First discrete Intel GPU falls flat against Nvidia GTX 1650

The first discrete Intel GPU has arrived on the scene, but early tests suggest it falls flat against Nvidia's GeForce GTX 1650. The YouTube channel Benchmark Lab recently tested the Intel Arc Alchemist A370M chip across ten games, and it failed to keep up with the green team's 2019 mobile offering.

According to Benchmark Lab's data, the new Intel GPU pumps out significantly less frames than the GTX 1650. Comparatively, there's a performance gap of around 15-20% in games like The Witcher 3, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and Red Dead Redemption 2 . Of course, failing to boost fps is only part of the problem, as release notes for the mobile chip warn of glitching and crashing when running Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Forza Horizon 5, and various other big releases.

The first Arc Alchemist Intel GPU makes its debut nestled within the new Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro, which adds insult to injury. In theory, an Intel Core i7-12700H Alder Lake should give it an advantage against a GTX 1650 paired with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H. Yet, it seems like even one of the best gaming CPUs can't carry the A370M to Nvidia's level.

League of Legends patch 12.7 notes – Arcana skins, Zeri nerf

League of Legends patch 12.7 notes are starting to make their way onto the PBE, folks. While LoL patch 12.6 has only just been released, Riot Games is wasting no time getting to work on what's next for the MOBA game.

The 12.6 update has plenty to keep you occupied while Riot works on the next patch. The fashion-conscious among us have some new LoL Anima Squad skins to check out, which may be good news if you're a fan of Vayne, Miss Fortune, or Jinx. Rengar has also got a pretty hefty rework, while Hecarim has got some much-needed nerfs to rein them in a tad.

While it's early days for patch 12.7, we've got a wee glimpse of what's coming our way. Riot has revealed that we're getting Arcane skins for Ahri, Xayah, Rakan, Ryze, and Hecarim, which essentially gives the LoL champions a warm red glow and some new duds. As is often the case this early into a new patch cycle, there are no champion, item, or rune balance changes on the PBE to eyeball just yet, but do keep checking back on these notes each day, as a bunch will likely appear soon. We'll be sure to post everything you need to know right here.

LEGO Star Wars glitch makes a Mandalorian army

A new LEGO Star Wars glitch for The Skywalker Saga - which releases today at last - gives players of the action-adventure game the chance to create an army entirely made up of The Mandalorian. That's basically how the Clone Wars got started.

The latest Star Wars game is out today and some players have already got hold of their copies, due to releases in different timezones. A few LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga DLC packs are also out now as part of the Deluxe Edition, including The Mandalorian Season 1 with Mando and Grogu - and this is the DLC with the glitch.

This LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga character glitch was spotted by user Z9_Plasmahh on Reddit and recorded below by his brother Gulgong Devil on YouTube. The Mandalorian comes with a floating Grogu at all times - but while Baby Yoda himself isn't playable, he does appear as a separate character in the menu. As the pair discovered, if you try to swap out Grogu for The Mandalorian again, the game creates a separate Grogu - so you can do it again and keep adding Mandalorians until you have a whole army of them following you around.

All Genshin Impact archaic stone locations

Looking for Genshin Impact archaic stones? These rambunctious rocks are needed as part of the 'Says He Who Seeks Stone' world quest, which is one of the new errands you can embark on in the new The Chasm area that dropped as part of the 2.6 update.

The Genshin Impact archaic stone locations are quite tricky to find, and are often located high in the cliffs around The Chasm. Only a couple are found around ground level. You'll need plenty of stamina boosting tricks to climb and glide your way to all of the various locations. Not to be confused with lumenstone ore, which is a seperate thing.

Muning is your boy for this one, and you only need three for his initial quest. Completing it unlocks a hidden exploration objective where you can repeat the requirements a couple more times, which will require you to find all nine. We've put together this quick guide to help you find your way around, along with some descriptions to help zone in on the exact spot for the archaic stones.

Next Nvidia GPU lineup will be solely fabbed by TSMC

The next Nvidia GPU lineup won't use Samsung parts, according to a report by Business Korea. Instead, the green team will make the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) its sole supplier when it comes to its GeForce RTX 4000 fabrication.

The new Nvidia GPU architecture is set to use TSMC's 4nm manufacturing process – a departure from Ampere's custom 8nm nodes. While some of the best graphics cards like the upcoming GeForce RTX 3090 Ti use Samsung fabricated components, low production yields and manufacturing issues likely convinced the green team to make the switch.

Industry insiders believe TSMC will hold a monopoly over all Nvidia RTX GPU orders in 2022, and the switch marks a huge loss for Samsung as a foundry. However, things could get worse for the Korean tech giant still, as Qualcomm will reportedly also jump ship for its new 3nm nodes next year.

