Partway through Horizon Forbidden West, you encounter a monster. It's not an animal-shaped robot, like the bulk of enemies you fight. It's a bona fide creature of the shadows, and a rare moment of terror in a series that largely avoids jump scares and nightmare fuel. According to the game's narrative director, the…

Flexispot E7 review – a standing desk for both work and play

I've never been much of an office worker - I hate sitting for long periods of time staring at two screens that never seem to change. But over the years, I've become accustomed to this life, plonking myself down each and every morning and cracking on with my work. It wasn't until a pain started shooting down my lower back and into my legs though that I realised I needed a change. I began looking at desk chairs with added lumbar support to soothe my aches and pains - but in reality, I should have been looking for a new gaming desk.

Standing desks are expensive products and it's this fact alone that puts so many people off - myself included. I bought one of the best gaming chairs to compensate for my pain all those years ago, and while it certainly solved the problem in the short term, I ended up with buyer's remorse. As someone who's put their body through the ringer over the years chasing an egg-shaped ball around a field, I realised I actually needed a break from sitting all the time - and the Flexispot E7 standing desk is the perfect antidote.

For the last month and a half, I've been using Flexispot's Pro Series desk and I can honestly say that I wish I'd picked one up earlier. I no longer feel lethargic at the end of a working day, my posture has improved, and the pressure on my back has been eased.

Flight Simulator's Iberia update arrives in March

Microsoft Flight Simulator is due for another big world update. World Update 8: Iberia, which was announced back in January for the simulator game, will add the usual tender loving care to Spain, Portugal, and surrounding regions when it arrives March 22.

As with past world updates, the Iberia patch will add a host of new points of interest, as well as enhancing the region with updated satellite imagery and elevation data. Airports, cities, and landmarks usually get nice visual enhancements, and Asobo typically creates some new discovery flights, landing challenges, and bush trips for the world updates. Asobo Studio still hasn't provided a detailed breakdown of exactly what the update will include, however.

The Iberian Peninsula includes Spain and Portugal, as well as Andorra, Gibraltar, and a slice of southern France. All told, it's more than 583,000 square kilometres, and it's home to the cities of Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Valencia, and Seville. The update will add six cities, as well as the new two-metre resolution elevation maps that provide more realistic terrain.

What other games can learn from Elden Ring's open world

When Elden Ring's open world was revealed it did look a tiny bit formulaic. Bandit camps, crafting mechanics, tileset dungeons and catacombs, and light emergent gameplay in the form of moving caravans. Nothing new here, right? Now it's out, it's pretty clear that Elden Ring is something special. The kind of special that has us handing out perfect review scores (you can check out our Elden Ring review here) and endlessly poring over every tiny detail. Everyone is talking about it, almost uncontrollably. There are discussions on how to kill massive knights with names like Godrick, Godfrey, and Godwyn, ceaseless chatter about apocalyptic sorceries and impossibly large swords, and arguments about supposed reptiles that are definitely dogs.

This is, then, a fantastic opportunity to take stock. Open-world game development over the past decade has grown increasingly stale, dead-eyed, and predictable. There are crucial lessons that can be learned from Elden Ring's success.

If we could only convince other studios to internalise the spirit and intention of Elden Ring, the genre would be refreshed and revitalised. We wouldn't let out a heavy, involuntary sigh the next time someone on a conference stage proudly proclaims their game world is 8,000 thousand times bigger than Earth, and contains 900 missions. We'd trust again, like we once did, that open worlds are exciting places.

Minecraft ASMR is your new lo-fi beats to work to

Minecraft is already one of the most relaxing PC games out there for many people, but what if you throw some ASMR and clay sculpting into the mix? While there certainly are more chaotic ways to play the building game, it feels like it's been designed to gently massage your senses into a state of relaxed putty. The music is wonderfully calming, the rhythm of mining is fast enough to avoid frustration but slow enough not to feel hectic, and building your very own home is wonderfully gratifying.

It makes perfect sense, then, that Minecraft ASMR would exist. However, what we're showing you today isn't about the game, as such, but about the clay ASMR (ClaySMR) that a YouTuber called WUZU Clay has been putting out. These videos are so overwhelmingly relaxing that you'd have to actively go out of your way to stay stressed out while listening to them and watching them.

The YouTuber makes videos of themselves creating tiny sculptures from different materials that show their love for different game worlds. They've done eight videos on some Among Us builds, all of which are wonderfully whimsical, while also capturing some of the key moments from your average game.

