Two Square Enix mobile games, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Dragon Quest of the Stars, will shut down their Japanese servers on October 31, 2025. You cannot purchase anything in the games with real currency anymore [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius came out in Japan in November 2015, and the global version launched in March 2016. The global version ended in October 2024, almost exactly a year before the Japanese server will end. After Final Fantasy Brave Exvius ends, Square Enix plans to release a Memorial Version, which will let you reread the main story and access some of the archives.
During the Grand Finale for Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, Square Enix will release the final chapter, as well as several story and battle events. You can also purchase original merchandise, like T-shirts and keychains. These will come out on October 31, 2025.
As for Dragon Quest of the Stars, this also came out in 2015 in Japan, and the global version came out in 2020. According to Square Enix, it had to shut down Dragon Quest of the Stars due to difficulties in production and development, and it became difficult for the team to provide a satisfying experience for the players, especially in current times with so many other competing smartphone games. To celebrate the 10th anniversary before the game ends, Dragon Quest of the Stars will give out lots of gems and legacy equipment.
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Dragon Quest of the Stars are available on mobile devices, and they'll both shut down on October 31, 2025.

Cygames announced on social media that it is now selling t-shirts of Umamusume: Pretty Derby characters through the Amazon Merch on Demand shirt service. Over 30 styles are available. All of them are designed for adults. Even characters who aren't available as Trainees yet, like Manhattan Cafe and Kitasan Black, appear as options. However, it also seems like some characters who are present in the worldwide release aren't available as options yet, like Agnes Tachyon.
Here's the full list of all the Amazon Merch on Demand Umamusume character shirts immediately available. Both men's and women's styles are available. Men's appear in small through 6XL, with 2XL tall through 5X tall also available. Women's can be found in XS through 6XL. Each one features the character in a black and white outline running in front of their name on a black shirt.

Demonschool, a strategy RPG inspired in part by games like Persona, ended up delayed again. This time, Necrosoft Games and Ysbryd Games cited Hollow Knight: Silksong as a reason for it being pushed back. The original release date would have been September 3, 2025, one day ahead of the Team Cherry Metroidvania's September 4, 2025 debut. It will now appear on November 19, 2025.
This is one of many Demonschool delays, though previous ones focused solely on ensuring the quality of the title. As a result of the game being pushed back, Necrosoft announced two types of additions. One is that it will ensure the game is in better shape for launch. The other is that post-launch updates will be included in the launch build. Among that extra content will be more endings we can unlock.
As part of the statement from Ysbryd Founder Brian Kwek, he noted, "Thus, the Ysbryd team strongly believes we would not be doing our game any favors by wading into waters we can clearly see are blood red. If the September period is going to be Silksong's moment, then we need to be elsewhere on the calendar to give Demonschool its own moment to be seen and talked about meaningfully." He also asserted that this was a last minute decision and confirmed the company "already distributed Steam keys to press as part of a healthy review program."
Demonschool will come to the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox Series X, and PC on November 19, 2025.

Koei Tecmo shared its Tokyo Game Show 2025 booth details on its official site at the end of August 2025, and it is only confirming three games for TGS 2025 this year. One of them will be the upcoming Switch 2 Musou game Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. However, while some series will be absent, those may be present in the form of merchandise sold at the event.

We now know three major companies' plans for TGS 2025. Bandai Namco will feature six games at booth, and a stream dedicated to Jump+ Jumble Rush. Two of the titles at the event in the Family Game Park area will be ones that will be available worldwide by the time the show runs, Everybody's Golf: Hot Shots and Tamagotchi Plaza Switch 2 Edition. Capcom will show eight games at its booth. Of those, the two already available ones are Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6.
