Sega announced that all three live-action Yakuza Powered by Nihon Touitsu episodes are now available on YouTube with English subtitles. These cover the events of the original Yakuza and Yakuza Kiwami and touch on the second game. The company didn't note if they will be available permanently or they will eventually be removed from its official channel. In total, they last about three hours.
This is a fairly recent retelling of the early events in the Yakuza games, as the live-action adaptation first showed up on Amazon Prime Video in Japan in February 2026. It also isn't a direct 1:1 recreation of the first game, though it does cover some of the major plot beats of Kazuma Kiryu taking the fall for the death of Sohei Dojima, getting out of prison, meeting and protecting Haruka Sawamura, getting involved in Tojo business, and uncovering the truth behind what happened to Haruka's mother.
Here's the first episode of Yakuza Powered by Nihon Touitsu.
You can watch the second one here:
And here is the third and final episode:
Another live-action series based on the games appeared on Amazon as well under the name Like a Dragon: Yakuza. That aired in 2024. You must go through Prime to watch it.

Bandai Namco's MegaHouse brand will bring back both the Digimon Adventure GEM Series figures of Angemon with TK Takaishi and Angewomon with Kari Kamiya. Both will be more expensive this time around, as they'll be ¥19,800 (~$125) each. The official MegaHouse site has listings up for both. The Angewomon and Kari one will launch in July 2026, followed by Angemon and TK in August 2026.
Both of these Digimon Adventure figures originally debuted in February 2016, making it the 10-year anniversary for both of them, though this will mark the third time we will see the Angemon and TK one appear. It also showed up in September 2022. They are each about eight and a half inches tall (220mm), and there are no design changes between the first release and these latest ones. This means the Angemon one features the Digimon carrying TK on his right shoulder, while Angewomon is flying ahead of Kari, who is running after her.
Here are the first photos of the two returning figures:
This comes a year after the 25th anniversary of Digimon Adventure. There were a number of special events and projects to celebrate that occasion in 2025. For example, a special video appeared. An event was held in Tokyo too.
The Digimon Adventure Angewomon and Kari figure will return in July 2026, and the rerelease of the Angemon and TK one will show up a month later in August 2026.

Nintendo announced that it will release an updated Switch 2 that will make it possible for consumers to safely replace the lithium-ion batteries in both the Switch itself and the Joy-Cons. So far, it seems that Nintendo will only releaase this model in Europe. This is to comply with laws. It's unknown if that option could appear in models worldwide. [Thanks, Nikkei!]
This is a response to a regulation from the Council of the European Union. This regulation first appeared in 2023, and it dictates that all new handheld gaming consoles will need to have replaceable batteries by 2027. Sustainability reasons are cited for this new rule. This is because lithium-ion batteries also hold less charge over time and they may expand, which is very dangerous.
Currently, Nintendo's policy is that consumers are not to replace the batteries in a Switch or Switch 2's console or their Joy-Cons on their own. If you need to replace them for whatever reason, you'll need to send them in for official repairs. The Nikkei article mentions that maintenance rights fall under general consumer rights. If manufacturers monopolize maintenance, it may lead to consumers needing to buy a new product or pay more for something they could have done themselves or from a cheaper third-party professional. Nintendo has stated that if consumers in Japan and North America also wish to exercise this maintenance right, it may release this updated Switch 2 model in those regions as well.
There is no information as of yet in regards to when the Switch 2 model with replaceable batteries will come out in Europe, and the Nikkei article did not mention whether it will cost the same as the default version. To comply with regulations, though, it should come out before 2027.

Crimson Desert has plenty of Alchemy materials to find that will be required for Alchemy to produce various elixirs and materials with different purposes. Some of these recipes will need to be crafted on regular intervals, so you'll need to stock up on the materials.
The massive size of Pywel means that it's almost impossible to find exact locations for the materials. I have mentioned areas and estimated locations of all the materials that I have found. I will be adding more items to the table in the section below once I discover them on my adventures.
How to find all Alchemy materials in Crimson Desert
The exact location for almost every Alchemy material appears to be completely random. However, their zones/areas appear to be the same. This doesn't change based on the items that I have tested with my buddy, who has been playing with his own setup. However, it's safe to expect some location changes if the places I have explained in the table below don't help you to find what you're looking for.
There are a bunch of materials (mostly butterflies) that I have yet to find. I will be updating their locations on the table above once I manage to find them.

