Looks like an Evangelion Asus ROG gaming PC is coming

Building an anime-themed gaming PC seems to get easier with each passing day, with more manufacturers pushing out systems and components inspired by beloved Japanese animation. Now, it looks like Asus ROG is planning to release its own Neon Genesis Evangelion themed system, and its specs may be as monstrous as EVA-01.

Teasing the upcoming gaming PC across its social channels, Asus ROG describes its EVA-01 homage as "the ultimate machine" but is yet to provide any official specs. However, the company has been kind enough to offer us a glimpse at its Evangelion PC case, providing you can squint your eyes and look past the obfuscating text. We'll have to wait until May 14 though to get a better look at the purple-green rig.

We can make some educated guesses about what we'll eventually see, though, as Asus ROG is already selling limited edition variants of its best graphics cards and gaming motherboards complete with Evangelion designs. This new system will likely come packed with one of Intel's best gaming CPUs given the Z690 chipset, and we should expect an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 to accompany it.

Starfield release date – latest news and gameplay

When is the Starfield release date? It was officially going to be November 2022, but Bethesda has recently announced a Starfield delay into 2023. We'll have to wait a bit longer for the first new Bethesda series in 25 years. Regardless, that's still cause enough to scream so loud with excitement that we could be heard in space.

The eventual Starfield release date will see the beloved Fallout and Elder Scrolls studio leaving the ground and heading out among, well, the stars. A whole field of stars, in fact. You might even call it a star field. What has the studio found there? That's what we're looking to work out, as the first meteorites filled with information begin to fall from the sky.

Bethesda's online-only title, Fallout 76, disappointed us as much as it did fans of the post-apocalyptic games series. However, Starfield is a surer prospect in some ways: a single-player game, just like Skyrim and Fallout 4 before it. In other ways, it's bolder and stranger - a completely new universe, whereas Fallout and The Elder Scrolls are rooted in decades of established lore, locations, and creatures. Here's everything we know about Starfield.

Starfield mods – what we know so far

So you want to know about Starfield mods? Mod support is an important part of many PC games, but especially RPG games. Skyrim has endured all these years partly because it's a great game, partly because Bethesda keeps releasing it on hitherto unknown gaming platforms, but also because it's powered by a vibrant and creative modding community.

You can imagine then, that those looking forward to Bethesda's new upcoming open-world game will be very interested in knowing about the prospect of Starfield mods. Running around a fantasy game with custom horse armour or new powers is fine and all, but we're talking space here. The boundless, unhinged creativity of the Bethesda modding scene with a corner of the galaxy to play with? Sign us up.

Thankfully Starfield mod support is one of the few things we have a definitive answer for, like whether or not there will be a Starfield Game Pass release. In a Reddit AMA held in November 2021, Todd Howard himself talked about Starfield mod support, stating "Our plan [is] to have full mod support like our previous games. Our modding community has been with us for 20 years. We love what they do and hope to see more make a career out of it."

Redfall and Starfield delayed into 2023

If you were hoping to enjoy Starfield this winter, you'll need to make new plans. An official tweet from Bethesda Game Studios has announced that the upcoming open-world game - along with Arkane's FPS game Redfall - has been delayed into 2023.

"We've made the decision to delay the launches of Redfall and Starfield to the first half of 2023," the tweet reads. "The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them."

Given that before today everyone was expecting Starfield to launch in November, we were hoping to get a glimpse of the exciting new Bethesda title at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase on June 12. Whether we still will remains to be seen, but even if we do, we now have to wait up to a year to get the game into our hands. Naturally, this news also pushes back the Starfield game pass release date, which has so far been pegged for the same day as the game's general release.

Call of Duty: Warzone event's real MVP is King Kong

Players are already having fun monkeying around in Call of Duty: Warzone's new Operation Monarch event, with Godzilla and King Kong helping some players to victory in the FPS game. The Operation Monarch event is now underway and sees the two battling behemoths roaming Warzone's Caldera island map, causing chaos as teams duke it out for survival in this limited-time mode.

As well as creating hazards around the map, Godzilla and Kong's devastating power can also be employed by players who earn themselves a S.C.R.E.A.M. device by being the squad to deal the most damage to one of the monsters during a designated Titan Frenzy period. The device can then be used to direct an attack from the lumbering leviathans - Kong leaping in to deal huge damage and Godzilla blasting zones with his heat ray.