The best Elden Ring armor sets

Are you searching for the best armor sets in Elden Ring? In this RPG game, upgrading your armaments using Elden Ring smithing stones and Ashes of War is just as important as leveling up your character. Elden Ring armor, however, tends to be overlooked by comparison - many players spend several hours wearing the same equipment. Unlike in real life, however, not changing your clothes for days at a time is somewhat understandable in Elden Ring, as impressive gear is difficult to come by - particularly in comparison to other methods of upgrading your build, like Elden Ring talismans.

The best Elden Ring armour is far from useless, however. There are some armour sets out there which come with powerful abilities, though their usefulness largely depends on what type of character you're building towards. If you've got a fashion-conscious Tarnished, Elden Ring makes it difficult to find armour that is both protective and stylish, but it certainly can be done if you know where to look.

There are three ways to earn armour sets in Elden Ring: repeatedly kill the same enemies until they drop their entire set, kill a specific enemy to earn all of their items, or find the equipment in a hidden chest. Here's everything you need to know about the best Elden Ring armour sets, including where to find them and what bonuses they provide.

Looks like Genshin Impact 2.6 has a Venti banner rerun

Genshin Impact's 2.6 update might be one to keep your eye on if you've been waiting for another Venti banner rerun. While Mihoyo released the Anemo-based support character way back in September 2020, he remains a favourite due to how good his kit is.

Twitter account Lumie shares that Venti's banner is reportedly returning to Genshin Impact during the first half of the upcoming 2.6 update. That would be the same time as the new character Ayato, though that doesn't mean the two will be part of the same banner. Venti is a five-star character, so it might be more likely that we'll get two separate wish events, which is becoming a more regular occurrence for the anime game these days. As always, keep in mind that Mihoyo hasn't confirmed any of this, so the leaked content could be subject to change.

Venti is a bard that excels in a support role due to his ability to recharge energy for his allies and suspend foes in mid-air with wind currents, leaving them open for an attack from another character in your party. He was initially introduced in September 2020, though he got a banner rerun in March 2021.

Nearly half of Elden Ring EU sales are the PC version

Almost half of all Elden Ring EU sales were of the PC version, according to the latest market reports. FromSoftware's latest isn't just one of the best new RPGs on PC, in Europe it's the biggest new gaming IP since Ubisoft's The Division in 2016 - and the PC version is easily the most popular.

It was just revealed only last week that Elden Ring's US sales positioned it as the second-biggest launch of the last twelve months for the open-world game, just after Call of Duty: Vanguard - and that had 25 days' worth of sales in its release month to go by, as opposed to Elden Ring's three.

As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, Elden Ring's European sales are equally great. Similar to the US, it's the biggest game launch since Call of Duty: Vanguard, and it's the most impressive launch for a new gaming IP since the first Tom Clancy's The Division back in 2016 - which was one of the best-selling games of the year if you remember.

The first Intel Arc Alchemist GPUs will be shown this month

It seems that Intel is finally ready to share more details on its Arc Alchemist GPUs, announcing a suitably (if perhaps a touching unimaginatively) named 'Intel Arc Event' scheduled to take place on March 30, 8AM PT. Unfortunately, the company won't be talking about its desktop graphics cards during the showcase, and will instead focus on its DG2-based discrete graphics for gaming laptops.

In an Intel community blog, the company's graphics software engineering director Lisa Pearce shed light on the reason behind releasing laptop graphics cards before desktop models. "By beginning to launch our mobile products first, we aim to bring all our technologies (CPU, graphics, media, display, I/O, etc.) to bear to deliver great experiences," Pearce says.

Pearce also shares that the Intel Arc A370M will be the first GPU from the company to make it to market. In terms of benchmarks, Pearce claims the graphics card can offer "up to a 2X improvement in graphics performance vs. integrated graphics alone while maintaining similar form factors."

The Lost Ark Tytalos Raid should be fixed now

March 15, 2022: The hotfix to sort out the Lost Ark Tytalos Guardian Raid issue has now arrived.

Are you having trouble with the Lost Ark Tytalos Raid? While the MMO game's had a few updates to nerf the various Guardian raids around Arkesia, Smilegate and Amazon have warned players to stay away from the Tytalos Raid until they can provide a fix - which has just dropped.

