Your cuddly dinosaur aunties at Capcom have warned that they can't "guarantee" various Monster Hunter games will run on Windows 10 PCs after uncle Microsoft end support for the operating system on October 14th this year.

When that fateful day comes to pass, Capcom "will no longer guarantee that Monster Hunter: World, Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Wilds will run on Windows 10 systems." Which isn't to say that these games will immediately become unplayable, but "future system updates or game title updates may make the game incompatible on Windows 10 systems".

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4's latest trailer, in which an entire nerd cave's worth of miniatures spanning all four in-game factions are gibbed, gutted and burned in about 90 seconds.

Somewhat to my surprise, this is the first time I've watched a Warhammer videogame and tried to calculate the bodycount in terms of tabletop figurine prices. My pen-and-paper estimates are profoundly upsetting, and that was before I looked at Games Workshop's current catalogue - I think for the first time since 1999 - and adjusted my figures for inflation. Do any of you play physical Warhammer tabletop games right now? How does that balance out, exactly? Do you just sort of... not buy food?

Atelier Yumia Gets Free Atelier Resleriana DLC

New Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land DLC is here, and the free addition adds costumes based on Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian characters. The paid element is the Secret Research Area Aladissia map, which is available alone for $7.99 and in the $44.99 Season Pass.

In the case of the Atelier Resleriana costume DLC, Yumia isn't the one getting to dress up. Instead, the two new outfits are for the siblings Isla and Viktor von Duerer. Isla can dress up as Rias, complete with her ears. Viktor gets to look like Slade with his extra clothing set.

Here's how those costumes look:

The Secret Research Area Aladissia map is a new area that we can reach after getting through the quest "An Inexplicable Sight." In addition to gimmicks, enemies to fight, and materials to gather, there's a new story tied to the area. This also means a secret plan to complete.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is available on the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the free Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian and paid Secret Research Area Aladissia DLC are available now.

FFVII Ever Crisis The First Soldier End Begins in October

At the beginning of September 2025, Square Enix announced the Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier storyline in FFVII Ever Crisis would end in October 2025. Now we have a date for the debut of the end and a trailer highlighting that Glenn Lodbrok, Lucia Lin, and Matt Winsord storyline. Episode - Three Ex-SOLDIERs will launch in-game at 7pm PT/10pm ET on October 1, 2025.

Editor's Note: There will be some spoilers for Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier in the FFVII Ever Crisis article and trailer below.

While we have an idea of what's happened to Glenn, Lucia, and Matt in the series due to FFVII Rebirth, this latest trailer shows how we get there. After the events on the La'paina and Sijad islands with Rosen and Sephiroth and actions Shinra ordered the trio to take, the three decided to fight back against the company. This new trailer begins with that, showing him speaking to a group of rebels. There are also cutscenes showing Glenn being brought to Rufus Shinra and the trio spying on Sephiroth. There's also a teaser for a new boss fight.

Here's the full English trailer, which is only available on social media at the moment.

https://twitter.com/FFVII_EC_EN/status/1972149269269545249

While we wait for that, there is a new Vincent gear banner live in FFVII Ever Crisis. Until October 29, 2025, people can pull for his Galian Roar gun and try and get his Galian Beast Mantle costume. Here's the trailer showing the equipment off.

Petit Planet Trailers Show Gardening, Decorating, and Neighbors

HoYoVerse shared some YouTube Shorts of Petit Planet that show off some of the Neighbors characters we'll meet and activities like gardening and decorating. These offer hints as to what it will be like to customize a planet and do some farming ahead of the Coziness Test closed beta.

The most recent trailer focuses on showing off some Neighbor Petit Planet characters in-game alongside avatar design options. It starts by showing the Battle Beetle Trainer Isaki. Then, Yunguo the Cultivator comes up. She's followed by an as-yet-unnamed villager. We see a few avatars in different outfits after that. As this teaser closes out, we also get to see Medowlyn, who is a Plushie Designer. (Those are three of the four characters revealed on the official site.)

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Vumf7oXTFe0

For the Home Decor YouTube Short, we get to see what it is like to decorate and wander around a home. We see an avatar place items, turn on a light, open a window's curtains, and get up after sitting on a bench.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/qRw5q9I5pNM

For the teaser dedicated to gardening in Petit Planet, we see what it is like when someone grows wheat and melons. It seems like, as in Story of Seasons, there may be situations in which a larger than usual version of a crop might grow.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/IvC5ONz3O6s

Petit Planet is in development for PCs and mobile devices, and the Coziness Test closed beta registration is open.