Both Twitter and the Warzone subreddit are already awash with clips of the beasts coming in clutch and helping players to secure victory. Reddit user 08Alpha12's team deployed the S.C.R.E.A.M. device to call in Kong to clutch a dramatic victory from a 1v3 position. Another player, MrTX, was downed not long after calling in the gargantuan gorilla only to have Kong leap in to secure the victory as they lay on the floor. The big lizard has been putting in work, too - Unable-Cause3910 took advantage of Godzilla's devastating beam attack to help close out their own victory.

Steam Deck update introduces per-game performance profiles

The latest Steam Deck update is now available to download, providing you've been lucky enough to acquire the handheld gaming PC, of course. This patch introduces the usual bug fixes and improvements, but we're most excited about a new feature that promises to make Valve's device more convenient to use: per-game performance profiles.

In the last Steam Deck update or two, Valve gave players the ability to change the frame rate limit of games, TDP limit, and the refresh rate of the device itself on a system-wide level. While these were welcome features, it quickly became tedious reconfiguring these settings to accommodate the performance footprint of a game each and every time you loaded one up.

That all changes today with the arrival of per-game performance profiles. When enabled, the Steam Deck will remember how you've configured the settings in the system's performance menu for each game, allowing you to spend less time tinkering and more time playing. If at any point you're not happy with how you've set things up, Valve has also implemented a means of resetting everything back to their default state.

GTA Online weekly update greatly boosts freemode events

GTA Online fans will know that Thursdays bring with them the GTA Online weekly update, and, while the official update notes from Rockstar are due later today, we've got all the details for you here courtesy of players already jumping in to check out what's going on in the multiplayer crime game.

This week focuses on the freemode events that occur routinely during regular sessions in the world. Players can earn quadruple the usual in-game cash and reputation points for participating in these events. In addition, they'll also be popping up far more frequently, as Rockstar has greatly decreased the freemode events timer - meaning they will now occur every nine minutes instead of the usual 20 minute cooldown period.

Cash and reputation rewards are also doubled for the motor wars adversary mode, which is a fast-paced twist on a GTA Online battle royale. Players drop into an ever-shrinking arena filled with armoured vehicles and heavy weaponry, and battle to be the last team standing as the arena walls slowly close in.

GTA podium car: here's what vehicle you can win in GTA Online

What is the GTA podium car this week? GTA Online vehicles are expensive things, so we're happy to take a spin on the Diamond Casino's Lucky Wheel to get a discount. Winning isn't guaranteed, sure, but it isn't out of the question either. Look, we don't have a problem - leave it alone.

Finding out what the GTA Online podium car is simple enough - it's winning it that's the challenge. You can spin the Diamond Casino's Lucky Wheel once a day, and each Podium Car refreshes after seven days on a Thursday. Basically, you have seven shots to get the vehicle of that given week. If you own a Penthouse, you can spin it for free, but if you don't it's $500 a spin. Don't fret if you don't win, as you can try for something else.

You have a one in 20 chance of getting the podium vehicle, a car discount, or a mystery prize. There's a four in 20 chance of getting clothes, chips, and cash. Finally, there's a five in 20 chance of getting RP. On that note, here's everything you need to know about this week's GTA podium car.

Genshin Impact Spices from the West event guide

Want to know more about the Genshin Impact Spices from the West event? This is a new Genshin Impact event running as part of the extended Genshin Impact 2.6 cycle, since Genshin Impact 2.7 has been delayed indefinitely. It involves a new minigame where players create seasonings using specific ingredients, and even invite their favourite Genshin Impact characters for a taste-test to gain a companion boost.

A mysterious lady from Sumeru asks the Traveler to conduct some research on seasonings to see which ones work well in each dish. The Genshin Impact Spices from the West event starts on May 14, and will run through to early June.

Though this event bears a resemblance to the Of Drink A-Dreaming event which featured drink recipes, it appears the Spices from the West event is much harder. Players have to collect their own ingredients this time around, and must pay close attention during the cooking process as it's easier to make mistakes. Here's everything you need to know about the Spices from the West event in Genshin Impact.

League of Legends patch 12.10 notes – High Noon skins, durability buff

The League of Legends patch 12.10 notes are starting to launch on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) for all to see. While LoL patch 12.9 is live, thanks to the new update we already have an idea of what Riot Games is bringing to its popular MOBA game next.

