 2 games, Donkey Kong Bananza will be more expensive than some other titles. It will cost $69.99 when it debuts. That's the same price as Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition on the system. Meanwhile, the other first-party release from the company so far is Mario Kart World, and that's $79.99.
The Donkey Kong Bananza Nintendo Direct will air at 6am PT/9am ET/3pm CET on June 18, 2025, just about a month before the Switch 2 game's July 17, 2025 debut.

The Switch is my favorite console. I've spent so many hours with it. I invested in the 1TB memory card. I buy physical copies for it. I put off even considering a handheld gaming PC for so long because it covered all my needs. When I first got to experience the Switch 2 at a Nintendo event, it felt like an expected type of upgrade. You know, what comes after the OLED? A stronger version of what we already know works. After almost two weeks with Nintendo's next endeavor, I think it is wonderful. I just wish the battery lasted longer.
As the "2" in the name suggests, Nintendo built upon the foundation of the Switch for the Switch 2, just like the Super Nintendo did for the original NES and Wii U did for the Wii. This means going in that we know exactly what to expect from the console. It's a hybrid system, just like the one that debuted back in March 2017. This means you can pop it into a dock to use it on a TV, or pick it up to play in Handheld or Tabletop mode. The controllers can be detached from the sides of the system to be used as one controller or as a set, and it's also possible to pick up a Pro Controller variant that more closely resembles, say, the PS4 DualShock or PS5 DualSense. The major selling point is that ability to seamlessly switch between gaming experiences at home or on the go, untethered. Since this is now the four type of system Nintendo made like this, since the Switch had standard, Lite, and OLED models, it works flawlessly in any of these phases and forms.
To start, the Switch 2 is wonderful when it comes to working in TV, Tabletop, or Handheld modes. Depending on the TV or display you're using, mode you are in, and game you are playing there will be limitations. So in handheld mode, you are only going to be able to hit 1080p. This is a marked improvement from the original, which maxed out at 720p. You could also get to 120 framerate, depending on the game and situation. On the first system, it'd be about 60fps at best? If you have a compatible 4K TV, you can get that resolution when docked, but then you cap out at 60fps. Which honestly, for our purposes, I think is fine. Especially since other resolutions in TV mode are set, you could get up to 120fps in certain situations.
There isn't an OLED screen this time around, but I honestly didn't experience too much of a difference when comparing my Switch 2 to my OLED model's appearance. (And it looked dramatically better than an original Switch's screen.) In TV mode you can enable HDR support for both new games and ones with updates, such as Super Mario Odyssey. I did test that out with that game, and it especially looked fantastic given that's such a vibrant title. The brightness is quite wonderful, with the automatic sensors doing a good job of adjusting to meet the lighting around you if you enable that. Also, the bigger screen felt like more of an upgrade than I expected.