Marathon's first endgame experience is here. Two weeks after launch, Cryo Archive has unlocked and teams of three are gearing up and ready to lose it all.
Cryo Archive is a total secret up until this point in time. Narrative wise, this is a huge day for fans of the original franchise as players set foot on the UESC Marathon ship for the first time. But for fans of other Bungie games, it may feel familiar.
The stakes and presentation of Cryo Archive are giving big Destiny 2 raid vibes. Bungie is hosting a live stream for the event, and players everywhere are encouraged to stream their perspectives. It's unclear if there's one true "world first" winner of Cryo Archive, especially since it's not a one-to-one of a PvE raid like in Destiny.
But for now, Runners are building their loadouts and getting ready to risk it all to discover the secrets that lie within Cryo Archive. If you can't play the map on launch (like me) and are planning on following along, this is the place for you.

Marathon Cryo Archive - Live updates
What is Cryo Archive in Marathon?
Cryo Archive is the fourth map in Marathon, and the first new location added after launch. It's described as a highly difficult endgame map, where players will be tested in ways they have not experienced yet.
"The UESC Marathon ship left Mars for the Tau Ceti solar system in 2472," Bungie teased of its lore. "It arrived 300 years later. Then… silence. Contact with the 30,000 colonists who set out to make a new home on an alien world was lost. Decades later, the Marathon ship still hangs abandoned in orbit, a frozen snapshot of the past promising valuable resources and information for anyone brave enough to make the trek and survive."
When it comes to difficulty, Bungie says expect to die, fail, and lose a lot of gear:
Marathon Cryo Archive requirements
To enter Cryo Archive, there are multiple requirements to be met:
Cryo Archive Security Clearance
One of the mechanics players will need to master in Cryo Archive is called Security Clearance, "a progression you build up over the course of a single run by interacting with the ship's systems and surviving long enough to leverage them."
Different areas and places inside Cryo Archive are locked behind specific Security Clearance levels, "including doors, supply rooms, and exfils," and "the more important the system, the higher the clearance you'll need to use it."
Cryo Archive's 7 Vaults
Cryo Archive contains seven different Vaults, which are "heavily-secured rooms have some of the most lucrative loot in the game, some of which you can't find anywhere else." Vault Keys to enter these special areas have already been found on other maps in the game, but they can also be found within Cryo Archive, too.
"To access each Vault, you'll need to complete its unique entry challenge or access requirements," Bungie explained. "Each Vault also requires a specific Vault Key for entry. Once you're inside a Vault, you'll work through tense puzzle interactions and race against other crews who know exactly how valuable these rooms are."
Even exfiltrating from Cryo Archive will be difficult. Bungie says they are "less reliable and follow different rules than the planet-side zones," so players will "need to learn how exfils work to secure your way off the ship."
How to watch Marathon Cryo Archive race
To find streamers playing Cryo Archive, visit the Marathon directory on Twitch. Top streamers like Shroud, Aztecross, DrLupo, GernaderJake, and more will be live-streaming their perspectives throughout the day.
Bungie is also hosting its own live stream on the official Marathon Twitch channel, featuring top ARG-solving gamers MrRoflWaffles and Skarrow9 live from Bungie HQ.

Combat is one of the most key components of Crimson Desert, and I would even argue it's probably its best feature, aside from the huge open world that you get to fight in. From swords to daggers to massive shields or your own fists, Crimson Desert really lets you take it out on the folks of Pywel whichever way you see fit.
Of course, no combat system would be perfect without a proper parry mechanic, and Crimson Desert really rewards you for using it, as many powerful enemies such as bosses can be truly put in their place through chaining proper parries.
So, here's how you can do it.
Crimson Desert parry, explained
To be able to parry in Crimson Desert, you will first need to unlock it. You do so by earning an Abyss Artifact and then spending it on the Keen Senses skill group under the Spirit tree. Opening Keen Senses, you will find Parry in the top right, and it is the first passive ability you get from upgrading Keen Senses, while upgrading it further will also allow you to Counter enemy attacks.
Once you do have Parry unlocked, all you need to learn is timing. If an enemy strikes at you, you need to wait until they're just about to hit you and then hit the Block button on your respective platform. You'll know if you succeeded if your character blocks it in slow motion with a green effect surrounding them.
Whether intentional or not, you can "parry" the enemies attacking you, but apply the parry effect on the enemy you're aiming at instead, potentially helping you take down and single out powerful mobs by using the weaker ones' attacks against them.
That could end up being patched, though, but it is what I experienced during my time reviewing the game.
Parries can be performed using any weapon, but shields seem to be the easiest and most effective at this. Greatswords, axes, or spears are nonetheless useful and can still parry, but I found the extra protection provided by shields on top of their exceptional parry potential to be the most effective.

