I was immediately smitten with Anno: Mutationem's sleek, side-scrolling pixel art and bombastic, beat 'em up-inspired action sequences. However, even these notable highlights pale in comparison to its wonderful portrayal of Ayane, one of the game's side characters, who ascends from mere NPC into being the emotional…

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands revitalizes Borderlands, thanks to a fantasy-inspired respray and an increased focus on melee attacks.      This city builder lets you terraform Mars

Interstellar city builder Terraformers could be the next chill Steam game to look out for if you want to unwind. Developer Asteroid Lab has revealed that the space game is coming to Steam Early Access on April 21.

Terraformers puts you at the head of an expedition party looking to explore Mars, develop cities, and terraform the planet into Earth's next big hope. In a post on Valve's storefront, Asteroid Lab explains that Early Access appeals to the team as "all the major components of the game are in place", though there's plenty of content yet to come. And, after all, what's better than fan feedback as you're working your way through that part of development?

"This will be a gradual process and will still take some months," the team says. "But the core game is already playable and we feel there is no reason to keep the game away while we are adding more to it. In addition, the feedback we received on the demo and then on the prologue has been invaluable in improving the game, balancing it, and polishing it. We have some ideas for a few more features and content, but we think it would be cool to involve you all in the process."

PSA: Fortnite building is expected to return tomorrow

Fortnite building is coming back very soon - probably. Ahead of the launch of Chapter 3 Season 2, dataminers and leakers uncovered files suggesting that building would be temporarily removed from Fortnite. Which, of course, it was. According to that initial datamine from iFireMonkey, the building blackout would last for nine days, and those nine days are up as of tomorrow.

With that in mind, everyone expects Fortnite building to be coming back on Tuesday, March 29. This date has not been confirmed by Epic, and is certainly subject to change. However, Fortnite is one of the leakiest games on the market, and once dataminers have reported on a given feature or event, it generally hits the game on that schedule.

If you're enjoying no-build Fortnite, however, there's good news: further datamines have suggested that separate no-build modes will be available after building returns to the main game. HypeX reports on Twitter that internal game files now make reference to "modes with building enabled", strongly suggesting that you'll have options going forward.

Genshin Impact outfits – available skins and what's coming next

After months of the community asking for character outfits, Genshin Impact gives players the chance to change their character's outfits using the skins system. This system was introduced in the Genshin Impact 1.6 update, which also welcomed the Anemo Sword user Kazuha to the game. Ayaka, the Cyro Sword user, arrived in the second banner in Genshin Impact 1.6.

One of the big questions surrounding the skin system was how skins were planned to be distributed. As Genshin Impact locks characters behind gacha mechanics, players were worried that skins may be sold using the same system. There are two methods to unlock events: purchase the skin for 1680 Genesis Crystals, or complete a specific event. If you happen to miss the event, the skin will make its way to the Character Outfit Shop in the future.

Genshin Impact 2.6 introduces four new skins for Jean, Rosaria, Amber, and Mona. These skins are largely the same as their original outfits, and they don't cost any Genesis Crystals. Here are all of the Genshin Impact outfits so far.

Evil Dead: The Game system requirements

Developer Saber Interactive has released some of the Evil Dead: The Game system requirements well ahead of the game's release date, giving us plenty of time to prepare our gaming PCs for the groovy times ahead.

Evil Dead: The Game will support Nvidia DLSS upscaling technology, offering an easy to way to boost fps, which should also boost your chances of survival against the Deadites or would-be heroes of the game by keeping input lag to a minimum. Unfortunately, there's no word on whether it will also support AMD FSR or Intel XeSS, so you'll need an Nvidia GeForce RTX card to make use of this particular feature.

We don't yet know what the minimum specs for Evil Dead: The Game are, save for 8GB of gaming RAM. However, since the developer recommends an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti or AMD RX 5600 XT GPU, we can safely assume you shouldn't need the best graphics card to run the game. This same logic can be applied on the CPU front too, with the recommended specs requesting the modestly powerful Intel Core i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X processors.

Halo Infinite Season 2 details coming

Expect more Halo Infinite Season 2 details "really soon" according to the FPS game's lead, who also says that he is "super excited about the next year and beyond" - but also notes that it is "challenging" to be open with the fans.