Amazon's latest online fantasy game has many tough encounters scattered around the world, but it's Lost Ark's Guardian Raids that offer the biggest challenge for parties of players - and the highest rewards. They're specifically built around a single boss, and Tytalos, while by no means the toughest in Lost Ark, is still a force to be reckoned with.

Recently, however, Tytalos was way more difficult than he's meant to be and not by design. Amazon reported that it is "aware of an issue" that made Tytalos way more of a challenge to beat in the time provided, at least for the power levels required to actually tackle him - which meant that players couldn't get any further.

WoW patch makes Sepulcher of the First Ones raid easier

World of Warcraft has a new patch that makes the new Sepulcher of the First Ones raid easier to manage. Alongside some bug fixes, Blizzard Entertainment has nerfed some of the boss encounters, too.

Halondrus the Reclaimer sees the most changes in the update. The mech's health has been reduced by 10% on the Mythic difficulty, while Planetcracker Beams and Seismic Tremors will now appear in more consistent locations. Skolex should be a smoother fight, too, as Blizzard has fixed a targeting issue on the Heroic and Mythic difficulties that was overly punishing towards pets. The Rend tooltip now displays the correct information, which certainly helps.

Elsewhere, you've got fixes for the Lords of Dread, Rygelon, and Vigilant Guardian encounters. The release location after the Jailer encounter has also been moved closer to the boss. Finally, Anduin Wrynn's Grim Reflections spell is now immune to the effects of Wicked Star for five seconds, while Befouled Barrier is no longer an issue for pets or guardians.

Elden Ring respec – changing stats, Sellen quest, and more

So you're searching for Elden Ring respec? One of the great things about the highly popular fantasy game is that it doesn't lock you to your chosen Elden Ring build. It may take a while before you can do it, but changing your stats to try out something new is perfectly possible, provided you have some Larval Tears.

So if you want to know about how Elden Ring respec works, then keep reading - we've got all the information you need. First off, you'll require a particular Elden Ring Great Rune - the Great Rune of the Unborn. Unlike other Great Runes, this one doesn't need a Divine Tower to unlock its power, and you don't need to equip it.You get this particular rune from defeating Rennela, Queen of the Full Moon.

After you've defeated her, Rennela will be available in Reya Lucaria Grand Library where you can give her a Larval Tear to access the 'Rebirth' function. There are only a finite number of Larval Tears in the game - use TheLoadout's Larval Tear locations guide to help you find all of them.

Apex Legends' Kings Canyon is shut due to crashing issues

There's an Apex Legends Kings Canyon crash problem going on right now, and it's proving to be such an issue that developer Respawn is "temporarily disabling" the FPS game's original map - with no confirmation as yet on when it will return.

Apex Legends may be one of the best battle royale games on PC, but recently players have reported some major crashing issues with the game's main map Kings Canyon. It's not a small problem, either - it boots players from the map and the entire server seems to go down, with the message "server shutting down - internal server error".

While Respawn hasn't said what is causing the crashing issue, players have surmised that it seems to be connected to the Caustic Treatment area in the southern part of Kings Canyon. For whatever reason, sometimes when a player opens the special Gold Loot in the plant, it seems to overload the server and crash the game. Respawn added this area and reward to Apex Legends a year ago, so it's unclear why it's suddenly happening now.

DirectStorage is here to speed up PC games on Windows

It's been so long since Microsoft last talked about its plans to bring DirectStorage to Windows 10 and Windows 11 that you'd be forgiven for forgetting about it. However, the company has surprised everyone this week by suddenly launching the API, which promises to speed up load times in all PC games that ship with it.

Microsoft heralds the release of the DirectStorage public SDK as a "new era of fast load times and detailed worlds in PC games by allowing developer to more full utilise the speed of the latest storage devices." However, we don't yet know what the first videogame will be to support the API, nor how easy it is for developers to retroactively implement it into their existing titles.

DirectStorage will be supported on Windows 10 and 11 operating systems, and Microsoft says that you "may see benefits on any kind of storage device" when using it. That said, the company explicitly recommends that you upgrade your gaming PC to Windows 11 and pairing it with one of the best SSDs for gaming featuring NVMe technology, in order to get the most out of the API.

Genshin Impact 2.6 release date, livestream, Chasm, and banners

Looking for the Genshin Impact 2.6 update release date? There are plenty of 2.6 rumours out there, but developer Mihoyo has already confirmed one new addition due to arrive in its open-world game with the next update: The Chasm, a mysterious disused mine far beneath Liyue.