Club Ironmouse Concert Features Hololive and Former VShojo Vtubers

Ironmouse will hold a "Club Ironmouse" concert at PARQ Nightclub in San Diego, California on October 16, 2025, and she confirmed on social media that both former VShojo Vtubers and active Hololive members will perform at the event. Seven of the eight main guests are confirmed, and there will also be pre-show guests. She also confirmed that, while only the physical concert tickets are available now, there will be a PPV VOD option for those who won't be in the area or attending TwitchCon.

In terms of former VShojo Vtubers who will join Ironmouse for the concert, Henya the Genius, Kuro, and Michi Mochivee will all be present. So will Bubi, who often appeared along Ironmouse in a sidekick role for streams and performances. It is possible more could be present, as there is still one mystery performer for the main concert and there will be over 10 people present during the pre-show.

As for the Hololive Vtubers who will sing alongside Ironmouse, only members from the English branch are confirmed. Calliope Mori, Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame, and Nerissa Ravencroft are confirmed.

There's a teaser trailer for the show too. It only shows hints of Ironmouse and Bubi, however.

Windows 10 Support Ending for 3 Monster Hunter Games

Capcom announced via Steam that it will be ending Windows 10 PC support for three Monster Hunter games due to Microsoft ending support for that version of the operating system. The three games affected are the mainline titles Monster Hunter Rise, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Monster Hunter World. Both Monster Hunter Stories games won't be hit by this, as there are no notices on pages for either one. Everything gets cut off on October 14, 2025.

This doesn't mean all three Monster Hunter games will be immediately unplayable on Windows 10 systems. Rather, Capcom sounded an alert that they could start no longer working after that date. This is because future updates will be geared toward OS such as Windows 11 and beyond. As such, as long as you don't update the games, you should have no problem playing them on older PCs past the time support ends.

This appeared alongside a Monster Hunter Wilds video and graphics drivers alert. Capcom noted some people are experiencing issues with certain graphic cards. As such, it told people to make sure they are at AMD Radeon Series 25.2.1 or later and NVIDIA GeForce Series 580.88 or better.

Monster Hunter World is on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, Monster Hunter Rise is on the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, Monster Hunter Wilds is on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and Windows 10 PC support for all three games ends on October 14, 2025.

Along with requiring Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 to even launch the game on PC, Activision says its RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system has evolved over the past year in Black Ops 6 to try and stay ahead of cheat-makers worldwide.

"Over the last year, Team RICOCHET has trained advanced machine learning systems on millions of hours of gameplay," Activision said in a new blog post. "These upgrades are smarter, faster, and more reliable than ever; built not just to catch cheaters, but to set the new standard for fair play and evolve with the game itself."

With these changes, the company says RICOCHET now has "one of the strongest detection systems we have ever built, designed to separate natural aim from the precision patterns of an aimbot," faster wall-hack detection, and a layered defense that "with constant and independent updates, makes it tougher for cheaters to adapt and easier for us to stay ahead."

Call of Duty players have heard this all before in recent years as the hacking epidemic has grown with crossplay and free-to-play Warzone accounts, but the fact is anti-cheat is a never-ending battle against cheat providers who are always trying to stay one step ahead to make a quick buck by selling cheats. And Activision says it's working to fight on that front, too.

"We're striking cheat makers and sellers from every angle: in-game detections that stop them cold, and legal action that dismantles their operations," Activision said. "And we're not stopping there. Significant continued improvements to our systems are coming, including those that detect external hardware."

The BO7 beta, which begins this Thursday, Oct. 2, is part of the process of ensuring that the anti-cheat systems are at work, Activision said, calling it "a critical test for the systems we have online under real player conditions" as players will inevitably try hacking in the beta test.

"We are actively monitoring matches, gathering data across thousands of unique hardware setups, and removing cheaters in real time," the company said. "The beta allows us to measure how our detection tools perform when faced with live attempts to cheat, and to fine-tune how quickly and effectively we strike back. Every report, every flag, and every removal during the beta feeds directly into stronger responses tomorrow."

Cl4nk exiting a portal in the Forest in Megabonk

Difficulty is one of the most interesting character stats in Megabonk, and understanding it will be key to success on every run.

Given the nature of Megabonk, you won't want to make things more difficult. However, the game also rewards you for your extra effort in the form of XP, Silver, and Gold. Interestingly, you can pre-determine your run's difficulty and modify it midway.

What is the Difficulty stat in Megabonk

Simply put, Difficulty determines how hard (or easy) your current run is. If the value is high, you'll have more enemies spawn. These enemies will also have more health and damage, making things more complicated. However, you'll earn more rewards from taking down these strong enemies. It's a great risk vs. reward approach that you can choose for yourself.

