PCGamesN Tuesday, December 3, 2024 6:14 PM After going hands-on with the latest Delta Force build ahead of its launch into public beta this week, I stepped away from my PC with mostly positive feelings. CoD Mobile developer Team Jade's revival of the iconic series doesn't bring anything particularly groundbreaking to the table with its multiplayer offering, yet the free-to-play FPS may burrow its way into my gaming rotation with its polished gunplay and moreish action. Upon loading into Delta Force I was greeted by two very different experiences to sample: the Battlefield-esque Havoc Warfare and the Tarkov-lite Hazard Operations. Havoc Warfare is certainly a valid descriptor for the more traditional multiplayer game mode. Within the first ten seconds of loading into a 64-player game of Hill of Iron, a vehicle-filled king of the hill mode, I was dead, picked off mercilessly by a sniper perched on Ascension's rocky clifftops. Piloting new character Toxin, a support-based operative who utilizes an uzi by default, it was clear that I would need to make liberal use of whatever cover was available to me out in the field to avoid an untimely end. For a limited time, a Pingu cafe will open up in Oshiage, Tokyo. This is to commemorate the 45th anniversary of Pingu. [Thanks, PR Times!]
You can check out the official website for pictures of the merchandise and food items you'll be able to buy at the cafe. Most of the food you can order resembles scenes or items from the show itself. For example, there's a cream rice dish that looks like Pingu and Pinga building an igloo. There's also the Noot Noot Float that looks like Pingu's head is floating on top of your drink, and a replica of what Pingu and his family eat during meals.
As for the merchandise, you can get:
Pingu is a Swiss children's television series featuring Pingu, a young emperor penguin who lives in South Pole with his family. Because there's very little real dialog in the show and the characters all speak in gibberish, viewers from all around the world can watch and understand it. In particular, Pingu is very popular in Japan and there was even a Japanese-produced reboot titled Pingu in the City.
The Pingu cafe will open for business in Oshiage from December 19, 2024 to February 9, 2025.

FromSoftware representative director Hidetaka Miyazaki recently revealed that the studio is currently working on various new games. The developer didn't reveal any information beyond their development, and didn't give them any names, but confirmed that they are being directed by different people. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
Hidetaka Miyazaki participated in an interview with Game Watch to celebrate the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC expansion winning the Grand Award of the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024. When asked about the studio's next games, the developer confirmed that FromSoftware is currently handling development of multiple new games of different genres.
However, Miyazaki couldn't reveal which genres they are. One of FromSoftware's new projects is under the direction of Hidetaka Miyazaki, while others are directed by other developers. The developer also didn't specify the number of new games in development. Miyazaki added that he thinks having various different people directing the studio's new games will help show players the "new" FromSoftware.
As a reminder, Sony is currently in talks to acquire Kadokawa, which is the parent company of FromSoft as well as other studios, and is a major player in the Japanese book publishing industry.
Elden Ring and the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC are readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

More Sanrio characters dressed up like Yu-Gi-Oh monsters will appear as merchandise in the Kaiba Corporation Store. Every 2,200 JPY you spend on these items will net you a free postcard.
The monsters and mascots mash-ups are more or less the same as when McDonald's offered these Sanrio and Yu-Gi-Oh toys in its Happy Meals. You'll be able to collect: Dark Magician Hello Kitty, Dark Magician Girl My Melody, Blue Eyes White Dragon Cinnamoroll, Red Eyes Black Dragon Badtzmaru, Slifer the Sky Dragon Kuromi, Obelisk the Tormentor Hangyodon, Winged Dragon of Ra Tuxedosam, Kuriboh Keroppi, Time Wizard Pochacco, and Exodia Pompompurin.
As for the merchandise, here are the items and prices:
You can also purchase items that have the characters from the original Yu-Gi-Oh series, but drawn in the Sanrio style. Characters are Yugi, Yami Yugi, Kaiba, Joey, Malik, and Yami Bakura. Aside from the usual acrylic stands and keychains, you can also buy boxes for little items or card holders. These card holders are for things like transit cards, not a deck of playing cards.
The Sanrio and Yu-Gi-Oh collaboration items are available for pre-order until December 9, 2024, and they'll ship out at the end of January 2025.