I also love how the Switch 2 Joy-Con 2 controllers work. Now, my first 48-hours with the console, I did initially find them uncomfortable. That's because I was used to the size and shape of the original Joy-Cons. I've adapted a bit more since and, while they are a bit thin, they're fine. They're quite responsive so far after almost two weeks. More importantly, the magnetic connections are a godsend. With both my launch Switch and OLED model, I noticed after a few years that the Joy-Cons sometimes felt a bit wobbly when connected to the device. Like even though I knew they were securely fastened, I could feel a bit of give. That is not an issue here. The magnets are great. The grip is secure. Pressing a button makes detaching them effortless. Reattaching is easy. It's just fantastic.
The mouse functionality of the Joy-Con 2 controllers is also really great! I've been using it in games like Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma and Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster, as well as the Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour tech demos. Also, I only once used it on a coffee table, in a situation where it'd be like a professional, prepared moment. Otherwise, I'm just running them along my legs or a couch cushion. It still senses everything accurately and is great! I just hope we see companies use the feature wisely in games.
![]()
My initial impressions of the new kickstand for Tabletop mode were also mistaken. When I first saw the system at a Nintendo preview event, I worried about stability due to the redesign. While there is that open space and gap now, I think it's more secure than the launch model and offers more stability and range than the OLED release. There's a tightness there that makes it easy to get into a fixed position that suits me and, since I love using the Pro Controller 2 for Mario Kart World, I find myself propping it up on a coffee table or edge of the bed and using that controller to play instead of going with handheld mode. I am a little worried about the positioning of the microSD Express card on the system. The slot for it is at the end of the system just under the stand, and I appreciated how placement on the OLED that put it in a bit to protect it from being accidentally ejected. However, it is in a similar kind of position as the original Switch and I never had an issue with that model, so I'm sure it is fine.
![]()
![]()
That does bring me to my main issue with the Switch 2, which is its battery. The life of it is really bad. I tried it under a number of conditions over about 12 days. For one charge, I only played original Switch games like Fuga 3 and Red Bell's Lament. It seemed a little better during those sessions, and I do think I managed to spend about six hours with the otome game. During a few others, I played Switch 2 games I'd consider a little less "demanding," like Deltarune and Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster. The system faired a bit better with those, and I'd say maybe I'd get around four or more hours. For two sessions, which went incredibly quickly, I played Cyberpunk 2077 and Yakuza 0: Director's Cut. In both of those instances, I think I only managed about three hours. With Mario Kart World, things varied more depending on if I was playing online, if I used GameChat, or if I stayed offline and played alone. And yes, I tried the Switch 2 battery charge indicator fix, and it's still an issue.
By the way, GameChat works better than I expected? I haven't spent as much time experimenting with the camera to come to a definitive judgment on that peripheral yet. However actually tapping a button to talk with folks? It's pretty good! I do tend to normally use Discord for calls when gaming. But when I've been playing with folks on the Switch 2, I did exclusively use GameChat during this period and enjoyed it. I think I would keep going with it as the default for these sorts of sessions too, as it works that well.
![]()
It's one of many kinds of quality of life adjustments I appreciate with the Switch 2. The way in which screenshots and videos can automatically be uploaded to the Nintendo Switch app is another. That's great! I use it tons for work already, and I've been using it for sharing fun images with friends online as well. The group system is easier to organize and sort, which is a blessing since I do use that for getting multiplayer games in the same spot for easier online experiences. I really love having the option to charge the system from the top or bottom, and it's great having a charger that doesn't have the brick permanently tied to it so I have other charging options. And yes, I noticed many of the Switch games I tested on it tend to universally work a little better on the Switch 2 even if they don't have upgrade packs or system specific patches. Even the gyroscope seemed a bit better when I tried using it with Splatoon 3 after the June 2025 update patch, and I always avoid those motion controls.
The Switch 2 is an absolute joy to play, thanks to improved power and quality of life adjustments, and my one wish is the battery lasted longer. Both the new games, ones with updates, and even original Switch titles run wonderfully on the system, ensuring we get a large library to draw from at launch. It's truly lovely in TV mode, especially if you have the right types of models to support certain features like 4K or HDR. I think it is even better in Handheld mode, thanks to the improved screen resolution and frame rate capabilities. I'm pretty confident that it'll prove as invaluable and essential to my gaming life as the original Switch did for the last eight years.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is available worldwide.

Gold Bottle Caps are a new one-time use item in Pokémon Go that can increase the stats of a chosen Pokémon. They are a limited item and hardly available in vast quantities, so choosing the Pokémon you want to upgrade the stats of is vital to making the most of the item.
But how do they work? And how do you get more?
Table of contents
What are Gold Bottle Caps in Pokémon Go?
Gold Bottle Caps are new items related to Hyper Trainer, which, when used, allow you to boost the stats of your Pokémon. You can only use a Gold Bottle Cap once on a singular Pokémon, and the Pokémon needs to be a Good Buddy or higher to be used.
You can select the Gold Bottle Cap from your inventory, and upon selecting which stats you would like to train, it is used. Once given, it's time to start Hyper Training! You will need to complete various tasks themed to the stat you choose to increase the Pokémon's stats to max. These include:
Once you use a Gold Bottle Cap, you have 365 days to complete your Hyper Training tasks to max out that stat.
How do you get Gold Bottle Caps in Pokémon Go?
Gold Bottle Caps are extremely rare, and currently the only way to get one is to earn it in the new GO Pass Deluxe: Ancients Recovered event from June 23 to 29. You need to have the paid pass to get the Gold Bottle Cap.
Gold Bottle Caps will also expire after a set period, with the first one expiring on July 6. So you can't hold onto them and use them at a later date. You can only increase one statistic as well, which feels pretty harsh considering trainers might need to unlock multiple stats to get a hundo.
Scopely has currently not confirmed when the next Gold Bottle Cap will be available, or if they will be purchaseable in the future. So all we can do is wait for them to announce further releases in later events.