Stats in Megabonk
Screenshot by Destructoid

If you want to raise the Difficulty, there are a couple of ways.

How to raise the Difficulty in Megabonk

There are two main ways of raising the Difficulty of your run.

  • Going for a higher tier: Once you clear a map on tier 1, you can go for the next tier. Clear the map on the second tier; you can go up until you hit the ceiling. Enemies at higher tiers will be more challenging to take down, but will provide you with extra rewards. Additionally, you'll be able to complete more formidable challenges as well.
  • Shrines: The Greed Shrine will raise the Difficulty stat of your runs by 5%, and provide extra Gold. Charge Shrines can also raise the Difficulty stat by 8%, but it triggers randomly.

Playing in higher Difficulty is fun and rewarding, but you'll want to use the best items, tomes, and builds to get the job done. Otherwise, your run will end prematurely, leading to a failure in your objectives.

Cl4nk exiting a portal in the Forest in Megabonk

I find the way Megabonk organizes stages to be a bit confusing, especially for new players. It took me a few runs to really understand how to progress through the game and advance to more difficult stages.

Here's a quick explanation of how Megabonk stages work and how to unlock them:

  • A Map contains a group of stages around a theme (Forest, Desert).
  • A Tier represents the level of difficulty of the Map and how many Stages it has.
  • A Stage is a single area within a Map with a boss you have to defeat.

Let's use the Forest map progression as an example. If you play Forest Tier 1, you'll play one stage in the Forest map. Once you defeat the Stage boss, there's nothing else to do besides surviving the endless wave of enemies. You can let your character die to complete Tier 1 and unlock Forest Tier 2.

When you unlock that new Map Tier, you have to choose it when starting a new run. In the map selection screen, move your cursor to the Tier 2 box and tick the box to enter the Map in this new difficulty level.

The Fox about to enter a Boss Portal in the Forest in Megabonk
The Portal to the next stage opens in Tiers 2 and 3. Screenshot by Destructoid.

Since you're now in the second tier, you'll be able to enter a portal and advance to Stage 2 of the Forest once you defeat the boss in Stage 1. Likewise, slaying that final enemy in Stage 2 will unlock Tier 3 with three Stages and the most powerful boss of the entire Map.

To go to the next stage in Megabonk, defeat the Stage Boss and enter the portal that opens on the boss shrine. If no portal opens, you've defeated the final enemy of your current tier and must select a higher tier when starting your next run.

How to unlock new Maps

The only two maps in Megabonk are Forest and Desert. To unlock the Desert, you need to reach the second Stage of Forest Tier 2 with CL4NK. To unlock CL4NK, you need the Revolver, which you get by killing 7,500 enemies in all your runs combined. Once you have it, choose CL4NK in the character selection screen, then pick Forest Tier 2 and beat the first boss in the first Stage to enter the portal and unlock the Desert.

The process to unlock Desert Tiers 2 and 3 is the same as in the Forest: Beat the Stage 1 boss in Tier 1 to get Desert Tier 2, and defeat the Stage 2 boss in Tier 2 to unlock Tier 3.

Tumbleweeds in the Desert stage in Megabonk

I'm convinced that finding a needle in a haystack is way less effort than getting the Katana in Megabonk. This weapon is, in theory, an easy five-percent drop in the Desert stage, but actually getting it can feel way harder than this.

Megabonk's Weapons tab in the Unlock menu says you have a "5% chance to find it upon breaking a Tumbleweed on Desert Stage 1." While these are pretty straightforward instructions, it's important to keep some things in mind:

  • Desert Stage 1 means the first area in any of the Tiers. If you're playing Desert Tier 2 or 3, you'll only be able to get the Katana in the very first map. After you defeat the first boss and move to the second stage, you'll no longer get the Katana by breaking Tumbleweeds.
  • Tumbleweeds are small balls of dry plant material that slowly roll around in the Desert stage.
  • They spawn at random and don't show up on the mini-map.
  • Your character can't break tumbleweeds by shooting them. You must approach them and interact to break them.

The "break thumbleweed" prompt in Megabonk.
You'll see that prompt a lot. Screenshot by Destructoid.

Katana won't drop in Megabonk

If you've broken dozens of tumbleweeds in the right Desert stage in Megabonk and still can't get the Katana, I'm sorry: you're one of the unlucky players in probability hell. Welcome to the club! A 5% chance means that, on average, players will drop a Katana in up to 20 tumbleweeds broken, but it can take many more attempts than this. Your actual chance of dropping it in your first 20 attempts is around 64%.

