Ubisoft workers have raised concerns with company management about a deal with Saudi Arabia to create a free DLC for Assassin's Creed Mirage set in the country, according to a new report.

Announced with little fanfare - at least, as far as add-ons for pretty prominent games are concerned - on a Saturday morning last month, the free DLC is set to add a new story chapter set in 9th century AlUla later this year. AlUla is an ancient oasis city and governorate in Saudi Arabia, though Ubisoft's announcement post didn't mention the country by name.

Borderlands 4 is out now. Our Borderlands 4 review is not, because we have only just been sent a review code. I fear I was unduly forgiving of Team Cherry last week for not supplying Silksong code before release - they're a cute, tiny indie, after all, albeit a cute, tiny indie with the power to break Steam - so let's take a firmer stance this time: bad! Wrong! Don't you know you're suffocating games journalism, Gearbox and 2K Games, you swaggering chancers? Whither accountability and transparency in a time of choosy PR departments?

I should teach you all a lesson by diverting your brand power and googlejuice towards some other game instead. I think I will, actually. What else is on sale today. Ah yes, Try To Drive.

Crayon Shin-chan Sanrio Crossover Involves Hapidanbui Characters Keychains

Sanrio and Bandai Namco announced a new collection of Crayon Shin-chan crossover keychains that pairs them up with Sanrio Hapidanbui mascot characters. These are available in gashapon capsule machines in Japan. It costs 300円 (~$2) per try. There's no word yet on a North American release, but the US and Canadian debuts typically happen a few months after the Japanese ones.

Since this involves the Sanrio Hapidanbui mascot unit, only certain characters are part of the Crayon Shin-chan crossover. Each pairing tends to involve the Sanrio personality dressed as the character from the manga and anime series. The sole exception is Pochacco, as Shiro is actually dressed like him instead. Every keychain is flat and made of rubber.

Here are all of the pairings present for this keychain collection:

  • Action Mask with Pekkle
  • Buriburizaemon with Hangyodon
  • Kantam Robo with Keroppi
  • Shinnosuke with Badtz Maru
  • Shiro with Pochacco
  • Waniyama-san with Tuxedosam

The Crayon Shin-chan crossover keychains with Sanrio Hapidanbui characters are available in Bandai Namco gashapon machines in Japan now, and there's no exact North American release window yet. The Crayon Shin-chan manga is handled by One Peace Books outside Japan, and the anime isn't streaming anywhere in the US at the moment.

VShojo Co-Founder Leaves VTuber Company VShojo Director of Talent Departed the Vtuber Company VShojo Vtubers Justin Gunrun Ignacio Announced VShojo Closure CEO Gunrun merchandise

Following the closure of Vtuber agency VShojo after Ironmouse brought up missing charity funds and she and other performers left the company, the official store became inaccessible and the state of promised merchandise was left in flux. Now General Geega, AmaLee, and Zentreya all shared updates on items, while Michi Mochievee promised an update after meetings with her lawyer.

Geega was the first former VShojo Vtuber to bring up the current state of unfulfilled merchandise. She noted she won't be getting any remaining items. She stated there was a signed agreement and was willing to pay, but endeavors to access pieces are "being blocked." She also apologized for the situation.

Here is her full statement from social media.

https://twitter.com/GeneralGEEGA/status/1965847465409536085

Other former members of the company then explained their own similar situations. AmaLee came forward shortly after Geega's message appeared. She stated that, due to circumstances, she's also unable to access merchandise that wasn't connected to VShojo in any way.

https://twitter.com/LeeandLie/status/1965854874102575446

Zentreya then explained the block applied to items tied to her too and apologized to fans who might have purchased things. She also said she will investigate to see if affected individuals could get free merchandise with a future "drop."

https://twitter.com/zentreya/status/1965934986134966774

Finally, Michi promised an update and said she wants to be safe and consult her legal team before doing so.

https://twitter.com/MichiMochievee/status/1965990838791794850

We've seen a number of updates like this in the last few days. Agent Ink came forward to discuss items it made for Vtubers affiliated with VShojo that were sold on that company's storefront. It said noted it couldn't access orders made through that other website, and said it couldn't help with things like the Kuro Tee or Zentreya Gecko Onesie as a result.

Quintessential Quintuplets Characters Lead New BiCute Dark Figure Line sisters

FuRyu announced a new line of BiCute Dark figures, which is a companion series to its BiCute Bunnies line, and the first characters in it will be the five Nakano sisters from The Quintessential Quintuplets. The company's official announcement shared release windows for the first three, and details about Yotsuba and Itsuki Nakano came up on social media. These are prize figures, and the first release will be Ichika Nakano in September 2025.

While the BiCute Bunnies line put all of the characters in bunny girl swimsuits, this Dark line is a more gothic line with the heroines in black dresses with black wings and horns. Each of the Nakano sisters from The Quintessential Quintuplets is wearing a dress in her own sort of style, with different types of horns on their heads. Their wings all seem to match. While the outfits are primarily black, each character's signature color is also represented via accessories and accents. As an example, Ichika's necklace has a yellow heart pendant and there's a yellow clover on her left leg, while Nino's choker has a purple heart and the clover on her right leg is purple. All the figures are about almost 10 inches (25cm) tall.

As for The Quintessential Quintuplets sisters figures, first, here are photos of the "oldest" of the characters Ichika Nakano. She'll appear in September 2025 in Japan.

Next, here are the Nino Nakano first photos. That one will show up in October 2025.

The Miku Nakano initial figure images are here. That debut is set for December 2025.

These are the ones of Yotsuba Nakano. It is expected to appear in January 2026.

Finally, you can see Itsuki Nakano below. That figure's release window is February 2026.

There are no listings for any of these new BiCute Dark figures for folks worldwide yet, but it is incredibly likely we'll see some soon. The BiCute Bunnies figures always appeared outside Japan. For example, you can see them available through Amazon, Big Bad Toy Store, Crunchyroll, and Good Smile Company.

The first of the BiCute Dark The Quintessential Quintuplets sisters character figures will debut in September 2025 in Japan, with new ones arriving almost each month after that. The manga is handled by Kodansha, and the anime is streaming on Crunchyroll

Drakengard Original Soundtrack on Steam and Streaming Services

It's now possible to both stream or buy a digital copy of the Drakengard Original Soundtrack, as Square Enix rereleased it online. It can be found on sources both as that name or Drag-on Dragoon Original Soundtrack. It consists of 47 songs from the game, and for this release Square Enix combined two volumes of the original release into one.

If you want to buy a digital copy of the Drakengard Original Soundtrack, it's available on varying sources for prices that are generally pretty similar. On Amazon, it's $18.99. The same goes for iTunes Store. Steam is the cheapest source of it until September 24, 2025, however. There is a launch sale in effect there that's temporarily dropped the price by 20%, bringing it to $15.19.

