Eve Online tactical shooter is in development at CCP London

Eve Online developer CCP Games is working on another FPS game set in the sci-fi world of New Eden, the company revealed during this year's Fanfest in Reykjavik. CCP says the game is currently in pre-production, and that it's an online tactical shooter with "atmospheric visuals" that's being developed at the company's London studio.

CCP has been keen to create an Eve-adjacent FPS for years now: its first attempt, Dust 514 for the PlayStation 3, closed down in 2016 due to low player counts. Its second, another tactical shooter codenamed Project Nova, was shuttered after community feedback and playtesting prompted CCP to go "back to the drawing board" in 2018.

"We recognise that a hard sci-fi FPS game set in the Eve Universe is a very popular concept, and CCP is committed to offering an innovative multiplayer shooter with atmospheric visuals," the company said in a statement released during Fanfest. "We want to show you rather than tell you how we have evolved the concept, and we're looking forward to doing so when the time comes to reveal the game."

This DnD tabletop RPG will be pulled from Steam this month

There are a lot of great DnD games on PC, but sadly one of them will be leaving soon as the Tales from Candlekeep: Tomb of Annihilation Steam version is being pulled from the storefront. It's your last chance to pick up this Dungeons & Dragons Candlekeep strategy game before it's gone forever.

It's not quite a full Dungeons & Dragons RPG game like Baldur's Gate or even an attempt to recreate the D&D experience - for that, you'd be better off with something like Solasta: Lost Valley - but Tales from Candlekeep: Tomb of Annihilation is instead an adaptation of the tabletop game.

It's currently sitting on a 'mostly positive' rating from over 1,500 reviews on Steam, but after five years it seems that developer
BKOM Studios' licence to use the D&D IP has expired. Consequently, Tomb of Annihilation is leaving Steam on May 20. Anyone who picks it up before it leaves will have access after It's pulled, and it's currently on sale for 85% off at £1.79 / $2.39, or the complete edition with all DLC for 77% off at £5.71 / $7.76.

Next The Sims 4 update could add werewolves and pronouns

A teaser video featuring the next The Sims 4 update roadmap for May or June seems to suggest that the management game will add werewolves. Furthermore, fans speculate - with good cause - that the update will also finally add customisable pronouns too.

At the moment, the only way to play as a werewolf in Maxis and EA's popular building game is with the use of The Sims 4 mods. Both The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 received expansions that introduced the lovably lethal lycanthropes, and now, after eight years, The Sims 4 could be getting them too.

The roadmap trailer (below) features the theme of exploring when the sun goes down, a strange creature hunting in the alleys, and - less subtly - something howling at the moon. Fan website SimsCommunity found other hints too, like the update appearing on the official Danish website asking if players were planning to "grow fangs". While the English tagline is "seize the night", the German version is apparently "unleash the beast".

While E3 2022 is cancelled, NotE3 2022 is starting to take shape and... oh thank god, so far it's looking clustered around one week. For all E3's faults, two years of NotE3 stretching one week of event content across two months was agonising. Please, NotE3 2022, stick to that early/mid-June cluster of the Xbox show and Geoff Keighley's Level Up Megazone. Please, for your old pal Alice. But enough about the future: what are you playing this weekend?
