Last month, a post caught some kind of virus and did the rounds, pondering why kids don't care about Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest so much anymore, wondering what they do plan now, and anecdotally findering that most of them just play Pokemon. I'm going to say it: bullet hells are more stressful than Souls-likes. Why are there 10,000 orbs approaching me, promising me misery and death! And I have to both tactfully dodge them while also staging a front myself? The visual information alone is enough to deteriorate the mind, memorising a list of attack patterns from some big dude with a sword seems like chump change by comparison. So this leaves me quite sweet on DeeSicks, a roguelike take on the game with physics-based dice rolling where god has died and you become your own boss.

Palworld has honestly lived, and thrived, a lot longer than I honestly expected to. I guess the people really do want Pokemon with guns! As since its launch two years ago (ignore the coffee I've spat over my screen at that passage of time), there have been announcements for spin-offs in the form of Stardew Valley if it were Pokemon but actually it's Palworld, a dating sim that started as a joke but will now be real, and more recently, a card game. Despite all of that expansion, however, developer Pocketpair say they have "no desire to be a media empire."

Converse x Hello Kitty Chuck Taylor All Star Are a Great Fit

When March 2026 kicked off, Sanrio and Converse announced a collection of Chuck Taylor All Star, Chuck 70, and Converse by You shoes and other merchandise with characters like Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, Kuromi, and Pompompurin on them. Essentially, taking foundation-level items in the line and embellishing them with characters. Some of the items ended up being incredibly obvious about the collaboration, like the Hello Kitty Chuck Taylor 70 Swarovski pair or Chuck 70 Stickers or Chuck Taylor All Star BFFs design. After wearing the a pair of the Converse x Hello Kitty and Friends Chuck Taylor All Star Picnic sneakers, I feel like the limited collection is at its best when it's slightly subtle about it.

First, I do recommend going to an actual Converse store to try on a Chuck Taylor All Star before you place any order. While the official site noted it "runs large" and recommends ordering a half-size down, I found it was true to my actual size. Plus, depending on how you like to style and wear high-tops, you might want to be sure it isn't too snug. 

The one thing I would note is be prepared to play around with the laces a bit when you first get a pair of the Converse x Hello Kitty and Friends Chuck Taylor All Star shoes. They are a great fit that are quite comfortable when worn, but it really is about getting them the way you like them first. If you want to use every one of the eyelets, you might need to get longer laces. (In the case of this Picnic variety, that would also mean restringing the charms when you thread the laces.) If you're unaccustomed to a high-top style, wear them for shorter distances while you get used to that extra support. Note that if you do decide to swap the laces, it will be a bit of an affair as there are four charms on them you'll need to replace as you go along.

Yup, I mentioned charms. If someone only quickly glances at the Converse x Hello Kitty and Friends Chuck Taylor All Star Picnic high-top sneakers while you're wearing the pair, the shoes might look like a typical black and white plaid pair. But the second you spend a little more time looking at them, it feels obvious references and more subtle Easter eggs show up. The outside panel where the ankle logo would be on each shoe features the "Hello Kitty and Friends" logo and a photo of Hello Kitty surrounded by Kuromi, Keroppi, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, Chococat, Badtz Maru, Pompompurin, Tuxedosam, and Pochacco. There's a strip of (fake) washi tape with Hello Kitty and Sanrio style tulips and daisies holding it in place. Other "sticker" designs shaped like elements such as a Sanrio-style crown, shoe, milk, star, rainbow, mushroom, and heart-shaped diamond surround it. What's also special about this image is that each shoe has a different photo. The character's expressions and poses are slightly changed, which is a great touch. On the inside of each show, the traditional Converse All Star ankle logo appears. That side also features additional "stickers" resembling things like strawberries and cherries. The heel patch license plate also proudly proclaims "Hello Kitty and Friends" with her red bow on the upper right corner on both shoes. 

