PCGamesN Monday, February 6, 2023 11:57 AM You won't be able to unlock Hogwarts Legacy locked doors and chests for quite some time, as it isn't until you come across the main story quest called 'The Caretaker's Lunar Lament'. Here, you'll properly meet Hogwarts' caretaker, Gladwin Moon. He's usually a bit of a tough geezer, but he recently has become paranoid that someone's out to torment him. Recently he came face-to-face with a Boggart, which apparated into his greatest fear: a Demiguise. Now all of a sudden, there are statues everywhere, and he wants to reveal the identity of his assailant. During this quest, Gladwin teaches you Alohomora, one of the Hogwarts Legacy spells that unlocks locks on doors and chests, which in this open-world game can contain valuable gear and collectables. To get this precious spell, you first need to progress through the Hogwarts Legacy story for a fair number of hours until you get this main story quest in your log. Gladwin will teach the first level to you as part of the quest, but returning Hogwarts Legacy Demiguise Statues to him will eventually increase the spell's level to a maximum of three. PCGamesN Monday, February 6, 2023 11:19 AM With the Hogwarts Legacy transmog system, you can always turn up to class looking like the best-dressed person at school. Fortunately, that awful-looking beret you found in the Forbidden Forest with incredible stats doesn't have to go to waste. The RPG game features a range of clothing to make your avatar stand out from the rest of the Hogwarts Legacy characters. Any piece of clothing you find in Hogwarts Legacy will appear as a transmog option. This means you don't need to hold onto your favourite clothes just because they look good. PCGamesN Monday, February 6, 2023 11:17 AM Want to know how to complete the Hogwarts Legacy Cache in the Castle side quest? Just outside of Professor Fig's classroom in the Astronomy Tower, you will find Arthur Plummly, a Hufflepuff student seeking treasure hidden within the castle walls. This side quest may not be much on the surface, but it teaches you a valuable lesson when exploring the school halls: nothing is as it seems. To complete the Hogwarts Legacy Cache in the Castle side quest and find the hidden treasure, you will need access to one of the most basic Hogwarts Legacy spells, Accio. Luckily, by the time this side quest appears in the open-world game, you should already have learned this spell by attending your first Charms class. This task will take you far away from the quest-giver, so keep your Hogwarts Legacy map handy and take advantage of Floo Flames for fast travel if you lose your bearings. PCGamesN Monday, February 6, 2023 10:55 AM Hogwarts Legacy Revelio pages are one of many collectables in the Harry Potter RPG, and they can be quite confusing. You'll probably find a few as soon as you're let loose around Hogwarts after the intro, and as expected, you need to use Revelio to find them, but how exactly do they work? Revelio pages in Hogwarts Legacy are in the same category as field guide pages and flying pages, but they're also slightly different. You may notice that Revelio pages specifically are tracked in-game, as each one provides a tiny bit of lore about the subject in question, whether it's something like the Great Hall which every Potter fan knows and recognises in the open-world game, or a collection of beehives in a hamlet miles away from the castle. Here's what you need to know about the Hogwarts Legacy Revelio pages. PCGamesN Monday, February 6, 2023 10:50 AM Knowing whether to steal the Hogwarts Legacy Fwooper feather for Garreth in Potions class is a tricky one because, on one hand, you want to give a good first impression to Professor Sharp as the new fifth-year student. On the other hand, Garreth's "spectacular" potion is sure to be excellent, and you want to make friends and allies during your time at Hogwarts. This isn't the only decision you'll need to make in Hogwarts Legacy, but it is one of the earliest, and Garreth does make a good case for himself in the RPG game. It's fairly simple to steal the feather - all you need to do is pick it up when you enter Sharp's