Shardpunk: Verminfall Demo Now Available
Turn-based tactical fans can sink their teeth into today's demo for Clockwork Pile and Retrovibe's Shardpunk: Verminfall.
Set in a steampunk world, this tactical squad-based survival strategy game tasks players with planning fights, resting at camps, juggling resources, and seeking out the safety of bunkers. Throughout it all, players are constantly on the run from swarms of heavily armed – and vicious – mutated rats in what is being called The Rat Swarm. After laying siege to The Empire's Capital, a number of city-dwellers are depending on you for survival.
All the guns in Shardpunk: Verminfall are energy-based, with a cooldown system in place for when things get a little too heated. Players will also be tasked with figuring out exactly how they'll deploy their fusion cores, along with a high amount of flexibility when putting together your crew of survivors.

Deep Dive into DEATHLOOP with Arkane Lyon
Combining elements of Dishonored and Prey, Deathloop has been designed to give players the abilities (such as guns, melee attacks, environmental means, or even non-lethal options) needed to complete the "perfect loop." To spice things up, the title features a multiplayer aspect that lets a second player fill in the shoes of agent Julianna, who must take down Colt.
The game will come out for the PlayStation 5 and PC on September 14, 2021. All those interested can pre-order the title here.

Powered by the Frostbite engine, this sports game will feature a number of visual upgrades. Player likenesses have been overhauled, and all-new eye animations that track and react to the action around them have been included.
New to this release are Superstar X-Factor abilities, which allows players to unleash unique player abilities that make stars feel like stars. "Make it Snappy," "Quick Pick," and "Tape to Tape" are just some of the ways players will be able to be ready for anything.

Soldiers will be able to take on a pivotal role and change the face of history with the release of Sledgehammer Games and Activision's Call of Duty: Vanguard later this year.
Set in World War II, the single-player campaign of this title will feature an interweaving story of the multinational heroes that have formed Task Force One. Members of its ranks include the playable characters Private Lucas Riggs, Sergeant Arthur Kingsley, Lieutenant Wade Jackson, and Lieutenant Polina Petrova. Players will engage enemies across the Eastern and Western Fronts of Europe, along with the Pacific and North Africa, as they experience four major theatres of war.
Its multiplayer mode will include 20 maps at launch, which includes 16 built for core gameplay. An advanced Gunsmith and Caliber system that brings immersive and reactive environments to players will make an appearance. Also included in the next iteration of the 2v2 Gunfight mode first introduced in Modern Warfare: Champion Hill.
Finally, an all-new Zombies game mode primarily developed by Treyarch Studios will make an appearance. For longtime fans of the series, it will continue and intertwine with the Dark Aether story.

New B.I.O.T.A. Demo Now Available
See the 4-color palettes and 8-bit visuals of small bros and Retrovibe's B.I.O.T.A. firsthand with today's free demo of the game.
Set in the year 21XX, players will command the Gemini 2 team as they set out to investigate the Frontier Horizon mining colony on an isolated asteroid, which has ceased all communication.
Once there, this unit learns of "the agent," which can interact with every element of an ecosystem and can take full control of organisms. Players will have to fight more than 40 vicious degenerated monsters like mutated hornets, armed shield sentries, and lethal infecting xenoshifters.
Although the game looks retro, this MetroidVania features modern conveniences like saving anywhere and swapping palettes any time. Players will also have a number of tools at their disposal, including a submarine, a mech, a shuttle, and even the mythical Pegasus.

Sonic Animated Short "Rise of The Wisps" Released
Ahead of the release of Blind Squirrel Games and SEGA's Sonic Colors: Ultimate next month, the first episode of "Rise of the Wisps" has been released.
The episode, which can be seen below, has Sonic and Tails joined by a lone Jade Wisp. After escaping Sweet Mountain at Dr. Eggman's Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park, they set out to undo this villain's evil plot to harness the Wisps and take over the universe. For longtime fans of the series, Tyson Hesse (Sonic Mania) directed this episode.
Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps – Part 1
Originally released for the Nintendo Wii in 2010, Sonic Colors: Ultimate features eight different types of Wisps, each with their own unique advantage. For instance, the "Cyan Laser" wisp turns Sonic into a laser, while the "Orange Rocket" wisp blasts Sonic upwards as a rocket ship.
New to this release is a fully remixed soundtrack and unlockable cosmetic options. The game will come out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store on September 7, 2021.

Set in the Zombie Army video game franchise, viewers will be able to follow Shola and Boris from the Alpha Squad as they set out on a mission that runs parallel to the game's storyline.

Dying Light Low Gravity Event Announced
Forces from outer space will besiege Harran with Low Gravity, the latest event in Techland's Dying Light.
This free event tasks players with protecting Earth from alien visitors. These unknown entities have modified gravity, with the Heroes of Harran jumping higher, falling slower, and taking less damage from falling. Players will also be able to use a grappling hook to quickly zip toward targets.
Those that defeat 100 enemies in the local event can get themselves the V-27 Chameleon Machete (gold). Meanwhile, in the global event, those that eliminate 100 million infected can get themselves three King upgrades.
A brand-new package of weapons and skins has also been included with the Astronaut pack. Available for $2.99, scope out the full list of perks below:
- Laser rifle – The V-23 Eraser – with laser ammo and a chance to burn enemies
- Stasis pistol – The V-40 Suspender – puts enemies in stasis with the last shell in every magazine
- Machete – The V-27 Shifter – changes its effect after several consecutive hits

Funded in just 36 hours on Kickstarter, the world of Anshar Studios' Gamedec is set to make its debut on September 16, 2021.
A game that puts a focus on non-combat, players are tasked with solving crimes inside virtual worlds. The world of Warsaw City of the 22nd century is ripe for exploration, with players taking control of a private investigator known as a Gamedec.
This title prides itself on emulating the flow of tabletop RPGs with a focus on character development through decision making. Along the way, players will be able to craft a unique set of professions that changes the style investigations are handled. Information gathered in the codex will also give players the chance to discover relationships between the virtual worlds and their inhabitants.
