Save over $140 on a top-range Intel gaming CPU, if you act fast

If you're after a great gaming CPU deal, look no further. Amazon has a ton of Intel processors on limited-time discounts right now, including $148.48 off the Intel Core i9 13900KF, bringing it down to $450.52.

While the Intel Core i9 13900KF may not occupy a spot on our best gaming CPU guide, this is largely because it was succeeded by the 14th gen i9 14900K. Intel's KF chips strip away the integrated graphics, meaning a discrete graphics card is required, but they come at a slightly lower MSRP to make up for the absence.

Super realistic Escape from Tarkov rival launches new Steam playtest

Between Escape From Tarkov, Gray Zone Warfare, and Arena Breakout: Infinite, the tactical, military simulation style of FPS is having a renaissance right now. But while realism and punishing, strategy-driven shootouts can be a thrill, sometimes you want something a little more balanced - the tension of tactics, but with higher playability and less frustration factor. Weaving between Tarkov and Counter-Strike 2, a new squad-based FPS promises precisely that, and a new playtest is just about to launch on Steam.

Monster Hunter Wilds release date estimate, trailers, and latest news

When is the Monster Hunter Wilds release date? With the recent resurgence of Monster Hunter World and Rise in late 2023, there's naturally a bit of a buzz regarding the first sixth-generation Monster Hunter. The first trailer had a hunter riding his bird friend as they desperately tried to escape a horde of armored beasts like Simba weaving between the stampeding wildebeest in The Lion King.

However, we recently got to see a significant amount of Monster Hunter Wilds gameplay, as well as some brand-new monsters and all the characters you meet on the expedition. We had already seen some big changes to the RPG game series, not least of which is the sheer level of mobility the mount offers, but some newly revealed mechanics excite us greatly. With the power offered by new-generation consoles, perhaps this will be the first in the series to embrace a fully open-world game concept. We can all but estimate here, but here is everything we currently know about the Monster Hunter Wilds release date and all the game features shown off so far.

After three years of hype, amazing new FPS game finally lands on Steam

Okay, so here's a confession: I'm a little bored with the whole '90s boomer shooter revival now. I love Doom. I love Half-Life. I love Quake, Blood, and Duke Nukem, but there have been so many spiritual revivals and variations on the formula over the past six years, and the material is starting to wear a little thin. Old-school-style FPS games don't automatically charm me like they once did.      Best wireless gaming mouse in 2024

The best wireless gaming mouse can give you fantastic levels of speed and precision without cables getting in the way. While trying and testing the top options, we've considered shape, style, and button selection, as well as battery life and connection types. You can use Bluetooth for longer between charges and it'll connect to more devices, but this sacrifices the low latency that comes from the included USB dongle. Fortunately, we have recommendations to cover all bases.

Razer, Corsair, and Logitech respect your USB slots more than ever, as their receivers now let you connect more than one wireless peripheral to a single dongle on some models. It only works if the other devices are from the same brand, but unlike the best gaming mouse, this makes room for everything else you want to plug into your PC.

Oh, Command and Conquer, please come back. When is the Skate 4 release date? While we've seen plenty of early footage of Skate 4 already, EA's upcoming Skate revival is a rare case of a triple-A studio showing off very early in-development footage of a game. Though we've seen plenty of Skate 4, we can also clearly see it's not ready yet. It's already been over a decade since the last Skate game, so we can hold on a little longer.

