Set in a brand-new water-based biome, players will be able to travel in boats, encounter multiple new enemy types, mine new valuables, experiment with new base building elements, and discover new fish, plants, and food. The Sunken Sea, which is planned for release in June, will introduce a new water-based biome into the game, more transport methods, new weapons and gear, as well as four new enemies and fauna. The update will also bring nice quality-of-life improvements like map markers. Pugstorm has also revealed that the game now features support for dedicated servers, allowing players to host multiplayer worlds for anyone to access at any time. Player-hosted multiplayer has also been updated to support Steam's networking backend, which should solve a lot of the networking issues players previously encountered. But it was only recently that developer CCP Games and Microsoft made it official, announcing the forthcoming Eve Online-Microsoft Excel integration at this year's Eve Fanfest in Reykjavik. And like so many lasting friendships, this one began at the pub. "A few of the CCP women went out for drinks, and one was our bizdev person," explains Emily Akland, an Eve Online brand manager. "They were starting to joke around that spreadsheets in space is such a fun concept - and they were like, 'Wouldn't it be crazy if we just reached out [to Microsoft] and see what happens?'" As the three women - VP of publishing Eyrún Jónsdóttir, business development manager Anna Katrín Ólafsdóttir, and Eve Online director of growth Anna Kozko - continued to discuss the idea, the less crazy it seemed. They brought the idea up to the rest of Eve Online's management, and Ólafsdóttir said she knew someone at Microsoft who they could call. First off, the biggest thing coming in LoL update 12.10 is a load more High Noon skins for various Champions. Patch 12.9 added some of these snappy new skins for the likes of Katarina, Leona, and more, and now 12.10 brings in five new ones, including Samira, Sion, and Twitch. As previously announced, 12.10 also buffs the durability of every single champion, as part of Riot's goal to "slow the pace" of the game's combat so damage isn't so much of a focus. To that end, base health, health per level, armour per level, and magic resistance per level have all been increased across the board - so matches might not be over so quickly now. The report names this past year as the most profitable in Capcom's history, thanks in part to Resident Evil 8 shifting 6.1 million copies in its first eleven months on sale. The latest entry in Capcom's survival horror game series, which was named Steam's best game of 2021 in a user vote, managed to top sales of 2019's Resident Evil 2 remake in its first two months. Having now sold 6.1 million copies since its release in May 2021, the spooky FPS game is closing in on RE2's reported 9.3 million sales to date and predecessor Resident Evil 7: Biohazard's figure of 10.6 million. Were it to top both of those, only Monster Hunter: World (17.8 million) would sit above it as the studio's best-selling game of all time - although it's worth noting that this statistic is for individual releases and doesn't include the combined sales totals of all the various releases and re-releases of Resident Evil 4 (over 10 mil), RE5 (over 13 mil), and RE6 (over 11 mil). With new content based around iconic characters from throughout the franchise's history, now could be the ideal time for fans of the movies and TV show to dive head first into the MMO. Star Trek: Online - Stormfall will focus on Admiral Janeway (from Star Trek: Voyager) and Admiral Leeta (from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) as they venture into the Mirror Universe for a rescue mission. Along the way, they'll meet an Andoran rebel known as "Rae-Yeet" (played by Noah Averbach-Katz, who played the Andoran, Ryn, in Star Trek: Discovery), and come up against the dreaded Captain Sylvia Tilly (from Star Trek Discovery). The new expansion is broken down into two episodes. The first, titled Blue Shift, details the kidnapping of Ilia (from Star Trek: The Motion Picture) by the Terran Empire, with the player left to rescue her and figure out why she was taken. Then the second episode, The Calling, deals with the Terran Empire's attempts to summon a powerful being to be their ally. The popular war game's next big event sees Godzilla and King Kong duke it out while you and your team battle it out against everyone else in the lobby to be the last one standing. Operation Monarch is a limited-time mode that puts a beastly spin on the usual Quads offering. You'll have to contend with Godzilla circling the map as he intermittently creates dangerous areas with his heat ray, while King Kong will leap around and crush anyone unfortunate enough to be standing where he lands. Now and then, the Titan Frenzy alert will disrupt the general rhythm of the match. When this happens, you'll want to deal damage to one of the monsters as they start attacking more aggressively. Not only will you repel the danger, but you'll get a S.C.R.E.A.M device if your squad deals the most damage. The device is essentially a killstreak that allows you to direct an attack from King Kong or Godzilla at a point in the map. You can also get a S.C.R.E.A.M device by filling your intel meter, which can be done through scavenging, hitting supply drops, or damaging the big beasts. |