office, alongside the ingredients you're actually in there for - but will you get in trouble? Here are the two outcomes of the Potions class decision on whether to steal the Fwooper feather in Hogwarts Legacy or not. PCGamesN Monday, February 6, 2023 9:32 AM Want to know how to get the Hogwarts Legacy flying pages? You may have seen them slowly flapping their papery wings across the many rooms of Hogwarts. These are field guide pages, though not ones to be confused with those hidden next to landmarks, which are classed as Revelio pages. Getting the Hogwarts Legacy flying pages gives you little experience but nothing else to contribute to completing the Hogwarts Legacy challenges. That said, these Hogwarts Legacy field guide pages are worth picking up when you see them just to get that little extra boost, as level-ups give you additional health. So therein lies the big question: how? Chances are you've seen them early in the open-world game and attempted to use the basic projectile spell to knock them down. All this does is knock them around, but they remain airborne. You need to learn one of the Hogwarts Legacy spells from your teachers before you can pluck them from the sky. PCGamesN Monday, February 6, 2023 9:32 AM Want to know where all the Hogwarts Legacy Daedalaian keys are? Fairly early on in the game, you'll find some side quests that teach you a little more about each of the collectibles in the game. One of these quests is 'The Daedalian Keys' who you can get from Gryffindor student Nellie Oggspire standing in the Transfiguration Courtyard. She asks you to investigate the flying keys scattered around Hogwarts. These are the Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian keys, and to solve the puzzle, you need to get close to them to gain their trust. Once you do, follow them to a nearby lockbox to claim the house token inside. As it turns out, there are more of them hidden, but with so many collectibles in the open-world game, you'll be pleased to hear that you don't need to set foot outside of the school for this one. That said, you do eventually need to learn a couple of Hogwarts Legacy spells to access hard-to-reach areas. After completing her quest, you're free to find more Hogwarts Legacy empty paintings and their corresponding Lumos Moths across the Hogwarts campus and some of the other locations in this massive open-world game. Each one you locate gives you more experience and progress towards the Hogwarts Legacy challenges. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, February 6, 2023 9:42 AM Wishfully's upcoming cinematic platformer Planet Of Lana turned eyes and heads when it was first announced at E3 2021, and the comparison we instantly settled upon was "like Ori meets Inside". At a recent ID@Xbox showcase we attended last week, creative director and Wishfully co-founder Adam Stjarnljus acknowledged that Playdead connection, saying that both Limbo and Inside "had a huge impact on me", but he also said Studio Ghibli's animated film Spirited Away was another key influence, which, yep, that definitely tracks. "I was very inspired by Studio Ghibli films, and especially the film Spirited Away," Stjarnljus told us. "That's been kind of like a guiding star from the beginning in terms of tonality with this serious, emotional story, but [also] still, like, a fun quirkiness to it, and really this sense of exploring another world, which we really want." |

Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, February 6, 2023 5:30 AM I hesitate to call Potion Tales a shop sim or retail management game, because the economics of running a figuratively and literally underground magic potion shop seems a secondary concern next to making the potions and deciding whether you want to screw people over or not. If the answer to that last part is yes, you need to move on to the question of how. In practice, Potion Tales is a 3D puzzle game. People come to you - I use the term people broadly because the tutorial level involves helping a fire spirit and soon after you're approached by what appears to be an aggressive daisy who is the local gravekeeper - and present you with a problem. They ask for a potion to solve the problem. That's all the steer you get. It takes some getting used to, but the Steam demo shows an impressively flexible game with a good sense of humour. |

