PCGamesN Tuesday, January 11, 2022 6:54 PM Humble has been heavily experimenting with how to present its bundles since Humble Monthly was ended in favour of Humble Choice, and the response from long-time users of the store have been mixed. Now prices are dropping for that bundle starting in February, and as part of the revamp, Humble is trying to add yet another app to your ever-growing collection of PC game launchers. Starting with the February bundle, the Humble Choice price is dropping to $11.99 USD, and that single price will get you access to every game in the collection. "The exact number of games might vary each month", but you will keep permanent access to any games you've picked up through the bundle. Keys for these games will continue to be provided through keys for platforms like Steam, Origin, Epic, and GOG. Then there's the Humble app. Through this app, Humble will provide access to a Game Pass-style selection of games for the duration of your subscription, starting with Forager, Wizard of Legend, Dodgeball Academia, Unsighted, and Void Bastards. The old Humble Trove is becoming the Vault, which will continue to offer a selection of DRM-free bonus indie games, as always. RELATED LINKS: Void Bastards gameplay, Best space games |
PCGamesN Tuesday, January 11, 2022 6:18 PM If you tend to find yourself anywhere near anime circles these days, you've probably heard that Attack on Titan's final season (for real this time) has gotten underway. Perhaps this occasion has given you cause to wonder 'how would Attack on Titan look in a videogame with a more realistic art style?' Well, your extremely specific inquiry is answered, friend, thanks to Call of Duty. The new Tracer Pack: Attack on Titan - Levi Edition Bundle sadly doesn't actually let you play as fan-favourite Levi Ackermann, but it does let you dress up CoD operator Daniel Yatsu in Levi's own gear. The bundle also includes weapon blueprints for AoT-appropriate assault rifles and a 'Titan Piercer' blade, but the real kicker is the 'Secret Keeper' charm. Yes, it's that damn key. Call of Duty hasn't gone quite as crossover-heavy as Fortnite, and its crossovers have tended more toward action and horror films than anything else. But now, it's anime. Is this supposed to be the metaverse everyone's so excited about? |
PCGamesN Tuesday, January 11, 2022 5:18 PM God of War is, at last, ditching PlayStation exclusivity with a PC release. If you're especially excited about that fact, you might want to get in as close to launch as you can manage - and luckily, the devs at Santa Monica Studio have confirmed that pre-loads will soon be available on Steam, as well as when you can expect them to begin. Pre-loads for God of War on Steam begin on Wednesday, January 12 at 8am PST / 11am EST / 4pm GMT. Since the God of War system requirements recommend 70GB of hard drive space, it's safe to expect a similar download size for the game. Sadly, the devs have not yet provided any specific unlock times for the game, or info on pre-loads via the Epic Games Store. The God of War release date is set for January 14 on Steam and Epic, and you can pick it up at a price of $49.99 / £39.99 / €49.99. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Tuesday, January 11, 2022 7:41 PM Wordle has engrossed me for a couple of weeks, along with much of the rest of the internet. It's also a free, simple word game, meaning it's relatively easy to recreate. Naturally, other developers are building their own twists on its core. Among them, Absurdle is my favourite, an "adversarial version" of the game where the winning word changes as you guess. I'm also fond of Sweardle, however, a version designed for four-letter words. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Tuesday, January 11, 2022 7:08 PM Microsoft don't intend to do away with selling individual games anytime soon. That's the takeaway from Xbox head Phil Spencer's recent interview with the New York Times. "The retail market continues to be very strong and grow. So let's make sure we offer our customers choice between subscriptions and transactions," says Spencer. |

PC Invasion - FeedDDD Tuesday, January 11, 2022 7:15 PM If you've been wondering exactly what ELEX II's combat would be like, well, wonder no longer, as the game has just had a new combat trailer drop showing off in-game action that gives us a better idea of the game's fighting. The game is set for release on March 1, and is promising some major improvements on top of what the previous game had on offer, so there isn't long at all to wait. Until launch, there's even a special 10% off pre-order incentive for anyone that wants to jump in on day one without paying full price. The trailer kicks off peacefully with birds flying overhead, people kneeling, and one character wandering around lost in thought. But then another character in armor is shown carefully walking outside in a large world before being attacked by a vicious beast. The trailer then cuts rapidly between various shots of the main character battling the game's enemies, both human and machine alike. ELEX II features such weapons as a sw... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Tuesday, January 11, 2022 6:45 PM Up to this point, the only post-launch additions that developer Amplitude Studios have implemented in its strategy game Humankind have come in the form of free updates. Now, though, Amplitude plans to switch things up by releasing its first paid DLC expansion for Humankind, dubbed Cultures of Africa. As the name implies, Cultures of Africa allows players to develop six new African civilizations, one for each of the game's six time periods. Additionally, the DLC provides players with "new natural and built wonders, independent people, and 15 new narrative events." Players can experience this new expansion once it drops on January 20. According to a press release, the six new civilizations in the DLC represent "the first additions to [the] original roster of 60 cultures." These new cultures include the Bantu for the Ancient Era, the Garamantes for the Classical Era, the Swahili for the Medieval Era, the Maasai for the Early Modern Era, the Ethiopians for ... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Tuesday, January 11, 2022 6:15 PM Bungie is fixing to launch its newest expansion for Destiny 2 with The Witch Queen on February 22. To whet players' appetites, the developer dropped a new trailer alongside some juicy tidbits that are sure to get people pumped to check out what the latest installment has in store for them. The Witch Queen is Destiny 2's piece of content for Year 5, following on from late 2020's Beyond Light, and the previous year's Shadowkeep. More expansions are planned through 2024, culminating with one that's meant to close out the current story saga and prepare for the next one. It's good to be prepared, I guess. The trailer starts off slowly, with a lone Guardian surveying some ruins. Before long, they're joined by a few others as an ominous green sky gives way to shadowy interiors. But the peace doesn't last for long, as enemies flood into the chamber in which they're standing, requiring them to put up a shield and fight for their lives. We... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Tuesday, January 11, 2022 5:00 PM Okomotive and publisher Frontier Developments are just about ready to let the atmospheric discovery game FAR: Changing Tides loose onto the world. Shown off last year in June, Changing Tides dives deeper into the world imagined by FAR: Lone Sails. Of course, the adventure isn't quite the same. New challenges and dangers await when FAR: Changing Tides hits its release date of March 1. The big change between the two games revolves around how you traverse the environment. Lone Sails saw you on a solo adventure while piloting a massive ground vehicle. You needed to keep the metal beast running, completing environmental puzzles to continue on the journey. FAR: Changing Tides, however, puts you out on a large ship traversing the ocean. Some gameplay elements remain the same. Like the vehicle before it, the ship is a clunky monstrosity that requires plenty of TLC to keep it chugging along. There will still be light puzzles to solve, and a world of mystery to uncover. However, ... |