One of the most important events you'll find in Monopoly GO is Golden Blitz. Since you can't trade gold stickers outside of this event, it's a rare opportunity to obtain specific cards during brief 24-hour periods before they become restricted to card packs and Wild Stickers again.
It's also rare for Golden Blitz events to repeat past cards, meaning you might miss out on one you need if you're not online during a specific time. Let's check out every past Golden Blitz sticker during the Star Wars season to determine whether you'll still get an opportunity to trade a particular card.
Updated June 16, 2025: Added information about the latest Star Wars GO season's Golden Blitz events.
All past Golden Blitz stickers in Monopoly GO
Since Monopoly GO's Star Wars GO Season began on May 1, we have had four opportunities to explore Golden Blitz, with the latest running between June 16 to June 17. Golden Blitz allows you to trade up to two different gold stickers with others. The rarities typically range from mid-tier four-star stickers to rare, high-value five-star ones that can give you thousands of dice if you complete their respective albums.
![]()
Since the season ends on July 2, we'll likely get at least one or two more Golden Blitz events. At the time of writing, there is no official word from Scopely on how many we'll encounter throughout the season. With that in mind, here's the complete list of Golden Blitz events from this season, including the stickers involved, their rarities, and the start and end dates.
Since we've experienced five Golden Blitz events with the Star Wars GO season so far, we can start gauging what its pattern looks like. There was a several-week delay from the season's start to the first Golden Blitz, with follow-up events being weekly. We've had plenty of chances to trade some gold cards, with more arriving between now and the season's end.
The previous season, Movie Night, followed a bi-weekly pattern before unveiling a surprise finale shortly before the season's end. Let's also look at Golden Blitz events from the previous season to get an idea of what future ones, including Star Wars GO, might look like:
Scopely surprised us during Movie Night by releasing another shorter season with a surprise Golden Blitz event near its end. While this has been a trend for some time, there have been seasons in the past where we were lucky to see more than two in one month unless it was in the season's second half.
There's no word on when the next Golden Blitz will start, especially as we approach the season's end. We anticipate the next Golden Blitz sometime within the last week of June, but only time will tell how its end unfolds.

REMATCH has many ways to score a goal, but bicycle kicks are amazing. Using them effectively will showcase your in-game skills and prowess to teammates and opponents alike.
Bicycle kicks are one of the many advanced features you'll master over time. However, knowing the controls well will help you better understand the basics. Once done, you'll slowly learn to master them and perform the overhead kicks effortlessly. Notably, these kicks are not easy to perform, and their chance of success in a PvP match will be low.
REMATCH Bicycle Kick controls explained
The Bicycle kick is a two-task job. First, you'll have to anticipate the ball's trajectory and call for the ball. Next, you must hit the shot right to land your kick.
![]()
You can only successfully hit a Bicycle kick if the ball hasn't reached your foot. Your best help is the green marker, which shows the anticipated path of the ball. There will be a small window before you receive the ball when you get the prompt to perform the kick.
That's all you have to do to perform the Bicycle kick. As stylish as it is, I don't like this option at this stage of the game. Many things can go wrong while trying to anticipate a pass, and performing it in PvP isn't the easiest of tasks.
If you still want to improve, I suggest trying it out on the REMATCH practice arena first. Try to master the timing of the shot, as the window of success is very small. Once you have mastered that aspect, focus on anticipating the ball's trajectory precisely.