Chapter 1: Village of Calamity and Chapter 2: Two Chivalrous Heroes will appear this time around. People can go through these alone or with others online. You can also save as you play. Doing so and carrying that file over to the full game will give people a Crouching Dragon Helmet for their character to use. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam on March 3, 2023. The Wo Long final demo will be available for consoles and the PC between February 24, 2023 and March 26, 2023. Siliconera Monday, February 6, 2023 10:30 AM The Couple Pokemon will take part in a special event over Valentine's Day 2023. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the next "major" Tera Raid was revealed, and it will involve Tandemaus. Between February 13-14, 2023, people will get more opportunities to catch the character introduced in this latest installment. The in-game Pokemon Scarlet and Violet notice available via the Poke Portal offered additional details about the Tandemaus Tera Raid. First, it will be available at multiple difficulties. People could encounter a one to five-star Tera Raid with the character. There will also be sandwich ingredients among the rewards. These will include sweet dessert items, with strawberries and whipped cream among the two options mentioned. The raids themselves will run from 00:00 UTC on February 13, 2023 until 23:59 UTC on February 14, 2023. As a reminder, Tandemaus' evolution to Maushold can be a bit weird. It needs to be involved in a battle at or after level 25 in order to evolve. However, it might also evolve if it leveled up as part of one, but you might not see a video showing it. Once it does evolve, it can become a Family of Three or Family of Four form version of the character. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is available for the Nintendo Switch, and the Tandemaus Tera Raid event will run February 13-14, 2023. Siliconera Monday, February 6, 2023 10:00 AM As part of the February 4, 2023 Pedro Pascal SNL episode, one trailer skit envisioned what a gritty, HBO show based on Mario Kart looked like. Pascal, who plays Joel in The Last of Us HBO adaptation, again played the lead role tasked with protecting a young woman in a post apocalyptic environment. Except for this "show," he was Mario and needed to drive Peach to Rainbow Road. Here's the full SNL skit for the "HBO Mario Kart trailer. Pascal introduces himself with an "It'sa me, Mario." Princess Peach ended up removed from her role when Bowser took over. "Mario" ends up taking her in a kart through the wasteland. Along the way, he stops at Luigi's "haunted" mansion, they avoid a Goomba, and also work with Yoshi and Toad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiIRlg4Xr5w&ab_channel=SaturdayNightLive This is the second week in a row SNL aired a video game skit. During the Michael B. Jordan episode on January 28, 2023, there was a Street Fighter 6 one. That involved him and cast member Bowen Yang recording lines for Ryu and Ken. The most recent mainline Mario Kart game is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch. The Last of Us season one is now airing on HBO. Siliconera Monday, February 6, 2023 9:30 AM As part of the announcements at Tekken World Tour 2022, Arika's involvement in both development of Tekken 7 and Tekken 8 came out. Bandai Namco Producer Michael Murray thanked Arika's Akira Nishitani on stage at the keynote, citing Arika is working on both games. Arika then shared exact details about how it is assisting with development on its official site on February 5, 2023. [Thanks, Resetera!] With Tekken 7, Arika is helping Bandai Namco with an update. Bandai Namco's part will involve balancing issues. Arika will be tasked with squashing bugs and improvements to the game and its online multiplayer. With Tekken 8, it seems like Arika will work on online multiplayer elements and "the user experience." Here is the exact statement going over what Arika will do on each game.