As ever, information on the next Genshin Impact update has been shared via beta testers and dataminers over the 2.6 beta period. There's reportedly a lot more in store, including a new Inazuman festival called the Irodori Festival. However, it's worth remembering that all information shared by unofficial sources is unconfirmed and subject to change when the 2.6 release date arrives.

There's also another new Genshin Impact character arriving in 2.6 to look forward to - and it's none other than Kamisato Ayaka's older brother, Ayato, a blue-haired Hydro sword user. There's a fair bit of info on his playstyle out there already, acquired from beta information, so if you've got your primogems ready for his Genshin Impact banner, it's worth taking a look at the rumoured Ayato ascension materials so you're prepared to unlock his full potential.      How to find a village in Minecraft and all villager jobs

Looking for a Minecraft village? Or just want to wrap your head around how these cute little towns work? Villages in Minecraft are a great resource for stocking up on items before you explore or brew potions in Minecraft, whether that be trading with Minecraft villagers or unlocking chests tucked away in houses.

A Minecraft village will spawn villagers depending on the amount of beds in the village, and include farmers, fishermen, fletchers, butchers, clerics, armorers, and more. A Minecraft village features buildings, houses, and a well that's known as the village center. The type of village is determined by the biome at the village center or meeting point, where most villagers can be found. Villages spawn naturally and the amount of buildings and village features are randomly generated, including the villagers available to trade with and the location of the village itself. This can make finding a village tricky, but worth the reward.

Our Minecraft village guide covers how to find a village in Minecraft, how to avoid a zombie siege, and the best places to discover Minecraft village loot.

What is the current and next Genshin Impact banner?

Genshin Impact banners adhere to a pretty regular schedule. Each update arrives with a new banner that lasts around three weeks, and after it expires, it's followed by a second banner which also lasts roughly three weeks, at which point it's update time once again.

Wondering what the next Genshin Impact banner is? Even though we hear rumours of new Genshin Impact characters arriving in forthcoming updates, we won't know their exact release date until we know which banner they will be a part of, and whether it'll be the first or second banner in the update. Occasionally, banners don't stick to this schedule - most notably, update 1.3 had three two-week banners, so that Hu Tao's banner didn't cross over with the Chinese New Year.

Typically, each limited character banner - or Event Wish - contains a five-star character, and three four-star characters. There's also a Weapon banner - Epitome Invocation - which runs alongside each character banner, and features different weapons each time. Here's everything you need to know about the current and upcoming Genshin Impact banners.

League of Legends patch 12.6 notes – Anima Squad skins, new Rune

The League of Legends updates are coming thick and fast. LoL patch 12.5 has hit the live server, introducing a wonderful selection of bee-inspired skins to the MOBA. Don't bee-lieve for one second, though, that's all we got. Riot has tweaked Master Yi and Seraphine with some solid changes, while several other LoL champs got some quality-of-life adjustments, too.

Now, though, it's time to look toward LoL patch 12.6. We're sticking with the animal theme this time around as the new Anima Squad skins have hit the PBE. If you've been out of the loop, a few champions - such as Vayne, Miss Fortune, and Jinx - are getting some punky skins themed around bats, bunnies, cats, and more. You can check out the in-game clips of these in action and their splash art in the skins section below.

We're still quite early into the patch cycle, but we're starting to see some champion changes. Keep checking in, though, as we'll keep this post regularly updated.

If you're unfamiliar with Redout, it's an anti-gravity racer inspired by the likes of F-Zero and Wipeout. And if you've not played any of those before, then imagine a pod-racer from Star Wars belting it down Mario Kart's Rainbow Road - except, hang on, there's a mysterious white powder caked on the bristles of Mario's mustache. The sheer speed of the first game made it pretty popular among race-heads, but a bit of a daunting prospect for those used to a traditional "wheels on the ground" racing experience.

Redout 2 doubles down on the speed element, that's for sure. But there's definitely an added air of approachability to this anti-grav racer, making the transition from Geforce to g-force a little less bruising than before. AI presets, added customisation, and more generous modes help make this a racing game you should keep up with.