PCGamesN Wednesday, May 11, 2022 7:48 AM  Valorant players have discovered a game-breaking bug in the FPS game's new 4.09 patch which allows abilities including grenades, satchels, and even ultimates to be thrown through a wall on the Ascent map towards the attacking team's spawn. The Valorant 4.09 update arrived yesterday, with a focus on nerfs to Chamber and some tweaks to new agent Fade. It didn't take long for players to observe a particularly egregious bug, however. One Site B wall on Ascent seems to be ignoring collision from one side, allowing agents to send any thrown abilities straight through the wall in the direction of the attackers' spawn. This glitch appears to only be happening in one direction - abilities thrown from the other side bounce off the wall as expected. This spot wasn't mentioned in the patch notes, so it seems likely that this was an unintentional side-effect of a minor tweak. This will come as no small consolation to players having to deal with all manner of flashbangs, satchel charges, and even Raze's showstopper rocket launcher ultimate which come flying at them through the supposedly impenetrable terrain. The showcased chips give us a glimpse at the 14th gen processor's design, including a smaller package that aims to bring the tech to future handheld gaming PC devices. Shared by PC Watch, the Intel Meteor Lake CPU packages comprise normal and high-density designs, both of which feature the same configuration. Naturally, the larger variant will cater to devices like gaming laptops, while the latter is intended for smaller machines. Upon closer inspection, it looks like Meteor Lake will ditch PCH (Platform Controller Hub) dies, as it seemingly merges it into a four tie-die instead. Intel's new tile approach to CPU design should facilitate flexibility, as it'll let the company swap out configurations to create new variants. The tech giant hasn't unveiled any Meteor Lake desktop chips, but it did previously confirm that scaled up 125W models are coming (via Wccftech). The challenging RPG has further solidified developer FromSoftware as a mainstream success, eclipsing sales of their previous titles such as Dark Souls III, which sold just over three million copies worldwide in its first month of release - at the time the fastest-selling title in Bandai Namco's history. A previous report stated that cumulative worldwide sales of Elden Ring had exceeded 12 million by March 16, meaning that it racked up another 1.4 million units sold in the last two weeks of that month. The acclaimed open-world co-op game still has a way to go to reach the combined Dark Souls series sales, which Bandai Namco reported had reached 27 million in 2020. It was also recently reported that almost half of Elden Ring's EU sales were on PC, making the PC version the most popular, with its total units sold outstripping the combined sales numbers on PS4 and PS5. To further put these numbers into perspective, FromSoftware's previous title Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice sold 5 million copies in just over a year. MigaIsNotACat demonstrates the 90s operating system running on the portable powerhouse in a Twitter video, and you don't even have to get rid of SteamOS to experience the nostalgia. Miga's Steam Deck macOS mashup idea has actually been a long time in the making, as the tinkerer promised he'd put System 7.1 on the device back in 2021. Now that the vintage tech lover has got his hands on the handheld, he says he may well be the first person to run the 90s Apple operating system on the Deck while lacing the claims with an unapologetic "no, I'm not sorry" note. While you'd think it'd be easier to install Windows 11 on your Steam Deck, the fact you can launch macOS 7 using the handheld's interface says otherwise. It's worth noting that Windows also isn't quite as good as SteamOS on the handheld, so unless the ability to dual boot shows up soon, you're better off sticking with the Deck's default. Warzone Pacific Season 2 introduced the production of a deadly chemical, Nebula V, which has attracted Godzilla and Kong to Caldera, although no one knows exactly what they're doing on the island, but both monsters can be enraged into a frenzy. The Warzone Operation Monarch event was teased on the Call of Duty Twitter, showing new unique weapon skins based on the Titans, with bundles available for Kong, Godzilla, and Mechagodzilla which can be found in this Call of Duty blog post. It used to take up practically all of my time, and now it's sat there neglected on my PC for the better part of a year or so. Even with King Kong and Godzilla arriving in the game today, I'm still playing Fortnite over it, which says it all, really. Why did I stop playing Warzone? Other games came along, I suppose. Maybe I'd become a bit burned out, which would only be natural considering the amount of hours I spent ducking and trucking. But I think the way it's changed has played a big part in my departure. More specifically, there's been too much change. The game looks bonkers now. |