This isn't the only Tekken 8 update for February 2023 coming out of Tekken World Tour 2022. Quite a bit of news arrived regarding the eighth installment. We know Nina Williams will return as a playable character. A new trailer also looked at the Heat and Rage Systems. Tekken 7 is available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Tekken 8 is in development for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam. The post Arika Working with Bandai Namco on Tekken 7 and Tekken 8 appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Monday, February 6, 2023 9:00 AM The Game Boy Advance was an incredible platform. It is filled with these extraordinary titles. Especially if you enjoy RPGs or strategy games. It was a fantastic time. What's also great about it as that some of these GBA games are still the best! They hold up, even decades after the handheld's 2001 release. Which is why we decided to cite some of the especially worthwhile games you still may want to play. Now, it is important to keep in mind that since Siliconera is a site focused on Japanese games, those are the GBA titles we'll be looking at the most and recommending! We're also only focusing on ones that appeared exclusively on the handheld. There are tons of amazing options out there! So think of this more as a start to your GBA journey, rather than some definitive, ranked list of games. 10. Slime Morimori Dragon QuestThis game… well, you're going to need an English patch to play it! It's a Japan-exclusive, The Legend of Zelda-style adventure that predated the extraordinary Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime. While you couldn't use a stylus to send your slime careening around the screen, it's still a lovely, wonderful, and personable adventure. 9. WarioWare, Inc.You know that great WarioWare series? It started here! With this! It's a great collection of microgames and is still so much fun to play. Especially since you're also limited by how many buttons you have on a GBA. It is definitely worthwhile. 8. Mario & Luigi: Superstar SagaThere are a handful of Super Mario RPG spin-offs, and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga kicked off a great line of games. (Well, I mean, technically Alphadream's Tomato Adventure kicked off this sort of RPG. But still!) It's a fun RPG with Mario and Luigi as the focus, it uses established characters and lore well, and it still looks amazing. 7. Rhythm TengokuWhile Rhythm Heaven exposed people worldwide to Nintendo's amazing and unique rhythm game, it was Rhythm Tengoku on the GBA that started it all. It offered those same sorts of brief musical experiences on the handheld. Again, the limited buttons meant it still worked amazingly well. Perhaps the only thing that held it back was the speaker quality? Anyways, it is very import-friendly and one of the best GBA games out there, so it is worth your time. 6. Advance WarsSince the wait for Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp is apparently forever, the original Advance Wars is a game someone can't miss. It's a fantastic Intelligent Systems strategy game. It perfectly brought the Famicom Wars series forward to a new generation. Plus it has so much personality and color to it. It's lovely. 5. Golden SunWhile Nintendo did us dirty by never giving us a sequel to Golden Sun: Dark Dawn and its cliffhanger, at least we have the original Golden Sun games! This entry and The Lost Age come together to tell a great story with magic, a world in need of saving, and djinn. It still looks good, offers fun environmental puzzles, and is a lot of fun to play with its djinn and "class" system. 4. Metroid FusionMetroid Fusion is probably one of the more perfect entries in the series. At least, when talking about Metroidvania-style ones. It's fluid. It is challenging. The map begs for further exploration as you delve into it. All of which means it holds up extremely well. 3. Final Fantasy Tactics AdvanceHere's a little secret: I like Final Fantasy Tactics Advance more than the original FFT. There's something about the accessibility afforded. It has 34 fun jobs to use, as well as all the Ivalice races. It was fun to see more happen with the Ivalice Alliance, to be frank! Also, the Laws system meant that you needed to get creative with your actions, as sometimes a certain action or kind of equipment would be against the law and could get you killed! It was great. 2. Fire Emblem: The Sacred StonesLet's be clear. Every Fire Emblem game on the GBA is fantastic. They are all winners. I really liked and recommend Sacred Stones because we get the two routes, a great array of classes and characters, and the Creature Campaign post-game. It's one of the most solid installments and still among the best GBA games out there. 