Halo Infinite Dev Gives Details On Battle Pass Progression, Including No "Per-Match XP" At Launch

While it seemed that the game was in danger of yet another delay, it was confirmed earlier this month that Halo Infinite would still be making 2021 at the tail end. While it will lack some key modes and features, the base campaign and multiplayer will be here in December. Speaking of the latter, like so many other multiplayer experiences, Infinite's will be more involved with things like Battle Passes and seasons. There's still a lot of questions about how that will look and work, and today we got a few details, though it may be some that fans might be sour on.

Speaking on his Twitter, Community Manager John Junyszek spoke briefly about the Battle Pass progression system. It seems it will be focused on daily challenges, with promises that there will be a lot to do, and even though it will be possible to exhaust those challenges for those dedicated to the grind, Junyszek thinks there will be plenty for the average player. He also said something sure to raise some eyebrows by confirming that you will not be able to get "per-match XP," meaning that you won't get any XP towards your Battle Pass by simply playing matches. You will have to engage with the challenges to some degree, it seems, if you want that sweet XP.

Junyszek says there will be a blog post soon with more details, so we will have a clearer idea of what that will look like then. Needless to say, some probably won't be too happy with that, but part of the live service model is the ability to change things due to player feedback. We'll see what it's like when Halo Infinite launches on December 8th.

Fatal Frame: Maiden Of Black Water Gets Over 50 Minutes Of Gameplay Footage

After years of being in the grave, the Fatal Frame series will rise again with a remaster of the last entry in the series, Maiden of Black Water. Also for the first time in many years, the game will not just be on Nintendo platforms and will once again see itself come to a variety of platforms. The title was originally a Wii U title that released in Japan first and then came to North America and Europe afterward a good while after Japanese launch. Due to all those circumstances, it'd be understandable if you happened to miss it when it came around the first time in 2014. Now you can get a very lengthy look at the game with a new Japanese demo.

Coming from the latest episode of Famitsu LIVE, we got to see a lot of the early game, almost a full hour in fact. The video, which you can see below, is in Japanese with both Japanese text and commentary. So you may be a little lost if you don't know the language, but if you're curious how the game plays or what the environments will feel like, you can get a pretty solid idea.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will release for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch and PC on October 28th, and will include a free upgrade to next gen consoles for those on current systems.

WarioWare: Get It Together! Shows Off More Co-Op Gameplay And Minigames

Those who know and love the WarioWare series know that it can be a chaotic and crazy time. The franchise has been through many different iterations, always finding something just different enough to keep things fresh while still keeping the frantic pace of the minigame-based gameplay that's defined it ever since the very first entry way back on the Gameboy Advance. The next entry, Get It Together!, is really no different as now the cast of characters themselves are directly getting involved in the minigames, and it also has a new co-op focus that was highlighted today.

Via the official Nintendo YouTube, we got a look at some co-op gameplay. As expected, the co-op aspect ends up creating a new layer of craziness, especially for minigames that your partner may not be prepared for. Speaking of, the video also has a few new minigames that we haven't seen. You can check it out in full below.

WarioWare: Get It Together! will launch on the Switch September 10th. If you want to try it out yourself, there is also a demo available now.

No More Heroes 3 Is The End Of The Series, Creator Confirms

The No More Heroes 3's official Twitter account has revealed that the No More Heroes trilogy is finally over – with the release of the final game today. Originally, No More Heroes 3 was subtitled as FINAL BOUT – All-Out Galactic War, and it's near impossible to decipher whether this is a joke or not.

No More Heroes 3 is of course, the conclusion of Travis Touchdown's adventures. What awaits him in his final battle will only be known to players who complete the game, which has been recieving generally positive reviews across the board.

Grasshopper Manufacture will probably be moving on to greener pastures with its next project, and it'd certainly be interesting to see the studio's learnings implemented in a new space. Gamescom 2021 has also concluded after a flurry of interesting announcements and reveals, including a release date for Halo Infinite as well as an official delay announcemnent for Horizon Forbidden West.

PS Plus September 2021 Games Possibly Leaked – Rumor

A recent rumor has suggested the batch of free September 2021 games for PS4 and PS5 ahead of official announcement, of course. French site Dealabs has unearthed the information, and has been a reliable source of information in the past – adding some credibility to the leaks.