The Halo Infinite Season 2 release date has previously been confirmed for the beginning of May, which will be titled Lone Wolves - presumably in reference to the bleak but iconic final mission of Halo Reach - and will include new skins, maps, modes, and even story-based narrative content with cinematics.

However, other than a few pieces of concept art, 343 Industries hasn't given fans any sort of a look at what they can expect for the multiplayer game's second season. In a new interview at the Washington Post (via streamer Mint Blitz), head of creative Joseph Staten confirms that "really soon, fans are going to be exposed to some of the cool stuff we have going on for Season 2" - although he admits it hasn't been entirely smooth sailing thus far.

FFXIV data center travel detailed, but still no cross-region

FFXIV is getting data center travel as of patch 6.18. The developers have again confirmed this as part of a new explainer breaking down the implementation of the feature - however, as previously announced, there will be no cross-region travel in this initial launch, and it's still up in the air whether cross-region play will be implemented at all.

FFXIV is divided into two types of data centers, as explained in the new blog post. There are four physical data centers, each divided by region: Japan, North America, Europe, and Oceania. Within those physical data centers are logical data centers - in North America, for example, those are Aether, Primal, and Crystal. In Europe, they're Chaos and Light. Each of those logical data centers are then divided into 'worlds', or 'servers' in the more common MMO parlance.

Data center travel will only allow you travel between logical data centers, not physical ones - meaning that you cannot travel between regions in the 6.18 implementation. As director Naoki Yoshida said in a blog post earlier this year, this is "due in part to differences in game economy and values. We'll be paying keen attention to the opinions of players as we consider whether or not to introduce cross-region travel in the future."

Steam Deck TV: how to connect with a dock or HDMI

Wondering how to connect your Steam Deck to a TV or gaming monitor? Valve's versatile handheld actually doubles as a big-screen experience. Sure, the dinky Steam machine isn't on par with a rig rocking the best graphics card, but it's more than capable of bringing an entry-level experience to your living room. You can also connect external controllers to the Deck, meaning it could replace your current big-screen console of choice.

Valve's official docking station hasn't arrived yet, but you can still hook up the Steam Deck to a TV. There's an abundance of third-party docks already available online, but thanks to the boons of USB-C, you can also connect straight to your screen using an adapter and HDMI. Just keep in mind that you won't be able to charge the Deck or use other USB devices if you opt to use a single cord, as Valve's handheld uses one port for connectivity and power.

Creating a Steam Deck TV setup is relatively straightforward, and you don't necessarily need a high-end screen by the likes of Samsung, LG, or Hisense.

Death Stranding Director's Cut system requirements

If you can't get enough of Sam Bridges' delivery antics, you'll be pleased to know that the Death Stranding Director's Cut system requirements remain unchanged from the base game. Meaning older gaming PCs should be able to run this expanded edition of Hideo Kojima's action-adventure game, which comes with lots of new PC-exclusive features and additional content.

Death Stranding Director's Cut will natively support ultrawide resolutions found on the best gaming monitors, letting the bleak but beautiful vistas of the game truly shine. It's also packing a new photo mode, 'Racetrack' and 'Firing Range' game modes, in addition to more stroyline missions.

Exciting as these new features and game modes are, don't forget that Death Stranding Director's Cut will come with all the PC-exclusive enhancements found in the base game. This includes Nvidia DLSS upscaling technology, which should help boost fps in systems equipped with Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards. That said, the game should support Intel XeSS in the near-future too.

A One Piece JRPG game is in the works at Bandai Namco, and don't fret - there's a One Piece Odyssey PC release via Steam on the cards, too. The anime game is due out this year and it features "new character and monster designs" by One Piece's creator, alongside music from the composer of Dark Souls.

It's due out later in 2022 and yes, it'll get a PC release on Steam alongside the console versions.

As Bandai Namco's website describes it, One Piece Odyssey has been "in the works for many years" and will involve the Straw Hats being stranded on "a mysterious island... filled with wonders of a raging nature, powerful enemies, and strange encounters with island locals." Playable characters include Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Frankie, and Brook.

