Each week you've got a chance at a different weapon for completing Nightfall Strikes, and ever since Season of the Lost, fan-favourite legacy weapons from the original Destiny have been added to the rotation. New seasons often introduce new weapons into the rotation, so it's more important than ever to know in advance the Nightfall weapon schedule. In case you don't know what the Destiny 2 Nightfall weapon means, Nightfall: The Ordeal is a playlist available in the Vanguard menu, alongside the basic Strike playlist. Each week, a different Strike is chosen as the Nightfall, and offered in five escalating difficulties, with harder enemies, challenging modifiers, and enemy power levels cranking up. The coveted Nightfall weapons have a chance to drop from any Nightfall Strike difficulty, but it's far more likely at higher levels. Your best bet for farming each week's Nightfall weapon is to set the Strike to Master difficulty, according to YouTuber Aztecross. You should also note that there's no automatic matchmaking above Hero difficulty, however, so you'll need to get a squad together. Instead, it targets professionals with mixed reality support, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg believes it could replace your work PC or laptop. It's not all work and no play, as it still packs great horsepower for VR games and introduces support for the Xcloud portion of Xbox Game Pass, but that's no where its value for money lies. If you use your VR headset for gaming first and foremost, you might be better off waiting for the Oculus Quest 3 instead. Unlike other vehicles in the battle royale game, this supercar has jet propulsion engines that, when activated, allow you to go at breakneck speeds across any road-like terrain. Of course, other vehicles are available too, but this one is the fastest. The only downsides about the Fortnite Whiplash are that it guzzles gas as if it's downing a pint of beer, and, on its own, it's not very good to drive on any surface except for asphalt. The handling is all over the place, and its maximum speed drops below that of a regular car. However, if you put on some off-road tyres, which you can find in any gas station on the Fortnite map, not even a dirt track can stop you zipping across the map at a steady pace, even if it does reduce your maximum speed on roads. Fuel consumption is still a problem though, especially if you wish to use the boost, so we recommend carrying a fuel canister so you don't get stranded. So relevant, in fact, that I'm starting to wonder if this wasn't an attempt at psychological sabotage disguised as a friendly gesture. (You wouldn't do that to me, would you, Alice?) Romancelvania is exactly what it sounds like: dating sim meets Castlevania. No idea how I missed it during my own perusal of the demo list, because unsurprisingly it's immediately become my favourite thing I've ever played at a Steam Next Fest. I was so drawn in, in fact, that I've been having a tough time putting it down, even when I really need to — hence my suspicion that this was some sort of test on Alice's part. No idea if I've succeeded or failed. The demo starts on a promising note, awakening you in the persona of a comically brooding and exaggeratedly shirtless hunky Dracula. (The final game will include the option to play as a Lady Drac, if you prefer, who will not be shirtless, but not by a large margin.) |

The titular island, and your overgrown plot of farmland on it, has almost the same layout as Stardew Valley, and the tasks you do - growing stuff, keeping animals, making friends with locals, exploring a mine five levels at a time, and appeasing local spirits by giving them bundles of different crops - will also be very familiar to any DewHeads (that's what we call ourselves). That's not to say Coral Island isn't good. It's all in very beautiful bouncy 3D, for one thing, and I found the island setting (which impacts the flora, fauna, and architecture in general) made everything feel less like work. Combined with a thread of environmentalism weaving through the game, and the fact that Coral Island is slightly easier than Stardew Valley, and you feel like you're doing more progress in less time. If you loved the vibe of ConcernedApe's smash hit, but found the need to hand-write your own almanac a bit intimidating, this is the game for you. |

Medabots S will have more crossover content from Mega Man Battle Network. Imagineer revealed the second collaboration event with Capcom's franchise that will go live in the mobile game on October 13, 2022. It will add four new Medabots designed after NetNavis from the MMBN series. ProtoMan.EXE, who is alternatively known in Japan as Blues.EXE, will have a Medabots counterpart named SwordBlues. Likewise, the Battle Network 5 debutant Colonel.EXE will become LeaderColonel. GutsMan.EXE will also appear as GutsForce. The extended roster will wrap up with Uranade, a Medabots version of Serenade.EXE, the boss of Battle Network 3's Secret Area.