As for streaming, it's available on far more services. It's on places like Amazon Music, Deezer, Spotify, and YouTube

For an example of what to expect, here's the "A Route Credits" song:

Final Fantasy VII FFVII Cloud Strife PS1 polygon soft vinyl figure

Square Enix has set up a new listing for the polygon soft vinyl figure of Cloud Strife from the original Final Fantasy VII on its Japanese e-Store. The company will restock the figure in Japan in late December 2025.

This figure re-enacts Cloud's appearance from the inaugural release of Final Fantasy VII on the first PlayStation in 1997. The figure has an overall height of 15 cm (5.91 in), which is measured from the shoes to the tip of Cloud's hair. The owner will also be able to rotate the polygon figure's arms, shoes, and waist.

Square Enix first released this soft vinyl figure in Japan in November 2024. The company has also brought the same figure to its Western storefronts. The polygon Cloud Strife figure appeared in the North American Square Enix Store in June 2025, and orders are still available there at $33.99 as of September 2025. The same figure was also listed on the European storefront in July 2025, but its stock there has since already run out.

The soft vinyl figure of Cloud Strife based on his polygon model from the original PS1 release of Final Fantasy VII will be available again in Japan on December 27, 2025. The same figure is also available to order from the North American Square Enix Store as of September 2025.

mcflurry mcdonald's my melody kuromi

For a limited time, McDonald's Japan will sell My Melody and Kuromi blueberry yogurt flavored McFlurry It'll cost 320 JPY ($2.20) per cup.

Aside from blueberry sauce and yogurt sauce, the McFlurry will also have cocoa cookies. This will give it a slight crunch when you bite into it. The cup will also feature both My Melody and Kuromi, along with pink and dark purple hearts. Purchasing the cup will also let you scan an AR photo frame so you can take a picture with Kuromi and My Melody. You'll be able to purchase the My Melody and Kuromi blueberry yogurt McFlurry from September 17, 2025.

Here's the commercial for the collaboration:

Unrelated to the Sanrio collaboration, McDonald's will also offer a Super Oreo Cookie flavor of McFlurry for 340 JPY ($2.30). This version of the Oreo McFlurry has more cookies in it. So it's crunchier and has a slightly more bitter taste than the usual one.

My Melody and Kuromi have always been popular Sanrio mascots. But 2025 is a special year for them, because it's their anniversary year. Kuromi debuted in 2005, making this her 20th anniversary. Meanwhile, My Melody debuted in 1975, making this her 50th anniversary. Sanrio has had multiple collaborations with companies like CASETiFY and MegaHouse to celebrate these milestones.

McDonald's Japan will sell the special My Melody and Kuromi McFlurry flavor for a limited time starting from September 17, 2025.

All four Vault Hunters in Borderlands 4

Storage Deck Upgrades, or SDU in short, is your key to growing your inventory in Borderlands 4, and this valuable currency can be slightly hard to find.

All SDU upgrades in Borderlands 4

Here's the complete list of all SDU upgrades that you can find inside the game.

  • Pistol Ammo (7 upgradeable levels)
  • Assault Rifle Ammo (7 upgradeable levels)
  • Sniper Rifle Ammo (7 upgradeable levels)
  • Bank (8 upgradeable levels)
  • SMG Ammo (7 upgradeable levels)
  • Shotgun Ammo (7 upgradeable levels)
  • Backpack (8 upgradeable levels)
  • Lost Loot (8 upgradeable levels)

Every upgrade begins with 5 SDU, and the price rises with every step.

Screenshot by Destructoid

Which are the best SDU upgrades in Borderlands 4?

The best choice is between Bank and Backpack. Both upgrades allow you to get more loot. Between the two, I am more interested in improving the Bank. The default Backpack doesn't have a large inventory, but you can mitigate that with a large Bank. Simply send the loot from your Backpack to your Bank, and free up more space.

Lost Loot is useful, but only in minimal situations. It comes to the rescue if you missed picking a Legendary, as the machine will save your loot. You can, and should, upgrade Lost Loot, but only after upgrading the Bank and the Backpack.

Weapons depend entirely on the setup you're using. Assault rifles and SMGs have bigger ammo capacities by default (which makes sense since they use more), and it's always beneficial to improve the ammo capacity of your Sniper rifles.

How to get SDU in Borderlands 4

When you unlock a Safehouse, you get SDU. Order Silos can also reward you with it. They can also be obtained by getting different collectibles spread around the map. The task is simple: explore the map, look into the corners, and hope to get lucky.

Borderlands 4 Rafa

Another one of 2025's big games is off to a tenuous beginning, and unsurprisingly, it has to do with its performance on PC.

Following in one of gaming's most unfortunate recent trends, Borderlands 4 is getting blasted on Steam for a myriad of issues when it comes to performance on PC. The game launched on Steam this morning ahead of consoles tonight at midnight, and gamers are reporting a variety of problems across different hardware.

BL4 is off to a "Mixed" rating on Steam reviews in its first few hours, with some gamers saying that they refunded the title due to crashing issues, poor performance, and even an inability to get past the beginning of the game without crashing.

Those who can play the game are happy so far, with improved gameplay and a new location in the Borderlands universe to explore. But it appears that some widespread issues are preventing a lot of others from experiencing what the new sequel has to offer.

"Game is buggy as hell on release," said one review. "Game crashed during the into sequence... After that, game would not even load, claiming ''Steam must be running' (it was). Steam verified the install files were good. I deleted my saved game and then the game loaded, but fell back to 3440x1440. I selected Windowed Fullscreen and the game crashed. Relaunched the game and it came back up in the correct mode, then crashed while trying to select a character (I skipped the cutscenes to get there). Not a good start!"

Another reviewer said the game has "terrible optimization" as "another Unreal Engine 5 casualty," and claimed that it's "not worth buying in its current state unless you have a NASA PC."

I've had BL4 for a couple of weeks, and I've experienced a wide array of performance issues on my aging PC. Last week, my power supply died, and when I replaced it the game started to run more smoothly. After today's day one patch, running on some specifically Low settings, it's as smooth as it's ever been for me.

My only suggestion is to run the game at the lowest settings possible and work up from there, but I can also share my current settings as an example of how I've gotten it to run smoothly for me. For those who are crashing, that's a huge yikes, and I hope that some stability patches are on the way for that.

Hopefully, this evening's console launch is way smoother than this, because there is a great game inside of BL4 if you can get it to run properly.

Borderlands 4 Rafa

Borderlands 4's launch has been rough, and the Hang Detected error has been causing many problems.