GAMURS Group is expanding into the world of tabletop gaming with its brand-new site, Roll Initiative.
Launched on June 16, Roll Initiative is a website focused on tabletop games like the beloved Dungeons and Dragons, and many more besides. With the new site, founding editor Aidan O'Brien "hopes to build something that becomes another thread in the rich tapestry that is the online gaming space," as stated in Roll Initiative's official announcement.
Roll Initiative is a project built from pure passion for the hobby. "I fell in love with board games and wargaming when I first cracked open Hero Quest in 1989," O'Brien explains. "Ever since, I have spent countless hours forming incredible memories with my fellow gamers."
O'Brien also explained why he and GAMURS are making this big move now. "I truly believe that right now is one of the best times in the history of this industry. Starting in July, a new hero will be released every single month in Marvel Rivals. Because of this, the last new hero before the upcoming change, Ultron, may be the last one that gets as much focus as he has received.
Ultron released in Marvel Rivals just over two weeks ago on May 30, meaning players have had ample time to try out the new Strategist character. A flyer, burst-damage dealer, and powerful healer, he can do a little bit of it all.
![]()
Marvel Rivals gamers have been sharing their thoughts on their experiences with the murderbot, who's seemingly an MVP machine with his big damage output and passive healing capabilities, but he isn't the easiest character to play.
"He's got a low skill floor but high skill ceiling," one gamer said in a recent Reddit discussion. "Learning how to rotate your drone to maximize healing can be tough, especially against burst-y comps (since you need to weigh moving it to maximize the number of targets in the area as well as moving it onto wounded allies to heal them faster). His primary also requires good tracking because of the additional burst of damage at the end of the beam, so you need to be able to keep it on the target for the entire duration of the 'shot' for maximum damage."
I hated Ultron at first, but he definitely has a learning curve. Once mastered, he is quite deadly, but I also think he struggles as the second healer in a two-Strategist team composition, as all of his healing comes passively or in bursts.
His Ultimate feels decently balanced, but is strong when used defensively instead of offensively, which may be a hot take considering that it can do both at the same time. Because of all of these factors, there has been no shortage of opinions on how to use the hero and where he stands.
And so I ask you, dear reader and Marvel Rivals gamer, what do you think of Ultron so far?

REMATCH has a seamless matchmaking experience between casual and ranked play, but you can also juke it out with your buddies.
As long as your friends are on the same platform (let's say both of you play on PC), it's pretty easy to play together. You and your buddy must be in the same lobby before starting a match. You can make a full team of five with your friends or add strangers to your team. Let's look at how you can invite your friends and play together.
How to add friends in REMATCH
The first task is to add your friend to the game before you can play together. You'll notice that there's a Social tab at the top right of your screen (as shown in the screenshot below). This tab will show all your friends who can join your session and play together.
You can add your friends to the game who are already friends on the platform you're on. Simply put, add them as friends on your console (using either the PS app or the Xbox app), and they will appear on the Social tab. Similarly, PC users must add one another to their Steam accounts before playing together.
![]()
You might have guessed it, but this function is only available for players on the same platform. Whether the limitation gets upgraded in the future is a matter of speculation at this point. Hopefully, Sloclap will introduce a way to add friends manually.
You can also add random players as your friends. From the Social tab, select the recent section. It will show a list of players you have played with and against. You can send a friend request to any or all of them directly inside the game. Once they have accepted, they will show up on the Social tab.
How to invite friends to the same lobby in REMATCH
Once added, you can invite each other as long as both are online. All your online friends will show up separately in the Social tab (just like in the screenshot). Next, start a match and select the mode you want to play.
Do note that if you're jumping in to play Ranked, you must have access to the mode.

You can pursue nearly any job in BitLife if you possess the necessary qualifications and drive. Firefighting is one of many options you have, and although there are no cool minigames for dousing fires, it's still satisfying to know you're helping others in between age-ups.
Table of contents
How to become a Firefighter in BitLife
Becoming a Firefighter in BitLife requires graduating from secondary school and aging up until your character turns 18. From here, you'll unlock full-time jobs, where there's a chance you'll find a Probationary Firefighter position available.
The downside? The job list is mostly random. Although getting a degree or working other jobs filters the results slightly, someone fresh out of high school will have a completely random list. A firefighter position may not be available initially, requiring you to close and reopen the BitLife app or age up and recheck the list.

Several factors can also impact your chances of becoming a firefighter. If your character has a criminal record, they won't be able to apply for the job unless they emigrate to another country. If your only goal is to become a firefighter, don't commit any crimes within BitLife until after you secure the job.
Your character can also fail the follow-up interview they receive after applying. Although this is mostly luck-based, your safest bet is to go for professional answers and hope the interviewer is satisfied with your response. Otherwise, you'll have to search for another position and repeat the process until your character officially becomes a firefighter.
What does a Firefighter do in BitLife?
Like most jobs in BitLife, the firefighter position lacks unique features or minigames. It's mainly a means to generate an annual salary for your character, letting you purchase houses, cars, and various services to make your character's life more interesting.
That is, unless you're trying to complete BitLife's weekly challenges. Each week, new challenges appear with various objectives, with ones like the Anti-Hero, Master of the Elements, and Macho Man asking you to create characters who become firefighters. These events are only available for five days before being locked behind a Challenge Vault that requires a one-time purchase to unlock.
Alternatively, you can become a firefighter to earn a lot of money. Although probationary firefighters don't tend to make much at first, you can receive promotions to Lieutenant, Battalion Chief, or Fire Chief to turn this into a high-paying career. While it isn't the highest-paying job BitLife offers, your character can still be very comfortable after a few years of hard work.