But when you start looking closer, it gets even more fun. On the right shoe, there are rainbow and cloud charms on the laces, and the left has blue sneaker and yellow star ones. The upper-most eyelets each look like silver Hello Kitty bows. They're these little things that when you really look, you see there are extra nods to the characters and accents Sanrio includes with designs for its mascots, and they're carefully woven into the overall look. But at the same time, the Converse x Hello Kitty and Friends Chuck Taylor All Star Picnic high-top sneakers aren't inundated with those extras. I think the eyelet design is one of my favorite parts.

One of, because my actual favorite is something most people will never see and unfortunately will probably degrade with ordinary use. There are custom insoles for the Converse x Hello Kitty and Friends Chuck Taylor All Star Picnic high-tops that look like notebook paper and carry on the theme with their own design. The one in the right shoe is a little less exciting, as it just says "Converse" and "Hello Kitty and Friends" with the heart diamond, star, and crown "stickers" surrounding the logos. The left shoe, however, features additional "pictures" of the Sanrio mascots. It looks like a strip that comes out of a photo booth. At the top, Keroppi, Cinnamoroll, and Hello Kitty are together. The middle has Pochacco, Tuxedosam, Chococat, and Pompompurin striking a pose. The third feels like My Melody and Kuromi are fangirling over Badtz Maru. Again, the fake washi tape is "affixing" it to the lined notebook paper, with star and daisy "stickers" around it. It's so good (and also so comfortable), so I know I have to leave it in and use it. But I've already taken so many pictures so I'll remember how it looked after months and years of wear and tear.

Oh, right. These 100% feel like standard Converse quality shoes. The insoles are really substantial and comfortable, so they feel like they are for actual use and not just decoration. The picnic plaid of this particular design also feels really versatile and like it could go with lots of different outfits. The canvas fabric feels sturdy too. At the same time, since it isn't a plain, white sneaker with accents, I'm a little less concerned about them getting dirty. Sure, the outsole is white, but since there aren't any additional decorations on them aside from the black line, it'll be easy enough to clean. (I've been wiping down the sides and the toe cap, just to be safe.) Converse also provides pretty detailed instructions for cleaning and it isn't too difficult, especially since I'd want to hand-wash them and not toss limited edition shoes into a machine, so I'm feeling confident they'll hold up.

Basically, I feel like the Converse x Hello Kitty and Friends Chuck Taylor All Star Picnic high-top sneakers are limited edition shoes I don't have to "baby." I can actually wear and enjoy them. The design also means the Sanrio homage is also pretty obvious, but not garish. They feel like a practical sort of splurge.

How to start the Simon de Montfort bounty in Crimson Desert

To begin the bounty, you'll need to find the poster in Hernand City. You can find the poster on a lamp post, and the location will be random. Alternatively, you can also find the poster on the notice board in Hernand City. You can find the notice board on the map.

For the bounty to pop up, you'll need to clear all the previous ones. If the bounty isn't active, you can find it under House Celestee, and you can activate it from there. This will help you to complete the bounty in an easier fashion.

To find Simon de Montfort, you'll need to head to southwest Hernand, near a roadside beehive. The location will be marked on your map once you activate the bounty. You can reach the location from Senia in the southwest Hernand Highlands. Go west from there, and then climb over the rocks to avoid the Bismuth trail blockage.

This route might be longer in length, but it's better to avoid going through the Bismuth trail blockage directly.

When you reach the location, look for Simon de Montfort (he will be highlighted on the minimap). Get close to him, and you'll get the prompt to land a tackle. Pin him to the ground and land a few hits before you get the chance to tie him up.

Then, pick up the tied-down Simon de Montfort and deliver him to the nearest constabulary. You'll get 8 Silver for returning him alive (reduced to four if he dies in the capture attempt).

How to start Salvatore bounty in Crimson Desert

Like all bounties, the one for Salvatore can be found in Hernand City. You can look for such lamp posts all around Hernand City. You can also find the bounty on the notice board in the city. The notice board will be highlighted with a purple icon on the map.