No game effects change the Katana's drop rate.

I've found more tumbleweeds by standing still for a few seconds and looking around rather than sprinting through the map. Since their color is really similar to desert sand, it can be easy to miss them if you're always moving. Stop for a bit if you're not getting swarmed by enemies and try to find more of them.

Play the game normally and break thumbleweeds as you go in the Desert map instead of target farming it. I'd only repeat the Desert stage to get the Katana if I had already cleared every tier of the stage.

If you break tumbleweed in Stage 2 instead, you have the same 5% chance of dropping the Shotgun instead.

Destiny 2 Renegades armor

Destiny 2 is basically like a cockroach with its ability to survive and weather the angriest of community sentiment storms. But now? I'm not so sure anymore.

After the launch of The Edge of Fate DLC in July, it truly feels like the game is at a low point, and there have been many of those throughout the franchise's 11 years, beginning with Destiny 1 in 2014. The series has had massive updates to reinvent itself and reignite player interest, but things feel bad and just hard to come back from now, and I say this as a loyal player who has been there from the very beginning.

It's gotten so bad that multiple content creators who have based their careers around the game have been forced to move on. This isn't new, either, but it only exacerbates how truly dreadful the overall vibes around the game have been lately, and it somehow feels worse and more serious this time around.

Top Destiny 2 streamers such as Datto, Gladd, and GernaderJake are just a few of the (seemingly) large number of players who are leaving the game-as-a-hobby behind for other things, at least for the time being. Content creators playing other things won't spell the end of the game themselves, but they are a symptom of many greater issues.

This past weekend, Destiny 2 hosted a race for the recent Desert Perpetual raid, featuring the new Epic modifier that changed up encounters and added difficulty. But a perennial raid racer like Gladd was nowhere to be found.

"When I think about getting on to practice or competing in the raid, I just feel empty inside," he explained in a lengthy social media post. "So many other games excite the shit out of me, but D2 just brings my vibe down. The game feels bland [as f*] to play, and often feels like even more of a chore now. I didn't wanna bring that energy to my team. They deserve better."

Gladd continued, saying that D2's new power grind is "boringgggg," citing the recently-released Portal and loot system "that isn't interesting enough to engage someone like me, who wants an interesting grind and chase."

"I just cannot sit there and chase Tier 5 loot with the current system or increase my level above 500, especially after playing something like Borderlands, where the most interesting loot is thrown at you regularly," he said.

GernaderJake, meanwhile, has built his channel off of streaming Trials of Osiris on weekends, helping gamers obtain PvP greatness. A few days ago, he put out a video explaining why he won't be playing it for this season, meaning he won't be back until the new DLC comes out in December, just like Datto.

https://twitter.com/DattosDestiny/status/1972386658768314757

I have to agree with the streamers. Destiny 2 feels like a slog more than ever before, and a lot of that has to do with the power grind feeling meaningless, a lack of week-to-week story content like previous years had, and intense competition from several other live-service games.

I will be back to try out the Renegades DLC in December, as others likely will, but how long will that last? Odds are we may be having this same conversation again in the winter.

Calcium in Megabonk.

The Shop in Megabonk allows you to get some hefty buffs, but to do so, you'll have to unlock them.

Once you unlock items in the Shop, you can purchase them with Silver. The unlocks are permanent and apply across every run. Not only can you unlock and buy new items in the Shop, but all of them are also upgradeable.

This guide will provide all the necessary information related to the Shop.

How to unlock every Shop item in the game

The process begins by unlocking the Shop. This is an easy task and happens when you complete at least one quest. There are 236 quests inside the game, and any one of them will do.

Shop items in Megabonk
Screenshot by Destructoid

Unlocking the remaining shop items is hidden by completing more quests.

  • Silver: Clear tier 1 on any map for once.
  • Refresh: Complete 20 quests
  • Weapon Slots: Complete 25 quests
  • Skip: Complete 30 quests
  • Tome Slots: Complete 35 quests
  • Boombox: Find and activate all the boomboxes in the Forest.
  • Toggler: Purchase 40 unlocks (complete different quests, then spend the applicable Silver to purchase the unlocks).

Out of all seven unlocks, Boombox is the only one with a specific task to complete. Finding all the Boomboxes can take some time, but you'll be able to complete it over time. The remaining items are all unlocked when you complete the required quests.