Crimson Desert's massive open world is rich with content and things to do, allowing you to go anywhere and do anything.
Kliff, the main protagonist, alongside other playable characters, is an interesting personality that, though often silent, intrigues us with his cold but calculating behavior. But can he engage in romance or even experience romantic storylines through the main story or side quests?
Here's everything you should know.
All you should know about romances in Crimson Desert
Though heavily inspired by all sorts of modern RPGs and MMOs, which these days tend to feature romances more often than not, Crimson Desert does not have any classic RPG romance, as it is neither an RPG nor an MMO. The game is structured similarly to Red Dead Redemption 2 and the newer The Legend of Zelda titles, which did not have overt romantic approaches either, unlike popular RPGs like The Witcher 3.
That is not a detrimental aspect of the game, though. You get to play as several characters, from the crestfallen Kliff to the fugitive Damiane, and experience the world from their perspectives and see things as they see them. Even if sometimes nonsensical and disconnected, the story of Crimson Desert tells enough of the world of Pywel and these characters of ours that romances aren't really necessary, nor are there backgrounds and narrative arcs that ever take the game in that direction.
Being a good person, honorable, and noble is what matters in Crimson Desert. The mystical forces Kliff comes into contact with thrive on his kind nature, which is exactly why they chose him as a paragon of sorts. The others try to do good as much as they can, too, and suffer personal struggles either on their own or in the presence of warrior comrades.
Romances, thus, do not feel as if they're some "missing" piece of the puzzle that would have made the world and story of Crimson Desert more complete. If at some point an expansion pack or similar DLC is released, then I could see Kliff or the other characters being given a focused, engaging story with better writing than the main game that could give us more insight into them as a person, which would be the perfect place to introduce romances.
At the moment, they're just not there, and honestly, maybe it's for the best.

Earlier this week, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered got an unexpected update that added new challenge gameplay modes, as well as a few new outfits for Lara Croft. Cool, or it should've been, because every new element has seemingly brought huge problems to the game.
I thoroughly enjoyed the remastered trilogy back when it came out, but I found the new outfits from the preview too uninspired to get me to pick up the games again. I really should have, though, because there's a bizarre mystery waiting to be unveiled here, and not an intentional one. First off, the outfits are even worse than they were in the preview. They seem straight-up unfinished.
Some complaining fans even accused Crystal Dynamics of using AI to create the outfits and other assets, believing that no professional 3D artist would produce and turn in something so poorly made. Though there are no guarantees that Crystal Dynamics used generative AI in creating the new update, fans have pointed out inconsistencies in Lara Croft's new models and icons that one would typically expect from an LLM.
Crystal Dynamics has responded, stating that no AI was used in creating these outfits and that the studio is working to fix bugs.
Interestingly, another party with no involvement in creating the new content was the original development team for the Tomb Raider Remastered trilogy, as one of their main devs has stated.
So who did it? We don't know. It's a weird situation, because the original remaster was made by fans whose passion could be felt when playing the game, but that's absolutely not the case here.
And it goes way beyond the visuals, as players have been complaining about the new update breaking various gameplay aspects that the original release had nailed so well. Scathing Steam reviews warn that the patch introduced audio and visual bugs, destroyed enemy AI, added the supposedly AI-slopped graphics, and even deleted all of the users' saves.
After some pretty stellar Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain remasters, this completely unnecessary game and eye-breaking update is just bizarre. Getting free updates is awesome, but I doubt there's anyone out there who doesn't regret the release of this new update.
You can play Tomb Raider I-III Remastered on PC, PlayStation, Xbox X|S, and Nintendo Switch, but there's no guarantee that the experience right now will hold up to what we got upon release.