When this error triggers, it prevents the game's engine from running as usual. You'll either have to exit the game, or it will crash on its own. In fact, the error message doesn't pop up often, and the game simply crashes from the main loading screen (with an Unreal Crash report popping up after that).

While there's no permanent fix, here's what I did to temporarily solve the issue (expect performance-related problems to remain for the time being).

How to solve Borderlands 4 loading screen crashes

The harsh answer is that the error can appear irrespective of your attempts. Once it does, you'll have no alternative but to close the game entirely and begin a fresh instance. The aim is to prevent it from happening in the first place.

The leading cause of this trouble appears to be the lack of enough specifications (yes, even if you're above the Gearbox-specified minimum requirements). This could be your system's RAM capacity or your GPU/CPU's inability to generate the necessary power.

Borderlands 4 Application Hang Detected error
Screenshot by Destructoid

If you somehow load into the game, don't start or resume your save. Instead, go to options.

  • Cap your FPS at 30. Yes, things will look pretty bad, but this is a must.
  • Put every advanced graphics setting to the lowest. Disable any additional features like Motion Blur.
  • Enable an upscaling method, and put it to ultra performance.
  • Finally, switch from Fullscreen to Windowed Fullscreen. This will prevent you from changing the native resolution, but it makes it easier for your system to transition if you have a multi-monitor setup.

This should prevent the error from happening. As of writing, I have booted the game up on seven instances, and the error didn't pop up once. That said, it won't miraculously improve the game's general performance. For that, you can try our guide on the best performance settings, which will help you get better results and hopefully keep the crashes away.

A character putting on a helmet with blood pouring out in blasphemous.

Hollow Knight: Silksong has been out for a week as of this article, with millions hopping on to see what Team Cherry has been cooking for seven years.

A stellar game through and through, Silksong is probably going to leave you wanting for more, which is exactly what I'm going to help you out with. From classic metroidvanias to incredible Soulslikes, here's what you should try out after beating Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Alucard in Symphony of the Night
Just look at that art. Image via Konami

One of the original metroidvanias, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night remains a high point for the genre. It is a fairly old game, and that comes with its own set of caveats, chiefly steep difficulty and a learning curve steeper still. But beyond that, it's a title that provides all those great things we've come to love in Hollow Knight and its sequel: amazing art direction, sprawling levels, fantastic atmosphere, and satisfying combat.

Getting the hang of Symphony of the Night will take some time, but you aren't going to find a game like it out there, whether new or old.

Blasphemous

Key art for blasphemous
Blasphemous is an incredible game, both in terms of gameplay and looks. Image via The Game Kitchen

If you're looking for more of a Soulslike-metroidvania blend rather than pure Super Metroid-inspired games, look no further than Blasphemous. It is, I would say, the game most akin to Hollow Knight and its formula. It takes a lot of inspiration from genre classics and adds layers and layers of innovations, with an extra cherry on top straight from the Soulslike garden.

Blasphemous' best part is its artistry, with every bit of the game designed with utmost care and impeccable artistic vision, resulting in the gaming equivalent of Renaissance paintings. Its combat and exploration, and exceptionally gloomy atmosphere, are all high points, which you should definitely not miss out on.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Key art for Bloodstained
There hasn't been a game closer to Castlevania before or since. Image via 505 Games

A spiritual successor to Symphony of the Night, this title is a modern iteration on the classic metroidvania formula. While also fairly challenging, Ritual of the Night offers many quality-of-life improvements to make your life easier, as well as introducing formulaic changes influenced by other genres of our time, namely Soulslikes, among others.

It retains all the artistic vision of those initial Castlevania games, though it never feels stale or regurgitated, but rather fresh and inspiring, which is precisely the vibe you'd want after beating Silksong, which itself is as fresh as they get.

Adventure of Samsara

A snowy level in Adventure of Samsara.
Adventure of Samsara doesn't deserve to die in Silksong's shadow. Image via Atari

Though it's been in development for a decade and has a lot to offer, Adventure of Samsara was unfortunately overshadowed by the very game this list is titled after. It had the misfortune of releasing on the same day as Silksong, with publisher Atari inexplicably not pushing the launch forward to avoid a total collapse.

Which is precisely why I'm recommending it on this list: small indie developers need all the attention they can get, and Adventure of Samsara, with its amazing pixel art and direction, deserves it. If you are in the market for a Silksong-like, look no further than the game it has eclipsed; I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

Carrion

If you're looking for more story and a lot more violence, look no further than Carrion. Though it differs in many ways from the games on this list, it'll provide you with hours and hours of ultra-violent fun, allowing you to take control of the villain and wreak havoc upon everything you come across.

With incredible, satisfying combat, amazing art direction and pixel graphics, Carrion truly stands out among metroidvanias as one of the genre's more unique titles.

Dark Souls 1

A knight facing off with a giant wolf in Dark Souls 1.
As iconic as it gets. Image via FromSoftware

The quintessential 3D metroidvania, Dark Souls 1 remains unsurpassed even by FromSoftware's standards, at least in terms of level design. Featuring the most complex and interconnected world FromSoft has ever crafted, Dark Souls 1 epitomizes metroidvania design philosophies while adding an extra dimension to them.

Though definitely not the best overall game in FromSoftware's vast array of titles, I, for one, think Dark Souls 1, and especially its first half, will provide you with some of the most satisfying exploration you have ever encountered. So, if you haven't already, give yourself a treat by getting DS1 and starting down the path of what made Soulslikes what they are.

The original Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight: Silksong is only the second game, so how about you went back and played the first one? Images via Team Cherry, edited by Destructoid

A lot of people will be riding the hype train and skipping Hollow Knight 1 altogether, diving headfirst into Silksong. While nothing's wrong about that, given Silksong's standalone story, you would do yourself a world of good by taking a step back and trying out the original as well, since there's nothing quite like Silksong, except its predecessor.

You should also be quite familiar with the combat and design, allowing you to dive straight in without the need to learn anything new.

A character watching beyond the camera in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

In a recent interview, Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann opened up about various topics, including his upcoming title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which he believes has the potential to become the studio's most expensive title.

Whether it does swell up to over $220 million that The Last of Us: Part Two had or not won't change the fact that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is Naughty Dog's most ambitious title. Speaking to Variety, Druckmann said Intergalactic is in full production, with the potential to become the most expensive undertaking for the studio.

"It's the most ambitious game we've ever made. It's the most expansive game we've ever made, maybe the most expensive, by the time we finish it," he said.

Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet revealed

He did not reveal all too many crucial details, the game still being heavily in development and all, but did add that the game's trailer "doesn't even scratch the surface of what this game actually is." Druckmann described Intergalactic as a true evolutionary title, going far beyond what Uncharted and The Last of Us did, which he said was "grounded," zombies and supernatural phenomena notwithstanding.

