This time, the culprit is Matthew Ball of analyst firm Epyllion, who remarks in a sprawling State Of Videogaming 2025 report that "some gamemakers hope GTA 6 will be priced at $80-$100 [in the USA], breaking the $70 barrier and helping $50 titles to move up to $60, $60 to $70, $70 to $80, etc." Picked up by VGC, these comments have now been circulated on social media, and have attracted the extremely polarised mixture of responses you're probably expecting. Among those chipping in is Larian's director of publishing Michael Douse, who makes the familiar argument that overall prices for games like GTA aren't necessarily higher today when you factor in economic inflation, while also acknowledging that up-front price alone doesn't explain the industry's recent mass livelihood devastation, and that few people would happily pay that much for a video game - not even Our Lord In Open Worlding GTA. |

The 7.16 patch is here and many of the FFXIV patch notes cover the job changes made to PvP Actions for classes, with the Viper and White Mage among the nine with the most changes. Over 50 actions now have a shorter period between action execution and effect activation, with the Monk, Samurai, and Warrior seeing the most changes.
Most of the changes involve buffs. For example, with Viper there's an overall increase in potency for four actions. Likewise, this is the case for the White Mage. Though in the case of two actions, text also was changed or removed. The Summoner job also ended up seeing two changes, with one increasing potency and the other adding a Slipstream buff to the user as well as their allies.

McDonald's and The Pokemon Company International announced that Happy Meals in the US will feature Pokemon Trading Card Game cards. These will begin appearing in late February 2025, though there is no exact date yet. It will also be accompanied by a promotion tied to the Pokemon TCG Pocket and app purchases.
When people buy the Happy Meal, they will get a pack of four themed cards. There will also be a sheet of stickers with it. Some of the included cards will feature characters like Charizard, Dragonite, Eevee, Hatenna, Jigglypuff, Koraidon, Miraidon, Pikachu, and Umbreon. These will be "legal" cards that you can use in decks and official matches.

As for the special bonus for Pokemon TCG Pocket, that kicks off at the end of February as well. People who buy a Happy Meal will also get a 24-pack of Hourglasses and 12 Wonder Hourglasses with their meal.
This McDonald's Happy Meal collection isn't the only big development for the Pokemon Trading Card Game. The Prismatic Evolutionsexpansion is out now, and high demand has led to availability issues for it. Trading and more boosters are also headed to Pokemon TCG Pocket.
The Pokemon Trading Card Game Happy Meal will be at McDonald's in the US in late February 2025. Pokemon TCG Pocket is available on mobile devices.

NHK has revealed that it will air a radio show focusing on Hideaki Anno and two of his anime series. The show, titled "Today is a Whole-Day Focus on 'Hideaki Anno's World,'" will go live on February 11, 2025.
The radio show will have a particular focus on two of Hideaki Anno's anime, both of which will celebrate major anniversary milestones in 2025. The Neon Genesis Evangelion anime show is having its 30th anniversary since it premiered in 1995. The other title will be Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, the 1990 anime show that has its 35th anniversary in 2025. As a side note, while the Evangelion franchise has been more frequently featured in the Super Robot Wars crossover games, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water made its debut in the 2018 entry Super Robot Wars X.
Despite featuring Hideaki Anno, the man himself will not appear at all in this radio show. The announcer Azusa Miyazaki will host the show, with the anime and tokusatsu researcher Ryusuke Hikawa providing explanations. The radio show will also feature Teresa Ikeda, Nagi Inoue, and Haruka Kaki—three members from Nogizaka 46 who are also known as avid Evangelion fans—as guests.
The NHK radio show "Today is a Whole-Day Focus on 'Hideaki Anno's World'" will be aired on the NHK FM channel on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 12:15 PM until 6:50 PM JST.

holo Indie revealed Chrono Gear: Warden of Time, a new platformer action game that will star the Hololive English Vtuber Ouro Kronii. The new game will be available for PCs via Steam in English.
The player will control Ouro Kronii, who has to fight against dark demons spawned by Alter Laplus while finding Golden Gears to fix the space-time continuum. The gameplay system will feature time speed controls befitting Kronii's personal abilities, such as Haste to speed up time and Stasis to slow it down.
GalaxyTrail and Team Chrono Gear are developing the Hololive game in such a way that it can cater to both speedrunners who strive to record clear times and completionists who want to find hidden collectibles. The game will also have over 75 music tracks, with some of them being remixes of original songs by Hololive Vtubers.
In addition, Chrono Gear will feature the other second-generation Hololive English Vtubers besides Ouro Kronii, with characters like Nanashi Mumei and Hakos Baels confirmed to appear in the game's key art and screenshots. The inclusions of IRyS and the now-alumna Ceres Fauna show that the complete Hololive English -Promise- group will comprise the game's primary cast.
Chrono Gear: Warden of Time will be available for PCs via Steam.

Sunrise and Khara announced that Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- has grossed over $3.8 million in the first three days after the movie launched in Japanese theaters on January 17, 2025. The exact amount of revenue in Japanese yen is ¥598,832,300 with 352,522 tickets sold at 426 theaters in the country.
Sunrise has also published a new Promotion Reel video for Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- on the Japanese official Gundam Channel on YouTube. It shows how the Mobile Suit-based clan battles take place in a parallel version of the Universal Century timeline, with Zeon officers overseeing the matches. The closing segment of this video also teases the appearance of Char Aznable in his One Year War-era attire.
The above video also features Kenshi Yonezu's "Plazma" as the movie's opening theme song. The actual movie has two more songs that appear as insert songs, which are Hoshimachi Suisei's "Mou dou nattemo iiya" and Nomelon Nolemon's "Midnight Reflection."
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- is readily available to watch in Japanese theaters. However, Sunrise and Khara are also working with distributors around the world so that the movie experience for the upcoming TV anime series is not limited to just Japan. In addition to North America via GKids, the Japanese press release also confirmed cooperations with DEX for Thailand, Sugoi Co for Australia and New Zealand, and Medialink for Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