Once done, you can spend more Silver to upgrade the effects. This will amplify their in-game effects and raise your chances of going deeper on a run. I would prioritize getting more weapon and tome slots, as they're almost necessary on tier 2 difficulty and above. More importantly, all shop upgrades are permanent, and they will apply across all your runs.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Cogsworth and Lumiere

Disney Dreamlight Valley's next update, Return to Beast's Castle, is rapidly approaching its Oct. 1 launch date. We're diving back into the Beauty and the Beast realm to meet two new characters, continue its storyline, and unlock new cosmetics along the way.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Return to Beast's Castle update features

Disney Dreamlight Valley's Return to Beast's Castle update introduces two new characters you can invite to your village, an expanded Beauty and the Beast Realm questline, and a Halloween-themed Star Path event. Let's check out each feature in more detail.

Two new Beauty and the Beast characters

Two new characters are arriving alongside the Return to Beast's Castle update. We'll officially be introduced to Cogsworth and Lumiere, who'll help us uncover a mystery within the realm's castle before returning to our village as permanent residents.

After befriending them both and inviting them to your village, Lumiere's friendship questline will focus on investigating trouble within Tiana's restaurant. Cogsworth, on the other hand, will work together with other Dreamlight Valley residents to get your village back in order.

The Beauty and the Beast Realm expands

The Beauty and the Beast Realm's castle has taken on a spooky turn, with its interior riddled with cobwebs and dimmer lighting. After completing the realm's initial questline and befriending Belle and The Beast, we'll return during this update and work alongside Cogsworth and Lumiere to figure out what's happened. As a bonus, Belle and the Beast are also having their storylines expanded, letting you learn more about them even after completing all of their friendship quests.

Witchful Thinking Star Path

Beast's castle isn't the only spooky part of the Return to Beast's Castle update. The upcoming Star Path event, Witchful Thinking, is all about adding magical and mystical items to Disney Dreamlight Valley. From wardrobes full of potions to cauldrons to spell book gliders, the Halloween vibe is stronger than ever during this event.

Trick or Treat event

Disney Dreamlight Valley's Trick or Treat event is returning once more. In previous years, we collected green, red, and purple candies around our villages that allowed us to complete various event-specific tasks. Its past rewards will return for anyone who hasn't completed the event before, alongside brand-new items and features to spice things up. It'll run from Oct. 15 to 31.

Haunted Floating Festival

Trick or Treat isn't the only limited-time event appearing in Dreamlight Valley. Starting on Oct. 22, a mysterious portal will appear in your village, marking the beginning of the Haunted Floating Festival. During the festival, you'll explore a new island and complete puzzles to uncover rewards. It'll last until Nov. 11.

Once Upon a Dance Dream Bundle and Premium Shop additions

If you're a fan of golden clothes and adorable critters, this upcoming update's premium shop items are for you. Coming to this update is the Once Upon a Dance Dream Bundle. This bundle, priced at 4,000 Moonstones, introduces a romantic questline between Belle and The Beast, letting you unlock new outfits for each of them. You'll also obtain special royal furniture and ballroom outfits for your character.

So far, two new items are confirmed to arrive in Disney Dreamlight Valley's Premium Shop during the Return to Beast's Castle update. The first is a new Witchy Kitty animal companion that appears as a cute black cat wearing a witch's hat. We're also getting a Halloween Dream Castle skin that transforms the village's main castle into one full of purple and white lights, pumpkins, and magical floating candles.

Quality of life improvements

Alongside these new and returning events, the Return to Beast's Castle update also includes the following quality-of-life features and bug fixes:

  • New camera mode poses, including a toggle feature for Night Thorns, Inkies, and Splinters of Fate, so they don't appear in your photos.
  • You'll now be able to see every available reward in Dream and Companion Bundles. Locked ones will show padlocked previews until you gain access to them.
  • Some collection menu categories are merging to make navigation easier.
  • The Teal Baby Dragon and Black Pegasus will be available to find if you own the Storybook Vale expansion.
  • Multiple quest-related bug fixes for "The Music's on the Walls," "Create a Bear," and more.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition

EA Games has been sold for $55 billion to the Saudi PIF and investment firms Silver Lake and Affinity Partners, owned by Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. The deal is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of the 2027 Fiscal Year, starting July 2026.

Huge buyouts like this often mean some kind of company restructuring. New owners usually abandon projects from the previous owners to favor new ones, which for a gaming company like EA Games could mean that some games planned for the next few years could be canceled.

It's too early to say if future EA Games and series will be canceled after this acquisition is concluded. Nothing is set yet, because the deal needs to be approved by governments first. Players, however, already fear that five specific game series will be under the new owners' crosshairs to get the scrap.