Steam Deck Xbox games include Fable and non-FPS Halo now

The Steam Deck Xbox games list expands today, Microsoft reveals, to include 11 popular Xbox-published games now Verified or Playable for Valve's system. The list sadly doesn't include the hoped-for Steam Deck Halo Infinite compatibility, but does include Fable, Gears Tactics, Minecraft Dungeons, and all of the non-FPS Halo games.

As PCGamesN reported yesterday, there are now over 2,000 Steam Deck Verified or Playable games, but there are still around 1,000 Unsupported games. Unfortunately, some of the Unsupported ones include such major Xbox games as Halo Infinite and Gears 5, mostly thanks to issues with Easy Anti-Cheat.

While it's possible for Xbox Games Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream Xbox games on Steam Deck, anyone who wants to download them on Steam Deck is out of luck in most cases. Good news, then, as Xbox Games Studios today reveals a further batch of Steam Deck compatible games - which sadly still doesn't include the latest Halo or Gears games, but does include Halo Wars, Gears Tactics, Minecraft Dungeons, and the only major Fable game on PC.

Lost Ark new classes – all unreleased and upcoming classes

So you want to know about the Lost Ark new classes? Even though the hit new MMORPG has recently been released in the West, it's been out in Korea for a couple of years now. That means the Korean version of the game has more content than the version we have currently, and this includes classes.

There are several new Lost Ark classes that currently exist in the Korean version that have yet to make the jump over to the western version. These are mainly subclasses, but there's an additional class with subclasses that was never put into Lost Ark for its western launch. We also know of a brand new class (of sorts) that's coming to both versions - a female version of the berserker.

We've put together this guide that summarises everything you need to know about new Lost Ark classes. As time goes on and the rest of the Korean game content makes it way into the western version, we'll update this guide with any new classes, subclasses, or class gender options as they get announced.

Chrono Cross was one of those Square JRPGs that never made its way to Europe at its original time of release. Heck, the first time I got to play time-travel classic Chrono Trigger was when the Nintendo DS version came out in 2009, almost 15 years after it first came out on the SNES. Chrono Cross, its semi-related but not direct sequel, has taken even longer to get here. First releasing on the original PlayStation in 1999 in Japan (and 2000 in the US), it's finally arriving on PC and modern consoles on March 7th as Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, which bundles the original game with its accompanying text-based side story Radical Dreamers that only ever released on the ill-fated Satellaview. The latter's original 4:3 pixel art looks mildly ropey blown up on today's screens, but the main game has received all the modern conveniences you've come to expect from Square Enix's recent run of retro PC ports: new HD character models, re-orchestrated music, multiple font options, and the holy grail: a fast-forward button.

I'm nowhere near the end yet, but from what I've played so far, Chrono Cross is a rollicking good time. There are dozens of characters to meet and recruit to your party that can tangibly change your path through the story, the turn-based battle system offers oodles of depth and variety, and Yasunori Mitsuda's revamped score is right up there with the Final Fantasy greats. For all its buff and polish, though, Chrono Cross has, sadly, also been struck by the same curse as other Square Enix PC ports. The lack of settings options makes it hard to pin down exactly what the problem is, but there's something about the performance and inconsistent frame rate of my review build that's so fundamentally borked that it's like those 22 years haven't even happened. If you, too, have been looking forward to Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, I'd strongly advise waiting for a few patches to arrive before dipping your toes in.

A new Elden Ring patch has restored some power to Starscourge Radahn, a boss so delightful he has a whole festival celebrating him. A previous patch in mid-March made Radahn a pushover, see, and apparently that's partially because a "bug" caused the intended nerfs to go too far. So, they've fixed that bug, giving Radahn some power back, but still leaving him slightly less mighty than he originally was.

New Sailing Song Performance Shared Ahead of Chrono Cross Remaster Debut

There are two new Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition videos to watch. The first one is a music video. Square Enix shared a new performance of the song "Sailing (Another World)" ahead of the Chrono Cross remaster's debut. There's also a new trailer showing off some notable moments in the game.

First, here's a chance to hear the Chrono Cross song "Sailing (Another World)." Composer Yasunori Mitsuda supervised Dreamers' Circus version of the track. The group also performed the new arrangements of other songs, which will be present on the new vinyl soundtrack.

In addition to the music video featuring that song, there's a new Chrono Cross remaster trailer too. It features a number of memorable situations in the game. For example, we see encounters with Zoah and Harle. Keep in mind that all of the scenes consist of spoilers if you haven't played the game before.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 7, 2022. Siliconera's review of the remaster is live.