You may not have heard much about developer Complex Games, but the Canadian studio has a surprisingly storied history. Despite spending the last two decades building mobile and browser games for the likes of Disney, Nickelodeon and Zynga, their heart has always resided with the PC. "There wasn't a lot of game development in Winnipeg, so we tried to figure it out ourselves and spent a few years trying to build a PC game," says creative director Noah Decter-Jackson. Fresh out of college, Complex's first project was a third-person hand-to-hand action prototype that they pitched to publishers at E3 2003, an endeavour that Decter-Jackson describes as "phenomenally unsuccessful".

This led to Complex remodelling as a work-for-hire outfit, and their long track-record making mobile games. But in 2015, Complex launched The Horus Heresy: Drop Assault, a fast-paced tactics game in conjunction with Games Workshop. In the wake of Drop Assault's success, the studio saw an opportunity. "We had been wanting for a long time to return to our PC roots," he says. "So we pitched a core idea for a game to Games Workshop, because Drop Assault had been quite successful... and that's essentially how Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters came to be."

First unveiled last week, Ship Of Fools is an upcoming seafaring roguelite where you and a fellow co-op pal take on hordes of horrible beasties as you sail the high seas. Depending on your choice of player two, it's also likely to be an apt description of how you'll feel playing it.

Having waded through an early preview build of its opening Forgotten Waters stage this week, this is one co-operative cannon fest that seems destined to see friends and family not so much walk the plank after an untimely defeat as get absolutely spanked by it. I'm not very good at it, to be honest, so recently knocked it down to easy difficulty in order to stomp on robot heads with greater efficiency. Good ol' Aloy.

Anyway, now that I have awakened a sort of mother-surrogate AI and started the actual business of saving the world, I cannot help but ask the key question: why can I still not ride into battle atop a massive great robot T-Rex?

Square Enix Shares Insight into FFXIV Male Viera Names

Back in 2019, Square Enix shared the female Viera naming conventions to help people get into Final Fantasy XIV's lore. Now, that's been updated. The company offered details about male Rava and Veena Viera names, so people interested in FFXIV could learn more about its world. Essentially, Veena surnames will always end in "-wesfv," while Rava ones will begin with "Djt-" or "Rehw-."

With the Rava male Viera names, the idea is to tie into FFXIV realms. "Djt-" corresponds to heavenly in surnames, while "Rehw-" is tied to worldly. The idea is to show people's affinity with a world and an element. The lore also mentioned, "…The Rava consider it necessary that all twelve different surnames be present among the Wood-warders' ranks at any given time to ensure the forest's safety." Some examples of names given were "Djt-Marouc ("Star" – heavenly water)" and "Rehw-Marouc ("Spring" – worldly water)."

As for the Veena male Viera in FFXIV, names will have "guardian" as a suffix. That's to reference their role in the community in their surnames. The names will also have ice and snow-related terms in them. Two of the exact examples Square Enix provided were Monnawesfv ("Prism") and Rawbewesfv ("Bone" – referring to hollow crystals).

The announcement also discussed forenames. It mentioned that there isn't really a need for traditional masculine and feminine names. Names can be gender neutral, due to not knowing a Viera's gender at birth. They also note that all Viera, regardless of gender, have a habit of changing their names once they grow up and that they will have forest and city names.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. Male Viera appeared when the Endwalker expansion released.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Release Date Set

We now have a Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak release date. Back when Capcom announced the expansion, it noted it would appear in Summer 2022. Now, that's been pinned down a bit more. People will be able to grab the expansion and take part in its extra quests on June 30, 2022.

This news came up during the March 15, 2022 broadcast on Twitch. While the focus was on the new monsters joining Malzeno and Lunagaron, others were revealed as well. We got to see how Bishaten and Astalos will look in the new title.

The presentation also went over new details about the game. For example, we learned more about the region we'll visit and the characters we'll meet there. As a reminder, this will add a Master Rank and new Wirebug attacks. The Citadel will be the new region people will inhabit and explore, each with its own new biomes. Some of the ruinous areas there hint at civilizations that came before. However, since monsters make their home there, people aren't able to easily explore it.

Monster Hunter Rise is available for the Nintendo Switch and PC. The Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak expansion release date is June 30, 2022.

Arceus and Darkrai Come to Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl

The legendary Pokemon Arceus and Darkrai are now available to acquire in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. However, there are different ways to get each one. One involves downloading the latest patch and owning Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The other is a more traditional Mystery Gift item available to download between new moons.

