MechWarrior 5 Clans' first big DLC adds essential PvP and horde modes

While maybe not the most polished experience around, MechWarrior 5 Clans is a bit of a diamond if you love mecha games. With satisfying combat and some decent storytelling in its campaign, it's got plenty going for it. It's about to get even better, too, with two essential game modes, a new difficulty setting, and mech omnipods all arriving today - however, while some of it exists in a free update, the majority of the good stuff is locked behind a premium DLC called Trials of War.

progress orders

Bushiroad announced that it has begun development on a new fantasy RPG titled Progress Orders. Yoshifumi Hashimoto is the developer and producer. [Thanks, PR Times!]

You can watch the trailer for Progress Orders here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGcJ9cmCRz4

Progress Orders is a fantasy RPG in which you join the guild, Legion, in search of your grandfather. In exchange for Legion finding information on your grandfather, you decide to work there and gain the Clairvoyance ability. This power allows you to support and befriend your guildmates and other adventurers. Depending on Legion's reputation, you'll be able to add more powerful and experienced adventurers to your roster.

So far we only know two cast members: Shinsuke Sugawara (who voices the male protagonist) and Yukari Anzai (who voices the female one). Sugawara previously appeared in Reign of the Seven Spellblades as Guy Greenwood. Meanwhile, Anzai's most prominent role was Sanae in Ippon Again!.

Yoshifumi Hashimoto is a video game producer, director, and writer who's worked on many different games and series over the years. He's produced multiple games in the Story of Seasons series and the Rune Factory series. His most recent game is Rear Sekai, or Elrentaros Wanderings, which came out in August 2024.

Progress Orders will come out on April 10, 2025 for the Nintendo Switch and Windows PC via Steam.

fate/strange fake anime

The first episode of the Fate/strange Fake anime (with Japanese dub) will air on December 31, 2024 during the special New Year's television special for the Fate series. There is also a trailer for the first episode. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

Here is the newest trailer for Fate/strange Fake:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1HBflk_E1M

All of the content will appear in the first episode. It shows off the various Servants and Masters participating in the Snowfield Holy Grail War. Characters like Flat and Caster appear, as well as familiar faces such as Gilgamesh and Enkidu. There is also a brief shot of Ayaka and Saber's first meeting, which parallels the signature scene of Saber greeting Shirou for the first time.

Aniplex announced in 2023 that it was producing a TV series based on Fate/strange Fake. This news came after the "Whispers of Dawn" OVA. The TV series will cover a bit of what the OVA did, but with more detail, as well as show what happens afterwards.

As for Fate/strange Fake, it is a spin-off light novel series penned by Ryogo Narita. Narita is a light novelist and manga writer whose original works include Durarara!! and Baccano!. The story of Fate/strange Fake follows a faulty Holy Grail War in Nevada. As an unsuccessful copy of the Holy Grail War in Fuyuki, the one in Nevada has some bizarre aspects to it, such as a missing Saber class and a blurred definition of what a hero is.

The anime adaptation of Fate/strange Fake will premiere at the end of 2024. Technically speaking, for a limited time, you can watch the English dub of the first episode on Crunchyroll's YouTube channel.

matsudaira ken sanrio

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Hello Kitty, Sanrio will have an "amigo" collaboration with Ken Matsudaira. Designs featuring Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel wearing traditional Japanese garb and doing their best with Matsuken Samba with their stubby little limbs.

https://twitter.com/sanrio_news/status/1860835842648142171

The entire image that Sanrio shared has an almost Y2K kind of feel. The hearts and "Ken Matsudaira x Hello Kitty" text look bedazzled, likely to match the bedazzled kimono that Matsudaira is wearing. As mentioned earlier, Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel are also wearing kimonos. Hello Kitty's bow has a more Japanese aesthetic to it, and Dear Daniel is sporting a traditional chonmage hairstyle.

Ken Matsudaira, or Matsuken, is a Japanese actor and musician, with "Matsuken Samba II" as his most popular song. Like how almost a decade later, Psy gained popularity for "Gangnam Style" due to both the song and the music video, "Matsuken Samba II" gained attention due to him dressed like someone from the Edo period (but with a glittery kimono) and his dance. The song itself remained on the Oricon Top 100 chart for over a year and he's still associated with it today. A game even came out in 2021 that was a collaboration between Matsuken and the Arima Kinen in which you had to watch the race together without inadvertently making him break out into a samba.

More information on the Ken Matsudaira and Sanrio collaboration, including merchandise, will appear at a later date.

Somehow Square Enix's Symbiogenesis NFT Project Continues, Enters Season 3

Square Enix announced that season 3 of its its NFT project Symbiogenesis will start on December 10, 2024. NFTs of characters from this season will be available for purchase from this date as well.

Season 3 of Symbiogenesis will take place in the Martial Kingdom, as well as introduce a new species and a mysterious presence. In the Martial Kingdom, representatives of the six races will come together in a meeting, only for the third dragon to attack. As mentioned earlier, season 3 characters that hadn't been auctioned off will be available for purchase. More information on the characters, as well as prices and sales method, will appear at a later date.

Square Enix launched Symbiogenesis in late December 2023 as its first NFT project. However, news of it began circulating on the Internet from late October 2022. This was because many people assumed that the trademark may have something to do with Parasite Eve. Symbiogenesis features multiple stories, with a main story that everyone can access and unlockable stories that players can discover via finding items or working with other players on Discord. Each character specializes in finding a different item, which is an important factor in deciding if you want to buy them.

Symbiogenesis season 3 will run from December 10, 2024 to February 6, 2025. It is available on Google Chrome.

scenario planners monolith soft

Monolith Soft—best known for developing series like Xenosaga and Xenoblade—will slowly introduce the different jobs there are in the video game development industry, starting from scenario planners. This is a job that's far more extensive than a normal writer.

A scenario planner doesn't only work on the text of the story. They're the one who plans out and oversees just what makes the game interesting. Not only are they someone who's an expert on stories, but they're also in charge of deciding what kind of experience the game will give the player. This includes deciding on basic settings and play feel. Though it's a very extensive job that requires you to wear many hats, you are able to work on the overall framework of the game.

If we look at Monolith Soft itself, Tetsuya Takahashi, one of the co-founders of the company, worked on the scenario for multiple games, including the Xenoblade series and Xenogears. For Xenoblade, he also worked as the executive director and voice director, though a normal scenario planner likely will not need to fill in those extra roles as well.

More information on other jobs that exist at Monolith Soft will appear via its official X (formerly Twitter) page. It didn't state what the upload schedule would be like, so there's no telling when the next post will appear.
