PCGamesN Tuesday, August 12, 2025 4:42 PM Assassin's Creed Shadows is a return to form for the series. It doesn't make my personal top three, but it manages to be a colossal, time-stealing open-world game without feeling like a chore or a reskin of AC Valhalla. I know not everyone gets on with it, but there's no denying it's been a win for Ubisoft. A valid point of criticism though, which I share as someone who's been playing since the first Assassin's Creed in 2007, is that it doesn't heavily lean into the series' overarching Assassins versus Templars narrative. As Yasuke, you can dig into Templar activity and face some affiliated enemies, but it never feels like a major focus. However, that may soon change. Speaking in an AMA, Ubisoft developers say that the 17-year-old narrative thread linking the series together won't be ignored much longer, with a "deep dive" into this story arc coming in "the near future." The next Nijisanji English Vtuber graduation will involve Rosemi Lovelock. Like Selen Tatsuki, she was a part of the OBSYDIA generation that debuted with Petra Gurin in July 2021. Anycolor announced on social media that her last day is August 29, 2025. She followed that up with a stream discussing her decision.
The announcement involved a number of important dates for fans to keep in mind as she nears the end of her time with the company. She graduates on August 29, 2025, which is also when her social media accounts close. Anycolor will keep her memberships open until August 31, 2025. Her YouTube account will remain online, with non-membership videos available. People can send fan mail until September 30, 2025.
Here is the full Rosemi Lovelock stream in which the Nijisanji English Vtuber discusses her decision to graduate from Anycolor's company.
This is one of many Nijisanji graduations, terminations, and "separations" in the past few months of 2025. Fulgur Ovid and Ike Eveland both left in April 2025. Twisty Amanozako was terminated in June 2025. Anycolor "separated" from Aster Arcadia in July 2025, following his unexplained absence since December 2024. Reimu Endou announced her graduation in August 2025.
Rosemi Lovelock will graduate from Nijisanji English on August 29, 2025, but the past public videos from the Vtuber and songs will remain available on YouTube.

Dengeki Online has opened up an unofficial character popularity poll for The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-. You can cast your votes through Questant here, and you can only vote once. [Thanks, Dengeki Online!]
The popularity poll is only in Japanese, so you might need to use a translation program to help if you can't read it. The first question asks you to vote for your favorite character. At the bottom, there's an option to fill in your favorite character's name if they don't appear in the list. The second question lets you type in why you voted for that character. All subsequent questions focus more on your personal details, likely so Dengeki Online knows the general demographic of its voters. Results for the The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- popularity poll will come out in mid-September 2025.
The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- is a combination SRPG and visual novel that Too Kyo Games released in late April 2025. It's a collaborative effort between Kazutaka Kodaka (Danganronpa) and Kotaro Uchikoshi (Zero Escape). The story follows a group of students who find themselves taken to a mysterious school called the Last Defense Academy. They have to work with the others to defend the school from monsters for 100 days. The game also features a hundred endings, with possibly more on the way via DLC.
The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- is readily available on the Windows PC and Nintendo Switch.

NPC Studio announced it will be working with Fangamer on Fields of Mistria merchandise, and the first two items to be released are pins of March and Reina. These are two of the love interests who have been present since the game's early access launch. Each one is available on the US and EU storefronts for $12/€14. Both are the first official products to be sold based on the game.
Nina Matsumoto designed both the March and Reina Fields of Mistria pins, and in the past did art for other Fangamer merchandise for games like Ace Attorney, Deltarune, Mouthwashing, and Persona 3 Reload. Each one is a lenticular pin that, based on the way hold it, shows the love interest in a different outfit. Each one is in their spring clothing, which is the attire they wear when you first start the game and meet them. If you adjust the positioning, you see the swimsuits they wear during the summer season.
Here are the official photos from Fangamer of each one:

It's not surprising March was one of the two characters picked for the first releases. He's proved to be the most popular love interest in the game. Back in September 2024, NPC Studio confirmed he'd gotten the most gifts from players at the time. At the start of August 2025, the developer noted in a new update on social media that March is still on top. Of the 20,300,000 gifts given by players in the year since it launched in early access, 2,300,000 of them were given to March.
The Fields of Mistria March and Reina pins are available through Fangamer in the US and Europe now. The game is in early access on PCs.