The first Skate was among the most innovative skateboard games around, from its analog control scheme and semi open-world game structure to its more realistic, less edgy representation of the skating scene. The development team behind Skate 3 was disbanded after its release in 2010, and the series' community has been consistently bombarding EA message boards with questions about the series and its potential return ever since. The glock-toting wreckage 'em up first hit our radar when it was announced as a modern combination of F.E.A.R. and Doom, promising both the fiendish AI enemies of the former and the satisfying blasting of the latter. In Mike Judge's 1999 cult comedy Office Space, there's a scene where Ron Livingston's Peter - a programmer working a tedious corporate job - visits a hypnotist. "Is there any way that you could, sorta, just zonk me out so I don't know that I'm at work, in here," Peter asks of the hypnotist, pointing to his head. "Could I come home and think that I've been fishing all day, or something?". That's basically the high-level concept for brilliant sci-fi comedy show Severance, right there. Not wanting to spoil any more than I absolutely have to, I'll present you with two facts up top. 1. It features a touching queer relationship between John Turturro and Christopher Walken and 2. It's some of the best television I've seen in the last few years. Throw in some Stanley Parable, Control, Gilliam's Brazil, and some more meta undertones of general musing on gamified reward loops, and you've got Severance.

How unlike the innards of Centum, a point-and-click horror game (Steam page here) that begins with a dreary retro desktop interface on which there are curious text files, curioser decryption tools and most curious of all, an .exe of some kind that drops you into a simulation consisting of a stone prison chamber. Hang on, I'm changing trains...

My PC has a big white case, and sometimes, I sit and think: "big white box good!" But other times, I glance over to my PS5 and think: "other big white box also good!" Then I start getting fanciful and imagine a lovely future where they can both combine into one. Keeping track of two big white boxes is hard! Luckily, I only have to write about one of those big white boxes for RPS the vast majority of the time. Today is one of the rare occasions I do have to cover both, so here's everything announced at yesterday's Playstation State Of Play that you, the discerning big white box owner, might find relevant:

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Manga Volume 1 Arrives in 2025

Viz Media announced the release window for volume 1 of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga volume on social media. It will appear in English in Spring 2025.

Here's the official announcement for this new entry. It also shows how the cover for volume 1 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will look. It is pulling from the same cover design and art as the first chapter of this part of the series' storyline.

https://twitter.com/VIZMedia/status/1796576127307133050

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex first started running worldwide back in August 2023. Both Viz Media and MangaPlus offer the first three chapters and three most recent ones in English for us to read. As the first volume already launched in Japan in February 2024, we know it consists of chapters 1-4 of this second part of the story.

For those unfamiliar with the story, Two Blue Vortex involves a time-skip in the Boruto series, just like Shippuden did with Naruto. This latest part involves Boruto no longer being part of the Leaf Village, and attempts on all sides to deal with the Otsutsuki threat.

Volume 1 of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga will appear in English in Spring 2025. Past Boruto and Naruto volumes are available via Viz Media. The anime is streaming on Crunchyroll.

nijisanji knives out

NetEase announced that Knives Out will feature another Nijisanji collaboration that will start on May 31, 2024, then end on June 13, 2024. You'll be able to get collaboration items based on Kuzuha, Sasaki Saku, and Tsukino Mito.

This is the third collaboration between Knives Out and Nijisanji. During this event, the gacha for the first two collaborations will re-run. Aside from collaboration items, you'll be able to get different skins, weapons, parachutes, objects, and cars based on the three VTubers. The designs for the cars take motifs and aesthetics from the different livers. Kuzuha's is red and black to reflect his vampiric heritage, while Sasaki's is pink and cute with lots of pandas. Mito's is bright and flamboyant.

During the collaboration event, you can join the fan club of your favorite VTuber from the three. By completing certain missions, you can win limited items for your fan club. Depending on your rank in the fan club, you can also receive prizes like collaboration items and in-game currency.

All three of the VTubers in this collaboration are quite well-known and popular. Kuzuha is the second most subscribed male VTuber in the world with over 1.70 million subscribers on YouTube. Tsukino Mito is part of the first generation of Nijisanji and one of the VTubers who propelled Anycolor into the juggernaut it is today. She currently has 1.21 million subscribers on YouTube. Finally, Sasaki Saku debuted as part of Nijisanji Gamers before retiring. Then, she returned two months later in 2019 and has remained at Anycolor ever since. She has over 854k subscribers on YouTube.