Mass Effect

"I've just lost all hope for Mass Effect 5," a fan wrote on Reddit, to a lot of replies of other players sharing the same feeling. "The biggest potential loss," a second added. I can, too, see the themes that surround Mass Effect, such as war and politics, being deemed too sensitive for a company to be partly owned by a government's investment fund.

"With any luck for consumers [...] the company is about to be gutted and sold off for parts, which could mean the IPs end up with new developers", someone else said, admitting their statement was "the only optimistic take I can dream up."

https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1ntgb12/ea_announces_agreement_to_be_acquired_by_pif/

Command and Conquer

"Curious about what will happen with the Command and Conquer franchise," another player wrote, stirring more fear among gamers.

CNC hasn't seen a completely new title since 2018, only remasters and collections published on Steam and other platforms in the later years. The source code of many games in the franchise, like Red Alert and Generals, is open-source now, which likely means EA never had plans to bring the series back pre-acquisition either.

Star Wars Battlefront

Battlefront fans who had hopes of seeing a third game of the franchise don't think it will happen after EA's buyout. While Disney owns the rights to Battlefront and could find another studio to develop a new installment in the series, EA developed and published its first two games.

"There goes Battlefront," one redditor wrote. "I mean, they were never really going to make another one because they are so risk adverse[sic]," a second, hopeless fan commented.

Battlefield

Battlefield 6 is releasing on Oct. 10, and the EA deal won't change that. But players are sure that after that, the series will either change forever to generate even more profit with aggressive microtransactions, or that it will be abandoned for good.

"Battlefield 6 is made, and the bulk of the gameplay isn't going to change. Monetization is for sure going to creep in though. [...] The next Battlefield however….. DOA," a fan wrote. Another player jumped in and predicted that even Battlefield 6 will eventually suffer. "It will then get some stupid skins and s***** paid battle passes."

Other people even made up satirical names for Battlefield games, given EA's upcoming ties with Donald Trump's son-in-law. They've come up with Battlefield MAGA and a Battlefield 7 with Antifa as the enemy.

Dead Space

Dead Space is another EA series that has been... well, dead, for a long time. While we got the 2023 remake, the last time a fresh title in the series was published was in 2013 with Dead Space 3. Those who had any hopes of seeing Dead Space 4 think this ship has sailed with the EA deal.

https://www.reddit.com/r/DeadSpace/comments/1nthnwf/rip_motive/

"RIP Dead Space," someone wrote. "Dead Space was (unfortunately) already buried," another fan replied. "Only time will tell, Saudis might permanently shelve DS for its themes or see it has legs and attempt a revival for western markets," a third one commented.

Preview of a tier list of all races in Nethros Roblox experience.

Having the best Race available in Nethros can provide you with a significant advantage both in PvE and PvP. Now, as Races greatly differ from one another, and changing them is difficult, we prepared the following Nethros Race tier list and reroll guide to help you look only for the best ones when creating a new character.

Nethros Race Tier List

Nethros Race Tier List

META RACES

S
Taurin
Geonite
GOOD RACES

A
Primalis
Weaver
Draconic
Seraphim
MID RACES

B
Ashkin
Human

In the above tier list, we ranked all Races in Nethros based on how good they are both for PvE and PvP overall. For the most part, bonuses given by Races are not that significant, but they can be impactful. For example, Draconic grants you a unique fire/flame damage buff that is amazing for specific builds. Still, Taurin and Geonite are the two you want to look out for, as both Races add an amazing defensive layer to your character.

List of Nethros Races

A player showing how to check the fated virtue of a race in the Nethros Roblox experience.
You can check the Fated Virtue granted by your Race in the Virtues section during character creation, and in the TAB menu while on a server.

Below, you can check out the bonuses and the rarity of each Race in Nethros. We also included some pros and cons for each Race to give some context behind our tier list. The rarity chances of each Race are based on the actual chance of getting them when creating a new character.