Bandai Namco announced it will offer a collection of Shin Megami Tensei series personal marker charms, and it will include characters from SMT V like Jack Frost, Black Frost, Pixie, Cironnup, and Alice. They will appear in gashapon machines in Japan starting in November 2025, though we might see them in capsule machines worldwide after that. The SMT V Vengeance Capchara figures and Tsumande Tsunagete Mascot charms did both appear worldwide.
This is a fairly standard collection of Bandai Namco personal marker charms. Each one comes with a lobster claw clasp attached to the charm, and that is connected to a stretchy, translucent band that could be placed over the handle of an umbrella or on the top of a water bottle. A try on the gashapon will be 300円 (~$2).
Shin Megami Tensei series personal marker charms collection does seem like it pulls from SMT V Vengeance and its characters for this selection. Jack Frost and Black Frost are recurring mascots for this Atlus series. However, Alice, Cironnup, and Pixie are all possible Demon Quest Navigators if you complete quests tied to them.
Here's how all five charms look:

As part of One Piece Day 2025, Bandai Namco and Omega Force announced One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 will get more DLC with Character Pass 3. New characters will start to appear in the Musou game in Fall 2025, as that's when DLC No 7 debuts. Then DLC No 8, which features Most Wanted Character Poll winners, will follow in "early" 2026. The season costs $29.99 on Steam, the PlayStation Store, and the Microsoft Store, and it also comes with Shanks' Divine Departure Special Technique as a bonus.
Only one of the three Fall 2025 DLC characters is confirmed so far. Rob Lucci CP-0 will be added. Much of the initial footage of him shows him with his Cat-Cat Fruit Model: Leopard and Rokushiki attacks. He'll appear alongside two other unknown characters and three costumes for units.
We do know all three characters in the Special Selection DLC No 8 add-on, however. Eneru, King the Conflagration, and Z the "Black Arm" Zephyr. They actually showed up first in the trailer that revealed the new pass.
Here's the One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 Character Pass 3 DLC trailer.
While One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is a five-year-old game now, it's still getting various updates. For example, back in February 2025, Bandai Namco announced PS5 and Xbox Series X versions.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is available for the Switch, PS4, Xbox Series X, and PC, it is headed to the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and Character Pass 3 DLC will start to appear in Fall 2025.

The marketing blitz for the new Call of Duty has begun, and it involves podcasters who may be oblivious to what's happening—or in on the joke entirely. It's difficult to tell.
For those unaware, an ARG website recently popped up for a fictional company named The Guild, which is the entirely fictional and villainous organization from the upcoming Black Ops 7. But using its marketing budget, Activision has begun deploying ads for the company as if it were real, creating for some creepy commercials mid-show.
![]()
An example popped up recently in Caleb Hammer's financial advice show on YouTube. The ad read in question starts at 43:20 of one of his recent episodes, and it sounds like it's an actual, legitimate ad for a big tech company. Hammer reads the script given to him, as podcasters are wont to do, and it's tough to tell it's fake until the very end.
"When we talk about personal finance, it's about risk management," Hammer says. "Things like building an emergency fund and investing instead of blowing those dollars on taquitos. But when it comes to the real world, what if protection could be something you subscribe to?"
It starts off innocuously enough, but it quickly gets eerie and a bit odd for those who are keenly paying attention (which is funny, because I and basically everyone in the world scrubs past these ads in podcasts).
"I'm not talking about another streaming platform or gym membership that takes an arm and a leg to cancel, I mean security for your well-being and family that no one else is offering," he says. "That is the idea behind The Guild. With years in the defense sector, they're equipped to build the AI systems and robotics that keep all that we know safe, especially in unpredictable times like now. So if you could safeguard the life you've worked so hard for, why would you not?"
At this point, the red flag begins to wave. AI systems and robotics to keep YOU physically safe? So, robot bodyguards? And then he brings it home with some true creepiness.
![]()
"You don't need another subscription, you need boots on the ground protection with future-proof tech," he says, with a classic CoD catchphrase describing non-jetpack gameplay snuck in there. "That is The Guild. You care about future-proofing your finances, so maybe start thinking about how you're protecting your life. If big tech's watching you, The Guild is watching out for you."
The ad read closes out with Hammer calling The Guild "a creative property of Activision" and directing them to the ARG site, but it's all just words to the listener. What's scary about this is how real it seems this ad could be. Buzzwords like AI systems and robotics, defense sector, and unpredictable times? Yeah, we're living it, and that's what makes the idea behind these ads and BO7 itself so interesting.
Visiting The Guild's website shows robots helping people in disaster relief situations, and it looks to be a central part of BO7's near-future story where the bots will likely be characters, killstreaks, or both. But honestly, it doesn't seem too farfetched anymore. And that's exactly the kind of note that Activision is trying to hit with these ads.
![]()
This year's CoD may end up "sucking" in the eyes of players everywhere, yadda yadda, but this is some pretty cool marketing that I can't help but appreciate. We'll know and hear more about BO7 when its gameplay debuts at gamescom next week.