"You could look at our previous titles and see the evolution of going from Uncharted, where we're really cutting our teeth on realistic character-action game, third-person shooter, combined with emotional storytelling," he said.

"With The Last of Us, we added some RPG elements, we started playing with wide linear layouts. Continue that trajectory forward, add sci-fi, and you start to get the sense of what we're doing, and then we've gotten even more ambitious than that."

The ambitions and stakes are so high that Druckmann had to relinquish his role in The Last of Us TV show, choosing instead to focus all his efforts on running Naughty Dog, alongside writing and developing Intergalactic. He added that some actors we saw in the TLOU series would have roles in Intergalactic, alongside Troy Baker, who is probably the biggest name in video games right now.

If Intergalactic proves a successful story, we could even see TV and movie adaptations of it, Druckmann said, with studios already approaching Naughty Dog with offers based on the trailer alone.

All in all, it's a pretty heavy undertaking for the studio and Druckmann himself. Naughty Dog is looking to outdo itself this time around, with its chief excited to see how everything will come together in the end.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet does not yet have a release date, but you can check out its first trailer here, in case you missed out.

Borderlands 4 Vault Hunters

Pre-orders are very important to game publishers, and so bonuses for pre-ordering games are commonplace in 2025. Borderlands 4 has a couple of cool rewards in this regard.

The latest and greatest in the looter-shooter franchise has a couple of rewards players can unlock simply by pre-ordering the game. The Ornate Order Pack and Firehawk's Fury weapon skin are both available for free to players who pre-ordered, and you don't have to do much to grab them.

Here's how to grab the pre-order bonuses in Borderlands 4.

How to get Borderlands 4 Ornate Order pack and Firehawk's Fury weapon skin

The two main Borderlands 4 pre-order bonuses, the Ornate Order pack and Firehawk's Fury weapon skin, can be claimed in the game's menus. Open up the Echo-4 menu, navigate to Inventory, and then click the Rewards button that appears underneath Echo-4 as it floats in the background.

Once claimed, you can find these items within the Customization menu. Under Vault Hunter, you will find one new Ornate Order skin for each character class. You can also customize the Vault Hunter's colors with each skin and body type, along with their head types, so you can truly make your character your own.

Under Weapons, you can find the Firehawk's Fury skin all the way at the bottom of the list of weapon skins. These skins can be applied to any of the weapons in your inventory, and they certainly add some fun flair to the billions of weapons you can find in BL4.

If you missed out on pre-ordering, you can find these items under DLC on your platform's store. On Steam, the Ornate Order Pack is for sale at $9.99, and the Firehawk's Fury weapon skin is $4.99. These items are purely cosmetic and provide no unique buffs to gameplay.

Borderlands 4 gameplay Vault Hunter

Your Backpack is the most essential tool for getting loot in Borderlands 4, and it can be extremely limited initially.

The space available at the start of your adventure is minimal. You can have at most 16 items (including what you're using), including guns and equipped armor. If your Backpack is full, you can't pick up any loot.

Thankfully, there is a temporary workaround to solve the problem, followed by a permanent solution.

How to increase Backpack space in Borderlands 4?

The answer to this is via SDU. Short for Storage Deck Upgrade, these items allow you to choose different upgrades for multiple departments in Borderlands 4. One such upgrade on offer is related to your Backpack. The first of those upgrades begins at 5 SDU (pretty cheap), but starts going up the more you unlock.

Upgrading your Backpack with the help of SDU will be the permanent solution. However, you don't have a lot of SDU at the beginning. You can earn them from plenty of side quests, but that takes time. Initially, the main campaign is the priority, so you won't be able to secure too much SDU (there are other upgrades to unlock).

Till you can reasonably expand your Backpack, there's an alternative solution.

How to create a temporary Backpack space in Borderlands 4?

If you observe your Backpack by pressing the Tab button, you'll find a Bank icon on the top right of your screen.

A player inventory in Borderlands 4 with multiple items
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Bank is an extra storage space that allows you to store items you don't require. This frees up room in your Backpack, and you can sell the items later to earn money. Just right-click on an item you want to transfer to your Bank. Mark all the items you wish to do the same, and then keep the V button pressed until the transfer is complete.

Remember that your Bank inventory storage space is also limited, so be careful about how much loot you pick up. You can also use the SDU to upgrade the inventory size of the Bank, just like the Backpack. Doing so will allow you to send more items to the Bank, which directly converts into greater Inventory space for your loot.

Borderlands 4 Psycho mask

Borderlands 4 ups the ante in the looter shooter franchise with countless weapons, new Vault Hunters, and a new location to explore.

But it also ups the ante with some PC performance issues and bugs, unfortunately. On day one, players are encountering a specific error that is annoying those who paid to play as soon as possible, and it's giving gamers fits.

Here's what we know so far about the "FAILED TO SAVE" error in Borderlands 4.

Borderlands 4 FAILED TO SAVE error fix

BL4 Borderlands 4 psycho
Image via 2K

I've only personally gotten the FAILED TO SAVE error once in my dozens of hours with the game, and a quick restart of the game fixed the issue for me. It appears that this may be an underlying issue with the game that needs to be fixed by Gearbox.

If restarting the game doesn't work, try repairing the game's files on Steam or reinstalling the game entirely. Reload Steam to see if there's a new update for Borderlands 4, and try again. If the error still persists, it's likely out of your hands until there's some sort of patch or update to the game.

Unfortunately, this is the norm for PC game launches in 2025 when it comes to bugs and performance. The day one patch fixed some of the errors I was experiencing in the pre-release build of the game, but when it comes to getting the game to perform and play well across a multitude of PC builds and hardware, there's always going to be problems.

For now, if you're unable to get past the FAILED TO SAVE error by restarting, repairing, or reinstalling, there may need to be an update to fix the problem. While you wait, make sure to check out our guide for the best PC graphics settings to make Borderlands 4 run as well as you can get it to.

Also, make sure that your computer is up to the minimum or recommended specifications for the game:

    • Storage: 100 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system. Requires 8 CPU Cores for processor. Requires 8 GB VRAM for graphics. SSD storage required

Several characters from the game Cult of the Lamb appear facing forward with weapons

One of the standout indie games in the last few years is the macabre title Cult of the Lamb, which balances fast-paced dungeon crawling action with some well-layered base building. Fans seem to have connected with the game's dark sense of humor, as well as the quality gameplay, ever since its release.

Now fans will have a whole new way to show their devotion to the lamb overlords, as this cult-favorite title is getting its very own board game. Developer Massive Monster and publisher Devolver Digital are making Cult of the Lamb: The Board Game, hoping to recreate some of the most iconic aspects of the video game, but in tabletop form.

