PCGamesN Tuesday, October 25, 2022 5:21 PM It doesn't feel as though it was that long ago that the Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Early Access phase began, taking many of us who'd been waiting for years for the medieval sandbox game by complete surprise. PCGamesN Tuesday, October 25, 2022 8:59 PM Want to know what this week's Destiny 2 Nightfall weapon is? Each week you've got a chance at a different weapon for completing Nightfall Strikes, and ever since Season of the Lost, fan-favourite legacy weapons from the original Destiny have been added to the rotation. New seasons often introduce new weapons into the rotation, so it's more important than ever to know in advance the Nightfall weapon schedule. In case you don't know what the Destiny 2 Nightfall weapon means, Nightfall: The Ordeal is a playlist available in the Vanguard menu, alongside the basic Strike playlist. Each week, a different Strike is chosen as the Nightfall, and offered in five escalating difficulties, with harder enemies, challenging modifiers, and enemy power levels cranking up. The coveted Nightfall weapons have a chance to drop from any Nightfall Strike difficulty, but it's far more likely at higher levels. Your best bet for farming each week's Nightfall weapon is to set the Strike to Master difficulty, according to YouTuber Aztecross. You should also note that there's no automatic matchmaking above Hero difficulty, however, so you'll need to get a squad together. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Tuesday, October 25, 2022 4:22 PM AMD's Ryzen 7000 processors are brilliant, often beating Intel 12th-gen offerings and drawing close with 13th-gen, while offering support for PCIe 5.0 SSDs, DDR5 RAM and a brand new AM5 socket. For content creation, they're by far the best CPUs AMD has ever produced - but for gaming, there is another option: the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. This CPU remains stunningly fast in some games that can take advantage of its uniquely huge L3 cache, and best of all works with a wide range of inexpensive AM4 motherboards with cheap DDR4 RAM. Pound for pound, it's by far the best AMD CPU for gaming on the market - and now it's been reduced to just $329 at Antonline via Ebay. That's a healthy $120 reduction from its US MSRP of $449, and a great price overall given the level of gaming performance it provides. |

Siliconera Tuesday, October 25, 2022 4:30 PM Udon Entertainment will publish a new graphic novel in the Street Fighter Origins series, this time focusing on the God of Muay Thai, Sagat. Street Fighter Origins: Sagat will hit shelves in April 2023 and explore the origin story of longtime series alum. Before he became a boss character in Street Fighter and a member of Shadaloo's Four Heavenly Kings in Street Fighter II, he was an ordinary person living in Thailand. There he struggled to find his place. The comic will tell that tale. The graphic novel will have the same creative team as Udon Entertainment's Street Fighter Origins: Akuma. Chris Sarracini will write the story, with art by Joe Ng, and colors by Esped Grundetjern. Udon also uploaded a four-page preview of the story, as well as preview images of the cover and a Limited-Edition Gold Foil Variant Hardcover version. Check them out in the gallery. [gallery ids="937910,937911,937912,937913,937914,937915" link="file"] Sagat's portrayal in various media, including Udon-published comic series, has varied. He appeared as the main antagonist in a comic miniseries focused on Chun-Li. In one story, he trains with Yoga master Dhalsim to become stronger, following his defeat by Ryu. In the mid-1990s animated series, Sagat was M. Bison's second-in-command, and received his iconic chest scar from Ryu's Shoryuken, and switches sides to aid the heroes in the final episode. Street Fighter Origins: Sagat goes on sale in April 2023. Pre-orders for the limited edition are open via Udon's online store. Siliconera Tuesday, October 25, 2022 4:00 PM Boutique media publisher Discotek Media held its "Spooktacular" Discotek Day stream on October 25, 2022 and announced a raftload of new releases targeted for 2023. Among them is the legendary tokusatsu series Kamen Rider Black, the original Japanese Sonic X anime series, and classic super robot series GaoGaiGar. These series are among the many getting a physical blu-ray release in North America. Discotek led its announcements with Kamen Rider Black. It originally aired in 1987 and is considered a classic. It inspired a reboot in the form of Kamen Rider Black Sun in 2022. The release will cover all 51 episodes across 5 discs in HD, with Japanese voices and English subtitles. Extras will include a roundtable panel with the cast and crew and an essay by tokusatsu influencer Mach Dent. https://twitter.com/discotekmedia/status/1584712333275721729 Another major announcement besides Kamen Rider Black was the original Japanese version of Sonic X, an anime series based on Sonic the Hedgehog. It was originally produced by TMS Entertainment and aired in 2003. In North America it was licensed by 4kids Entertainment, which heavily edited the show to comply with content rules put in place by Fox at the time. The Discotek release of Sonic X will contain all 78 episodes, revised English subtitles, restored video, 5.1 audio on certain episodes that were released on Japan's "Hi-Spec" DVD format, and extras like creditless opening and ending