Race Race Virtue Bonuses Pros & Cons
Human
( 23.2%)
When your HP drops below 15%, all of your cooldowns are reset.
+ Decent Race ability that can come in clutch in certain scenarios
The worst Race overall in Nethros
Taurin
( 23.2%)
When knocked over, getting hit doesn't reset the time it takes you to get back up.
Being parried won't damage your posture.
+ Excellent Race for new players
+ Prevents you from getting stun-locked in certain situations
+ Makes getting parried not as punishing
Geonite
( 16.8%)
Upon being block broken, gain a shield that reduces the damage you take for 3 seconds (60s cooldown).
+ Grants you an amazing defensive layer
+ Prevents enemies from trying to burst you after a block break
+ Very good defensive Race overall
Primalis
( 13.6%)
You gain access to the Advanced Dash, which is an improved version of the regular dodge.
Your attacks apply bleed if you have Momentum.
+ Advanced Dash greatly improves your mobility and ability to dodge attacks
+ Being able to apply bleed is amazing both in PvE and PvP

You apply bleed only while you have Momentum
Draconic
( 11.2%)
You take 10% less flame damage, and your flame damage attacks deal more damage.
+ Very good Race for builds that use flame/fire damage

Not as universally useful as most other Races
Weaver
( 6.4%)
You gain increased climbing height and wallrun speed.
You apply poison with critical attacks (15s cooldown).
+ Increased climbing height and wallrun speed are really useful for exploring
+ You gain a reliable way of applying poison with attacks
+ Excellent Race for PvE grinding
Ashkin
( 4%)
You take much less fire damage from all sources.
+ Basically makes you overpowered when fighting enemies with fire/flame attacks

Situational usefulness makes it not so great overall
Seraphim
( 1.6%)
You gain access to Mana without having to complete the Soul Resonate quest.
While in a fight, you can temporarily see the HP bars of the enemies you are fighting.
+ Being able to see enemy HP during fights can be useful
+ Instant access to Mana saves you a bit of grinding early on

The most underwhelming Race overall, considering it is the rarest one

How to Reroll Your Race in Nethros

A player rerolling their race using Robux in the Nethros Roblox experience.
You can reroll your Race only while creating a new character.

There are two ways to reroll your Race in Nethros: using Robux to reroll it in the character creation menu and creating a new character. Each Race reroll costs 125 Robux. You can't get the same Race you currently have when rerolling, as that one is removed from the pool. Therefore, if you have a very common Race, such as Human, the chances of obtaining a rare Race are higher. Both of the above-mentioned methods can only be done during character creation. With that in mind, changing your Race in Nethros isn't possible after you finish creating a character.

How to Wipe Your Character in Nethros

  • A player checking their Soul bar in the Nethros Roblox experience.
  • A player choosing to wipe their character when interacting with The Origin NPC at the Gates of Guf in Nethros Roblox experience.

Now, if you don't want to spend Robux on rerolling your Race, you can do the classic move: wipe your character and create it again. However, this can be a bit tedious as you need to die 10 times in a row, fracturing your Soul bar fully, before you arrive at The Gates of Guf, where you can choose to wipe your character by interacting with The Origin NPC there.

To die quickly, you can either jump off a cliff into an area with no ground or provoke a nearby guard NPC to kill you. Your Soul status bar is located right above your HP, and you can hover over it to see how many more times you have to die before being transported into The Gates of Guf. Keep in mind that deaths caused by using the Respawn function in the ESC menu of Roblox do not decrease your Soul bar.

That sums up our Nethros Race tier list and reroll guide. Let us know which Race you managed to get and what you think of it in the comments below. For more information about the game, make sure to check out our Nethros Trello and beginner guides as well.

Nethros Race Tier List FAQs

I got a Race that isn't on the Race list in the creation menu?

This isn't a visual bug; it's just a design choice made by the developers for your current Race not to be on the list of Races in the creation menu.

What is the rarity of my Race?

Since you can't see the rarity of your Race during character creation, the only way to find it out is by referencing our Nethros Race list or by asking on the official Nethros Discord server.

Can you change your Race after creating a character?

No, once you've finished creating a character in Nethros, you can't change your Race afterwards.

Agent 64: Spies Never Die gameplay

It will never not blow my mind that one single person can create an entire video game, and this latest "whoa" moment came to me by way of a reminder of a demo I played a few years ago.

Agent 64: Spies Never Die has been in development by solo dev Replicant D6 for several years now, and I added it to my wishlist way back in 2022 when I first played the demo and had an absolute blast with it. The dev is aiming to create a "retro homage to 90s console shooters," and I think they nailed it.

Agent 64: Spies Never Die splitscreen multiplayer
Image via Replicant D6

The latest update about Agent 64 came last week, with the dev confirming that an online playtest is coming soon and the release date is around the corner. Yeah, along with a solo campaign, this GoldenEye 007 tribute will also feature multiplayer and mod support.

Everything from the movement, to the graphic style, to the ability to free-aim while standing still looks like it was ripped out of the Nintendo 64 era (hence the main character's codename), and a ton of features have been added over the past few years.

