Publisher 110 Industries had one hell of a showing at this year's TGS. The company's most impressive-looking project, however, is Wanted: Dead. This new third-person action game blends melee combat and shooting.

The sci-fi game - coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2022 - is developed by a team of former Team Ninja staff, whose credits include Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive - and, as the trailer likes to point out, Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball.

Wanted: Dead takes place in a future Hong Kong where synthetics and people with synthetic replacements face discrimination, as the world shifts to more "orthodox" options, leaving synthetics to do menial jobs.

What a lovely day to have a curse.

Tomorrow marks the launch of accessible, colourful platforming adventure Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan, and we here at Nintendo Life have gotten our eyes on the lovely-looking launch trailer a bit earlier than expected. As you can see above, it showcases Rainbow Billy's world and his quest to best the titular leviathan and return colour to his surroundings.

Developer Manavoid Entertainment has crafted a platformer that mixes in puzzles, RPG elements and creature-collecting, and in a welcome break from the conflict and combat that are part and parcel of most games, it seems that Rainbow Billy is totally non-violent. Yep, apparently you resolve 'engagements' (as the PR blurb calls them) by building trust rather than opening various cans of whoop-ass. Novel!

Your SD card will be delighted.

Updated details on Nintendo's official website have revealed Metroid Dread's initial file size, and it's actually considerably smaller than was initially expected.

Immediately after the game's reveal during this year's E3, Nintendo's website listed Metroid Dread for pre-order, indicating that its eventual file size would be 6.9GB. Now, as spotted by Nintendo Everything, that figure has changed to just 4.1GB in the US – a decrease in size of around 40%. Incidentally, the file size is a slightly larger 4.2GB in Europe.

Nvidia RTX 3090 Super release date, plus new RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 2060 GPUs

Over the past few weeks, various RTX GPU leaks have sprung from Nvidia's pipeline, including plans for a supposed RTX 3090 Super. While separating fact and speculation is difficult, another insider has fortified the rumour mill with more graphics card claims.

According to hongzing2020, Nvidia's new RTX wave will launch in January 2022, and includes both the RTX 2060's 12GB revival and the RTX 3090 Super flagship refresh. The leaker also suggests the existence of a new RTX 3070 Ti, complete with 16GB of memory. Previous reports fail to mention an RTX 3070 Ti refresh, but if the gaming GPU is on the cards, it'll have more memory than the RTX 3080.

Hongzing2020's leak skips over previously rumoured SKUs, like the RTX 3080 Super, RTX 3070 Super, and RTX 3060 Super, which could suggest that the cards are no longer part of Nvidia's future lineup. However, the company could also have more video card variants planned for a later date, as producing a wide range of options could prove difficult due to ongoing semiconductor supply issues.

Elden Ring is reportedly in the final stages of development

With the Elden Ring release date set for very early next year, you'd imagine development on the dark fantasy action-RPG would be starting to draw to a close, ready for its January launch. The good news is this indeed seems to be the case, according to some news about the highly anticipated game that's emerged from this year's Tokyo Game Show.

Famitsu has reported on an appearance FromSoftware producer Yasuhiro Kitao - who heads up promotion, marketing, and production at the studio - made during a Famitsu x Dengeki stream this weekend (below), during which he shared a few details about the upcoming PC game. While the stream and article are both in Japanese, Redditor MysteriousBloke has shared a handy translation of Famitsu's rundown of the details which helps clarify some of the points beyond Google's page translation - the first of which is the reported confirmation that the game is nearing the end of its development journey.

"We're in the final stages of development, and we're moving forward quietly," Kitao explains, according to the translation (with Google's version very closely tallying with this). He also thanks fans waiting for the game and adds, "We will continue to develop the game to meet your expectations, so please look forward to it," according to the write-up. With Elden Ring due to launch in late January next year - so, only a few months from now - that's surely exciting news.

Intel's Alder Lake gaming CPUs cost almost as much as a gaming PC on Amazon

The die size of Intel's desktop processors may be shrinking from 14nm to 10nm, or Intel 7 if you want to get technical, but recent Amazon listings suggest that Alder Lake's smaller size comes with a much larger price tag. Twitter users Dellchannel21 and Momomo_us, have highlighted product listings of team blue's upcoming chips on Amazon UK, FR, and NL, complete with pricing. Currently, the Core i9-12900K is listed for a whopping £788.15 GBP and between €846,92-€919,88, putting it in direct competition with AMD's Ryzen 9 5950X.

It's important to stress that these prices are possibly placeholders and could change prior to Alder Lake's rumoured release date of November 7. There's no word on USD pricing but it's likely to be similar to GBP, meaning that we might see Amazon US listings at around $800 USD.

Other Alder Lake processors were also listed by Amazon, with the Core i7-12700K and Core i5-12600K respectively priced at £545.17 GBP / €636,08-€641,38 and £310.23 GBP / €321,16-€323,83.