Few games from my childhood dug their claws into my memory like Gex: Enter the Gecko. But as older consoles and games became increasingly more difficult to acquire, I thought Gex's edgy voice lines and eccentric level designs would forever stay as memories tucked deep in my psyche.
That was until I got my hands on a review copy of Limited Run Games' Gex Trilogy, a remastered version of all three games from the OG series: Gex (1995), Enter the Gecko (1998), and Deep Cover Gecko (1999).
The series follows a TV-surfing Gecko named Gex who likes to smack enemies with his tail, which he so lovingly (and frequently) refers to as "tail time." Although the franchise started as a 2D platformer, the sequels, Enter the Gecko and Deep Cover Gecko, granted players more freedom by adding an extra dimension. Each entry in the series hit shelves between 1995 and 1999, and the franchise as a whole is known for leaning heavily into pop culture and sociopolitical references from the decade.
The highlights of this remaster include new rewind and save features, improved controls, updated visuals for modern consoles, an achievement system, and wide-screen support. It runs through the Carbon Engine, what Limited Run Games describes as its "in-house, proprietary engine for bringing retro games to modern platforms through emulation." And "emulation" is the key here; Limited Games says the goal here was authenticity, so don't expect any major content additions or alternative gameplay approaches.
With that in mind, the Gex Trilogy masterfully maintains the charm, '90s humor, and fun gameplay from the original games. This remaster feels polished on PC with minimal to no bugs, and the added features only benefit the original gameplay. However, some of the original trilogy's problems make this a niche title that will likely only appeal to retro gamers or those who've fallen deep into a pit of nostalgia like me.
![]()
For those of you who haven't played the trilogy, the gameplay is fairly simple: In each level, you must hop your way from platform to platform, defeat enemies by hitting them with your tail, and hunt for TV remotes by completing objectives. Each level has multiple objectives you must complete one at a time—and yes, you have to replay a level several times to collect all the remotes. Add in additional collectibles and hidden objectives, and you'll be running through the same map multiple times. Luckily, each level is short, making the work of fully completing each level easy and thus fairly addictive. I also opted to bounce back and forth from one to the other to further prevent the same environments from becoming stale.
New maps open up as you collect remotes, and you'll occasionally be tasked with fighting bosses before you can advance to the next stage of levels. It's a simplistic, but fun gameplay loop, and each entry into the series expands on the gameplay just enough that the core mechanics of tail-whipping, tail-bouncing, and lapping up flies with your tongue largely stay the same.
What separates Gex from other platformers of its time, though, was its metaplay on the culture of the '90s. As soon as you load into a level, you're treated to Gex's shmoozey Austin Powers impression or sarcastic jab at the late fitness guru Richard Simmons. Some of the humor is just downright silly, like entire levels playing off of Looney Tunes and other '90s cartoon aesthetics. I'd be remiss, though, not to point out how '90s humor won't always translate to today's day and age. Other levels in Gex and Enter the Gecko (as the names Kung Fuville or Samurai Night Fever might suggest) play into stereotypes of other cultures, and some may find this offensive.
![]()
Your biggest enemy in the Gex games, though, isn't Elmer Fudd-like hunters or MooShoo Pork, a ferocious cow-pig hybrid—it's sometimes the game its very self. In the first game of the trilogy, for example, some of the input felt delayed or too slow, and for a platformer, this can have a serious impact. Though it was annoying at times, it never obfuscated my playthrough to the point of full-on frustration.
I encountered my biggest pain point, though, when I revisited my old stomping grounds, Enter the Gecko. In the second game of the trilogy, you can choose from one of three camera options: manual, semi-automatic, and automatic. After a few brief nausea-inducing moments with the latter two options, I ended up sticking with the manual setting. But even with this option selected, I still found myself battling the camera—and growing more frustrated when I seemingly lost. I can't tell you the number of times I teed up for a leap between platforms, only for Gex to fall flat on his face at the bottom of a chasm because the camera rotated away from the action in the moment I chose to jump.
These camera woes were present in the original game and served as a point of criticism from fans all those years ago. The third entry in the franchise, Deep Cover Gecko, addressed this, narrowing the camera options down and making it work more for players instead of against them. Although you could point back to Limited Run's emphasis on "authenticity" and "emulation" here as an excuse, it would've been nice to have kinks like this ironed out from the originals before they got repackaged with a few new features and sold back to us for $30.
But of all the old games from my childhood that could've received a remaster, am I happy it's the Gex trilogy? Yeah, I am—and I would recommend it to anyone who also felt a rush of nostalgia when they saw the remaster's initial announcement. Unfortunately, though, I'd have to tell those of you whose birth year starts with a two to sit this one out simply because it loses a large part of its charm if you don't understand the references.
Regardless of your age, this could be right up your alley if you love retro games, specifically platformers. Buyer beware, though: The '90s jank is still very much present in Gex Trilogy. If you can look past the original gameplay flaws and potentially dated humor, you're in for a good time—tail time, some would say.