The solo (or split-screen co-op) campaign includes 14 missions where you can complete objectives in any order, a Paradox Mode with random and silly modifiers, Contracts like time trials and other challenges, and a PvP arena where you can play against bots or other players online. It looks like a ton of fun.

"While the game is pretty much feature complete, it needs a *lot* of QA, and translations too," the dev said. "And a good dev shouldn't underestimate those things. That's where the online playtest comes into play. You guys will be able to help with the last stretch of development before release."

The dev is asking for players to sign up for the playtest, and "as soon as the online mode is ready for testing, you'll be notified and you'll be able to jump in." For now, everything is relegated to Steam.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsGxG1GPN-A

You can sign up for the multiplayer playtest on Steam right now, and I highly suggest doing so, because this looks like it may be a surprise hit for the late period of 2025.

Battlefield 6 launch trailer screenshot of random celebrities

Well, the head-to-head battle between Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 officially began in earnest this weekend. And BF6 fired the first shots with its launch trailer.

Let me begin by saying that I have no stake in this battle. I root for good games, not franchises. I've enjoyed past Battlefields, and I've enjoyed past CoDs. I've admittedly enjoyed both series a bit less as time has worn on, but I'm always going to poke around and see what the next one is like.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EunkRPRzECg

First, let me give credit where it's due: the BF6 launch trailer is hilarious. It begins with four utterly random celebrities (actor Zac Efron, country musician Morgan Wallen, NBA player Jimmy Butler, and MMA fighter Paddy Pimblett) suited up as soldiers, ready to take on the world in the game. And then they get blown to absolute smithereens by a rocket as actual soldiers walk over their gibbed remains, and "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" by Smashing Pumpkins begins to play.

The first time I saw this yesterday, I lost my shit. I laughed for a good few minutes and replayed the scene a few times. CoD has repeatedly used random, gratuitous celebrity cameos in its live-action trailers, and this trailer was directly poking fun at it.

Not only that, but the Smashing Pumpkins song was already used in an actual CoD trailer just a few years ago for Modern Warfare II's multiplayer reveal. So, yeah, this was a direct attack on CoD in the lead-up to both games releasing a little over one month away from each other.

The more I think about it, though, the more I realize how petty and how much "little brother" vibes it gives. Why acknowledge CoD at all? Shouldn't BF6 be good enough to stand on its own merit? The game's beta was a massive success, and it should dominate when it comes to sales in October. Why even mention the elephant in the room at all?

I digress in the end, though, because I think the trailer did exactly what it was aiming to do, and that's get people talking. It evokes the spirit of competitive FPS trash talk without being overtly tasteless, so I give EA and its marketing partners a lot of credit for this one. Kudos.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0YQN_O3R1g

But I also can't shake the icky feeling that this wasn't necessary, either, so I guess I'm split on how to feel about this trailer. In the end, it's irrelevant as everything depends on how the games play, but what did you think about BF6's "shots fired" moment in the big-budget AAA FPS war of 2025? Let us know in the comments below.

BF6 launches on Oct. 10, while Black Ops 7 comes out on Nov. 14, and its beta test takes place this weekend.

Players running from enemies in Megabonk

The Powerup Multiplier is one of many stats in Megabonk, and it's essential to understand how it works.

Like all stats, the Powerup Multiplier affects how your build operates on a run. However, it doesn't directly impact the effectiveness of your build. Instead, it's more about Powerups and how they operate in Megabonk.

How does the Powerup Multiplier work in Megabonk

In a nutshell, the Powerup Multiplier amplifies the effects of any Powerup that you find on your run.

Powerups are different from tomes, weapons, and items. They look like items, but they're only temporary. The effects of a Powerup usually last for a limited amount of time. The Powerup Multiplier influences this number.

Stats in Megabonk
Screenshot by Destructoid

The higher your Powerup Multiplier stat, the better the impact. If you have a Powerup that amplifies the damage, having a high value on Powerup Multiplier will cause more damage. Similarly, Powerups will last longer when the Multiplier value is high.

You can raise the Powerup Multiplier stat by using suitable items and tomes. We have a tome and item tier list to determine which ones you'll prioritize for Powerups.

I would highly recommend that everyone invest well in the Powerup Multiplier stat. Powerups work well with any build. Naturally, powering them up should work well in every situation. Do note that Powerups spawn randomly, but you can raise the frequency with Powerup Drop Chance.

We have a detailed explainer if you want to know more about what every character stat means. There are plenty of stats to master, some of which are extremely important. The sooner you understand these stats, the better you'll be able to go for a meta build.