1. The Legend of Zelda: The Minish CapThis was a close one, because the GBA is also home to A Link to the Past and Four Swords, but I have to say The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap is too lovely and holds up too well. It is so perfect on the handheld. Plus the spritework is exceptional, with these great transitions between the larger world and smaller one. It's stunning. I don't even think it would have worked as well on a console or other platform. Maybe the DS? Anyways, it holds up well, remains a classic, and deserves attention. Siliconera Monday, February 6, 2023 8:30 AM A global release of Hideaki Anno's Shin Kamen Rider film isn't confirmed yet, but its tie-in game adaptation is ready to cross the seas. SD Shin Kamen Rider Rumble will launch in Asia on April 27, 2023. The game will appear on PC and Nintendo Switch, and will be fully localized into English and published by Bandai Namco. Check out the release date trailer for SD Shin Kamen Rider Rumble. The game was first announced for Japan in January. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VJ5PYbXv8c The SD Shin Kamen Rider Rumble trailer replicates the opening sequence of Shin Kamen Rider, which was heavily inspired by the original 1971 Kamen Rider intro. The trailer shows off gameplay footage, featuring Kamen Rider, Takeshi Hongo, beating through waves of goons from SHOCKER. SHOCKER is the secret organization that kidnapped Takeshi and turned him into the cyborg super soldier Kamen Rider. The Shin Kamen Rider incarnation will fight both with and without his helmet, and spends a fair amount of time wearing a black overcoat over his cybernetic armor. The game itself is a side-scrolling brawler-style title, though it appears to incorporate systems to gradually improve Kamen Rider's abilities. Kamen Rider also goes into battle against Kumo Augment, a SHOCKER-created monster from the film and its version of the classic monster Man Spider. Kamen Rider also deploys his famous Rider Kick super move to annihilate his foes. SD Shin Kamen Rider Rumble will be available in Asia on the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on April 27, 2023. The Heaven Burns Red x Angel Beats! crossover begins on Friday, February 10, 2023 in Japan [Thanks, Ryokutya2089!] The official account for Heaven Burns Red also posted promotional art to accompany the announcement. The art shows Heaven Burns Red protagonist Ruka Kayamori standing alongside three Angel Beats! characters: Yuri "Yurippe" Nakamura, Kanade "Angel" Tachibana, and Miyuki Irie. The event is titled "The Place Where The Cosmos Continue to Bloom" in Japanese. https://twitter.com/heavenburnsred/status/1622206196978700290 According to the announcement, the Heaven Burns Red x Angel Beats! crossover event will be written by Jun Maeda, who created Angel Beats!, as well as serving as creative lead for Heaven Burns Red. Released in February 2022, Heaven Burns Red was developed as a collaborative project between Wright Flyer Studios and Key for Key's 21st anniversary. It stars young women who can wield weapons called "Seraphs" against an alien enemy called "Cancer", and blends visual novel storytelling elements with 3D battles. Angel Beats! was first released in 2010, as an anime series produced by ASCII Media Works. It featured writing from Jun Maeda, and involvement from members of Key in prominent positions such as character design and music composition. It's set in the afterlife, which takes the form of a Japanese high school. Yuzuru Otonashi, an amnesiac boy, wakes up in this afterlife, only to be recruited by Yuri Nakamura into the "SSS" (the "Shinda Sekai Sensen", or "Afterlife Battlefront"), a guerilla organization dedicated to rebelling against the unseen "God" that runs the afterlife. Representing God is the "Angel", another student who has supernatural powers, and who the SSS members attack regularly with hand-crafted weapons. The anime was adapted into a manga, and received its own visual novel version developed by Key in 2015. Heaven Burns Red is available on iOS and Android devices in Japan. Siliconera Monday, February 6, 2023 7:00 AM In Final Fantasy VII, Rude isn't the leader of Shinra Company Special Investigative Unit The Turks, but he's the toughest and most powerful of them. A new post from the official account of the FFVII Remake dropped some concept art of the character, alongside some trivia about his encounter with Cloud Strife and Aerith Gainsborough in the game. Rude is voiced in English by William C. Stephens, who also voices Maine in Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Jax in Mortal Kombat 11, and Shiva in Shin Megami Tensei V. He's voiced in Japanese by Taiten Kusunoki, who voices Kamunabi in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Rock Bison in Tiger & Bunny, and Yodaka in Relayer. https://twitter.com/FFVIIR_CLOUD/status/1622158094657798145 Check out the full-resolution pieces in the gallery. [gallery columns="2" size="medium" ids="949759,949760" link="file"] In the post, Rude is introduced "Turk No.1 in Toughness and Power". The post also elaborates on a mini-boss encounter that takes place in FFVII Remake, pitting Rude