Minecraft infinite water is only one block away with this tip

Figuring out how to make Minecraft infinite water as early as possible is a great way to make farming easier. It means you can easily create obsidian when you find lava, make rivers to travel down, and even construct elevators. You can also use water to help automate farming, so there's really no shortage of uses for water in the chill building game.

One redditor has gifted us all with an effortless way to solve our water needs thanks to a unique interaction between bonemeal and water blocks. They simply dig a little hole, place the water above it, and then use bonemeal to create kelp. Doing this turns all of the flowing water blocks into normal water blocks. All you have to do then is use your bucket to collect the new water blocks, and you're golden.

You can do whatever you want with it at this point too, because you've essentially created water from nothing, which means there are no risks in messing about with it as you see fit.

Mythic WoW raid race cost one team over $93k, so far

The World of Warcraft Sepulcher of First Ones mythic run has concluded with a win for esports outfit Echo, but the WoW raid race cost for rival Team Liquid is high - around $93,000 USD at an early estimate, and the team isn't even finished yet.

The big race to finish the MMO game's Sepulcher of First Ones raid on mythic difficulty finally ended after a staggering 18 days. While Echo triumphed, fellow competitor Team Liquid was forced to pause its progress due to the players being "burnt to a crisp" - figuratively, we assume.

While Team Liquid's win went away, the cost of competing in such a gruelling race didn't. According to Veyloris on Twitter (via Icy Veins), the team spent roughly 723 million gold during the race. That's around 4,600 WoW tokens, which equates to $93,000 USD. Liquid is now in debt to the tune of 535 million gold, and it still hasn't completed the Sepulcher of First Ones raid on mythic just yet - so the number will be even higher when the team is done.

Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu and Yelan confirmed

Mihoyo has revealed that Genshin Impact's Kuki Shinobu and Yelan are coming to the anime game. The developer hasn't revealed when you'll get to wish on their banners, though recent history points to Genshin Impact's 2.7 update. Thankfully, there are some new titbits of character information to tide you over until then.

Kuki Shinobu is the deputy leader of the Arataki Gang, which may sound familiar if you remember leader Itto, who joined the free game last year. Mihoyo confirms that she's an electro character, though we can't distinguish what weapon she uses. Mihoyo also refers to Shinobu as the 'mender of tribulations', an amusing nod to some in-game messages that reveal how much time she spends running around after Itto. Spoiler: it's a lot.

Yelan, however, is more mysterious. While several teases point to Shinobu's existence, we've seen far fewer for Yelan. Mihoyo confirms that she works for the Ministry of Civil Affairs, though we know little else. "Yelan's identity has always been a mystery," Mihoyo says. "Like a phantom, she often appears in various guises at the centre of events and disappears before the storm stops." So, as we say, mysterious.

Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu banner release date

Looking for the Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu banner release date? Following the discovery of a reference to Kuki Shinobi in Genshin Impact's game files, players are eagerly waiting for more information on this possible new Genshin Impact character.

Kuki Shinobu's banner release date isn't known yet, but there are few things we can say for certain now that she's been officially announced via the Genshin Impact twitter account. We know she's an electro character, for example, and the current rumours suggest she will be a new four-star character coming in a future Genshin Impact banner.

Kuki Shinobu - previously known as Kuki Ninja - is mentioned in-game in a couple of voice lines from Sayu and Arataki Itto. She's the deputy of the Arataki gang, and was first introduced in Itto's official announcement tweet - in which she implores us to contact her if we discover "any inappropriate behaviour on the part of our boss, Arataki Itto." Beyond that, there isn't much information yet - but we'll update this guide as soon as we know more. Here's everything we know about Kuki Shinobu in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact Yelan banner release date

Want to know about the Yelan banner release date in Genshin Impact? Yelan has appeared in the game files since the 2.0 update, but not much else has been revealed about this new Genshin Impact character until recently. Her datamined profile has her listed under the 'tall woman' model, and other rumours point to her being an hydro bow user.

While the Yelan banner release date isn't known, some of the rumours have been cleared up at least. A post on the official Genshin Impact Twitter account formally revealed the character towards the end of March 2022, just before the Genshin Impact 2.6 release date.