While players only control the titular lamb normally, in Cult of the Lamb: The Board Game, up to four players choose from one of four characters: the Lamb, the Goat, the Owl, or the Snake. Then, all players compete to amass their very own cult and prove they have the most devoted followers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EehS0AGcLkc

Each player will have an opportunity to go on dungeon-based adventures to battle heretics and earn some powerful upgrades, before facing off against the bishops of the Old Faith for "massive victory point rewards."

This is then followed up with the "base phase," where each player assigns their followers to work, worship, or wander. All helping them to build up resources and faith, getting ever closer to that crucial win.

It all sounds like a great translation of what made the digital version so addictive, and the team at Massive Monster has likely poured just as much detail and humor into this version of the game as well. If all the DLC for Cult of the Lamb is any indication (like the upcoming Woolhaven expansion), this is a team that gives every shred of energy when creating something.

If fans want to make Cult of the Lamb: The Board Game, they had better get ready to pray at the altar of the crowdfunding gods, as the game is coming to Kickstarter in November.

Borderlands 4 Kairos outdoors

In a looter-shooter like Borderlands 4, Golden Keys can be your secret to getting those mighty legendary guns and armor pieces.

While some core systems in the fourth installment have changed from the previous installments, others have remained the same. In the earlier releases, Golden Keys allowed players to obtain powerful guns for free.

Let's find out how you get and use them to benefit yourself the most.

How to obtain Golden Keys in Borderlands 4?

The only known way to obtain Golden Keys in Borderlands 4 is by using Shift codes. Those who have played the previous Borderlands games will be familiar with Shift codes and how they work. Gearbox provides these free codes for all to use. They are routinely handed out weekly and as part of promotional events.

All Shift codes are free to use but restricted across different Borderlands titles. In simpler words, the Shift code meant for Borderlands 3 can't be used in Borderlands 4, and vice versa. These codes are usually provided on X via the official accounts of Gearbox, Randy Pitchford, and the game itself.

How to redeem Borderlands 4 Shift codes.

Once you have obtained the Shift codes, you must redeem them to get your Golden Keys. The exact number of keys you receive at a time will vary. You should have plenty of keys to open when you keep doing this over time.

Once you get these Golden Keys, you can then use them to open a chest at your base. You'll need to progress a fair bit before you get this option. The number of openings you get depends on the number of keys you're using. They don't always guarantee Legendary loot, but the chance tends to be higher.

That said, I have always felt that the loot you get from farming your surroundings tends to be better. That could be different in Borderlands 4, but your priority should always be using the loot you get from completing various quests. Additionally, different shop vendors allow you to buy Legendary weapons (on rare occasions).

All four Vault Hunters in Borderlands 4

Borderlands 4 introduces four Vault Hunters—Vex, Rafa, Armon, and Harlowe—and each have their own pros and cons.

Every Vault Hunter has a unique playstyle based around their available abilities. You can unlock and strengthen new skills as you level up. The gap between the four options at launch is slim, but a few choices stand out after testing them all.

Complete Borderlands 4 Vault Hunters tier list

To classify the Vault Hunters, I have used two ranks.

  • S-tier choices are clear from the rest regarding abilities, build potential, and how well they can clear the content solo at the highest difficulty.
  • A-tier choices are slightly off the top, but still decent if you like what you see. Once you master them, the A-tier names shouldn't have any problem acing any challenge you might face on your adventure.

S-tier

Here are the S-tier choices in my books.

All four Vault Hunters in action in Borderlands 4
Screenshot via Gearbox

Vex is arguably the strongest character to pick if you're not interested in playing the game in co-op. Her strength lies in summoning her minions; you also have different options. Dead Ringer summons copies of her, while Phase Phamiliar brings forth her favorite, Trouble. With her abilities, you'll rarely be alone on the battlefield, which is a positive in the higher difficulties.

If you want to focus entirely on damage, you can do the same with the Incarnate Action skill. Her kit is versatile; you can even go for something sustainable or fully damage-focused. Similar to her is Rafa, aka Yolt.

Part of a military experiment, Rafa brings the big guns to the battle to demolish any enemy unfortunate enough to be caught in the crosshairs. Rafa is highly agile and feels extremely good with melee-focused builds. However, he also offers a lot of damage potential from the range, which is excellent for beginners. Out of the three Action Skills, Peacebreaker Cannons is best suited for those wanting to enjoy a solo adventure.

A-tier

Here are the A-tier choices

  • Amon
  • Harlowe

Amon is the most beginner-friendly character to choose from. He is big, strong, and doesn't need to hide. He's the perfect Vault Hunter to pick if you don't want to hide and chop down waves of enemies effortlessly. The Cybernetics ability tree is my favorite due to how peculiar the effects are. You can summon your whole arsenal of weapons (including gigantic swords) and throw them at enemies. His attacks can also do additional AoE damage upon kills, which is a bonus in certain situations.

Onslaughter, on the other hand, emphasizes both defense and offense. He gets Shield Regeneration, more mobility, and bonus explosion damage. Scourge is also a good alternative, but it feels too defensive for my liking.

In contrast to the other three names in this guide, Harlowe has the best countermeasures to control enemies. Her Flux Generator Action Skill creates an Energy Field that traps enemies and deals damage over time (to everyone trapped inside). All allies inside the Energy Field gain Overshield, and Harlowe can reposition the trap by picking it up and throwing it at a new location.

Both CHROMA Accelerator and Zero-Point feel limited in what they do. These are excellent abilities in boss battles, but you'll want something else against mobs of enemies. Remember that we will get at least one more Hunter as part of the official roadmap, so expect to see some changes to this guide in the next few months.

Borderlands 4 Vault Hunters

The mini-map has been a subject of significant controversy ever since Gearbox removed it from Borderlands 4, but the available workaround looks and feels similar.

Unlike the previous Borderlands titles, the fourth instalment doesn't have a mini-map. In fact, it uses a new and innovative compass system. However, there's an alternative available for all to use, and it feels exactly like using the mini-map.

How to enable the radar in Borderlands 4?

While the compass was the only navigational tool available once, things changed ahead of the launch. There were positive votes for a poll conducted by Gearbox, where the community wanted a radar. Despite being disabled by default, this alternate navigational tool is pretty much a mini-map.

When enabled, it's viewable at the top-right corner of your screen. It's a circular radar that always remains active and automatically detects and flags enemies near you. The center of the radar is where you're located, so you immediately know where to look.

Compared to the compass, the radar has become my mini-map (of sorts), and you can use it here.

  • Start the game, and let the main screen load.
  • Go to the settings.
  • Hover over to Gameplay
  • Under the HUD section, you'll get the Toggle Radar Display option.
  • Select "Radar."

