Windbound Update Adds More Free DLC This Month

Exploration and adventure are two elements of video games that appear together quite often. The indie darling adventure game Windbound has been out since August of last year and has received multiple updates and expansions for no charge. The game quite nicely mixes exploration with adventure to great effect. Today, a tweet from the official Epic Games Store Twitter account announced that a new free Windbound update is here.

The tweet in question introduces the new features being added to the game by simply describing them like this:

– The Loathing.
– Forsaken Enemies.
– New Melee Combat moves.
– New Items.
– New Challenge Towers

The only thing on the list that isn't self-explanatory is "The Loathing." The Loathing is the latest DLC for Windbound. This will be the third free DLC addition to the game following its previous two expansions from December and October.

The specifics of each game addition aren't very clear, but Windbound players understand to expect the unexpected. As it's a procedurally generated world, developers throwing new items and mechanics at players isn't entirely out of the ordinary.

Along with the list of features, the Epic Games Store tweeted out a short video production diary focusing on the Windbound update. The four-minute video features developers talking about the decision to make the game procedurally generated and how that changed development.

You can pick up Windbound's soundtrack right here on Bandcamp and check out this video about the creation of the game's music.

If you're looking to grab a copy of the game, it's currently 50% off on Steam, so now's a great chance to snag it.

For more coverage of Windbound and its future updates, make sure to stick right here on DualShockers and check out our Windbound tag. Make sure to check out our review of the game right here.

Moltres Weakness Pokemon GO — Raid Guide and Best Counters February 2021

moltres-weakness-pokemon-go

February 20 is a big day in the world of Pokemon GO. It marks the beginning of the Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto, which is starting to roll out around the world. This means a change in raid bosses and the return of the Legendary Bird Trio. While these three Pokemon have been featured in raids multiple times before, new Mega Evolutions and moves are being released regularly, and therefore the meta often changes. With that in mind, let's see if Moltres has any Weakness in Pokemon GO and look at the best counters to take it down.

Moltres Weakness Pokemon GO

Moltres is a Flying and Fire-type Pokemon, leaving it with a trio of weaknesses to exploit. The Pokemon's dual Flying/Fire-typing means that both Rock, Electric and Water-type moves are super effective against it. This means there is a good range of counters to take down Moltres in Pokemon GO, but what are they?

Best Counters For Moltres

There are a few top counters to Moltres in the game, let's take a look at them.

Mega Ampharos and Mega Blastoise are the only Mega Pokemon that are worth currently considering for Moltres Raids, but even then, there are better counters.

The main type of Pokemon you will want to consider for Moltres raids is Rock-types as there is plenty of choice and they're relatively common. Rhyperior is probably the best performer in this area, closely followed by Ramparados. Gigalith, Tyranitar and Terrakion are also great counters.

Alongside the Rock-types, there is a handful of other decent counters. Kyogre is probably the other option here.

Mega Ampharos – Volt Switch/Power Gem
Mega Blastoise – Water Gun/Hydro Cannon
Rhyperior – Smack Down/Rock Wrecker or Stone Edge
Ramparados – Smack Down/Rock Slide
Gigalith – Smack Down/Rock Slide
Tyranitar – Smack Down/Stone Edge
Terrakion – Smack Down/Rock Slide
Kyogre – Waterfall/Surf

We also have raid guides for Articuno and Zapdos from the Kanto Tour event. You can check them out here – ArticunoZapdos.

Fortnite Ryu Skin Could Be Coming in the Leaked Street Fighter V Crossover

Fortnite Ryu Skin

Recently, a massive leak from Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 and Season 6 revealed some of the Epic Games' biggest surprises for the players. While some early information from the leaks pointed out to the return of new Midas skins and Kevin the Cube to the game, a most recent rumor suggests that the next big crossover in Fortnite will bring Street Fighter 5 characters to the game, including the Fortnite Ryu skin.

As usual, the first details about an upcoming crossover in Fortnite can be obtained through the island's portals, which are the gates of other dimensions that allow characters from various mediums and games enter the world of Fortnite. Recently, the Tron crossover event was leaked through a portal, and now one of newest portals of the game gives off Street Fighter vibes.

Thanks to ShiinaBR, we got our first look at the Skirmish Portal in Fortnite, which showcases a scene directly related to one of the classic entries of the Street Fighter series, accompanied by an score that sounds like the original soundtracks of the Street Fighter titles.

