President of Whiteistan: Never quite got why in so many futuristic settings augmentations are treated like a new type of disease. Most arguments I've seen for it are that it would take jobs and that people aren't human after having augments, both of which are bullshit reasons. Most jobs wouldn't be affected by having augments, except for very specific professions like sports and such.