Music Man makes a surprise appearance in FNAF: Secret of the Mimic, yet he isn't exactly how we remember him. Taking the form of the carnival's usher, called Big Top, this animatronic may be stationary, but there's nothing stopping him from using your body like a ticket.
Get your ticket ready and stay on high alert, for the Big Top's less-than-friendly exterior will take an even darker turn as soon as the lights go out. Here is how to handle Big Top in FNAF: Secret of the Mimic.
Secret of the Mimic: Big Top guide
![]()
Your short time in the Big Top Showroom is memorable, not only for Big Top's creepy voice, but for the uncertainty of leaving this place alive. Big Top is harmless and (suspiciously) friendly when the lights are on. He switches up if the lights turn off, but this only happens if you beat one of the carnival games in the stalls surrounding Big Top. The awkward thing is that you need to complete multiple games in the Showroom, yet doing so causes a power outage every time. The lights turn off, and Big Top starts behaving differently. Big Top is now an oscillating security system (fun!), and alerting him to your whereabouts gets you killed. Thankfully, you get a checkpoint whenever you last completed a carnival game.
Don't let Big Top see or hear you
![]()
So what are you supposed to do when the lights go out? The answer isn't clear, and you might have got distracted like I did, staring at the number on the back of Big Top's mannequins. These numbers aren't relevant (...yet). Instead, avoid walking near the mannequins. A voice line will play if you accidentally bump into one, alerting Big Top to your presence. You cannot use these to distract him either because you cannot hide quickly enough after brushing past one (and the toy gun you're holding doesn't do anything). There are lockers around the perimeter, and your best bet is to wait in them or the stalls (behind cover) as Big Top's head rotates past your direction.
![]()
While it's a tad RNG-based, Big Top's head could turn in the direction you need, allowing you to walk to the Overflow machine (Showroom entrance) by following Big Top's head. Mannequins spawn randomly at each checkpoint, so you need to take the safe route back to the entrance without Big Top seeing you. The Overflow machine isn't safe either, as the minute you enter the area, Big Top starts slowly walking towards you. Complete the Overflow puzzle as fast as you can. The lights will turn back on, and power is restored (albeit temporarily). Big Top is seemingly back to normal, but this won't last long.
Win a grand prize
![]()
You need to complete at least two games in a different stall each time to get a free spin at the stall opposite the entrance (behind Big Top). The goal is to get the grand prize on the wheel. We recommend spinning the wheel every time you restore power, as you could get the grand prize in as few as two spins. We had to play three games and spin the wheel all three times to win. Getting the grand prize isn't fixed to a particular number of spins, but you may want to play all the carnival games to unlock some achievements. Remember, the lights will go out, and Big Top will turn hostile every time you beat a game. Repeat the steps below until you land on the grand prize so you can escape this area:
Reach the roof
![]()
After winning the grand prize, Arnold enters the upper level of the Showroom, but Big Top is fed up with being an usher and quits there and then. You now need to look at the Big Top Showroom floor and refer to the numbers on the back of the mannequins, corresponding to the hat they're wearing, based on the board with headwear symbols on it. The code is randomized and based solely on which hats appear for you. Don't forget to open the present and take the Trophy collectible before you leave.
![]()
But you're not done yet, because Big Top wants his severance pay in the amount of: You. The Big Top chase is relatively simple, but quick reflexes are needed to adapt to his attacks. First, descend the staircase from the roof, and navigate across the narrow hallways, avoiding his foot slams from above. Crouch-walk through the crawlspace between the two floors, adjusting your path when Big Top's foot slams down. The next area is full of mannequins you need to steer clear of, otherwise Big Top will hear you. Take it slow. This is the final section to get through as you rush down the stairwell again to conclude Big Top's section.