We got a character art poster and some minor details, including the fact that she's a hydro disciple. The only thing not confirmed yet is what kind of weapon she uses, but a bow is still the leading rumour right now thanks to a leak from Lumie earlier this year. Here's everything we know about Yelan in Genshin Impact so far, including her abilities and her banner release date.

Interview: Preparing Echoes of Mana and Its Characters

It is a very good time to be a Mana series fan. In addition to new games appearing worldwide, older entries are getting remakes and remasters. In some cases, we're even seeing them for the first time. The next big project? The Echoes of Mana mobile game that includes original and returning characters. To better understand how it works and what people can expect, Siliconera spoke with Producer Akira Haruta about the project.

Jenni Lada: How long has Echoes of Mana been in development, and how did the COVID-19 pandemic influence its progress?

Akira Haruta: Echoes of Mana has been in development for about 3 years. While maintaining communication was difficult at times due to the pandemic, it did not affect our development progress.

Which Mana games most influenced Echoes of Mana's characters, combat, and stories?

Haruta: This is a title with an all-star character roster, so the characters and story are influenced by all of the games. For combat, we did reference Secret of Mana, Trials of Mana, and Legend of Mana, all of which have 2D action just like this game.

How did you decide which Mana characters should show up in Echoes of Mana at launch?

Haruta: As mentioned earlier, since this is a game with an all-star character roster, we tried to feature characters from many different games across the series. You'll also be able to use enemy characters from past titles as playable characters, such as the Dark Lord. You'll see that we've made great effort to offer a well-balanced selection of characters that includes enemies as well.

However, there are also many characters we still want to include but haven't been able to yet, so we plan to keep adding them through future updates.

Echoes of Mana is a title that will have both original content and returning worlds, monsters, and characters. How did you create it in a way that ensure what is new fits in with what is old? Did you encounter any challenges while doing so?

Haruta: Regardless of whether they were original characters or returning characters, we were always conscious of each character's personality and characteristics. For example, if rough-around-the-edges Duran and kind-hearted Randi were to meet, would they become friends? Or would they fight? We thought about how things would unfold based on their individual characteristics.

What will the gacha rates look like for Echoes of Mana and how will you keep the free and paid elements balanced?

Haruta: While we won't be announcing specific drop rates until release, what we can say is that you can obtain characters as well as equipment called "Memory Gems" through the gacha summons, and you can also obtain some of the characters and Memory Gems as rewards for progressing through the story, or through in-game events. So, I think you'll find that you can enjoy the game without having to make in-
game purchases.

Of course, we'll also be distributing Spirit Crystals, which you can use for summons, as rewards, through login bonuses, and more.

What kinds of events do you have in mind for Echoes of Mana?

Haruta: Events that allow you to obtain lots of rewards to help you power up your characters, and more.

How do you think Echoes of Mana and its development could influence future Mana games?

Haruta: I would love for it to become a place for Mana fans to gather. Whether they're someone who has played Mana games in the past and tries out Echoes of Mana, or they're someone completely new to the series and plays the previous Mana games afterwards, ultimately, I hope Echoes of Mana will become a place where both new and old fans can enjoy the game together.

Since this is a game with an all-star character roster, and it's a mobile game that can easily be picked up and played at any time, I sincerely hope that it can becomes a special place for Mana fans to come together.

Echoes of Mana will come to Android and Apple iOS devices. Pre-registration is now open.

Take a Closer Look at Ash Crimson's KOF XV Clothes and Nails

Since KOF XV launched, SNK's shared concept art for characters. In many cases, the detail covers elements of their costumes that aren't clearly visible in-game. The latest one takes a closer look at Ash Crimson's apparel and details in KOF XV. It even shows exactly how his nail polish is done for his manicure.

Here's the exact design document. Since we only see him with his coat on in-game, it shows that he is wearing a plain black shirt underneath. His jacket's insignia is more clearly defined. There's also a belt comparison.

In the upper left, it shows the exact designs on each of Ash Crimson's fingernails. It starts with the thumb on the left, then looks at the index finger, middle finger, and ring finger. It ends with a look at his pinky nail design on the far right.

The King of Fighters XV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Past pieces of concept art looked at characters like Isla and Athena.