The radar in action in Borderlands 4
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once done, just start your new save or resume an existing one. You'll have a screenshot similar to mine. Instead of the compass, you'll have to check your screen's top-right section. Thanks to its similarities with the mini-map, I prefer using the radar.

If you want to switch to using the compass, you can always revert the change you made by pausing your game and making the tweak from the settings. The compass, compared to the radar offers certain advantages if you know how to use it properly.

Borderlands 4 combat screenshot

Vex has one of the best all-around kits in Borderlands 4. It allows you to damage enemies incredibly and use her minions for assistance.

Vex should be the best pick for solo players of the four characters available in the game. Her Siren powers allow her to dish out tons of damage, but you can choose how to use them.

Dead Ringer and Phase Phamiliar allow Vex to create copies of herself and a companion that help her defeat enemies. In comparison, Incarnate walks along a different path that deals damage to enemies and fully restores her health.

Building Vex can potentially be the most confusing of all the characters I tested. Here's what I have been using for my build, which you can use to clear the story on your own.

Vex Phase Phamiliar build in Borderlands 4

A good option for building Vex is to split between a Dead Ringer and Incarnate. Instead, I tried going for Phase Phamiliar to make use of Trouble. When you're playing alone, triggering Trouble can bail you out of challenging situations.

Best Vex build in Borderlands 4
Screenshot via Maxroll.gg

Action Skill: Phase Familiar

  • Her Minion, Trouble, joins Vex. When killed, Trouble will Respawn after a Cooldown. Press F to teleport Trouble, dealing Damage in an area. Trouble transforms into a Badass, fully restoring Health and gaining increased Damage for a Duration. Activating Phase Phamiliar will Respawn Trouble if he's currently dead.

Augment: Beast Mode

  • Command Skill. Press and hold F to Command Trouble to enter Beast Mode, becoming Immune to Damage and gaining increased Minion Attack Speed and Movement Speed for a Duration.

Capstone: Unsealed

  • Trouble will now Mark his current target, causing them to take increased Gun Damage from Vex.
  • Kill Skill: When a Marked enemy is killed, Trouble gains a Stack of Unsealed for a Duration, granting Health Regeneration and increased Damage. While Phase Phamiliar is active, Unsealed effects are doubled.

Top Skill Tree

Skill Description Skill Points
Grave Sustenance Restore a percentage of Action Skill Duration. 5
Grave Command Restore a percentage of Trouble's Command Skill Cooldown and Respawn Cooldown. 3
Overprotective Vex and her Minion gain Overshield. 5
Overheal While Vex has Overshield, she and her Minion(s) gain Health Regeneration. 3
Claw and Bang Vex and her Minion gain increased Melee Damage and Ordnance Damage. 5
Vorpal Fiends Vex and her Minion gain Critical Hit Damage. 5

Center Skill Tree

  • Keen Fiends: Minion Damage gains Critical Hit Chance against any part of enemies.

Right Skill Tree

Skill Description Skill Points
Grave Current Vex's Minion(s) gain Bonus Shock Damage. 5
Infusion When Vex uses a Repkit, she and her Minion(s) gain Bonus Damage with Guns and Melee Damage for a Duration. The Bonus Damage's Elemental Type is based on Vex's currently-equipped Attunement. 5
Grave Thirst Vex and her Minion(s) gain Lifesteal for a Duration. 5
Deadwire When Vex deals Gun Damage, there is a Chance to spawn a Spark Remnant that will seek out a nearby enemy and explode, dealing Shock Minion Damage to other nearby enemies. 2
Stormblessed Vex gains increased Shock Damage and Shock Status Effect Damage. 1

This build focuses solely on unleashing Trouble on your enemies. If you go with Brach one (Left Skill Tree), you can build Trouble as a crit-monster. Instead, I have chosen a hybrid between doing damage and becoming self-sustaining. This allows Trouble to deal damage and stay in the battle for an extended time.

If you opt for this build, always use guns with Shock damage to amplify passives like Deadwire and Stormblessed. While I haven't maxed them out, the smaller investments in them will allow you to get their benefits towards the late and endgame.

Borderlands 4 Rafa

Borderlands 4's Exo-Soldier class Rafa is likely to be a big favorite among players.

Rafa is a wise-cracking soldier with an exo-suit that he uses to destroy enemies on Kairos, and he's a lot of fun to use across a variety of builds and skills. I gravitated to this particular build, though, and I think it's one of the better ones I've used so far.

The build I have a ton of fun with for Rafa is centered around the Peacebreaker Cannons. This shoulder-equipped guns trigger and enter him into Overdrive, which gives him a buff to damage and movement speed.

Borderlands 4 Rafa skills and build

The Peacebreaker Cannons have auto-aim capability and will fire on any enemy within the middle reticle on-screen when you trigger it. Using this and some other unique skills, with this build, Rafa can extend the duration of his action skill to keep the damage flowing.

Screenshot via MaxRoll

  • Action Skill: Peacebreaker Cannons

    • Equip Rafa's Peacebreaker Cannons, which automatically fire at enemies in Rafa's crosshairs, dealing kinetic gun damage. If that enemy dies, the Peacebreaker Cannons find a new target.

  • Augment: Instinto

    • Rafa's Peacebreaker Cannons gain increase Critical Hit Chance. Pressing [Action Skill button] while Peacebreaker Cannons are active causes them to double their Critical hit Chance to gain increased Critical Hit Damage, while also causing his Action Skill Duration to drain faster.

  • Capstone: Double-Ought Autoshot

    • Rafa's Peacebreaker Cannons are replaced with shotguns that have increased damage and have increased pellet count.

Top Skill Tree

Skill Description Skill Points
Deft Hands Rafa and his Peacebreaker Cannons gain increased fire rate. 5
Shield Barriest Rafa gains increased Shield Recharge Rate and improved Shield Regen Delay while Overdrive is active. 5
Juerga Whenever Rafa critically hits an enemy, Action Skill Duration is restored. 5
Field Repairs Whenever Rafa activates an Action Skill, he restores a portion of his maximum shield capacity. If his shields are already full, he gains overshield based on his maximum shield capacity instead. 3
Resilienca Rafa gains increased damage reduction while Overdrive is active. 5
Maestro Rafa gains increased skill damage. 3
Venganza Whenever Rafa's shields break after being fully recharged, spawn a free grenade. If he has a grenade equipped, use that grenade instead. 1

Left Skill Tree

Skill Description Skill Points
Asymmetric Warfare Indirect projectiles gain increased damage. Indirect projectiles include all action skill weapons, thrown guns, and projectiles not fired from your gun. 5
Errant Spark All indirect projectiles deal bonus incendiary damage. If the indirect projectile already deals incendiary damage, double the bonus damage. 5
Hostile Acquisition Rafa's indirect projectiles gain lifesteal. 5
Proprietary Incendiary Press (melee) to lob a STRM Glider at an enemy. Once it reaches its targets, it explodes and deals incendiary damage in an area based on the amount of ammo in Rafa's gun when he threw it. 1
Lateral Plinking Rafa's indirect projectiles gain a chance to ricochet. 1

Right Skill Tree

  • Everdrive (5)

    • Overdrive gains increased duration.