People can earn a Moogle shirt cosmetic in FFXI, thanks to a new Mandragora Mania Madness event. The new event is a part of Square Enix's 20th anniversary celebrations for the MMO. The shirt can be earned for free. Meanwhile, playing the new minigame will offer new rewards. Square Enix started by showing off the new Moogle shirt FFXI players can equip. It is orange with black accents. A Moogle head silhouette appears in the upper left on the front. On the back, there is a design covering the rear showing a full Moogle. To get it, people need to go to Bastok Markets (F-8), Southern San d'Oria (I-8), or Windurst Waters (F-9). All you need to do is talk to the moogle standing there. No other requirements need to be fulfilled to get the shirt. As for the minigame, Chacharoon is running the other part of Mandragora Mania Madness in FFXI. The Qiqirn will be at Bastok Markets (F-8), Southern San d'Oria (J-9), and Windurst Waters (F-9). If you go there, you can earn Mandy and trade them for stuff. A new Hololive Vtuber concert is on the way, and this time it will be a Calliope Mori show. She'll be performing a solo concert on July 21, 2022. While New Underworld Order will take place at Toyosu Pit in Tokyo, Japan, it will also be streamed online. People can also order merchandise inspired by the event, which is expected to ship between June and July 2022. The announcement didn't include a length for the concert. However, it did offer a way to purchase tickets and view it online. SPWN is selling them for ¥5,000 (~$39). If someone buys a ticket, they can watch the show between when it happens on July 21, 2022 and August 21, 2022. The official website for the event also showed her Shinigami Note EP and a video for her song "Red." As for Calliope merchandise, Hololive is selling an acrylic light, t-shirt, and towel. Each one features the New Underworld Order logo on it. In the case of the shirt and towel, Calliope herself appears. The acrylic light is ¥3,000 (~$23) and glows pink when in use. The Japanese May 2022 Indie World Showcase featured different titles than the domestic one. For example, Gang Beasts and Don't Starve Together showed up. It also features a release date for the Switch version of Omori. It will appear in that region on June 17, 2022. As a reminder, Omori is a retro-style RPG. After being announced in 2015 for the 3DS and PC, it finally showed up on PCs in 2020. While the 3DS version was canceled, it was replaced with Switch and PS4 ports. The game didn't appear at all during the North American May 2022 Indie World Showcase. This is in spite of the Japanese PC localization appearing almost a year after the game's debut. However, its worldwide debut could happen relatively soon. Physical copy pre-orders opened back in March 2022. The December 2021 Indie Showcase said it would show up in Spring 2022. (Which is the current release window.) Fangamer's product listing said physical copies of the game will ship on June 17, 2022. That matches the Japanese release date for Omori, suggesting it is a worldwide one. The Omori Nintendo Switch version has a June 17, 2022 release date in Japan. Back when the last Genshin Impact event schedule showed up, it offered general information about Spices from the West. Now, there are more details about how it will work and some of the benefits people will get. This is a cooking event involving spices. It will also involve interacting with Genshin Impact characters in the Serenitea Pot and earning Companionship EXP with them. Things kick off on May 14, 2022. As a reminder, Genshin Impact Spices from the West will be a Serenitea Pot cooking event. After completing Tubby's "Idle Teapot Talk" and "Realm Dispatch," you'll be make seasonings and food for Nazafarin. Between May 14-21, 2022, people will seven Fragrant Seasonings recipes. These turn Delicious cooked dishes into Fragrant ones. By cooking them, you'll get free Hero's Wits, Mora, Primogems, and weapon ascension materials. You'll also be able to earn a limited amount of Companionship EXP for Genshin Impact characters. There are two sorts of limits on Companionship EXP for this Genshin Impact event. Due to extended Serenitea Pot maintenance, people can't place or remove characters and items at the moment. If it ends during the event, people can place them there and feed them. However, based on the wording, it sounds like only people who are already present in your realm will be able to sample and react to food, then get Companionship EXP. As a reminder, Companionship increases characters' Friendship Levels. When the level goes up, it unlocks new photo mode expressions, stories, and voice lines in their profiles. If you max it out, you earn a Namecard. In addition to placing someone in the Serenitea Pot, the level can be increased by adventuring with characters in your party. Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices. A Nintendo Switch version is in development. One of the most engaging activities for longtime players of Final Fantasy XIV is fashion. Players will spent lots of time and even real money crafting the perfect "glamour" for any occasion. And it looks like Square Enix is adding more for fans of contemporary streetwear clothing, judging by the addition of the Hip Street Costume in the FFXIV Online Store in Korea [Thanks Umadori!] The FFXIV Hip Street Costume set contains streetwear gear to go in the head, hands, torso, pants, and shoes slots of a player's equipment. The head slot is a reversed baseball cap with a ring cut into the brim, worn over a do-rag. There seem to be variations available on both the torso items and the pants. The first torso variation is a vest worn over a sleeveless t-shirt with chains and necklaces. The second option is a short denim jacket worn over a white crop top. The top also has brand-like writing in Eorzean script. The pants options include cargo jeans and laced track pants. The hand item is a single fingerless glove on the right and rings and bracelets on the left. The shoes are large two-tone high-top sneaker-like boots with straps. All the items appear to be unisex, with sample pictures showing male and female characters wearing both options.