If you want to get Arceus in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you need Pokemon Legends: Arceus. You also have to have beaten that game and the one you're playing. So first, you need to download the 1.3.0 patch for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Then, you need to make sure you own and beat the campaign in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. After that, when you open Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl again, you need to get a National Dex and defeat the Elite Four. If you do, you can head to your room for an Azure Flute to use at Mount Coronet's Spear Pillar.

Compared to that, Darkrai is much simpler to acquire in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. If the time of year is between new moons, you open up Mystery Gift. This nets you a Member Card key item. Then, if you beat the Elite Four and have a National Dex, you can go to Newmoon Island, you can encounter and try to catch Darkrai.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are available for the Nintendo Switch, and the March 15, 2022 update lets people get Arceus in-game. Shaymin is also available in-game.

Indie Games Connect 2022 free Konami convention in Ginza, Tokyo, Japan in June, registration open for developers

Konami will hold an indie games convention in Japan this summer. Indie Games Connect 2022 will occur on June 26, 2022 at the Konami Creative Center in Ginza, Tokyo. The convention will be free for both exhibitors and players to attend. The goal is to enable indie developers to network and promote their games to as many people as possible. Registration is open for game developers that would like to attend the event. Details for how the public can attend will arrive later. [Thanks, VGC.]

Indie Games Connect 2022 will be free in order to make it easier for game developers to, well, connect. Per VGC, Konami even intends to host consultation sessions at the convention to answer any questions indie game developers might have. One seminar will be hosted by PlayStation's Shuhei Yoshida, who is the head of the SIE Independent Developer Initiative and former SIE Worldwide Studios president. He will discuss the "future of indie games and creators." Notably, Konami listed PlayStation as the largest sponsor of Indie Games Connect 2022 on its event page.

Konami recently released GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon on Nintendo Switch. It is a revival of a classic Konami IP, yet it was developed by an indie team. Along those same lines, Konami held a contest last year challenging indie game developers to make something new with the company's IP. This is all part of a renewed effort from Konami to foster indie game development and publishing. However, there are reports that the company has plans for major IP like Silent HillMetal Gear Solid, and Castlevania as well.

Indie Games Connect 2022 will take place on June 26, 2022 in Ginza, Tokyo, and indie game developers have until April 22, 2022 to register for the event.

Elden Ring Is the Biggest New IP Launch in Europe Since 2016 sales

According to a report from GamesIndustry.biz, Elden Ring is the biggest new IP launch in Europe since the release of The Division in 2016. Additionally, Elden Ring is the biggest game launch in Europe since Call of Duty: Vanguard arrived in November 2021. GamesIndustry.biz broke down sales of the title between individual platforms. PC accounted for 44% of sales, whereas PlayStation 5 accounted for 27%. Xbox sales accounted for 16% and PlayStation 4 for 13%. [Thanks, GamesIndustry.biz!]

In early March 2021, Famitsu reported PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 sales of Elden Ring had surpassed 278,000 units. The title secured both the first and second spot for most sales within the week of February 21-27, 2022. However, this number only accounted for PS4 and PS5 versions of the game within Japan.

Since its release, Bandai Namco has rolled out numerous bug fixes and updates to Elden Ring. These updates have included balance changes, performance-related issues, and fixing bugged NPC events. Additionally, its 1.02.2 update included an adjustment to the PlayStation 5 version of the game that would now save progression even when the game is not terminated. This was implemented due to several crash-related issues on the PS5.

Elden Ring is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. You can read our review of the PC version, which includes PlayStation 5 impressions.

AI Somnium Files nirvanA Initiative Gameplay

New gameplay details for AI: The Somnium Files - nirvanA Initiative have appeared. Spike Chunsoft gave fans a first glimpse at some new and returning gameplay mechanics featured in the upcoming game. Notably, the previous title's Somnium mechanic will make a return with new aerial and underwater traversal features.

As in the first game, nirvanA Initiative will consist of two main parts: an investigation conducted in the real world, and the "Somnium," where players use a Psync machine to dive into the dreams of key witnesses and suspects. Players must traverse both of these worlds to gather clues and ultimately solve the case of the Half Body serial killings.

Both the investigation and Somnium parts will feature new mechanics. In addition to the returning mechanics such as X-ray and thermal vision, the real-world investigation part will feature three new capabilities. The Virtual Reality feature will allow players to find clues using special visual functions. On the other hand, the Truth Reconstruction feature will replay a scene as if it were a television drama, with your AI companion playing the director. Finally, the Wink Psync feature is a simplified version of the Psync mechanic that will let players read characters' minds.