The first MMBN crossover content for Medabots S appeared in August 2021. The event added Medabots version of MegaMan.EXE, Roll.EXE, and Bass.EXE, which Imagineer named as RockTrans, HeartRoll, and Fortate, respectively. Players who missed the three units previously will have another chance to obtain them in this time-limited event. Medabots S is available on iOS and Android devices in Japan. The second wave of Mega Man Battle Network crossover content will appear in the mobile game on October 13, 2022. Sonic Frontiers will have a free DLC set inspired by Capcom's Monster Hunter series. The announcement appeared first on Sonic the Hedgehog's official English Twitter account. Sega later published a Japanese press release that provided more in-game details of the crossover. [Thanks, 4Gamer!] The free DLC for Frontiers will let Sonic don the Rathalos Armor from the Monster Hunter series. The armor will be available in two versions: The fully clad regular version and the lighter Felyne version that Palicoes wear in the original games. Clearing this mini-game will make Sonic even stronger than usual. In late 2018, Sega and Capcom held a two-way crossover between Phantasy Star Online 2 and Monster Hunter Frontier Z. The then-Japanese exclusive Phantasy Star Online 2 also added Monster Hunter-inspired avatar parts and emote gestures, but it brought more content by adding Frontier Z's original monster Elzerion as an enemy boss. Square Enix warned Final Fantasy XIV players about attempts to breach the game's security and advised vigilance on the part of its player base. According to an update on the Lodestone community site, unspecified third parties are behind a spate of FFXIV account hacking attempts. According to the news post, the FFXIV account hacking attempts are targeted at the overall Square Enix Account Management System. The hackers are using email addresses and passwords "obtained from other online services of other companies". Essentially, the hackers are trying out passwords obtained from data breaches of other companies to see if anyone has reused their password for their Square Enix or FFXIV account. Hacking a reused password requires very little technical skill or resources, and can be an efficient way of gaining account access by exploiting a user's carelessness. As a precaution, Square Enix advised players to reset their Square Enix passwords. It will restrict accounts it suspects have been compromised and notify their owners via email. Users who notice their accounts have been restricted can learn more at this link. Square Enix warned that if the cases of Square Enix and FFXIV account hacking continue to rise, it may consider initiating a password reset for all accounts as a precaution. Additionally, Square Enix advised using its One-Time Password system. The Square Enix One-Time Password system is a multi-factor authentication system used for Square Enix accounts, including Final Fantasy XIV. It uses a smartphone app to generate security codes that must be entered at the point of login. Multi-factor authentication makes it more difficult for unauthorized users to gain access to your account because they'll need to compromise more than a single point in order to take control. Final Fantasy XIV is available on PC, PS4, and PS5. Multi-factor authentication and password management systems are available from many companies, including Google, Microsoft, and Apple. Mark your calendars, because the Hunter x Hunter manga will resume serialization on October 24, 2022. The first chapter of its return will be in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 47 2022. Perhaps coincidentally, that is around when the Togashi Yoshihiro - puzzle - exhibition will take place at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo. The exhibition will be available from October 28, 2022, to January 9, 2023. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!] Hunter x Hunter ended on Chapter 390, which appeared in November 2018. Aside from the return of the manga, tankobon collectors will also be able to get their hands on Volume 37. Volume 37 of Hunter x Hunter will appear in Japanese bookstores on November 4, 2022. Before Togashi's manga went on hiatus, the story was in the middle of the Succession Contest Arc. Unlike the more action-focused Greed Island and Chimera Ant arcs before this one, the Succession Contest Arc is a story that centers more around political intrigue and conspiracies. The Togashi Yoshihiro - puzzle - exhibition will feature over 350 pieces of character settings and roughs of Togashi's signature works. You will be able to see art of Level E, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Hunter x Hunter. The exhibition is called "puzzle" because a creative work is a puzzle made up of "characters," "settings," and "the ability to portray something." The artworks that will be at the exhibition are all pieces of Togashi's puzzles. The Hunter x Hunter manga will restart serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on October 24, 2022. I participated in the closed beta test for Street Fighter 6 over the weekend, and I might well be one of the least-qualified people to write about the game at this point in time. After all, I haven't played a fighting game with any degree of seriousness since 2002's Guilty Gear XX (if that). And yet, after a few dozen matches of getting absolutely demolished by all comers, I'm more excited than ever to maybe, just maybe, give the genre another chance. The first thing that stands out about Street Fighter 6 is how welcoming it seems. Joining the closed beta for the first time puts you in the Battle Hub, a virtual lobby where you can get into pickup games with other players using one of the eight characters available in the beta roster (the full roster was confirmed during TGS 2022). The other two modes, Fighting Grounds and World Tour, an RPG-style progression mode, were locked during my time with the test. Only the Battle Hub was available for the test, but that was already plenty, all things considered.
