Biomutant Guide – How to Get the Best Melee and Ranged Weapons

biomutant

There are a variety of different weapons to be found in Biomutant, whether it's a snazzy gun that shoots electricity or a power fist. But if you're tired of wailing on enemies with under-powered weapons and want to murder them post-haste, there are two powerful weapons you need to get your hands on. The first is the Pri Murgel Sword, a two-handed melee weapon that's rated at 5.5 stars but can be upgraded to 7 stars with add-ons. It has 160-228 base damage and +125 Heat damage on top.

To get it, you'll first need to the Googlide for traveling across water. Use this to reach the island with the Lumentower. After reaching the top of the tower, use the Lumenlamp to locate a cave on a mountain and get "The Beacon" side quest. Venture to the mountain and look for the cave entrance. Enter inside and there should be a mini-boss called Surf Huggle to fight. Use ranged attacks to take it down quickly and then look for walls with runes on them. Activate them and the Pri Murgel Sword will appear, yours for the taking.

If you're more into guns – and you should be since they're very strong – the Contagion Flurpskruckis should be top of the list. It's a 9-star weapon found in Sector 11G's Fume Foundry that has a whopping 391-512 base damage and +125 Biohazard damage. You'll need 60 points in Agility to use it so make sure you're investing in the same from the start.

Make sure you have a Radiation Suit to safely traverse the zone. Once you enter the area, take down the Farty Bulbaploo mini-boss and get the Fume Foundry Vault Key to start the "Fume Foundry Vault" quest. Simply travel to the vault and the gun will be inside. What makes the Contagion Flurpskruckis so good outside of its high damage is that every fourth shot will unleashing mini-missiles that will track foes.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition Guide – How to Level Up Quickly

Mass Effect Legendary Edition (4)

Mass Effect has always been a rather odd leveling experience. You can't hit the max level of 60 in a single playthrough, even if you do all of the content. Obviously, if you're looking for ways to level up quickly, then complete all of the side quests and mining opportunities on every planet. Don't use any Medi-Gel because when stocks are full, you get 450 XP for each one you pick up. Opening crates, unlocking doors, finding Codex information and talking to every character is also key for either earning XP or opening up future opportunities for earning more.

Another useful strategy for Mako missions is not to outright kill enemies with the vehicle. Instead, use it to bring their health down and then get out and finish them on foot. This provides even more XP than vehicle kills do. You can also earn additional XP when exiting the elevator in the Citadel and killing multiple Geth Destroyers during the finale mission; killing additional rocket drones in Bring Down the Sky (in the second torch station's top floor) if one to two enemies are still alive; and killing additional waves of Geth on Casbin for the mission UNC: Geth Incursions (make sure you don't destroy the Geth Dropship).

Of course, there's also the new Legendary Mode introduced in Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, which scales the level cap down to 30 for Mass Effect 1. The amount of XP earned throughout the game is still the same though. If you're keen on streamlining the overall leveling experience and don't care for more incremental power upgrades, this might be worth opting for.

For Mass Effect 2, you'll need to import a character from Mass Effect 1 and do a second playthrough. The latter provides bonuses for XP so even though you won't have retain the same level as your first playthrough, it will still be easier to hit the level cap in the second. Again, do every side mission, main mission and assignment to gain XP while killing every foe that you come across in combat.

In Mass Effect 3, you'll have to import a character from Mass Effect 2 and, once again, don't use any Medi-Gel. Any surplus Medi-Gel found will thus convert to bonus XP (which increases based on the difficulty). Play through all of the DLC as well as the main missions and side missions. If you're still having trouble hitting max level, play through on New Game+ for the XP bonuses.

Dragon Quest Treasures Announced – RPG Spin-off Focuses on Treasure Hunting

Dragon Quest Treasures

If it weren't enough to announce Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake and Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate, Square Enix also unveiled another new Dragon Quest title in the 35th Anniversary Special livestream. Dragon Quest Treasures is a spin-off that stars Erik and Mia from Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age. It doesn't have a release date but is targeting a simultaneous release worldwide.

One of the key themes is treasure hunting, which can be seen in the initial trailer. Erik and Mia's childhood also plays an important part though whether the title is set during that period is unknown. Despite being classified as a role-playing experience, it won't be a traditional Dragon Quest title.

More details will be revealed later so stay tuned. As for Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake and Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate, no platforms or release windows have been announced but they're also planned to have simultaneous worldwide releases.

New Nintendo Switch Releasing in September-October 2021, Announcement Coming Soon

nintendo switch

There's been seemingly no end to the rumors surrounding the new Nintendo Switch, which will be an upgrade over the current model, but it seems an announcement is finally coming up. According to Bloomberg, Nintendo is planning to begin assembly in July and the console will release in September or October this year as per people familiar with the same. It will be priced higher than $299 and could likely be announced before E3 2021 begins.

This is to provide an opportunity for publishers to showcase Switch titles at the actual conference according to anonymous sources. Furthermore, the current Switch model will be phased out overtime with the Switch Lite becoming the de facto budget options. Interestingly, the commercial name is only known to "a handful of people" within Nintendo.

Insider Emily Rogers also on Twitter that the announcement of the new Switch "seems imminent." She was also confident that a Metroid game would be releasing this year (which could refer to the rumored 2D Metroid being developed by MercurySteam). Bloomberg's report was noted to be "accurate" especially with the plans for a September-October release. The console will have a new screen and upgraded chips and it seems that news will be dropping "sooner than we thought."

E3 2021 is slated to run from June 12th to 15th.

Resident Evil Village Crosses 4 Million in Shipments and Digital Sales

Resident Evil Village

In a recent press release, Capcom revealed that Resident Evil Village has passed four million total shipments and digital sales worldwide. The survival horror title launched on May 7th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS5 and Google Stadia. It hit three million in shipments and digital sales on May 11th.