Knives Out is readily available on the Windows PC and mobile devices.

Dynasty Warriors Origins heads to PS5 Xbox Series X and PC with Tomohiko Sho as producer

Shortly after revealing Dynasty Warriors: Origins at the May 2024 State of Play, Koei Tecmo confirmed that the game will also be available on the Xbox Series X and PC via Steam in addition to the PlayStation 5. However, it turns out that the series' longtime producer Akihiro Suzuki is not leading the game's development. The company revealed that Tomohiko Sho, who is also the current head of the Omega Force brand studio, is the producer of Dynasty Warriors: Origins.

Tomohiko Sho had been involved in the Dynasty Warriors franchise since the original fighting game came out on PlayStation in 1997. He was also involved in Dynasty Warriors 2 through 5, mostly as a planner.

The highest position Sho managed to achieve in the series before Origins was as the director in Dynasty Warriors 6 and the PS Vita entry NEXT. In more recent years, he worked as the producer for Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate in 2019, Touken Ranbu Warriors in 2022, and Fate/Samurai Remnant in 2023.

The new producer appointment, along with a new logo change for Omega-Force, show a drastic change in the brand studio's organizational structure in the development of Dynasty Warriors: Origins. Akihiro Suzuki has been regularly assuming the producer spot for the mainline numbered entries, including Dynasty Warriors 9 and its Empires spin-off. However, in recent months, the producer has been shifting his focus towards the mobile game that has been running in Japan since 2021.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2025.

pokemon naranja academy lego

The Tokyo University Lego club has shared its recreation of Naranja Academy from Pokemon Scarlet. The Pokemon Company commissioned the students to create it.

According to the Tweet, it took the students three months to design everything and then seven days to set it up. They wanted to recreate both the size of the school, as well as all of the little details in it. Aside from the school and all the trees, you can see the Poke Ball at the top of the main building. The spheres in the design show the students' skill when it comes to building Lego structures.

Some people in the QRTs have shared some different angles of the structure. In these pictures, we can see that the cobblestone has different colored bricks, much like in the game. There are also a lot of students and Pokemon walking around the Lego version of Naranja Academy, giving it a sense of life.

You can also see in the pictures how the students recreated Paldean Pokemon with Lego pieces. Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly are standing in front of the school. These three are the starter Pokemon trainers can pick at the beginning of their journey. There is also someone standing with a Koraidon. Koraidon is the mascot of Scarlet, as well as the Pokemon players can ride on when they traverse through Paldea.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are readily available on the Nintendo Switch.

HoYoVerse shared the release date for the Honkai Impact 3rd 7.5 update. It will arrive on June 6, 2024, bringing with it a new chapter for the story, new events, and the Lantern Lone Destruction: Shadowchase Battlesuit

As one might expect due to recent events and Battlesuits, the 7.5 Honkai Impact 3rd story and events all have to do with the Seven Shus and Lantern.  The new story questline is called "A Crime Foretold" and deals with the seven individuals awakening again to deal with Langqiu and Oxia's troubles. Here is the full launch trailer for the Honkai Impact 3rd 7.5 patch's additions. It started with the look at Lantern and the new story chapter. After that, it offered some overviews of upcoming events. It shows how there will be a Lantern Against Shadows event, which includes a Magic Academy Uniform for the Sirin Miracle Magical Girl Battlesuit. After that, the Theresa Apocalypse Lunar Vow: Crimson Love Till Death Do Us Part Battlesuit outfit appeared. A login event with Fprged Light Stigma and 12 Equipment Supply Cards will run too. Code Geass Lelouch Zero and Kallen character avatars in Phantasy Star Online 2 PSO2 New Genesis

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will offer new crossover avatar parts based on characters from Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. Players can now check out how the characters will look like after Sega revealed the upcoming in-game content at the May 2024 NGS Headline program. Existing players of PSO2: New Genesis will be able to get the parts from the Code Geass Style scratch ticket that launches on June 19, 2024.