The key nodes for this build are the Instinto augment (Rafa's Peacebreaker Cannons gain increase Critical Hit Chance) and the Juerga skill ("Whenever Rafa critically hits an enemy, Action Skill Duration is restored").

These abilities work in concert to keep critical hits coming for big damage and in turn extend the duration of the action skill, so you are constantly dealing damage to enemies, whether it be bosses or adds. Shield Barriest, CYA, and Resilienca all combine to offer self-healing and damage reduction to help keep yourself safe while running and gunning.

In the left skill tree, Rafa's Peacebreaker Cannons and grenades gain lifesteal, incendiary fire damage, and increased chance to ricochet to nearby enemies, furthering his damage-dealing capabilities in both solo or co-op play.

Jakobs weapons work best in this build considering that critical hits ricochet to nearby enemies, so chaining critical hits with both the weapons and the action skill creates for massive damage.

Borderlands 4 gameplay Vault Hunter

Borderlands is back with a new sequel after six years, and it's got four fun new Vault Hunters for players to run around and blow shit up with.

In Borderlands 4, you have the choice between Rafa the Exo-Soldier, Vex the Siren, Amon the Forgeknight, or Harlowe the Gravitar, and they all have their own unique skill trees and abilities to combo with the game's seemingly never-ending supply of different guns.

Like previous games in the series, BL4 has the option to respec your skills so you can experiment with builds and different abilities, or to simply change up your character's skillset if you get bored with their play style after a while. It's up to you.

Here's what you need to know about how to respec your skill tree in Borderlands 4.

How to respec skills in Borderlands 4

In Borderlands 4, you can respec your skills at any time, if you've got the money. These respec stations can be found at a number of the game's Safehouses or towns, next to Lost Loot machines, banks, or Vending Machines.

If you open up your map, you can look for the respec machines by their icon (seen below), which also appears on your compass when one is nearby:

To respec your skills, you will need some money. It will cost a percentage of whatever cash you currently have, and it works out to be about 10 percent of your total. For example, in the image above, it cost me $122,000 to respec while I had $1,222,514 in my inventory.

When you approach the respec machine, it will open up for you like in the image above. From a distance, it looks quite different, though, and here is how it appears:

You must hold down the interact button to enter the respec screen, at which point you'll pay the money, and you can respec your entire build to try out different Action Skills or abilities, or to perfect your current build with some minor tweaks.

Borderlands 4 scary mech enemy

Ready to shoot and loot until you can't any longer? Borderlands 4 has arrived, and it's brought some hefty visuals with it.

Gearbox's latest FPS has some demanding settings when it comes to PC performance, so it may take some tweaking to get the game looking and running properly, especially if you have a somewhat older build like I do. I struggled early on until I figured out the right settings for my PC.

Thankfully, I now have the game running at a stable framerate, albeit with some sacrifice to visual quality. But trust me, you want BL4 to run smoothly as you are running, gliding, grappling, and driving around the new, awesome location of Kairos.

Here are my tips for the best PC graphics settings to use in Borderlands 4.

Best Borderlands 4 graphics settings

First, I would suggest using the Auto-Detect Graphics Preset to Run Auto-Detect within the game's Advanced Visuals options to see what the game recommends for your PC. From there, it's time to tweak settings up or down to get the best performance while also retaining fidelity.

If you're having difficulties running Borderlands 4 at a smooth framerate, try out these settings:

  • General

    • Graphics Preset: Low

  • Resolution Scaling

    • Upscaling Method: GPU-dependent

      • Use DLSS for Nvidia GPUs or FSR for AMD GPUs.

    • Upscaling Quality: Balanced or Performance

      • This was the single most important setting for me. Once I lowered it, I saw an immediate boost in general FPS and stability. Balanced will retain some visual fidelity while also helping with performance, but if you continue to struggle with frames, lower this to Performance or Ultra Performance at the cost of making the game a bit uglier. I do think it's worth it when it comes to keeping your FPS stable.

    • Spatial Upscaling Quality: Disabled
    • Scene Capture Quality: Full Resolution
    • Frame Generation: Off
    • Nvidia Reflex Low Latency: Boost

  • Environment

    • HLOD Loading Range: Near
    • Geometry Quality: Low
    • Texture Quality: Medium
    • Anisotropic Filtering Quality: x1
    • Foliage Density: Very Low
    • Volumetric Fog: Low
    • Shadow Quality: Low
    • Directional Shadow Quality: Low
    • Volumetric Cloud Shadows: Disabled
    • Lighting Quality: Low
    • Reflections Quality: Low
    • Shading Quality: Low

  • Post-Processing

    • Post-Processing Quality: Low
    • Motion Blur Amount: 0.0
    • Motion Blur Quality: Off

Borderlands 4 system requirements

Before picking up BL4, make sure that your system meets the requirements below. The more VRAM and RAM you have, the better it will be for you in the end.

  • Minimum requirements

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 / Windows 11
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-9700 / AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 / AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT / Intel Arc A580
    • Storage: 100 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system. Requires 8 CPU Cores for processor. Requires 8 GB VRAM for graphics. SSD storage required

  • Recommended requirements

Lara Croft in Tomb Raider Legend

French voice actress Françoise Cadol has accused Aspyr Media of using artificial intelligence to replicate her voice in the new Tomb Raider remasters. Cadol is the French voice behind Lara Croft and has now filed a legal notice against Aspyr, requesting the remasters to be pulled from stores.

As per Game Developer (via Le Parisian), French voice actress Françoise Cadol has accused Aspyr Media of creating an AI replica of her voice without her permission.

The replicated voice has been put in place of her original voice work in the new Tomb Raider IV, V, and VI remasters, which came out in February of this year. However, it appears the AI-replicated voice lines were added after the fact, with Cadol claiming she was notified of them by players after an Aug. 14 update.

She has since filed a legal notice against Aspyr, who is owned by Embracer, requesting the remasters to be pulled from stores until the issue is resolved. Cadol is being represented by lawyer Jonathan Elkaim, who Game Developer describes as an expert in IP and AI.