So far, the FFXIV Hip Street Costume is only available for pre-order on the Korean store. It costs 25,300 Crystal there, though actual prices can vary between regional editions of the game. It isn't unusual for certain items to be country-exclusive, though many regional costumes and mounts eventually made their way out of their original stores. People will find out when the Honkai Impact 3rd 5.7 update will appear and what to expect from it this week. It will be held on May 14, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. ET/9:30 p.m. CET. As is common, the presentation will involve 120 Crystals being given away. It will also show off the new Honkai Impact 3rd Aponia Disciplinary Perdition battlesuit and events. Ahead of the presentation, HoYoVerse offered a new video and details about some upcoming Honkai Impact 3rd events. The first is a new sample video. It focused on Aponia, the Honkai Impact 3rd Thirteen Flame-Chasers member. She's going from an Elysian Realm boss to a playable character after the patch.
The special love stream should also look at the Honkai Impact 3rd 5.7 Elysium Everlasting Elysian Realm space and Shattered Dimensions event. The former will be an open-world area with Story and Exploration modes, as the latter will include puzzles and side-stories. People will be able to get new rewards like Crystals and Bringer of Light Stigma Option and collect Weapon Cards. As for Shattered Dimensions, it will task people with defeating Latent Hunters, finding Sealed Item treasures, getting tokens for the Gale Hunter Bright Knight: Excelsis outfit, and avoiding traps in two worlds. Type-Moon Times will return after a hiatus of over half a year, and it will focus on Witch on the Holy Night. Aniplex and Type-Moon will air a new episode of the program on the Type-Moon Games channel on YouTube on May 27, 2022, at 22:00 JST (9 AM ET). The voice actors Yusuke Kobayashi and Chika Anzai will appear at the presentation. They respectively provide Japanese voiceovers for Sojuro Shizuki and Kojika Kumari in Witch on the Holy Night. Type-Moon Times is a net-based video program containing information about new games related to Type-Moon franchises. The company previously used this program to publish new details about Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- and Melty Blood Type Lumina. The latest edition prior to this announcement was Vol.6, which aired on September 29, 2022. It revealed Saber from the Fate series as a guest character in the latest Melty Blood title. After releasing the fighting game, the company used other methods to reveal its post-release content. During the Chaldea Live Stream on May 11, 2022, Lasengle announced when we can expect to see FGO (Fate/Grand Order) Lostbelt 6.5. It will launch in early June 2022, with Constantine appearing as the banner Servant. The Japanese title for Lostbelt 6.5 can be translated as "A Certain Illusion's Life and Death: Traum." In history, Constantine XI was the last emperor of the Byzantine Empire. In addition to Constantine, Lasengle released a picture that shows silhouettes of Servants who will appear in Lostbelt 6.5. It seems that six new characters will also show up in the story, though it is unclear just how many will be playable when the new story chapter launches. In addition to the new Servants, players will be able to obtain a free SR of their choice. You will need to exchange a ticket for the Servant, and you will not be able to choose limited ones. Due to the fact that Tunguska Sanctuary covered events after Lostbelt 6, some people refer to it as Lostbelt 6.5. While the event, which ran for a limited time in December 2021, did act as a continuation of the main story, Traum will be the true continuation of Lostbelt 6. Guilty Gear Strive will have its first anniversary on June 11, 2022. Arc System Works will hold a live stream ahead of the anniversary on May 25, 2022. Key members of the development team will appear at the stream and talk about the game's past and future. The latter will include talks about the upcoming second season of new content additions. Arc System Works also opened a new poll that runs in Japanese on May 11-22, 2022. The poll primarily asks players to choose up to three of their favorite characters and songs that appear in Guilty Gear Strive. The character list includes all playable characters up to Testament, as well as key NPCs who appear in the story mode such as Gabriel and April. It also asks when players bought their copy of the game and whether they still play any of the available modes. Arc