As announced previously in late April 2024, the crossover scratch ticket will primarily feature avatar parts based on Lelouch, C.C., Kallen, and Suzaku. Other than outfits and facial parts, the lineup will include voice sets for each character, with their original Japanese voice actors returning to provide the lines. Players who pull an adequate amount of tries in this scratch can also get the Code Geass track "Previous Notice" as an in-game music disc.

Sega stops short of producing the Knightmare Frames as CAST parts for mechanical avatars, but it will still release some parts based on the units. The list will include weapons like Super VARIS, movement motions inspired by Suzaku's Lancelot, and miniaturized Mag Forms based on Shinkiro, Guren SEITEN, and Lancelot Albion.

In addition to the above, Sega will also give away acrylic stands of Lelouch, C.C., Kallen, and Suzaku to all players who log into the game regularly daily during the collaboration period.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is available worldwide on PC and PlayStation 4. The online game also appears on Nintendo Switch in Japan and Xbox One elsewhere globally. The Code Geass Style scratch ticket will be available for a limited time starting from June 19, 2024.

princess maker 2 regeneration delay

Bliss Brain has released some new pictures of Princess Maker 2 Regeneration, including comparing old screenshots to new ones. However, there will also be a few changes to the contents of the game (to match with modern sensibilities), as well as a delay for the PS4 and PS5 versions. [Thanks, PR Times!]

Here are some of the screenshots, along with their comparisons to the previous games. Some of the screenshots don't have a comparison. This is due to "certain reasons," which likely have to do with suggestive content.

Takami Akai, who drew for the original Princess Maker 2 Refine, also redrew these pictures to make them closer to the original PC-98 version's style. They're also much more HD to reflect the current gaming devices people use. Aside from improving the overall quality (as in resolution and whatnot), some of the expressions are different. This can impart a different atmosphere or mood.

Finally, the PS4 and PS5 version will remove items or endings, which is why they will come out later than the PC and Switch versions. You will no longer be able to buy items to make your daughter's breasts bigger. The marriage endings where the daughter marries the father or the butler are also gone. These changes are due to ethical reasons. As a reminder, the items and endings are still present in the PC and Switch releases.

Princess Maker 2 Regeneration will come out on the Nintendo Switch and Windows PC on July 11, 2024. The PS4 and PS5 versions will come out on August 8, 2024.

FFXIV Dawntrail Benchmark Tool Update Slightly Delayed

Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida offered an updated release date for the FFXIV Dawntrail Benchmark Tool update following a slight delay. Instead of appearing in May 2024, it will now launch on June 3, 2024.

Yoshida noted the last minute delay is due to Square Enix needing to squash a bug. During the final testing, they found and fixed a problem. Before releasing it, the team is doing another final review. Following that and building inspections ending on June 2, 2024, the FFXIV Dawntrail Benchmark Tool update will launch.

While part of the update went over the brief delay, the rest of it went over fixes and additions people will notice when they use the tool after the update. There will be a background option with no blue lightning, there will be blue and plain lightning effects, and the lighting and time of day can be set. The vignette effect is gone, so it doesn't influence the character design. Also, characters' pupils, lips and lip gloss, facial textures, hair textures, shadows, and lighting were adjusted. The announcement also reminded people that Phials of Fantasia will be available via a quest and will have a grace period of 60 in-game minutes for editing after use.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Dawntrail expansion debuts on July 2, 2024. The FFXIV Dawntrail Benchmark Tool update arrives on June 3, 2024.

Magia Record Japanese version shutting down in July 2024

Aniplex has announced that it will gradually close the Japanese releases of Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story in July 2024. The PC version that has been available on DMM Games will cease first on July 1, 2024. The iOS and Android mobile releases will follow suit at the end of the month on July 31, 2024. [Thanks, Gamer.]