"You immediately notice that there's a very strong metallic impact, it's very choppy, lacking in intonation, or on the contrary, poorly performed," Elkaim claimed, with Cadol herself saying Aspyr "disrespected" its player base with these additions.

This is yet another case of artificial intelligence harming actual artists. Though the SAG-AFTRA protests in the United States yielded positive results regarding protections from AI, the rest of the world isn't as fortunate, at least not yet, and we'll probably see an uptick in cases such as these as AI tools continue to develop and evolve.

Destructoid has reached out to Aspyr Media for a comment, and will update this article with additional information as it becomes available.

The Retro Roadtrip Star Path event has many exciting prizes you can claim in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but to earn them, you need to tackle lots of quests. Some of the missions you need to get done are the week four routine duties.

Most Star Path missions are designed to be rather tricky, so navigating through this batch of duties can be rather tough. You need all the Tokens you can get to claim all event rewards, though, so here's how to complete all week four Retro Roadtrip Star Path routine duties in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

For week four of the Retro Roadtrip Star Path event, there are three quests you need to get done. The theme for these quests is cooking, so you might need to stock up on some ingredients and get to work learning the many recipes you can make before tackling them. You'll also want to work through all week one duties, all week two duties, and all week three duties before these ones.

Task How to complete Quantity Reward
Serve some hungry customers. Serve meals to villagers at Chez Remy and Tiana's Palace. Eight 70
Cook any meal. Cook any type of dish. Six 30
Sell meal. Sell any type of meals. Three 10

Serve some hungry customers in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To finish the serve some hungry customers duty, you need to deliver eight meals to the restaurants. Customers can be found in both Tiana's restaurant, Tiana's Palace, and Remy's establishment, Chez Remy, so you can cook up and deliver dishes at both locations.

When villagers visit either location, they'll have an icon with the food they want to eat right above their head. Cook up this meal in the kitchen, then deliver it to them to make progress in this quest. Depending on when you're working on it, there might not be eight villagers present, so it's possible you'll have to revisit the restaurants a few times to get this one done. New villagers typically rotate into both restaurants every hour, so check back if needed.

Cook any meal in Disney Dreamlight Valley

For the cook any meal task, you need to make six dishes. All cooked items count for this task, so it's entirely up to you what you choose to make. Most Star Path duties require you to make certain types of meals, but luckily, that's not the case here, so you get to choose which resources you spend.

If you didn't already complete the last routine duty, I recommend focusing on that one instead, as you'll naturally check this one off while cooking meals for villagers. Otherwise, you should either make meals you can sell for lots of Star Coins or ones you can consume for a helpful energy boost. I'm a big fan of Fruitcake or Berry Salad for energy, and any Pumpkin dish for Star Coins.

Sell meal in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Your final quest is to sell three meals, which can be done by visiting any of Goofy's Stalls and selecting food you've made and want to get rid of. Any cooked dishes can be sold for this task, but if you want to make some Star Coins, dishes that include Pumpkins, like Pumpkin Soup, are a great option.

The Fruit of Immortality Battle Pass in Marvel Rivals Season 4.

The newest season of Marvel Rivals, "Heart of the Dragon," will go live on Sept. 12. Thor's sister Angela and Daredevil are waging war across the Heart of Heaven, but the real threat is still Doctor Doom, now scheming to seize the Immortal Dragon Shou-Lao's power for himself.

As is tradition, Marvel Rivals season 4 will launch with a battle pass, "Fruit of Immortality." Like the ones that came before it, this battle pass introduces 10 exclusive skins for players to unlock, and this time around, they don't seem to be based around a unifying theme.

Keep reading, true believers: we're about to go over all 10 of the new costumes featured in Marvel Rivals' newest battle pass.

Thanks to a snappy official trailer, we've gotten a fantastic look at the new costumes featured in the "Fruit of Immortality" battle pass. While some of these costumes revolve around Heart of the Dragon's Far East theme, others are deep cuts from Marvel Comics lore that got my comic-loving heart pumping at dangerous speeds.

Luna Snow: Abyssal Glow

Embracing the ungovernable power of the Phoenix Force, Luna Snow rocks the best of both worlds with this perfectly balanced blend of flame and frost.

Winter Soldier: Winter's Veil

Bucky Barnes is really embracing the first half of his codename with this costume. The cold has always been the Winter Soldier's closest companion, and these white camo garbs hit him like a pair of hand-knit wool gloves. Guy could walk into a snowy Call of Duty map and fit right in.

Starlord: Starlit Outlaw

Peter Quill's relationship has always rocked a gunslinging lawbreaker vibe, but these armored desperado duds dial things up to eleven. I mean, really, that mask-and-hat combo belongs on an intergalactic wanted poster.

Captain America: Golden Age

Sometimes, it's good to take a few steps back and reconnect with your roots. Captain America is taking this advice to heart with this costume, which is a proud send-up to the classic red, white, and blue outfit Steve Rogers wore when he fought the forces of the Axis on the front lines of World War II.

Hawkeye: Old Man Hawkeye

The Old Man Logan comic series offered readers a glimpse into one of Marvel's bleakest possible futures. In this Mad Max-inspired hellscape, few heroes had it worse off than Hawkeye, who lost both his eyesight and the respect of the world's few remaining heroes. Of course, that didn't stop him from being the best archer there is.

Dr. Strange: Astral Wanderer

Astral projection has always been one of Dr. Strange's most iconic abilities, but what happens when the Sorcerer Supreme's astral self loses track of his body? If you've watched Avatar: The Last Airbender, you already know the answer: bad things.

Phoenix: Dark Phoenix

Few events in the Marvel Universe are more disastrous than Jean Grey's tragic transformation into the Dark Phoenix. A physical avatar of the Phoenix Force's more destructive aspect, Dark Phoenix can reduce entire galaxies to ash with a mere thought.

Loki: Immortal Firebird

Loki Laufeyson laughs in the face of death, and the Immortal Firebird costume is a confident reminder of that fact. As elegant as it is ostentatious, this outfit perfectly captures the majesty of the ZhÅ«què, and Loki wears it like a pro.

Magneto: The Trial of Magneto

In Uncanny X-Men #200, Magneto shocked the X-Men and the world by surrendering himself to the International Court of Justice, willingly standing trial for his many, many crimes to secure a lasting peace between humans and mutants. Unfortunately, the dream of this armistice died screaming when anti-mutant extremists crashed the proceedings and nearly killed Magneto's old friend Charles Xavier.

Moon Knight: Moon Knight Mech

One of the best episodes of What If...? 's third and last season saw a hodgepodge version of the Avengers fight a kaiju in giant robots. One of the heroes who took part in this clash of titans was Moon Knight, and he'll be rocking a smaller-scale version of this costume in Marvel Rivals season 4.