The games mentioned in the alleged leak are – Hitman 2, Overcooked! All You Can Eat, and Predator: Hunting Grounds. This comes shortly after the rumored launch inclusion of The Medium on the service, which Bloober Team was quick to debunk. Collectively speaking, it's arguably identical in quality to this month's lineup – which includes Hunter's Arena: Legends, Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, and Tennis World Tour 2.

PS Plus games have certainly seen a noticeable dip in quality in recent months, which reflect in Sony's numbers. The Japanese game maker lost over 1 million subscribers as per its quarterly financial reports, all while Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has been making waves within the industry.

New Grand Theft Auto Character Confirmed By Voice Actor

Voice actor Dave Jackson recently took to Facebook to confirm that he would be playing the role of one police officer by the name of Captain McClane. In the post, he reveals that this character would be a part of the "new Grand Theft Auto" series.

This vague terming has fans anxious and excited at the same time, since it isn't entirely confirmed whether this character would play a part in Grand Theft Auto 6 or GTA Online's future content. However, considering the fact that the voice actor isn't apparently under an NDA – it seems fair to put one's money on the latter possibility.

Rockstar currently has two Grand Theft Auto projects in the works for now – a still unconfirmed GTA Remaster Trilogy by Rockstar Dundee, as well as the next entry in the franchise which of course, is also unconfirmed. A plethora of rumors have surfaced over the years, some which seem to be most likely rubbish – read more on that through here.

Horizon: Zero Dawn PS5 vs PS4 Pro – Frame Rate And Load Time Comparison

Guerilla Games recently announced that the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West has officially been delayed to next year, but fans can enjoy Horizon: Zero Dawn on Sony's next-gen hardware with some new improvements. Check out our video below to see a comparison between PS4 Pro and PS5's framerates and load times.

The PS4 Pro's favor performance mode aims for a 30 fps target, and does a great job at sticking to it. The PS5 – on the other hand – doubles the framerate while keeping all resolution and graphical settings intact. It's possible to see a frame drop here and there, but the PS5 does a solid job at sticking to its target – which isn't suprising considering the hardware's horsepower.

Load times have similarly seen an improvement too – as the PS5 loaded into the game in just under 30 seconds while the PS4 Pro took a little more than a minute to do the same. Of course, the fact that the game is running in backwards compatibility mode on the PS5 doesn't allow for the best usage of the SSD – but it remains a noticeable improvement nevertheless.

Saints Row Trailer Shows Gameplay; Details the Setting, Characters, Factions, and More

Volition and Deep Silver took the stage at Gamescom Opening Night Live a couple of days ago and officially lifted the lid on the Saints Row reboot, and though quite a lot of details have emerged about the game since then, fans only got to see a CG announce trailer rather than something with actual gameplay footage.

Publisher Deep Silver has now rectified that and released a new trailer for the upcoming reboot, which shows various snippets of gameplay, while also providing several new details on the game itself. Saints Row is set in the new city of Santo Ileso, inspired by the American Southwest, and the trailer takes a deep dive into its design, variety, various districts, and more.

New details are also provided on the four primary characters of the game (which includes the protagonist, of course), as well as the three main ruling criminal factions that you'll be taking on across all of Santo Ileso. The developers also touch on the customization options and sandbox activities, emphasizing that though the reboot takes a more grounded approach than some other recent Saints Row games, there's still plenty of opportunities for players to mess about in the open world for some chaotic, over-the-top fun. Check out the video below.

Saints Row launches on February 25 next year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC (as an Epic Games Store exclusive). Its Gold and Platinum Editions have also been revealed- read more on that through here.

We had the chance to attend a virtual media reveal event for Saints Row, where we got to see plenty of gameplay and learned quite a bit about the game, its structure, and primary mechanics. You can get all of those details through here.

Sega Atlus Stream Confirmed for TGS 2021

Tokyo Game Show will be kicking off in a little over a month, and Sega has confirmed that Atlus will have a dedicated stream during the online event. The stream will begin on October 1, the day after Tokyo Game Show kicks off, and will last until October 3 alongside the rest of TGS.

There are no details right now about what we can expect to see at the event, but we can speculate, of course. Shin Megami Tensei 5 is launching for the Switch in November, and it's quite possible that we'll get to see more of that game. Atlus could also take this opportunity to announced upcoming mobile titles.

Of course, the elephant in the room here is Persona. In celebration of the series' 30th anniversary, Atlus plans on making a total of seven announcements from September of this year until autumn of 2022. The developer is currently hiring for Persona 6but it's unlikely that that will be announced just yet.

Either way, we'll keep you updated on any new details that come our way, so stay tuned.
