Welcome to the Week in Review

Intro – Lance
As we wrap up the last week before embarking on nearly 14 days of festivities across our various communities, companies have been peppering us with CES promises (the event begins on January 4), Star Trek “Computer”-worthy AI updates, and fresh app stores for robots and AI.

Rather less exciting news is that the RAM panic is intensifying, which doesn’t bode well for those hoping to buy new PCs, graphics cards, and more in 2026.

There were smaller stories too, like glimpses of the latest incremental upgrades coming to iOS 26, which include weather wallpapers and, surprisingly, an easier way to make the leap from iOS to Android. I guess a better question is if you’ll be running iOS 26 (or iOS 27) or Android on a foldable phone, with Samsung set to continue rolling out fresh flexi models while we wait for Apple to join the purposely bendable phone fray.

We discuss the Samsung Trifold in the latest episode of the TechRadar Podcast, along with the tug of war over Warner Bros. between Netflix and Paramount, and we also have a few predictions for the coming year in tech – don’t miss it!

It certainly feels like things are winding down as we sunset 2025, which means more time to watch the ever-fascinating Pluribus, the F1 movie, or the return of Fallout – don’t miss out round-up of what we think you should be watching this weekend.

Before I leave you to your holiday binge-a-thon, be sure to check your inbox on New Year's Eve for a very special issue of this newsletter – our annual Year in Review. We’ll help you put every part of this wild tech year in perspective (expect more than a few mentions of AI).

Happy Holidays!