Crimson Desert's sandbox open world lets you do loads of things, which of course includes criminal activities, from breaking stuff and getting fined for vandalism to stealing farm animals to sell off to illegal merchants to taking a person's life savings because they left their door unlocked.
But even though these are possible, the game never really tells you how to do it or that they require a very specific prerequisite.
So, here's everything you need to know.
How stealing works in Crimson Desert
To steal or perform criminal activities, as the game calls them (which does not include some stuff you get fined for, like killing guards or civilians or destroying public property), you need to find and equip a Mask.
The Mask is a unique item that is specifically made to allow you to steal, letting you open any chest or pick up any item you find in the world that isn't yours or "shared" by a neutral or hostile faction. It is very easy to find, as it is a common drop from Bleed Bandits, who spawn all over Hernand and typically patrol the roads around the Duchy.
I most frequently found them respawning along the river just south of the city of Hernand, around the same mountain pass that you take to reach the Greymane camp. I also spotted them west of the city along the roads and among the woods, as they have several smaller camps set up where they seem to respawn. Indeed, one of the earliest quests you come across involving some missing cows will have you raid a bandit camp, and they'll almost certainly drop at least one Mask during that encounter.
Once you have it, merely equip it, and you'll be able to start stealing in Crimson Desert. This involves any sort of repossession of another's property, but be warned that a red area and a timer will spawn around you after you engage in stealing, and if guards or citizens spot you while the area is active, you'll be fined or pursued by the authorities.

Best players to use in Euro Trio Evolution
Here are some of my best recommendations for inclusion in the evolution.
While the upgrades are decent, you should aim to use this evolution to build a chain. This will allow you to upgrade the card further with better stats, which will be immensely helpful for the item in the future.

Though one of the most beautiful and breathtaking games I've played in a long time, Crimson Desert seems to have fallen afoul of the undisclosed use of generative AI.
As first spotted by Bluesky user lexuddy.xyz, the Oakenshield Manor in Hernand, a place you frequently visit during the game's initial parts, appears to have an AI-generated wall painting that depicts a battle scene from Pywel's history. From the distorted faces and headless horses that look like the stuff of nightmares, we can deduce that this is likely an image generated by some AI model.
Whether it's a placeholder or a deliberate inclusion in the final product is unclear at this time. As soon as we saw this, we reached out to Pearl Abyss for comment, but had not heard back by the time this article was published. We will update it with new information if and when it becomes available.
In the meantime, this is probably a case similar to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, where placeholder art and ideation made it into the game's final build unbeknownst to the developers—an issue that's likely to become all the more common as AI is taking up an ever-larger part in the conceptualization process.
That game, which went on to sweep through the awards season, also wound up being disqualified from the Indie Game Awards many months after the AI art in question was removed from the game and replaced with what was supposed to go there at release.
Crimson Desert is the result of immense effort and artistry, and even though I am genuinely disappointed to see this in the game, it should not be used to construct a case against the title or its stunning visuals, which are one of its stronger characteristics.
If it turns out that it isn't AI (the odds of which are very low) I wouldn't want to ever see into the mind of the artist making this painting, as this is the stuff you see when you're running the highest fever in your life and witness a battle scene that looks like it was painted by Hieronymus Bosch.

Crimson Desert is here, and players finally got the opportunity to take this ambitious and epic game for a spin. It sold over two million copies in less than 24 hours and is on track to become one of the most successful titles of 2026.
However, it's also facing a wave of criticism from players, who have flocked to platforms like Steam to leave negative reviews, driving the title down to the "Mixed" category on Valve's storefront, primarily due to technical issues.
While optimization is amazing and the game performs well above your average Unreal Engine 5 title, controls seem to be a massive problem for players, as Crimson Desert's overwhelming number of unique mechanics can and will become rather cumbersome to utilize, especially on controllers and consoles.
Mouse and keyboard players will generally have an easier time with this simply due to the sheer number of keys the game can use to map all the different actions, while those preferring laid-back couch gameplay will certainly see their fingers breaking more often than not.
And the developers are aware of this, as well as many other problems players might be running into, and have already introduced loads of quality-of-life fixes to make the game more enjoyable. On top of that, they want you to provide as much feedback as you can, as they are listening to every suggestion and complaint, trying to find the best way to solve any player headaches.
"We will listen closely to the wide range of feedback shared by the community and work to make improvements quickly, doing our utmost to make the journey ahead even more enjoyable for our players," they wrote on X.
The launch version of Crimson Desert is already significantly ahead of the review build I got to play. Journalists did not have access to Abyss Nexuses at the heart of the Greymane camp, nor did they get to fast travel to every major location and city. On top of that, the devs listened carefully to reviewers and implemented feedback we gave them with lightning speed, and I'm sure more of that will happen as time goes on.
Pearl Abyss appears eager to polish this rough diamond into a crystal-clear gem, and it would be a damn shame if technical hurdles were to destroy an otherwise fun title.
So, if you're a Crimson Desert fan and have something to suggest, do so. Leave a review, talk about it on social media, and do your best to have your voice heard, as the developers have turned themselves into one giant ear, eagerly listening to what you have to say.