More people in Japan have been downloading the KFC app this year than in the previous three years, likely as a result of the Genshin Impact and Umamusume: Pretty Derby collaborations. During the collaborations, KFC reached the top of the rankings in Japan for food-related apps. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
Sensor Tower published this research. Between August and October 2024, KFC in Japan had collaboration campaigns with Umamusume: Pretty Derby and Genshin Impact. More downloads occur during these times. In particular, October 2, 2024 (the day that the Genshin Impact collaboration started) saw the highest number of people downloading the KFC app in these past three years.
This is due to both games' popularity, as well as the collaboration items being limited to online orders. In Japan, KFC is a Christmas tradition and so the holiday season is usually when a lot of people download the app to order some fried chicken for themselves or their family. But, thanks to the 20,000 new users from the Umamusume campaign and the 40,000 from Genshin Impact, the app's download numbers have already surpassed 2023's Christmas.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby is readily available on the Windows PC and mobile devices. Genshin Impact is on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

Bandai Namco announced that its next character in its Pokemon Plastic Model Kit Quick collection will be Pawmi from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The new kit will release in April 2025. It will cost 715円 (~$5).
As this is one of the simpler model kits, there are no extravagant extra parts. The picture of the model kit sprues shows two sheets with 21 pieces. These are already in the colors you need, so no painting is required. A sticker sheet comes with for extra accents. No glue is required, and you don't need a nipper to remove the parts. The final item will be 82mm (~3in) long. There are no moving parts or extra faces.
Here's how the Pawmi will look when complete:
No retailers that ship to the US are showing the Pawmi Pokemon Quick model kit yet. However, the AmiAmi Japanese branch already has a listing for 530円 (~$4), so we could start seeing it showing up at other stores. These Bandai Spirits kits do tend to appear worldwide, with Entertainment Earth already carrying the Psyduck entry in this line that released this fall and Amazon offering others like the Charmander and Quaxly.
While kits in this line are more rudimentary, Bandai Namco does make more elaborate ones. The upcoming Meowscarada one, which launches in February 2025, is an example. However, they also end up being more expensive as a result.
The Pawmi Pokemon Quick model kit will release in Japan in April 2025. It's likely we'll see it worldwide sometime after. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.

Wright Flyer Studios announced the next major Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space crossover, and it involves the original Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout game. Starting on December 5, 2024, players can take part in the crossover that features multiple characters from the Koei Tecmo and Gust JRPG.
The three playable characters in the crossover are Ryza, Klaudia, and Empel. WFS didn't note acquisition methods, but in past events there would typically be a character to earn and others available in the gacha. The event storyline will also feature Lent, Lila, and Tao as non-playable participants. To tie in with the Atelier entry, people will be able to gather while exploring maps and use those items in Synthesis to craft items via alchemy. The battle system will also slightly change to include Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout's Core Items, Fatal Drive, and Order Skills.
What's interesting is that all of the Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout Japanesevoice actors will return to reprise their roles in Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space.
This is the list of all the performers returning for their roles:
Here's the official trailer:
Crossovers aren't uncommon in Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space. Characters from other games and series often come up. Most recently, there was a The King of Fighters event in August 2024. That added characters like Kyo Kusanagi, Terry Bogard, Mai Shiranui, and Kula Diamond. In December 2023, an Octopath Traveler crossover added characters from the console and mobile games like Cyrus, Partitio, and Tithi. One of the most notable ones involved a storyline and characters from Persona 5 Royal.
Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space is available for the PC and mobile devices. Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. The Atelier Ryza crossover event starts in Another Eden on December 5, 2024.

