Kotaku Monday, July 29, 2024 4:40 PM I'm convinced that this year's Olympics are for the gamers. Onkyo will start selling Japanese sake (Onikoroshi to be precise) featuring Kikuri Hiroi from Bocchi the Rock. The sake was matured while listening to SICK HACK's "Watashi Dake Yuurei," which was an insert song from the anime series.
You can get an Onikoro Cup Sake set for 2880 JPY ($18.90). This set will come with a 300 ml cup of sake that "listened" to "Watashi Dake Yuurei," a 180 ml carton of normal Onikoroshi, and a cloth bag featuring Kikuri. Onkyo included two different types of Onikoroshi sake so you can compare the tastes. Something you want to keep in mind is that sake from a carton and sake from a cup already taste different. So if you think that the Bocchi the Rock sake tastes better, you should also consider the different container you're drinking from.
According to Onkyo, a banana-like fragrance emerged from the sake during the fermentation process. This was quite interesting to them, as the yeast they used shouldn't produce that kind of flavor. The end product has a sharp bitter flavor, yet remains refreshing. It believes that this is all thanks to the vibration technology it used during the process.
Other items you can get are:
All of the items will appear on sale from August 2, 2024. While Onkyo does offer international shipping, you need to check to make sure if alcohol can even make it out of Japan and to your country.
Onkyo is a brand that specializes in lifestyle goods and alcohol. It's known for its gimmick of aging alcohol while letting it "listen" to music. In the past, for example, it sold wines that listened to the soundtrack of NieR Automata Ver1.1a. The idea is that the soundwaves traveling through the liquid will impart a different depth or flavor profile.
Bocchi the Rock is readily available to watch on Crunchyroll. The sake that "listened" to "Watashi Dake Yuurei" from Bocchi the Rock will be available for purchase from August 2, 2024.

Cygames announced an upcoming collaboration in Granblue Fantasy with Tensura, or That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. The event will start from November 15, 2024.
Information for this first came out during the Granblue Fantasy livestream on July 27, 2024. In the announcement Tweet, Cygames also showed off how Rimuru, the protagonist of Tensura, will look like in the Granblue Fantasy art style. It shows them in their human form, with Ranga behind them. Rimuru and one more character, as well as a summon, will be free.
Cygames has not revealed the other characters or the summon that you'll be able to get as part of this collaboration. As a note, two characters (with Rimuru as one of them) will be free, along with a summon. Two other ones will be gacha-exclusive rather than being attainable through clearing event missions. This is so that Cygames could include more collaboration characters in one event, which is something they couldn't do in the past. It notes that the author for Tensura agreed to Cygames doing things a bit differently for the Granblue Fantasy event, so Cygames may do this again in the future.
As a note, because Cygames plans to dedicate a gacha to the Tensura collaboration, there will be an adjusted gacha schedule for the normal banners.
Granblue Fantasy is readily available on Internet browsers and mobile devices. The Tensura collaboration event will start in Granblue Fantasy from November 15, 2024, with more details to come later.

As part of Wonder Festival 2024 Summer, Taito highlighted three My Hero Academia figures of Himiko Toga, Tsuyu "Froppy" Asui, and Rumi "Mirko" Usagiyama. They are all at various stages of development, with the Himiko statue being the furthest along.
The Himiko My Hero Academia figure appeared as a painted prototype for the first time at the event. This is a more casual take on the character. She's wearing her duffel coat and wielding a knife. However, the bag she's carrying on her left arm shows her equipment for when she's acting a villain in a more formal capacity. It's a 1/7 scale figure.
The V Jump social media account shared additional figures of it on display.
The Froppy My Hero Academia Spiritale figure is only at the unpainted phase of development. Like Himiko, it is a 1/7 scale figure. She's completely dressed in her hero attire, and the active design features her tongue out as she leaps from a piece of rubble.
Again, V-Jump shared additional photos of that figure on display as well.
As for the Mirko My Hero Academia figure, it will probably be a while before we see that 1/7 scale statue. Only an announcement came up for her. It showed her art and a possible pose.
Taito is working on the My Hero Academia Himiko, Froppy, and Mirko figures and, while there are no release dates, we should see Himiko first. The manga is about to end in August 2024, and Viz Media handles it outside Japan. The anime is streaming on Crunchyroll.

Marvel Rivals offers a variety of game modes that cater to different playstyles and strategies, ensuring there's something for every player. Whether you're escorting payloads or capturing enemy bases, Marvel Rivals has you covered. Here's a breakdown of the three confirmed game modes available in the Marvel Rivals closed beta test.
Game Modes Available in the Marvel Rivals Closed Beta
Convoy
In Convoy, one team takes on the role of the attacker, escorting an object along a predetermined path through the map. Overwatch players may recognize this as essentially being their Payload or Escort modes.
The defending team's goal is to ensure the convoy reaches its destination, while the attacking team is of course trying to destroy it. This mode requires strategic coordination and teamwork. Defenders need to work together to split their forces between defense and retaliation.
Domination
Domination involves multiple control points scattered across the map, which teams must capture and hold. Success in Domination hinges on strategic planning and map control. Teams need to decide whether to spread out to capture multiple points simultaneously or concentrate their forces to secure and defend specific locations. The dynamic nature of this mode encourages constant movement and tactical adaptability.
Convergence
Convergence throws players in a King of the Hill-style battle for a single control point that changes locations. This mode demands quick reflexes and rapid decision-making, as players must adapt to the shifting battleground and vie for dominance over the constantly moving control point. It's a high-intensity mode that keeps players on their toes, ensuring that no two matches are ever the same.
All these modes and lobbies are available in the closed beta. It gives players a diverse range of gameplay experiences as they dive into the world of Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals is currently in closed beta on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

In an interview on the Playstation Blog, Creative Director Guillaume Broche discussed the influences of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and the meaning of the game's double-barreled title. There is no firm release date for it yet, but it is expected to release sometime in 2025.
Broche began by explaining the meaning behind the title Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. "Expedition 33" straightforwardly refers to the protagonists belonging to the 33rd expedition to destroy the Paintress, the game's antagonist who can destroy generations of people by painting a number.
The first part is more interesting, referring to a French artistic movement that Broche said helped form the "overarching world of the game." He went on to cite some of developer Sandfall Interactive's favorite games. He noted the Tales of series, Persona, and Lost Odyssey influencing the game's RPG elements, while the combat takes cues from Devil May Cry, NieR, and the Souls series.
In case you missed it, here's the reveal trailer that offered a first look at the title's gameplay:
We got to see the title for the first time at the 2024 Xbox Games Showcase, with the announcement being accompanied by a trailer and a 2025 release window.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will release sometime in 2025 for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