If, like me, you went to Pokémon Go Fest last year and got a Shiny Furfrou and held on to it until Feb. 14 to change its form into the Heart Trim form, you woke up disappointed that morning, as the developers didn't give us the elusive trim.
Heart Trim Furfrou can only be acquired on Valentine's Day, and while in previous years, the developers haven't missed a beat to give trainers the chance to get it, this year was the exception, where the Pokémon form was not available at all, leaving me and other trainers pretty dismayed.
So when I got a chance to interview Pokémon Go's Director, Michael Steranka, about why Scopely had missed the Pokémon form this year, I needed to know what happened. Was it a mistake? Held back on purpose? What was going on?
As it turned out. Steranka didn't even know why the form was missing. At least from what we could tell regarding his answer.
"I probably don't have much I can say on that one without chatting with our design team to understand the intent there," Stewranka told Destructoid. "We do try to make sure that we're not leaving things predictable, you know, in the game, because that can also be a little bit boring. But yeah, definitely heard and saw the feedback, and we'll look for other opportunities to bring those types of exclusives back to the game."
I tried to push Steranka for more information, asking if there were any plans for any kind of makeup event or if the Scopely deal was a cause for the missed opportunity, but Steranka was quick to shoot all of those down, telling Destructoid "definitely not," but that "like anything in the game, it will come back [eventually]."
Considering there are other Pokémon that Niantic seems to hold for specific events, or only let a Shiny Pokémon appear at certain times, such as Shiny Smeargle during the Festival of Colors. I also wanted to press Steranka on the team's decisions to gatekeep certain Pokémon around these events, especially when those events don't return and the Pokémon, like Heart Trim Furfrou, appear lost to time.
"We never try to hold things for specific events only, but there are some times where you know it makes sense to bring it out. And sometimes that does end up being that same event," Steranka said. "But similar with Shiny Smeargle, we never thought of that as something that should only be a part of Festival of Colors, but whenever it has sort of thematic relevance."
Closing out the question, I asked if it was now a case where a Pokémon, or Form, or Shiny that hasn't appeared in a while would only come out, as Steranka mentioned, when it makes sense to happen. And that the team won't feel forced to make it happen based on fan feedback if it doesn't make sense, with Steranka giving a resounding "yes" as his response.

One of the biggest updates Phasmophobia has ever seen arrives soon, and it promises to rework everything we know about the game. If you want to jump into the Chronicle update as soon as possible, here's the precise release date and time for it.
We don't see fresh Phasmophobia updates super often, so it's always an exciting time when new content is released. This is by far one of the most expansive updates we've had in a long time, as a new equipment item and evidence overhaul are sure to reshape how this game is played. There's a lot to look forward to, so here's the exact time and date when the Phasmophobia Chronicle update will be released.

Phasmophobia Chronicle update release date and time
![]()
The Chronicle update for Phasmophobia will officially launch on June 24 across all platforms. An exact release time hasn't been shared yet, but similar to past updates and events, it will likely become available fairly early in the day. Based on the most recent updates and events that have launched, 7am CT/12pm UTC is the most likely time it will be released.
The devs do sometimes run into delays when releasing fresh content, so there's a chance it may be released later than anticipated. It's also possible that a different launch time may be shared close to release, so if it is, we'll update our countdown here to reflect any changes.
For now, we've set our countdown to precisely 7am CT so you can check back here leading up to release to see how much longer there is to wait before the update is available. We've also listed the launch time across major time zones if you're interested in learning the anticipated launch time for your region.