System Works will announce the poll results during the anniversary stream. Capcom has released a Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak wallpaper featuring the Seregios, which is set to reappear in the expansion. The wallpaper is immediately available to download through the Japanese SNS service LINE. The image of the Seregios in the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak wallpaper is an official render of the monster. However, in order to receive the wallpaper, consumers will need to be friends with the official Monster Hunter account on LINE. They will then need to send the account a specific message through the app. Thankfully, Capcom has made it relatively easy. Users from any country can add the account as their friend. After that, they will need to send the message "モンハンライズ：サンブレイク壁紙6" to the account through the SNS service's chat function. Upon doing so, the wallpaper will be delivered to their device to download. Elden Ring sales have exceeded 13.4 million units worldwide, according to a financial report from Bandai Namco. The report reveals the continued success of the title, and that Elden Ring has managed to sell roughly 1.4 million units after the initial announcement of the title hitting over 12 million in sales in March 2022. Alongside that announcement, Bandai Namco expressed interest in expanding Elden Ring as a brand. However, that endeavor has yet to be elaborated on. That said, other successful Bandai Namco properties have received extended media, specifically Dark Souls. Bandai Namco previously released an official comic series due to the financial success of the IP. Other pieces of extended media have included the release of a board game. This game has players traverse sets of rooms, encountering enemies and bosses they need to defeat in order to progress. However, while Bandai Namco has yet to reveal any information about official Elden Ring content, a fan-made mod will allow players to traverse the Lands Between in VR. The mod will change the perspective from which players will view the world, effectively placing them in the first-person perspective. It also revealed that Capcom's endeavors in merchandise, extended media, and eSports helped the company see profits within the fiscal year. However, regarding the digital sales of games, Capcom specifically mentions Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. The report states that annual sales volume reached 32.6 million units, which is an increase from the previous year's 30.1 million units. It also acknowledges that digital versions of its gaming catalog have effectively bolstered sales overall. The financial report shares that Resident Evil Village has sold 6.1 million units worldwide, with Monster Hunter Stories 2 reaching 1.5 million units sold worldwide. Additionally, Capcom notes within the financial report that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Resident Evil 7 have contributed to overall profits. Both titles have continued to perform due to their general popularity. In October 2021, Capcom revealed that sales for Resident Evil 7 had officially surpassed 10 million units worldwide. Capcom announced that sales for Resident Evil Village have reached 6.1 million units worldwide. This information was disclosed through a financial report. The report revealed further growth from the title, as it had shared in October 2021 that sales for Resident Evil Village had surpassed 5 million units worldwide. This includes both digital and physical sales. Capcom revealed that sales for the title have remained consistent thanks to purchases of the digital version of the game. Additionally, Resident Evil Village broke into Capcom's Platinum Titles list in December 2021. The Pokemon Center in Japan will begin selling wedding-themed Pikachu plushies and other merchandise later this month. The "Pokemon Garden Wedding" series of merchandise will be available online starting May 12, 2022, at 10 AM JST/3 AM CEST. It will appear in physical Pokemon Center stores in Japan starting May 14, 2022. Prices for plushies will start at ¥3,300 (about $25). [Thanks, Game Watch!] The Pikachu plushies will come in two varieties, both dressed in traditional wedding attire. The western-style wedding attire will feature Pikachu in a white bride's dress and groom's suit. The groom will wear a corsage, and the bride will hold a bouquet of white flowers. On the other hand, the Japanese-style wedding attire will feature the bride in a traditional shiromuku, while the groom will wear a montsuki haori hakama.