Ryu has always been one of the most beloved characters in the Street Fighter series, which means if a crossover takes place, the Fortnite Ryu skin will likely be available. However, it remains a mystery what other characters from the Street Fighter franchise will receive a unique Fortnite skin during the event.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is currently live and players are in the Week 12 of the season. If you are looking for the XP coins of this week, make sure to check out our guide on the locations of all ten XP coins in Week 12.

Fortnite is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, Android, and PC. The game doesn't receive any update on iOS devices as Apple has banned Epic Games from launching its products on App Store.

Sea of Thieves Crashing? Here are Some Quick Fixes

Sea of Thieves

Despite being a great medium for it, I don't think there are quite enough pirate games. Sure there's the Monkey Island series and, yes, there was the wonderful Assassin's Creed 4: Blackflag, but I still want more. They appear to be hard at work fixing issues as they released another statement today saying that they are continuing to "investigate recent reports of game crashes."

What Exactly is the Persona 5 Strikers Protagonist Name?

Atlus, Nintendo, Nintendo Switch, Omega Force, P Studio, P5, P5S, PC, Persona, Persona 5, Persona 5 Strikers, PS4, Switch, Ryuji

The proverbial flood gates for Persona 5 Strikers have been lifted for those who preordered the game digitally. For the rest of us waiting on physical copies of the game, all we can do right now is avoid spoilers and speculate over what adventures await the Phantom Thieves in this new outing. After doing some touching up on the main story beats from Persona 5 in preparation, I started to wonder about the main character's name. Obviously, he goes by Joker as a code name in palaces, but what exactly is the Persona 5 Strikers protagonist name?

As it turns out, the answer is quite easy to find. Joker's canonical name is Ren Amamiya. This is how he's referred to in the anime adaptation of the game Persona 5 the Animation. He also goes by this in just about every other appearance he makes.

The only time Joker doesn't go by Ren (or the various nicknames the rest of the cast gives him) is in the manga adaptation of the game. For reasons unknown to me, Joker's name is Akira Kurusu in the comics. He's never referred to by that name outside the manga so it's curious as to why it changes for that.

Of course, the name of the Persona 5 Strikers protagonist is entirely up to the player. I've seen a lot of people name them Ren or Akira to match their other appearances, but because the name is never spoken out loud, it doesn't make a whole lot of difference.

For more on Persona 5 Strikers, make sure to check out our review of the game right here. The game officially releases February 20, so if you still haven't preordered it yet, there's still time. You can also read this article that details the relationship and confidant systems in P5S right here on DualShockers.

Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection – Why Fans Are Unhappy?

Ninja Gaiden Master Collection ps4 switch pc steam koei tecmo team ninja unhappy fans story feature ryu hayabusa

Here's why several fans are unhappy with how the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection is shaping up.

Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja announced Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection on the Nintendo Direct February 2021. The game is coming to Switch, but also PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection will release on June 10, 2021.

The game will compile the adventures of Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden Sigma released in 2007. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 from 2009. And Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge from 2012.

The official site specifies the female characters of the series, Rachel, Ayane, Momiji, and Kasumi, will appear as they did in the original version of the games. Which means there's no need to worry about costumes censorship. In addition, most of the DLCs from the original games including DLC costumes will be available from the get-go too.

Some functions will be removed however: There's no online multiplayer for the Tag Missions in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Moreover, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge's Clan Battle for Shadows of the World was removed. And there's no online for Ninja Trials.

However, it's important to note the Ninja Gaiden Sigma games are already ports, different than the original Ninja Gaiden games.

Ninja Gaiden wast first released on Xbox in 2004, and then the PS3 port Ninja Gaiden Sigma happened in 2007. Similarly, Ninja Gaiden 2 first launched on Xbox 360 in 2008, and was later ported as Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on PS3.

The series' main designer Tomonobu Itagaki – the main creator of Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden – and Team Ninja, really went all out with the blood and gore in Ninja Gaiden 2 specifically. In comparison, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, while adding new content most notably with Ayane, Rachel, and Momiji being playable, also heavily censored the game.

But censorship is not the most important issue by far. The biggest change to note and what makes many fans unhappy are direct gameplay changes. Some of the stages of Ninja Gaiden 2 are completely different in Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma. The maps and layout are the same, but the enemies' placements and waves are like night and day.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 also has several changes to the item system, the weapon system, bosses, etc as well. Some are enhancements, but some can also be considered downgrades.