If you're looking to earn lots of XP, tackling island story quests is one of the best ways to do so in Fortnite. Some of these quests can be a bit tricky to get done, so you may need some help working through them.
Although these aren't the same as the main story quests, they're still essential to tackle if you want to know all the lore in this season. They get you familiar with some new faces and help you catch up with old ones. Here's how to complete all island story quests in Fortnite.
Table of contents
All island story quests and how to complete them in Fortnite Chapter 6, season 3
![]()
There are four sets of island story quests you can complete in Fortnite, all of which have several unique tasks you need to get done in them. These four quest series are as follows.
Shadows of the Shard quests in Fortnite
Hope has four quests for you to tackle in the Shadows of the Shard quest series, although one of her tasks asks you to work on another island quest series, so it feels like a bit more. You need to meet up with two important NPCs for these tasks.
Robin's Training quests in Fortnite
![]()
Robin has three quests for you to get done in the Robin's Training quest series, all of which are fairly easy to tackle as long as you manage to get a Wingshot Grappler.
Heart of the Sprites quests in Fortnite
There are three Heart of the Sprites quests you need to get done with Jade. Her tasks ask you to interact with Dash Sprites, which are small creatures that can be found wandering around the island.
Brothers of Mask & Blade quests in Fortnite
![]()
Perhaps the trickiest quest series of all is Brothers of Mask & Blade, which has five tasks for you to get done. This is by far the most complex set of quests, with several imposing boss battles you need to work on.
Island story quests can be a bit glitchy, so you may sometimes run into issues while completing them. The progress for them sometimes doesn't seem to track properly, so if you finish a step but notice it's not done, you may need to wait until the next round to move forward. You can try tackling the next step since all of them are listed here, but it might not actually count towards your progress.
These tasks are also different from regular story quests, so to keep up with the main storyline, you also need to tackle those. This includes key tasks like the Trials of Morgan Myst and copying the actions of Morgan Myst's shadow proxies.

Voice chat is one of the best ways to communicate in Rainbow Six Siege, so it's important to avoid potential issues.
The voice chat works pretty effortlessly for the most part, and you can choose between push-to-talk or always-open communication. There's also an option to keep yourself muted while listening to the chatter of your teammates. The problem arises when the voice chat stops working, even when you have kept your mic open.
Let's examine some feasible steps to solve problems that may arise while you enjoy the Siege X update.
Rainbow Six Siege voice chat not working fixes
For starters, check your in-game settings and keep in-game chat open. It happened to me in the past when I accidentally disabled the in-game voice chat. Assuming you haven't done the same thing, here's what you can do to solve any issues that might occur.

FIFA Rivals might be a more casual and arcade take on the world of football games, but it has a pretty expansive ranked system for players.
As of writing, Ranked mode is the only available piece of content you can explore. To take part, you just have to play the game. Winning will help you move up the ranks, while losing will slip you down. If you win (or lose) enough games, you'll move across divisions. Let's look at exactly how the Ranked system works and what each division offers to the players.
FIFA Rivals Ranked mode explained
Every Rank in FIFA Rivals has three divisions. The only exception is Grand Master, which is at the very top. Each person starts from Bronze 3, which is the lowest division. Higher Ranks naturally have better daily rewards (seasonal rewards, as of writing, are purely cosmetic in nature).
![]()
While moving to the highest ranks will take time, it's worth the effort. For example, the best reward available for a player in Bronze, Silver, and Gold Leagues is a Rare Player (at very low odds). At Diamond, Master, and Grand Master, you'll always get a minimum of a Rare player, upgradable to Epic. In fact, there's a 15% chance for your daily reward to be a Rare player if you're in Grand Master.
It will be interesting to see if more divisions are added in the future update, which could have a big overhaul of the seasonal rewards (they're honestly quite poor at the moment).

REMATCH is live on early access for those who own either the Pro or the Elite Edition, but some players (including myself) have encountered a major issue: they are unable to move their characters.
When it happened for the first time, I thought that either my network was dead or my controller had lost connection. Going through Discord, it appeared that I wasn't the only one who encountered it. Thankfully, the developers have already provided a temporary fix. The fix is available for those on PC and requires you to delete a folder related to the previous beta sessions.
How to fix the Unable to Move Player bug in REMATCH
As it turns out, this bug could be encountered by those who have previously played in the beta test sessions. It's unclear whether the bug is happening only for PC players, but here's a solution you can try out.
![]()
As Vinnie mentioned on the official Discord, you can delete the Runtime folder. The folder is found in your root drive (mostly the C drive).
This should automatically fix the issue and prevent it from happening at all. Once done, you can jump into the game and play freely without any problems. As of this writing, there are no other bugs to report, including a server connection.
If you've obtained the Standard Edition, you must wait until June 19 to jump into the game. In the meantime, you can check out the countdown to remain aware of when the launch happens. If you own either the Pro/Elite Edition, there are bonus rewards like the Captain Pass, along with enjoying up to three days of early access.