March 20 has activated the Destroy Exospire mission in Helldivers 2, and it involves taking down the storm formations on planet Seasse. However, the job is easier said than done, and you can expect plenty of enemies that will try to disrupt your attempt. Let's look at how to easily complete the new quest that arrives as part of the Machinery of Oppression update.
Helldivers 2 Destroy Exospire walkthrough
Once you accept the quest from the terminal, head to Seasse to begin the quest. The Exospire is a massive-purple colored structure that is almost impossible to miss. When you reach its base, you'll realize that a giant shield blocks the entrance. You have to take this shield down before you can proceed further.
First, look for the sub-objective that requires you to disrupt a Shield Generator. You'll find the generator close to the Exospire. Keep shooting at the generator's shield until it gets destroyed. Next, destroy the generator by calling the Data Jack stratagem. Once the stratagem becomes active, enemies will start spawning on you.
To complete the process, you'll need to clear all enemies. Finally, initiate the power surge to bring down the shield that restricts you from entering the base of the Exospire. Once inside, you'll have to destroy 148 Dark Fluid Cells. These cells are on the walls, and you can start to shoot at them. However, you'll also have to be mindful of enemies who will try to stop you from succeeding.
The core will become completely destabilized when all the Dark Fluid Cells are destroyed. The core will then explode, and your task will be complete. When the core explodes, try to run as far away as possible. Otherwise, you'll get eliminated by the explosion (the task will still be completed irrespective of the results).

With Crimson Desert out and about now dividing the gaming community like Moses split the Red Sea, we would love to hear what our own readers think about the game. It's hitting huge milestones, and we ourselves genuinely liked it, but it seems Pearl Abyss' latest is quite the acquired taste.
Since recently, Destructoid has featured a community hub for each major game we review, with more to come even for titles that we've covered before the advent of these hubs. Over there, you can get the gist of not only our positions on a reviewed game but also provide us with your own thoughts and feedback via community ratings, allowing us to better understand your position on any given title.
Crimson Desert is exceptionally controversial, with reviews ranging from fours to straight 10s (we were on the higher end of the spectrum), and it sits at just around 56 percent positive reviews on Steam.
On that note, we would love to know what you think of it, since it would appear that Crimson Desert is either your favorite thing ever or something you returned as quick as lightning. To give your input via community ratings, you need to do the following:
That'll give us a lot of valuable insight into what our community likes, what it does not like, and what it would love to see more or less of in the gaming world. Crimson Desert's massive open world and liberal inspirations drawn from franchises like The Legend of Zelda (especially the later releases) and Red Dead Redemption, as well as even some MMOs, make me think our community in particular has favorable opinions of the game.
I could be more than wrong, though, so please do leave that rating, and don't just do it for this game either. Any title that we've reviewed tends to have one of these hubs, so your feedback can always come in handy and help us build a better community here on Destructoid.

The Hassius Conflux puzzle, located near the House of Healing in Crimson Desert, is one of several headscratchers you'll encounter at this location. You can reach the spot by going east from Hernand and then moving close to the Halssius House of Healing. Moreover, this location is also part of a side quest, so you'll likely reach the puzzle sooner or later.
If you manage to solve the puzzle, you'll get more Abyss Artifacts that will allow you to upgrade your skills (and gear). This guide will list all the steps to solve this puzzle.
Crimson Desert Halssius Conflux puzzle solution
Once you've reached near the House of Healing, go behind the main building. You'll find old ruins at this location, along with a giant wheel in the middle. The key to solving the puzzle lies in the wheel and the statues located around it.
First, the statue in the middle will highlight one of the other statues that are located on the outside. You'll have to use the machine in front of the middle statue and use it to match a tile on the floor. For the first one, you'll want to highlight a mirror/circle-shaped tile.
Next, three light beams will highlight the statues with the scales, the jug, and the lute. Use the machine in front of the statue to move it right, and highlight the required tiles (the scales tile will be on the outer ring on the floor, while the remaining two will be in the inner ring).
Finally, statues with the lute, the horse, the mirror/shield, the jug, the horse, and the scales will all be highlighted. Move the machine further to the right, and stop when you reach the horse tile on the outermost of the three rings. The remaining tiles will automatically align as per the requirements.
To move the machine, you'll want to use your Stab attack. Once you want to release the machine, let it go, and the tiles will be highlighted if they're the correct ones.