At the end of the day, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 are pretty much different games instead of an original and its port. Fans are unhappy and sad that even with these new remasters, the only way to play the original Ninja Gaiden 2 is still having access to an Xbox 360.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Compared To Ninja Gaiden 2

As such, it's understandable why many fans are unhappy that Ninja Gaiden Master Collection contains the Sigma version instead of the original.

Personally speaking, I'm pretty bummed as well, but at the end of the day this collection is better than nothing. Beggars can't be choosers, and at least this shows Koei Tecmo is not forgetting about the Ninja Gaiden series and still pushes the series forward. I'm all for trying to make the best out of a situation that didn't turn out like you expected.

Fumihiko Yasuda mentioned he'd definitely like to make a sequel one day in the press release for the Master Collection. Though the current head of Team Ninja also stressed out it's not in development.

Genshin Impact Wish Upon A Lantern – How to Scan QR Code & Get More Lanterns

To take part in the event, players need to register on the event web page. For PlayStation users, the process is a bit different. Players will receive an email on their official email with a link to access the portal. If players are using third-party accounts, then they need to make sure that they have their accounts linked on the miHoYo account page. Scanning the QR code is quite simple. If you have an iOS device, just open the Camera app and point at the QR code. You'll get a notification on top which will allow you to access the link.

For Android users, it varies based on the device you own. Some devices will detect a QR code directly from the in-built camera app. For other devices, you can scan the QR code via third-party apps. A nice alternative is to use Google Lens. Google Lens is available in the default Google app for Android. Simply open the Google App and tap on the lens icon to open the scanner. Point at the QR code and you will get an option to open the link. Do make sure that you don't delete the email during the course of the event else you will not be able to access the portal again.

Once you have reached the portal, all you need to do is click on the Release Lantern button and you will get one of the five lanterns. There are a number of quests as well which can be completed to increase the number of lanterns you get. On the first day, you can get a maximum of four lanterns. Once you have all the five lanterns, you will be eligible for the Primogem reward. If you are not able to get enough unique lanterns on the first day, keep trying on subsequent days since the quota resets every day.

Genshin Impact is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS, Android, and PC.

Legend of Mana Remaster – All The Changes Listed

Seiken Densetsu Legend of Mana remaster PS4 Switch PC Steam Square Enix screenshots 1

Here's all the changes coming in Legend of Mana Remaster compared to the original PS1 game, compiled below.

Square Enix announced a Switch remaster for Legend of Mana during the Nintendo Direct February 2021, with a June 24, 2021 release date. However, Legend of Mana remaster is not only coming to Switch, but also PS4 and PC via Steam. With a $29.99 price tag. Legend of Mana remaster will only get a digital edition, but a limited physical edition was announced in Japan.

Graphical Changes, 4:3 to 16:9 Aspect Ratio

Legend of Mana is originally a 2D game. In the remaster, all of the artwork has been redrawn in HD. This makes all of the game's artwork and background clearer. One could argue that certain imperfections gave more fragrance to certain elements. Such as the leaves' shadows in the comparison above. You can make several comparisons on the Legend of Mana remaster Japanese official site.

Going from the PS1's 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9 aspect ratio, players now have a bigger view on the game's environments. In other words, the screen is zoomed out.

UI Change, Text Font Change

Menus in Legend of Mana remaster have been optimized and are easier to use. It's nice to see Square Enix took into considerations the menus, considering the menu lag bug of Seiken Densetsu 3 was not corrected in Collection of Mana on Switch.

The text's font has been changed as well, and it's especially easier to read in Japanese. Moreover, the dialogue windows were enhanced and will now show more text.

Newly Rearranged Original Sound Track

Some of the music tracks in the game have been rearranged. Players can switch between the original or rearranged OST in the Options menu.

Turning On And Off Enemy Encounters

Legend of Mana has no "run away" option in battles. This new feature in the remaster allows you to turn off enemy encounters. Making re-exploration or backtracking less tedious.

New Gallery Mode And Music Mode

The Gallery Mode includes the original game's illustrations and 2D artwork. The Music Mode lets you listen to all the tracks in the game. Note that the original PS1 game already had a sound test mode, but unlocked after clearing the game once. However, you can access Gallery Mode and Music Mode at any time in Legend of Mana Remaster, through the Options menu.

Save Anywhere And Auto Save Function

Legend of Mana remaster lets you save anywhere through the Option menu. However, there are exceptions and you cannot save in certain locations. In the original, you could only save by going back to the protagonists' house. A new Auto Save function was added as well.