The company added that it will temporarily publish an offline archive version until October 14, 2024. Players who have accessed the Japanese version of Magia Record will be able to review the content they have obtained during the game's lifespan.

The Japanese mobile release of Magia Record appeared first in August 2017. The PC version followed later on in April 2019. While Aniplex also released international versions of the game, none of them lasted as long as the Japanese release. The English version notably only lasted barely past a year from June 2019 until October 2020.

In its announcement, Aniplex also revealed that the upcoming entry Magia Exedra will replace Magia Record. Even though the company has yet to specify the new game's release date beyond the 2024 window, it teased that existing Magia Record players will be able to carry over some of their play data to the new game. The offline archive version of Magia Record will contain a unique serial code for each player, and they will be able to input it in Magia Exedra.

Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story is available in Japan until July 1, 2024, for the PC version, and July 31, 2024, for the iOS and Android releases.

Interview: Hololive's Fuwawa and Mococo Talk Streaming, Moving to Japan

Leading up to the first anniversary of the Hololive Advent, Siliconera got a chance to talk to each of the members of the generation, and that includes Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard. Like Shiori Novella, Koseki Bijou, and Nerissa Ravencroft, the twins talked about their experiences with Hololive. They also discussed what it is like to stream as a duo and their recent move to Japan.

Jenni Lada: Congratulations on your move to Japan! How difficult was it to make such a big move while also handling streaming responsibilities?

Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard:It was really tricky! We definitely can't say we recommend it, ahaha! We did our best to deal with the sudden limitations of the cardboard box we were staying in temporarily while we looked for our doghouse, but for us, the most difficult and frustrating part was not being able to spend more time together with our Ruffians while streaming. Of course we made sure to still stay close through Twitter and other means, but it just wasn't the same as being live... After spending time together with the Ruffians almost everyday for well over half a year, it was a bit of a shock to our systems! We still had lots of Ruffians sending us support and headpats to us online daily, which helped push us through our mountain of quests, especially when they were really ruff on us. We're really happy to be in our doghouse now! We feel so fortunate to have the Ruffians here supporting us always! They protect our smiles just as much as we do theirs.

What are you most looking forward to doing now that you two are living in Japan?

Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard: We want to be able to grow ourselves lots and lots! Of course we want to get to know our senpai more and to improve our Japanese, but we also hope to be able to take vocal and dance lessons! We want to be able to make use of everything available to us! That's why we decided to move, so that we could grow ourselves even more and hopefully be able to protect our Ruffian's smiles even better! Living in Japan has actually been a dream of ours since we were little puppies, but somewhere along the way we had given up on it... It's been ruff, especially in recent years when we were locked up in The Cell and everything... But thanks to all our Ruffians, we were able to make that dream come true! We still haven't been able to take advantage of things quite yet since we're still just getting moved in and aren't quite comfy yet, but we're really looking forward to learning lots and lots and all the exciting things still to come!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=creLh1oxGQM&ab_channel=FUWAMOCOCh.hololive-EN

A number of your goals at debut involved getting to take part in things like the Odaiba Tokyo Idol Festival or be in a manga. How do you feel your relocation will help with some of these?

Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard: To be honest, we don't know if it's going to help us get closer to our dreams at all! All we can do is our best and make the most of every moment we have! We've felt a bit frustrated at times that we can't do more, but we really want to show the world that we're the right dogs for the job when we get thrown a new bone! We're really excited when we get new opportunities, big or small, and we're always up to a new experience or challenge! We'll continue to work like dogs and believe that those big dreams will come true with some hard work!

How do you feel about the excitement your fans showed over Mister Donut during Hololive SUPER EXPO / 5th fes.?

Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard: We were really, really surprised! It's a wonderful feeling seeing Ruffians from all over the world interested in visiting a place very special to us, and for us to be able to share something that's brought us so much joy! It looked like the sights you'd see in Akihabara around 15 years ago when a new visual novel went on sale, and it made us feel really warm and nostalgic! We've heard that some Ruffians from overseas who can't speak Japanese have been able to communicate with other Ruffians at Mister Donut by BAU BAUing together, so it makes us happy to hear that "BAU BAU" can transcend languages and bring everyone together! We really want Ruffians to be good friends together and to protect each other's smiles when we're busy at times with vocal or dance lessons or whatnot! We worry sometimes because Ruffians can be, well you know, a little bit ruff, but we know that there is a lot of fluffy and fuzziness deep down too! So it makes us really happy to see everyone getting along, creating things together, and just being a very warm and loving family! We do feel a bit bad because the pon-de-rings are always sold out though... bau bau... If they don't have any in Akihabara, we recommend you check out their other locations, like in Asakusa or Ginza!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7e9XNZe9c0&ab_channel=FUWAMOCOCh.hololive-EN

One of your streaming fixtures is the FuwaMoco Morning Show. How did you two come up with the idea for it?

Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard: We've actually wanted to do FUWAMOCO MORNING since before we joined hololive! We really liked the idea of sharing mornings together with our Ruffians since sometimes mornings can be really ruff. We thought that if we had a morning show, we could all wake up early, have a paw-sitive start to the day, and share happy and healthy lives! That's also why we have some of the viewer-submitted corners as a part of our show, because we want our Ruffians to go out for regular walks and be able to enjoy the world they live in! We really enjoy a good walk ourselves and we want to see what your world is like too! We're so happy that many Ruffians decide to share their mornings with us and that we're able to start your day off on the right paw! We're almost at our 100th episode, but we hope we can continue to do so for many more episodes into the future.

What kinds of challenges do you feel come from there being two of you working together for your streams? Do you ever encounter any kinds of technical issues because of it?

Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard: Our technical setup is actually pretty complicated! We don't think there are any other members in Hololive who have a similar setup to us just because there are two of us! We've never said it before, but we almost weren't able to debut on time because of the issues we were having... Luckily we were able to solve things and everything went on without a hitch! Because there are two of us it makes for a lot of problems that you wouldn't think should be problems, and unfortunately we're the only ones who can solve them. We have to get creative sometimes! As for challenges because we're always working together, that's never a problem for us! There are times where we do bump heads, but it's usually just over something silly like we have the same idea or vision for a project and just aren't communicating it to each other very well. We're always each other's biggest support though! We're the fluff and the fuzz!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfC8CGhvfgQ&ab_channel=FUWAMOCOCh.hololive-EN

Likewise, are there any perks that come from having someone else always around to help with streams?

Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard: We're able to share the workload between each other on some things, which is really handy! Usually Mococo is more in charge of the technical aspect and game play and Fuwawa takes care of audio and reading comments more! Ruffians also get very curious about which one of us writes tweets and other messages, but it's almost always both of us! Maybe it's just Fuwawa's paws who typed it out, but Mococo approved it and decided to add this or that to it! But no matter how many times we explain it, they don't seem to get it... We think it's really silly! What's hard to understand about it, huh? (laughs) We also have lots of fun planning new ideas together that we think the Ruffians could get excited about... If we're not streaming or working on projects, we're almost always thinking up new ideas!

You two are at over 800,000 subscribers on YouTube at this point. Do you have any special plans for when you hit the 1 million mark?

Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard: We're hoping that we can do something really special, but more than anything, we just want to spend such a momentous occasion together with the Ruffians! Hitting 1 million subscribers on YouTube has always been a huge dreams of ours since we debuted, but we've always said that more than reaching that goal, it's the journey that's important to us, so we want to have a bunch of fun together with our Ruffians while on that journey and make that dream come true altogether, the FUWAMOCO way!

You can follow Fuwawa and Mococo on social media and catch their streams on their YouTube channel.