Resident Evil Village has garnered positive reviews since launch (check out our review here) and continues to top sales charts. In the UK, it debuted on top and recently retook the spot for the week ending May 22nd despite sales dropping by 61 percent. The NPD Group sales for the United States should be interesting when they eventually arrive.

Of course, there's more Resident Evil content on the way. Capcom unveiled Resident Evil 4 for VR platforms and is rumored to have a full-on remake in development. There's also Resident Evil Outrage, which is a follow-up to the Resident Evil Revelations series and apparently a timed exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake Announced, Utilizes Octopath Traveler Engine

Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake

Before it unveiled Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate, Square Enix had an altogether different surprise in store for fans on the Dragon Quest 35th Anniversary Special livestream. It revealed Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, a remake of Dragon Quest 3 that utilized the Octopath Traveler engine (which is also being used for Project Triangle Strategy). Check it out below.

Developers AMATA K.K. and Team Asano are in charge of the remake. Producer Masashi Takahashi, who worked on the Bravely Default and Bravely Second: End Layer for the Nintendo 3DS, is on board. He stated that the goal was to recreate the classic in the HD-2D style so that "everyone will have the chance to experience the game through fresh eyes, from adults who played the original back when it was first released, to little kids picking it up for the first time."

No release date or platforms have been announced for the remake though it will be coming to "home consoles." A simultaneous worldwide release is also planned so it should be interesting to see how long the English localization takes. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate Announced, Releasing Worldwide Simultaneously

In the Dragon Quest 35th Anniversary Special livestream, series creator Yuji Horii confirmed what everyone expected – a new mainline Dragon Quest. Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate is currently in development and planned for a simultaneous worldwide release. Check out the brief teaser trailer below.

Of course, no release date or platforms were announced. It was confirmed that the battle system would be changing though in what way is yet to be revealed. The last mainline title in the series was Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age which released in 2017 for Japan on the Nintendo 3DS and PS4 before its worldwide release for PC and PS4 in 2018.

The real question is whether Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate would be coming to PS4 at all. Production is only continuing for the PS4 Slim 500 GB "Jet Black" edition in Japan while all other models have been discontinued and the PS5 takes precedence. Granted, the PS4 still has a fairly large audience, both Japan and worldwide, so it seems a given but time will tell. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Activision Bans 350,000 Call of Duty Accounts for Toxic Behavior

Warzone Season 3

Toxicity is a problem in almost every online community, but it's especially prevalent in online shooters, and especially Call of Duty, where the racism and sexism present in the online lobbies have became a meme. Activision, however, is trying to create a safer environment for their audience. It's an admirable effort, and now we get to see what we're doing.

"We are committed to delivering a fun gameplay experience for all of our players," Activision wrote on its blog providing an upgrade on its anti-toxicity initiative. "There's no place for toxic behavior, hate speech or harassment of any kind in our games or our society. We are focused on making positive steps forward, and together celebrating the best fans in the world."

Activision announced that they had banned "over 350,000 accounts for racist names or toxic behavior based on player-submitted reports and an extensive review of our player-name database" across Call of Duty: Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare, and Call of Duty: Mobile over the last twelve months. Activision also said that they want to continue to improve " player reporting capabilities and moderation, as well as addressing voice chat to help combat toxicity," and acknowledged that they still have a long way to go.

Uncharted 4 PC Port Confirmed in Official Sony Documents

uncharted 4

Earlier this year, when PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan confirmed that Days Gone would be releasing for PC, he said that it would be followed by "a whole slate" of PlayStation exclusives following suit. Recently, hidden listings on PlayStation's official Steam creators page also suggested that more releases were on their way. Now, it seems the next big PlayStation exclusive that will be coming to PC has been confirmed.

As spotted over on ResetEra, in their recently published quarterly fiscal presentation, Sony have seemingly confirmed that Uncharted 4: Among Thieves, which launched for the PS4 in 2016, will be releasing for PC at some point in the future. The action-adventure title is mentioned as a planned PC release, which is surprising (to say the least), since no such official announcement has been made. But here it is- Uncharted 4 is coming to PC, apparently.

It will be the third big PlayStation exclusive to release for PC, following Horizon Zero Dawn in 2020, and Days Gone, which released just a few days ago. Uncharted is one of Sony's biggest properties, of course, and Uncharted 4 one of their highest selling games of all time, so this is a big deal. It hints at exciting things to come, in terms of first party PlayStation exclusive titles receiving PC ports.

Jim Ryan has previously said that bringing PlayStation exclusives to PC is "a fairly straightforward decision" for Sony, so expect many more games to follow in Uncharted 4's footsteps.

Mayhem Brawler, Indie Beat 'em Up, Releases in August

It's a good time to be a beat 'em up fan. The genre has experienced something of a resurgence in recent years through releases like the excellent Streets of Rage 4. Fans of the genre also have something to look forward to this year in the form of Mayhem Brawler a new game from indie studio Hero Concept. The comic-book brawler will be coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on August 18th.

A self-described urban fantasy title, Mayhem Brawlers is set in a city controlled by a megacorporation and its army of mutants. If that's not enough, there's also werewolves, vampires, wizards, and other fantasy creatures to fight. PLayers choose from one of three characters – Star, Dolphin, and Trouble – and clear out the bad guys who stand in their way.

Hero Concepts has put in an impressive level of work here. Aside from being gorgeous, the game features three-player couch co-op, a fully-voiced story mode with multiple paths and endings, and tons of enemies and bosses. Hero Concepts will be showing Mayhem Brawler at June's Steam Next Fest and Xbox Summer Games Fest events, so we won't have to wait long to see more.