against Cloud and Aerith. According to the post, during his fight with Cloud and Aerith, Rude "recognizes" Cloud as "dangerous," since Cloud managed to defeat his partner Reno in combat earlier. However, Rude's orders did not include actually defeating Cloud, and as such the Turk was "only fighting at about 70 or 80 percent." In FFVII Remake, Rude is seen in the Sector 5 Slums at the head of a Shinra search team pursuing Aerith. Cloud, who is acting as Aerith's bodyguard, is escorting her home after escaping the Sector 5 church, where Cloud fell after Avalanche's attempt to bomb Mako Reactor No.5. Cloud and Aerith encounter Rude blocking their way home, and Rude challenges the pair to a match. During the fight, the pair manage to break Rude's shades, after which he puts on a spare pair. Rude is then called away on urgent duty by Reno, and abandons the fight. FFVII Remake is available on the PS4, PS5, and PC. Siliconera Monday, February 6, 2023 6:00 AM NieR series creator Yoko Taro and Sega are working on a new game, and will announce it formally on Friday. The company uploaded a teaser trailer for the title to its YouTube channel, but an accidental upload of an incorrect version of the video revealed some details that were supposed to be revealed during the event on February 10, 2023. The details include Yoko Taro's involvement. Those who spotted the erroneous upload before it was taken down reported that the game is likely called 404 Game RE:SET (pronounced "Error Game Reset"). [Thanks Gematsu!] Here's the corrected version of the teaser, which hides the game's title. The formal reveal will be accessible at this link on February 10, 2023 at 8:00 PM Japan Time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXZR3CZC6HA The teaser trailer for the new Sega and Yoko Taro title shows a smartphone falling from the sky towards the pavement. As it falls, the phone's entire home screen is taken over by Sega logos. Just before the phone hits the ground the screen flashes two messages in Japanese: "Create a bright future," followed by "---- Sega," where the hyphens are a pixelated kanji character that resolves into "Kill Sega." The phone hits the ground and sets off a digitizing wave that consumes the cities of Tokyo, New York, Taipei, and Paris, covering them in Sega logos and signage. Screaming crowds demand Sega, and before long, the entire world is converted to Sega's signature blue hue. The final shot of the trailer returns to the fallen phone, which flashes the schedule of the reveal, promising that "[We] have something to announce to the people on February 10, 2023 at 8:00 PM Japan time." The last sentence asserts that "The World Will Change" on February 10th. The details about the game were to be kept secret if not for the leak of the wrong version of the trailer, which reveals the new Sega x Yoko Taro production to be 404 Game RE:SET. It's set for release on iOS and Android devices, and a pre-registration campaign will launch alongside the reveal. The campaign promises to deliver "10 gems" to all players upon the game's eventual launch. The post Yoko Taro, Sega to Announce Game on February 10, 2023 appeared first on Siliconera. |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Monday, February 6, 2023 10:20 AM In Fire Emblem Engage, you can buy or find a limited range of weapons split across numerous disciplines. They determine how hard your units can strike their adversaries. But most of them start out relatively weak. You can improve their performance a great deal with the right upgrades, however. Here's our guide on how to upgrade weapons and equipment in Fire Emblem Engage. How to upgrade weapons and equipment in Fire Emblem Engage Fire Emblem Engage isn't like a lot of RPGs, where one hero equips an accessory, armor, a helmet, greaves, and boots. They also can bring Staves, which are multi-use items that double as weapons for those proficient in their use. PC Invasion - FeedDDD Monday, February 6, 2023 10:16 AM After two whole years of Early Access, Everspace 2 finally has a release date for its 1.0 launch. The game originally debuted on Steam in January of 2021 and I played it on day one. Despite how rough Early Access games can be, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and was surprised by the level of quality on display. If you've been holding off on the game until its full release, you'll no doubt be pleased to know that there are only two short months to go before the game can be played from start to finish, bringing its development to a close. Everspace 2 is set to fully launch on April 6, which is well within the window Rockfish Games promised when the game debuted. An early 2023 window was planned. But even though it won't quite be out in the first quarter, it's coming pretty close. In the meantime, players seem to be pretty fond of the game, as it has over 5,000 Steam reviews totaling an 87% positive score. There will be an awful lot added to the game at release, i... |