Shueisha's new Shonen Jump+ magical girl manga one shot story by Black Pink artist is called Pretty Guardian Stress. The story focuses on the reality of the life of a heroine and her encounter with a young girl more accustomed to traditional magical girls. The full story dropped on MangaPlus on December 3, 2024 and is free-to-read.
Pretty Guardian Stress begins with a kaiju attacking a city. A magical girl known as Pretty Guardian Aika steps up to stop them. However, while her initial introduction seems like the typical poppy and perky one you'd expect from that kind of heroine, she quickly drops the act. She then gives the monster the finger, blames them for her having to do that job, and brutally beats the creature up. However, a magical girl-loving young girl named Mei hears the commotion, comes over, stops Aika from killing the monster's baby, and then ends up getting a firsthand look at what life as a heroine is really like. This includes the toll it takes on the woman who has to perform that job.
Miyaumi Tomotaka is known for only one other work so far. That's the one shot manga known as Black Pink, which also appeared in Shonen Jump+. It isn't available through MangaPlus, though the original Japanese is version is still online. That debuted in 2022 and followed an assassin named Momo who just wants to marry her boyfriend. That story was a Monthly Rookie Grand Prix winner at the time, winning the silver award.
There have been a number of full series recently launching in Shonen Jump. In the middle of November 2024, Bug Ego and Syd Craft started their runs. Drama Queen also debuted on December 1, 2024.
The Pretty Guardian Stress one shot manga is available to read now worldwide, and it is unknown if it could end up spinning off eventually to a full magical girl series.

As usual, the Special Program will be about a half hour long. It will go over the new characters joining in the update, the new storyline quest, and events present in 1.4. We'll also see one new code for Polychromes that is valid for one day. The announcement also confirmed the development team will discuss the new content this time. The full Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable experience is heading to the Meta Quest line of headsets in this month, as it leaves early access on December 17, 2024. How it handles this approach works differently depending on whether or not you purchased the Part 1 early access build or not. Regardless of which path you take, you end up with a full game that gives you Omni-Directional Mobility (ODM) gear and sends you against titans with the Survey Corps.
Here's how it works. If you are completely new to Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable, you buy the Complete Edition. That costs $19.99. It gives you both parts of the experience. The Part 1 early access release is $4.99, and it is available now. However, after the full build launches, that price jumps to $7.99. The Part 2 portion, which will be sold for those who bought Part 1, costs $12. If someone has Part 1 and 2, then they get everything in the full Complete Edition.
Since the full version is about to release, we also know what Univrs will make available right away and after launch. Part 2 adds two more chapters and multiplayer co-op. After launch, there will be limited Global Challenge events to tackle and an eventual Survival Mode where you take on titans and stay alive as long as possible. We should also see and expect improvements to both the base experience available now alongside other updates for the full game.
There's a new trailer that shows what to expect now that the full version of the game is upon us. It features many, many titans breaching the walls of the city and attacking.
Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable Complete Edition and Part 2 will launch for the Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro on December 17, 2024. The Part 1 early access release is available now. The anime is streaming on Crunchyroll, and Kodansha handles the manga.

Back in November 2024, the Dragon Ball Daima English dub debuted in theaters, and now we have a release date for when we'll get to start streaming it on Crunchyroll. The episodes will first start rolling out on January 10, 2025.
The English dub won't be available everywhere. It's only confirmed for five places so far. If you are in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the United States, you'll be able to start watching on January 10, 2025. Also, even though the first three episodes were in English during the initial debut, only episode one will appear that day. Subsequent episodes will roll out each week after that.
The announcement also means the reveal of more English voice actors for the Dragon Ball Daima dub. Back at NYCC 2024, Crunchyroll revealed Stephanie Nadolny plays Goku (Mini) and Glorio is voiced by Aaron Dismuke. Now the full English cast was revealed. Here's the list Crunchyroll shared:
The initial theatrical debut of the Dragon Ball Daima English dub only covered the first three episodes of the show. As of December 3, 2024, eight are available in the original Japanese with localized subtitles on Crunchyroll. The ninth debuts on December 6, 2024.
Dragon Ball Daima is streaming on Crunchyroll now, and past entries in the series can be found on the service as well. Viz Media handles the publication of Dragon Ball manga volumes outside of Japan.