sequences. It'll arrive on Blu-ray in Winter 2023. https://twitter.com/discotekmedia/status/1584740159236415488 Discotek closed out its presentation by announcing The King of Braves: GaoGaiGar. This release will remaster the complete 49-episode series in 1080p HD, with Japanese voice and subtitles and the original English dub. (The dub was never completed and only covers the first 25 episodes.) Interviews and extras will be included for the Blu-ray release, which arrives in Winter 2023. Discotek also confirmed it will release GaoGaiGar Final, an 8-episode OVA sequel to the series. In Twitter comments, Discotek confirmed that due to the nature of editing on certain shows like Kamen Rider Black and GaoGaiGar, there's a chance that the shows may trigger photosensitive epilepsy in some viewers. As such, a warning will be included on the final releases. https://twitter.com/discotekmedia/status/1584742180911869954 Here's the full list of new licensing and release announcements from Discotek Media, organized by type. Live-Action
Sonic X and GaoGaiGar will release in Winter 2023, while Kamen Rider Black will come out within 2023. Specific release dates weren't given, but pre-orders will open on retailers like RightStuf and Amazon at a later date. PC Invasion - FeedDDD Tuesday, October 25, 2022 8:00 PM The free-to-play nature of Overwatch 2 always brought a dark cloud with it for the community. Much of the community's fear awful monetization practices seems to be realized with the new Overwatch 2 Halloween event. Players are unhappy about the Halloween event not featuring many free rewards, especially considering how you could earn free skins in past Overwatch holiday events. But the cherry on top is the new Kiriko Witch skin, one of the only new skins in this event, getting sold in a bundle at a mighty price tag of $26 USD. Kiriko's new Witch skin costs 2600 Overwatch Credits, which translates to around $26 USD. Never mind how you can't earn the skin for free, but you can't even purchase the skin in one fell $20 USD swoop. The community on Reddit is up in arms over the price, with fans showing displeasure over the cost of these new skins. Some are even criticizing Blizzard for marking the prices of these new skins as "on sale," such as the ... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Tuesday, October 25, 2022 7:45 PM When news broke of Overwatch 2, I was remiss in my interest in the new sequel. Overwatch was touted as a full-package game from the beginning, a live-service adventure that was meant to be updated until the end of time or until it fizzled out of existence (whichever came first). So news of Overwatch 2 came as a surprise, but it was also met with a disgruntled sigh. Around this time, a content drought had already shadowed the original Overwatch, with new heroes and content a general rarity. To hear that Blizzard was dedicating its efforts to a new game altogether was upsetting for someone who took the first game seriously. Weeks turned to months, and months turned to years. And it almost seemed like Overwatch 2 would never come. The indifference at this point was real. But, all of a sudden, the developer announced a PvP beta test, and sure enough, I could not hide from my morbid curiosity. What has the Overwatch team been up to for several years? How dramatically different is the PvP to... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Tuesday, October 25, 2022 4:30 PM If you ever find yourself bored and wanting to pass the time without committing to anything, you may want to try out Slow Roads. Made by creative developer anslo, Slow Road functions as a simple browser game in which you drive endlessly across scenic, procedurally-generated roads. Now, you may want to know how much it costs, but fortunately, there is no cost. You can boot the game up whenever you want and drive to your heart's content without worrying about any larger goals, time-consuming downloads or pesky monetization. You don't even need a particularly good PC to run it. According to anslo, Slow Roads mainly serves as an experiment for procedurally-generated scenery as well as for "testing the boundaries of 3D application development within JavaScript." But in terms of the game itself, anslo created it to pay tribute to the Peak District area in the United Kingdom, in addition to the arcade rally games they would frequently play as a kid. Will the... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Tuesday, October 25, 2022 4:00 PM After some brief server woes, the 2022 Halloween Sale went live on the Steam Store earlier today. Now dubbed the Steam Scream Fest, the spookiest sale of the year brings discounts on hundreds of games that range from downright terrifying to not as scary, but all are full of horror elements. I mean, the dating sim Monster Roadtrip is probably not all too terrifying — unless you fear commitment. Anyway, there are tons of discounts on new and old games during the Steam Scream Fest. The recently released Thymesia, for example, is a Souls-like game at a bargain-friendly 20% off, going for $19.99 USD. Ghostwire Tokyo, which released earlier in the year, is now half off at $29.99 USD. It's also worth checking in on Resident Evil Village, which has an expansion coming soon. If you're planning on getting the Winters' Expansion on October 28 and haven't picked up Village yet, you can grab the latter for 25% off at $29.99 USD during the sale. The more recent R... |