Once you find the poster, it will provide you with all the necessary information for finding Salvatore. His hideout is located in the southernmost part of Hernand near the Sunset Valley. Once you head to Sunset Valley, go to the back of the town. Here, you'll find the windmill.

Once you enter the windmill, you'll find Salvatore over there. He will try to flee upon seeing you. Get close to tackle him down, and tie him up. Then, pick and carry him to the nearest constabulary in Hernand. Make sure to deliver him alive, as that will increase the total rewards that you receive.

When you complete this bounty, you'll get 12 Silver as your reward (reduced if he dies in the process).

A man who alleges he is a programmer at Roblox has been arrested in New Orleans after being charged with child pornography possession as well as possession of a child sex doll. Jamie Borne's arrest comes months after the state of Louisiana sued Roblox, alleging it allowed "child predators [to] thrive" on the platform.

A man from New Orleans, Jamie Borne, was arrested Friday on charges of child pornography possession and possessing a child sex doll, claiming he works as a programmer on Roblox, a gaming platform primarily used by young children and teenagers, according to WBRZ-TV.

"Probation and parole officers discovered a child-sized sex doll while conducting a compliance check on 30-year-old Jamie Borne on St. Andrew Street in New Orleans," WRBZ-TV reports.

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murril also shared the news of Borne's arrest, saying he was charged with "40 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of 13 and possessing, trafficking, or importing a child sex doll." The sex doll was "dressed in a onesie," she added.

According to WBRZ2, Roblox Corporation dismissed Borne's claims, saying he "has never worked for the company."

"The individual is not, and has never been, a Roblox employee," the company told that news channel.

This arrest comes months after Louisiana AG Liz Murril filed a lawsuit against Roblox Corporation, alleging it "has permitted and perpetuated an online environment in which child predators thrive, directly contributing to the widespread victimization of minor children in Louisiana."

Roblox has been the target of several similar lawsuits over the last few months, such as the one from LA County, itself alleging that children in its jurisdiction "have been repeatedly exposed to sexually explicit content, exploitation, and grooming on Roblox."

How to start Warren Bounty in Crimson Desert

To begin the Warren Bounty, you'll need to view the poster from a lamp post. These lamp posts don't have fixed locations, but you can find them all around Hernand. You can also find the poster on the notice board in Hernand City.

Once you find the notice board, you'll find all the relevant details of the bounty on the poster. The details include the last-seen location of Warren, and you have to trace him from there. You can find Warren in the southern part of the Pororin region. This is a trick area to reach if you take the direct route.

Instead, you need to complete The Unreachable Village quest. You'll need to interact with Arkin and Shai. Then, you have to retrieve the Relic of Pororin and deliver it back to Arkin. This will allow you to access the Pororin Forest area.

How to complete the Warren bounty in Crimson Desert

The Pororin Forest area will allow you to access the location where Warren is hiding. You'll first need to attack him to knock him down. Once done, carry him on a horse, and drop him at the nearest constabulary to get your rewards. You'll get 25 Silver as a reward for completing the bounty.

Based on how much I've been talking about it since before it launched, you can tell by now how much I care for Crimson Desert. Though not a perfect game by any stretch of the imagination, I still consider it a worthwhile experience that rewards you for sticking with it through thick and thin.

Now that a few days have passed since launch, players are starting to get past the worst problem the game has: a very, very bad start. The result? They seem to absolutely love it, and rightfully so.

In my review, I explained how Crimson Desert initially feels very disconnected, as if there were several narratives stitched together with little in between holding them together. You just do things and have no idea why, though when you recontextualize it by considering it's the White Crow urging Kliff to do good and be kind, it starts becoming clear, even if the game itself doesn't present it well.