First off, the biggest thing coming in LoL update 12.10 is a load more High Noon skins for various Champions. Patch 12.9 added some of these snappy new skins for the likes of Katarina, Leona, and more, and now 12.10 brings in five new ones, including Samira, Sion, and Twitch.

As previously announced, 12.10 also buffs the durability of every single champion, as part of Riot's goal to "slow the pace" of the game's combat so damage isn't so much of a focus. To that end, base health, health per level, armour per level, and magic resistance per level have all been increased across the board - so matches might not be over so quickly now.

     Starfield Game Pass release date

Want to know if Starfield is coming to Game Pass? Now that Microsoft owns Bethesda and all of its properties, this acquisition opens up some interesting possibilities for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Specifically, will Bethesda's upcoming open-world space game Starfield be coming to Game Pass?

The good news is yes, it is. The better news is that the Starfield game pass debut has been confirmed for day one, meaning you can play the new RPG game straight away as part of your subscription. Since Microsoft owns Bethesda, once Starfield is on Game Pass it's unlikely to ever leave, unlike plenty of third-party offerings which rotate out of the service eventually.

Just in case you're someone who is a stickler for the facts, you can go to the official Starfield splash page for all the confirmation you seek. The only potential wiggle room that exists right now is that Starfield is coming to 'Xbox Game Pass', which could be considered a separate thing to 'PC Game Pass'. Starfield is coming to both console and PC, so we'd be very surprised if Microsoft decided to exclude the PC version suddenly.

Nvidia RTX 4070 – release date rumours, price, specs, and benchmarks

The Nvidia RTX 4070 won't be the best graphics card in terms of specs, but if you're looking to balance price and performance, it could be a winning solution. Just like the GeForce RTX 3070, the green team's next-gen GPU should pair nicely with mid-range gaming PCs, and it might even transform your rig into a ray tracing powerhouse without costing as much as the RTX 4080.

The prospect of grabbing an Nvidia RTX 4070 on release may feel daunting, especially since component shortages have hampered the cost and availability of the current-gen RTX 3070. However, Nvidia has reportedly invested $10 billion in securing RTX 4000 components, which may help tackle the stock scarcity situation. The computing giant is also looking into refining its manufacturing processes, as the green team's next-gen GPUs will be fabricated by TSMC instead of Samsung.

If your rig is still rocking a GeForce GTX graphics card, or you've been waiting around for an RTX refresh, you're probably considering jumping straight to Nvidia's next-gen contender. To help you make your next gaming machine move, we've compiled everything we know about potential RTX 4070 price, release date rumours, specs, and benchmarks before the GPU arrives, courtesy of Moore's Law Is Dead and Digitimes.

Nvidia RTX 4090 – release date rumours, price, specs, and benchmarks

The Nvidia RTX 4090 - which might actually release as the RTX 5090 - looks to be a strong best graphics card contender, and it could shake up the gaming PC scene as we know it. While the green team is still focussing on its GeForce RTX 3000 series, the prospect of playing the latest Steam games on a GPU twice as fast as the RTX 3090 is undeniably exciting.

The idea of an Nvidia RTX 4090 might feel like a pipedream at the moment, as GPU and CPU shortages are still hampering rig upgrades across the globe. Thankfully, Nvidia looks set to ride the out of stock storm head-on, as it has already spent $10 billion securing RTX 4000 components. Availability is one thing, but increased demand has also led to rocketing GPU prices, and crypto mining enthusiasts are willing to pay a pretty penny.

If you're planning on picking up a next-gen GPU, you'll want to learn as much as you can about Nvidia's next flagship graphics card. Since we're a helpful bunch, we've been keeping our ear to the ground to pick up any RTX 4090 price, release date rumours, and spec information that's rumbling around the rumour mill.

Leave the doormat outside long enough in Age Of Darkness: Final Stand and you might not live to see the morning. If the game's grimdark aesthetic didn't warn you, here's another from me directly: this game is brutal. Be mentally prepared to start over, over and over again. The "one more round" syndrome is strong with this mashup of tower defense and strategy.

The game's premise is simple: survive. While the standard survival mode is challenging enough to warrant hours of gameplay, Age Of Darkness's modifiers let you amp up the carnage for a nightmarish good time. See those little creatures all over your screen like bees in an unstable hive? Now picture building a settlement over them.