Joining the Battle Hub at first kicks off an intro video of sorts featuring Eternity, a new host character. Though Eternity manages a pitch-perfect homage to Ruby Rhod from The Fifth Element, the schtick feels important for giving players the impression that absolutely anyone's welcome to mix it up in the Battle Hub, and by extension, Street Fighter 6 proper. It's so friendly, in fact, that in any other context - like, say, a corporate training video instead of a video game - that welcoming vibe would come across as corny. But I believe it, because everything about Street Fighter 6 exudes that friendly vibe. Of course, "friendly" is not synonymous with "easy". Even playing on the game's "Modern" control scheme, which simplifies the number of inputs to a method that's somewhat similar to that used by the Smash Bros. series, I was readily trounced 90% of the time. In fact, over at least fifty matches, I maybe won two rounds. Not matches. Rounds.
And it felt great! I learned a little more every time someone planted my butt in the ground, and while those learnings didn't translate to victories right away, my understanding grew with each exchange. I also learned about the different tools Street Fighter 6 had ready to help a scrub like me on their journey toward getting good. One of these tools is the Drive system, SF6's new signature mechanic. Keeping in mind that I'm a complete scrub, my understanding of the Drive System is that it's a one-button system that gives players a tool to get out of many jams with the right timing. Managed by the Drive meter, which refills at a steady rate, players can throw out a Drive Impact, a powerful attack that stuns an opponent and knocks them away. Importantly, the Drive Impact is "armored", absorbing a couple of hits without being interrupted. This can prevent you from being trapped in the corner or give you some much-needed space. There's also the Drive Parry, which blocks almost anything bar a throw, and the Drive Rush, a quick way to close a gap. However, using Drive moves too often puts you in "burnout", which leaves you a sitting duck, so there's a price to pay for leaning on it like a crutch. All the same, it was nice to have something to be able to whip out when I could see that someone was just using me to "lab" their infinites.
Beyond being steamrolled by everyone in my region, there was a lot to do in the Battle Hub itself. I could spectate matches by walking up to an occupied arcade cabinet, take a break by watching fights on the big screen, spend some of the "Drive Ticket" currency I earned on cosmetics for my avatar, or just emote the pain away in the social space. There was even a "classic arcade" in the back area, where players could play archived versions of old games like Final Fight and Super Street Fighter II Turbo. There's also a lot of personality to be found in the matches themselves. During the matchup screens, you can change your character's facial expression to get your "game face" on (or just do some gurning). Many of the avatar emotes correspond to in-game moves like the Shoryuken and spinning bird kick. The character creator also feels completely off-the-wall, with some truly inhuman avatars visible in any given Battle Hub instance (the Monster Factory folks will be delighted, I think).
The Street Fighter 6 closed beta might be one of the most polished tests I've yet seen for a major release, but it still was a test. Never once did the game tell me I have a stable connection to any server, for one. The fights seemed playable enough, though, and no one thought to take advantage of the new feature that allows players to agree to declare a "no contest" draw if the connection is bad. I also encountered a few crashes and drops in connection, as well as a lockup that forced me to hard-reboot my PS5. There's still some work to be done, and the final game's most content-rich and potentially bug-prone mode, World Tour, wasn't on offer yet. Still, though, playing this taster for Street Fighter 6 left me more excited to play a fighting game than I've been in years, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out on full release. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will further expand its Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero contingent with its next DLC pack. In addition to the previously confirmed Gamma 2, Bandai Namco announced that the "Hero of Justice Pack 1" DLC will include Gohan (as he appears in the movie), and Gamma 2's sibling, Gamma 1. Alongside Gamma 2, Gamma 1 was created by Dr. Hedo for the Red Ribbon Army. The pair of androids menaces Piccolo and Gohan in the Dragon Ball Super film. Gamma 1 is voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya, who also played Levi in Attack on Titan, and Koyomi in the Monogatari series. He's a bit more strait-laced, and gets down to business where Gamma 2 prefers to play around. Both use their blasters and physical attacks in combat, though Gamma 1's accessories and effects are tinged in red rather than blue. After Gamma 1 gives Piccolo a thrashing, Gohan intercepts to make the android interlopers pay. This particular incarnation of Gohan is labeled simply "Gohan (DBS Super Hero)". Xenoverse 2 already boasts several other playable versions of Gohan, including his kid, teen, adult, Great Saiyaman, and Future forms. All three new fighters: Gamma 1, Gamma 2, and Gohan (DBS Super Hero) will land in Fall 2022. They're all part of the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Hero of Justice Pack 1 DLC. A second pack is planned with three more characters, but its release window has not yet been announced. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