Best gaming mouse deals as we approach Black Friday

We're slowly approaching that time of year again, where the prices of gaming gear are laid on the chopping block, the axe is lowered, and we're left with discounts spilling out into a basket below. The crowd cheers. Gruesome imagery aside, Black Friday might just be the perfect time of year to upgrade, but there are quite a few tempting gaming mouse deals primed and ready to go.

So, what separates a gaming mouse from your everyday office clicker? After all, you've already broken free from the confines of a trackpad, what more could you possibly need? For a start, they can give you the edge in FPS games with better sensors and adjustable DPI, extra buttons when playing the best MMOs, or cut the cord so you don't get your wires crossed without wireless input lag.

Most other times of year, these features come at a premium price, but Razer and Logitech aren't waiting for the day to roll around. We suspect we'll see Corsair, SteelSeries, Roccat, and HyperX join in on the fun by the time Black Friday lands on our doorstep, too, if you have your eye on a particular model.

New World Afk PenaltiesNew World is the latest game to take the MMO world by storm. Although it was previously delayed, Amazon Games finally released the highly anticipated title on September 28. Already, players have been exploring the game's vast world, completing quests, and doing whatever else y'all do in MMOs. However, a problem that was noticed almost instantly is how many AFK players are present in New World servers. Apart from encountering players who are automatically running into walls, going AFK also causes another frustrating issue. Players going AFK for extended periods of time does not help New World server queues. If you purchased the game at launch, you will know just how lengthy those server queues can be. While the developer is creating new servers to reduce long wait times, booting people who are not actually playing the game could help the situation.   You can go AFK in New World, but time is ticking The New World community manager, HardcoreHenry, published a blog post...

Fortnite Mechs Return LeakOne aspect of Fortnite Season 8 that has proven to be popular among fans is the introduction of donation boards. These allow you to use your gold bars to have a say in how the season will play out. Already, we have seen donation boards that fund mounted turrets. Also, players have voted to bring the Shockwave Launcher back from out of the vault. According to a new leak, mechs could feature on a future Fortnite donation board. Fortnite mechs made their debut on the island back in Chapter 1, Season X. At the time, they were considered extremely overpowered. Equipped with an automatic shotgun and automatic targeting missiles, you could easily shred through players and structures. Additionally, who could forget that you could jump up hills and mountains in the mechs.   Save your gold bars, it could be time to bring the mechs back to Fortnite The first Fortnite leaker to share information about mechs returning was ShiinaBR. On Twitter, the leaker shares the text file which could ind...

The Story:

Long ago, humans summoned Fae creatures to this world and bound them to their will. It was an age of power and magic. But when pacts were broken, that very power - the power of the Fae - turned upon humanity and brought chaos to the world.

Only the aid and protection of fifteen sympathetic Fae kept humans from being annihilated. These fifteen became known as the Protectors, and founded the human-Fae Alliance. But one notoriously powerful and malicious Fae - Apexsens - has a deep grudge against humans and has not given up his quest to exterminate them.

The safety of the Protectors cannot last forever - only through mastering their own magic do humans stand a chance. For nearly 300 years it has been Darestrand's task - and atonement - to teach humans the very magic that once dominated and enslaved her.

After mysteriously vanishing for seven years, Darestrand is now back to re-open Stardander, the best school for witches and the hope of all humanity. Few now know that she was once a great friend to Apexsens, and it was her who long ago broke the pacts and unleashed him upon the world. When the world's balance shifts again, where will her loyalties lie?

Features:

  • Accept witches to your school, helping them grow and learn spells.
  • Battle dangerous Fae in a unique turn based battle system.
  • Talk to and form pacts with enemy Fae to increase your witch's power.
  • Solve mysteries in a nine year story arc with a high-stakes conclusion.
  • Compete with your rival wizard's school, Kragons, for the highest school rank.
  • Decide how to manage all the shenanigans young witches are bound to get up to.

Follow Stardander on Steam, releasing in 2022. Sounds like a pretty fun mix of gameplay genres.

You can also try the free Halloween-themed Spinoff Stardander Revenant on itch.io that was made for a recent Game Jam.

Based upon the source code release of the classic multiplayer shooter Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, the ET: Legacy project continues maturing on modern platforms with ET: Legacy 2.78 out now. This is easily the best and suggested way to actually play Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory now, as ET: Legacy comes with a ton of improvements over the original while keeping the gameplay intact.

This release is part of their effort to speed up development and they said version 2.78 had a focus on "improving the competitive side of things" along with other general fixes.

On the gameplay side the on-screen blood effect has been redone. It's now more clear for players giving a directional damage indicator on the screen border to show where you're being hit from so it's less intrusive and takes up less screen space.

For the competitive side of things they adjusted the FOV range to 75 - 160, wounded players shouldn't get stuck in solid, many hitbox improvements, collision detection improvements and more.

Game engine improvements include a better OpenAL sound system, a removal of various frame-rate dependencies so you can crank it up to 250FPS resulting in smoother gameplay and more accurate hit registration, a server-side demo feature, a bunch of non-ASCII character crash bugs were fixes and a fix for airstrike/artillery plane and explosion behaviour .

You can download and play free from the ET: Legacy website. Seems you still want the 32bit build for best mod compatibility overall.