These initial hours and their disjointed nature have put off so many people so far that it's genuinely incredible. So many have either quit or played a bit more and then went on to complain about it on Reddit or even left a negative review for the game on Steam just so they could tell the world that no, they did not bother sticking with a 200-hour title and gave up after merely 60 minutes or so.

As the weekend goes on, more and more people are progressing far enough to see the real charm of Crimson Desert and are being rewarded by strong moments both in gameplay and in the story, which itself becomes much more coherent and focused after the Greymane camp gets built.

And those players aren't keeping silent, even if they're making jokes about the whole ordeal.

Though the user in question says it's a "12 hour slog," it's actually not that long. It takes some five or six hours to get through that first bit and to reach the Greymane camp if you're focusing primarily on the main story, but it can stretch to eight or so hours if you do stuff on the sides as well (which you should, lots of fun to be had there).

Replies seem to be of a similar opinion, portrayed so well by the meme above.

"There are people out there that dislike the game, and it's fair, but the people who stick through it and continue on will be glad they did," one user said, and they have a mighty fine point there. There's a lot to dislike about Crimson Desert, and especially so if you're the kind of player who overwhelming, massive 200-hour experiences do not invite you to stay with them for a very long time.

"Takes a bit, but once it starts clicking, it really starts clicking," wrote another.

Crimson Desert is the slowest of burners I can think of, and it does take a while to pick up the slack. I won't stand here and defend the game to death, mind you, as its initial stages are genuinely so undercooked that I can almost understand people upping and leaving after being underwhelmed by what's in front of them.

However, since Crimson Desert promises you hundreds of hours of gameplay, why wouldn't you tag along for the ride and see where it takes you? After all, you're judging a massive experience, you can see it has a lot to offer anyway, and giving up after landing in the starting zone. For a game of this size, you're basically in the tutorial and telling everyone that you quit while still learning the ropes, deciding to bash a huge game without even giving it a fair chance.

Sure, the refund window is probably on your mind when dipping your toes into a gigantic, expensive title such as this one. Seventy bucks is nothing to scoff at, so I get why people would do it.

But I still fail to understand why such a negative sentiment would start chasing after a game if it's being primarily felt by those who never got to see anything it has to show.

We'll see as time goes on whether sentiments will change, and on sites like Metacritic, it seems both players and critics can agree for once. Now, as more folks are starting to explore beyond just the city of Hernand, the wind might also start changing direction.

And I sincerely hope it does, as there is genuine quality to be found in Crimson Desert. All it takes is time and patience, which I understand not everyone has.

In recent times, games have become bigger than ever. The quality of the content doesn't even matter anymore, so long as a title has as much stuff in it as possible, coherent or not.

Crimson Desert, while it pays special heed to the quality of its content, is a game that genuinely has so many things in it that it becomes super difficult to keep track of it all. One mechanic, which has players confused with no proper explanation, is your Lantern suddenly emitting a blue glow when you pass through certain areas.

Since you've almost certainly seen this at least once, here's what it means exactly.

If you've walked by an area and suddenly saw your Lantern glow blue, it is because you've come near a memory fragment, which can be interacted with for new information, either about a specific task or just the lore and the world of Pywel. Once your Lantern starts glowing, you need to use it and point it toward the memory, which you will sometimes have to search a bit for.

Once you've pointed it at the memory, showing up in the game as blurry figures moving around, you're going to concentrate on it until the learning bar fills up. Once it does, equip the Visione helmet you got from one of the main quests and then hit the prompt given to you on the bottom right of your screen (ESC button for PC users).

By doing so, you will have entered the memory fragment and will be able to watch the memory unfold, providing you with extra context or information and allowing you to see Pywel from another's perspective, even if it doesn't end up giving you the extra knowledge necessary to complete a quest.

Memory fragments can be found just about anywhere in the world, though I've most often come across them in areas that experienced some strong emotions, such as grave sites, burned buildings, the St. Halssius House of Healing, and so on.
